nothing will be held back. Thanks again for tuning in.
Here he is, Wolfie D. Welcome, welcome, welcome once
again to live and in color with Wolfie D and my man Jimmy across
the street. Guess what is going on in my
front yard? Hazard what?
Wear a hard hat. Bro, they, they, they knocked on
(00:43):
my door earlier and the dude's like, hey, I thought he was
supposed to ask me for a cigarette.
I swear to God. He goes, hey, do you smoke?
I'm like, no, he goes, oh, good.He goes, don't light anything,
don't start your car. We just hit a gas line.
I'm like, oh, fuck. And I'm thinking, OK, so I
survived a heart attack, a rollover ejection car crash, but
(01:05):
I'm going to get blown up in my house and the way I'm going,
good Lord. But yeah, they, they're digging
all this sewer pipes to put for a new development up the still
here. So my front yard is tore up,
man. I mean, they're digging like 10
foot deep. We got two track hoes out here,
man, man. But yeah, they hit a gas line.
You could hear it, you could smell it.
(01:26):
And I was like, son of a bitch. And then I I called Michelle and
I said, hey, just letting you know, I might walk up to the
gym, get out of the house because they just hit a gas
line. She goes, you're gonna leave the
cats there. You don't care about me.
She's worried about the cats. I was like, you never right?
I am. I can't carry this one, bitches.
(01:47):
Oh my God. Funny man.
Yeah, you gotta love a pet owner, man.
Yeah. So what?
What else is going on? You gonna blow up anytime soon?
I hope not, man. Yeah.
I mean, I hope this podcast blows up anytime now, but that'd
be great. Yeah.
How we make that happen. No, But I mean, I'm trying to
(02:08):
think, man, like nothing really. You know, we've we've kind of
had a great run of shows with Captain's Corner, man, you know?
And I know the the Portland showis coming soon, that that'll be
coming to an end. It'll kind of be sad this little
run. Yeah.
You know, we've had a lot of funwith his guests and, you know,
getting to talk to all these interesting people, man.
(02:28):
That's the one thing that is, islike you've said to many guests
before, I love their interestingstories.
And I mean, you know, dude, Lance and and Jeff Farmer and I
mean, Lynn Denton was hilarious.Nord was a nut.
I mean man, I hope you all have enjoyed our partnership with
Captain's Corner as much as we have for.
Sure, no doubt, man. And yeah, so coming up today,
(02:53):
another guest from the Portland area, but also who I met but way
back in the day as the principal, CW Bergstrom.
Yeah, and dude, I'm just saying this.
I know it probably wasn't the right timing and stuff, but APG
13, Melvin Penrod and the principal feud would is a no
(03:13):
brainer. So I yeah, hadn't been the
timing right. So.
Yeah, absolutely. Because, you know, we were just
undercard heels at that point. And they were heels too, I
believe, weren't they? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So yeah, nobody saw the potential at that point in time.
I don't guess. Yeah, but you know, 2 punk thugs
from the hood from the other side of the tracks versus the
(03:34):
principal and his star pupil. Bro, come on.
Yeah. And hey, in in real life, I
mean, me and Jamie spent a lot of time in the principal's
office, so it would only be natural.
It's like somebody said something the other day and I
said, shit, what are you talkingabout?
I said ISS was my homeroom. That one, I know that one
(03:57):
myself. So it's.
School suspension. I got the best homework done in
there, man. Ever.
Oh yeah, you know, didn't have to entertain the whole class.
Normally I would be entertainingeverybody with my quips and
jokes and then I get put in ISS and I get to do my homework,
which was actually not a bad thing for me so.
Our our ISS teacher, I cannot remember his name, but we were
(04:20):
me and my buddy, not in Jamie, but me and my buddy were in
there so much. And then my, my buddy Stewart,
he can draw like, you know, on some things better than me.
Yeah. He's really good at portraits
and things like that. But we, we, we're in there so
much like most people hated the teacher that was that branded or
whatever. But we would make him laugh.
(04:40):
We'd draw cartoons of him and shit like that.
We'd make him laugh. But he always used to when you
came to ISS for your first time or you know your first day of
how many everydays you had, he'dwrite up on the board.
His word was incorrigible. You have to write.
I will not be incorrigible. I guess like 100 times or
(05:00):
something. The old write offs.
Man, Yeah, yeah, God, yeah. It's like the Bart Simpson
writing on the chalkboard there.Yeah.
For sure. Yeah, Well, well anyway, let's
let's get the principal on the phone, man.
Let's do it. All right, We will be right back

Wolfie D Today I've got a, I'm, I'm going to say an old
acquaintance, man, because I didn't get to travel with him
too much and, and hang with him too much, but somebody I'd know
from Memphis past, the days of Memphis past, man.
Let's welcome CW Bergstrom to the show.
(06:25):
What's going on? Man, I'm telling you, Memphis is
such a a sweet spot in my life. It was, you know, it was so much
fun. Yeah, yeah.
What's fun? But this was like 6 days a week.
It's real fun, ain't it? Well, you know what?
It's it's something that you know as well as I do.
You get addicted to it. Yeah, yeah, I loved it.
(06:48):
I was a great man. I mean, I mean, here in Portland
we did the same thing, you know, five to seven days a week.
See, I didn't know. I didn't know, honestly, I guess
at the time. And it's like I tell Jimmy
sometimes, you know, I think back on my career and like,
especially those days, I was just getting a break in Memphis
and blah, blah, blah. And I'm so focused on me and
(07:10):
what I'm doing, I'm not paying attention to the people I'm
around and what their history inthe business really was, you
know, So I kind of have learned just by researching you.
I didn't. I didn't know you had so much
time in Portland, man. Oh, yeah.
I mean it, it was, I mean, it didn't really matter where I
was. It's just, I just the life that
(07:31):
we LED was just, I mean, it was,it was like, you know, the old
saying is if you never work a day in your life, it's not like
a job. Absolutely.
Man, for me, I loved it. I.
Love it. I agree 100% man.
So and when you were here, you were like the principal gimmick
and then you had the the little nerd student Melvin Penrod.
(07:52):
Whatever happened to? Melvin Little, Melvin Little
Melvin. Yeah.
I, I, I don't know. You know, I'm really sad that I
lost contact with him because hewas a good, he was a good dude.
Well, yeah, I didn't hang aroundhim that much, but yeah, he
seemed like it, man. And I, I mean, I've always been
into, you know, silly gimmicks and shit like that.
(08:14):
And so I I liked y'all's combination there.
Yeah, it was. I totally enjoyed it.
But, and unfortunately for me, Iwas, you know, hadn't been in
the business that long, you know, and I'd really, I mean,
it's, it's, it's like we all, I mean, we all think this way.
If you could go back, you know you have have the experiences
(08:35):
you have now and apply it to them, you'd be a superstar.
Oh, for sure, for sure, absolutely, man.
And then not made some of the mistakes, you know, that's
that's the one I focus on. I'm like man if I just would
have did this instead of that. I just would have kept my mouth
shut one time. You.
Know. Yeah, yeah.
(08:56):
But it sneaks out. What do you?
Yeah. Yeah, it's like I always say,
man, I and like you said too, but I just had, I actually put
out a, and this has been years ago, made a little VHS tape of
like me and Jamie's greatest matches.
And the title of the, of the VHStape was we were just having
fun. And that's, that's the, the, I
mean, we thought it would never end.
(09:18):
And it was fun in the ring. It was fun outside the ring and
we were just having a blast, youknow?
Yeah. Oh yeah, in a nutshell, exactly.
It did end a little bit. Every territory you went to it.
It was like, oh man, I I don't want to go.
You know I. Really did, but I found out that
the next one is it is it? I'm not saying it was a little
(09:41):
bit better, but it was it, you grow, you know, and it's like,
it's, it's like you're thankful for the previous, you know, So,
yeah. And I think you, you learn
different stuff. For us it was like, OK and
everything, you know, Memphis was our start.
I mean, besides the independent stuff.
(10:01):
But we go to Mexico, we took a little bit of Memphis and
sprinkle it in with their shit and it worked, you know, same
with Puerto Rico, same with ECW.I, I know I worked ECW and I
never even got hit with a chair.People ask me that all the time.
How was ECW? It was like, it was fucking
great. I just fucking wrestled and did
spots and put some Memphis in there and they loved it, you
(10:23):
know? So yeah, man, it's like you
learn a little bit and from eachfrom each place, you know?
Well, you know, if if you bring out just a little bit something
different, then you're going to stand out anyway.
Yeah, for sure. You know, if you don't want to
be like everybody else, exactly what they're seeing, then you're
just going to blend in. Yeah.
How old were you when you got into the business?
(10:44):
Oh, I think I was like, God, letme think.
I think it was like. 28 OK, so Imean a little bit late than
most, yes, you know, because I was thinking.
That I was around it. Yeah, I was.
I was. Thinking it on the ground.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I was around it.
I mean, I was I remember going to, you know, you know, God rest
(11:06):
his soul, Roddy Piper and killerTim Brooks, you know, with with
Matt Bourne, you know, in the apartment in Tigard and, you
know, and drinking the next day in, you know, it was just, you
know, and that that was like my introduction, you know, so I was
(11:27):
around it for years and I had totalk my leg off to tough Tony,
Matt's dad even considered, you know, what do you think?
