Don't miss it. Hey, this is Jimmy St. hosted
the live and in color with Wolfie D podcast here.
The Life and Times of professional wrestler Wolfie D.
From his time in the territorieswith PG13 to his time in
WWEECWWCWTNA and more. Nothing is off limits and

(00:22):
nothing will be held back. Thanks again for tuning in.
Here he is. Wolfie D.
Welcome, welcome, welcome once again to live and in color with
Wolfie D and my man Jimmy acrossthe street.
And we got a Part 2. Don't do a lot of these.
We got a Part 2 with Doctor JohnRichards.
Yes, always talk to Tom man. Oh, dude, totally.

(00:44):
I'm excited, man. He's, you know, that guy's
touched so many people in his career, you know, so many.
I mean, from literally, I think he might be the Kevin Bacon.
I mean, he, he's one of those like wrestlers that's like the,
you know what I'm saying, 'causeI mean, I mean, theoretically
there's a lot of y'all that could be the Kevin Bacon of
wrestling to where, you know, you're 6°, you basically 6° away

(01:08):
from everybody. But really, he just feels like
he he's touched everyone, it seems.
Like so, yeah, yeah. And I'm, I'm lucky enough to,
you know, have have been in a program with him and Jimmy Del
Rey, you know, and that was kindof hands on, you know.
Yeah, and I'm. Training with Doctor John.
Man, what, what would you say? Like let's just say before you

(01:29):
get him on here, what would you just, is it smooth, crisp?
Is that what you would consider Tom like as a wrestler?
Yeah, yeah, for sure man. And just psychology the whole 9
man. And The thing is man, just some
guys are able to pass that on and be able to teach it.
Some guys can't. Some some really good wrestlers.
I think maybe you talked about this like I don't believe Jerry

(01:52):
Lawler's ever trained to anybody, but we know how good
he. Is and you know.
Just, or they don't want to messwith it.
And, and Tom's one that, you know, obviously enjoys doing it
and has a knack for being able to, you know, pass the knowledge
on in a way that's understandable I reckon.
Yeah, I mean, it's, it's funny how all like, you know, he he
basically just was like, look, Ihave the temperament, I guess.

(02:15):
And I agree, man, I don't think I could do it.
I really don't because I'm not. I mean, I'm kind of like, you
don't get it. What are you not getting?
About this, I'm kind of the sameway.
Even though I did teach a few people, it does get frustrating
when you have the ones that comein that you're really not too
high on teaching, you know, and you kind of know, just not going

(02:35):
anywhere. And, you know, back in the day,
we a little bit try to run them off and stuff.
And, you know, sometimes I feel bad about that.
But the man, that's just the wayit was and it was the way it was
taught to me. And, you know, business has
changed and, you know, so is theworld.
But yeah, man, that's just, you got to have a little bit of

(02:56):
patience. But you, you like, he's like,
he'll probably agree that you know, you, you can, you can kind
of tell, I'm not saying you can tell a superstar, but you can
tell if somebody's going to get it or not like a little bit, you
know, right, Right at the beginning, almost right, right.
You know, and it's tough, man, because you kind of you, you

(03:16):
have that line of like, look, dude, life's short, live your
life, be happy. If you want to be a wrestler, go
try to wrestle. But I think it's expectations,
you know what I'm saying? Like if you're going to go work
a Saturday night show, a Friday night show in your hometown and
you don't really leave your hometown as long as your

(03:36):
expectations are to entertain your local friends and family,
well, then hey, man, do it, you know, But maybe keep those
expectations a little realistic.You know, I'm a dreamer, you
know, I'd say you're a dreamer too, you know, and sometimes
those dreams get you there and sometimes you don't.
But just say stay realistic. That's what I would say to these

(03:58):
people. Yeah, anyway, for sure, man.
For sure. Well, let's don't waste much
time other than let's let's. Well, you know what?
Maybe we'll save that with Tom. Talk about some WrestleMania
coming up. Possibly, yeah.
But all right, we'll be right back with Doctor Tom Pritchard
after these messages. Hey folks, to get your official

It's very important to us and always appreciated.
Thanks again. All right, guys, we're back.
And today we got a repeat customer.

(05:04):
The doctor, Doctor Tom, is back with us, Doctor John Richards.
What is going on my friend? Well, see, everything's going
on. What's going on with you?
That's the. Question man, just sitting here
catching up on a little bit of Monday night.
Rizal, what have you seen the ElGrande Americano?
I have not, but I know it's ChadGable under the mask, right?

(05:28):
Yeah. Tom Cafe man, Jeez.
Oh, wait a minute, are we on theair?
Oh, prank call, Prank call. That wasn't me.
Sorry, man, I think that she wasso hilarious though, especially
the little vignette they did where it was like he, you know,
looked all old timey and like hewas this, you know, legendary

(05:50):
luchador. That's just funny to me.
I think they should push that tothe fucking moon.
Yeah, they probably will. Yeah.
So how is JPWA going? You know, man, it's wrestling
school. So if you've ever done wrestling
school, you know what it is. Know what I mean?
We had six people this term, this term, this time around, and

(06:10):
hopefully we'll have maybe eightpeople next time, but I just
never know. And this class been pretty good.
We're about to graduate on on April 26th and everybody's doing
good. And and the course tell me about
your course, how you do it. So y'all do like a almost like a

(06:30):
what? Like it is like a course.
I guess it's so you're doing it for like so many months.
It's not like a indefinite wrestling.
Training, right? No, no, no.
It's a 12 week course and once you graduate, we can do advanced
class. But I just had surgery on my my
shoulder. I said just that.
I had it in December, but that'sfour months away.
Man, if you ever had any surgery, which I know you have,

(06:54):
you know the rehab process is in.
The physical therapy you got to go through is like, brutal.
And as a matter of. Fact I just.
Had shoulder surgery in January so I feel you.
OK, so you going to PT right nowthen, right?
Yeah, I got two more sessions, two more sessions.
I'll be good. Yeah, yeah.

(07:14):
Well, it's brutal, man. So I've been doing that.
And so we really haven't had anyadvanced class, but we do 12
weeks in JPWA and it's basicallybasics and fundamentals and you
know the. Rest he does real quick.
Let me ask you this real quick. If say after 12 weeks you feel
like man this ain't for you, do you tell them that?

(07:36):
Do they fail or or what? No, I, I mean, everybody has a
dream and they want to come and live their dream.
So at 12 weeks they have a matchand we put them in a match and
then they decide if it's not forthem or not.
But I mean, sometimes if they ask me, you know, what do I
think I'm going to tell them what I think.
Some people don't want to hear the truth.

(07:57):
But this isn't really for everybody, you know?
It's a lot more difficult. Yeah.
A lot more difficult than peoplethink.
And they get in and they think just because they watch it their
whole life on TV, it's easy and anybody can do it.
Well, that's not the case. So, you know.
Yeah. For sure.
That's just the way we do it. Now I remember, you know, people

(08:19):
talk about like all the people that you've trained and all
that. You're kind of known for being
this legendary trainer these days.
And you know, people have asked me like certain people that I've
worked with did, did you think like Randy Orton when you worked
with him back in OVW, did you think he was going to be great?
And my answer usually is is no. I mean, because I don't feel

(08:39):
that you could really. I mean, you could, you know, if
somebody gets it or not. But like I remember one of the
rocks very first matches in Memphis, he was terrible.
He's fucking terrible. And who would have known that
he'd turn out to what he is? You know, he caught along.
But do you, do you think you're good at I and like, OK, this
person is going to be really good or because I don't think I

(09:01):
am honestly. Well, I'll tell you no.
It is hard to to put your eye onsomebody and say they're going
to be a big star. But I'll tell you what I do.
When I lock up with them, I can pretty much tell if they can
have the aptitude to train or not or or learn.
Like when I first locked out with Batista, Batista had a
little bit of training, but he was light as a feather or locked

(09:23):
up with Randy, he was light as afeather too.
And Randy just had this innate ability, he was a natural.
So, you know, some guys, you just, you kind of get a feel for
him and know that at least they, they have an idea that they
don't have to be really stiff and, and so jarring in the very

(09:44):
beginning. And that takes a lot, a lot of
hard work in trying to learn howto relax and things like that.
But no, yeah, you can't, I I can't pick them out all the
time. You know, some people you you
think you're going to be winnersand some people aren't.
Yeah, yeah, and and so does yourdo y'all run shows like a
monthly show or is it just training?

