Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to the Author
Revolution Podcast.
I'm Carissa Andrews, author andyour host here to help indie
authors like you master mindset, harness manifestation and
embrace cutting-edge innovationto elevate your career.
Let's dive in.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Well, hey there guys,
welcome back to the Author
Revolution podcast.
Okay, let me ask you something.
Have you ever followed a booklaunch checklist to the letter,
like we're talking, all the waydown to like the very last thing
, only to end up stressed outand overwhelmed and probably
wondering even if you're doingit right?
Or maybe you skipped thechecklist altogether, like I
have not gonna lie, and said, screw it, because you wanted to
(00:50):
just launch your book and hitpublish without sending maybe
even a single email, and thenfelt weirdly guilty for not
doing more.
Yeah, if that's you, you are sonot alone.
Like I said, I've been there onboth ends of the spectrum.
Now the truth is, mosttraditional launch strategies
were designed for traditionalpublishing and a lot of us in
(01:13):
the indie space we kind of justtook them on board and tried to
continue on with it.
And you know, for high energyand neurotypical marketers who
thrive on doing all the things,it's probably just fine.
But let's be real, that'sreally not most of us right In
the author space, especiallywhen we're neurodivergent, we're
juggling other jobs, parenting,or we just don't vibe with the
(01:36):
rigid, like one size fits allkind of rules.
And that's where I think a lotof us most of us maybe get
tripped up.
We try to squeeze ourselvesinto someone else's launch model
and some of us do that becausewe believe that they're going to
know better, right?
So we follow those 30-stepformulas that we found in a blog
post or in a course, thinkingif I just do it right, I'll
(01:59):
finally get the results I'mlooking for.
But guess what?
The right way quote, unquoteisn't the same for everyone.
And over the years you know mydecade plus when it comes to
putting out books, launchingbooks, figuring out my strategy
and what works for me I canhonestly say I wish I would have
understood this part of itsooner.
(02:20):
Right Now, here's something Iwant you to really listen up for
.
Okay, when you launch a bookusing a plan that doesn't match
your specific energy, your goalsor even your audience, it
doesn't matter how many stepsyou check off Like I'm a double
Virgo, right, I love all thechecklists, doing all the things
and saying, woohoo, I did itall, but what ends up happening?
(02:41):
You're not going to like it.
You're going to end up feelingburnt out, disappointed by the
results, or like you've somehowfailed, even if you didn't.
And that's why today's episodeis all about rethinking the way
that we approach book launches.
Now, if you know me, you knowthat I'm all about
revolutionizing the way that wecome at indie authorship Well,
(03:03):
most things, but definitelyindie authorship.
Now, today, we're not talkingabout throwing the strategies
out the window.
We're talking about creating astrategy that actually fits you
like, literally you One thatfeels aligned, doable and, dare
I say it, even fun.
I'll share what that kind oflaunch plan looks like next and
(03:24):
how it's different fromeverything you've probably tried
before.
Okay, so, if traditionallaunches are not cutting it for
you, if the way that you've beendoing things just doesn't feel
aligned.
What does work?
Well, let's talk aboutsomething I like to call an
aligned launch plan.
Now, if you've been followingme for a while, you already know
that I'm very big intoalignment.
(03:44):
This past year has been a hugeone when it comes to finding my
inner soul, finding what feelsright, finding what it is that
actually lights me up in termsof content creation, sharing my
stuff, just being more me right.
And alignment in manifestationterms is all about doing this in
our own energetic flow.
(04:05):
So what is an aligned launchplan?
Well, this is a plan that isnot centered around doing more.
It's about doing what makesmore sense for you.
It takes into account yourspecific goals, your book's
genre, your timeline and this isthe big one your specific
energy levels.
Because, let's face it, some ofus are ready to go all in with
(04:27):
a big you know, pre-order pushor bonus bundles and a full
social media blitz, like we cango all in.
We can do all the things, andsome of us, well, we just want
to quietly release our book toour email list, keep it low key
and then go take a nap.
