Carissa Andrews (00:05):
Welcome to the
Author Revolution Podcast.
I'm Carissa Andrews, author andyour host here to help indie
authors like you master mindset, harness manifestation and
embrace cutting-edge innovationto elevate your career.
Let's dive in.
(00:25):
Hey there, author friend, welcome back to the Author
Revolution Podcast.
Today's episode is going to hita little differently, because
we're not talking aboutmarketing tactics, writing
productivity or even publishingstrategy.
We're talking about somethingmuch, much deeper, something
that might explain why, despiteall your effort, your success
(00:45):
doesn't seem to match whatyou've been putting out into the
world.
If you've ever found yourselfthinking I've done everything
I'm supposed to, so why am Istill not seeing the financial
success I imagined?
Or how is it possible that I'vecreated more than most authors
do in a lifetime and I'm stillnot where I want to be?
If those thoughts have cycledaround, you're not alone.
(01:07):
I've been there, in fact, I amthere in many ways, and I want
to tell you something radicaltoday.
You're not broken, you're notbehind, and your manifestations
haven't failed.
You've simply been trying tobuild a revolutionary, soul-led
career inside systems that werenever designed for you to thrive
(01:28):
in.
This episode is about thedisconnection between
manifestation and output and thehidden cost of old systems that
were built for extraction, notexpression.
We're going to unpack why thatdissonance exists, how it's
showing up in your authorjourney and what you can do
about it moving forward, becausethis is the exact reason I
(01:51):
created Write Frame of Mind andWrite your Reality.
They're two books that are partof my brand new Kickstarter
campaign launching this month, and these books are about
recalibrating your inner worldso the outer results can finally
match.
So if you're ready to breakfree from the hamster wheel and
start creating in a way thatactually supports your nervous
system, your values and yourvision, this one's for you.
(02:13):
So let's dive in.
We're going to start with a bigone.
Okay, the myth that more outputequals more success, and this
is one that you know I've evenfallen into the trap of,
especially in the beginning ofmy author career, because, if
you're anything like me, you'veprobably spent years absorbing
the same messages we all have inthe indie, author and online
business spaces right, justwrite more books.
(02:35):
Consistency is king.
Success is a numbers game.
Treat your author career like abusiness and the money will
come.
And for a while, maybe that feltmotivating, strategic even, or
doable, but at some point, yourealized wait, I am doing all of
that.
You've launched the books, you've created the funnels,
(02:57):
you've showed up on social, built the brand, you've even
leaned into manifestation andmindset work right, and yet the
results don't match the effort, not in your income, not in your
reach, not in the felt success.
So then you start to wonder, like, what's wrong with me?
And that's where this toxiclittle myth starts doing real
(03:19):
damage, because it makes yourstruggle feel like a personal
failure.
Maybe you're not cut out forthis right, maybe you didn't
hustle hard enough, maybe yourenergy isn't aligned enough.
But here's the truth and I wantyou to hear it today and really
really take it in.
Okay, it's not you, it's thesystem you've been taught to
(03:41):
succeed in.
Now we've all been operatingunder this lie that success is
linear, that if you keep going, keep showing up, keep pushing,
the results will eventuallycatch up.
But that logic only works whenthe system is built to reward
non-linear, creative, intuitivepeople like us.
And spoiler alert, it's not.
(04:02):
It's built to reward repetition, predictability, conformity and
speed.
But your magic, your creativity, your nervous system, they
don't work that way, they neverhave.
And when you try to forceyourself into that linear path,
you don't just burn out, youdisconnect from the very power
(04:24):
that makes you magnetic in thefirst place.
So if your manifestation isn'tmatching your output, maybe it's
not because you're doingsomething wrong.
Maybe it's because you're stilltrying to manifest results
inside a structure that wasnever built for you to thrive in
.
And that's the real shift we'regoing to be talking about today
, because once you see thesystem clearly, you can finally
(04:47):
stop blaming yourself.
So let's talk about the systemitself, because when I say the
system wasn't built for you, I'mnot just talking about
traditional publishing.
I'm not just talking aboutAmazon algorithms or marketing
models either.
I'm talking about the entireenergetic structure most of us
have unconsciously built aroundour creative careers.
It's a structure that valuesproductivity over presence,
(05:11):
perfection over process, visibility over vision, volume
over value and, maybe mostdamaging of all, external
validation over internalalignment.
I feel that so deeply becausethere seems to be so much just
go, go, go, but it's not evenwhat we want to be creating
(05:33):
right.
And when we realize that we'retrying to manifest within this
system, even with the bestintentions, we run into
resistance because we know like, internally, we know we start
using our manifestation toolslike performance metrics.
So journaling to get more money, for instance, visualizing to
fix our results, affirming likeit's a punishment I am
(05:57):
successful, I am successful, Iam successful while panicking
inside right.
