Musician, composer, performer, audiovisual and multimedia artist, Rabih Gebeile is a multi-faceted Lebanese artist whose sound and visual universe oscillates between analogue rock roots and experimental developments. Gebeile’s projects follow one another and are never alike, his first major project was Backbone Party followed by Murmuration, then MONDO CANE, and he is now is currently working on the first album of his ongoing project, Sūr – the Arabic name for his hometown. This project blends genres, from the rock music that shaped his adolescence to the experimental sounds of David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Björk and Portishead’s Third, not to mention the rhythms and sounds of Middle Eastern music that have accompanied him throughout his life, from his mother’s transistor radio to the concert halls of Beirut. Gebeile mixes languages, with lyrics in English, French and Ar- abic.
