We pull back the curtain on scaling Gold Shark Media AI—from the rush of early wins to the sting of hiring too fast—and walk through the simple rules that kept us in the game: prioritize sales, protect cash, and make practical choices that extend runway instead of shrinking it.

We start with the unglamorous truths of growth: how outsourcing led to smarter hiring, how overstaffing cratered margins, and why treating every client like your own business turns churn into retention. Then we go hands-on with our all‑in‑one AI CRM, showing how a single dashboard captures leads, conversations, funnels, tasks, ads, and analytics without juggling five tools. If you’re a realtor, contractor, or agency builder, you’ll hear how white labeling the platform can turn services into a software-powered offer, with clear setup options and monthly plans that match your stage.

Along the way, we talk brand strategy that resists narrow boxes. Real estate, media, and AI don’t compete when they tell one coherent story about solving problems in public. We also share a sober look at digital assets: research deeply, avoid hot-money shuffles, and invest with patience. The point isn’t speed; it’s compounding—skills, relationships, testimonials, and systems that add up quarter by quarter.

If you’re building while balancing a day job, if you’ve learned the hard way that cash flow beats bravado, or if your tools are running you instead of the other way around, this conversation offers a map and a morale boost. Subscribe for more candid playbooks, share this with a founder who needs a reset, and leave a review with the one process you’ll fix this week.

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
As I continued scaling that business, Gold
Shark Media, as we continuedgrowing the business, one thing
that was really cool is Ilearned how to outsource, and
then eventually I learned how tohire other people.
And when I started hiring otherpeople, then come on, don't lose
a lot of money.
Don't lose money in business.
You know, spend as little aspossible.
You need to make very, veryrational, practical decisions,

(00:23):
but you need to stay inbusiness.
That's really the key.
You just need to survive.
You need to survive, you need tonot quit.
What's up?
My name is Brendan Scott Ecker, and I'm a Michigan real estate
agent entrepreneur, and I'mmaking this video just because I
wanted to talk about businessspecifically.
I just wanted to make this videoas an entrepreneur, as the
founder and CEO of PolcheckMedia AI as an update because

(00:47):
I've been slacking on content,I've been just super busy.
Um, also, I'm also a policeofficer, so I have to make time
for the things in my life.
One thing I learned aboutbusiness is that you need to
find good clients, and you needto just really get good at
acquiring them at a rapid rate.

(01:07):
Sales needs to be everything.
And so, if you can focus on thattactical advice, that's the
tactical advice I would give anyyoung entrepreneur.
Be hungry, be motivated, andthen be focused on you know,
really building your financialfuture.
And so, this was what I wasmotivated for.
This is why I grabbed my realestate license because the way I
saw it, be a middleman and bebetween the investors and be

(01:28):
right between the homeowners,right?
And sellers, whatever, be themiddleman and find a way to make
money in as many markets as youcan.
Real estate, Gold Shark Media,AI, focus on AI, living in the
future.
And some people tell me Ishouldn't do this.
You know, this is how you builda brand.
This is basic branding, and it'sthe one disagreement I have with
entrepreneurs when they say, well, you need to really niche

(01:50):
down on one thing, but it's likepart of building a brand,
though, is putting a face to itand building a story out of it,
and all of these differentbusinesses and trying different
things and becoming a master ofdifferent markets.
That is the key to business.
So if you can learn to do this, then you'll truly master the
game.
One lesson I learned my firstyear with Gold Shark Media AI,

(02:11):
it was about consistency, treating the clients as if they
were me.
That customer retention, youknow, monthly revenue, did
pretty well for those clients.
We still do well.
Again, that was my first year ofbusiness.
Our second year of business, wedid it even better, and then now
we're doing even better.
And again, you can see a lot ofour testimonials on our website
at Gold Shark Media AI.
Yes, our goal is to help youbuild your business with an

(02:33):
all-in-one AI CRM.
And what this means is beingable to give you a little bit
more capabilities than most ofthese different CRMs actually
are able to do.
Okay, so this allows us tohandle your foundational setup,
your sales and conversions, andyour website and monetization.
All of it happens in one place,Gold Shark Media CRM or Gold

(02:54):
Shark Media AI.
Okay, you're going to be given adashboard where it allows you to
follow all of your differentleads, all of your different
opportunities, your conversions, your funnels, the pipelines,
everything.
Any tasks that you have to do,manual actions, lead source
reports, your Google Analyticsreports, Google Business
Profile, Facebook ads, all of itis right here.