(10:05):
Well, JPWA doesn't run shows, but we run our school out of a
place called Southern Pride Championship Wrestling in
Lafollette, TN and they run shows every two weeks and they
use a lot of our guys on the show.
Gotcha, gotcha. Experience.
Yeah. And so tell me about.
I noticed and maybe it's changedsince I first saw it because I

(10:26):
didn't really pay a whole lot ofattention to it.
That thing that's called what WWEID.
So there's some in some independent, some schools or
something that are what endorsedby WWE and I and I was, I didn't
see you and Glenn on there. So I was kind of curious as to
why not. Well, I think what they're
looking for right now is, is schools that actually do run

(10:48):
shows when we don't actually runshows.
It's a, it's a different companythan JPWA.
And you know, who knows they, they made contact us this year.
They may not, but no, we're not on the list yet.
So I don't, I don't know what's going on.
Do you have any idea what that really means?
Like what? What does it mean for the
wrestler? Honest to goodness, I don't.

(11:09):
I don't know if they pay him, ifthey pay him or give him a
contract and pay him and they can go work wherever they want
to do, but they got first dibs on them.
You know, the hands off AW and TNA and all those other places.
So, but I really don't, I reallydon't know what the specifics
are. In Terra Sante, I learned that
from El Grande Americano. He's teaching me a little

(11:32):
Spanish. Oh, that's Japanese.
That's Japanese. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I thought it was hilarious also.
And since you've already been onher once, it's it's, we can't
really go back over your career again.
We're gonna stay away from that. But I thought it was hilarious

(11:55):
that Glenn called out the, what's his name?
Tim Waltz. Tim Waltz.
Yes, that was hilarious. I loved it.
Well, I think Tim Waltz called him out first, and he said he
could. He said he could whoop all the
yeah, he could whoop all the Republicans or something.
Yeah, forgot about Glenn. Yeah.

(12:18):
Yeah, it was good. Oh my God.
Did you have you talked to him personally about that?
No, we haven't talked about that.
I saw him last week with that that was coming and just didn't
come up. Yeah, oh man, I'd love to hear
his I. Mean, I don't, I don't think, I
don't think Glenn would shy away.
I think Glenn would even like todo it as a as a charity event.

(12:38):
Yeah, yes. But see then, then he couldn't
like really stretch him. He'd have to be taken a little
bit easy on the guy. Yeah, well, it's all at work.
Yeah, unfortunately, yeah, in that situation, unfortunately.
Yeah, Oh. Jimmy, join in the conversation.

(13:01):
OK, so this I, Doctor Tom Pritchard, I, I, I got my
appointment with your receptionist and I greatly
appreciate you seeing me. And you're the only person I
believe who can actually answer this question.
OK, so we have had Jeff Crippler, Jeff Daniels on the
podcast before and he was telling us the story about how

(13:23):
he was working or doing some towns for Continental and he got
a little cross with Wendell Cooley.
OK, Jeff comes into the Shoney'sand I guess they're Wendell had
booked Jeff in a town and then they switched the towns act
after the town didn't run. I'm not 100% on that part of the

(13:45):
story. Anyway, Jeff walks into a
Shoney's and dumps a plate of food into Wendell Cooley's lap.
I'll just put it this way, I'm not a Wendell Cooley fan.
Me over in Mississippi and we had a few words and told Frankie
Lancaster to sit the fuck down and shut up or he would be next
and Tom Pritchard got my payoff and I never went back to

(14:08):
Continental. Leave it at that.
Here's the deal with that. All right, so Mike Davis, you
know, the promoter at IWF got pissed off at me because I
wanted, I wanted him to pay me. Imagine that.
So, so he throws a big fit and fires me.

(14:31):
I'm like, well, what the fuck? Ken Massey said that's bullshit.
I said, you know, it is what it is, I guess.
So he was already pissed at me. He had me working under a mask.
So he fired me and I was like, really?
All right, So I walked right outthe fucking curtain, took the
mask off. Walk right through the fucking
crap, boy, yes, and Mike Davis said be in Florence AL tomorrow

(14:56):
night. I was like Florence AL, that's a
long fucking ways. Well, you got a job be there.
I said all right, so I went up and it was a continental, but it
was after David Woods. It was when Cheryl Dunn it took
over and was trying to save it. I got you.
See that was my problem. I always got in on the tail end
of everything. Timing.

(15:16):
You know, it was just that time of the business.
But anyway, so I get up there the first night and walk in the
dressing room and I'm sitting there.
I don't know anybody. Nobody's friendly, you know.
And in walk Tracy Smothers, Tracy just come back from Mexico
and that's the night I met TracySmothers and was friends with

(15:36):
him till the day he died. Loved that man.
But we did a six man tag that night.
It was Wendell, Frankie and Tracy against me, the spoiler
and somebody else, you know, andhad a hell of a match.
And they're like, man, that was great.

(15:57):
Sort of be in Ponce de Leon, FL tomorrow.
I was like Ponce de Leon, FL. I'm almost in Tennessee.
So I drove from there to the Montgomery and got a room, spent
the night, drove the rest of theway to Florida.
And, you know, I, he gave me a salute.
We ain't got no money. So, you know, we'll get paid off
tomorrow night. He said, you know, here's 25

(16:18):
bucks. I'm like I said, I ain't even
enough gas to get to Florida. You know I'm already dipping in
my pocket. Yeah.
So so I get to Florida, right? And I'm working Adrian St.
Oh, yeah. And I'm like, wow, this is so
cool, you know? So that was the end of the run,
right? So Wendell says, all right,

(16:40):
Thursday we're in Philadelphia, Ms. I was like, OK, I'll be
there. And I got paid that night.
You know, you gave me 75 bucks. I was like, OK, you know, there
wouldn't very many people there. So I thought, all right, that's
probably not too bad. So.
So I go home to Louisiana, and Dominique's gonna ride back with

(17:01):
me. She said, well, I go ride with
you. This one.
I said, all right, get to Philadelphia, and I'm not seeing
posters anywhere. I can't find the building.
I'm trying to call Wendell. Yeah, no answer.
You know, back then wouldn't cell phones, I was calling his
house. So.
So finally his old lady answers, right.

(17:24):
And she says, oh, did did he nottell you?
Tell me what? Oh, they canceled Philadelphia.
They're in Greenwood, Ms. tonight.
I'm like, really? She's yeah.
He forgot to tell Adrian and Linda too.
They just said fuck it, they wouldn't go on.
I'm like, well, man, I'm alreadyup here.
I got to have fucking money. I said, all right, well, I'm

(17:45):
headed to Greenwood. So how far is that?
Do we tell him I'm on my way? I was like 3 hours.
So so I get to Greenwood as the semi main events going on.
Yeah, I was going to say yeah. And I get walked in the dressing
room and Wendell said hey, what are you doing here?
I said I was fucking booked. Oh.

