Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey everybody, and welcome back to the blouse af podcast.
I am your host, tour guide, and newly minted author.
No chance of visa. How's everybody doing? How's everybody feeling me?
I am well. I am drinking my important tea from Ceylon.
That's Sri Lanka. That's what Sri Lanka used to be called.
(00:23):
So I saved you a Google. I like my tea black,
no sugar or cream, thank you. So what am I playing? Well?
I am currently playing Jedi Survivor liking it so far.
It's more of the same, but better, if you know
what I mean. I mean nothing was wrong with the
(00:43):
first game. I thought it was great, and the sequel
doubles down on that. I like the lightsaber combat. I
like the new weapons that you can get spoiler alert.
If you don't want to hear spoilers, you can skip
about a minute into the episode and you should be good.
I just got to the part where body gives me
(01:05):
a gun. I'm excited to try it out. Along with
the lightsaber combat. Some people have said that it takes
away from being a Jedi, but I mean we're trying
to survive out here. If you ain't packing in the
outer Rim, you're going to be a victim, so I'm
not gonna be a victim. The story is good so far,
(01:26):
but the pace is a little slow for me. I
think the flow of the first game was a little
bit better because of the sense of danger, and you're
also being hunted, so like you have to keep moving
from place to place. This one has base building, which
I do like. I like a good base building game.
I do like those comfort games you probably know. I
(01:50):
love playing like Animal Crossing. I love playing Stardu Valley
where you're building yourself a home. You're building yourself a
place where other people can show up and do things.
So fall Out four, for example, I liked building settlements
in Fallout four better than I actually liked playing Fallout four,
if that makes any sense. I didn't like Starfield because
(02:15):
in Fallout four, you build a settlement and people just come.
They come and they start working on in the fields,
they start, you know, fixing things, whereas in Starfield you
kind of just go, hey, I'm hiring you and you're
working here, mind me stuff. So I didn't really like
that too much. I didn't really like much of Starfield
(02:37):
at all, to be honest with you. I still play
Fallout four from time to time, lots of things that
I have yet to discover, just like Skyrim. I'll jump
on there every now and then, and there's still things
that I haven't done yet. So I have I think
I reason. I have like three or four different versions
of Skyrim. So a great game. But going back to
(03:01):
Jedi Survivor, I mean it's it's weird because again going
back to that base building game. But if you're quote
unquote the most hunted Jedi in the galaxy, should you
be base building and inviting people to come hang out
your little saloon. I'm just saying, so what am I reading? Well, sorry,
(03:21):
you have a little cold again, you know, back to school,
and even though Alex is homeschool, he's still mingling with kids.
So I am having too sniffle, So I apologize. I
will go I will like lean back or lean away
while I'm sniffling. But I am. I'm not reading anything
right now because I just publish my first book. It's
(03:41):
called The Grove. It is a paranormal romance book, because
that's what's else. Have you seen the amount of moms
at homeschool meetings like Alex's homeschool and I took him
to took him to a playground on a Thursday morning,
and the amount of kids that were playing at that
(04:03):
playground when they should be at school because they're homeschooled.
And yeah, like the amount of moms that are just
there at the playground. They're not paying attention to their kids.
They're on their phone or tablet, eat reader or reading novels.
(04:23):
And it's a The book itself is about a down
on his luck guy named Steven who finds out his
girlfriend is pregnant on the very same day he loses
his job, so, not having a dollar to his name,
he decides to abandon them instead. So Steven is not
(04:44):
a very good person. He eventually gets a job as
a forest ranger and patrols an old around an old
oak tree that becomes famous thanks to social media for
nefarious reasons, and one night he meets a mysterious woman
and buy my book. If you want to find out
(05:07):
more by my book, the link will be in the description.
So Tonight's main topic, hold on, step away sniff. Tonight's
main topic. We did it. The lease is signed and
we are moving out of this apartment. November first, It
(05:30):
is across town, but far enough away for Alex to
be able to attend a better school should Mary decide
she can't handle home schooling him anymore. It was her idea,
and I'm being very supportive. I'm being a very supportive husband.
And if she decides you should go back to school,
then I'll support that as well. He should go back
(05:50):
to school. It's entirely up to her. I support her wholeheartedly,
like he's doing very well at homeschool. And then when
it's my day to take him out when she has
to go to work, then we go out. We explore,
We go to science places, we go to playgrounds, we
keep active. So it's not like we're sitting home on
(06:12):
TV and video games, but it is. It is bittersweet
in a way. I mean, we're leaving the only home
Alex has ever known. The sloth details that we put
up in his nursery are still up. We've made so
(06:32):
many memories here, but it is a necessary move. And again,
for the money that we're paying here, we can have grass,
we can have a pool in the summer. It's a
smoke free building. I can go for a walk with
him without cars blowing by. Trying to see how fast
it can go because there's a speed sign next to
(06:56):
the building. There's parking. No more random cars parked here
with young girls dating old creeps for drugs. As far
as I know, the walls are thicker, so I don't
have to hear rotund, foul mouth kids calling each other
the N word while they are wider than the first
(07:17):
fruit of the loom that you pull out of the package.
