Speaker 1 (00:05):
So today we're going to cover the seven energy
centers or chakras, and thenwe're going to explore the major
hormones that are associatedwith those and then we're going
to experience those forourselves.
So for the purposes of ourdiscussion, you know there's
seven chakras, but we're goingto start with the first and the

(00:27):
second combined because there'smuch overlap.
Much of the research I've doneover the years crosses both of
these together.
They are two distinct energycenters.
However, just for the purposesof our discussion, we will
explore and discuss both of themtogether.
So this includes the rootchakra and then the sacral

(00:55):
chakra, and both of thesegraphics show you roughly their
location.
But again, we don't have aphysical organ, so we wouldn't
be able to do an MRI and see ourroot chakra.
We could do an MRI and see ourlumbar spine, which is
associated with the root chakra.
So the root chakra, which islocated deep in the body, in the

(01:24):
base of the spine, likelysomewhere near the tailbone, and
emotionally it is associatedwith our ability to trust our
feeling in the here and now, ourfeeling centered and whole.
The sacral chakra is alsolocated deep in the body, but

(01:47):
it's higher, so it's somewherein the pelvic region and
probably in front of the spineand probably hovering somewhere
around the bladder and in women, hovering around where the
uterus and ovaries are bothagain deep in the body.
And same thing.
We wouldn't be able to see iton any kind of imaging, we can

(02:08):
just sense it there.
So this picture just as areminder of what's in the pelvic
region for women.
So of course you've got thebladder there, uterus and
ovaries, if they're still there.
For women that have hadhysterectomies, those would not
be there or part of those wouldbe missing.

(02:30):
It's important to note that insubtle energy or energy medicine
, having a hysterectomy does notchange the sacral chakra, has
absolutely no change on thispart of the body.
No change on this part of thebody.

(02:51):
And the glands that we'reconcerned with primarily would
be the ovaries in women and inmen, although the primary organs
that we'd be concerned with areexternal, so of course that'd
be the testicles.
In terms of energy medicineit's still the same.
So although in men we wouldn'thave these internal organs

(03:11):
producing hormones, as far asworking with that energy it's
actually still the same.
Many schools of thoughts locatethe testicles in the root
chakra, some in the sacralchakra.
So for our discussion, that'swhy we put them both together.
So just a reminder that forboth genders, that's kind of
what we're referencing.

(03:31):
So the hormones that areproduced from the first and
second chakra primarily areestrogen, progesterone and
testosterone.
So these are hormones that arecalled the sex hormones.
That's a really simple, symbolized way to describe them,
because these hormones havemuch, much, much bigger jobs.

(03:53):
But most of the time inclinical medicine we say, oh,
these are just your sex hormonesand these are also the hormones
that a lot of people arespeaking of when they say, oh, I
need my hormones checked, Idon't feel good, I feel tired,
don't feel right.
So, in terms of those hormonesand when they're not optimal,
when they're not what we need, what do we experience?

(04:17):
So, in the root chakra, ifthings aren't right, if they
don't feel okay, the symptomsthat you might feel might be in
the legs, could be muscle crampsin the legs, along with
restless leg, maybe just feelingtired.
I put mania in trouble withfocusing and that feeling is

(04:38):
often what's called feelingungrounded.
You just don't feel like you'recentered.
Those might be even clinicalmania or clinical trouble.
Focusing is ADD or ADHD.
If your energy flow isn't greatin your root chakra, you might
actually have inflammation andnot just in the root chakra, so

(04:58):
not just inflammation that be inthe lower back or inflammation
from arthritis in the hips orthe knees.
This would be inflammation allover the body, so it might show
up in the skin in all the jointsand then, of course, feeling
anxious or feeling depressed, and in the sacral chakra, if the

(05:19):
energy flow isn't great there, what you might experience.
When I created these lists, Iactually wanted them to be a
little bit jumbled because Iwanted you to get the sense of
when we are living through this.
This is what you feel, so itcould be experiencing trouble
having a child or trouble withthe reproductive system.
It could be experiencing a lowlibido or having difficulty