(18:06):
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
I said, dude, you didn't tell mewe were here.
You told me. Philadelphia, Ms. Yeah, we were
going to run Philadelphia, but that changed and we got this
show. So we're here.
Yeah, but you drove me all the way to Philadelphia, Ms. for a
show that wasn't there without calling me.
Oh, man, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to overlook you.
I said, well, look, I'm here. I, you know, whether I work or

(18:29):
not, fucking the drove me two towns for you today.
I need to pay off. Oh yeah, yeah, brother, I'm
going to take care of y'all going to take care of y'all.
I'm so sorry. All right, so you know, I'm, I'm
watching Tom Pritchard in the main event because him and Tracy
are tearing the fucking house down, right?
And match is over and you know, I start looking around and

(18:51):
Wendell's fucking gone. So I'm like son of a bitch when
I was fucking raising hell and, and Tom, you know, I knew Tom
from Houston. I'd met him a time or two over
there, you know, because he was one of Paul Bosch's boys.
And Paul's the one that actuallysent me to San Antonio and got
me into business. So, So Tom's look, man, I know

(19:12):
this is fucked up, he said. But I'm fixing to take the book.
He said be patient, it's going to get better.
I said I don't know, dude. I said I'm pretty fucking
disgusted. Yeah, I know.
I said I can understand. So what?
You know, I drove all the way tothat other show which was
cancelled. He didn't tell me about this
one, this. So I drove here because I needed

(19:33):
to pay it off. Man, I made two towns for him,
even though I didn't work. That's a whole lot of driving.
He's yeah, yeah, You see, you deserve to pay off.
I said, well, he told me he was going to pay me, but he's gone.
Thompson says, well, he said, I can tell you where he's at.
Really. He said, yeah, he's at Shoney's.
They all go over there and make their payouts and everybody eats

(19:54):
and then they head back. I say, all right, I said, well,
I'm heading over there. So I walked in, walked over to
the table and I said, dude, you fucking took off without paying
me. Oh, man, you know, that's just
the way it is sometimes. I just flipped his plate in his
lap and I said, yeah, that's theway it is, motherfucker.
And when she started to get up, I said, don't get up,

(20:15):
motherfucker. I swear to God at this point I
will fucking kill you. By that time Tom walked in.
He's like, he's like a look brother, so you need to fucking
pay him. Give him this fucking payoff,
Cheryl, sitting right over there.
Get him some fucking money. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll get it.
So he got me 150 bucks and so you pay it out.

(20:37):
He said I don't need you no more.
I said what's a good fucking thing is I ain't coming.
Back. I fucking told Mike Davis
thanks, boy. I was a big favor.
You did me there, Mike. He's a cock sucker.
Is there any chance you rememberany of that, Tom?
Well, as well, if it can testify, you know, the 80s were

(20:58):
very, very kind, a lot of us andnot so kind to some of it.
Yeah. So I don't.
And then and that would have been the 80s.
So I don't. I don't actually remember ever
going out to eat with Wendell Cooley anywhere.
OK, at Shoney's after a show, maybe in Mississippi or
somewhere. No, no, because we never really
rode together. OK, OK, gotcha.

(21:21):
Yeah, yeah. That's not to say that didn't
happen because like I said, you know, we've we've all been down
a few roads. Yeah, of course and.
You know. Yeah, yeah.
Now, if that would have happened, if, if Jeff would have
knocked food in Wendell's lap, what would have been the
probable outcome there? Yeah, good question.

(21:44):
Well, I know Wendell would have come up swinging or I think he
would have come up swinging. So I don't know.
I don't know how if anything would have connected or or I
don't know what would happen after that, but I think there
would have released in some someother physicality going on.
Wendell said. He would have waxed his ass I
think was the terms. Well first and foremost, he is

(22:09):
absolutely 100% shit because I don't wax his ass.
If he'd have done that #2 I never booked anything.
So it's a bald face ass damn lieand you can tell him I said, so
wax his ass. If he would have confronted me
and throw the plate of food at yeah, I'm, I'm just not that

(22:34):
guy. If I tell you I'm going to do
something, I'm going to do it regardless.
So if I would have worked him ona show and I guaranteed him a
certain amount, he would have gotten that amount whether he
was worth a shit or not. The better man of my word.
And but far as that other shit, he's full.

(22:55):
He's full of shit. And tell him I said so please,
he's full of shit on that. I can tell you.
I can promise you that. But.
Yeah. Yeah, OK.
Well, hey, you know, we're, we're, we're just looking for
the answers here. We're not, we're not putting,
you know, any kind of, you know, nobody's guilty until we've, you
know, fully figured it out. I think we got a right clue.

(23:19):
I think we I think we're on to something.
I. Do too.
Yes. Yeah.
Yes, Sir. Yeah, I agree, Sherlock.
You're right. Yeah, probably.
Go ahead. Yeah.
OK, now you know the rest of thestory.
Yeah, that's. Next question, Jimmy?

(23:40):
OK, next question is the official George wyongroff pussy
hound question of the day. I'm a genius.
So he's, he's made it a point that we every episode we have to
ask this particular question of every wrestler.
He this is something that Georgeasked us to put in just for him.

(24:03):
Yeah, so, Tom, if this is, if this is something you don't want
to answer, you'll have to take it up with shooter George.
OK, so you got to ask he he sayswhich town had the best rats.
Man, I got to tell you, Pensacola was pretty good for
rats. Yeah, yeah.

(24:23):
Yeah, and it was. Yeah, yeah, it was.
You know Memphis wasn't bad. Yeah.
Yeah, OK, Well, maybe, maybe, maybe, I thought, well, hold on.
Maybe, maybe in the 80s, but definitely not in the 90s.
Yeah, not in the 90s, maybe not,but no, I mean every, every,

(24:43):
everywhere I went there, there always seem, you know, it was
still the territory days and it was still a lot of Wild West
stuff going on. And I got in right on the the
last days of that. And that was, that was a lot of
fun, man. So I mean, everywhere I went I
couldn't, I couldn't complain, man.
I didn't have any, didn't have any problem in that department.

(25:06):
I'm imagining so yes, Sir. Yeah.
Which one? Out of all the territories you
worked, which one was your favorite?
Well, I mean, I had fun in all of them, but again, I got to go
back to Pensacola and Birminghambecause of I was there with the
Armstrongs and yeah, just havinga blast.
And, you know, Gulf Freeze was like 10 minutes from the beach

(25:28):
and you didn't have to leave till sometimes 3:00 in the
afternoon to go to the towns and, and you're back by 11:30
and you could grill out and party.
And then just it was, it was like living in paradise every
single day. You working with people you like
to work with and towns you like going to and.
And that makes a difference. One in the front, yeah.

(25:51):
It made a whole hell, a whole hell of a lot of difference,
yeah. Yeah, especially the part about
working with your with your buddies, you know?
Yeah, yeah. Every night was not off.
Yeah, and, and being able to go out there and and, you know,
lock up and crack a joke and, and just have fun.
And the people didn't know any different.

(26:12):
No, they really didn't, man. And and, you know, it was like
you get there and and it was, you know, somebody say, hey,
what are you doing afterwards? And everybody get together at
the condo and like I said, cook out or have a good time and just
party all night and then get up the next day, go to the gym, go
to the beach and do it all over again.

(26:33):
Yeah, a lot of fun. There was a there was a time
period where I lived in an apartment complex in Nashville.
And also in that apartment complex was Gypsy Joe, Bobby
Eaton, Jackie and Chris Michaels.
I think that was it. Yeah.

(26:54):
Now talk about and then the kids, the kids, too, Our kids,
you know, and we'd all go to thepool and have a good time.
Man, It was fun. Yeah, yeah, that's a hell of a
crew. Yeah, yeah, man, Bless.
Damon, Damon, Damon, you alone carry that, Yeah.

(27:14):
But yeah, Bobby, how good he waswith the kids and stuff, man,
It's just, it was nice, you know?
Bobby was good with everybody. Yeah, Well, sure.
Yeah, yeah. But yeah, he loved the kids,
man. Yeah, he did.
I was working with Bobby. So you, you when you all worked
with, I mean, this is my absolute peak arid.

(27:35):
I mean, for me as a fan of peak arid, Doctor Tom Pritchard was
was, was. And I know you had incredible
run in the 80s too. But what I mean by that is that
early 90s run when I was watching you in Smoky Mountain,
I just absolutely thought y'all were the coolest and you and
Stan Lane and Bobby. Was that everything that you all
actually thought was going to goon further as a trio?