So while I miss this place, of course, I mean
like any vehicle I've ever owned that's tried to kill me,
this place does have character. I mean it holds moments
I can never relive bringing Alex home, changing his diaper
(07:37):
for the first time, feeding and burping him while watching
him he confused faces, watching him crawl around on his
own and exploring, watching him walk, and he eventually running
lab to himself until real words come out. So all
of those things happened here, and I'll cherish every single
(07:59):
one of those memories until they escaped me. I bought
a switch to I M A PS five so I
can play video games with my son. Expensive, of course
they were. I mean I can always make that money back.
A laughter, a triumph losses. I mean I can only
(08:21):
get September fourteen, twenty twenty five at seven oh eight pm,
just once. So here's the new adventures. Here's two twenty
twenty five, what's left of it. It has been a cluster.
But you know what, we grew up in tougher times.
We grew up in scarier times than this, So we
(08:44):
are definitely going to be okay. I mean, I have Mary,
I have Alex, I have my parents. That's all I
really need to be honest with you. I mean, I
have people I can reach out to when times are tough,
and I have reached out to those people when times
are tough. And so I have been staying busy, obviously,
(09:05):
you guys see that. And so I'll keep you guys
updated obviously because this is Loos's number one podcast in
New Hampshire. And yeah, I really don't have much going
on this week because I'm just so exhausted. I mean,
the channel is still the YouTube channel is still a thing.
(09:27):
I've gotten about three videos ready to go. I'm not
going to release them right away because algorithm and so
the YouTube channel, this podcast, the book by the book,
who was the who was that guy? Oh Man? Now
it's escaping me. I hate that John Lovett's the critic.
(09:52):
I'm not sure if you guys, most of you are
probably too young to know who the critic is. But
it was a short lived cartoon on five, I believe. Yeah, yeah,
it was still like the same drawing style as as
The Simpsons, almost and John Lovetz plays a critic and
at one point in the in the show, he writes
(10:13):
a book and it's one of those things that I
remember for the rest of my life. I might not
remember birthdays or anniversaries, but I remember John Lovitz's character
and he makes a little cut out and it's just
over and over. Just buy my book, by my book,
by my book, and then like one of his best
(10:34):
friends shoots it, and uh yeah, I'll remember that for
the rest of my life. So buy my book. It's
available in e book form and in paperback. I don't
like hardcover. She never did, and they're expensive, and so yeah,
give it a give it a check, let me know
(10:56):
what you think. I would really like to hear what
you guys think. And if you guys are local, hey,
meet up with me. I'll sign it. If you buy
a paper book paperback, here go, I will sign it.
It is a first edition, and you'll know me before
I become like the next JK. Rowling or something, minus
the racism and the and the and the transphobia. I'm
(11:20):
all I'm cool with that. So yeah, that that's really
all I got. Just a quick update, and I hope
you guys are well today or not today. But this month,
this entire month is suicide Awareness month. So please check
in on your friends. Check out on yourself. You know,
(11:41):
if you're not feeling good, if you're not right, and
you know you're not right because you know yourself more
than anybody. Check in with people. You know, if you
haven't heard from somebody in a long time, check out
on them. I said, twenty twenty five is the year
that I check in on people who check in on me,
and I do do that. So yeah, September Suicide Prevention Month,
(12:06):
Awareness month. I've said it before. I've had my own
battles with my demons and I still do to this day.
This morning was my last one, so I'm still I'm
still recovering. I'm still I'm always going to be recovering.
But as long as you know, as long as you
(12:30):
know that there's always something to look forward to. Then
there'll be light there. So if you haven't heard the
episode before, check out very early episode. It's called Brooks
was here. And if you guys know what that means,
then you obviously know what it's about. And it's helped
(12:52):
a lot of people. It's helped me. I've listened to
it a few times now. It is triggering to some people,
so please go in with caution and yeah, let me know,
let me know what you think about that episode, let
me know what you think about any of the episodes.
I haven't heard some feedback in quite some time. I
(13:14):
mean last time I heard a good amount of feedback
was when I went on my rant and people were
wondering if I'm okay? I am? I am still I'm
still good. So I think that's it. It's just a quick,
quickie update, and I appreciate you guys for listening. I
appreciate you guys for hanging out. I will appreciate you
in advance for buying my book and subscribing to the
(13:36):
YouTube channel, which should be debuting sometime next week. It'll
probably be a hard launch and so very little fanfare,
but it will again. All the links will be in
the description, so please subscribe, please buy the book, and
I will see you guys next week. As always, Bob Binyall,
(13:59):
See you guys by