Oh, no, I don't want you to do it.
I don't want you to do it. And I'm thinking, no, I won't do
it, you know, and it took me years to convince him.
And then finally, finally it happened.
So. So what was there was because
you're a big dude and stuff. What was your like athletic
(11:49):
background, say like high schooland all that kind of stuff?
Oh God, at high school I was like basketball, football,
track, and then after basketballpractice, I go down and wrestle
with Matt, you know? Why did it take them so long to
want you in if you were to, you know, athletic and shit?
Why? Why?
Would they? I I knew tough Tony my whole
(12:11):
life. You know, me and Matt went to
school forever together and I was just, I think he was worried
about, he was just trying to protect me like a dad.
I got you. You know what I'm saying?
Yeah. And that's the way.
Well, if if I don't think it's really that dark.
Dark. I mean there.
Are there's there's some. You know, you know, not, you
(12:34):
know, clear shots there. But I'm, I'm saying it's, it's
like, yeah, he, he was probably thinking the worst for me and he
didn't want that for me, you know, but but he was very
protective of me and that, but you know, Matt, good luck with
Matt. You know what I'm saying?
You know, talk about God, rest his soul.
He you couldn't protect him if you had to.
(12:57):
Yeah, yeah. You know.
That just wasn't there. I mean, I remember.
People made one road trip with him.
It was a hell of a long one, butI made just me and him going
back into Memphis from somewhereout in Missouri or something
like that for a, for a group, right.
But it was just right before he passed, too.
But yeah, it's cool to get to know.
Yeah, it was late. What year?
(13:20):
What year was that he passed away?
Was it about what, 1415? Something like that. 7-8 years
ago, yeah. OK, yeah, so it was right.
I knew it was right near the endbecause I remember when he
passed, I was like, Dang, I justgot the ride with him and meet
him and stuff, you know? But yeah.
But you know, Matt, Matt had to throttle down no matter whether
he was working or having fun. There's no medium speed there.
(13:42):
There was no downtime. I mean, the guy with amazing, I
don't even know how we live thatlong, you know?
Right, right. But yeah.
I mean, we're that, that's who Ihooked up with.
That's who I went down WCW, you know, with Lynn Denton, and I
trained with him and it was justlike, man, this, this is a 24/7
(14:06):
gig. Yeah, yeah.
You know, with Matt, it was likeit never stopped.
It was like, you look forward tothe bed, you know what I'm
saying? Right, right.
But it was fun. It was his way from.
So let's go back to Memphis for a minute too.
So obviously it wasn't me. Who, who are you hanging with in
Memphis? Who is you traveling with
(14:27):
because I don't remember. Oh God, it was Scotty the body.
Oh yeah, he was there, yeah. Yeah, and then Owen Hart.
Yeah. Gangrel.
Vampire warrior, yeah. Yeah, Bride Christopher.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, hung out with Lawler a
lot. Did you really surprise?
Yeah, yeah, he showed me his allhis coke collection and his
(14:51):
house and. Yeah, I hate.
Him I went with. Just anybody over there?
I I was surprised. It really was.
Yeah, because I actually work with him too.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
And you know, you know him. He he speaks his mind all the
time. Right.
Was it good feedback or was it bad feedback?
(15:14):
It was fun, but he was going like God damn, you know, I heard
God damn a lot you. Know you beat him to death or
just not getting what he was. No, no, no.
Just, you know, sometimes. Well, I was the kind of guy I'd
get into it, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
(15:35):
And I and I respected guys like, well, talk about Memphis.
Unlike the Moon Dogs, you know? And they love that stuff, man.
They, they and I loved it too, man.
There was no, like, plastic garbage cans.
We thought about bringing a plastic garbage can into a
match. Is that supposed to hurt?
You know what I'm saying? Metal garbage can boards, I
(15:57):
mean, and that was like the one of the biggest problems I ever
had was they'd look at me and go, hey, thank you.
We had fun. We like working with you.
I felt like a little protected, you know?
Yeah, man. Yeah, yeah, man.
But yeah, they were fun. How many Moon Dog battle Royals
were you in? Oh, gosh, I was in a lot.
(16:20):
Not so much at first, but once they, you know, like you.
Yeah, you're going to be there. Yeah, that was a trick.
You know you give and you get. Yeah, the only part about those
that was bad was those was thoseboards they bring in.
Everything else was fine. It was just those damn boards.
The two by fours. You didn't like the two by
(16:40):
fours? Well, were they 2?
I don't think they were two by fours.
I think they were like 1 by 4, two by 6 or some shit.
But it it didn't break easy. I mean, I mean, either way it's
still a nugget on your head. Oh yeah, You know, you're going
to have Nuggets. I mean, you can't even worry
about that. You know, like you said, you got
(17:00):
to have fun. Yeah, just go with it, right?
If you're having fun, you don't really care.
Me, Jimmy, join the conversation.
All right, I'll join in for sure.
So you know, you guys have kind of been all over the place.
I don't really know where to start or stop.
So what I'll do then is I wantedto one of the things that I read
about you was that you, you had a good little run with Jeff
(17:21):
Gaylord and I would love your, your stories about working Jeff.
You know, Jeff was, I mean, I, Idon't mean anything mean or
anything, but he was kind of a, he was, had tunnel vision, he
had television. And the problem I had with him
the most is that he would copy what I would do.
(17:42):
You know what? I'm saying, and I know there's
some psychological thing there, but I think he took it too far
because you can't do exactly what I did to you, you know what
I'm saying? And that was the only
frustrating part because then I had to start thinking, gosh,
what can I do that he won't do? So you what you're saying is he
would basically hit you move formove like he would take?
(18:04):
Yeah. Wow.
It would be like, oh, here we go.
I mean, it was like I had a match with him and it was just
like, I swear to God, it was nothing but suplexes.
Everything was a suplex. Dude, I could say that because
Jeff was like Jeff, He had so much potential, you know what
I'm saying? But he had to have somebody that
(18:25):
could lead him. And even then, it was still a
task. Very much a task.
And and it's not so much leadinglistening, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was, yeah, full time.
He was totally deaf, you know, Idon't know if it was just
selective hearing or, you know, whatever you want to call it,
but it was like, he did enjoy it.
(18:46):
He had to have because he did itfor so long.
And he did the same thing. But I didn't mind working with
him because I like somebody my size, you know, and back then my
build, So it was, it was I didn't have to worry about
hurting him. Right, right, right.
Do you know, you know what happened to him, right?
You know the the final story of Jeff, right?
(19:07):
No. So I don't remember what year it
was, but he got, he went to prison for robbing a bank.
He got what? Yeah, Yeah.
He got released from prison, robbed another bank, went back
to prison. And I want to say that he was
actually up somewhere. I don't, I don't.
Somebody would have to tell you they knew more about it than me,
(19:28):
or we'd have to look it up or something.
But I mean, this is facts. From what I'm telling you, he
was somewhere, I think he was inprison around Portland possibly.
And then he got out for the second time and he was doing all
right. He was actually doing some
appearances and autographs on and then he just passed away.
(19:48):
What was that, Jimmy? Probably a couple of years ago.
Like 2000. Oh man, Like yeah, some 19 or
something. So he spent, he spent a long
time in prison and then finally gets out and he passed away,
man. And he died from.
It was he was. He was, I think he was, he was
without a home. He was the the unhoused,
(20:09):
whatever they want to call that these days.
And I think he passed away sitting on a bench waiting for
the bus, I think, or something like that sounds that.
Sounds familiar? Yeah, something crazy like that.
But yeah, man. I mean, there wasn't nothing he
wouldn't do. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know, he didn't have his ownidentity.
(20:31):
He had no identity on his own. None.
And he was just so thirsty to use somebody elses, you know?
And if it worked, boy, he used it, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, that's. He's kind of like, and I'm not
speaking ill of dead. I feel like I can say this
because I know him and knew him well enough, but he was like the
(20:52):
big, big, big oversized puppy that was just, you know, all
over the place and kind of he. Tongue hanging out all the time.
Yeah, and, and he was sort of anairhead in a way, man.
Well, it, it was like that old cartoon.
It's like, which way did he go? Which way?
And you could pull and that's the way he would go.
(21:14):
He was. Watch that and it but that was
him. But I think that was, you know,
it, it was very easy to work with him.
He he was very firm. He was stiff.
But like I said, I'm I'm comfortable with that.
So it it's didn't really matter.Yeah, he punched me so hard one
time in the fucking jaw. I ain't, I ain't sitting there.
(21:36):
He punched me so hard that like my, my jaw was out of line for
about a week. And I was, I was having to chew
on one side and shit like God damn.
Bro. Yeah.
Go ahead. Again man, sorry to interrupt
your questioning. No, you're good, man.
So, OK, so this is a, we have a listener question here.
(21:59):
This is going to take you back to Portland here.
So Quintin Charisma, a good friend of mine at G MB MPW, he
asked this question. He says since you were the last
Pacific Northwest champion, did you keep the belt or did you
give it back to the Owens family?
No, I haven't. Do you?
That's awesome. Yeah, I still have it.
That's very cool. And I take it that would be
(22:20):
something that was to the convention?