Right, and both of those aretotally valid, but the indie
author space makes it seem likeyou're failing.
(04:49):
If you pick the latter, okay.
Now an aligned launch plan, inmy personal opinion, starts with
clarity, because in order toreally create what we want, to
create the lifestyle we want asan author, we have to ask
certain questions, right?
So the aligned launch plan askswhat does success look like for
(05:11):
this specific book?
Okay, do you want to grow yourlist, get more reviews, hit a
specific revenue goal, or maybeyou're just not wanting to burn
out in the process?
Right, once you're clear onyour vision of success for this
launch, it becomes so mucheasier to choose the launch
style, the timeline and thetasks that get you there without
(05:32):
all the extra fluff.
Okay.
Now here's where it gets reallyfun.
When you combine this alignedapproach with a tool like
ChatGPT, that's where you unlocka whole new level of support.
You know me, you know how Ilove to utilize new technology,
new tools.
We've talked about ChatGPT alot and that's because I kid you
not it is still, to this day,the best AI platform for authors
(05:56):
, especially as it continues togrow with us.
So, like I said, this is whereyou're going to unlock a whole
new level of support, and no,I'm not talking about AI taking
over your launch or spitting outcookie cutter plans here.
That's not the goal, that's notthe vibe right.
I'm talking about using it asyour strategic co-pilot, someone
to help you brainstorm, organize and tailor your plan
(06:19):
step-by-step, based on theactual inputs that you give it.
Okay, it's like having aproject manager who works 24
seven and doesn't judge yourcaffeine levels.
Okay, mine might be a littlebit high, but you get my point
right.
So we're going to get into howthat works in a masterclass
coming up this month in July.
We're going to go into thenitty gritty in that class, but
(06:41):
for now, just know this Ifyou've been feeling like launch
planning is overwhelming ormisaligned or just plain broken
in general which is where I wassitting at for a very long time
there is a better way, and itstarts with you giving yourself
permission to do it your way.
So let's talk about the AI part, okay, because I know some of
(07:03):
you are curious and maybe alittle bit skeptical, especially
if you haven't taken any of myother previous masterclasses on
AI.
And I totally get it rightthere's a lot of buzz going
around out there about AIwriting your books or replacing
your creativity or giving youbrain rot.
But that's not what we're doinghere, okay, what we're talking
(07:23):
about is using ChatGPT as astrategic partner, as a
strategic planner Not all of useven though I'm high in
strategic not all of us thinkstrategically, and sometimes
it's great to have an outsourcedtype of partner that can really
help you.
Think of it like a brainstormbuddy, who's always available,
never gets tired, doesn't rollits eyes when you ask the same
(07:46):
question five different ways.
I might be guilty of thismultiple times.
Okay, ask me how I know, right?
Yeah, that's how it works.
But it's so fun because I'vebeen using this not only for the
strategic planning of mylaunches, but for strategic
planning in so many differentareas.
Now here's the magic okay, whenyou combine your unique book,
(08:07):
your goals and your preferenceswith the right prompts, chatgpt
can actually help you clarifyyour vision for your launch,
choose a launch style thatactually fits your energy level,
break down your content andtasks into manageable chunks
because, let's face it, nobodywants to get overburdened, burnt
out, overwhelmed because theconfused mind does nothing right
(08:29):
and it will even help youbrainstorm creative ways to
monetize after and through orwithin or without, without
feeling salesy.
Okay, and the best part is it'snot a rigid template.
It's fully customizable.
You get to guide the processand ask ChatGPT to help bring
structure and ideas to the tablereally, really fast, and you
(08:51):
can do this for every singlelaunch.
But if you like your certainlaunch plan, once you get one
underway now, you can access itand use it every single time too
.
It's not about having torecreate the wheel, but
sometimes we do need flexibilityin our launches, and so, if you
need to be able to, you know, plan and pace out the different
launches differently.
(09:11):
This is a fantastic way to doit.
So, instead of staring at ablank page or cobbling together
advice from 10 different blogposts, you're going to create a
launch plan that feels clear, personalized and totally doable.
