Well, well, well, folks we have come to end of the road for the 2024-25 sports season calendar and allllll of the amazing content Black Annnd White James got to deliver for yall across the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA, NCAA leagues, it was an absolute pleasure having each of you as loyal listeners, but now it's time for us to go on summer break!But before we go out to deploy them beach chairs, there's business to address, championship business! The Oklahoma City Thunder capped off their nearly record-breaking regular season record with a successful run through the playoffs knocking off former champs Denver, Western Conference bullies Timberwolves, and Eastern Conference buzzer-beater upstart Pacers en route to the first national championship for their "small market" fan base! Does Black James have thoughts on the credibility of their win after Haliburton goes down with the THIRD achilles tear of the playoffs...maybe!
Then of course we have to touch base on the epic 64 foot putt masterfully delivered by JJ Spaun on the final hole of the 2025 US Open at Oakmont, giving him a birdie on the 18th hole, giving him the first major championship win of his journeyman career, and giving the USGA only one person to finish the tournament under par, all around amazing stuff for us golf fans out there!
And with summer break officially upon us, we close out the show with good news from the world of MLB, baseball is back! The LA Dodgers and NY Yankees are nearly at full strength, smaller markets like Pittsburgh and Milwaukee have pitchers scorching the plate with 100+ mph stuff, and plenty of great storylines in between {shoutout to the phenomenal hitting and catching performance of Cal Raleigh out in Seattle}.
