Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello everybody, welcome back to the Bible
Breakdown podcast with your host, pastor Brandon, today.
1 Chronicles, chapter 25, andtoday's title is God's Perfect
Timing.
God's Perfect Timing.
I don't know if you've everwatched this before, but have
you ever watched a major leaguebaseball player swing a bat to
hit a ball?
They say that in all of sports, the hardest thing in the world

(00:24):
to do is to hit a baseball.
You have a baseball beingthrown by a grown man a hundred
miles an hour from an elevatedposition, very fast, right at
you, and it is going to, it isgoing to pass right beside you.
And they say that you have toactually start your swing before
they let go of that ball, thatit's so fast that if you wait to

(00:48):
see where that ball's going, you've already missed it,
because it happens in just afraction of a second.
And they say that your timingand instincts have to be
absolutely perfect if you wantto hit that ball.
And I'm telling you when Ithink about that and I think
about how the things that Goddoes in our life, infinitely
more so, that's how God is thatbefore things even happen, he

(01:11):
knows exactly what to do.
We're going to get into that injust a moment.
But, as always, if you likewhat we're doing here, make sure
you like, share and subscribeto the podcast and the YouTube
channel.
Make sure you're leaving uscomments on the YouTube channel.
I love interacting with youguys so very much.
I love this community of peoplethat we're building where, man,
we're just reading the Bibletogether.
I can't think of a better thingto rally around than God's
amazing, inspired, inerrant Word.

(01:34):
I love His Word so very muchand I love that you love it too.
Also, make sure we're gatheringaround at the Facebook group
Bible Breakdown Discussion, man,the more we dig, the more we
find, and I love the devotionsthey put out there every day.
It is such an honor to readthose together and it is a joy
to see the ministry that theyare doing over there.
If you have your Bibles, wantto open them up with me.
Remember, what they're doingnow is in 1 Chronicles 25, is

(01:59):
they've just got through talkingabout the priest having to take
turns and casting lots.
Well, they're going to do thesame thing for the musicians
today, and I love this littlephrase that they put down right
before they talk about theselots, and it really encouraged
me with something that I want toshare with all of you today.
Now, first of all, the notdiscouraging part is there are
some more names.
That's really hard to say, butwe're all going to laugh at

(02:21):
Pastor Brandon while hestruggles through these names,
and then we're going to see whatGod's word has to say to us
when it comes to God's perfecttiming.
So if you're ready, 1Chronicles 25, verse 1 says this
David and the army commandersthen appointed men from the
families of Asaph, heman, jaduthun and Jaduthun to

(02:42):
proclaim God's messages to theaccompaniments of lyres, harps
and cymbals.
Here's a list of their names andtheir work.
From the sons of Asaph, therewas Zechur, joseph, nethaniah
and Zeruiah.
They worked under the directionof their father, asaph, who
proclaimed God's messages by theking's orders.

(03:04):
In other words, they weresongwriters, verse 3.
From the sons of Jaduthun, there was they worked on the
direction of their father, jaduthun, who proclaimed God's
messages to the accompanimentsof Lyre, offering thanks and

(03:25):
praise to the Lord.
From the sons of Heman becauseof course you got to have Heman
there was Bekiah, metaniah, uzel, shebuel, jeremoth, hanaiah,

(03:52):
hanai, zephath, jethel,zemutarizer, jezobashah.
All these men were under thedirection of their fathers and
they made music at the house ofthe Lord.
Their responsibilities includedplaying the cymbals, harps and
the harp and liars at the houseof God.
Asaph, jaduthun and Hemanreported directly to the king.
They and their families wereall trained in making music

(04:14):
before the Lord and each of them288 in all was an accomplished
musician.
The musicians were appointed totheir team of service by means
of sacred lot, without regard towhether they were young or old,
teacher or student.
I love that.
We're going to come back tothat in just a moment.
The first lot fell to Joseph ofthe Asaph clan and 12 of his