(27:57):
Or was this just, hey, look, Bobbye on the team for a little
bit? Was that kind of the deal?
Yeah, that was kind of deal. Bobby, I think was taking a
break from WCW. They they, I think Jimmy
borrowed him from WCW for a little bit and let him be on
there. But I didn't think, yeah, I
didn't think he was coming on affirmatively.
OK, yeah, that you got. I mean, because it kind of felt

(28:18):
like y'all were in two differentkind of places, if that makes
sense. And I'm not knocking Bob.
Yeah, yeah, not knocking Bobby. It just kind of felt like y'all
were kind of fired up and going One Direction and you know, I
don't know, it just seemed like a it didn't.
It was more surprising to see ARN and Tully in the WWE and

(28:39):
this is crazy to say and some people are going to shoot me
than it was to see the heavenly bodies.
I don't know why but it felt like y'all were almost.
Maybe it was the difference in eras, maybe that was it.
But I I know that. I think no, it was gonna say I
think too. You know, ARN and Kelly were so
WCW ingrained and and we really.Right.

(29:02):
I think we were just Smoky Mountain and we really hadn't
been exposed to the national scene there for a time, you
know, so and you got to remember, man, Bobby, Bobby and
and Dennis and then Bobby and Stan, you know, they, they had
runs, man. They already had their run.
And then by this time, you know,Smoky Mountain wasn't, wasn't

(29:22):
really, let's say it was, it wasa valiant effort, but it was
just the wrong time when business was changing yet, you
know, and and things were different and the styles were
changing and, and if you weren'ton that WWFTV at the time, you
know, and they just thought, yeah, you're just a piss Ant.

(29:43):
And and, you know, so just it was a different era.
It was different, different times and stuff.
But I think I think it was just a matter of timing on
everybody's part. No, that makes that makes a lot
of sense actually. And to hear you say that is
almost like what Wolfie feels when people say stuff similar to
that about Memphis because of that was everything, man, Smoky

(30:04):
Mountain was the best to me. And, you know, even though I
know now I look back and I see, OK, 400 people in council
Virginia, you know, it's like, OK, I get it.
Yeah, they're probably struggling there for a little
bit and I I start to see stuff like that.
And then. But in then in Morristown you
had a thousand 1500 people or inKnoxville you had 1900 or

(30:24):
something like that. So it wasn't like every town
that you weren't doing well in. It was just some of those
smaller towns maybe you know, and y'all went out.
There. You know.
Yeah, we did. We it was just a geographic area
we were in, you know, these small towns, you people who
wrestling fans, they wanted to come out and they want to see.
And WWF wasn't going to stop there, but Smokey Mountain.

(30:46):
Would. Yeah, yeah, I love that.
I love that. And I think y'all for them, you
know? Yeah.
Well, we thank, we thank everybody else for that too,
because that was awesome. Yeah, yeah, that was everything
man. I got, I got another one.
This is totally opposite direction actually.
But you know, I know you have a strong ties to Jean LaBelle and

(31:07):
anytime I can hear some Jean LaBelle stories, but what do you
think of the the the have you ever been asked the question
about him and Segal? Have you ever heard that one?
I've heard that one where he beat his ass.
Yeah, yeah. Do you know any of that story by
chance or? The Jean never said any.
I never heard that story from Jean LaBelle.
But but I mean, yeah, I've heardthat story many times over the

(31:29):
years. And I I would I would believe it
because Jean was that that kind of guy is well respected in
martial arts and wrestling in circles.
So yeah, I could. I could see it.
Said OK, so I'm, I'm the odd manout here.
I don't know the story and maybethe listeners don't.
Can you tell it? Oh yeah, OK, well, apparently
the Gaul was on set and bullyingsome of the stunt guys and

(31:51):
Steven Seagal, yeah, was on set and was bullying some of the
stunt guys and and push him around or, or being an extra
stiff with him during the scenesand shit.
I think Jane put him in his place.
Yeah, Jane kicked his ass. So that that's it in a nutshell.
And now that you say that, I do feel like I've heard that

(32:12):
before. I don't know why.
Yeah, and Seagal is such a lovable guy.
You know, he's such a lovable. Guy.
You know he's. Just such a comes across like a
Dick. Yeah, definitely he does.
He definitely does. And I know you kind of knew Gene
at a different era than when that would have happened.
So, you know, an older gene, an older and even maybe wiser gene,

(32:35):
you know, somebody, maybe Stevenwould say all this broken down
old man and then he whips his ass.
You know, that's pretty funny. Yeah, that's, I think that's
probably what happened too. I don't know.
I wouldn't mess with Gene. I wouldn't mess with Gene about
when he's 99 years old. It's kind of like a bullet.
I wouldn't mess with the bullet no matter what age he was.
Yeah, yeah, the bullet's the best God, man.

(32:59):
Hey. I want to go back real quick
because we were talking about Bobby and I mean, I hate it so
much that like I, I got to know Bobby was around him quite a bit
and but I never got to work withBobby How?
And I know you're going to say one of the greatest and all
that, but like, did he, did he call anything beforehand or did
he call everything on the fly? No, everything was on the fly.

(33:21):
Really. That's crazy because you.
You're. Like how the fuck did he call
that? Well, well, I think it's just
because he was in the ring with guys that that by the at that
time could work and he would call stuff and it was if you
watch his stuff, I mean, it's pretty, pretty simple, pretty
clear cut. And just you said, no, Bobby,
stuff is going to do to you. Yeah.

(33:43):
So I mean, he was that's the onefrom a great worker.
And he, he was the greatest, oneof the greatest, definitely.
Yeah, yeah. I hate it that I never got to
work with him. Man sucks.
Yeah. No doubt.
I, yeah, I mean, I just being inone locker room with him was
worth it for me. That was all I needed.

(34:05):
Let's take a quick timeout and get a word from one of my dope
ass sponsors and we'll be right back with more live and in color
with Wolfie D. You a pro wrestling fan?
We'll stop by Captain's Corner where you can get autographed
photos, cards, magazines, and figures from all of your

(34:26):
favorite wrestling superstars ofthe past, present, and future.
You'll also be able to participate in live signings in
the weeks and months to come. Make sure to stop by Captain's
Corner on Facebook and give us aholler.
Remember, cheers to the working man.
OK. So when you guys were, I'm
trying to think about how to word this.

(34:48):
So Ben Jordan, you know Ben Jordan, you know Ben, right,
Tom, I thought you did. Yeah.
Ben asked this question the other day and he was asking me,
and I want you guys to clear this up.
So Memphis in the 80s was Continental wrestling associate
What what did the CWA stand for that would I've heard some

(35:08):
people say it was Continental and then some people say it was
championship. What?
What did the? Continental.
Yeah, I I believe so. I can't remember it because
obviously I didn't work in the 80s in Memphis, but yeah, I
remember that logo with the Conan looking thing.
Yeah, yeah. I think it was the Continental
Wrestling Association. OK.

(35:30):
And then OK, 'cause Ben was likesaying I just remember the
Championship Wrestling Association, but I just was
curious like there was the Continental and then there was
Continental on the other side ofthis there too.
So where did, I guess my question is, is, was that
actually a thing there? There was 2 Continentals there
for a minute. I don't know if it was

(35:51):
necessarily, well, wait a minute, because when they call
the Continental wrestling, Federer Continental, it was the
continental Championship Wrestling was the one in
Alabama, the Continental. Was it wrestling?
Continental, Yeah. Continental Wrestling
Association. CWA was Memphis, I think.
OK, that's the one they brought in, made the world title and put

(36:17):
it on Billy Robinson, right? Yeah, I think that's it.
I couldn't find that I'm. Trying to find I know the I know
that one there. The the tag belts that were used
in USWA actually came from Continental.
Those were, yeah. That's true.
Yeah. Yeah.
Held those a few times. To Tom, Yeah, but but but.

(36:39):
Robert Fuller, I mean, it could be Jerry Law, Jerry Lawler,
Jerry Jarrett called him that, you know, while he was working
with Robert Fuller. I don't know.
That's, that's a good question. Now I'm thinking about it.
I don't know, maybe they did it.Was funny too in saying that
because the talk about those titles, the tag titles, they

(37:00):
came from Continental and they were used in in Memphis, but
they actually say USA champion tag team.
It doesn't say. USWA doesn't say the USA
Championship. Well, you know where those
belts, the ones the USA belts were the ones Ron had in
Knoxville when he was in Knoxville and USA Championship

(37:23):
Wrestling? So that was called USA
Championship Wrestling. Right.
Yeah, that was. Knox Okay, all right, I always
thought they. Can Alabama was a different one.
Gotcha. Yeah.
OK, that clears it up a little bit there.
Very nice. Yeah.
I mean it's. It's good to know the history of
a belt that I held 15 damn times.