(05:44):
during sex.
It could be having PMS symptoms.
It could be that you're havingtrouble with being creative you
need to write a memo or write amanual and you're having
writer's block or you're havingtrouble with your bladder, with
pain or dysfunction in thebladder or having to urinate,

(06:04):
feeling you need to urinate evenwhen you don't even need to go.
It could even extend all theway to digestive issues, with
having trouble with elimination,or having difficulty relating
in relationships, difficulty inintimate relationships or with
friends or family.
So when we experience theseblockages, it's completely not
just physical, it's a wholelived experience, all throughout

(06:27):
all of those symptoms.
So we're going to get ready tosense our own root and sacral
chakras, and these mantras aresomething that you can recite to
yourself, because we'll just bedoing this for a few minutes.
If you want to make notes, feelfree to.

(06:48):
If it's the root chakra thatyou want to tap into more I
can't grow from an unsteadyfoundation or if it's the sacral
chakra, it is.
And sorry, I can't see thatwhole mantra from my view, but
feel free to have a look, bringthose into your being, write
them down if you need to.

(07:09):
So now is our first of theseexperiences.
So, wherever you are seated inany way that you can get
comfortable, if you were doingsomething, if you could find
just a few minutes to get quiet, you can also put your hands on

(07:37):
either side, on your hips.
If you feel fairly flexible andyou feel that you can reach
your lower back, you can placeyour hands on your lower back.
You can also put one hand onyour pelvis and then one on your
back.
So however you want to takethat option, the effect will be

(08:01):
about the same.
But just getting your handssomewhere on that lower body and
for the next few minutes we'rejust going to sense our root and
our sacral chakra and we'rejust going to try to sense into
where we are with our hormonesthere.
So you might get some insight.
So you can simply take a deepbreath in through your nose, out

(08:27):
through your mouth and as youbreathe you might want to
experiment and see if your handsregister or move, if your
breath is deep enough that itcreates movement in your pelvis.

(08:48):
So for a few minutes, so for afew minutes, if you want to
breathe in to your base, to yoursacral chakra, you may feel

(09:14):
energy flow down your legs, thank you.

(10:05):
And when we work with theselower chakras now, you might
start to feel any harried orjumbled thoughts and energy
begin to slow down, thank you.

(10:58):
So as we complete thatexperience, if your eyes were
closed might be a good idea togo ahead and open your eyes.
And the nice thing is, as wejourney through this, we'll have
time to return to that base, tothat root.
It's a great place to work withthe rest of the energy centers

(11:21):
and really it's fairly mandatorywhen we get to the higher
chakras, that we get back intouch with that base.
All right, so the first and thesecond we just experienced the
solar plexus chakra.
So this is the chakra that islocated in the belly.

(11:44):
It's also called menopause inthe traditional sense, and its
location is in a reallyimportant place in our bodies.
So it's in the upper abdomen,it's around where our stomach is
.
The solar plexus chakra is alocation of the pancreas and, in

(12:08):
terms of our hormonal health, this is a gland that I feel
often gets overlooked by most ofus Because, again, when most
people say I would like to havemy hormones checked, they're
thinking of just their estrogen, just their progesterone, maybe
their testosterone, maybe theircortisone.
I think they're probablythinking of that, but they often

(12:30):
forget that one of the majorproducers of any hormone in the
body is the pancreas.
So the pancreas is an organthat sits very near the stomach.
It's wrapped around by thesmall intestines and the
pancreas produces hormonesinsulin and glucagon.
These are very importanthormones as far as our

(12:51):
metabolism and our energy.
The pancreas has other roles asfar as digestion.
For that role, it doesn'tproduce hormones.
It does produce enzymes andother things that help us break
down and digest our food.
But in terms of the energy andwanting to have something
flowing and working well, we cansee how, if our pancreas