(04:39):
sons and relatives.
The second lot fell to Jedeliahand 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The third lot fell to Zechurand 12 of his sons and relatives
.
The fourth lot fell to Zeri and12 of his sons and relatives.
The fourth lot fell to Zeruiwith 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The fifth lot fell to Nethiahwith 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The sixth lot fell to Bekiah, with 12 of his sons and

(05:01):
relatives.
The seventh lot fell to Azaliahwith 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The eighth lot fell to Jeshiah, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The eighth lot fell to Jeshiahwith 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The ninth lot fell to Mattaniah, with 12 sons of his sons and
relatives.
The tenth lot fell to Shemi, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The eleventh fell to Uzziah, with 12 of his sons and

(05:23):
relatives.
The twelfth lot fell toHabeshiah, with 12 of his sons
and relatives.
The thirteenth lot fell toHabeshiah with 12 of his sons
and relatives.
The 13th lot fell to Shebuel, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The 14th lot fell to Mattaniah, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The 5th lot fell to Jeremoth, with 12 of his sons and

(05:44):
relatives.
The 16th lot fell to Hananiah, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
It almost sounds like you everremember the 12 days of
Christmas.
You always have partridge in apear tree.
I feel like that's what we'redoing right here.
All right, verse 23.
The 16th lot fell to Hananiah, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The 17th lot fell to JoshuaBekah with 12 of his sons and

(06:08):
relatives.
The 18th lot fell to Hananiah, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The 18th lot fell to Hananiahwith 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The 19th lot fell to Malothi, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
The 20th lot fell to Elithah, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
21st lot fell to Hethir, with12 of his sons and relatives.

(06:29):
The 22nd lot fell to Gedalte, with 12 of his sons and
relatives.
23rd lot fell to Mehezoath, with 12 of his sons and
relatives, and the 24th lot fellto Ramatai-Ezer, with 12 of his
sons and relatives.
So apparently it was always a13-man band and they needed to

(06:53):
make sure that we knew that.
13 of them every single time.
The dude and 12 of the folks, right.
But here's the thing I loveabout this If you remember,
yesterday we were talking abouthow everybody wanted to serve.
Everybody wanted something todo, and so they actually had to
cast sacred lots and theytrusted that God would make the
dice fall where they needed toand make it so that everybody

(07:14):
had a chance to serve.
What I love about this is inverse 8, it says the musicians
were appointed to their term ofservice by means of the sacred
lots, the dice, without regardto whether they were young or
old, teacher or student.
I want to tell you something, and I hope that the Holy Spirit
will put this so deep in yourheart that you will never be

(07:36):
able to forget it.
Here's the thing when Godcalled you.
He factored in everything thatyou are, everything that you're
not, everything you could be,everything that you wouldn't be.
He knows exactly what he'sdoing.
I heard someone say well, whathappens if I were to mess up

(07:59):
God's plan?
Sweetheart, you're not thatpowerful.
God knows you.
There's this thing that's calledimposter syndrome that many
people deal with and I'm goingto oversimplify the explanation.
But it's basically the ideathat you feel like that you are
not up to a task you've beengiven or something you're doing,

(08:19):
that you're actually a fraudand you're afraid that someone's
going to find out.
They're afraid that people aregoing to find out that you
actually don't deserve thatpromotion or don't belong in
that family.
You don't actually know whatyou're doing and if someone ever
finds out that it'll all beover.
Imposter syndrome, can I tellyou, a lot of times, when it
comes to serving God, peoplestruggle with imposter syndrome.

(08:42):
Well, if God really found outabout me, he wouldn't love me.
If other people knew how much Istill struggle with doubt
sometimes, if other peoplerealize that I'm not perfect and
I have these different thingsand they wouldn't love me, they
wouldn't care about me.
Imposter syndrome when it comesto God.
Also when it comes to the factof where you are in life right
now.