Oh, yeah. Oh, I'm going to have it with
me, definitely. Jenny, you should tell the
people real quick. Give them the rundown of the
convention. Well, I mean, we've said it a
million times before, and I hopeyou're writing it down every
time. It's the Portland Wrestling Expo
with Captain's Corner Saturday, February 22nd at the Holiday Inn
Portland Airport, 8439 NortheastColumbia Court, Portland, OR.
(22:45):
You're going to see great stars such as me and Mike Miller, Top
Gun, Ricky Santana, The Grappler, Lynn Denton, Moon Dog
Moretti, John Nord and our good buddy here we've got with us
today, CW, the principal Bergstrom.
And there's actually going to bea Portland 100 panel that you're
going to have of of 100 years ofPortland and man, just cool
(23:09):
stuff. So how excited are you for that
CWI? Am so I mean, this is this is
like a like a almost like a Christmas present to me birthday
present, because this is like, man, I get to see guys I haven't
seen forever, you know, and it'sit's just I don't know.
I mean, people don't understand the brotherhood that develops,
(23:31):
you know, and it's like you said, Wolfie D we weren't around
each other much. We didn't get to work with each
other much, but it was still there, You know?
I mean, when I heard that you were part of it, I went, Oh man,
you got to be kidding, you know?Small world.
It's just, yeah, I don't, I don't think people really
understand how strong your brotherhood is.
(23:53):
Yeah, yeah. And I'm not saying it's 100%
strong good all the time becausebrotherhood can go just the, you
know, a 180 onion heartbeat. Brothers fight.
I'll. Fight.
That's the nature of the business home.
Yeah. You know you can be on top of
the world one minute and then out of a job the next.
(24:15):
Yeah, absolutely. But.
It's a job, you know, and you make it what it is, so you know,
you either give up or just keep grinding.
Yeah, true. Yeah, true.
So talk. About what does it mean?
To you to have that belt, I meanthat, yeah.
It's got some history, man, and you got it.
Yeah. Oh, I mean, I'm telling you, my
(24:36):
whole life changed once I got that bill.
All of a sudden I started traveling, you know, went to
like South Africa, you know, which was awesome, Totally
awesome. Did you go over there with Lance
then? Lance or Ricky or whoever you
want to call him. Actually, I work with Lance
there. Yeah, yeah.
We interviewed Lance 2 episodes or three episodes ago.
(24:57):
What an interesting individual he is, man, All you guys are so
like you, you know, you think, you know a wrestler and you kind
of get him figured out. And then you guys throw us
curveballs sometimes too, you know, so.
Isn't that what it's truly all about?
It is. It is.
You're right. Yeah, that what we do our whole
lives, basically. Why?
(25:18):
Right or wrong? I mean that's that's.
Our job. You're right.
You're exactly right. I mean.
Curveballs is what sells tickets, not not the mundane in
the same saying. Right, right.
Yeah, yeah. Now you know you were talking
about the title, so I guess thiswho was your favorite opponent
for that title would be one of my questions.
(25:39):
Well, it, it have to be 1 of theBruce brothers, you know,
because I, I, I took it from Ron, but believe me, Don was in
there right afterwards, you knowwhat I'm saying?
Yeah, trying to take it. Yeah, it.
Was it was memorable, Quite memorable.
But you know, those guys are great.
Those were two of the most down home guys I have ever been
(26:00):
around. Yeah.
You know they are. They're cool.
I remember one time we were working in Oregon, here in Warm
Springs Reservation, and they were having a match and for some
reason one of the people out of the audience thought they'd get
involved. Big mistake, right?
And as soon as that poor kid hitthe ring, I thought, Oh my God,
(26:22):
you got to be kidding me. Why would you go to them?
Of all people running on? Those guys are the worst.
Because like they said, we're the baddest thing of running.
And they didn't mind. They enjoyed it, you know, Poor,
poor guy got his ass whooped from one end to the other,
thrown out and and arrested. But I guarantee you to this day
(26:48):
that dude is bragging about it. You know, yes.
The best there's a. Story.
You know. There's a story of them in Smoky
Mountain, Cornett's thing of there was some spot show or
something, you know, and that was that's up in depending, you
know, the eastern hills up thereat the Appalachia area and.
(27:11):
It was like a latcher. It's I'll say it right.
Sorry man. Excuse me, I'm.
Not from there. I am no, I'm trying to.
Heritage anyway, so I guess it was like at a high for a high
(27:31):
school or out of high school or some shit like that, and they
basically took on a football team and they said they were
like just romping and stomping all through the crowd and
fucking all the people. Yeah.
Some kind of wild ass story, man, I, I, I wasn't there, but
yeah, absolutely. Because I guarantee you, if you
(27:52):
don't get them off their feet, they're gonna whoop you.
Yeah, you know what I'm saying? You know, and it's funny cuz I
got to know him in USWA but I also really got to know him
better in TNA cuz I worked with him more when I was doing slash.
And so I worked him a lot and a lot of this stuff was like, like
I said, trash cans and all that kind of shit.
(28:13):
And I remember Donnie coming up to me and he goes, man, I love
working with you. And you know, I'm, I'm in, I'm
6/1 and then probably 23235, right?
And he goes. I love working with.
You, yeah. And I said, I said you do.
I appreciate that. He goes.
No man, he goes. Most dudes your size are too
(28:34):
scared to lay it in. He goes, you don't give a fuck.
You'll hit me, man. I'm like, yeah, cuz I know
you're going to hit me. Yeah, you know.
Well, you know what? It's Why do you say that?
Because my very first match at aworld class was with Bruiser
Brody. And that's like 2 bruisers very
first. Match right, and that's what he
(28:54):
told me. Lay it in brother, lay it in and
my God, his head bleeding and I'm going like he goes, no,
don't stop and I'm going holy crap, really?
And and you know, I was like, well, let's put it this way.
It didn't turn out like I thought it was going to.
I guess he had a different version.
(29:15):
Then he forgot to let me in on, you know, you know, the table,
the chairs. Yeah.
But but it was like that really opened my eyes because, you
know, I hadn't been around that. And it was like, this is cool.
And that was your first? Match in world, but he's like
that, you know? Yeah, and that was your first
(29:38):
match in world class They. Really.
Fed you to Bruiser Brody. They're like, nice, see what
he's got. Yeah, but he was very kind to
me. That's awesome, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, thankfully. Yeah.
And you said you said that. Might have been a short career,
hope you hadn't. Been you know what I'm saying?
(29:59):
Yeah, no kidding, man. You said that was world class.
Yeah. How long were you there?
I wasn't there very long, only like 6 months.
That's where I trained with LynnDenton and Al Perez and you
know, Matt was down there and ofcourse Yvonne Erik's and Lance
was down there as well, you know?
(30:19):
You got any good world class stories?
Oh gosh. You had to do wild shit.
Oh God, yeah. I mean, it was like it was, it
was totally an eye opener because I figured this is the
way life was, you know, in the ring.
And it's kind of toned down a little bit when I, you know,
(30:41):
came back to Portland because those guys are like a family
down there. Yeah.
They, they were all like had each other's backs.
I mean, like what Tony Atlas, you know, it was, it was 10 RCD.
It was like. 10 dudes down there, yeah.
(31:02):
I mean, I think at the time he was actually the what the
strongest and the most. Biggest bench press?
Like seven O 5 or something likethat.
Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah.
But it was an Alma drill. That's where I ran into Al for
the full time. And you know, Alison, whole
different character, man. Talk about it.
(31:24):
Telling an individual smoke thatguy could shake a crowd and wrap
him around his little finger. And you know, he he had some of
the the one some of the best oneliners that opened up my eyes
was like the Lee sisters. You ever heard that line?
The Lee sisters are here and says it's ugly, homely and
sickly, Alex. I mean, I worked up here with
(31:52):
him and he would do the some of the dumbest crap right out of
the blue, like we were working at high school.
And he goes, I'm going to give you a, a big tackle, you know,
don't sell it, right? I said, OK, fine, boom.
And he did that. Then he goes again.
So I said, OK, And he says again, I'm going, what's going
(32:12):
on here? Right?
So he gives me another one, right?
And then he looks at me. He goes, you're too fucking
tough for me. I'm losing.
And he got out of the ring and left.
Let me standing there. I was good.
Oh, you, son. Yeah, man, you know.
You know, but that's the. Way he was.
(32:33):
That's the man. That's the part that I know a
lot of that doesn't go on anymore, maybe on house shows
for some of the bigger companies, but the ribbing each
other in the ring and fucking locking up and laughing or
cutting a joke or some shit likethat and the crowd knows nothing
about it. You know what I'm saying?
It's just not like that was fun.Or there was an old timer in
(32:56):
Portland. Oh, no, that was in Memphis.
No, it wasn't Memphis. Or was it?
I think it was world Class Brown.
He refereed a lot of Maltese bigguy old timer.
And that dude had the worst gas in the world.
Oh, my God. He, he would get in there and,
you know, he'd try to break you up.
And then he'd just let one go and it'd be like, Oh my God,
(33:18):
what the hell was that? And he'd be laughing.
He'd be laughing, you know. Yeah, it was like, stay away
from me, stay away from me. But you know, oh, that, that was
terrible. But funny, though.
Now it's funny. That wasn't funny, but, you
know, but it takes all kinds, you know, to make it work.
(33:41):
And I'm just glad I had the lungs everyday I did.
