Derek Carr has officially retired from the NFL at the age of 34. The former quarterback for the New Orleans Saints announced his retirement due to a significant degenerative shoulder injury. After 11 seasons in the NFL—eight with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders and two with the Saints—Carr decided to step away from the game. Medical evaluations indicated that surgery would not guarantee a full recovery, leading to his decision to retire.