(37:43):
Very nice. 15 times a long time,Wolfie.
Yes, and it's also getting beat a lot too.
And they didn't even take it with her to the.
You got to win them back. They didn't even take it with
them to the WWE, the one chance they could have and Vince said,
hey, where's your tag belts at? Yeah, no, they didn't tell us no

(38:04):
because you remember. OK, so 95, the first time we go
up there, they give us a win andthen we work the smoking guns
for the titles, right? For the WWF titles, well, we
come walk into the ring, nobody told us, you know, because back
then Vince never put over other companies never.
And and Vince and Lawler were oncommentary and Vince says he he

(38:28):
calls us the USWA tag team champions and we got no belts on
because we didn't bring them because we didn't think it was
we'd be able to wear them out. But we could have we could have
had that opportunity and didn't didn't know little trivia there.
Well, we used. Smoky Mountain belts.
Yeah, that's wondering. What year would that have been
that you use? Not that was 1993, right?

(38:52):
Or 90? No 91?
No. Let's see.
When did we go? We went there, 93.
Yeah. We brought the Smoky Mountain
belts, huh? Well, nobody told us to, well,
our opportunity, but at least they called us that, you know,
even though we didn't have any belts to show for it.

(39:12):
Well, that's all right. You guys do it?
Yeah. We sure as fucked in.
Yeah. Missed opportunity.
Yeah, Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah.
OK, so I'm going to get into some wrestling questions.
All right, so who's the easiest wrestler you ever trained?

(39:32):
Oh, I don't know if there's everan easy, easy wrestler, but I
mean, gosh. Quickest learner maybe could be
sure. That, that's sure.
Do what? Quickest learner.
Quickest learner. Quickest learner.
Quickest learner, I think Kurt Angle, I have to say that the
guy who came in and or an amateur wrestler, because that

(39:55):
was so foreign to him. But he he, he was a quick, quick
learner. He pretty much got this.
Yeah, yeah. They sent him to Memphis when
Randy was running Power Pro and I, he, he got hitched with me
quite a bit. Now with that was that that
would have been after you started training him right?
Say like around 19. 99 Yeah, yeah.
Oh yeah, yeah. He was definitely like, because

(40:18):
like I worked with him early on.I've worked with a lot of them
early on and definitely man he was.
He was good from the get go. Yeah, he had an idea what was
happening, man, He knew he was easy, that gold medal.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK.
So who was the, who was the hardest to train or I, I would

(40:40):
say who, who didn't get it and, and and then ended up getting
it. That surprised you maybe.
Do you have one like that? Mark Henry took a little bit,
but if he wound up getting it. Yeah, I mean he's.
You know, in the beginning he did it.
Yeah, yeah, he he. But he got it.
He loved the business. Yeah.

(41:00):
I'm glad he got yeah. The one who probably was the
hardest and didn't get it was Bracus.
Oh man, I remember him. Bracus.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I had to work with someone who
got. Where did he come from?
Where did Bracus come from? He was from Lai mean from

(41:21):
Germany really, but he was a bigbodybuilder from LA and every
time we go into A to a gym, likelike a real gym that had the
Iron Man and not Muslim fitness, but Iron Man and the hardcore
bodybuilding magazines on the onthe table as you walk in,
there's Brock is on the cover ofmost of them.

(41:42):
I remember when he was in Memphis he and they sent him to
Memphis and the rumor has it, I don't know but his girlfriend
broke up with him because his farts smell so bad that they
sunk up the house all the time from where he ate so much and
all that. Protein.
Yeah, protein farts were so bad his girlfriend broke up with

(42:02):
him. I.
Mean wow well. I was just I just wanted to know
what your response. To That was going to be Tom.
Yeah. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know how to respond to
that. That's terrible, I guess.
Huh. It's got to be bad.
I'm going to miss. Her I'll miss.
Her, yeah. Burt.

(42:26):
Oh my. Goodness, yeah, man, I had to
work with a bunch of those guys that some of the power plant
guys too. You remember the dude that was a
bobsledder, Olympic bobsledder guy?
No, I think he was power. Plant.
Yeah, he was. Probably WCW.
Yeah, I think he was. And then there was a dude that
was with him. They called him Max Muscle from
WCW two. He was a big bodybuilder guy and

(42:48):
we had to work with them. And a funny story is we we had
the belts and it was a Friday night on a Buddy Wayne town,
right? And Buddy Wayne comes to me and
Jamie and he says he's giving usthe finish.
And the finish is Jamie's got one of them in a Boston crab.
Just track the riff. And the other guy comes and hits
Jamie with a chain 123 and me and Jamie, you know, buddy

(43:13):
walked away and we kind of looked at each other and we
thought he's he's is he ribbon? I mean, he wants us to drop the
belts here the night before TV, you know, to these guys.
And so he said maybe he is ribbon or something.
So Jimmy and me go up to Buddy. He said, Buddy, you know, we
can't do that finish, right? And he had two, he had in one

(43:33):
hand he had a bag of popcorn, the other hand he had a bag of
popcorn. He was like heading to the
concession stand or something. And he took the popcorn.
He slammed on the ground at the same time.
He's God damn prima Donna son ofa bitches.
And he threw the popcorn on the floor and then holy shit.
And he said, Jamie, do you thinkthat these people will believe

(43:57):
that you and Wolfie can beat these two boys?
And Jerry said, I don't know buddy, but I think what they
will believe is we wrestling tonight and we we left.
Yeah. Yeah, well, we didn't get no
heat because, I mean, we couldn't drop the belts on his
show, you know, Randy got hot atthem.

(44:17):
So Buddy Buddy didn't like old Wolfie and Jamie too much
because we didn't wear tights, we didn't wear boots, didn't
grab a hole. Y'all were.
Your anti your anti establishment way back then.
Oh yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, grab a halt. Grab a halt.
Yeah, exactly. Old buddy, do you have any any

(44:41):
good funny Buddy Wayne stories? No, not really.
I mean, I'm sure I do, but nothing I can think of.
I got a good guy coffee story. I got Miss Coffee mad at me one
time. You know, Mr. Coffee was the
Yeah, Mr. Coffee was the makeshift commissioner at at the
town one time and he came out and reversed the decision on me

(45:02):
or something like that. And Miss Coffee was at the
gimmick table and I came back and said, damn, Miss Coffee, I
can't believe you with that man.Or something like that, or I
don't remember exactly what I said.
And she was drunk and she went up and said, don't you talk
about my husband like that, you son of a bitch.
She was when they hit me and swat me and oh man, I I bought

(45:22):
her the bottle of Jack Daniels the next day, the little, the
little bottles of Jack. I bought her like 6 bottles of
Jack and apologize to her. Yeah.
She didn't talk to me the rest of the rest of the time I was
there though. Yeah, that's funny.
Now you remember, you remember the all the rumors about Mr.
Coffee's toupee and that it was buttoned on and all that kind of

(45:45):
stuff. Some people say it was Velcro,
some people said it was buttons. What do you think?
I think it's Velcro, Don. I don't think you can button
that thing like that. Yeah.
You're looking toupee. Oh, man.
Yeah, I think. I think Miss Coffee wore a
toupee, too. She wore a wig.

(46:07):
Yeah. You know what cracked me up,
man, is that nobody ever caught on to the whole Mr. Coffee
coming to the curtain gimmick, you know, for the go home on TV.
Nobody ever got known to that asfar as I know.
You know, like the people. I've never heard anybody say,
yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, it's so obvious.
It's right there in your face. Yeah, hiding in plain sight.

