This week, I’m getting vulnerable and taking you behind the scenes of a major pivot at Author Revolution. After years in constant creation mode—masterclasses, courses, memberships, podcasts—I’m pressing pause on “business as usual” to close out one era and make space for what’s next.

I share how 2024–2025 became my phoenix year: the collapse, the lessons, the hermit/role-model season (hello, Manifesting Generator life), and the clarity that’s emerging as I realign with what Author Revolution is truly meant to be. If you’ve felt the nudge to prune, simplify, or let go in your own author life, this one’s for you.

In this episode:

  • Why endings aren’t failures—they’re invitations to align
  • What it looked like when partnerships, systems, and “shoulds” fell away
  • The real difference between mindset-only work and bringing your body/nervous system on board
  • How pruning creates room for your next chapter (and how to spot what to release)
  • A peek at what’s coming:
    • Write Your Reality – dropping December
    • Write Frame of Mind (2025 Edition) – dropping November
    • Three brand-new, streamlined courses for 2026 designed for this new era of authorship

The Course Vault Sale (limited time)

To honor this transition, I’ve opened the Author Revolution Course Vault Sale. You can pick up themed bundles or grab the All-Access Vault Key to unlock (almost) everything before it’s archived.
➡️ All details live at authorrevolution.org
(Excludes 4 Books, 5 Days and my audiobook programs.)

Mentioned

  • Author Revolution Course Vault Sale: authorrevolution.org
  • Write Your Reality (Dec) & Write Frame of Mind 2025 Edition (Nov)

Takeaways for aligned authors

  • Pruning ≠ quitting; it’s strategic space-making
  • Your business evolves as you do—let it
  • Mid-manifestation is still momentum

If you’re ready to simplify, realign, and rise—this episode is your permission slip.

Until next time… go forth and start your author revolution!

Carissa Andrews (00:05):
Welcome to the Author Revolution Podcast.
I'm Carissa Andrews, author andyour host here to help indie
authors like you master mindset, harness manifestation and
embrace cutting-edge innovationto elevate your career.
Let's dive in.
Well, hey, there guys, andwelcome back to the Author

(00:27):
Revolution Podcast.
Oh, I can't believe it'salready been a month.
It's been a very, very busy andintense month, but it's been a
month already.
So here we are.
This particular episode isgoing to be a vulnerable podcast
episode, so hang tight, okay.
Sometimes the bravest move youcan make in your author career

(00:47):
isn't starting something shinyand new.
It's more like letting go ofsomething old, and I've talked
about this a bit in the pastletting go and being able to
kind of open yourself up somenew space for new things to come
in.
And in essence, that's exactlywhat this podcast episode is
going to be about.
But there's a lot, of, a lot ofthings going on behind the

(01:08):
scenes that I haven't reallyshared with you, and I want to
kind of give you some insights.
So for the past few years, author Evolution has been in
constant creation mode, right,masterclasses, courses,
memberships, podcasts, you nameit.
But this month, instead ofrunning another live masterclass
or doing any kind of newcourses or anything like that,

(01:30):
right now I'm doing something alittle different.
I am pressing pause on businessas usual so that I can close
out an era of author revolutionand also, I guess, begin to lay
the foundation for what's comingnext.
Now.
Don't worry, I'm notdisappearing.
In fact, I'd say the oppositeis true.

(01:51):
I'm actually rising from theashes, a little more phoenix-y,
a little clearer, a lot morealigned with the vibe that
Author Revolution itself wasalways meant to embody.
And because every endingdeserves its own celebration
this month, if you've been overat authorrevolutionorg at all or
if you're on my email list, youalready know that I've opened

(02:12):
up this Author Revolution CourseVault Sale, where you can get
access to every single courseI've ever created, with the
exception of four books, fivedays and my audiobook programs,
before they all disappear intowhat I'm calling the vault.
So you can grab bundles or youcan go all in with the all
access vault key.
You'll find all the details, like I said, over at

(02:33):
authorrevolutionorg.
But this episode is not aboutthe sale, right?
It's about the journey thatbrought me here the collapse,
the lessons and the clarity thatcomes when you finally decide
to let go of what no longer fits.
Now, if you've been followingme for a while, if you've been
listening to the podcast for awhile, you know that last year
my word of the year was let go,and I feel like that has in some

(02:56):
ways followed me into this year.
This year's word and thisyear's bracelet that I have on
my wrist right now is limitless, and so I kind of feel like
that's the vibe of where I'mheading right now.
It's like I'm still in theshedding moment of letting go of
what was so that what is new, what is limitless, can be born.

