Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey everybody. Hello everyone, this is the Buddhist af podcast.
Well lowse this number one podcast in New Hampshire. I've
stated before that I don't edit my podcast. I don't
want to take away. Uh no, let's tick that I
don't want to take the time to go through and
listen to everything that I've said, just because I'm probably
(00:22):
gonna erase the whole thing because it's probably embarrassing. But
I used audacity for the first time. On the last episode.
Someone told me I can go in and erase the
gaps in between the pauses that I naturally do during
my recordings, And yeah, I'm not doing that again. It
(00:44):
sounded like a machine going from word to word, not
my thing at all. Besides, I like my slight pauses, right,
But what am I playing? Oh well? I finished Hogwarts Legacy.
In fact, last time I talked to you guys, I
(01:06):
was one main mission away, so I'm officially done. I
did go the Anakin Skywalker ending. Won't spoil it for
you guys, but yeah, I took the power and uh
did the did the side quest me and uh m,
(01:27):
Poppy Sweeten saved the Golden Snidgets closed up the the
story with I forget his name now, Sebastian and uh yeah,
so I cleaned. I everything was neatly wrapped up, and
(01:48):
all that's left over is just just boring side missions
that I'm not even gonna bother doing. So, uh, I
don't know. I don't know what I'm moving on to next.
As far as what I'm playing, probably my yearly Mass
Effect playthrough, because I do that every year, and it's
it's getting close to November seventh and seven day, which
(02:11):
is the special Mass Effect Day. But lately it's been
I've stated this before, it's been like attending a funeral
for a friend because it's just sad. It's something that
you know, I look forward to every year. I'm thinking
something's gonna be great, and then and seven, November seventh
comes along and I'm I'm just greatly disappointed. Usually I
(02:34):
say it all the time. Usually I don't plan things
that way. I don't get disappointed when they don't happen.
So unfortunately and seven I always expect something, and I'm
probably gonna expect something again this year, and I'm not
gonna have anything. So yeah, not doing any reading. I'm
(02:55):
not reading anything right now. Actually, I finished up the
Bridgewater Triangle book, and I'm starting to write my own book.
In fact, I've I think I talked about it a
few times that I've started writing and then I've stopped.
I've tried before and then I got writer's block and
I just stopped. And in the last week that I
(03:16):
talked about starting last week where I'm really feeling it.
I've finished writing a few scripts for the YouTube channel
and I'll be recording them soon. In fact, they are
why I'm recording this episode right now. It is a Saturday.
I usually released episodes Sunday night, like late Sunday night,
(03:38):
almost midnight, so early Monday morning. But I'm trying to
get as many things out of the way as I can.
So I usually do like an outline of what I'm
going to talk about on the podcast, and then I
hit those notes when I'm recording, and then I released
them the same day, like I said, Sunday night. Well,
(04:00):
these new projects that I'm working on, I need to
check as many things off the list as I can
without sacrificing the great quality of podcasts. You've come to
know and love, right, You like me? Right? Yeah, Well,
let's go to the main topic. Alex is a homeschooler.
(04:23):
So you guys all know my deep, deep hatred for
the town of Dairy and the public school of Dairy.
So I told you how disappointed I was that Alex
had to go back to that school that we all
hate so much. So we did something about it. We
(04:43):
pulled them out and actually, courageously props to my wife
for pulling the trigger. I was all for it. And
so Sunday, Monday too day, Wednesday and Saturday are his
school days. Thursday and Fridays are days he's with me.
(05:08):
He's with me every day, but Thursday and Fridays is
when Mary goes to work, and so I take over
as super awesome parent. And we've been having a really
great time. In fact, Thursday we went to a science
museum in Vermont and we spent a great number of
(05:29):
hours there. We learned a lot and we played and
had a really good time. And Friday we went to
the uss Alba COREP, which is a submarine. In fact,
it was the first submarine to have that round sub
bread shape. I guess all the other submarines kind of
(05:51):
had the round bottom but the flat top, and the
uss Alba core was the first submarine to actually have
that universal round body, so super cool. Learned a lot,
we both did, and we just generally had a good time.
And like I said, now that he's a homeschooler, we
can bang things out, get him up to speed a
(06:13):
lot quicker than he would if he was sitting in
a classroom waiting for his classmates to catch up. And
if we want to go on vacation, so be it.
We can just go. We don't have to wait for
him to have a school vacation. We don't have to
worry about early dismissal or like, what are we going
to do when he's early dismissed? We have to change
(06:34):
our schedule. We don't have to worry about that because
the schedule is home. Like anything we need to do
we do as a family already. We already do those things,
so we just do them. I mean, the hardest part
is not actually having a day off. But I mean,
I'm hanging out with my boy, and I'm hanging out
with my wife sometimes. I mean, she's fun sometimes when
(06:57):
she catches up. But no, I'm I'm I'm really excited
and I'm super happy. That's probably why I've been so
happy lately. If you guys have been listening, my afflection
is a little bit higher. So I'm feeling a lot better.