(46:30):
Exactly, exactly. Yeah, the toupee was Velcro.
Yeah, I mean Velcro. Velcro.
Can you imagine? Man, that was funny stuff.
Jimmy, you got another wrestlingquestion.
Of course, so I I'm just curiousactually about tell me the story

(46:51):
about booking that the storylinethat was specifically about
Sonny leaving and then going to this the guns and you guys
hiring cloudy. Which was, oh God, yeah, that
was that was, I think that was intentionally debarious.
Oh man, OK. Yeah, that was intense.
But I think that was just a big rib get Tammy away from Chris

(47:16):
and she was with Sean back then and I think that was just the
way to various. I wouldn't.
I was pretty well checked out bythen.
Gotcha. OK.
Yeah. You know what I mean?
Man, that was miserable. That was a miserable time.
Yeah, yeah, that we've talked about that before with different
people. That had to be a brutal time to
be around Chris and her man. That's that's.

(47:37):
Oh yeah, I rode. I rode to a town with him just
one time and I got there and asked for another ride with with
some other guys because it was just fast.
She's never been a pleasant person.
She's never been a pleasant person when I was around, you
know, I just, you know, people ask you about her.
I'm just like, I mean, yeah, shewas pretty and and and all but

(47:58):
in her in her time, but she was an asshole of a person.
Pretty fast. Don't make them pretty hard,
that's for sure. She's you're invisible the whole
time. Old karma came around on her.
Sure did. Sure did.
Yeah, yeah. Not, not just in the punishment,
but the, to me, the vanity, the reversal of the vanity too.

(48:23):
I think that's, you know, that probably kills her.
Yeah. I mean it all falls apart
eventually, guys right? I mean that's just how it is.
No kidding. I I mean it was there times that
you tried to talk to Chris and say like, hey, dude, like there
was no talking to him. I'm sure, right?
He, he. Well, I did try to talk to him.

(48:44):
Yeah, I did try to talk to him. I tried to talk to her, too.
Yeah. And love and eyes never seen.
Yeah, yeah. She just couldn't, couldn't,
couldn't hear it, couldn't see it.
So. And it's obvious, you know, by
the way she LED her life outsideafter wrestling, you know, she
just, she thought it was never going to end.

(49:05):
Yeah, well, man, that's right, man.
Chris, tell us something funny about Chris.
Man, tell us a funny story abouthanging out with Chris.
I and I know you got something about Gigolo Jimmy I'm sure and
some some good ones with Stan, but I'd like to hear a story
about Chris. Well, Chris, Chris loved the
businessman. I mean, he, he really did.

(49:28):
He loved and disrespected business.
He's been wrestling since he wasa kid too.
You know, I had the kids wrestling organization, but I
was supposed to work with him inthe ECW Arena and he picked me
up. I met him somewhere, him and
Bubba Ray and we were going to the arena and Paul Heyman called
him and he was giving him the finish for the match.

(49:50):
And so he didn't want to tell methat he Paul wanted him to go
over. Well, I went I'm going to ECW
Arena to put him over anyway. I already had that in my mind.
Nobody had to tell me that, you know what I mean?
You know, it made no sense for me to go to ECW and beat Chris,
right? So he didn't want to tell me but
but eventually he didn't. I said sure, what you finish and

(50:12):
powerbomb off the top rope. And I said OK.
And then as soon as I said that,I said, wait a minute, wait a
minute. What?
Powerbomb off the top rope? So we don't have to do that,
man. We do like a schoolboy or
something. I said no, hell no.
How's the how's the ring to bumpin?
He says it's good bumping ring. I said no, we'll do it anyway.
We'll do the powerbomb off the top rope.
And we did. He was, he was like, he didn't

(50:32):
know how to tell me he was goingover that night.
And I thought, shit man, it's cool.
Yeah. That's what I can't do, you
know, He just, he just, he was very, very.
That's what we live for, man. And, you know, I've been like
that, too. We, that's all you you
concentrate on is wrestling. Wrestling.
Wrestling, yeah. Yeah.

(50:55):

(51:38):
about this before, but I don't know how to get your take on it.
The Memphis culture was so different and actually toxic in
a way, looking back, because that type of person was almost
looked down upon in, in my opinion, if you talked about
wrestling outside of the building, you were a mark, you

(52:00):
know, or, or you know, God, can we talk about something besides
wrestling that type of shit? Don't no, you know, didn't want
to talk about it in a car, you know, wait till we get to the
building type shit. And and then I go other places
and it's really opposite of that.
And, and people, and you know, you come back from the ring in
Memphis and how many people go, God, that was a fucking
abortion, no matter how, no matter how good your match was.

(52:22):
But then you go other places and, you know, you get a
standing ovation and stuff like that.
Do you agree with me on that? Yeah, I agree.
It just, it was a different culture.
It really, it was, you know, it was still a carryover from the
generation before and where it was a big man's sport and big
man's deal and, and it was all about size, size, size.

(52:43):
Bigger is better. And a lot of those guys weren't
ready to give up their spots. If you remember in the 80s and
even sometimes in the 90s, you had guys that were hanging
around a little too long. But it was, it was toxic at at
times, especially for a young guy coming in and didn't really
have any connections or anything.
They, they want to make sure youstayed where you were and

(53:05):
nobody's going to climb. And then you would, you did go,
you had other veterans who, who would help you and want to help
see, see you succeed and help you in the ring and help you
outside the ring too. But not everybody would.
Yeah, they're a whole bunch of assholes, man.
But I think it's changed for thebetter.
And I, I still think no matter what, in that environment,

(53:27):
you're going to have competitionand it could turn toxic, usually
does, because you have a rivalryand you're all wanting the same
thing. You know, I'm watching this John
Cena, Cody Rhodes angle going on.
I think it's great. You know, Cena's saying all the
stuff that people are really thinking.
And John knows that, Cody knows that.

(53:49):
And they're going out there and they're pulling this off and
people are intrigued by it. They're they're, I don't want to
say amazed, but with the word I'm looking for, they're
enthralled by what's going on. And I think it's, it's probably
it's, it's one of the best things that got going on today.
I watched a little raw last night when I got in and I just,

(54:11):
I clicked on with the Paul Heyman Seth Rollins promo.
Now it's done very well. Yeah, that was good.
I tell you what, who I really think is good man and they're
doing good stuff with his Gunther.
The whole deal where he, you know, tied the brother up and
got the color on the other kid and all that.

(54:32):
I mean that to me, that was old school good heat right there.
And and I think he's a good worker.
And I'm really hoping that they that if, let me ask you, if you
were booking WrestleMania, wouldyou put Jay over Gunther and put
the title on him, or would you keep Gunther?
Yeah, no, I'll put Jay, give himthe title.
Really, I think he needs it. I think he's over enough.

(54:55):
And you know, he's selling merch.
I don't think he needs it. And I think you could keep
Gunther. It's a really strong fucking
hill if you if you give him another win at WrestleMania.
But but when? Then then who do you drop the
title to? I don't know.
I. Just don't think it should be
Jay. I'm not sold on him 100%.
I know he's over. I get the the reaction from the

(55:16):
people, I get it. I understand all that.
But I just don't see him as being a world champion.
But you know what do I? Well, that's that's, that's.
Well, there you go. None of us know for sure until
it happens. But I mean, I think it's one of
those things where it's all perception and you know, Cody
had to win the title at least, you know, to finish this story

(55:40):
or at least to to continue the story, tell another chapter.
I think Jay also main event Jay USO has to finish it up with
something at WrestleMania. Yeah.
Hell, I could be wrong too, I don't know.
Yeah. Who knows we we'll find out
about a week. I mean, is Cena, is Cena going
to beat Cody? You think, is he going to win

(56:01):
that or is he, is Cody going to maintain?
Steve, once again, I think putting the title on scene is a
great idea. You know what I mean?
Finish out his retirement as a champion and have people just
loathe the hate him because theywant to see somebody beat his
ass. Yeah, so then then I don't see

(56:24):
Gunther going over if Cena goes over.
I you know, in my opinion, I they always like to send him
home happy. And the USO thing, the Jay USO
reminds me so much of when Daniel Bryan was going to win
it, you know, and, and beat Batista.
It was so, you know, it was likea Cindamo mapping moment And and
I think that's probably and I mean, I don't want to disagree

(56:45):
with you, Wolf, but I I do kind of think they'll probably put it
on Jay because what's. Not saying that they won't, I'm
just saying if it if it were me,and that's neither here nor
there, but sure. I just would like to see Gunther
maintain his steam. Man, I just, yeah, I hate it
when I don't know. I just hate when they killed the
dragon sometimes man. Yeah.