Let's take a quick timeout and get a word from one of my dope
ass sponsors and we'll be right back with more live and in color

(34:50):
VIP tickets are already half sold The Portland Wrestling Expo
on Saturday, February 22nd. Be there.
The principal Bergstrom gimmick,right?
Where, where, Where did that? That was Jared.
Okay, okay. Mr. Jared, all Mr. Jared.
(35:12):
But the sad part about that is he just kind of gave it to me
and didn't give any boundaries. Yeah, okay, okay, he.
Just said, you know what he wanted.
Yeah. And I was down there with Steve
Dahl and Rex King, right? And they just, you know, they
cost me. Don't go too far, don't you
know. But it I was kind of like, and I
(35:32):
was, you know, like I said, it was earlier in my career, so I
didn't want to step on anybody'stoes.
You know, I had a lot of ideas. But you know, it was just one of
those things, where do I do it or do I don't, you know?
And now I guess I would have done because now I, you know,
hindsight's 2020. I wish I would have went further
with it. Yeah.
Well, Speaking of that, I read that it said something about
(35:54):
there was rumors that you may bebringing that to work with the
123 kid in WWE as the principal was that, is that true?
No, no, not at all. I mean, I, I hung out with him a
lot, you know. Yeah.
But no, no, we never talked about it.
I mean, we might have joked about it, but we never really,
(36:15):
you know, there. Was no official discussion of
it. You go into the WWE with that,
OK? That's probably melt the news or
some shit. It's funny you say that too,
because I I went for the I went for the ride as they say.
I don't know if you guys over went for the ride with Lawler
and Percy Pringle. You know, I was in the band.
(36:38):
I'm I'm at a loss. I'm not sure what we're talking
about here. And they were asking me a lot of
questions. Oh, so you've made it right.
Answered a lot of those questions wrong.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah, that's all I can say all.
Right. All right.
I think I'm kind of in on it, but I'm I'm pretty sure I kind
(37:00):
of get your drift. Yeah, yeah.
But it was a great ride because I mean, I was, you know, it was
after the show. I I think we were like in Lawler
or something. Oklahoma.
It seemed like Lawler Oklahoma because everybody knew him.
I mean, even the police force and everything, man, they pulled
this over. You know how they used to have
roadblocks all the time? Yeah, well, right through
(37:21):
Lawler. Oh, Mr. Lawler, how you doing?
Yeah, go on through. Yeah, man, dude, he's, he's
definitely the king for a reason, man.
Oh, yeah. You know why they call him the
King after you've been there. For sure.
For sure. Yeah, man.
Yeah. It's like the Burger King.
He gets the big way, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah. And I.
Used to say, because the people believed in him like so much,
(37:44):
man. I mean, one of my things that I
would tell people, I said, man, if Lawler was walking down the
street of Memphis in his in his gear and he pulled his strap
down, motherfuckers would take off running so much they
believed. In it, man.
I mean, they'd look at each other like, who's the apple?
Who's the actor? Yeah.
No, I'm leaving. Yeah.
(38:06):
Oh yeah, As soon as he pulled that strap down, man, it was
like something's going to happen.
Yeah. And the pops he would get from
just as punches, which are in myopinion, and Jimmy's as well,
best puncher in the business. But the reaction to the crowd,
that was just incredible, incredible man.
(38:27):
You you brought up Steve Dahl and Rex King, man.
And and I lived with Steve for awhile, man, right before I got
married, the one and only time that I've been married.
And then he got married to the IT was 4 of it.
It was me and my wife and then his he, he had divorced Patty
and he had gotten with this other girl and we all lived
together and then we moved out because we got married and then
(38:51):
blah, blah, blah. And then Steve passed away.
He was like, damn man. That was a sad day.
Yeah, man, Steve was a good dude.
I just don't understand. I mean, him and Rex kind of went
the same way, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, yeah. They got the, they got the big
C, didn't they? Didn't they both get the big C
and kind of kick their ass? Yeah, well, I, I think Steve,
(39:16):
Steve's the reason he passed wassomething to do with a surgery
that went bad or something, if Iremember correctly.
Man, I and my memory sucks, but I think that's what it was, man.
I think. And then I'm not sure about Rex.
I can't remember that. I remember Rex when I was
(39:36):
talking to him while I was driving truck and he just, he
said he got cancer. Oh yeah.
Oh yeah. And he just wasn't feeling well.
And, you know, he was just. He was really down.
Down. Yeah.
You know, So he just kind of wastalking to people.
And I mean, a tie made me sad too.
(39:56):
Just. My my listeners have heard this
story, but you, you probably haven't.
You do you know the story of RexKing kidnapping Bert's
Prentice's dog because he owed him money and holding it for
ransom? I kind of heard part of that,
but it was like, I'm sorry, but really.
Yeah, it's a true story. I hung out with Apprentice for a
(40:23):
while when I first got down there.
Memphis. Yeah, right.
Yeah, yeah, actually stayed in this house.
Yeah, and now he's gone too. They all gone, man.
Oh. I know it's it's just not white.
Yeah, What about man? I know you used it around Billy
Jack a lot and I'm not going to get my line on him, but what do
you think, man, about what's happened to him in in recent
years? Oh my God, talk about a It
(40:47):
wasn't a 180. It was a 360 because he was just
spinning her own, you know, because I had, I had, I was
probably like most everybody else had all the respect in the
world for him, right. But then I guess when the mind
goes, it's, you know, the body'sgoing to follow.
So I, I couldn't believe, almostsaw him, you know, on TV in a
(41:07):
wheelchair and I was like, that's not, that's not him.
The. White hair, you know.
No teeth. I mean, come on now.
But you know what? Wrong.
But he had he had all the opportunities in the world.
It's not like he. Was much more no one cut him
short he'd cut himself short. So you know, I like I like a
(41:30):
good good friend of mine RIP Oliver.
I traveled a lot with him. I was up here and he talked, he
talked to me all the time driving down the road in his
Caddy. And it was just that that was
when he passed. There was another, you know,
seed doll, you know, even Bryan Adams, you know, so small.
(41:50):
I remember, I remember I went towhen I got my ex in South
Africa, I went down to we have aplace called here.
It was called Bitler's Beach, right on Columbia, right.
And I was training, training down at Sandy's Ring, you know,
when I got back. And then, so on the way home, I
stopped by Littler's and went for a swim.
Right. Well, in the meantime, somebody
(42:13):
broke into my car and took all my deal.
Right. And the first guy to stand up
was Bryan Adams. He says, here, here's some,
here's some boots. I went, really, He says, yeah,
man, he goes, I don't need him anymore.
Here, take him. But it was.
That's what I'm saying about theBrotherhood.
If he lost something. I mean, come on.
If if you forgot something goingto a show, yeah, you didn't have
(42:35):
to worry about it. Somebody had something you can
wear? Yeah, for sure.
You know, But yeah, I mean, yeah, it was.
It was, yeah. When RIP passed, it was sad
because I spent a lot of time with him.
Yeah. Danny's son Larry actually lived
with Larry for a while, so. Yeah, boys are gone.
I'm a hot tag you Jimmy, come back in.
(42:58):
So I read, you know, doing the research, I read that one of
your first real runs up in Portland was with a guy that's
also passed on now, but has kindof reached what they would say.
Like Internet darling Art bar. Talk about art.
A little bit Art. Art was so talented, so
talented. I mean, he, he looked at the
(43:21):
business a whole different way, you know, but he was, so he
would talk to you all the time. I mean, he was so young.
It was weird, you know, because how can you have that much
knowledge, you know? But then his brother was in it,
his dad was in it. So, you know, it was, it was, it
was like, you know, first life to him.
(43:42):
That's all I ever want to do. You.
Know and then he he, I mean he had he had great gimmicks.
The Beetlejuice thing was super.I know, I know, I know.
It's so of that time, you know, it's like nowhere else would
that exist except that time frame.
But I love that. And then the tag team with Eddie
Guerrero he had was incredible, man, you know?
(44:04):
God, I, I, I worked with him at,we had a little Clark County
fair out here in Washington. Yeah, it was.
And I worked with and it was it was so much fun because
everybody was so professional that you didn't really have
anything to worry about. I mean, Billy Jack was there.
It was just like, wow, what? What an All Star group.
(44:27):
You know, before, before Wolfie jumps that way because it was
just great. Yeah, before Wolfie jumps back
in because you just said a keyword of his, I would have
loved to have seen PG13 get to work.
That tag team, Art Bar and EddieGuerrero in a good run.
Man, that was cool to see. I think that would have been a
(44:48):
great match. In fact, that would be one of
the matches where you, you hate to, you hate to hear the bell
ring. I, I'm trying to think how, how
would you come up with a good finish?
Because it couldn't be a finish. It'd be like, until next time,
you know? Series.
Yeah, series. It'd be like a, you know, five
(45:08):
out of five out of nine, you know, I'm back.
It was just too bold. Yeah.
Two out of three. No, no, you know you wouldn't
have no. Maybe back then you.
Wouldn't have. Yeah, yeah.
(45:31):
Hey. What about the a dude that we
had on here that you know some afew episodes back plugging this
the convention that I've never met but once I talked to him,
man, we actually awarded him ouryear end awards.
Funniest episode of the year is John Nord.