I didn't want to talk about it for a bit,
but now that you know we got the ball rolling,
(07:18):
I'm super super happy that he is homeschooled. And uh yeah,
there's more adventures, I suppose. But what else did we do? Man,
we did a lot of stuff lately. But I want
to say that this is the time of year, this
is this is the best time of year. It's the fall.
(07:41):
It's my favorite time. A lot of you know, a
lot of people will say I like the spring in
the fall, sure, but if you're in New England, if
you're in the northeast, fall is probably going to be
the best because leads are changing. The weather is perfect.
I drove to work today and I didn't have to
use the air conditioner. I didn't have to use the heater.
(08:02):
It was just boom, just car and me. Sometimes the
windows open, sometimes it's not. But I don't have to
use up any extra things. And so I am getting
about thirty one miles per gallon on the h on Victoria,
and so I'm I'm enjoying myself. Still ice coffee. Still
ice coffee year round. It doesn't matter, you know, it
(08:24):
could be it could be fifteen degrees below zero. I'm
still drinking ice coffee. I'm just that guy. I'm I'm
not shorts guy. I'm not the guy that wears shorts
year round, but I have friends who are like that.
I am looking forward to. Soup. Soup is the best
soup is the most complete meal. I don't care what
(08:45):
anybody says, Oh, good steak, good burger, good salad, loser. Soup.
Soup is so good. Like you can have it as
a chowder. You can have as a thin soup. You
can have it as a meaty soup. Uh, you can
have it as a sticky egg drop soup. I suppose,
(09:06):
I don't know, not a big fan of egg drop soup.
But hot and sour soup. Yes. But yeah. So I
have just been super super busy. I've gotten done with
the book. I finished the book. I have send it
(09:26):
out to an editor for somebody to take a look
at and give me some pointers. I actually looked it
up on fiver. If you guys interduced fiver before five,
not fiber, I would have be would have be is
in Victor Fiver. You can get freelancers. You can hire
freelancers to do whatever. You can get a freelancer to
(09:50):
edit your photos, you can get a freelancer to write
a script for you. I don't know if they do taxes.
I'm not sure about that, but you can pretty much
somebody to do anything on fiber. See I just said
it on Fiver and I found somebody who was local.
(10:10):
So I was like, you know what, I need an editor.
Let's have somebody who's seen things before. So they had
a pretty good, pretty good rating, four point nine and
the only downside that they had was that the client
didn't like the advice that the editor had given him,
(10:33):
so that was the only ding against them. So I'm like,
you know what, I love constructive criticism. I love hearing
from you guys. If you don't like what I have
to say, if you don't like what I've done, let
me know. It's not going to change anything, but let
me know. I want to know how you feel about this.
This is a interactive show that you have no say
(10:58):
in because I have the number one podcasting in Laos
in New Hampshire. But so it has been sent out
to the editor. It takes about three days before I
hear back, and then once it's back to me, we
fix what needs to be fixed, if anything, I believe
(11:18):
it's perfect, and then I learn how to how to
sell a book on Amazon. I suppose I don't really
know what to do after that because I didn't plan
that far. Again, I don't plan things out, So once
I get a book back, I guess I have to
(11:40):
sell it. I'm not going to just let it sit there.
I mean, it's already sat there for about one and
a half almost two years, so I'm gonna have to
learn how to format. I suppose I can find somebody
who can do that on Fiverr as well, but I
don't want to have to keep paying people to do
these things. I should probably learn it. I'm very good
(12:02):
at learning things when I want to, when it involves
me making money. So yeah, I'm probably gonna learn how
to format and learn how to distribute. I'm pretty sure
you're looking up on YouTube, So once that's done, i'll
let you guys know. The YouTube channel is up that
(12:22):
I talked about last week. It is officially up. Last
week it was kind of still in its demo prototype
beta phase, but I've got to dialed in. I know
what the channel name is, I know what I want
to do with the channel. In fact, it's going to
be three different three different subjects on that. It's going
(12:43):
to be, like I said, I love history, so it's
gonna be about history, it's gonna be about mythology, and
the third one is going to be an offshoot of
this show. It's just gonna be random things. So one
of the topics I came up with was as I
was sitting I believe I told you guys, as I
was sitting at the light at Walmart, I saw a
(13:04):
panhandler and his intern. So I'm wondering in my in
my head, like how much do panhandlers make. I'm pretty
sure they make a decent amount of money. So I
did some digging there. Somebody actually did statistics on how
much a panhandler makes and it's all tax free. So
(13:25):
maybe after I do this video, maybe some of you
guys start becoming panhandlers. Maybe I'd become a panhandler myself
with my venmo QR code, because you know, I'm technologically
advanced like that. But I'm very excited to do all
these things. I'm very energetic about it. I don't sleep
very much. I sleep about four hours at night if that.
