(00:01):
What's going on? Oh my goodness, I'm late.
Yes, it's 5 minutes after 10. I said I'd be here at 10, and I
wasn't here at 10. But I am here now and I'm happy
to be spending time with you. My name is Shancha, from a
former police officer who talks about Traffic Safety, traffic
law and police stuff. And that's what we're going to
do right now for about an hour. If you've got questions about
Traffic Safety, if you want to know about the laws surrounding
(00:22):
tinted windows, headlights, speeding, anything you want to
know, Even if you want to know how to get on the job and become
a police officer yourself, I'm here to break it down for you.
It's what I do. It's what I love.
Now I am no longer a police officer.
It says so right under my name. It says former police officer.
But that doesn't mean I don't know stuff and things.
I kept all that stuff locked up here in the computer.
(00:45):
And I make it available to you twice a week, and it's usually
Tuesdays at 10 AM and Wednesdaysat 9:00 PM.
But because I have an event tonight, I am here at 10 AM so I
don't leave you hanging because I know you need answers to your
stuff and things. That's how I roll.
I got some exciting stuff to share with you and not all of it
is Traffic Safety related. So first of all, the event that
(01:08):
I'm going to tonight is actuallya Black Friday sales event for
Celebrity cruise ships. I'm a travel agent on the side.
That's not advertising, that's just what I'm doing.
So I'm excited to have some hoity toity talk about cruise
ship stuff tonight. That's going to be exciting.
And I've, I, I, I'm going to talk to you about your life.
(01:28):
We'll get to that. Then.
First of all, I want to thank mysponsors, Diamond and Diamond
Lawyers. Diamond and Diamond Lawyers are
the largest personal injury law firm in Canada.
And if you get hurt, you'd want to call them because they're
looking out for you. They help support the show.
They know how important Traffic Safety is.
And learning about these stuff and things really helps get the
(01:48):
word out. By the way, if you're watching
on TikTok, please tap the screenso your fingers go numb.
There's some kind of weird stuffgoing on on TikTok in that
they've got a competition for live streaming.
So people who aren't live streaming normally I think are
live streaming. Maybe that's what's going on.
But if you are on the platform, please send likes.
It helps get more people to the party.
The more people in the party, the better the question pool is.
And with more questions being more answers.
(02:09):
And you may not even know that you need to know the stuff
that's going to come up during this live stream.
It's what happens. You know, we start with with the
standard stuff and then most people who are licensed know
what's up. They know that they need to
follow the rules of the road. They know they they need to know
certain things, but you'd be shocked as to how many people
didn't know. I read a comment this morning in
(02:31):
relation to a video I posted about Jackrabbit starts.
It was actually a clip from the live stream.
And very often I'm posting clipsfrom this live stream on my
social media channels as proper individual, you know, reels or
vertical videos or shorts or whatever platform is calling
what they call it. Anyway, someone said I don't do
that thing. So Jack Rabbit starts where you
(02:51):
make a left turn in front of oncoming traffic just before or
just after the light turns green.
They jump the light and they tryand get where they're going
before anyone has a chance to respond.
That's stunt driving. And the person who responded
saying I used to do it all the time until I saw your show and
realized I was putting myself atrisk for stunt driving charges,
which is not fun. Stunt driving charges have
(03:13):
serious consequences. Yeah.
You know, 30 day suspension of your license, a 14 day vehicle
impound. And and that's before you even
get to court if you're convictedto the $10,000 fine, up to six
months in jail, One to three-year driving prohibition
on No. Yeah, no, yeah.
One to three-year driving prohibition on 1st conviction.
It's it's one of those things that you don't want in your
(03:33):
life. Thus you should not do the
things that trigger those charges.
And I know there's some people going a little faster these days
with automated speed enforcementbeing discontinued in the
province of Ontario. You don't want to get done for
for for doing dumb stuff and speeding 40 kilometers an hour
over the posted speed limit is stunt driving in school zones
(03:54):
and community safety zones. Well, actually anywhere that has
a speed limit under 80 kilometers an hour, which means
people who are going a little faster because they don't have
that fear of getting caught by automated speed enforcement
cameras are probably reaching speeds that are stunt driving
qualified. Now, I want to hear, I want to
find out. And I, I'm sure there's going to
be articles on this really, really soon because there are
(04:15):
jurisdictions in the province ofOntario that have decided to
keep their cameras rolling. They are still monitoring the
traffic. And I hope they reach out to at
least tell the people that they're being caught.
Now, some people might do that for props.
Some people might just think that that is a cool way to roll,
you know, get a letter in the mail saying, yeah, we caught you
going really real fast and we can't do anything about it.
But I I have hopes for the future.
I see Nicholas Rizzi and Julie Massey.
(04:37):
Julie is right here with a good more good morning shot.
Did I not bring water? I did not bring water.
I I Will Survive without water. It will be dry in here.
Oh, wait. I have water.
I have water. I don't know how many years it's
been in storage here. Is it bad when?
(04:58):
Yeah, it's it, it, it probably causes bad stuff and things, but
we're going to drink it anyway, because when when the going gets
tough, the tough drink old waterthey found in the basement.
It's sealed, right? What could happen?
Those forever chemicals leachingin from the plastic.
I mean, what could go wrong? I hope you're having a great
day. I I something that I Oh, hold on
one. First of all, acknowledge the,
the the Rizzi. Let's see here.
(05:21):
Yeah. What does Nicholas say?
Nicholas says if someone was done driving, you tell them pull
over, but they only give them a sorry if someone was done
driving and you pull them over, but only give them a verbal
warning, something bad is happening to you when you get
back to the station, Right. What kind of punishment do you
face? Or is there a record of your
work? Well, if I pull some of them
done driving, there's no, there's not necessarily anything
(05:43):
on the books anywhere that says that they were done driving.
I saw what I saw. I pull them over if I tell them,
hey, lucky you didn't hurt anybody.
Just keep it slow. That's between me and the
driver. Now, is it likely that that's
something I would have done? No.
I would have charged them. I would have taken their cars,
and I would have tried to teach them a lesson that would save
their life later. High fiving someone for doing
(06:04):
dumb stuff doesn't work for me. But there's no punishment
process for applying the law. That's what discretion is for.
That's why police officers have it, because not every
interaction requires charges to be laid.
Now, Charlie. Oh, Charles says, what do you do
if someone's going 65 and an 80 on a long stretch that couldn't?
What is this? What do you do if someone's
(06:25):
going 65 and an 80 on a long stretch that you couldn't make a
safe pass and you have ever given a ticket for going slow?
Oh, so 65 and an 80 isn't something ticket worthy.
That's just someone who's not driving at the speed limit.
But the speed limit is a limit, not a starting point, not a
minimum. It's where you can drive all day
long and and be a safe driver. 65 and an 80 is not a problem.
(06:46):
The person who wants to go faster, that's their problem.
There's no ticket for someone doing 65.
If they were doing 40 and an 80,I think that's unreasonable. 65
and an 80? I don't think so.
So there you go. Oh, Nicholas has a follow up
about stunt driving. He wants to know if it's six
months in jail or $10,000 or is it both for stunt driving.
(07:06):
So it's a 2 two, $10,000 and it depends.