(45:52):
He is a maniac. I love it.
Nord was so cool. Yeah.
Nord was so cool. You know what I'm saying?
Yeah. Yeah, he was.
He's got he he had so many lines.
It was like I I remember the only time I work out is when I'm
not on steroids. Yeah, you look at them all
(46:14):
really. Really.
You know, it was, you know, he'skidding, but it was just one
would say that. And then another time we used to
hang out. There's a place here in Oregon
called the Cattle company, right.
And it was right, right. Not far from the bomber where
all the brothers hung out, wherethey stayed, Little motel they
called the bomber. I don't know if they're familiar
(46:35):
with that, but so they have the cattle Company and I went down
there with Nord one time, which was total mistake.
You know, it was, it was fun. It was way fun.
So we we walk out, he goes, he orders like 12 beers, right?
We're going, I'm looking around going 12 beers.
(46:55):
He goes, yeah, that's for us. And I went, what do you mean?
He goes, we're going to drink them before we leave.
I'm going fucking crap. And that's, and it's for God.
We stood there and it was like arace to the finish.
You know what I'm saying? And he was like, come on, man,
come on, what are you doing? Let's go.
(47:16):
It was like, Oh my God, he was just, he, he was just a what a
personal personality he had. He's bigger than life.
Funny as hell, man. He's hilarious, man.
He. Really, he could say.
He's in the ring. Holy.
Oh, I can't imagine. Yeah.
Oh God, he had so much fun. He he, he was like a play day
(47:37):
for him. Yeah, right.
That's what he said. He said.
He said, man, I was just there for the party.
Yeah, that's what. He said yeah, he's like and then
you get him and linen together. Yeah, Oh my God, I can't
imagine. God, if those guys ever tagged
up, I don't know if they ever did, but if they did, Oh my God,
it probably lasted an hour, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, he was like, well. They wouldn't want to go home.
(48:00):
Don't be, don't, don't get it, you know, don't get confused.
It was totally for Friday night.Getting shit faced.
That's what we lived for, God. Yeah, I'm looking forward to
seeing Nord. Nord.
Yeah, his name was saying. He told me if it's in, yeah,
it's got to come out. What?
(48:22):
I was just saying every time. Didn't matter what the situation
was, right? Yeah.
So. So was was Raven as grumpy as he
is today? What back then?
No, man, that's, I mean, Scott of the body.
He was just like, he was like a fountain of information.
(48:43):
Yeah, yeah, you know, Oh, dude. And constantly.
Yeah. We could do right, We could do
wrong. What did you do better?
You know, do this, do that. But yeah, I totally respected
him. I mean, even though he was a
spoiled brat, spoofed brat, you know, he didn't act like it.
He was a rebellion. And so I think that the Raven
(49:04):
character was perfect for him. Yeah, yeah.
It was I used to tell him when, when we got to ECW, you know,
because in Memphis I'd known himas Scotty Flamingo.
Scotty, the body, whatever. And you know, his personality in
real life I think changed a little bit.
And not that I'm saying that it was really bad, but I would say
(49:26):
something like I say, yeah, I know Scotty, I don't know this
Raven motherfucker, the fuck with him.
And then I worked with him quitea bit in TNA later on in the
years there. But yeah, I always respected him
and good mind for the business, good worker.
(49:47):
And but yeah, Jimmy's right. I mean, he he has kind of
grumpied up a little bit in his older age.
Yeah, but I think it suited him.Really.
You know, suited him with the gimmick he had, You know, it was
perfect. Yeah.
So he, I guess he was just all those years he was just molded
himself for the finale. You know what I'm?
Saying right, right. And it was awful.
(50:07):
Makes sense? Dude, But you know when, when
Scott Peterson, you guys haven'ttalked much about Scott.
And that used to be Steve Dahl'spartnership.
Yeah, I. Just never.
Met. Yeah, I never had rock and
rollers, man. Yeah, yeah, They, they, it was
like those guys were like, man, they the crowd reacted to them
so hard. They didn't have to do anything.
They were like the Rock'n'roll Express of of that area, right?
(50:31):
Oh, well, Portland, yeah, they were the rock and rollers.
Southern Rockers. Southern Rockers.
Yeah, and people loved him to death, you know?
Yeah. And I know, I know Scott.
I know Steve talked very highly of Scott.
Very highly. Oh.
Those guys were were brothers from different mothers, you know
what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah.
(50:52):
It was those matchups that they were naturals together.
Do you think they worked Better Together than he and Rex?
Yeah. OK, that's cool.
Yeah. And.
And the other ones, I say that there's nothing wrong with Rex,
but Rex kind of had to follow it.
You know, he had. He was like I.
See what you're saying? Yeah, he was standing, laying to
Dennis. Converter original verbal,
(51:12):
right, right. It's just like a song singing a
song again. And it's it's just like not the
same. Sounds good, but it's just not
the same. You know, right, That makes
sense, yeah. I mean, he had some serious
boost to fill, you know, Yeah. No doubt, no doubt.
And but no Rex. Rex was cool.
Grex grew up so fast. I mean, he came into Portland
(51:33):
pretty green and he was, you know, he hit the road running.
He, he, he was, he was good. Real athletic, you know.
Yeah. And now a word from our sponsor.
(51:58):

(52:40):
2. Were you much of A ribber or did
did you get ribbed or did you see many ribs?
Is there one that sticks out that maybe you remember as being
funny? Really see too many, you know,
(53:01):
ribs up front. I heard about, I heard about
like a chain reaction type thingthat is always stuck in my mind
here in Portland. And Abby Avalanche, you remember
Avalanche here in Portland and, and Lenny and Lenny had a real
weak stomach, you know, and it was like one of those things
(53:25):
where going down the road and you know how you, you drink too
many Rd. Cokes and then you don't want to
pull over. So, you know, you, you pee in a
bottle or you pee in a can or, you know, you know how it was on
the road, just, you know, you fill it up and just throw it out
the window. But anyway, yeah.
And I guess it started with somebody had to pee.
They peed on themselves, somebody flew up.
(53:48):
It was just like, I heard that story and I was going like, you
got me kidding. You know, it's like.
It can only happen on the road, right?
Because it was like, and the way, I mean, I'm going to have
to remember to talk to Lenny about that because he, I mean,
God, it was it. It sounded so funny because it
(54:09):
was like, boom, boom, boom, Right.
Yeah, it was. Like but as far as.
Ribs go. I'm trying to remember.
I mean, I heard a great story about the Owens family Rib.
What's the hell? Yeah.
It was. It wasn't Don Owens, but it was.
Oh God, what's his brother's name?
(54:29):
Yeah, yeah, we're. I guess would.
Smoke cigars all the time. Oh, we've.
I might have heard this, Lance. Might have told us.
Tell me. Tell it though, I want to hear
yours. And and and they had.
Cigars. And so someone, I'm not going to
name names because I don't want to, you know, convict them, but
they inserted it in their butt. Yeah.
(54:51):
And so they offered it. To Elton, Elton was it was in
Eugene, Eugene, OR and Walton started smoking it right and
he's get this funny look on his face and and they're going
what's wrong? He goes, I don't know this, this
cigar tastes like shit. They couldn't look at each
(55:13):
other. They were crying.
They were laughing so hard. Oh my God.
Jimmy. Jimmy did.
Lance told. Us who put it in her butt,
didn't he Jerry Gray that's. Right.
So it was. Like, yeah, that was probably.
One of the funniest ones I've ever heard.
That's tremendous. I.
(55:34):
Think they slashed? Up his too, his announcers.
Jack, when he got it was all tore up when he went out there.
And poor Elton man. I mean, yeah, they they did a
good job on him. Not too much on Don, though.
I don't remember anybody pulled a rib on Don.
Well, they talked so nice about him.
They talked like he was one of the best promoters to work for.
(55:55):
So Oh yeah, Don would do the. For all the, all the, all the
rookies that came in all the, you know, the newbies that would
come into the thing, he he wouldbrag about his all his steers he
had, you know, all the cattle hehad on his ranks and he's he
would and you could tell it was coming when he started talking
about the cattle and he would goin Yeah.
(56:16):
He goes. I still got this wound here he
goes. You could actually feel it.
He goes well, I got actually gothorned.
I got divorced by a bull, right. And the guy would come out.
He goes, no, come on, come on up.
Feel it. It's, it's, it's really feels
weird. As soon as that guy would do
that, he'd grab him in the crotch.
He's. Like whoa, whoa whoa.
(56:36):
And he would. Do that to everybody.
So that was kind of an initiation for him, I knew.
It was coming, so I was going. Like, yeah, I grew up on a farm.
Yeah, I know what those are like.
So I was like, yeah, that's that's fine.
You didn't sell. It I love it.
That is good. He would do that with everybody.
And. Yeah, especially around payday.
(56:57):
You know, you go back in the office and everybody sitting
around drinking beer and, you know, getting paid and yeah, I'd
go, Oh yeah, by the way. And oh, we go, here we go.
And man, the, the you guys wouldjust stand up and volunteer,
right? That was pretty funny.
Yeah, that's funny. Man, that is good man.
(57:19):
Hey I have. I have.
Enjoyed catching up with you? Man and hearing some stories and
things I didn't know man. And you know, Jimmy, before we
let him out of the car here, would you you got anything else?