(57:05):
I get well, the way they do it. I think they'll do it with the
dragon still smoking. Yeah.
We'll see. We shall see.
What's going to go on with the trio then?
Wait, since we're talking WrestleMania, why not?
Let's just guess some stuff here.
Why, what's what do you think's going to happen with the the,
the Paul Heyman in the corner? What would you how would you

(57:25):
book that, Tom? See that that that's that's
intriguing as hell to me becauseI mean, you got three strong
personalities there. And yeah, I don't know.
I don't know. I mean, do you have Seth turn on
or Paul Heyman turn on Roman andPunk?

(57:45):
He said last night he would never do it.
But Seth says now you owe me a favor.
So I mean, do you have Paul Heyman turn on those guys and
Seth comes away victorious? I don't know.
Yeah, yeah. Interesting and I and I said I
haven't seen that part yet so I'll have to watch that.
I was actually watching before we got on here talking but

(58:06):
hadn't got too far into it. What do you think about the
girls? The three-way?
I haven't really been following that one.
I mean, I catch, I catch you allwhen I can.
Like I said, when I come home and it's still on, you know, I
know, I know, I'm started from the beginning with Netflix, but
I just haven't had a chance to sit down and watch and catch up
on everything. I just, I couldn't believe that

(58:27):
they actually took it off, took the belt off Rhea like that.
I didn't expect that on that fewweeks ago.
I guess it was, but I'm just, I'm biased.
I'm a mark for her. I hope she wins.
Yeah. He's he's got a, a very bad ass
goth fetish, yeah. I got you.

(58:48):
I got you. Oh man, OK, so I got I got
another one here, Tom. So I who were some up and coming
that you, I guess in your some of your recent classes, who were
some up and comers that you really see a lot in for for, you
know, maybe the next generation of of wrestling stars?

(59:09):
Who are some of your up and coming stars that you have that
you've seen? I don't.
Know if I have any? I don't know if I have any up
and coming stars right now. I mean, they're all out on the
independent scene doing what they can do.
But it's, it's really tough, man, because they're, they're
recruiting. Are you talking about just just
stars in general? No, Yeah, just in general, like

(59:31):
who do you see something in thatyou've got, you know, some
recent touch on? Who?
And I hate to put you on that. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. That that really is to think
about that who The Who the next upcoming stars are like not just
WWE, but just talking about in general.
Yeah. Or is there anybody that you've

(59:51):
recently trained with that you know you see something in that
you're hopeful for that maybe oryou, you just know that there's
a process and it doesn't matter until it happens?
Well, I'll be honest with you. This is my straight honest
answer. Not that I've been lying to you
all this time. I mean, but but I mean, you
know, it takes a lot to really catch somebody's eye as as being

(01:00:15):
the next star. You can see somebody's going out
there and having some good matches and, and be mediocre and
be be OK. But I haven't seen anybody
that's really shine through lately.
Well, maybe let me think here because we'll go to N.W.A.
Silas Mason. Yeah, he's a guy.
Who you you want Silas? Oh yeah, I'm a fan of him.

(01:00:35):
Yeah, I think he's got some upside for.
Sure. I think he's he's he's got some
stark qualities about him. Carson Drake is another guy with
N.W.A. OK, Yeah, I know who that is.
Yeah. Yeah, young kid, you know, got
potential. Damn.
Yeah. It's racking my brain trying to

(01:00:56):
think. Well, we didn't mean to put you
on the spot. Yeah, that's a good one.
No, you good. I should have AI should have it
on top of my head. I think Silas is a great, you
know, answer though, because I, I definitely see high, high
potential in him. I, I think it's just any day now
that he'll be doing something else.
And I love that he speaks with asouthern accent.

(01:01:18):
I mean, he's a romping, stompingbuck snorting, you know, he's
just, he just seems like the real deal, you know what I mean?
Like he he seems like. He is, yeah, he is a real deal.
Yeah, yeah. And I I.
Think that he is, that he is that guy.
Wolfie, You would love to be around him.

(01:01:38):
Oh yeah, we got to get him on the show, you know?
Carrie said. We had an open invite.
We'd like to get in touch with Carrie on that then, unless
Tom's got contact with him. I.
Don't know. I'm sure Tom can help us out.
We'll work that out off the air.But one thing we got to talk
about is this happy hour that you've got coming up at
Captain's Corner, Right, Right. Wolfie we got to talk to.
Yes. We do have to talk to him about

(01:01:59):
that. It's being held in parts
unknown. Yeah, but it's, it's, it's on
the Internet, man, on the Internet.
Virtual side. Yeah, that wide that's Captains
Corner Happy Hour would talk to Tom Pritchard live Friday, April
25th, 2025. So that's coming up very soon.

(01:02:22):
What do you know what you I meansigning some pictures, you got
some, some cool memorabilia you're going to sign for him.
Yeah, Nick usually has some goodstuff waiting for me to sign.
So yeah, that's that's on the 25th.
I'm looking forward to it. So if you've got any Doctor Tom
memorabilia out there and you want to get it signed, talk to
Captain's Corner Nick, we can get you in touch with him.

(01:02:43):
That's no problem. Or go to any of his page.
Tom, I got to ask why you are not on a Tribute to Smoky
Mountain show in Elizabethton, TN.
That's your Nick of the Woods onMay the 10th.
Tell him it's Elizabeth. I am there and so is The Dirty
white boy, so is Mustafa Jimmy. Golden Rock'n'roll Express.

(01:03:07):
I do believe that Is the Smoky Mountain Guys the list.
Why is Doctor Tom not on this show?
What day was that now? May the 10th that's coming up,
that is coming up in a. Little, I think, yeah, yeah,
yeah. I think that was because I had
class or I had something going on.
I got to look at my book. I got a conflict of interest.

(01:03:28):
That's what it was. A conflict of interest in
Teresante. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I had another book in. I think I'm booked somewhere.
Else fails. Yeah, I was going to say I
would, I would. I would have been good, yeah.
Love to see you too. Yeah.
I miss you, man. I miss you.

(01:03:49):
But maybe down the line somewhere we'll bump into each
other again. And I want to say thank you
again for coming on and talking with us for a little bit here
and taking time out of your janitorial duties to talk to us.
Absolutely. Well, thanks for having me
again. Yeah, so I always love talking
to you, Whoopi. Yes, Sir.

(01:04:10):
You too, man. Yeah.
So everybody check out Captain'sCorner and TuneIn next week.
Actually, we're going to take a break and we're going to come
back with ass Wolfie D anything.Thank you, Doctor Tom.
We'll be right back. Thanks, Tom.
Thank you, Sir. Close the whole show, all right,
buddy? Well.
Thank you, Tom. Tell Glenn I said hello and

(01:04:33):
everybody, you got it. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to
Give Me Back My Pro wrestling. The podcast that's based on the
old school but can still help you find the good stuff from
today. Jimmy St. and the Plastic Sheet
Jared are the undisputed tag team Champions of the Wrestling

(01:04:55):
Podcast. World.
From thought provoking topics, the superstar interviews to
action figure expertise, this team does it all and all they
ask is give me back my pro wrestling.
Every other Thursday, wherever you listen to podcasts.