Most people tend to see fines inthe lower area unless it's a
repeat offender. So the the the justice of the
peace, the person sitting at thebench making the decisions that
independent Tri RFAC has the opportunity to to give jail time
and or fine. But more often than not it is
only a fine and usually it's in the lower range.
(07:28):
Again, circumstances matter and it could be something a lot
higher. It really depends on how they
feel and you know what the circumstances are surrounding
the charges if you go to a subsequent charge.
So you've been convicted, you'vedone your, your, your business,
you've paid your fines, but you do it again because you just
don't learn from your mistakes. Well then they can give you that
2 to $10,000 fine range and theypick what it is.
(07:50):
As well as a three to 10 year driving prohibition and up to
six months in jail. But again, rare to see jail,
although I have seen and heard of it happening more and more.
They're they're they're losing patience with bad driving.
The bad driver pool is certainlyvery deep.
And that's what we're saying. Hey, my name is Shanchi Promo, a
(08:11):
former police officer talks about Traffic Safety, traffic
law and police stuff. And have I got something
exciting to talk to you about? OK.
It's only exciting to me becauseI like to give you a deal.
I think it's something that willhelp you and that is to talk
about my friends and I finally will let me pull it up on
screen. Well, it's not really, it's just
a link. Here you go.
(08:32):
I have a coupon code for you, 50% off your will.
Do you have a will? 50% of Canadians don't, or at
least at least 50% of Canadians don't have a will.
If you go to ifinallywill.com, you can create one online and
get 50% off in the process. Now I spent thousands of dollars
getting a will created. There's not going to charge you
(08:55):
that kind of money. This is something that you will
protect your family. And we'll talk more about Wills,
but I wanted to get it out thereand say it because I know Carlos
is watching going. He's saying it right now.
Anyway, We talked about this last night and I said we're,
we're just doing it. We're putting it up on the site.
I, I want to, I want to give my listeners an opportunity to, to
have a deal. And there's your, your deal for
(09:17):
the day. They're sponsoring the show.
It's something I'm really excited about.
They've been talking about this, this, this platform for a long
time and it's finally here. And actually I'm getting my will
done today. I'm updating it.
I have a will, but wills change.Things happen and you need to
keep it up to date. I'm going to do that today.
I told you I would, Carlos. I'm going to update it today, I
promise, OK, Charles says, well Charles, we talked about
(09:39):
Charles. Tim says some states have a
minimum speed and a maximum speed and I like the idea.
That's Tim who who says that andI've seen that and I think it's
a great deal. Quebec has that and I think that
it makes it very clear and Ontario traffic law is not at
all clear. So when everything is just
subjective, and it could be thisor it could be that, or it
(09:59):
depends how I feel, that's less good.
I'd much rather have it written in stone and then everybody
knows the game and everyone can play responsibly within the, the
rules. So if it says minimum 40, you
don't do 39, but you know, you're safe at 40 and, and, and
everyone knows it. I, I think that, you know,
trying to measure what's reasonable.
(10:21):
It, it, it, it, it, it's so subjective, it doesn't work
because most people from my experience, think that 130 is
reasonable in 100 zone. So there you go, Hamid says.
What about going 90 to 75 for overtaking for just a few
seconds? So you want to know if you can
do the speed of 90 kilometers anhour and it posted 75 kilometers
(10:41):
an hour just just to pass for a few seconds.
And the answer is no, not legally.
I would have it. Well, how about this if I was an
officer on the road watching that I caught you doing 90 to
75. I pulled you over and ticked
you. It's not legal and I'm not aware
of any 70, 5 zones. I'm I'm familiar with many 70
zones, but either way, not cool.Speeding is illegal even at the
(11:04):
1 kilometer over, even though noone's pulling you over for one
kilometer over. And then we always get into the
little discussion over how much is acceptable, how much can you
legally get away with speeding? And the answer is you're not
supposed to speed. It's all and we, we say that
and, and people still speed. So we see what happens.
(11:25):
We'll come back to it. We got more, more from Nicholas
and oh, we have someone who saysthey'd like to collab.
OK, I, I can talk to you about collabs.
We have, we have, we have lots of collaboration things actually
some exciting, exciting stuff. I, I talking to some people
South of the border. I'm, we've, we've got a, a
(11:47):
couple of coppers, one from Texas, one from another state.
And the, the whole concept is tobring them on and talk about the
differences in law between theirstate and Canadian law, because
it does change both federally and, and, and state and, and
here we have provincially differences in traffic laws, but
we have federal laws when it comes to criminality.
And it is very interesting if I do say so myself.
(12:08):
OK, we have got, what is this? What is this?
I got some notes. I'm going to read them.
We talked about this yesterday. I asked about why on earth is
someone calling me we're not answering it because I don't
know the number don't talk to medon't talk to me.
(12:29):
I'm busy I'm live streaming. I I find that lately whenever I
go live, I get the phone ringingand sometimes it's from people I
know and in that case it was someone I don't know and I I
used to have it set to do not disturb and I think I got to do
that right now. Reduce oh here live, I just put
me in I put myself in live mode,so it goes straight to
voicemail. All right, there is a couple of
(12:51):
fatal collisions recently and I'm, I, I'm testing this out,
but we haven't, we have a mailing list.
A, a mailing list is the wrong word newsletter.
And my goal is to summarize major stories weekly, if not
daily, depending on the volume of stuff that's interesting and
worthy of sharing. So my plan is if you subscribe
to it, to give you that kind of stuff to your inbox as well as
(13:14):
what we do on the show. But since the show is really
just two days a week back-to-back, what do you do for
the rest of the days? Well, if you subscribe, you'll
get updates now. Oh, what 11 video.
And I don't know if anyone saw this.
There was a number of people talking about the fact that
certain private buses are driving on the shoulders on the
(13:35):
way to Cambridge. And it's, it's something that
I'd never heard of. And thank you to the folks who
jumped out and, and, and texted me or, or, or DM Ed me on TikTok
because I was going to respond saying there's nothing legal
about that. And then I found out that sure
enough, between Milton and in the Cambridge area or in Milton
and Cambridge, there are sections of the highway where
(13:56):
private companies are contractedand are allowed to drive on the
shoulder. And I thought that was wild, but
the folks that were recording itobviously were in the dark just
as I was. Interesting, interesting,
interesting. I did not know that you can
drive on the shoulder. Well, not you can drive.
They can drive on the shoulder, but it's a very, very short run
from everything. Have you ever seen this?
I'd love to know, I'd love to hear from you if you've ever
seen this in action and is it useful?
(14:17):
Do you support it? Do you think they're private
companies now? This was I think they're wheel
trans buses that they're gettingthe ability to drive through in
that section. How about fog?
Are you in the foggy area right now?
82 XI see you, you're waving. Do you do you see the OR did you
have fog? Because I woke up the fog, but I
went to bed with fog and it was so foggy that I near like I had
(14:39):
to stop and read street signs toknow how to get home.
You, I didn't even recognize the, the areas that I had that
that I was driving through. It was crazy.
Akayla Draconis, how you doing? You see greetings in
salutations. Not on the road to Kingston yet.
He's got a he's got to do some driving.