(13:13):
doesn't get enough energy fromus, attention from us, or we're
blocking it, how that wouldcreate much bigger problems of
problems.
And then the other major glandsin this region are the adrenal
glands, which sit right on topof the kidneys.
They're not actually very bigthis graphic helps us to see

(13:33):
their location but in real lifethey're actually a lot smaller
than that.
And the adrenal glands arecomprised of layers and in terms
of hormonal health, each layermakes a different type of
hormone.
So the solar plexus chakra isconsidered our source of

(13:57):
personal power.
It's where we have ourself-esteem, it's where we feel
our best and it's also a lot ofwhere we have our thinking.
So we think clearly when thesolar plexus chakra is nice and
strong.
So if, for some reason, wedon't have good energy flow in

(14:22):
the solar plexus chakra, and whythat might happen is it's
another big discussion on howyou could get blocked here, from
life experiences, history ofneglect, abuse.
But if your energy flow is notgood here, things that you might
notice are just not feelingvery confident, not feeling
motivated.
The digestive issues, of course, would be trouble with

(14:45):
digesting your food, feelingthat when you eat you don't
break down your food, or evenseeing evidence of it, eating
food that passes through yoursystem undigested, seeing whole
food in your stool, basically.
And then the biggest blockageis to me the most dangerous, and
we know that there's evidenceof this worldwide is when our

(15:06):
solar plexus doesn't have a goodenergy flow.
The pancreas has been workingtoo hard for years and years,
leading to diabetes, one of themost common diseases worldwide
and one of the most devastating.
I put there metabolic disordersbecause diabetes is a form of a
metabolic disorder, so it'syour body's inability to manage

(15:30):
glucose as a form of energy.
So the hormones in the solarplexus chakra are insulin and
glucagon, and those come fromthe pancreas.
So again, that's one that Ifeel always deserves much more

(15:51):
attention.
It is actually possible tocheck those levels.
Insulin is definitely possibleto check.
And then aldosterone, which isone that gets overlooked and is
an important cause of high bloodpressure in many individuals
Producing the adrenal glands andimproper production of

(16:11):
aldosterone, making too much ofit, can cause high blood
pressure and leading to someoneneeding three, four, five, six
blood pressure medications.
That's actually a big point ofresearch recently that a lot of
people are being treatedincorrectly for their blood
pressure because theiraldosterone levels are too high,
cortisol and cortisone comingfrom the adrenal glands, hea,

(16:36):
which is an important buildingblock, and it's a building block
of our hormones from the sacralchakra the estrogen,
progesterone and testosterone.
You need to have good levels ofDHEA in order to produce those
others.
So if that's not optimized, your downward production of
those other hormones isn't verygood.

(16:57):
And then, lastly, one that'soften called a vitamin, which is
actually a hormone, is vitaminD, which affects our bone health
.
So all of this coming from thesolar plexus chakra.
So we're going to go ahead andstart our solar plexus chakra

(17:18):
experience.
So here is the mantra that youcan have to review.

(18:00):
If you are seated in a placeyou can perform this.
You'll just be placing yourhands on your abdomen so you can
put your hands above your bellybutton but beneath your chest,
and you want to keep yourfingers pretty close together

(18:36):
together.
So as you settle into thisexperience, you can let your
eyes close and keeping yourattention on where your hands
meet your belly and, for thenext few minutes, just make
observations.
So not trying to change or moveanything, just observe if you
feel heat, do you feel cold, doyou feel fullness.

(19:05):
So let's just take a fewminutes to see what we sense in
our solar plexus.
Thank you, thank you.

(21:28):
So if you want to take one morebig breath, just make a final
note of anything you sensed inthis area.
Then it can feel good to takeyour hands together and just rub
them together, take a few bigbreaths.