(03:17):
So let's talk about this end ofan era and what's coming next.
Over the past couple of years,I've really felt this persistent
call to just strip everythingdown, to revamp, to let go of
the old scaffolding not only ofauthor revolution, honestly, but
like my author career as well, and I wanted to do it in a way

(03:39):
that gave me some perspectiveand allowed me to come back
cleaner and clearer and morealigned with what I really stand
for, what Author Revolutionstands for, what my books stand
for, all the things.
Because I feel like in theindustries, for a long time
we've kind of just gone aboutdoing things the way that we

(04:00):
were told should be done, and ifyou're looking at the state of
the world right now, you knowthat, like the old systems are
crumbling Anything that we weretold should be done and if
you're looking at the state ofthe world right now, you know
that, like the old systems arecrumbling, anything that we
thought was really solid hasshaky ground now and I believe
that to be the case.
About our authored careers, about author revolution, about
course creation, about how wedeliver information as

(04:22):
entrepreneurs all of it.
And, if I'm honest, last yearlast year itself was rough 2024.
For me, it was a year ofcollapse.
I was asking those deeperquestions.
I was digging deeper into whatdo I really want and why does
this not feel as aligned as Iwant it to feel?

(04:42):
Everything, like I said, that Ithought was solid, you know
partnerships, friendships, systems I'd built just started
kind of crumbling and some of itwas my own doing, some of it
was me deliberately choosing tocrumble it and others were just
like falling apart and I didn'tunderstand fully why.
Right, I joke, and I have jokeda couple of times, both here on

(05:04):
the podcast and in Right Firmof Mind, which is top of mind
because I'm almost finished withthat book but I've joked about
how a student of mine reallyswore by Moldavite and I was
like I'm going to meditate withsome Moldavite.
I could use some change in mylife and then, shortly after
that, everything went to hell ina handbasket.
But honestly, as I'm kind ofcoming out on the other side of

(05:26):
things right now, it's not fullyshaken out, but I see things a
lot more clearly.
I understand where my desireswere and what it was that I'm
trying.
I was trying to manifestforward, even if it was just
more from that subconscious, deeper level, right.
So at the time, in 2024 and intothe beginning part of 2025, it

(05:51):
felt like it was loss stacked onloss, right?
People I deeply cared about, like I said, drifted away and
while I genuinely wish themnothing but the best, I would be
completely lying to say that itdidn't hurt.
It felt a lot like an old woundof mine, where it's like I give
and I give and yet when Iactually am struggling, no one

(06:12):
is there to support me, right?
So that's obviously a shadowwound.
It's an inner child wound, something that I've been working
on dealing with, healing as Ican in my own ways.
We all, no matter what pathwe're taking when it comes to
manifestation and success, weall have our own versions of
things, our own inner demonsthat we have to conquer, in

(06:32):
essence, so that we can comeback the more aligned, more
authentic version of ourselves, and that was definitely a wound
that opened up for me that I hadto take a closer look at.
But here's the thing I'velearned, both from experience
and from my spiritual practicewhen you're shifting realities
which I was actively doing atthe time and still am, obviously

(06:54):
, because I'm still trying tocall in my highest timeline my
most successful and alignedversion of that success so when
we're doing that, the people, the places, the things that no
longer fit with the frequencywe're moving into will fall away
, and it doesn't mean theyweren't important, it just means
that their chapter in yourstory is now complete, at least

(07:14):
for the time being.
And because I'm a manifestinggenerator with the hermit role
model archetype in human design,I can look back now and see how
this was just part of my designtoo.
I needed that year, this pastyear of retreat, of watching it
all kind of fall apart.
And in essence, that's reallywhat I've done.