I did get his dad jokes. We're doing something a little
(15:00):
different today. I have dad jokes from Akayla,
which I'm excited to play. So he'll read the dad jokes.
And if you have dad jokes that you want to share, please share
them in the comments. I will throw them on the screen
at the end of the show because that's how we roll.
If you're watching, my name is Shawn Shapiro.
I'm a former police officer, talks about Traffic Safety,
traffic law on police stuff. And we're talking about that
(15:21):
right now. If you've got questions, I have
answers and if you want to talk about them, let me know.
That's what I'm here to do. But we're also just chilling
out. I don't want to make it sound
like this is something we do at high speed, even though I tend
to be at the high speed pace because we usually have a ton of
ton of things to talk about. And here we're, we're slowing it
down a little bit. I kind of want to give it the
(15:43):
the after dark vibe, even thoughit's daytime.
One, we just flew by $1.00. One where it's, it's winter.
Is it qualified as winter right now?
Where does $1.00 come from? Maybe we bought bananas.
I think bananas are what brings the bugs to the party.
OK, had an interesting interviewwith the Globe and Mail and I
(16:04):
think we've talked about this briefly over the last couple
days, but at least it feels likeI have whether it's been offline
or online, someone's slowing down to turn right.
So the question in the article was is it illegal to slow down
and turn right? I was shocked at the question.
Frankly, I, I didn't get it. The what would be illegal about
(16:26):
it? But this person was very
concerned and they actually, they actually wrote into the
newspaper to say is it legal? And the, the, the magical folks
at the Global Mail reached out to me to get the answer to the
question. And no, it's not illegal.
It's just good driving. You should slow down and be, you
(16:46):
know, confident that it's a clear way to go.
And it's funny because as I comment on these things and have
these discussions about Traffic Safety and then go for a drive
myself, I start hyper analyzing those questions.
So I'm driving behind someone who's about to make a right turn
and I find myself checking what they would be.
Even though I plan on going straight.
(17:07):
I'm looking to see if they're about to hit somebody too.
I don't know if it's because I'mexpecting the worst outcome, but
I'm looking down the road and I and it is, it is definitely
interesting. Anybody watch Doc Compton on
online? He's a, he's a guy that that
messes with scam callers. Does he scam the scammers like
he hacks and he changes their voicemail?
(17:28):
My daughter and I were watching this for an hour yesterday just
loving this guy mess with a dudewho was trying to outright get
his details and steal his money.Scam calls are a real problem
and there's a ton of new ones. I recently got a few that I plan
to to share with you all becauseI think it's worthy.
I I I don't think people understand just how bad it is,
(17:50):
how prevalent it is. Everything from fake Rogers
phishing scams where they send you a page to to ask you for
things. Oddly enough, I get, you know,
requests for companies I don't even work with.
I don't have an account with, with with every bank, but every
bank seems to, every scammer seems to think I do, and they
send me all these requests. There was one recently.
(18:12):
I actually took a picture of it.I was going to share with you,
but apparently not right now because I can't find it.
Yeah, there's a there's a whole bunch of there's there's one
that I thought was really good. Was it Starbucks?
No, that's not it. I got a couple of screenshots.
Yeah, Yeah, I think these screenshots with the intention
of sharing right away and then Idon't, although I will share
this one with you. What would be the charge for
(18:33):
this? All the green in the picture is
transparent, but they've they'vethey've they've done a heck of a
job. Apparently this picture was
taken in downtown Toronto. The things we see anyway,
scammers don't get scammed. Don't get scammed.
Don't don't share your information.
I like to say hello and then simply leave them alone, say
(18:58):
nothing, put it on mute. Jonathan says insecure load.
Well, that's secure. It's it's I, I, I think it's
secure. There's 900 straps on that
thing. But, but insecure load, it's
certainly maybe, maybe we can goand say it's way overweight.
I'm surprised. In fact, that's probably stopped
there because the roof. Well, OK, I I'm going to say as
(19:21):
I close in here, I'm going to say driver view obstructed.
What do you think man? That someone even considered
this is amazing. I I really hope it's it's AI,
but it's claimed that it was actually seen there.
Jonathan just switched from Instagram.
Apparently is is the view betterhere?
Oh, and Tracy loves Doc. Awesome.
(19:44):
Tim says Doc is great. Yeah.
He had like like 2000 people watching him yesterday when I
was watching 2 or 3000. It was great.
Which 10 commercial Exp. Doug says you mentioned roadside
test for impaired a day or two ago.
Since when are their physical tests?
Oh, they've always been physicaltests.
(20:05):
So we're talking about roadside sobriety.
There was a, a, a couple of cases that came up where
officers were standing by waiting for a roadside screening
device. So when I would go to work, I
would pray for duty and I would grab my gear.
That I would, I would load my car and then pray for duty.
And one of the, the items that Ialways brought with me was a
(20:28):
roadside screen device. And that's the little device
that you blow into. And it will tell you if you're
good under the legal limit, under the Ontario legal limit,
if you're in the Warren range, which is over the Ontario limit
and under the criminal limit. And it was just, it was just one
of three things. It was going to give you red,
yellow or, or sorry, green, yellow or red, depending if
(20:48):
you're good to go. Not going anywhere with a
suspension for three days or being arrested and taken to the
station to comply with a breath demand because it says you have
more than the, the, the criminallimit and they're going to go
after you for that. So when there was when there
weren't enough devices availableor officers didn't sign them
out, they would wait there to make a demand.
(21:10):
Well, what they did is they trained everybody in roadside
sobriety. So while there was always an
option to do this, they actuallystandardized the testing and
brought everybody into the, intothe form to do that.
Now you have the option if you have a device, do the roadside,
the roadside screen device. If you don't have a device, you
can do the, the testing as you were trained to do by way of
(21:30):
sobriety testing. You know, the whole walk down 1
foot in front of the other, touch your nose and all that
stuff. And the officers are trained to
make the observations and and determine if they can come up
with suspicion reasonable enoughto lay the charge or to make a
demand for a device at the station.
(21:51):
Yeah. Ex Doug says no, I mean, finger
to nose, etcetera. Basically speech driving.
Yes, yes, yes, totally, totally, totally got you.
Oh, he says once a roadside is administered, then impaired is
out the window. I was a breath tech.
Nobody ever did finger to nose walking straight line.
(22:11):
Yeah, I hear you brother. So listen, I if I saw someone
who was had visible signs of impairment, I arrested them for
impaired, period. No box needed.
Then I took them for a breath test.
If they if they're doing it because they have a reasonable
rounds, then yeah, they have no thing.
Now it's not at the window though for for impaired.
(22:33):
So if you if you box them and you didn't have grounds for
impaired, but after their adrenaline went down in the car
ride over. I've added the impaired based on
observations that I've had subsequent to having them in my
custody. So I've had it work and I've had
it stick end user says is it legal to cover my whole car in
(22:54):
Christmas lights? Oh man, I'm glad you asked this.
I don't know if I can make this.Well, yeah, we we can make this
work. Let's let's see here we going to
do I I actually got a video and I got distracted when I got the
coupon codes to share with you for for I finally will, but here
check this out. I'm going to I'm going to air
drop this to my computer and I'll upload it and then we'll
(23:17):
we'll share it. There we go.
