Episode #10: FROM PILL POPPING CRIMINAL TO YOUTUBE INFLUENCER.... Today we have Josh, a fellow YouTube Influencer and local celebrity who has his channel DOVTV813!

So right from the start his life wasn’t exactly normal, his mom was an alcoholic and around the age of 7 is when his father died in a car accident. His mom couldn’t and wouldn’t stop partying so he eventually ended up at his grandparents (on his dads side)house. Luckily for him they were willing to raise Josh.

His grandma lost her daughter in a car accident and some years later lost her son in a car accident too. She had to bury both of her kids, but even with having to do that she took Josh in and was the best thing that could have happened for him. It was at this point in his life where he felt abandonment, always felt awkward, when your own mother doesn’t want to have anything to do with you, you start to think no one will. Now even though he had his grandma and she loved him very much, it wasn’t his mom. But she ended up doing more for than his mom ever did.

When he was middle school he started to get this rush to act out, getting into trouble became a fun thing to do as crazy as that sounds. This is when he copped his first charge, and it was a big one. When he was in 6th grade Josh and a couple friends ended up robbing a house in the neighborhood. They stole jewelry, and some gun ammunition. They ended up getting caught and Josh got charged with grand larceny, and armed burglary. They charged him with armed burglary because they say he armed himself in the process of a burglary.

It didn’t make any sense to him then, and still doesn’t to this day. Then he continued to get in trouble. Started getting into pills then started doctor shopping. Made a lot of money but then he was in accident and started needed the pills for himself. That was a long road of addiction. He racked up a whole bunch of petty charges, and finally got arrested and went to prison.

Today he’s living a much better life today….He’s getting married in February, bought a home, has a dog, help people in recovery, became a personal trainer, and even works for Capitol remodeling. His life is completely different today, and is still kinda in shock by his own transformation. He is passionate about re entry and reform because he’s seen first hand what the system will do to someone. Re form for the criminal justice too! He wants to do whatever can help the person that doesn’t have someone in their life to help them. He’s also passionate about stopping the system from making people plea out to charges that they didn’t do.