(07:34):
I've looked at systems, I'velooked at things, I've taken a
look at even you know societyand you know late stage
capitalism, all of it.
And I'm seeing that my collapseis not just my own, it's
systemic.
It's everywhere, we're seeingit everywhere, and so it feels
like not only is it mine, butit's something much bigger, it's

(07:55):
a much more like I saidsystemic, I guess, is the best
word thing that is going onright now, that we're all kind
of going through and we're we'retrying to figure out what truly
matters.
And for me, as I watched, everything kind of implode, and
it wasn't.
It wasn't implosion to thepoint of, you know, no support,

(08:18):
it was just implosion enough tothe point where I was going back
into, you know, the scarcitymentality that I had when I
began my author career, and Iremember watching it, thinking
what in the hell is happeninghere?
Why is this coming up?
Because I thought all of thishad been resolved, that I'd
healed through it, I had beenable to do so many awesome
things, and yet here I amcycling back into it and I had

(08:40):
to ask myself was Iself-sabotaging, like what is
going on here, and who I wasmeant to become and meant to be
as a creator, as an entrepreneur, as an author?
As I've revolved through allthat, I've realized that it's a
different kind of animal right.
I was leaning very heavily intomy intellect, into the

(09:05):
masculine side of who I am,remember, I've always been this
kind of person who has bothsides.
I'm very woo on one side andI'm very strategic science-y on
the other, and most of the timeI like that balance.
But I was doing a lot more withthe mind.
I was doing more with mentalitywork, with subconscious work,

(09:25):
and all of those things aregreat, but they're not
everything, and so what thisyear has taught me was how to
get back into the body as well, and how that balance has really
been more important to me than Ieven realized in the beginning.
So it's been really kind of aninteresting year right.
So it was a hermit year, forsure, but also I'm.
It feels like a year of ashes, and ashes are fertile ground,

(09:51):
always for something new.
I've never looked at thingswhen they crumble or when they
are going away as a complete andtotal loss.
There's always a gift left atthe door.
There's always something therethat's going to help us to
catapult into the next level.
So while I'm still technicallymid-manifestation on exactly
what the next era of authorevolution looks like, I can feel

(10:14):
the clarity and the drivesettling in.
I'm no longer trying to carrythe weight of everything that
once was, and there is a lot.
There's a lot there.
I have so many courses.
I think this course vault hasnine courses that we are
vaulting and will no longerexist.
That's a lot of courses.
Nine courses that we arevaulting and will no longer
exist that's a lot of courses.

(10:34):
I've done a lot of books in mylife, but there were also a lot
of other things going on.
Those courses are included, andwhat ended up happening is in
that clearing away, I'm seeing anew strategy coming forward.
I'm seeing a new understandingof how I can teach indie
authorship in this new era andhow to make it more fun and how
to make it more deliverable in away that's really going to get
us excited to be indie authorsagain in this day and age,

(10:58):
because, like I said, late stagecapitalism is fucking
everything up, and that includesour own careers.
It includes everything that'shappening right now, and if you
look at other authors, they'reseeing it too.
They're talking about it too.
Russell Nolte, I think he has abook about, you know,
capitalistic dystopia.
We're all seeing it right, andso we're seeing the collapse of

(11:20):
how it should have been, how youknow, the promise of what indie
authorship was meant to be andthe dystopian outlook that has
become the reality.
Okay, so, I'm no longer tryingto carry that weight.
I'm trying to lean into mystrengths, follow my intuition

(11:42):
more and allow myself to risemore into that Phoenix energy.
And right now, as a Virgo right, you know, I'm a double Virgo
we're sitting right in betweentwo eclipses, and you know me,
I'm still Wu.
And so, with the lunar eclipsefor the full moon that just
happened in Pisces, and nowwe're coming up on a partial

(12:03):
solar eclipse for the new moonin Virgo, we're right, smack dab
in the middle of endings andbeginnings.
And the nine nine portal, youknow, is a triple nine year.
Everything is going on rightnow with endings, and we're
seeing it playing out acrosscountries in the world, like all
sorts of things.

(12:24):
And so, as I start to clip backwhat I do, how I do it, how I'm
operating, what brands do, what,it feels so damn good, it feels
like I am finally starting tounderstand, you know, which
areas and avenues are mycreative outputs, which areas
and avenues are my teachingplaces, and where do I transmit?