(21:52):
If your eyes were closed, youcan go ahead and open those, and
on we go.
So if you all saw the workbook, there was a questionnaire and

(22:18):
it's concerning adversechildhood experiences and I
thought this was a good point.
It's a big topic but when we'rediscussing the heart chakra and
we're discussing hormones whatour bodies are doing, chakra and
we're discussing hormones, whatour bodies are doing it's
really hard not to look at whatchildhood experiences do.

(22:39):
So heart chakra located in thechest.
So it's in the center of thechest.
We call it the heart chakra, but it's not over directly the
heart.
It's actually beneath thebreastbone, deep within the
chest.
So as far as the subtle energylocation, breastbone deep within
the chest.
So as far as the subtle energylocation, probably closer to
where the esophagus may be, inthe chest, and in terms of the

(23:02):
structures that are there.
Of course, our heart's there, our lungs there, but for the
purposes of our discussion today, purposes of our discussion
today is going to be the thymusgland that's located in the
chest, and the thymus glandmainly.

(23:24):
It's producing something calledthymusin, and thymusin's job is
actually, to a rough definition, is to train the immune system
as far as when to attack andwhen not to.
So thymus is produced just inthe thymus gland and it's
training the T cells to knowwhen a pathogen or something
that's very small is actually athreat and when it's not.

(23:46):
When the thymus is not producedcorrectly, those T cells can
become confused and begin tolearn to attack the wrong things
, and when this happens, that'swhat leads to autoimmune
diseases, which is an extremelylong list of disorders, from
psoriasis to lupus, to alopecia,to Crohn's and ulcerative

(24:10):
colitis.
Also produced in the heartchakra is something called BNP.
It is a hormone that the heartwill produce if the heart senses
that there's too much fluid oris having trouble beating.
The job of BNP is to tell thekidneys to release extra water.
For the most part, most of uswon't probably experience a

(24:32):
disruption in our BNP unless wehave severe heart issues.
So if we become blocked in theheart chakra, what is it that we
might experience?
Of course, our heart chakra inour chest.
We could have problems in thelungs, from asthma to COPD or

(24:58):
autoimmune diseases of the lungssuch as pulmonary hypertension.
We could have diseases of theheart, so blocked arteries
coronary artery disease is oneor heart failure.
We might have autoimmunedisorders that could impact the
entire body.
And then emotionally we wouldhave trouble with

(25:18):
self-compassion.
So if we can't have compassionfor ourselves, then can we have
compassion for others?
And we might be able to, butit's probably going to be a
struggle.
And then also the shoulders.
If we're having trouble withour heart chakra, we might
experience shoulder pain all theway to shoulder arthritis.

(25:39):
And when the heart chakra hasbeen blocked for a long time in
the heart, a big blockage, majordepression, longstanding the
fatigue and kind of majordepression, not just a depressed
mood but the severe depressionand then overall feeling unloved
.

(26:01):
The heart chakra's role is itbridges our lower chakras that
are mostly sensory, verypersonal, and our lower chakras
are often, you know, often whatwe don't share with the world,
with the upper chakras ofcommunication inside some of
those things, and our heart isactually the bridge between all
of that.
So here is the mantra that goeswith the heart chakra.

(26:29):
I did have additional resourcesconcerning the heart chakra
which I think I'll share thosetowards the end.
Sometime back I created aYouTube program with a good
friend of mine called theVibrational Healing Program.
That is a good way to reallycenter in and hone in on the
heart chakra, but I'll sharethat towards the end.
So this mantra is one that youcan write down, read With the

(26:56):
mantras.