You hear the you can hear the file.
Hang on a second here. I want to show you a Christmas
lights. There's a couple actually, I
have to have a little couple stand by here.
We got video. We probably don't see it on the
screen, but it's coming. It's stuck on.
Here we go. It's going to put this up and
(23:39):
process it. It won't take very long, but
it's it's so absolutely appropriate for this
conversation that I have to share.
I have two videos actually. Here we go, here's the first
one. A 21 year old driver was feeling
a little festive, but now payingthe price.
(24:01):
Ontario Provincial Police said an officer spotted the vehicle
decorated with colorful Christmas lights in Norfolk
County on Saturday, but it wasn't the holiday cheer that
caught their attention. The truck clocked in at 160
kilometers an hour, double the speed limit, netting the driver
a 30 day suspension of his license and the impoundment of
his colorful lit up Christmas truck for 14.
(24:25):
That'll dim the bulbs. Yeah, I like that.
And then the other one is this one.
This is crazy. You think you're the coolest guy
in the parking lot and then thisguy shows up.
I'm going to get music flags forthat one, but that's crazy.
This this is an array. I I've actually seen some color
changing rap, but this is next level where it's fully animated.
(24:50):
Is it legal? I was having this discussion
earlier. Are you projecting light or are
you illuminating the stuff? So that is is quite bright and I
would argue that that's projecting light, which would
make that illegal because you can only project certain colors
in certain directions. However, there is luminescent
where it just glows and it wouldn't be of sufficient
(25:12):
brightness to be considered projecting on your projecting
light. It's you're illuminating.
So I think it depends and I think everything is arguable in
court to determine which one's which.
But yeah, are you allowed to project?
You're allowed to have Christmaslights.
The argument is that you can't have light face certain color
light in certain directions. So it is problematic.
(25:37):
There's something else I was going to share with you.
Let me see if I can find it. OK anyway.
Oh, and user, thank you very much for the the Rose.
A gift was given and that goes to better traffic.
So this this show falls under the umbrella of the Canadian
organization for better Traffic Safety and Education, whose goal
it is to make roads safer through outreach like this show.
(26:00):
Yeah. So any any monies received goes
directly to the not-for-profit. And I thank you for that.
Thank you for the support awesomeness, Carlos says.
What's the minimum reason that Ican get pulled over by a cop?
The minimum reason this is I should put this, put the put it
right here, put it right there here on the screen.
The minimum reason, there is no minimum reason.
In the province of Ontario, if you are driving a motor vehicle,
(26:23):
you are required by law to be licensed, to be insured, be
sober and have a vehicle that meets safety requirements.
And any police over can put thatpolice open.
Police officer can pull you overat any time to verify that you
are in fact licensed, that you are in fact insured, or at least
that the vehicle is, that the vehicle is safe for the road and
that you are sober and capable of operating that vehicle.
(26:45):
So you can be pulled over just for driving lawfully.
And folks say, well, that's not fair, Shouldn't I have to break
some law? No, you're driving the car on a
on a road and we can verify thatinformation.
Now does that happen every block?
No, and usually it's in combination with driving.
But it's good to know because people say I didn't do anything
wrong. Why are you pulling me over?
(27:05):
And people get nervous when you pull them over.
Sometimes it's just because we're pulling it over the water
from the the archive. It's not like wine.
It doesn't get better, but in this case it doesn't taste bad.
That's good. OK, let's see what's going on.
We got, I got to scroll up here and see what's got.
(27:26):
I got too many mice. I got too many mice.
Yes, I've actually one's a trackPaul and one's a trackpad, but
I've had to separate them. Mac does something really
amazing. If you have multiple computers,
iPads, you can actually scroll with one mouse across all the
screens. And it was, it was working well
until it stopped working well. And I gave up on that.
So I have two keyboards now and two mouse controlled devices.
(27:48):
And now, of course, I'm used to it the old way and I, I
sometimes forget. Let us see what's up.
Ah, an experimental ad read. If you're 18 to 24, this applies
to you. You might not think you need a
will, but you do. You have belongings, you have a
car, possibly you have digital accounts, maybe a pet.
(28:09):
You'll need a will before you. You need a will before you need
a will. That's what it is.
And you should go to ifinallywill.com and use code
AATC for 50% off. I've never done an ad read on
the show and it it it, I'm sure it'll get, it'll get easier and
it'll flow better. But I've never thought about
(28:30):
doing this until we just starteddoing it right there.
How'd it how'd it go? If you don't have a will, you
really should get one. That's that's the story.
I have one. I need to update mine.
I'm doing it after the show. FM promotions.
Just I see you in the in the in the show on Instagram.
You like the Instagram. You're always on the Instagram
anyway. FM promotions, not a paid plug,
(28:50):
but they are magical folks and Iget all my promo stuff there.
I've been using them since 1999 for various organizations.
And I I was just, I went to an event because I was, I'm not
letting the cat out of the bag yet, but I'm involved with a
home home fortification company.Oh yes, stop them, break
insurance before they happen. And when I got to the filming of
(29:11):
a commercial, they handed me a couple of packages.
One was a jacket, one was a sweater and on said wrapping FM
promotions was there and I, I didn't even plug them.
I didn't even give them the, the, the the lead.
And they went to the best peopleto to get stuff done.
FM promotions check them up. OK, yeah, I've known forever.
(29:31):
They're awesome people. Actually, I got to come by and
see you guys. It's it's they always have a, a,
a Christmas open house at the, at the shop and I, I go there,
I'm having a have a, have a espresso or something.
You know, it's nice to catch up with friends.
They're good peeps. Let's see what's going on.
If you're watching on TikTok, please hit the follow button,
(29:52):
hit the likes, tap the screen and all that jazz.
I know there's lots going on andand because it hasn't stopped.
Let's see here. I want to.
I'm curious what's going on here.
Stand by, stand by. I'm really curious what's
happening. This is something up with the
TikTok. It's wonky.
(30:13):
Interesting. Yeah, that's two days in a row.
And I, I, I probably did it to myself.
I I they, they, they send you these things, it pops up and
says, hey, compete in a, in a live stream extravaganza
business. And then I'm coming in off app
by way of using Restream. By the way, if you want
Restream, not a plug. I just happened to see that this
is the this is the company that I use for multi streaming.
(30:36):
They actually have a a crazy promo.
I think it's 40 or 50% off theirannual subscription for Black
Friday. So if you're looking to do
streaming, they are really good with the online studio.
You can do everything. I use them and I also use
something called Ecam Pro who also have a black.
In fact, everyone has a Black Friday thing.
And then tonight I'm going to find out about the Celebrity
Cruise Black Friday thing. So I'm interested in that some
(30:58):
some good stuff. We'll see how good and I'm
curious what they're serving fordinner or, or, or doers.
Where's where's doers? Whatever it is, let's see here.
OK, we got this. Let me go open the chat up in
here because I closed it for a second.
Lots of people want to sell me followers.
That's interesting. I love it.
(31:18):
That's what I think Twitch and Kik all, all the tik toks or all
the messages I get from them arelike, let me let me give you
1000 followers for $16.00 or some crap like that.