(12:46):
You know, like, how do I be andjust deliver the energy work
that I feel like I'm called todeliver and so manifestation has
split off.
You might have seen, like Isaid, with this vault thing
going on, all of mymanifestation courses are going
for authors.
So they will no longer exist.
They'll still be there forthose who get the bundles, like

(13:07):
the vault itself will still be apart of author revolution, but
no one will have access to itanymore.
Like it's coming into it.
If I do anything manifestationwise, it's going to be over at
manifest differently and it'sgoing to be broader and it will
no longer have that author spinto it.
So I guess this is your likenudge.
If you are an author who reallywants author specific

(13:27):
manifestation techniques, Iencourage you to check out the
bundles, because evenmillionaire author manifestation
is going to be going into thevault.
Okay, now I don't share all ofthis to give you, you know, just
a peek into my chaos.
That's not what this is about.
I am sharing it because I knowI'm not the only one who's gone

(13:49):
through a season like this.
As authors, you know, we oftenthink success means constantly
adding more and just growingright More books, more launches,
more strategies, more courses,more everything.
But sometimes the real magichappens when you take a step
back and you prune, and when youclear that clutter, you can
finally see what's really meantto grow, versus the things that

(14:11):
you're just kind of I don't knowhoping will take off one day.
So think about it.
Maybe you've been holding ontoa series that doesn't excite you
anymore and you feel likeyou've got to keep going because
the readers will be mad.
Or maybe you're still trying toforce a marketing strategy that
drains you instead of fuels you.
You know TikTok videos.
Let's do a bazillion of them, even though it seems like the

(14:32):
algorithms have totally gone offthe rails right.
Or maybe you've piled yourschedule with so many shoulds
that there's no room left forjoy or play in your writing.
So what if letting go of thosethings isn't failure but the
exact move that opens the doorto your next chapter of your
career?
That's actually what I've beenlearning that collapse doesn't

(14:55):
have to mean the end.
It can mean space.
You know space to breathe, space to realign space, to
choose what's actually right foryou and what's right for you
right now and not five years ago.
You know, as an entrepreneur,it's harder to see.
It gets muddier when it's timeto let things go, when we're
feeling this like pull to dosomething new and you're in

(15:17):
another job.
Often it feels like you know Ireally want to quit this job, I
want to find something new, andif you don't take enough action,
eventually you get fired or youget laid off or something
happens that forces you intothat next chapter.
With entrepreneurship, it kindof feels the same, but it's way
more sneaky and subtle.
It feels like, I said, thecollapse.

(15:39):
It feels like courses startstalling and no one wants to buy
them.
It feels like books no longerare selling and you don't know
why.
It feels like your creativityhas left the window and gone on
the side door and there's nocoming back, and you don't know
why.
Writing no longer feels likefun, like that's what it feels
like when you are doing thingsfor yourself.

(16:01):
But it's up to us to still takea closer look then and go okay,
what is it that I am trulytrying to create here?
Why am I manifesting this in mylife instead of you know the
thing that I say, that I want?
So here's my encouragement toyou today I want you to take a
moment this week to look at yourauthor career with some fresh
eyes.
What's weighing you down?

(16:22):
What can you lovingly release, because the more you prune, the
more room you create for yourPhoenix moment too.
And this time, this era, rightnow, we are literally in a
portal of endings and beginnings, and if you have been paying
attention over at Manifestdifferently at all, or listen to
the nine, nine portalactivation that I did, you're
going to see what that, what Imean about that.

(16:43):
We are all here and just kindof closing old paths, closing
old doors and starting somethingnew.
Okay, now, here's the thing.
Like I said, I'm still in themiddle of my own manifestation,
that I'm constantly going to beevolving, reinventing, shifting
who I am as I grow as anindividual.

(17:04):
I don't ever want to stay stuckas the version I was, just
because I think people expect meto be that right.
I want to follow my intuition,to understand that things are
going to change in my life, inmy career, and be okay with
letting things go when it's timeto let them go or when it's

(17:25):
time to transform them.
The full picture of the newauthor revolution is still
unfolding and honestly, I kindof love that.
So it means to me that I'm notrushing into recreating what
already was.
I'm giving myself permission tolet it kind of become what it's
meant to be, and that'ssomething I never really gave

(17:47):
author revolution the ability todo.
There were ideas, there weregoals that I wanted to
accomplish through AuthorRevolution when I first started,
but the cohesion wasn't there.
I was just like, okay, I knowwhat I want to do and I know
what I want to say, but I didn'thave the business sense.
I didn't have a lot of themarketing sense.
I didn't understand my platformon Kajabi when I first began.