(13:50):
I try to go to sleep somewhat early for me.
At least one o'clock in the morning is early for me.
And then Mary and Alex are up at like seven
o'clock ish, six point thirty seven o'clock, and they're very loud.
The colonizers are very very loud. In the morning, Mary
opens up every closet she can find and then closes
(14:12):
them and then opens them up again, just just make sure.
Maybe there's a fridge light in there. I don't know.
If she's trying to catch like an elf who's turning
the lights on and off. I don't know, but she
does it. She does it every morning. And then she
comes in the room and then she walks around and
opens up the dressers, the drawers, and then closes them.
Doesn't take anything out, she just opens and closes them.
(14:34):
I think she's doing it on purpose, probably who knows.
I'm trying to sleep. And then she leaves, doesn't close
the door, so then I can hear, you know, her
and Alex doing whatever it is those people do. And
then I go and close the door, and then I
try to go back to sleep, but I'm just laying
there on my phone. And then the door opens again,
(14:54):
and then the dresser drawers open and close again, and
then the closets open clothes again, and then for some reason,
out out of randomness, they start yelling at each other.
And then Alex comes in the room because he's probably
been sent to his room, but he chooses to come
into this room instead, and then he starts sniffling for
(15:16):
about ten to fifteen minutes straight. And so here I
am just laying there wondering why I woke up in
the morning. And then I have no choice. I just
get up, so I don't get much sleep throughout the day.
So I mean, right now, I probably could go to sleep,
(15:37):
but I choose to be up and be creative because
I'm really enjoying what I'm doing. I'm really enjoying talking
to you guys. I'm really enjoying writing. In fact, I'm
writing notes while I'm talking to you guys. I can multitask.
I'm a right and a left brainer. Yeah that's right,
pretty fancy. I get write with both hands too, do
a lot of things with both hands. Talk about that another.
(16:00):
But no, I think I'm enjoying this a lot more
now that I'm challenging myself, because before it was just
let's get this podcast done. Let's get an episode done,
and then let's move on to the next one. But
now I don't know. Something clicked. Something clicked, maybe that
(16:20):
anger I had a couple episodes ago really started turning
the gears. Some rust broke off. But I'm at that
point where I'm enjoying this. I plan on doing this
for quite some time. I mean, it's not that hard.
I'm standing here because I'm on a standing desk. Diabetes
(16:41):
Oh oh yeah, I'm not sure if I told you
guys no longer diabetic anyways, Yeah, I think I'm at
that point where, like, I'm old enough to know that
this is something I want to do, and yet I'm
young enough to still believe I can pull it off.
So yeah, I'm like my own cheerleader. But you know,
I really appreciate you guys listening give me some feedback.
(17:05):
I really do appreciate it. You know. I joke around
how I don't listen to you guys, but you do,
you know, you know I do. I mean, I used
Audacity for first time because somebody said I should use
audacity to get rid of the gaps in my speeches.
But I don't like it. I don't like those gaps,
but you know what, those are my gaps mine. I
(17:26):
don't want to give those up. Kind Of like a
long time ago when AT and T had like those
rollover minutes, and then we decided we're gonna give people
unlimited minutes, and then they go, what about my rollover minutes?
I go, what about your rollover minutes? We're giving you
unlimited minutes, and they go, well, I have so many
rollover minutes. Like sorry, those things don't make sense. They're
not tangible like my gaps. I love them, but I'm
(17:51):
not giving them up. They're mine. I like them. They're
soft and squishy. Why am I making a squishing motion
with my hands. Anyways, I'm going to get back to
doing some running. I'm doing some more editing, and I'm
going to keep you guys in the loop, and please
(18:16):
I if like share, subscribe, I suppose to the show,
but definitely give the give the YouTube channel a look.
It's it's just the demo video up right now, but
I would really appreciate you guys through a subscription on there.
It doesn't cost anything. It doesn't take very long to
(18:36):
click that subscribe button. And if every single one of
you who is listening to this show right now, if
each and every single one of you guys hit that
subscribe button, I would be paid kind of. If you
guys watched the show too, I would definitely get the
subscription limit. But I still need some watch videos. But
(18:59):
so I gotta get those videos out. And yeah, I'm
I'm excited. So I will talk to you guys next
week definitely, and you're definitely going to be hearing more
about this media corporation. I've suddenly started for myself. What
(19:20):
do I have here? I have I had this podcast,
I have the YouTube channel with three separate categories there.