And why do we do this?
Because the system has trainedus to earn our worth.
Hear that again.
This system, the way it'sstructured right now, has
trained us to earn our worth, not just financially, but
(06:17):
spiritually too.
It says you can have what youwant, but you have to prove you
deserve it first.
And that's not manifestation, that's hustle in disguise.
And here's why it getsespecially dangerous for
neurodivergent ortrauma-informed creators.
We already have heightenedsensitivity.
We already carry the invisiblelabor of regulating our energy.
(06:37):
So when we try to play by therules of a system that thrives
on output and urgency, we don'tjust feel tired, we feel like
failures.
The cost isn't just missedincome, it's chronic burnout,
shame cycles, creative blocksthat aren't from lack of ideas
but from nervous system collapse, believing we're too much or
(06:59):
not enough, when really we'rejust too alive for a dead system
.
And most of us myself includedhere have spent years
internalizing that dissonanceinstead of questioning the
structure we're building insideof.
But here's the good news Onceyou see the grid, or the matrix,
for what it is, you can startto opt out.
(07:20):
You can stop trying to fit in tosucceed and start building a
new foundation from the groundup, one that honors your energy,
your truth and your capacity, one that lets success come from
alignment, not exhaustion, andthat's what we're going to talk
about next.
Okay, let's explore what itlooks like to reclaim your path
(07:43):
and what I've discovered throughrebuilding my own over this
past year.
After you see the system, afteryou acknowledge the disconnect,
after you stop blaming yourself, things start to shift, because
here's the truth.
This isn't about giving up.
It's about reclaiming your path, reclaiming who you really are,
(08:03):
remembering your power.
Right, you're not here to fixyourself, to fit into the matrix
.
You're here to build somethingthat has never existed before, a
reality that actually honorsyour wiring, your creativity and
your vision.
And for authors like us, thatreclaiming really starts by
(08:23):
remembering this.
You do not need to earn yourworth.
You don't need to force yourcreativity to make money.
You don't need to proveanything to be taken seriously.
Your job is to become theversion of you that creates from
wholeness, not desperation.
That's where the realmanifestation magic happens.
(08:45):
Not from repeating affirmationsor sticking to some perfect
morning routine, but fromrepatterning your nervous system
to feel safe while receivingmore.
Because, let's be honest, mostof us aren't really afraid of
failure.
We wouldn't be outputting asmany books as we are if that was
the case.
We're afraid of what willchange if we succeed.
(09:06):
We're afraid of being seen, ofbeing resented, of being asked
to do more than we can hold whenwe're already in this place of
complete fracturization.
Right, so we stay small and weoverthink and we just need to
fix one more thing before welaunch or write the book or do
the thing.
But the truth is, the systemthat made you feel unsafe to be
(09:29):
big isn't yours anymore.
You don't have to keep carryingit, and that's something that
has become so blaringly obviousto me in this past year.
The new paradigm of authorsuccess isn't built on hustle.
It's built on an energy ofalignment and radical self-trust
Self-trust in who you are as acreator.
(09:52):
Self-trust in how you get toshow up online.
Self-trust into how you get tomagnetize your readers.
It's cyclical, not linear, andit's collaborative, not
competitive.
It's rooted in your truth, notsomeone else's blueprint.
Okay, and that's super importantto hear, because we have been
following people online sincethe inception of indie
(10:13):
authorship right, we have beenfollowing what everybody else is
doing, thinking that's the waywe're going to have to do it in
order to be successful and, yes,you can still get to market
your work right.
Yes, you will still build yourplatform, but instead of
following someone else, it comesfrom flow, not force.
This is what I've been walkingmyself through for the past.
(10:34):
Oh gosh, at least two years, right, since I started working
with Shopify and movingeverything out of exclusivity
with Amazon.
And it's what I now teachinside the two books I'm going
to be releasing throughKickstarter, because reclaiming
your path, it doesn't mean goingat it alone.
It means building a new map,and we can do that together.
So let me tell you more abouthow these books came to be and
(10:56):
why this Kickstarter is actuallymore than just a launch.
It's a portal.
It's a portal for us and I'verealized it's even a portal for
me, and it's something I havehad to put on the back burner
because the timing just didn'tfeel right.
It didn't feel like themagnetism of it was ready, but
it is now.
So everything I've talked abouttoday the burnout, the output to
(11:19):
income mismatch, thefrustration of doing everything
right but still not feeling likeit's working that's not just
something I've observed in otherauthors.
It's something I havepersonally lived.
It's something that I havemyself tried to overcome and try
to intellectualize and try tofigure out like what am I doing
wrong?
Because if I am in a placewhere reality molds to my
(11:43):
understanding of it, that thereis no insertion in this universe
, it only is an experience ofwhat we believe of ourselves,
why would I be creating thisright?