(27:17):
As we're doing these, you canplace one hand directly on your
breastbone or your heart andthen the other on top of it,
whichever it just comes to you.
So it can be right hand firstor left hand first, and then, if
you're seated, this is a goodtime to just check your posture

(27:43):
and just see if your legs andyour pelvis feel good and
grounded.
And alternatively, depending onwhat kind of day you've had, if
you'd like to stand up for thisone, this would be a perfectly
good time to stand up and justground your feet, get some good

(28:04):
energy into your legs and then,as we settle into this
experience, you can let youreyes close and you'll inhale and
see if you can inhale from yourroot, your sacral chakra, the

(28:25):
solar plexus, and then feel yourchest expand and then exhale
and again inhaling, basicallyfrom the bottom, inhaling from

(28:49):
your back, your sacrum, yourbelly, then your chest expands
and exhale.
The heart chakra is consideredto be one of the most or the

(29:13):
most important energy center andof all of our chakras, this is
the one that forms first whenwe're babies, when we're embryos
.
So as you settle into this, take your attention to the hand
closest to your chest and simplyobserve.

(29:41):
You might feel your own heartbeating.
You may sense your chest expandwith each inhale and contract
with each exhale and you maysense your emotional world.

(30:05):
So you may sense love orgratitude.
So you may sense love orgratitude, or you may sense a
sadness or a loss, maybesomething that you've forgotten.

(30:26):
And in this next few minutes, just sit with it, don't change
it, just feel it.
Don't change it, just feel it.
And if, in this space, it's astrong feeling, that's okay.
I'm actually with you all andI'm channeling a little energy

(30:53):
as we do this.
So if there's a strong sense ofsomething, it's okay in this
next few minutes to let it go.
Thank you, thank you.

(32:59):
Beyond the physical, your heartis a major energy center.
So now you can take yourattention to the space around

(33:25):
your body, the air around yourbody and between your hands and
the sphere around your body.
This is actually your heartchakra.
And for the last minute, youcan even play with expanding

(33:49):
that bubble so you might senseit, rubbing our hands together
and opening the eyes.
And before we move on to thethroat chakra so that ace

(34:20):
questionnaire that's in thebooklet I just want to point out
, if you complete that andessentially, if you find out
that you you had a score, reallyany score but if your score was
higher than you intended, thething that I want to point out
to you is that association withautoimmune issues and issues
with blockages in the heart, that's what I'd like you to know

(34:42):
.
So next we'll go on to thethroat chakra.
So the throat chakra, which, ofcourse, is located in the
throat, in the neck, and thegland that is associated with
the throat chakra, the glands, are the thyroid glands.

(35:03):
So this graphic lights up verynicely what the thyroid gland
looks like.
It has a beautiful butterflyshape and it sits right over
where we speak, our vocal cordsand, of course, our breathing is
where our air comes into ourlungs through our neck, and then
another gland that isoverlooked way too much, which

(35:27):
are called the parathyroidglands.
This is a small set of glandsthere can be four or five of
them that are embedded withinthe thyroid gland and the
parathyroids have a role in ourbody as far as maintaining
calcium levels and maintainingour bone health, and I feel is

(35:48):
one that's frequently overlooked, because when the parathyroid
hormone is abnormal, it cancause a lot of symptoms that go
without explanation.
So, in terms of the thyroidhormones, the real thyroid
hormones are T3 and T4.
Now, when we're getting ourblood work done, or we're

(36:09):
getting an annual visit, or ifwe're getting ready for our
visit with a functional medicinedoctor, the TSH often gets put
into the thyroid panel.
But the TSH is not from thethyroid.
It comes from a different partof the body, which we will cover
next.
The T3 and T4 are the actualhormones produced by the thyroid

(36:29):
gland.
The T3 is the one that actuallydoes the work.
So the T3 is what gets intocirculation and it's the hormone
that's the active role.
T3 is sort of a driver or a jetfuel to our body.
So it governs metabolism, bodytemperature, governs how quickly

(36:50):
nerves can talk to each other.
That's T3's role.
And then T4 is the storage form.
It does have some weak activitywithin the body, but its
primary role is to remain instorage and then be converted to
T3 for later use.
Then the parathyroid hormone, which is really very much

(37:10):
overlooked, and abnormalities inthe parathyroid hormone, which
is the most common, is makingtoo much can cause a drastic
loss in bone density.
Having excessive parathyroidhormone can also cause stones to
form.
So someone who's had more thanone episode of kidney stones
really needs a parathyroidhormone check.