(01:05:39):
All right, we are. Back.
With ask wolfie D anything and Wolfie Wolfie Wolfie Doctor Tom
is always a pleasure man, right?Come on.
Always, always enjoy talking to Tom.
Makes me miss him man Seriously,I like I wish I still lived in
Knoxville. Yeah, what a class act that guy
is. I mean, he's just, I don't know,
you can. I mean, I just think of him if

(01:06:01):
through my childhood kind of in the same level as like dirty
white boy, you know, just a villain of my childhood, man.
Love that guy. So yeah, and we definitely make
sure you sign up it make sure you're there for that virtual
signing for the Captain's Cornerhappy hour with Doctor Tom.
That is April 25th. Do not miss that.

(01:06:22):
I know Nick will be glad to hearfrom y'all and make sure you
tell him that Wolfie D sent you.But today we got some ask Wolfie
here and the very first one, well this one doesn't count
because this one is actually just a.
You sure about that Wolfie? Are you sure about that?
This one is from John Lewis and he is simply asking big business

(01:06:44):
Brown. Wolfie, you sure about that?
Yeah, we're not. We're not sure about that.
I guess we found out otherwise, didn't we?
I told you, Hey, if I can forgetwrestling Dusty Rose, I can
forget being managed by Big Business Brown.
I promise. No disrespect to either one of
them. No, no, yeah, no, I don't think

(01:07:06):
that was. I don't know if that was a one
and done or if that was. I do not remember that.
But I saw with my own two eyes in it, it definitely.
Happened. Yeah.
Well, hey, I mean, thanks, John, for, you know, doubling down on
that brother. Appreciate that.
But we actually do have a real question, actual very first one
on this ask. Wolfie is from JP, the vanilla

(01:07:28):
gorilla on X and he asks do you guys think the old school
southern brawl style match couldever come back to the main event
scene? Heavy focus on punches and
believable selling. To me, it's the style that has
stood the test of time the longest.
Well, I think, you know, I've talked about this, you know,

(01:07:51):
here pretty recently that I think WWE has kind of gone back
to a lot of old school stuff. If you look at the the match,
the ladder match with Cody and KO, Kevin Owens, there was a lot
of punching, kicking. Do you know fight involved in
that? I mean, yeah, there was some
moves here and there, but I think that was along the lines

(01:08:12):
of what he's saying. So definitely, yeah, man,
anything you could do anything if you do it right.
It's just about making it believable, make it make sense.
That's that's my opinion. Yeah, yeah, I agree.
You know, if I were a EWI would drop in elements of that right
now just to test it out. What do you, what do you got to
lose? You know what I'm saying?
I, I guess I, I'm starting to understand this argument of, you

(01:08:35):
know, everybody's got a different favorite flavor or
whatever, but I've just always felt like your card needs to
have a little bit of everything instead of your promotion having
just one thing. Basically me.
That's what that's what they're about, you know, exactly.
And, and, and then again, not really knocking anybody, just I

(01:08:56):
don't know. And, and I mean, their
attendance and their numbers andstuff kind of proves that we're
right about that, you know, I mean, right.
So, and like I say, I hate saying that kind of stuff
because, you know, I got friendsthat work there, but it's just,
I don't know, man. I don't know.
Yeah, yeah. No, I mean that, hey, I think
you said it the way it should besaid.

(01:09:17):
So that's all we can say about that.
But yeah, definitely thank you for that question.
We definitely appreciate that. JPI think Southern Wrestling
could, you know, do it all over again and it would be great.
So. But I mean, that's just me,
right? But whatever.
OK, so the next one is from Mac A Ronin on Instagram and he
says, hey guys, love the show. I really enjoy getting to hear

(01:09:40):
some of the interviews that you just can't get anywhere else.
So thanks to both of you. That being said, I have a
question for Ask Wolfie. We all know Wolfie trained many
different wrestlers over the years.
What would you consider the hardest part of helping guys
break into the business and whatwere the parts you enjoyed the
most? Thanks again.

(01:10:01):
Well, I think you enjoy seeing someone, you know, debut and do
good like Charles Alexander, thestand out that I that I trained
in Nashville there he was so good, man.
He was so good and some things got in the way for him.
But just, you know, being able to, to watch him in his first

(01:10:24):
match and the crowd react to himand, and all that.
And yeah, that's a good feeling man.
Cuz, you know, he learned all this from me and he's, he's done
well with it. I mean, he also had to have his,
his own athletic ability, obviously and could do stuff
that I could never do. But yeah, the the hardest part
though, is like I was saying, men training people can be

(01:10:47):
frustrating, especially when, you know, they're not going to
quite get it, you know, and or they keep screwing up the same
thing because in my, you know, train, I got stuff just like
that, just like that. Things were not, didn't come
hard for me. And yeah, so to have the
patience to go, OK, this person is, is not getting it as quickly

(01:11:09):
as I did frustrates me a little bit.
But I, you know, that's just being, I don't know, that's kind
of being a Dick, but it, you know, I, I did enjoy doing that
man, training people. And, you know, I feel like I was
a, a good teacher. I was, you know, someone that
could explain it to make you understand it, you know, and,

(01:11:30):
and teaching the, I mean, one ofthe hardest things to teach is
the psychology of the business. And being able to explain that
is a gift in itself. No doubt.
Seriously. And, and I always, Another thing
is I would always like show themmyself.
So I ended up taking a lot of bumps.
It's where a lot of guys won't get out there and bump when

(01:11:51):
they're training you. I would, because I would say
this is what it is supposed to look like.
You do this like I just did it, you know, so.
Yeah, and then you don't have mybrain, so you can't necessarily
do that. But, you know, it's in in
theory, you think that should beable to happen.
And I understand that because I yeah, you know, I anyway.

(01:12:13):
Well, thank you for that answer,Wolfie, and thank you for that
question. That was a good one.
We definitely appreciate it. The last one for Ask Wolfie
today is from Marty Confetti andhis He's the famous I broke
Wahoo's egg on X and he says what is the worst payoff Wolfie
ever got in wrestling? I mean, I know early on I've

(01:12:41):
probably been paid 15 bucks or something like that.
Wasn't really happy about that. But what are you going to do at
that point? But I mean, I've been stiffed on
a couple of occasions. I know I told you the story
where Mitch Ryder, Mitch Bell tried to stiff me.
Yeah. And I followed him to his house.
Yeah. So that's just like I said, I

(01:13:05):
when I got in, man. You know, we hear guys driving
all these miles to these shows and getting paid hardly nothing
because they're paying their dues.
But you don't literally pay yourdues.
You still got to try to make a little money, man.
You know, seriously, the way I was taught, you know, and I know
again, the game has changed a lot.
There's more people in it. There's more people that are

(01:13:27):
willing to go to a show that youwould not want to go because you
weren't getting paid enough or whatever.
But I mean, why are you going tosit there and, you know, go
broke over it? I just don't, I don't get that
part of it. You got to make something.
Yeah, and that, you know, dude, that's the thing about
podcasting, that's the thing about wrestling.
There are those that that want to make a career of it, and

(01:13:50):
there are those that don't ever want to make a career of it.
And there I can see the frustration in both, you know,
like, you know, hey man, this guy's not taking it serious
enough. He's a 40 Miller podcaster, you
know what I'm saying? So in wrestling, it turns around
and I can totally see that because there is viable money in

(01:14:10):
wrestling and there's viable, you know, ways to make a living.
But man. And you got it with some of
these promoters and stuff that, you know, they got a good real
job. So they're they'll they'll spend
money on a wrestling show and don't really care whether it
loses or not, you know, Right. That's another part of it.
It's just like, this is insanityto me.

(01:14:30):
Why would you not want to make money?
Yeah, more, more of it. I mean, it's just like you're
running a weekly party, you know?
Yeah, just to hang with your buddies is like a pickup game of
basketball or something, you know, you just want your buddies
or, or, or hire some, some famous guys to come in and hang
out with you. You know, it's just dumb.

(01:14:51):
Yeah, yeah, man. Yeah, that makes sense, man.
Yeah, Well, that is actually allwe got for today, Wolfie D, as
far as the questions go. So thank you for that.
And thank you, Doctor Tom. And thank you, Captain Nick Man.
Yeah, and coming up this weekend, I hope everybody enjoys
WrestleMania. I'll be watching.

(01:15:11):
