Ever wondered which Christian movies and TV shows have genuinely transformed people's lives? In this heartfelt conversation, we dive deep into the faith-based entertainment that shaped our spiritual journeys and offered profound insights at critical moments in our lives.

David kicks things off by recommending "Fireproof," a Kirk Cameron film he describes as "life-altering" despite its modest production values. What makes this recommendation special is how it came highly praised from his men's Bible study group as a powerful tool for marriage renewal and spiritual growth. While acknowledging the production limitations common in Christian cinema, David emphasizes that the godly, marriage-focused message transcends these technical constraints.

The conversation takes a particularly moving turn when Javi reveals how "The Bible Series" fundamentally altered his spiritual trajectory. At a time when he wasn't yet a believer but was asking spiritual questions, this visual representation of biblical narratives helped him envision Moses, ancient landscapes, and miraculous events. For Javi, seeing these stories brought to life created an accessible pathway into faith that ultimately led to his conversion – demonstrating how Christian media can serve as powerful entry points for seekers.

Jason's story perhaps hits the most emotional notes as he shares his connection with "I Can Only Imagine." The film's portrayal of abuse, father-son conflict, and athletic dreams deferred mirrors Jason's own life experiences in profound ways. What resonates most deeply is how the movie demonstrates God's redemptive work through painful circumstances, showing Jason he wasn't alone in his struggles and that healing through faith is possible. The episode wraps with nostalgic mentions of VeggieTales and playful banter about which hosts cry during movies (Javi admits he does, while Jason claims his "tear ducts don't work").

Christian movie or show.
All right, I will start becausethere's a movie that came up in
a men's Bible study that I wastalking about, that I was in a
few months ago, and theymentioned that they had watched
this movie and that it was lifealtering.
Okay, so I was like I'm in.

I mean look, christian movieshave a history of not being all
that well produced.
That's true.
You know, you got some newstuff out.
That's awesome.
Chosen's great, but this is notthe greatest production or the
greatest acting, but the storyitself is life-altering, I mean
it's really.
It's a beautiful story, it's anintense story, it's a very

(01:09):
godly, very god-focused storyand it's and it's kirk cameron
at his best.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Yes, no, it's really great.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
And if anybody, if anybody is looking for a little,
you know, marriage, pick me up,or a renewal of their, of their
marriage, or the, even just theway that they look at things.
It's a solid movie.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
It's a solid movie.
I've seen it and it is a goodmovie.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
It's solid I would say for me would be the Bible
series.
Um, that was on Netflix and I,um, I was around 2013, 2000.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
It was called the Bible series.
Yeah, that's what it's called.
Yeah, specifically yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah, it's called the Bible series and it goes pretty
much throughout the Bible.
It goes from the Old Testamentall the way to Jesus and the
crucifixion, and for me it waseye-opening.
Right At the time I wasn't abeliever and I was asking
questions.
Yeah, yeah, I was askingquestions, I was trying to
wonder what's going on, I think.
And it came the time netflixwas like big right, it was like

(02:02):
one of those times I think, wowyou just kind of watch
everything you've been theremight be.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
I think it might.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
It's just yeah, yeah maybe, and to me it was just
revolutionary for me it was Iwas able to see what moses maybe
looked like.
Right, I was able to put a faceto the name, you know.
I was able to see the, thelandscape of things and how they
maybe lived.
Um, I was able to see some ofthe animations of, like, the
parting of the Red Sea and allthat stuff and I thought that

(02:26):
just helped me to reallyvisualize.
It was a really easy ramp intothe Bible, into the faith, and
it's one of my foundations.
I think for me that reallyhelped me to become a believer
Solid.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
For me.
There's a movie called I CanOnly Imagine.
This is about the band mercy,me and them getting together in
the lead singer.
I will tell you that this ummovie has a lot of parallels
with my life um, the, the abusethat he took from his father
from the beginning, uh, therelationship that they had.
Uh, the fact that he lost hisfootball career for me was

(03:01):
basketball career uh, there wasjust a lot of things.
When I watched this movie, uh,it just touches me in a certain
way.
It makes me feel every time Iwatch it that, um, you know,
first of all, I'm not alone thatsomebody else had gone through.
Um, you know some tough timesand and through jesus was able
to not only pass through thattime but have a miraculously

(03:26):
ending.
You know, I don't want to ruinthe ending for everybody here
but, it's a great movie and itreally is.
You know, you watch God at workand you watch some miracles
happening and it is really justa movie that has impacted me in
a way that makes me reflect onmy life, makes me reflect on my
childhood in a really positiveway and also a way of man that

(03:49):
was tough, but I'm now older andI have God and I'm through it
and I can just see thingsdifferently.
So it's a really great movie.
If you have not seen it, Idefinitely recommend it.
That's cool, for real.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah, that sounds great.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Did you cry?
Yes, often no, if you, that'scool for real.
Yeah question did you cry?
Yes?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
often no.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
If you know me, you know no, if you know me, you
know that the my tear ducts donot work.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, I cry at toll house cookies commercials yeah
I'm.
No, I'm a big old baby.
No, I am not and I'm notashamed of it at all.