(37:32):
These are the hormones thatcome from the throat chakra.
So the throat chakra isassociated with speaking our
truth and expressing ourselves.
It's our center ofcommunication, it's our center
of how we show up in the world, our source of personal strength

(37:53):
and some consider it a source ofwillpower.
So again, if the throat chakrais not open or the energy is not
flowing very well, it mightshow up just as pain in the neck
or the jaw.
Neck pain, jaw pain, areactually the source of tension

(38:15):
headaches, so that can cause aheadache, but that pain's
actually coming from the neck.
Trouble with swallowing thethyroid diseases that most of us
are familiar with.
Having a thyroid that's notworking well it's overactive or
underactive and then emotionallyhaving trouble communicating,
having trouble getting our ideasout there, not being able to
speak up for ourselves, could bepotentially how that shows up.

(38:50):
So now we'll do our throatchakra experience.
So this is where we speak ourtruth and for this exercise
you'll place your hands anywhereon your neck or throat that is
comfortable, if you can, one orboth hands, either directly on

(39:11):
the front of your neck or evenon the side, or, if you're
comfortable, even placing onehand on the back and one on the
front.
And you'll want to keep thepressure light.
And, just as we did before, ifyou feel comfortable, you can
let your eyes closeno-transcript and just sense

(40:25):
what that feels like, simplymaking note of what you sense.
Is it buzzing, warmth?
Maybe you don't feel anything, which is fine, but for the next
few minutes, keeping your handswhere they are and simply big
inhale through the entire bodyand then, if you are comfortable

(40:46):
, exhaling audibly where you canhear it.
Thank you, thank you.
So if you'd like to let youreyes open and you can bring your

(42:49):
hands together in front of you,rub them together gently.
You can also keep your handstogether and take one more big
inhale and exhale through themouth.

(43:10):
So I have a question abouttension headaches, which it
sounds a little weird, buttension headaches typically
arise from muscle tension in themuscles of the neck.
Most all the major musclegroups in the neck make a
connection with the scalp and itis from there that tension

(43:32):
headaches actually occur.
From an energy medicineperspective, we would see
tension headaches as coming froma blockage in the throat chakra
.
So it's weird because we alwaysthink of tension headaches as
in the head, naturally becausetypically we're anxious thoughts
in the head and that's wherethe tension comes from.
But it's actually from themuscles.

(43:53):
It's one called thesternocleidomastoid and then all
of the muscles in the back ofthe neck remaining tense.
And this little exercise we didis actually a good practice if
you suffer from tensionheadaches to just do that during
the day, just to engage withyour own muscles and help you
relax.
All right, on we go.

(44:23):
So the third eye is located inthe head and it is somewhere
between the ears but at thelevel of the eyebrow.
So that location puts thatsubtle energy center into what's
called the master gland.

(44:44):
So here's some anatomy of thebrain and the gland that we are
going to be discussing now iscalled the pituitary gland, so
here's the label for it here andof all these structures in the
brain.
It's actually remarkably small,so it sits deep, deep within

(45:04):
the brain.
It is something that could beimaged.
We can get pictures of thepituitary gland and it's roughly
thought of where our third eyechakra exists, more than likely.
But again, we can't probablysee the chakra, but we can see
the pituitary gland, and this iswhere it gets pretty busy,
because the pituitary gland, asyou heard me say, is the master

(45:26):
gland.
So the pituitary gland makes along list of hormones.
The hormones control many ofthe functions of the body,
including breast health, thefunctioning of the ovaries, the
functioning of the testes.
The pituitary gland controlsthe functioning of the thyroid,
even has control over theproduction of pigment, the