I, I don't need to pay for followers, but I appreciate you,
Mary Lynn. Thank you for the hello coming
in through X Good morning, Sean. And Nicholas does not blame
(31:38):
people who get nervous when theyget pulled over and he says I
don't blame them. I get nervous when I get pulled
over, but then I start talking and then I start asking the the
interesting questions and now the cop is nervous on what the
other question might be true. Really.
I saw a video today where there were some some folks that were
at an event and I don't know what the event was, but they
(31:59):
were there, you know, preaching the gospel and they were being
told to leave because I guess they were interfering or
upsetting the people who were there for some kind of
alternative event. And they were, I'm assuming
veterans in that whatever they were, they were they were built
and they were knowledgeable. And when an officer came up to
(32:21):
them and said you got to leave, they said based on what he says,
because if we don't, if you don't leave, we're going to have
a conversation. And then they said, well, what
are you going to do if we don't leave?
And the cop walked away. When you try and threaten and
you don't know your law and you don't know your authorities, you
look like an idiot. And unfortunately, that cop
(32:42):
looked like a moron. I, I listen, I love the police.
I'm a super supporter of police. But when you're on camera and
you don't know your shit, you'regoing to get called out on it.
Simple as that. And this guy got schooled by a
bunch of folks who knew their stuff.
They understood their rights. Now this was in the United
States and the and different laws apply.
But yeah, they're, they're they're I don't even pretend to
(33:02):
understand the the, the, the, the breadth of the American, you
know, amendment laws because they're like the protected
thing. I'm I'm not leaving.
We're doing it. Go away.
And dude, back down and left. I was very impressed.
Rogue Jaguar, good morning to you too.
They sent good morning messages.Thank you for the good morning.
Let's see here. OK, wrong way Eclipse.
(33:28):
I don't have that. A lot of oh, I got into, I think
I got into this conversation yesterday briefly, but I want to
go back to it because I keep reading the my my x.com
dialogues like the back and forth with people.
There are some folks that are really upset that I spoke,
spoken about E kick scooters andelectric unicycles and E bikes
(33:49):
too much. They said they don't kill people
as much as cars do and you shouldn't spend as much time
talking about them. It's unfair.
You need to focus on the stuff that hurts more people.
And to that I say, well, no, I don't.
I I can talk about whatever I want to talk about, but I don't
understand why we we want to ignore one group and focus on
another. Why would I ignore one level of
(34:11):
bad driving or or illegal use ofvehicles just because there's
more people doing something else?
First of all, I'm not a police officer anymore.
I can talk about whatever the hell I want, but what's the
issue? Why, why, why don't like That's
like saying more people are getting hurt from drunk driving
than distracted driving, which isn't the fact, by the way, it's
(34:32):
the other way around. So we're going to ignore one,
but we're going to. It's just silly to me.
People get hurt because of all of the things we should talk
about all of this stuff. By the way, what are you doing
for the holidays? Are you doing any party
planning? Are you, are you hosting?
We, we should really talk about.Maybe I can get one of my lawyer
friends to talk about the responsibilities hosts have when
serving alcohol, something that we don't talk about anymore.
(34:54):
But it was incredibly important back in the day.
It was something that I rememberbeing having drilled into me
that if I'm serving alcohol and I serve alcohol beyond the point
of of or to excess to the point of inebriation, that I could be
taking on some of the responsibilities, someone
leaving my house and hurting somebody, which is, is something
(35:15):
that I don't think anyone realizes anymore.
Now my question is for the younger folks watching, is
drinking still a big thing? I had someone tell me that that
folks don't drink as much. Some people say they partake in
other things instead. And that's my question.
Is drinking a thing? Apparently cruise ships aren't
making as much money on the alcohol because there's fewer
(35:36):
people who are drinking and the all you can drink bonanzas that
people used to go to. Like, I mean, all you all all
inclusive resorts used to be allabout just boozing and
apparently now it's about experiences and going in and
taking Instagram pictures. So I'd like to know what you
think. What would be your focus on a
vacation? Is it going to relax and drink
(35:59):
beer till you can't walk? Or is it all about getting the
perfect sunset on camera? I like to know.
OK, Tailgating. Oh yeah, we talked about
tailgating. Should electric unicycles ever
be legal on roads? I don't think they should.
What do you think? Electric unicycles are these
(36:20):
devices, you buy them from overseas.
They have some level of independent balanceability.
You know, you, it's not side to side, but they have centrifugal
force balance. But you can lean forward and go
forward and these things can go like 7080 a hundred kmh.
They're they're and, and it credits the people who ride
them. They're wearing armor, they're
wearing helmets. I totally appreciate that.
But should they be legal? There's no brakes, Literally no
(36:43):
brakes. It reduces the speed of the of
the motor to the the wheel. But if you were to apply brakes,
truly you'd fall flat on your face instantly because there's
nothing holding up, just fall over.
Which I kind of want to watch someone do just because I'm
curious for science really. So should they be on the road?
I mean, I always talk about the same collision that I saw and it
(37:06):
was a guy turning in front of traffic which ultimately hit him
because oddly enough, when he made the turn and he put his
hand out saying stop the car, didn't the car just hit him and
snapped his leg? I would say as close to clean
off as you could because it was still stuck together with the,
the, the, the, the flexible, youknow, rubbery stuff called skin.
(37:28):
But man, it was a gruesome, gruesome story or, or thing to
watch. Like, you know, those videos you
watch when someone's getting like, like they, they are
skateboarding down the, the railing and then they fall in
the right in the middle and you go, Oh, that's, that's the kind
of response we all had when we saw the video.
The guy's leg folding backwards. No, not a natural look, No good.
(37:50):
Jonathan says. I love the people at TPS, but
they seem to they seem too hectic to want to work there.
You seem too hectic to want to work there.
Oh, the the like the city. Oh, sorry, sorry.
He says. I love the people at TPS, but
the city seems too hectic to want to work there.
It's a very different speed. So, Jonathan, the nice thing
about working at the Toronto Police Service is that you never
(38:11):
know what you're going to get. Every day is an adventure.
It's like a box of chocolates. Really.
Yeah. It it I'm going to make a new
meme instead of, you know, I think I'm going to make AT shirt
instead of life is like a box ofchocolates.
It's going to be working at TPS.It's like a box of chocolates.
Yeah, the red stapler, I can totally envision this now.
I, I'm totally posting this later.
(38:32):
Anyway, it, it, it is definitelya place to get experience and
learn. And it's go, go, go from from
punch in to punch out. So I think that's a good thing.
But I can totally appreciate like my friends that have moved
to other places, like we're herejust checking on car dealerships
to make sure the cars haven't left.
(38:55):
What are you doing? Not much.
I'm waiting for a call and they can go an entire day without a
call. That's too slow for me.
That's just me. M says if cannabis is found in
my vehicle in Ontario, can they search it?
Well, how do they find the cannabis?
A plain sight cannabis? Yeah, they can search the area
around the EU. You can't have cannabis in a
(39:16):
car, right? You can't have open cannabis
that's unsealed. There's there's strict
conditions as to how you can transport them.
So they have to know about it. So if you had cannabis out in
the open, then yeah, they can search the area around the
driver and then that that could expand things.
