We're still in Charleston, and a new season is the perfect time to reflect on the experience of building the podcast so far! And what better person to lead that conversation than Charleston native and James Beard Award winner KJ Kearney, creator of Black Food Fridays, a platform dedicated to telling the stories of Black people in the food and beverage space! And rounding out the trio, we're joined by special guest Nneka Nurse, 2025 Black Women in Food award winner and founder of Best Dressed Plate, where the mission is to celebrate and promote the vibrant and diverse world of Caribbean cuisine.
This week, KJ and Nneka interview Kahja about what the journey creating the podcast has been as it enters its 6th season, what about her makes the platform unique, favorite food destinations, her thoughts on the growth and evolution of the podcast in the future, having audacity and realizing what makes you special, the myth of humility, and not giving up on your creative ambitions.
Recorded on location in Charleston, SC.