It's why, after years of tryingto reverse engineer success
through strategies and I'm highstrategic guys, remember that
doing all the funnels and thelaunches I finally asked some
different questions what if I'mnot the problem?
(12:05):
What if the system is?
And that's funny because I'vealways been someone who's looked
at the system for what it islike the political system, for
instance.
I've always seen through themirage of it, the mask.
But then I've also asked myselfwhat if I could build a new
system that actually works forme and for others like me?
(12:26):
Well, obviously, I've gone downso many rabbit holes of
manifestation and understandingnot only the energetics of our
subconscious, our body, but howto even get our nervous system
back into alignment, how to bein flow with the quantum field.
So that's where Write Frame ofMind for 2025 and Write your
(12:47):
Reality came from.
These are not just books.
They're blueprints for a newway of being a writer, one that
honors your body, yourcreativity, your energy and your
nervous system.
So the 2025 edition of RightFrame of Mind is the foundation.
It's brand new.
I am literally rewriting thisbook from the ground up, and so
(13:08):
what it does is it helps you toclear imposter syndrome, but
from a neurodivergent lens.
Neurodivergence has been a bigthing for me, understanding that
I'm autistic and ADHD, so ADHDhas really opened the door to so
many things in understanding ofmyself and understanding of who
I'm calling in.
All of it, right, but it alsohelps you reclaim your creative
(13:30):
identity, whether you'reneurodivergent or neurotypical.
It helps you to align yourwriting practice with your
actual energy and capacity tooutput, and it helps you to move
from self-doubt into self-trust.
And that's one where I think, especially for neurodivergent
authors and creatives andentrepreneurs like us, we
(13:50):
struggle with it.
Right, we struggle withself-trust because we have been
told for years and years andyears that we are too much, that
we are too out there, that weare, I don't know, too intense.
That's been a big one for me,and so it's time to embrace
self-trust.
We are put here on this planetat this time to be the next
(14:10):
evolution and Write your Reality.
Now is the expansion.
That book teaches you how to usequantum manifestation tools
tailored for authors, and itcombines mindset, nervous system
and energy work.
It helps you to create awriting career that feels
aligned, abundant and alivewithin this quantum field.
It helps you to understandmanifestation from a scientific
(14:34):
perspective, why it works, howit works, and it helps you to
manifest from your future self, not from fear, which is what the
system wants us to create fromright.
It's why we find ourselves inthese anxiety cycles and loops.
It's why authorship has alwaysfelt off for many of us, like we
(14:55):
are not all the same, and sotrying to create our books and
our launch schedules and all thethings from the same blueprint
that just doesn't make sense.
So I'm launching both of thesebooks through Kickstarter, not
just because I want creativecontrol but I do but because I
also want to create a portal forother authors to enter this new
paradigm with me.
(15:16):
This isn't about chasing thealgorithm anymore.
It's about rewriting the storyfor all of us.
So if today's episode resonated, if you're feeling that deep
soul, yes, I want to invite youto check out the Kickstarter Now
.
Whether you're just startingout or you've been doing this
for years, like me, these booksare here to help you come home
(15:36):
to yourself, your vision andyour words.
It's here to help you reimaginehow your author career gets to
be for you and help you toremember and realize that you
already know the answers.
You already have the clues.
You're not broken.
You're evolving and it's timeyour writing career evolved with
(15:57):
you.
So if you're feeling thatdisconnect between what you're
creating and what you'rereceiving, if you've been
questioning whether you're doingsomething wrong or wondering
why the results haven't lined upyet, I want you to remember
this You're just waking up to asystem that was never designed
to hold your magic.
Okay, and that awakening it'snot failure.
(16:20):
It's really your initiationinto something so much better.
We are literally in a whole newworld.
We are reimagining everythingright now.
So your creative power doesn'tbelong to the hustle culture.
That's a good thing, because itbelongs to you, and if you're
ready to claim it, to write fromalignment, not exhaustion, I
(16:44):
would love for you to join me inthis next evolution.
So head over toauthorrevolutionorg forward
slash Kickstarter to check outthe Write Frame of Mind and
Write your Reality campaign.
Honestly it says Write yourReality, but it's.
I never anticipated redoingfrom the ground up, write Frame
of Mind, but I just felt calledto reimagine how that book works
(17:07):
for us, because of everythingthat I've learned over this past
year specifically.
So I would love for you to backit, to share it, or to just
read through and feel what'spossible when you stop forcing
and start trusting.
Okay, the revolution startswhen you say yes to doing it
differently.
Think about that.
(17:29):
Are you ready to do thingsdifferently, to look more
closely at your heart's desires?
I hope so.
As always, my friend, enjoy theprocess, create from your heart
and soul and go forth and startyour author revolution.
(18:16):
You.