Well, just one more time. What do you plan?
I mean. Because you know, we've got the
Portland Wrestling Expo again with our homie Nick and
Captain's Corner, Saturday, February 22nd, Holiday Inn
(57:41):
Portland Airport 8439 Northeast Columbia Court, Portland, OR
obviously with that Portland 100panel with all the great stars
we talked about earlier. But main, the main reason you
want to go is for CW Bergstrom, though, and CW, so you're, I
know you're going to have the Pacific Northwest title there,
but are you bringing anything else to excite the fans a little
(58:02):
bit? Probably just a belt because I
think. You know, this more honoring 100
year thing. I don't want to take a open that
at all. I would just I like the focus.
I mean when I heard about the 100 year thing, I was like
that's too cool. That is cool.
So yeah, I don't want. To, you know, distract take away
from it. I just want to add to it.
(58:22):
Well, let me ask you this then, since we're.
Talking about the belt real quick, how much have you been
offered to get that belt from you?
If you don't, if you don't want to say it's OK.
Yeah, not enough. You haven't heard the price.
Still got it. Yeah.
I mean, I figured somebody like Conrad Thompson or somebody
(58:44):
would be all over you for that thing, man.
So. Yeah.
But no, it's it's. That's one of those things that
I might die. Worth it, you know, I might.
Well, yeah. Yeah, You know.
So is there a chance? one-of-a-kind for me?
I'm sorry, W, Let me shut up. You talking?
No, no, no, no. It's just.
One-of-a-kind. It means.
(59:05):
A lot to me, you know, it changed my life.
It's just it's, there's no priceon it.
I got it. To me it's.
Yeah. Let me tell you something.
I can understand this 1000% because the Memphis tag team
titles, Jamie and I held them 15times, which was more than
anybody else. And there's a lot of people, a
(59:27):
lot of big tag teams that came through there.
And I understand that The Rock has that belt or both of them, I
don't know. But because it was his first
title and I'm like, I held it this meeting.
I want that. But I talked to Dave Milliken,
who's the guy that actually madethe originals and I got
something worked out with him. Man.
(59:49):
We're hopefully I can be gettinga nice replica of it.
But you know, still made that man that made them.
And I'm telling you, nobody can buy that for me once I get it.
And I understand exactly where you're coming from bro.
Hey I feel the same. Way and we need to hook up again
because I need to talk to that gentleman because I've tried to
get A tag team Bill. Yeah, I can.
(01:00:11):
I can hook you up with that. And that would be great because
actually. My son was going to buy one for
me, right? And he and he had, I don't know
where it was from, India or you know what I'm saying, China or
whatever. Pakistan, is that what it is?
They make them apply there. Yeah, yeah.
He. He.
He put up all the money. And it took like three or four
(01:00:34):
months and then he finally said forget it.
Obviously you don't have it because they kept putting them
off and putting them off and putting them off.
But. He he would.
Be totally elated. You know, I I need to hook up
because I would love to have that too.
I mean, that's the only thing. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
(01:00:54):
Man, we appreciate you. Coming on here, taking a little
time out of your day and reminiscing and taking a little
road trip with us, That's what Ilike to think of this show as
Just jump in the car, let's takea ride and talk about some
wrestling. Yeah.
Oh yeah. That's all we talked about.
In the car, you know? Yeah, yeah.
(01:01:15):
I I still remember working in Portland and.
We get done with the show and weall, you know, pick up some some
beers and then go to somebody's house and sit there and watch
the show again. Yeah, for sure.
And. Critique it and critique it.
Critique ourselves, you know. Exactly.
Thank you. Yes.
I say that all the time, like Jimmy's heard me say it.
(01:01:36):
The listeners too. Once I got in the business, I
pretty much stopped watching wrestling just because I I
wanted to watch my shit and critique my shit.
I wanted to know, you know, whatto take out, what to put in.
And, you know, just. I really did.
I quit watching. Now, I'm not going to say I
didn't learn from going upstairsand watching Lawler on Monday
(01:01:57):
nights and stuff. I did that.
But I'm just saying overall, I didn't watch wrestling on TV
anymore. Not very often.
Yeah, I I hardly. Ever watch it now?
Because it's a whole different game, But it is WWE is.
Doing some really good stuff though.
And in the past year I've watched their pay per views and
I'll I've ever since it's been on Netflix, I've watched raw
(01:02:18):
because I do think they're doinggood stuff and they've gotten a
little bit back to more old school like they sell shit, you
know what I'm saying? Not as much as we did.
So what do you attribute that to?
You think they just, they ran the gauntlet and they thought,
well, let's go back to the beginning and try again.
And it seems like he's really changed.
It it really changed though, once Vince left.
(01:02:42):
So I mean, that had to be the thing.
And I mean, I've heard stories from like Rd.
Dog because, you know, he wrote,he's a producer on Smackdown for
a long time and, you know, he, yeah, you better call somebody.
I've heard he's. Told me that you know day.
Of Vince would RIP RIP up the script and and make him start
(01:03:02):
again and stuff I mean that's that's tough man when you're
writing that many hours and whatI'm saying is if you.
Stretch it out like they went away from because I remember in
Portland, man, it your gimmick went on for like weeks, about
months, right, Right. And then the finale.
And then it was like when you watch WWE, it was like, well,
(01:03:24):
every week is something different.
And it was like, have you followed that?
So yeah, but history won't repeat itself and I'm glad it
did. Yes, for sure, for sure, yeah.
Absolutely. Well, you know, we hope it does.
At least they're start. They've got a promising start.
Yeah, you know it can get. Off track.
Soon, but hopefully not I I think.
(01:03:45):
I think Triple H has wanted to put his own stamp on it, and I
think he loves pro wrestling, and that's the important part,
you know? So, yeah, Yeah.
Thank you so much. What we?
Do are you going to be out here?On Saturday or not,
unfortunately. Captain Nick doesn't have and
he's going to hear this and and laugh.
(01:04:06):
He don't have the budget for us yet.
We we are just his his go to podcast to plug his events for
him. So we appreciate him for sending
this talent and everything. But you know, we, for him to, to
fly both of us out to Portland just for podcast purposes is
probably not something that's, you know, money maker, you know
(01:04:27):
what I mean? And I understand, I understand
that completely. But hopefully in the future we,
you know, he'll do something like that.
But as of right now, we're just doing it.
And I'd love to, I'd love to be there.
I'm, I live in Somerset, KY now.I don't know if you remember
where that's at, but it's quite a waste of Portland, yeah.
Portland, TN. It's kind of close.
(01:04:49):
Yeah. But yeah, man, great.
Talking to you man. Great catching up man.
I do want to hook up with you again.
About the belt, okay, I'll. Take belt, I'll text.
You my number. Once we get off of here and OK
and then we can talk whenever you want.
Yeah, Cuz I I'd really love to get one of those that.
(01:05:10):
Was that was a great part of my life as well.
And you know, really brother, cool, just.
One of those things I'd love to have.
Yes, cool man, no problemo. I will hook.
You up man, So cool. All right man.
Have a good rest of your day man.
Thank you so much. I will see you brother.
Thank you man, I had fun. All right.
(01:05:31):
What to do it again? Sell a bunch of stuff and make a
ton of money. Out there, man.
OK, take. Care all.
Right, you too. And we?
Will be right back. With current affairs talking
about the Royal Rumble, DJ hit the music.
(01:06:06):
All right, we are back with. Current affairs and we're going
to talk Royal Rumble and Raw andall that cool stuff.
But man, first of all, the principal was here, and the only
principal I ever liked. Yeah, man.
No, he's it's. Been, it's been many years, man.
But like he was saying, it was just like we hadn't missed the
(01:06:29):
beat. You know what, I just seen him
the other day or something, you know?
Yeah. And and it's cool because it
was. Like man, if you guys hadn't
have done that thing with Jerry Jarrett and gone to where you
did and had Jeff shoot the video, you might have never met
this guy. Because honestly, it was like a
brief second. He was there maybe like 6-7
months at the most. So really, you could have missed
(01:06:50):
him easily if you hadn't have went ahead and got that PG13
thing going, man. So 100% man.
Yeah, yeah. But anyway, yeah man, thanks.
Again, to Captain's Corner, makesure to go see him at the
Portland Wrestling Expo on February 22nd.
You've heard me say it a milliontimes, but y'all got to go see
that. If you're in that Portland area,
make sure you get a good cool CWBergstrom autograph.
(01:07:13):
But today we got the current affairs and the most current is
the Royal Rumble. And of course, you know, we'll
talk a little raw, too. But what do you think of the
Rumble, man? I enjoyed it man.
I honestly like the girls rumblemore than the guys.
I thought, I don't know, really.Yeah, I'm, I'm kind.
Of with you, man, actually, yeah, yeah, yeah, there was, I
(01:07:35):
mean. I don't know why, I just thought
it was better. Yeah.
Yeah, you know. The men's, I felt like there
were so many possibilities, like, you know, you had Punk and
rain Rains in there and Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre and I
was like, man, how are they going to get these guys out of
here? You know, and I don't know, is
(01:07:56):
is Jay ready for it with the crowd?