But and this is important youdon't need to be a tech wizard
to make it work right.
You just need to ask the rightquestions, and that's what we're
(09:34):
going to walk you through inthe AI-powered Launch Lab
Masterclass on July 25th.
Okay, we're going to walk youthrough in the AI powered launch
lab masterclass on July 25.
Okay, we're going to go step bystep.
So by the end, you're not onlygoing to have a launch strategy,
but you're also going to knowhow to use chat GPT to support
your process again and again, for every single one of your
book launches.
So stick with me here, becausein the next part, I'll tell you
(09:56):
how to join us live and startbuilding your own aligned launch
plan.
All right, so if you're noddingalong and thinking, yes, this
is what I need, then let meofficially invite you to that
next step.
Okay, so, like I said, I'mhosting a free live masterclass
called the AI powered launch lab, and it's all happening live on
YouTube this month, so that youcan join from wherever you are,
(10:19):
no special software required, and in this one hour session,
I'm going to show you how to useChatGPT to co-create a launch
plan that actually works for you, and that means your genre,
your goals and, most importantly, your energy level.
Like I said, no more burnout, nomore cookie cutter plans, just
real strategy made personal.
Now we're going to cover how toclarify your launch vision,
(10:42):
even if you're still figuring itout, choosing a launch model
that feels good, because thereare multiple launch models.
Right, I want you to map outyour content without overwhelm,
because we have enough of thatin this space anyway, and, like
I said, even add a littlemonetization magic.
Without feeling salesy, this isthe exact process I use and
(11:02):
teach my students.
So you're going to learn how tomake ChatGPT your launch
co-pilot, not your overlord.
And, the best part, I've evencreated a custom GPT to go along
with this entire class.
So the strategy that I'mteaching on how to use ChatGPT
and how to create this processover and over, that's going to
(11:23):
be there for you.
But it's also been built intothe custom GPT.
So I have Launch Lab custom GPT.
It understands the methodologybehind what I'm going to be
teaching.
It understands the process, thefour step process, and it's
also going to like when you askthe questions, there are prompts
that are in there already, butyou can ask whatever questions
you need to.
It will get you started on yourlaunch plan strategy and ask
(11:46):
you questions one at a time.
I went through and really kindof put a lot of energy into
wanting to get this thing towork.
For those of us who are alreadyfeeling a bit overwhelmed,
right, sometimes ChatGPT cangive you like 16 steps all in
one prompt answer, and for methat's not quite the vibe, right
.
We want to be able tobrainstorm just a little bit at
(12:07):
a time, without letting ourbrain ping pong all around.
So I went through, I tweaked it, I gave it all the information,
tweaked it again, played withit and now it's gotten to the
point where I'm even using itfor my Kickstarter that I
currently have for CarissaKnight.
It's the one for dirtydevelopments.
I'm brainstorming newmethodologies, new ways that I
want to be able to, you know, share what dirty developments is
(12:31):
doing on the Kickstarter, allthe things.
And what's great about it isthat I can do it mid-launch,
like literally.
I'm halfway through the monthof July and it ends July 31st,
but I'm creating new things thatI didn't even plan for when I
was doing this before.
So it's amazing.
You get access to that customGPT by joining this class, and
(12:53):
there will also be a promptdownload that you can access as
well.
So to get all of the details toget signed up, you just head
over to authorrevolutionorgforward slash 274.
Again, that'sauthorrevolutionorg forward
slash 274.
You can save your spot, markyour calendar and come hang out
with me.
Live.
We're going to walk through somuch stuff and you're going to
(13:16):
walk away with a plan that feelstotally doable and, dare I say
it, maybe even a little fun.
All right, that wrapseverything up for today's
episode.
I am super excited about thisone.
You are going to have anabsolute blast getting over the
hang-ups, the things that havebeen keeping you stuck when it
comes to launching your books.
(13:36):
I know you're going to enjoy it, so get signed up.
I can't wait to see you insidethe masterclass.
So go forth and start yourauthor revolution.
You.
