The spiritual journey's greatest obstacle is our own identification with a separate self that's seeking enlightenment. True seeking means recognizing that what we're looking for is already within us - there has only ever been the Self.

• The journey is circular, bringing us back to what was always present but overlooked
• Self-realization isn't something to be attained but the understanding that only the Self exists
• Body, mind, name and form are merely narratives playing out within awareness
• Happiness arises naturally when we dissolve our identification with a separate self
• Living as the formless means operating from the understanding that you are not the doer
• Even the desire for enlightenment can delay the recognition of what you already are
• True surrender isn't an action but a relaxation into what is already present
• The humility of considering oneself a perpetual seeker remains vital even after profound realizations
• Pure consciousness wouldn't declare itself "enlightened" - that comes from the separate self
• By dissolving all concepts and identifications, we discover our natural state of bliss and contentment

Speaker 1 (00:00):
While you're on this spiritual journey, there's
always a feeling that there is ame.
I am on this journey and I'm onthis path.
I have to achieve something.
I don't know if I can achieveit or not achieve it, but I'm
going to go for it, or I maygive up it or I may give up.

(00:30):
The biggest problem that wehave in the spiritual journey is
the notion that there is an Ithat is on the journey.
Now, what I mean by that is notnecessarily the I of awareness,
but the me and mine that'snormally associated with the
body and the mind.
So when we are invested in thisbody and in this mind, when we

(00:51):
identify with it completely, then it's very difficult for us
to really rest in awareness, really to be in that boundless,
peaceful awareness.
If we are to be true seekers, then the whole point of seeking

(01:18):
is to actually realize that theone that you're seeking is
already within you, that thiswhole journey is like a full
circle and you only realize it'sa full circle if you are
consciously aware.
Consciously and acutely aware,I would say, and acutely aware,

(01:46):
I would say.
This path is not about gettingyourself to enlightenment.
It's not about you getting toself-realization or achieving,
or attaining self-realization.
It's actually realizing thatthere was only the self to begin
with.
There was never a me or a mind.
There was never a me or a mind.
There was never a body and amind.

(02:08):
There was never a name and aform.
It was literally just animagination that was going on.
A little narrative, and thenarrative isn't bad, it serves a
.
So I'm not going to condemn thenarrative and I'm not going to
condemn the imagination.
But you see, to truly be aseeker, you really have to allow

(02:35):
yourself to remove all aspectof your existence, all aspect of
your existence, meaning thatyou don't seek with memory, you

(02:55):
seek with the freshness of themoment, you seek with the
understanding of what is hereright now.
You can be happy right now bysimply dissolving.
In fact, let's say very simplylet yourself dissolve.

(03:21):
Let yourself dissolve toawareness, to pure consciousness
, to Brahman, to this Nirankar, this pure, formless awareness.
Just dissolve yourself away andyou see, in this dissolving

(03:42):
you're actually solving life'sbiggest question, life's biggest
purpose, and that is to realizewho you really are.
You see, we can even bring upthe notion that, oh well, if I'm
not the body of mind, then Imust be a soul.
Well, what is the soul?

(04:04):
The soul is none other than Goditself.
Even if you say it's a part ofGod, even then that's still God.
It's not separate to God, it'sstill in the oneness of God.
So, even when we say there's apart, it's actually misleading

(04:28):
somewhat, but necessary also forbeginners to understand, and
sometimes it's easier to digest, because the whole notion that
you know, one is pure awareness,is or one is god, is not so
easily uh, it's not so easilyaccepted or understood, and and

(04:53):
the dangerous aspect is that itcan become the ego.
So let yourself dissolve, don'tlet there be a notion of
yourself.
And what I mean by this is likeyes, in the actions, we, we do
remember, we're not the doer.
So your awareness, the body isdoing, the mind is doing the

(05:15):
thinking, you know you not, you're just simply the awareness
where all that is arising andyou're just simply the witness,
consciousness, of that.
You're the witness of that.
That's it and that is what ismeant to live as the formless,

(05:36):
and ultimately that's how we areto live.
We are to live with thatunderstanding that we are
formless, and then anything wesay or we do is coming from a
place of consciousness, comingfrom a deeper place.
It's not necessarily justsomething we say on a whim.

(06:02):
Say on a whim, see, the biggestthing to understand in this
journey is that if you stillhave some sort of desire, even
for enlightenment or whatever,or you, you think you can
surrender in this moment, andyou desire to surrender, see,
when you're desiring it's onlydelaying to be what you are
right now.
You know a lot of people saythat they just surrender to God

(06:23):
and let God do everything.
But you know we can't actuallydo that because, you see, the
moment we, we say this, we areperforming an action.
So this whole let yourselfdissolve or let yourself

(06:46):
surrender is not an action, it'sa relaxation, it's just a
recognition of what is and whatis here right now.
And when you speak from thatplace, when you do, when your
actions are done from that place, when your intentions are from
that place, then that place isfull of peace, calmness, beauty.

(07:10):
See, beauty is a big thing, itcomes from grace and that is the
way you can be a fruitfulseeker.
Now, the reason why I say aseeker is because, even if you
find the very thing you'relooking for, you're not going to
find the very thing you'relooking for being a seeker just

(07:31):
keeps you humble.
Because the moment you say, ohwell, I'm enlightened or I'm
self-realized, then the questionwill naturally arise but who is
saying that I am self-realized?
Because surely will Brahman, orpure consciousness, say, hey,
I'm enlightened or hey, I'mself-realized?

(07:54):
Like that wouldn't happen, wouldn't happen, that would be
weird.
Like, think about it logicallyif you are this pure, formless
awareness, how can that everdeclare itself as enlightened?
Yes, again, for the sake of theworld, to understand that

(08:17):
things are put into boxes andthere are differences, for sure,
but ultimately an enlightenedperson doesn't have to say that.
Because, again, let yourselfdissolve, let all your concepts
dissolve away, let all yourdesires dissolve away, let all
your ambitions, let all yourname and form just let it all

(08:41):
just dissolve and just dissolveand dissolve, dissolve into
awareness, the moment thethought arises that I'm this
body, I'm this mind, justdissolve those, that that
association, just dissolve itand you can do it.
And that is.

(09:04):
And welcome to the Beardy MysticPodcast.
I'm your host, rahul N Singh,and ultimately that's what I
have to say because it's apodcast, but I found the most
amount of happiness or happinessarises when one just rests into

(09:26):
pure awareness, pureformlessness.
And when one does that, there'sbliss, there's peace, there's
contentment.
There's nothing more that youwant or desire.
And when one does that, there'sbliss, there's peace, there's
contentment.
There's nothing more that youwant or desire.
You're just complete in thismoment and it's only this moment

(09:46):
that's really eternal here andit will always be eternal.
It will always be timeless,boundless.
There's no beginning or end toit.
It doesn't start and it doesn'tfinish.
Just understand that.
That's what it is.
So that's the end of theepisode.
See you in the next one.
Take care, namaste.