I have a book that's finished that's being edited. I
am starting another book. Actually, i'll tell you about that
one since since I'm excited to share. It's gonna be
(19:43):
kind of a kid's book where it's it's called Wander
rust It's it's a work in progress, but it's about
this kid named Rusty whose mother has to go to
to see her father because he's on his deathbed and
she doesn't want him to go, so she drops him
(20:05):
off with her brother, Rusty's uncle, who's a deadbeat, and
you know he he tries to be a good uncle,
but he's also broke. So Rusty's at his house, his apartment,
and his uncle says, hey, man, I can't take you anywhere,
but like, I can tell you some stories. And so
(20:27):
Rusty's uncle tells him all these amazing stories. Only problem
is his uncle's never done any of these things. His
uncle's just telling him stories that he's experienced in the movies,
in video games, and the shows, in comic books. So
he's just telling them all these fantastical things. And Rusty's
(20:48):
like thinking about these in his head. So it's just, yeah,
it's a kid's book. So I'm not sure how long
that's gonna take him. This once of two years. Listen,
I'm not making Harry Potter money. If I was making
Harry Potter money, i'd be banging these things out. So
(21:08):
I also have that short story from Halloween a couple
of years back. I want to turn that into a
book too, A Man on a Time about Samuel Grayson,
who developed the time machine and realizing that he can
only go backwards to when the time machine was made.
He was a little disappointed about that. That's my theory
(21:29):
is that you can build a time machine, but you
can only go back as far as when that time
machine was built, because there's no other time machine. So
if you built the time machine an hour ago, you
can only go back an hour. So you can go forward.
And what Samuel Grayson did, if you guys haven't heard
the episode, was he went thirty years into the future.
(21:52):
And instead of you know, being in amazement of all
this new technology, this this new place that he's in,
he realizes that he's been declared dead for the last
thirty years. And so his family's moved on with autumn
and it's kind of like a Monkey Paul Wish Toilight
Zone sort of thing. So I've got the first book
(22:15):
is actually a paranormal romance book. Yeah, that's right, I'm
writing a romance book. Or I did write a romance book.
The second book is a kid's fantasy, and the third
book is a sci fi horror. I don't know, but busy, busy,
very busy. And so here's to the rest of twenty
(22:37):
twenty five. Hopefully it's as magical as it's been so
far up until Thanksgiving, where I start feeling the uh,
you know, the great depression all over again until my
birthday is over and then feel good again. So but
we all we all know about that, right, some of
you who new to this, some of you who are
(22:59):
new to this channel, to this podcast. At the start
of Thanksgiving, all the way through Christmas, all the way
the New Year's, all the way through Valentine's Day, my
wife's birthday, Alex's birthday, and then finally my birthday. I
suffer a huge, huge, deep dark depression, crippling, anxiety ridden,
(23:24):
my body is shaking at night or even just having
a breakdown in public. That I keep together pretty well,
but my family knows, and yeah, it's because I had
I had a twin. That's all I can say. I
had a twin. And yeah, so every time there's family
(23:49):
get togethers and things, even funerals, even funerals where I'm
with family, it just gets crippling. And even talking about
it now kind of just stop, see me right in
my tracks. But we will get there. When we get there,
we'll get there together. And if you guys have that problem,
(24:11):
please let me know reach out. I am somebody who
has first hand account of a lot of things anywhere
from you know, going through cooking school, becoming a pretty
successful chef, to attempts at removing myself from this world
(24:38):
and recovering from addiction. All these things. I've been through,
all of it, and I shouldn't have anything else to
be sad about because I've completely hit rock bottom. In fact,
I pushed the rock over and laid in the divot
(24:58):
that it was previously in. So no, I really don't
have anything to be too upset about because I've been
there and the only places up. So always try to
find the positive and everything I suppose I mean, except
for the fact that I still live in Daring your
Hamshire Papa. But but but but light at the end
(25:21):
of the tunnel. If I make it big, I'm shutting
it all down. So if you guys don't hear from me,
if you guys don't hear from me from the podcast,
from the from the videos, from Amazon books, I made
it big, I'm gone. It can be on a boat
in the middle of water, bum fights on the deck.
(25:45):
I don't know, it's crazy, it's crazy, but I'm gonna go.
Got some things to finish up and deciding on what
game to play next. I suppose there's another thing to do,
but other than that, I will see you guys next week.
I appreciate everybody listening. Please subscribe to this show. Please
subscribe to the YouTube channel and link will be in
(26:07):
the description by the way, and I will talk to
you guys later as always, Bye,
