306 – What will it take for you to let God be in charge?
Have you ever been so involved in getting something done, wanting everything to turn out just right that you put your whole heart into it but somehow you ended up having to push and shove to get things to come out the way you wanted them?
And even after all that effort, things don’t always work out?
Maybe you’ve even prayed about it and asked God to help you, but at the end of the day there was more of you trying to make something happen instead of letting God unfold a solution.
In this week’s episode we’re going to talk about what it means to let God be in charge, to let God’s will be done instead of manipulating events to get what we want. We'll look at
- The difference between the way Sarai and Elizabeth trusted God
- How King Saul took things into his own hands instead of trusting God
- How King Jehoshaphat instantly trusted God when several armies came to fight him
- And how Jesus admitted he couldn't do anything without God's help
If you have trouble letting go of the need to be in control, start with something small. Then go on to something else.
Go sit out in nature, without an agenda, without trying to accomplish anything. And just take in and observe all God has done and is doing.
Let God be God. Let God happen in your life.