(45:50):
growth when we're younger, before we have puberty, our
ability to grow tall.
So the pituitary gland is themaster gland and it to some
extent controls pretty muchevery other gland in the body.
So the third eye chakra is thechakra that many people are

(46:11):
seeking to open when they starta spiritual journey or they
start meditation or they startyoga, and kind of interesting
that that's the one that wetarget.
That's associated with so manyfunctions, it controls so much,
so it's kind of a great place tobe targeting, because by
balancing this you can balancethe functioning throughout your

(46:33):
body.
So here's a list of some of thehormones that pituitary gland
makes.
It's not the entire list, butthis reminds us that some of
those, including the LH and theFSH, control the production of
the sex hormones that wementioned earlier in the talk,
such as the estrogen, testosterone and progesterone,

(46:56):
and then the thyroid hormone, the TSH.
It's not produced in thethyroid, it's produced in the
pituitary gland.
So the production of TSHdepends on the pituitary gland's
response to what's going on inthe body, the metabolic needs of
the body.
If the pituitary gland sensesthat more thyroid hormone is
needed, it raises the TSH andthat's what causes increased

(47:21):
production of thyroid hormone.
Also, growth hormone, ournatural source of pain.
Relievers of opioids, and thenthe melanocyte stimulating
hormone, which is our productionof pigment, of opioids, and
then the melanocyte stimulatinghormone, which is our production
of pigment.

(47:44):
So if we have blockages in thethird eye, how does that show up
?
So really it can show up withjust about anything that's
uncomfortable or unpleasant, buta big summary would be in
hormone imbalances throughoutthe body.
To some extent probably relatesto the third eye not flowing
well, not having open energy, metabolic disorders,
particularly if the pituitaryglands having issues.
It will change how the adrenalglands work and will change how

(48:08):
the pancreas works so that themetabolism doesn't work well,
change how the pancreas works sothat the metabolism doesn't
work well, so we may haveunwanted weight gain or not be
able to gain weight, burn energytoo quickly or not quickly
enough.
If the pituitary gland has acertain kind of damage, it could
actually raise our chances ofhaving autoimmune disease
because the pituitary gland isnot talking well with the

(48:30):
adrenal glands, so the adrenalglands may fail to make cortisol
and cortisone when they'reneeded, which can lead to
autoimmune disease indirectly.
And then what our experience ofa third eye blockage could be?
Really just not knowing.
Not knowing the things we couldknow, knowing that maybe our

(48:51):
intuition's not there, notknowing the things we could know
, knowing that maybe ourintuition's not there.
Also, insomnia, and I forgot toput this on here but migraine
headaches.
So if our energy doesn't flowwell, this is where our
migraines could be coming from.

(49:15):
So here is the mantra for thethird eye experience.
So I am open to exploring whatcannot be seen.
And for this experience, nowyou'll just be able to put your
hands wherever is comfortable,so you can leave your hands just
in your lap, or, if yourintuition is calling you, to put

(49:40):
your hands on other parts ofyour body, feel free.
If you'd like to experienceyour hands on your belly again
or hands on your chest, you canalso do one hand on the chest
and one hand on the belly, onthe chest and one hand on the
belly, and then, if possible, Iwould go ahead and close your

(50:02):
eyes for this experience andinhale through all those energy
centers.
So inhale from the feet, theroot, the sacral solar plexus
and the chest into the throatand a big exhale, big inhale

(50:25):
through the entire body, throughyour root, through your sacrum,
your belly, your chest expandsyour throat, and big exhale,
exhale.
So now you'll bring yourattention to the space between

(50:51):
your brows and simply keepingyour attention there as you
inhale and you exhale, and, justas you did before, just notice

(51:12):
what you feel.
No need to alter or change, just noticing the space between
the brow, and we'll stay therefor the next few minutes.
Thank you, thank you.

