The School to Prison Pipeline

The School-to-prison pipeline is a very real and frightening phenomena that is destroying the lives of Black and Brown students- especially in low-income areas. Dr. Darryl Brown is a career educator with over 20 years serving students, and he has a lot to say about the current education system in LA and even nationwide. He’ll drop absolute gems in regards to school policing, systemic racism within education, white vs black trauma, and clear up the traditional vs charter school debate. Most importantly, he’ll graze the surface of the importance of mental health for students and how a healthy mind and body can lead them to academic success.
