To assist in establishing and maintaining operational
readiness, physical fitness, health, and a professional
military appearance. The ABCP aims to make sure
Soldiers are physically ready for any task by promoting long

Question 2 Who has authority to direct a body fat assessment?
Regardless of screening weight, commanders and supervisors will
take appropriate action to ensure that Soldiers maintain a
proper military appearance at all times.
(06:08):
Commanders can require a body fat assessment even if a Soldier
is under the weight on the screening table.
This allows leaders to enforce professional appearance
standards. A soldier may appear overweight
despite being within screening weight, and if so, they can be
measured using the body fat tapemethod.
Question 3 When can a commander direct a body fat assessment?
(06:31):
Even if a soldier meets screening weight, if it is
determined that the individual does not present a soldierly
appearance, this clause gives the commander discretion.

This ensures consistency and professionalism in the force.
(06:56):
Question 4. What is the Soldier Action Plan
and when is it due? The Soldier has 14 days from the
notification counseling date to complete and return the Soldier

administrative actions. Question 7 What are the
ramifications of a soldier beingflagged under AR 600 to 9?

consecutive months or three non consecutive months in a six
month period or failing to meet standards within 12 months of