They might, depending on what they're finding.
They could apply for a warrant if need, if they if they
determined it was needed. But in an initial search or
(39:37):
they're arresting you or then then subsequent to arrest, like
it all depends. But yeah, I'd like to know more
about that. What L Engineering says.
I never got hurt from a car. I definitely got sore from a
scooter, a sore foot from a scooter.
I never got hurt from a car. I definitely have a sore foot
from a scooter. Yeah.
You know, I have a an electric kick scooter.
(40:00):
I think it's a great vehicle. I do.
I think if you're using them in areas that they're legal, I
think they're fantastic. I don't have one of the Super
duper fast ones that would be illegal.
But when I got hurt from my motorcycle collision, that's
exactly what I used for sort of a rehab vehicle to get me
around. If you're just tuning in, my
name is Sean Chappelle. I'm a former police officer,
talks about Traffic Safety, traffic law and police stuff and
(40:21):
I. Want you to be safe on the road.
I want to make sure that you have a safe, happy and and and
good time over the holiday season.
It's a big deal and tragedy is not something we want to have
you involved in. We don't want anyone to have
tragedy because it's tragedy andit it tends to suck.
So there's a couple things we can do.
We can try and plan as best as we can to be safe, but that
(40:44):
doesn't guarantee anything. It doesn't.
You can have all the best intentions and you can be great,
but other people could be tools on the road and put you at risk.
So you have to have your head ona swivel and we have to try and
get everybody to be on the same page about safety.
Of course, we don't want anyone to drink, drive, use any kind of
party, party favors or, or or whatever we're calling it now.
(41:05):
No drugs, no alcohol. If you're driving for everybody,
please. In fact, don't even do it if
you're riding cyclists who get into situations because they
were impaired. Bad day at the office?
Yeah, no bueno. Bob says secondary highways, one
lane each direction left turningvehicle.
(41:26):
OK to pass on gravel shoulder. No.
So Bob, good, good question. Gravel shoulders are not
permissible. It's it's pass on, on right.
So there's a, there's a charge for passing on the right and
it's specifically for these scenarios.
And the only time you're allowedto pass on the right in those
scenarios is if there's a paved shoulder and it's safe to do
(41:46):
them. So this is when someone's
slowing down the turn or has stopped the turn.
And if it's a paved shoulder, you can go around, but if it's
gravel, you can't. Jackson Pond wants to know what
the rules are on window tint forfront side windows and
windshield. Well, let's start with
windshield because you're not allowed to have any windshield
tint on a vehicle that was manufactured 2017 or newer.
You can't have a tin strip across the top, but you can have
(42:08):
that 6 inch, 6 inches. It's from the top of the screen.
Is it 3 inches or three inches? Frickin can't remember.
It's the it's the AS1 line. Anyway, I was going to call it
PS1 line, then we're going to goplay video games.
But from the top of the windshields to the AS1 line or
73 centimeters. I want to say what does that
(42:31):
work out to my my Oh, come on the conversation about
centimeters to inches. It's 73.
Hang on. Millimeters.
(42:54):
What the heck is it? I'm I'm not going to do the the
research. We're going to ask ChatGPT on
vehicles manufactured 2016 or older.
How much tint can you have on the front windshield from the
top of the windshield to the AS1line?
Because my measurement memory isout the window. 73 centimeters
(43:16):
would be ridiculous. That's that 73mm.
Why do I have 73 in my mind? Anybody in the audience know,
let me know. 75mm. What was 70 something 75mm.
I was close with 73 or the AS1 line.
Oh, this is this is the kind of stuff I like.
(43:38):
People argue that you should useChatshu, BT and AI for more than
Google. I say no.
I say it's great for for, you know, recovering some basic
stuff you forgot. But you have to know your stuff
begin with because AI can screw up large and if you just listen
to it, you end up being the guy on the assault.
Was he representing himself in court?
(43:59):
And he he was citing cases that were completely fictional.
That didn't go very well for him.
No bueno. No.
So yeah, that's the windshield. Anything newer than 2017, you
can't have any tint. The windows directly left and
right of the driver, you can have up to 30% light blockage,
meaning 70% VLT, 70% visual light.
(44:20):
Transmission must be getting through those windows.
It's not that dark. You can't have dark tint on
those windows. You can't have reflective tint
either. Now there's two different
sections that deal with the, thetint.
If you can't see inside, If I, if a police officer walks up and
can't identify you, determines that you have obscured the
interior of your motor vehicle with a color or reflective tint,
(44:41):
that's $110 fine. And it's a it's, it's not fun.
Now some people say that's tinted by the subscription
system. So they just got a ticket for
obstructed window, obscured interior and they go, thank you
very much, $110 off doing my business.
And I'll just wait till I get pulled over again.
And people do that right up until they get a court summons
because you can be summonsed to court rather than getting a
(45:01):
ticket with a fixed price because then the fine goes up to
1000 or has the maximum ability of being up to $1000 in court
because you're just not getting it.
If you're abusing the the wonderful warning of a fixed
price ticket, you're not realizing that things can get
worse. Now, if it's more than 30%
blockage and 70% BLT, not BLTBLT, just sounds like a good
(45:23):
sandwich. But if it's more than 70%, well,
that's a problem. And then you can have a
situation where you're getting your license plates pulled for
unsafe motor vehicle and gettinga charge that's much bigger than
simply a tinted window charge. Yeah.
You know, it's interesting stuffand things.
That's what I like to say. If you're watching, My name is
Sean. If you're watching, you're
seeing what I'm saying. If you're watching but don't
(45:44):
know who I am, my name is Shawn Shapiro.
I'm a former police officer who talks about Traffic Safety,
traffic law and police stuff. That's what it is.
And if you've ever been interested in becoming a police
officer, let's see what's going on in the world of recruiting
because you know what I haven't done in a while?
I haven't looked at the current opportunities offered by the
Toronto police. Let's look at this.
(46:05):
Tps.ca/careers, I am eager to know what's going on, and I hope
you are too. Here we go.
Careers. I could probably.
Can I do it this way? Reverse that?
(46:27):
That's better. Better on that side anyway.
Whatever. I'm staring off into the abyss.
I guess I could do it this way, and I can do it that way.
Hang on. Trying to figure out how to No.
I feel like it's strange to havemy face cut off on the screen
(46:49):
like this. This doesn't make sense.
Like this. I like that.
Come on. All right, We're leaving it like
this Silliness. You know, it's the perfectionist
in me. I just want it to be the
bestest. All right, Obviously if you're
interested in becoming a police constable, this is the the
source at least for working for the Toronto Police Service,
(47:11):
goonlinetbs.ca/careers, click onPolicing our Police Constable
and it'll give you all the details of what you need to
know, what the job's about, the expectations, the the salary.
This, I think this, yeah, this is from July 2025.
It's certainly going up because I think at the end of the
contract, first class constable is going to be somewhere in the
(47:32):
vicinity of 130,000, maybe more.In any case, all the information
you ever wanted to know and moreSpecial constables, how I joined
the service back in the day. I became a court officer.
That job is no longer called court officer.
It's now special constable and holds greater responsibility.
It involves working at stations, you know, working.
