Nate Holly is my guest on this episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace. A short, twenty-second video that came across my feed caught my attention. It turns out the clip was of their first ever show a couple of months ago. I needed to know the story behind this band and the heavily tattooed man singing with a buck knife on his hip. So, I reached out. Vile Mind is just a few months old, and they've been making noise in the Huntington, West Virginia area, and due to that video clip, a lot of people are aware of them now. Nate couldn't have been a nicer, more gracious guy. A tattoo artist at Prestige Tattoo & Piercing, a father as well as a man with over a dozen years of sobriety under his belt. He helped create the Huntington Music Collective, which is a grassroots, DIY movement that brings hardcore shows to the area. An area that has been decimated by drugs over the years, he has created a positive space for kids and adults alike to come and hang out without drugs or alcohol. I'm glad I reached out to him. I'm sure he'll be back on with another member of Vile Mind once their first EP drops next month. The utmost respect to him and what he is doing in Huntington, West Virginia.