Yes, Here's the thing, man it. Makes I feel stupid, you know
what I'm saying? Because I like, what was I
saying? Oh, they're not going to put him
over on Gunther and and all this, which they didn't, but
man, you can't deny how over thedude is, man.
No, Yeah. I mean, and that's what it's
about. You know.
He's moving merchandise and the people are on their feet the
(01:08:18):
entire time for that long ass entrance.
I know. And then you.
Know when they put him. Over I was kind of like wow, you
know but then raw last week whenhe can't he cut that interview
you know and got emotional and shit like that it's like OK, I
think I get it now you know trust the process with these
(01:08:40):
guys man you know everybody wants to knock everything every
week that's all the time but trust the process sit back and
enjoy it man you know yeah see what's going to happen next
that's all it is is a soap operayeah.
Because I'm trying to think because obviously.
Who he doesn't pick then that one gets settled.
I still this is my prediction again, we don't really do
(01:09:03):
predictions on here, as you can tell, but my prediction is I
feel like he'll pick Gunther, but I don't know you know they
could throw a curveball. I just don't I don't.
Maybe it could facilitate the Cody.
He'll turn better with this. I don't know, but I don't know.
Yeah. But yeah, the girls, man.
And. Then put Charlotte over, you
know, as soon as she comes back.I mean, I guess she's earned it
(01:09:25):
or whatever. And you know, again, I don't
want to sit here and second guess it, but I don't know.
Yeah, a little different. She definitely looks different
man. Had a little plastic surgery
going. I think maybe she got some some
ass watching. Saying.
Take some of that shoulder meat and put it down in the ass.
(01:09:46):
Yeah, man, bless her. She's.
Definitely got AV cut on her body, you know, like she's a
wide shouldered lady. But yeah, you know, she's built.
For sure. I mean, she's.
You know, but she's, she's cut up.
She's. Got that?
That no butt deal though. Yeah, looks like she's backed up
(01:10:07):
against the Grinder. And you know, Speaking of the
other matches, real quick, I waspulling for PG14 on here.
They were really cool. I was hoping they would beat
DIY, but they didn't. You know, I was pulling.
The crowd was tough on that match.
You know, it got it got better at the end, but they were kind
(01:10:28):
of tough on them there for a minute.
Yeah, I'd hate to be in that. Situation I mean you're.
Trying to follow a rumble too. I know, I know, and and you
know. DIY and the Motor City machine
guns. They are built to work together.
You know, they're it's cool thatthey're Another thing was making
them do a two out of. Three fault match you don't even
already see those anymore Never make them make them follow the
(01:10:48):
women's rumble with a 2 out of three fault tag team match
that's pretty tough to do man nodoubt bro and and I mean.
Have you done those two out of threes in A tag match?
Of course, yeah. But in Mexico, that's all like
we did. Right, right.
That's the two out of three. Got it, Got it.
OK, that makes sense. Yeah.
Yeah, man, that's cool. Well, I wonder if that was the
(01:11:08):
the thing, man, you know, PG14, we're probably like, hey, let's,
let's get them, you know, and we're calling Motor City machine
guns. And the the story behind that is
the last time I think you were aslam adversary, they came up to
you and said, hey, man, we're big fans of you guys.
Yeah, Yeah. Well, the one did.
Shelley, Alex. Yeah.
Yeah, Shelley did. Yeah, and.
So what do you think about the ladder match?
(01:11:30):
I mean, it was cool. It it you know.
One of the best ladder matches I've ever.
Seen No, no, no, no, no, no. There wasn't a lot of.
High risk and. Right now, the bump at the end
Kevin Owens took looked really good.
And then I saw something the other day on the interweb where
he went, Owens went under the ring, stuck his head under the
(01:11:54):
ring for a good minute, man. I mean, not a whole minute, but
I'm just saying for a decent amount of time to either get his
color or I'm starting to wonder on some of these guys whether
they're they're starting to use fake fucking blood, man.
I really am because let me tell you why.
(01:12:14):
The first time I noticed it was with Jacob Fatou and Braun
Strowman. He didn't have, he did not have
any way to get color there. There was no it was coming from
like his it wasn't coming from his forehead.
It was coming more from like themouth and nose area.
But it didn't look to me and I could be wrong.
It just didn't look like real blood.
(01:12:36):
And all of a sudden it was thereand and and he Fatu was and it
wasn't his fault. It was Braun was laying so far
low on the bottom turnbuckle. He wasn't hardly making contact
with him. So I I don't think he in his
face. So I don't know, man, it just
looked a little awkward to me. And then seeing Kevin Owens go
(01:12:56):
under there like he did, it's like I think he's been in the
business long enough and probably got color enough for
you. He shouldn't have to do that.
I mean, I don't know. And then because the referee
went over to him as well. And so it's like, I don't know
if he was handing him a blade orhanding him something to squirt
some fucking blood on himself. I don't know.
It's just it was awkward to me. And I mean, I think I'm
qualified enough about getting color to know when I see
(01:13:20):
something that don't look right. But I could be right or wrong.
So they're trying to prove that fan.
That said that to you, That one exactly, That's what I was
thinking. I was like.
Blood capsule and what the people.
Thought. They.
Cut it. They cut themselves open.
Insert a blood capsule. Chicken Blood chicken.
Blood Chicken. Blood.
(01:13:40):
That's right. And then you pop that and so the
cut that you put it in doesn't bleed at all.
Remember that, you know you havea pocket in your forehead.
Yeah, Pocket. Yeah, Hot Thought Pocket.
No, that's a different thing. Sorry.
Yeah, man, but I'll tell you a joke if you could fit more than.
(01:14:00):
Two fingers in that thing, girl,it ain't a it's a pocket.
That's. Funny, that's yeah.
But anyway, yeah, and then but. Yeah, so the ladder match, I
mean, was decent, right. Like I said, I've the it's hard
(01:14:24):
to follow shit like the Hardy Boys and all that.
I mean, they kind of took that shit to a whole new level.
And there's only so much you cando without killing yourself.
Yeah, exactly. And and you know.
That's definitely true, man. But you know, I think that it
was cool. There was a video.
I thought you were going to say this when you were like, I was
looking on the interweb at this, but there was a video I saw
(01:14:45):
about how Sammy was looking downat Kevin, like, so concerned
about his friend's health. And Cody looks down.
It's like, let him die, let him bleed and walks off.
And that was like, they showed, like, the end of it, like
Homelander from the boys. They're like, he's becoming
Homelander in front of our very eyes, you know?
Yeah. I mean, he looks just like him.
(01:15:06):
They could be bring that guy to do an angle with him.
Yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely.
Have him in the crowd or something.
Oh my. God that would be awesome.
Yeah, yeah, but no, I mean, whatwas the deal with the little
bitty ladder? Yeah, I don't know about that
one. I mean.
Because it didn't. It was there.
And yeah, he used it a little bit, but it really never made
(01:15:28):
sense as to first of all, why itwas there, right, Other than to
use as a weapon. I mean, obviously you can't
reach anything with it, but I don't know, I feel like if if
that was there, they should havedone something really good with
that, right? They missed the opportunity, in
my opinion. Yeah, It was like a chair.
They used it more like. A chair almost, right?
Kind of. I mean, I mean.
All you saw, all that was used for was a shot to the gut.
(01:15:51):
That was it. And Kevin went up on top of it
and then got off of it and stomped him.
I actually probably would have done something off of it just to
be a heel. But right.
Right. Yeah.
Maybe if you could have done that and got a reaction.
Yeah, if you could have done it,you.
Would have done it for sure. Yeah, Yeah.
But I mean, what would you give the rumble?
What would you give it? Like in your opinion, what's our
(01:16:13):
scale like? A letter rating.
Like a grade, I guess, yeah. Let's see, I give it a B.
Yeah, it's like AB. Minus C kind of deal for me, it
wasn't bad. It was good, you know, but.
But. Like I said, I think the.
Best thing on the card was the women's rumble.
(01:16:34):
Yeah, and you know, because at the end of the men.
'S Rumble. I was like, OK, it's Cena Logan
and Jay USO. I thought they were going to put
Cena in the spot, man. I was like here comes super Cena
in and he's going to win and youknow that.
But hey, they pulled the plug I guess.
I don't know, but whatever. But anyway, Jay USO is over, and
I guess they're going to run it with him and see how it goes,
(01:16:55):
man. See how maybe they'll stick the
rocket on his back all the way to the top, let him win that
title, and you never know. So yeah, who knows, man?
We shall see. But I mean.
It's already a done deal that he's the main event of
WrestleMania, right? Right.
Unless they do. Something to Suarez and he.
Somebody injuries him or something, or the rock comes in
and just takes it. Away for a week and then they,
(01:17:17):
you know, but I can see a very Daniel Bryan.
I don't know if you remember that that big run that Daniel
Bryan won from Batiste of the title and how they they put him
over for that. I can see a little bit of that
with this Jay USO, right? He's very over with the crowd.
So. But definitely, definitely,
yeah. And I guess that leads us to
Monday's. Raw, right.
So, yeah, OK. Yeah, so.
(01:17:39):
We kind of already touched on it, you know, I said.
It made more sense to me that Jay won the Rumble with the
interview he cut on on Raw. A little emotional interview
kind of makes sense and kind of helped it all out.
But I put the pieces together for me anyway.
So what did you think about that?
Yeah, I mean, it was exactly it started.