They have cars actually have markings that say special
(47:53):
constable. They still do the transfer the
prisoner transportation stuff aswell.
But it's not only that. Yeah.
Parking enforcement officer. Hey, Aaron, how you doing?
Good to see you. That's Aaron Urquhart.
TPS under score bike. What what is it?
What is? Oh my God.
TPS Bikehart. That's what it is.
CPS under score Bikehart. Haven't said it in a while.
So I'm a raste in any case, they're they're often hiring.
(48:17):
But what I like to talk about. Well, communications operator
can't leave them out. Here's the people answer 911 and
dispatch police officers. Yeah, regularly hiring those
too, but let's look at civilian rules because I think that's
really interesting to check out.Let's see what they're what
they, what they got 4 jobs currently available.
They're hiring an armorer. Well, that's a cool job working
(48:38):
on the the Pew pews, intermediate technical analyst
radio infrastructure. That's, that's something I would
apply for. Can I know nothing about it?
That's not true. I have a hammer radio license,
but I, I still wouldn't be the right person for that job.
Disclosure clerk and court services and solutions
architect, data digital team. These jobs change all the time.
So if you know somebody who might want to work for a great
(49:00):
organization like the Toronto Police, tell them to go to
tps.ca/careers. I'm really curious now. 92 to
100 and almost 5, well, call it.Why don't we just round up 100
and 498 to 9:00? We could just call that 105, can
we? I'm really curious now the
opportunity. The Toronto Police College
(49:21):
Armament Unit is seeking an armor who will inspect, test,
repair and perform routine maintenance on service items.
As the armor you will ensure theservice firearms are operational
services ready and sorry services and ready for issue
operational services other weirdwording inspect test repair
evaluate new firearms assist with initial inspections design
(49:43):
and manufacture specialized equipment perform forensic
examination assist. OK OK OK two year Community
College programming gunsmithing is that are people doing that is
I didn't know that was a thing. I guess it would be, I've never
thought about taking a two year Community College course on
gunsmithing like in Canada whereit, it's like the most anti gun
(50:06):
country ever. Really annoyed with that.
I'm a, I'm a, I'm a gun guy. So I, yeah, but I didn't think
of taking a gunsmithing course. I don't have two years of my
life to spend on it though. Three years of related
gunsmithing. OK, so that's serious about
this. Any case, awesome stuff.
If you know people, please sharethe word.
(50:27):
We need good people to serve ourcommunity, and just because
they're not frontline police officer rules doesn't mean
they're doing anything less thanmaking a magical contribution.
We can't do the work on the roadif we don't have the people
behind the scenes making it all possible.
All right, Oh, auxiliary officer, I didn't talk about
that. If you're looking for a great
volunteer opportunity, check outthe auxiliary police.
(50:49):
They is awesome and Danny says Hamilton police is hiring.
Thank you Danny. I did not I, I I'm very Toronto
centric in terms of my my look UPS.
But you know what we should haveI should do the tour and look at
other police services too. I won't do that right now
because I want to key it up and prepare it in other websites and
stuff before spreading the word. But that's awesome.
(51:12):
OK, Jackson says thanks for the tin stuff.
Bob wants to know what the impact of a series of speed
bumps would be on V cameras would be to flow V What?
Oh, I have no idea what we're talking about here.
What are the impacts of a seriesof speed bumps be to flow the
(51:33):
cameras? Maybe you can rephrase that
because I'm not picking up what you're putting down.
And then we have a user responseand says speed bumps can cause
vehicle damage as well as slow down emergency vehicles.
Yes. I'm not a fan of speed bumps at
all, although I am talking to a manufacturer out of Mexico that
(51:53):
creates a speed bump that that goes down like it it disappears
for emergency vehicles. It's really cool.
I should put their video on screen at some point.
But yeah, it, it's up and then it's not up and that's kind of
cool. Oh, you, it's OK.
Bob says bumps impact to trafficflow versus the cameras.
Thank you for clarifying, Bob. So speed bumps and I and my
(52:16):
neighborhood just got a bunch ofspeed humps.
I'm not a fan of them. First of all, speed humps, the
ones that allow larger emergencyvehicles to straddle the hump, I
think do little to nothing unless the driver's asleep at
the wheel. So if you're driving and I've,
I've done it at the limit without, without slowing down,
you get a mild, I call it a shuckle.
You know, you move a little bit like it's nothing, and I don't
(52:38):
think it's slowing anybody down because someone who's speeding
is probably also paying attention, I would hope.
But then there's the person who's asleep at the wheel and
that person gets a wake up call.If you go over the center of the
hump, which I don't know why anyone would do that on purpose,
you'll get a big bounce, a proper speed bump where you have
to be crawling not to bottom outand scrape the bottom of your
(52:59):
vehicle. Yeah, that slows people right
the hell down. But then you damage vehicles and
do all sorts of things. I, I, I don't think they're the
right move. I mean, they're getting a lot of
attention right now and people are making obviously money
installing them, but are they really effective?
Are they going to save lives? I, I remains to be seen.
I, I always tell the same story. The, a friend of mine who
(53:21):
recently moved for other reasons, but moved away from the
location he was at, had a speed camera directly in front of his
home. On either side of the speed
camera were speed bumps, not immediately beside, but there
were speed bumps regularly throughout his community, people
with speed between the speed bumps, so much so that that
traffic camera was issuing a lotof tickets.
(53:43):
So Bob says speed bumps in my rural area are devastating to
devastating to the farm vehiclesand emergency vehicles. 100%
speed bumps are not good. I don't like them.
I am anti speed bump. Now, the speed bumps that I was
talking to that are manufacturedout of Mexico and there's
another one in Sweden or something, two different
technologies, same concept in that if you're doing the speed
(54:06):
limit, they fold flat. They only stay up if you're
speeding. And I like that concept.
I think that's actually the coolest thing ever.
So if you you because it trains you to do the right thing, you
get a reward. No bumpy bump.
But if you're speeding, it givesyou the the bump and then life
sucks. If you're watching, my name is
Sean Shapiro. I am a former police officer who
(54:26):
talks about Traffic Safety, traffic law and police stuff.
And if you wanted to know stuff before you do stuff or you want
to gripe about speed bumps, I'm a guy who's going to do that
with you because I am FSP. I'm also not a big fan of flishy
flashy signs. I don't think they do diddly
squat, but you know, that's a thing.
Have you ever experienced road rage?
Have you ever had someone who got in your face and you didn't
(54:49):
know what to do about it? Have you ever had that?
Because I have. And I kind of I kind of have fun
with it because I'm that kind ofperson.
But my making sure that someone who's having a bad day has a
worse day is, is just my way of entertaining myself.
But at the same time, it could escalate badly.
I, I, I choose my fights and notnot sure.
(55:10):
OK, it's going way off track. But if someone's honking and
wants me out of their way, that's their problem.
I I'm glad they're horn works. I hope they get a ticket for
unnecessary noise, but that could actually be the wrong
response because sometimes you escalate things beyond what is
it you write checks your your body can't cash.
It could go out of control badly.
(55:31):
Like I would not be an asshole while I have my kids in the car.
It's just not not appropriate because no one needs to have
that kind of stress. But what do you do?
Someone's you know up in your business, what do you do?
