Brooklyn, NY based alt singer/songwriter Alex Nahas aka Bright Brown plays the rarely seen Chapman Stick and harbors a flair for cinematic mood, texture and atmosphere. As Bright Brown has evolved over the course of three LPs, two EPs and, most recently, the new full length, "Where The Ocean Once Was", reflecting the post 2020 world seen through his dark but hopeful lens, Nahas has carved out a niche that slots into the same lineage as David Byrne, David Bowie, Daniel Lanois and Nick Drake: all one-of-a-kind artists who shoehorned unorthodox approaches into highly digestible songs. There’s the unmistakable common thread of a seasoned songwriter with a thoughtful and reflective knack for rendering outside-world concerns in the landscape of the personal.  Originally hailing from San Francisco where he formed the critically acclaimed art rock ensemble, Laughingstock, Nahas has collaborated in the studio and on the road with John Vanderslice, Zoe Keating, DJ Shadow, Mates of State, and Jill Tracy amongst others. He's also shared the stage with the likes of Death Cab For Cutie, Richard Buckner, Spoon, Frank Black, and Robin Guthrie of The Cocteau Twins.