(53:07):
So if you'd like to take onemore big inhale through your
entire body, from the root toyour throat, to your head, and
exhale, feel free to open youreyes.
You might need to rub yourpalms together or even just

(53:32):
bring your hands to your heartand we will move on to the last
of the major energy centers, which is the crown chakra.
So this is an energy center thatisn't located in the body,

(53:53):
although we will be referencingphysical structures in the body.
It's actually located above thehead.
Some authors put this energycenter six inches above the head
.
Some say it's all the way to afoot above the head.
And again, referencing thatanatomy, the gland that's

(54:20):
associated with this area, notthe pituitary gland, but we
associate what's called thehypothalamus, which is above the
pituitary gland, and then onegland that's higher than that it
might not be marked on herewhich is called the pineal gland
.
So this graphic here just showsus again the pituitary gland,

(54:41):
the hypothalamus, which in reallife and gross anatomy, by the
way, this is almost invisible.
It doesn't look any differentfrom the rest of the structures
around it, although it'shormonally very active.
And then finally the pinealgland, which is a very small
gland deep within the brain andhas connections to our eyes

(55:05):
through the optic nerves.
So the pineal gland is where weproduce our melatonin and the
hypothalamus actually makes along list of hormones.
I did not think listing thosewould be particularly helpful to
us, but I did want to point outthat it actually controls the
pituitary gland, which thencontrols the rest of the glands

(55:27):
through a few of these hormones, including the thyrotropin
releasing hormone, whichcontrols the production of
thyroid indirectly, and then thecorticotropin-releasing hormone
, which controls the productionof cortisol indirectly.
But the hypothalamus actuallymakes a long list of hormones.
And then our melatonin, whichmost of us are familiar with,

(55:48):
helps us become sleepy at night.
We actually make melatonin allday long, it's just that we make
it in surges, the later in theday for us, and then, with a big
enough surge, we finally fallasleep.
So the crown chakra is ourconnection to the above, our

(56:10):
connection to the mysteries, thethings that are greater than us
, our spiritual connection toour God, just our higher
connection.
So that's where it's thoughtthat we connect ourselves.
And if the crown chakra is notvery open, what we might sense?
So we might feel, just feelingdisconnected, not having

(56:34):
intuition, definitely sleeptroubles.
It could be insomnia, it couldbe sleeping too much, many forms
of headache, including migraineheadaches, tension headaches,
even other headaches likecluster headaches.
If the energy is blocked in thecrown chakra, that may be how
it manifests A sense of anxiety.

(56:56):
If our crown chakra is blocked, that's when we can experience
what's called a dark night ofthe soul.
The term actually originatesfrom, I believe, the Catholic
church and I can't remember theactual source of it.
But the dark night of the soulyou could also call rock bottom.
That's basically if life iscrashing down on every front.

(57:17):
That could be a dark night ofthe soul and that's where a lot
of people come to when theystart to look for knowledge such
as this or to look deeper thantraditional medicine and what
you know.
That's basically everything'shitting all at once.
That's the dark night of thesoul Towards the end.
I'll give you a link.
I have an article on the darknight of the soul and what that

(57:37):
could look like.
Very painful period of time.
It is also a time when we grow, when we grow immensely
painfully, but we grow.
So here is the mantra for thecrown chakra.
Here is the mantra for thecrown chakra, and for this one,
just like with our last one, you'll relax your body, your

(58:01):
hands, you can place themwherever you feel guided.
So if you want to put yourhands somewhere on your body, or
even if you want to place oneor both hands on the top of your
head, and again we will inhalethrough the entire body, so

(58:28):
inhale from the root all the wayto your head and exhale, inhale
from the root all the way up.
Chest expands, throat is openand, with your eyes closed, just

(58:51):
bring your attention to the topof your head, your crown, and,
just as we did before, justsense, notice, no need to change
.
See, if you feel, tingling, warmth, coolness, air.
So Thank you.

(59:25):
So, with a final big inhale andexhale, when you feel ready,

(01:00:21):
you can let your eyes open, coming back.