(03:16):
Sales efficiency numbers, everything's going to be kept in
one place in Gold Shark MediaAI.
So you never have to worry aboutthat ever again.
Okay, you got any conversations, you got anybody who's messaging
you already right here and readyto go.
You don't have to worry aboutgoing all to all these different
social media platforms just togo find it.
But not least, you have your CRMconnector, and this is just to

(03:36):
basically white loyal, this isso you can white label your
business, your your website as asoftware, and we help you do
that by essentially creating itfor you.
And again, we can do this for997.
If you want us to just set upyour entire CRM for you, you
want us to do all of this work, then no problem, we can do that.
But with that being said, ladiesand gentlemen, that is it, and

(03:58):
that is everything you need toknow to build your own software
with Gold Shark Media AI andorGold Shark CRM.
Okay, you can integrateeverything you need to know, and
you can manage your business inone place, and everything step
by step.
We have guides to teach you howto go, where you gotta go, how
to do everything you gotta do.

(04:19):
We have AI chatbots to assistyou if you need the help right
here in the corner.
Everything you could possiblyneed.
But again, we recommend the$497per month plan so that way you
can get the full effects, youget full, full services out of
this when you're paying for the$4.97 plan.
And if you pay us$9.97 a month, then we'll just do everything

(04:40):
for you.
Again, better deal than you'regonna get out of HUDSPA and a
lot of these different agencies.
Okay, so be sure to work withthe Gold Shark Media, build your
American dream, and we will seeyou next time.
Envision gold.
Specifically for these purposes,I like to tell this story.
Year one in business was kind ofI didn't know what I was doing.
Your first year of business canbe your best year if you do it

(05:01):
right, if you're actuallysuccessful at having a large
amount of volume and reallyshowing people who you are.
This is my message innovate, begreat, and build businesses and
be motivated.
And the younger you are, don'tthink YOLO, you only live once.
No, yeah, think like that, butuse it for business, use it for
building generational wealth, build a life for your family,

(05:22):
build something that isworthwhile.
Don't waste a single second.
But it's been busy, it's beenfun, it's been good, and
business has been decent.
I'm excited for certain marketsto emerge, specifically digital
assets, invest in digitalassets.
And when I say that, duediligence, common sense, don't

(05:43):
be stupid, don't move moneyaround too much, do your
research, invest in the future.
If you're under my age, I'm 27years old, been in business a
few years now.
Um, with Gold Shark Media AI, wecreated a CRM, which is a
customer relationship managementsoftware.
And with our software, you'reable to essentially automate
your entire business and scaleit up, track unlimited leads,

(06:05):
10,000.
I think it starts at like10,000, 100,000 leads you can
put in there.
You can get integrations, youcan sync up different things for
your business.
And specifically, we like towork with realtors, contractors,
it kind of works for that best, especially or a marketing
agency.
If you're a marketing agency outthere, um, I understand that.
If anything, I understand themarketing agency grind.

(06:26):
If you're a new marketing agencyand I can help you with that for
sure, I know what it's like towork and build a startup,
especially in tech, where youthink you're gonna make a lot of
money, you think it's gonna bereally easy to make it, you
think you're gonna just be amaster of the game right out of
the gates, but that's just nothow it works, is it?
Business doesn't work like that, and it never will work like
that.

(06:46):
As I continued scaling thatbusiness, Gold Shark Media, as
we continued growing thebusiness.
One thing that was really coolis I learned how to outsource,
and then eventually I learnedhow to hire other people.
And when I started hiring otherpeople, then I hired too many
people, and then I lost a lot ofmoney, and that's never fun.
Don't lose a lot of money, don'tlose money in business, you

(07:08):
know.
Spend as little as possible.
You need to make very, veryrational, practical decisions
that seem boring, you know, thatmight seem disadvantageous to
the business itself, but youneed to stay in business.
That's really the key.
You just need to survive.
You need to survive, you need tonot quit.
For me, I was extremelyoverwhelmed.

(07:29):
That was my experience.
I also had I somewhat struggledbecause I, you know, didn't have
a lot of experience in businessmy entire life.
I guess I did, you know, when Iwas in high school, I sold a lot
of raider cards, what we calledthem for a raffle and football
season, and I sold the most, butwhatever.
I was always a salesman, I wasalways some what of an
entrepreneur, but I never likereally applied it.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