(18:10):
So it was like there was a lotof learning going on and in that
learning process I was trying alot of new things.
But it's different now.
It's like I understand theprocess, I understand the flow,
I understand what I want toteach and I understand why I
want to teach it and who I wantto teach it.
So I can tell you this I have alot more clarity than I did a
year ago.

(18:30):
I have a lot more clarity thanI did when I first opened the
doors to Author Revolution and Iknow what I want Author
Revolution to stand for.
I know the kind of creative, the kind of entrepreneur, the
kind of guide I want to be forauthors just like you.
And part of that clarity isshowing up in the work that I'm
creating behind the scenes.

(18:51):
So my upcoming book, like I said, write your Reality it's
dropping in December and I'llshare a lot more of this story
in that book.
There's more about the collapseand the rebirth and how to
consciously manifest your authorcareer even when it feels like
it's burning down around you, when it feels like you're
burning out around it, like allof the things.

(19:11):
It's also got that companion, which is the new edition of
Right Frame of Mind, and that isreally the best place to start.
It will also be launching inNovember, but it has, you know,
the nervous system regulationand the mindset work that we
need to have in order tomanifest more effectively.
So, all of this to say, I havethree brand new courses that are

(19:33):
lined up for 2026.
They're not fully developed.
I have outlines, I have thingsready to rock, I know what I
kind of want to do with them andI'm not spilling all the
details on that just yet, butlet's just say they're designed
to be cleaner, more streamlined, more aligned with this Phoenix
energy that I'm talking about, right and the revolutionary

(19:54):
energy.
These courses are going to cutthrough the noise and help you
rise as the author you're meantto be in this new era of
authorship.
So, while one era is ending, the next one is already calling,
and I am so ready to answer it.
And because this door isclosing, or this era is ending,
I knew I wanted to market in aspecial way, and that's why,

(20:16):
instead of hosting a new livemasterclass this month, I knew I
had to create an event that wasreally worthy of what was going
on here.
So that's why I've decided toopen the Author Revolution
Course Vault Sale.
So if you're interested in anyof that stuff, this is your
chance to grab everything I'vecreated over the years before
they go into the vault for good, and you can pick and choose

(20:37):
from the bundles.
If there are specific trainingsthat you've had your eyes on,
or if you're like me and youlove having all the tools at
your fingertips, you can snagthe all access vault key and
unlock everything in one go.
Think of it like a closingritual to this chapter of Author
Revolution, a way to celebrateeverything we've built together
before I clear the decks andstep into what's next.

(20:58):
So if you want to exploreeverything that's going to be
going into the vault head overto authorrevolutionorg.
That's where you're going tofind all the details.
The entire site is nowdedicated to this sale going on
from this moment, and then afterthat, we will reset.
Okay, so here we are the end,the end of the first.

(21:20):
I guess it's the first era ofauthor revolution In some ways.
When I started switching tomanifestation, it felt like a
new era as well, but this feelslike a reset point.
I guess.
If there's one thing I hope youtake away from this episode,
it's that endings aren'tfailures.
They're invitations.
They're the doorway to clarityand alignment and the kind of

(21:43):
growth you can't get when you'reclinging to what no longer fits
.
For me, closing this chapter ofAuthor Revolution isn't even
really about loss.
It's about space, space to rise, space to step fully into the
author, the entrepreneur and thecreative I know I'm meant to be
, and the same is true for you.

(22:04):
Whatever season you're in,whether you're releasing an old
story, shifting your strategiesor just trying to find your next
right step, I want you to trustthat pruning makes room for new
possibilities, and the phoenixmoment always follows the ashes.
Here's to us both embracing ournext chapter with courage and

(22:26):
clarity and maybe a littlerebellious spirit.
Until next time, go forth andstart your author revolution.
Thank you.