The process, and I mean, Grunther's automatically going
(01:18:00):
to come out there and be like, Idon't think so, man.
Not you, buddy. You're not the one for me, you
know? And yeah, I'm completely not
interested in you. That's exactly like, it's his
choice. I love it, you know?
Yeah, but I mean he has main event, Jay.
So they're like you said, he is the main event.
So that's what cool. What if John Cena switched?
(01:18:22):
Heel, which he's never done right.
He switches heel and and does something to knock Jay out of
the main event and then they have healed John Cena versus I
don't know what he could do, butyou know, I guess you'd have to
hurt him where he couldn't be atWrestleMania anyway.
And then Justin still got the rest of the year.
So you could do an angle there that might be something that'd
(01:18:44):
be like John Cena would be the equivalent of NWO Hulk Hogan.
Oh my God, Can you imagine the? Booze.
That. I mean, as over as Jay is with
this crowd right now, Can you imagine?
Oh my God, dude. And now that's And that's a way
to get him out of. You know, winning or first of
all winning the championship, but also having to beat him at
(01:19:06):
WrestleMania to possibly stop his momentum, you know, cuz I
just, I don't know, I don't eventhink he needs a belt right now.
He's over enough where he don't need the belt.
He does not need it. And I don't know, I could see
him swerving something like that.
And that would be good, I think, for John Cena.
And I mean if it were like the old days.
(01:19:27):
Where you were in it. They are what you would consider
a little babyface heavy right now with CM Punk, John Cena,
Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins. I mean, you got, you know, a few
other the heels on the other side, Gunther, Kevin Owens, you
know, Drew McIntyre. It's pretty.
I mean, and then you got that tweener thing with Roman Reigns
going right now. They are a little baby heavy as
(01:19:47):
far as like, if that even mattered.
I know it doesn't anymore, but yeah, you know, so turning Cena
Hill in his last run, man, that.I mean, dude, that would be a
cool one. Yeah.
I like it. It could be something.
Ludwig, Kaiser and Pinta. Yeah, continuing to.
Build Pinta, you know, every, every match you know so far.
(01:20:09):
So do you think he's losing any steam?
I think that Royal Rumble flub. Kind of, yeah.
Yeah. It shows you he's a little.
He's. Not quite ready for prime time.
Does that make sense at all? Yeah, Yeah.
Guy. He's a math guy.
Too so. Emotions and interviews are
(01:20:31):
important. And that would be the thing that
he lacks, right, right. Because I mean, and I'm
surprised I, I didn't realize hewas 40, but you know, they used
to not hire people at 40 for thefirst time, You know what I'm
saying? Right, right, right.
Well. You know, AJ Styles kind of
threw that out the window. Actually, when they brought AJ
(01:20:52):
in, that kind of changed. Now again, I know LA Knight is
right there too. If he's not 40, he's late 30s.
And Kevin Owens isn't, you know,he's probably in his mid late
30s. So I mean, he's they're they're
up there for sure. But I mean, it's it's Punk is a
little bit older than me, so he's 46.
So I mean, it's, you know, there, there's some age to them.
(01:21:15):
But I mean, I like that it's nota requirement anymore to not be
20. Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, if I was still. Healthy, I'd have a.
Shot. You would have a shot.
Yourself in the foot, right? I got good.
Aim on them piggies. Yeah, yeah.
(01:21:35):
Let's see here so. Then Charlotte came out.
Yeah, her and Ripley did the. Little interview there.
I mean, you know, that'll be a good match.
I mean. Oh yeah, I mean, and.
They're doing the what? I beat you once, you beat me
once. So here's going to be the thing.
I hope they don't push Charlotteover on that because you know,
I'm biased when it comes to Rhea.
(01:21:58):
I think they end up doing. It to be honest, without the hot
tag that that women's belts had lately, there's no real home.
I'm with you, man. I kind of wish I used to really
like Charlotte. I do not dislike her.
I think she's a very talented wrestler.
But I've kind of moved on from her, you know what I mean?
And I think Ray is your hot ticket.
(01:22:19):
But maybe they just build a fullyear run with them too.
Who knows? But, you know, we'll see.
We'll see. But the tag match, Yeah, OK.
So yeah, that was a good. Tag match, really.
Yeah, yeah. I mean.
You got you got Rey Mysterio in the New Day, and then you've got
Logan Paul on the outside. I think there must be something
(01:22:41):
planned with Ray and Logan. I guess maybe it's just the the
Elimination Chamber match they're about to have next week.
But yeah. Yeah.
Who you think wins that one? Who wins the Elimination
Chamber? Yeah, no.
The match next week between him.And Ray, in your opinion, I
think it's probably Logan, right?
They've been putting Ray over heavy.
He's. Could they have?
That's true. He's kind of do.
(01:23:02):
For a loss, right? Right, that's a good point.
Yeah, he's a great heel. You gotta give it to him.
Man, oh, he's incredible. Heel, I mean.
He has that real go away heat man.
Yeah. And like, people hate him.
Smack that. Fucking look off his face,
right, right and. I mean, but like if you.
Watch his podcast. He doesn't have that face on,
(01:23:22):
you know what I mean? I'm sure he's a really cool guy,
but I'm just saying he does his job well.
Yeah, definitely. He's a very.
Talented performer and has the ability to well, I think those
guys are smart because they knowthat they're they're winners and
unfortunately the world hates winners these days, you know
what I'm saying? And they are winners and people
(01:23:44):
hate those winners. So I, you know, I get it very
smackable face though for sure live and.
EO Sky, yeah. And this I mean the tag match.
Was good, but I don't know, thiswas one of the better matches on
the show. I thought maybe the best match
on the show. Liv's really good, man.
Her facial expressions, her work, everything.
(01:24:05):
But she's just, she's got her character down really well.
Oh dude, anybody that's dated a crazy?
Girl, this girl is playing the role perfectly.
So yes, yeah. So and and EO and.
Her great match. They are similar size, you know,
and both of them are fucking. They look to be pretty.
Stiff with each other, Yeah. And, you know, with the hair
(01:24:25):
flying. And stuff.
It's always hard to tell that. But yeah, they look very stiff
and very slug. I'm, I'm a fan of both of their
work when they do it together for sure.
So yeah, man, yeah. And.
Then then it leads up to the Seth.
Rollins hyping up Sami Zayn ahead of the lemon.
So Seth Rollins comes out and I want to tell you right now I
missed. Everything after that match we
(01:24:47):
just watched. OK, Yeah.
Well, the next you close this. Out.
Sure. Well, the next.
Thing that happens is Sami Zayn is out in the ring and Seth
Rollins comes out there looking like Rob Zombie, Macho Rob
Zombie or something and he hypeshe's hyping up Sami Zayn ahead
of his Elimination Chamber because you know, he hates Punk
too. And then and then of course that
(01:25:09):
leads out to CM Punk coming out and ended up defeating Sami Zayn
to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match.
I always like the questions thatyou can have with these matches
because you never know if they're going to say, OK, let's
let's do this for Sammy, but I just could not see CM Punk not
being in the Elimination Chamber.
So it was kind of a a tale to methat, you know, he was going
(01:25:32):
over. But either way, I mean, it was a
good showdown between the two. You know, Punk, I feel like, you
know, I I think he's probably destined for that other spot,
whoever Gunther or Cody doesn't get.
But who knows, man, like, you know, they chose Jay in the
Royal Rumble. So I don't know, but I thought
it was a solid match between twoguys that can absolutely go with
(01:25:54):
Punk and Sammy and you know, Punk went over and you know, you
know, there there was so but that was wrong.
Finished. What was the finished was any
kind of? Boasted involved.
So it was. A when he countered his SO So
Sammy was trying to do the hell of a kick and he countered and
attempted and he did the go to sleep.
(01:26:16):
So he countered the hell of a kick and put him into a go to
sleep. So yeah, yeah.
So I feel like I. I since I missed the last match,
that's really all I missed was the last match.
But right, I mean, I can't really give it a grade.
I can say that I like the Liv Morgan match the best but since
you watched it all you you give the grade I think B minus.
(01:26:39):
C It was it was, you know, pretty solid show.
Wasn't the greatest show, but itwas solid.
I think you're right that the Liv Morgan match was probably
the best. But you know, the pumpkin Sami
Zayn was a solid match. Just like that's The thing is I
didn't watch that. One so right, right.
Boo Boo. Boo for me so.
Yeah. Well, you know, hey, so, yeah,
(01:27:01):
but that was that was current affairs, man.
That's all I got, brother. Right on.
Well. Thank you for tuning in, folks.
And hopefully next week we'll have another good guest for you.
If not, I know Jimmy's got something that works.
You want to you want to kind of talk about what that could be.
Yeah. So eventually we'll.

(01:27:21):
That'll be funny. You'll enjoy it.
So that would be great. Yeah.
Oh my goodness. Yeah, because y'all don't know.
Jimmy has said it out a lot of shit.
All right, so anyway. We hope to have a really
incredible guest next week. Actually, could be two and this
would be two weeks worth, but I got two people in the works
(01:27:42):
right now that could be really good ones.
As if, as if. Most of our guests ain't really
good anyway, but just saying, right, right, just saying.
We grow. We.
Grow. We.
Grow any growers, not showers anyway, I've had enough.