(09:02):
Can I tell you something?
God has a plan for your life.
God is in control, more thanyou realize.
That's a hard statement, because we love to think that
God's in control.
When everything's going great,man, god's in control.
But when everything's going bad, when bad things happen to good

(09:23):
people, when the worst thingshappen to good people, we have a
hard time believing God's incontrol.
But even then God is in controland that can lead down very
deep theological pathways.
At some point in your life youneed to go down those pathways
so you can see that God truly isin control and he truly does
love you.
But here's the thing the Biblesays that God appointed these

(09:46):
people where they were, irrespective if they were young,
if they were old, if they werea teacher, if they were a
student.
God put them in the right order, in the right place at the
right time.
God's timing is perfect.
So can I tell you something?
God sees the end with thebeginning.
Read the book of Revelation.
God already sees what's goingon.
God sits outside of time andspace.

(10:07):
He sees time like a book, Fromthe beginning to the very end.
He sees everything in between.
It blows your mind if you thinkabout that.
God sits out of time and soright now, he is able to go into
eternity, future, time, and soright now he is able to go into
eternity future and be with usin heaven.
He's able to go back intoeternity past and see Abraham,
isaac and Jacob because he seestime on a continuum, as though

(10:29):
he's reading a book.
God sees from outside of time.
Therefore, god knows rightwhere you are.
He knows right where you needto be.
God's timing is perfect.
What does that mean?
That means you can take a deepbreath.
That means that God is with youno matter what.
If the best thing happens toyou, god is with you.
If the worst thing imaginablehappens to you, you're still not

(10:54):
going to be alone.
God is with you.
That does not mean everything'salways going to go well.
That does not mean you're nevergoing to have a problem.
It means you might have theworst problems in the world.
Think about the life of Job.
Job lost everything in thecourse of a day, and then
afterward he even lost hishealth.
But you know what neverhappened?
God never changed his mindabout Job In the end, the Bible

(11:16):
said that God actually rewardedJob with more than he could have
ever asked for double what hehad before.
God never changed his mindabout Job.
Can I tell you God doesn'tchange his mind about you.
His timing is perfect.
Therefore, there's hope in that.
Right now, if you're goingthrough one of the worst seasons
of your life, can I tell you,god sees you.
God knows right where you are.
He hasn't lost you.

(11:37):
He hasn't forgotten about you.
He's not busy on this otherpart of the planet.
He knows you and he has purposefor you there.
So maybe what you need to do isstop asking God why and start
asking God what.
What are you wanting me tolearn?
What are you wanting me to getout of this?
What are you doing in my liferight now so I can become part

(11:57):
of the solution, not add to theproblem?
If you're going through a greatseason in your life, give God
the glory because his timing isperfect.
So take a deep breath, sigh and, before jumping back into that
difficult season, remember Godis with you.
You're never alone.
Because you're never alone, there's always hope, because the

(12:18):
king of the universe, who lovesyou more than you can imagine,
is smiling at you right now andhe's saying that's my boy,
that's my girl.
Look at them, go.
Nope, they don't get it rightall the time.
But angels, look at them.
That's my baby.
I got them right where I wantthem.
You can't believe what I'mabout to do next.
Let's pray right now.

(12:39):
God, thank you so much for today.
Thank you, god, that you see usand you know us and you're for
us.
I'm thankful, god, that yourtiming is perfect.
God, so many times we live inthis world, we live in this
space of time, that we forgetthat your timing is infinite.
Your timing extends past whatwe can see.
I pray, god, that as wecontinue to wrap our minds

(13:01):
around trusting in you, you willcontinue to open our eyes to
see that you are beyond faithful.
We celebrate you today InJesus' name.
We pray Amen.
And what God's word says in 1Chronicles, 29, verse 17,.
I know, my God, that youexamine our hearts and rejoice
when you find integrity there.
I love you.
I'll see you tomorrow for 1Chronicles, chapter 26.