Well, you got some options and the appropriate sane response is
to not respond. You know, you don't want to get
(55:51):
into a bird flipping competition.
You don't want to have an argument because ultimately
nothing's going to change. You're not going to you're not
going to win the argument, but you are going to escalate
matters. So don't, maybe don't take the
advice of being a jerk, which sometimes I, I can be.
So what you do is, is stay to the right and let them pass you
if you can. Just don't don't like I will
(56:12):
often. And I think this is the most
passive aggressive way to deal with it.
If someone's right up my, my rear when I'm on the road,
tailgating, honking, flashing, I'll slow down.
I'll give them a wonderful opportunity to pass me.
I'm not going to try and you know, escalate matters.
Although they may see it as being a a, a, a a, a, a a less
(56:33):
than friendly way because they just want me to speed up.
But I'm not going to speed for them.
I'm not going slower. Like we're not talking about
doing 20 and a 60. I'm talking about just not
speeding and I'm that guy who doesn't speed.
So I slow down, I stay to the right and I let them pass me by.
And I think that's the best way.If someone you do that or you do
everything nice and even be getting off the road.
(56:55):
If you're really concerned aboutthe safety, you can pull into a
parking lot and then and then just hook back on hoping they'll
drive by another in front of you.
But if someone just continues tofollow you, maybe driving to the
local police station isn't a badidea if someone's absolutely
following you. And This is why I I tend not to
take the same route home. And if I'm concerned about
somebody who might be aggressivefollowing me, well, I take a
(57:17):
different route. If they're now following me turn
for turn, that might be a call to 911.
It all depends. Yeah, maybe, maybe don't
escalate matters if you are watching.
This is a show that goes every Tuesday and every Wednesday, and
it has been doing so for quite some time.
Used to do it five days a week, but now I'm so busy with other
things that I had to reduce it to only twice a week.
(57:39):
Tuesdays have become a 10 AM. Wednesdays have become a 9:00
PM. And you'll notice that today is
Wednesday, but we are here at 10AM and that's because I've got
an event tonight that I have to attend.
Thus I cannot go live tonight. And I really do like the lives
at night. And at night I often have folks
who jump on camera and join me on the show.
Friends like Brian, Max and and others.
We've had my, my, my former partner John who have jumped in,
(58:02):
my partner at, at traffic services in the motor squad.
He wasn't my life partner. My life partner would be upset
if I had a life partner named John And and oddly enough, so
will I. Any of you guys we've got, what
is it speed? Oh, here we got Bob who has some
follow up about speed cameras asI totally jump from topic to
topic. But Bob says speed cameras equal
(58:24):
fine speeders. Bumps smash all our cars.
I made the argument. In fact, if you want to read the
article I wrote, it's in the Globe mail.
I have a variation of it on my on on bettertraffic.ca and my
LinkedIn and I, I say the same thing.
I I agree 100% automated speed enforcement catch the people who
break the law. If you don't break the law, you
don't get a fine. I don't know why anyone would
(58:45):
have a problem with that. And to label it a cash grab is
saying it's OK to break the law and it's not.
It's not OK because it's not only is it breaking the law, but
it's making communities less safe.
M62SI can't read your username says.
I'd love to come on and join you, but I'm on duty at the
moment. It would be awesome to have you
on. We got to figure out when we can
(59:06):
do it. Oh, I have a lot of training and
collisions and intoxication and impairment.
You have training and impairment.
That's just partying on weekends, isn't it?
No. Dang, I'm playing anyway.
Yeah, Let me know. Reach out.
Yeah. If we, if you know a police
officer who might be a great fitfor the show.
We're always looking to have guests.
And the goal when I left the police wasn't to be the guy, but
(59:27):
to host all the other folks who know stuff and things and have
conversations. OK, Wednesday nights, we'll have
to make it happen. Send me send me something to
firm up and we'll have a chat before and we're going to have a
zoom. We're going to zoom and discuss.
And once again, a thank you to Diamond and Diamond show
sponsors. And of course, I finally will 2
(59:47):
separate companies, both doing great things, very, very
different. I finally will is a is an online
will generator and you can get 50% off by going to
ifinallywill.com and use code AATC that's ask a traffic cop
for 50% off. Don't hang out.
Don't wait. If you are unprotected, it's
(01:00:07):
your family that you're putting at risk.
Yeah, we'll talk more about wills.
We'll have them come on to the show and discuss it because
people don't realize what a willdoes.
And you don't have to be a millionaire to need a will.
You just need to be able to direct your stuff should
something happen to you. And you should have everybody in
your family have a will, not just you.
And they can do it at the most reasonable price ever, you know,
(01:00:31):
plus 50% off. Anyway, with that, I will say
goodbye. It's been an hour and 2 minutes.
Oh. Oh, I won't say goodbye.
You know why? Because Akayla Draconis is
sharing jokes today. Not me.
It's all Akayla. He sent me videos.
Without further ado, here is roughly 50 seconds of jokes
split up into two videos. Akayla, take it away.
(01:00:54):
Greetings and salutations, the secular jacronas with today's
jokes. Why did the measuring tape go to
prison? I don't know, but it'll go to
great lengths to get out. A philosopher once said change
does not come from a place of comfort, but he was wrong.
I'm always finding loose coins in my couch.
(01:01:18):
OK. So that's that's the first one.
Grandfather, I have something toconfess.
I killed nine people when I wentto war.
Grandson weren't you a cook? Grandfather, I never said I was
a good one. And a quote to round things off.
(01:01:39):
Horse sense is a thing that a horse has which keeps it from
betting on people. WC Fields Well, that's the jokes
for today. Stay safe and remember, don't
have a good day. Have a great day.
Thank you to Aquila Laconis for sharing the jokes and a quote.
He's been sending me jokes in text form.
And I said, why don't you? Why don't you just send me video
(01:02:00):
of you saying it? Then I don't have to read it
poorly anyway, it takes the pressure off me.
But I do have one here from Tim who says why don't you shower in
front of a Pokémon because it'lltake a Pikachu.
Pikachu Pokémon. There you go.
Oh, Normando is in here. I could do a whole show just
(01:02:24):
talking about Freeman and the land, but I've been getting
Normando and a number of his colleagues who who who quote and
discuss things about Freeman andthe land stuff, which I
generally don't have a lot of time for.
I think it's interesting, but I don't know where people, how
people believe the stuff that they're being fed.
That's another story. Mary apparently approves of the
jokes. I thank you very much.
(01:02:46):
All right, with that. Oh, Diamond and Diamond is here.
He must have heard me when I said Diamond and Diamond lawyers
and thank you them for the sponsorship.
They helped support the show andthey they were here and I don't
know if they're still here, but hopefully they are all right
with that. I say have a great week, have a
great weekend. Be safe, drive safe, drive
sober. Don't do anything that you're
(01:03:08):
going to regret. And there's, there's so much, so
many poor choices that could be made.
Try and follow the speed limit. Try and be safe out there.
It's that that holiday season we're in.
We don't want tragedies. And we'll talk more about that
as we go. But in the meantime, smile.
It's important. Have a great day.
(01:03:34):
You might go make a snack. Very least I'm going to top off
my coffee.
