When Kim Rahir was hit with a life-altering diagnosis, she knew she needed to take control. After a terrifying episode of paralysis, she learned that she had Multiple Sclerosis - and her life changed dramatically. But, facing frightening changes in her body, and lifelong drug treatments, Kim’s instinct was to push back on what her doctors were telling her.
With a burning drive to be able to rely on her body again, Kim decided to get phenomenally strong; and the stronger she got, the more her symptoms declined, until one day she was officially in remission. The transformation was so extraordinary that Kim decided to leave her career in journalism to become a health coach specializing in aging women.
In this episode, Kim takes us through her devastating diagnosis, and her discovery that physical decline isn't something we have to accept, even when we're told it's out of our hands. It's a story about the profound impact of building muscle, getting stronger, and taking control…but never taking anything for granted.
