SPEAKER_01 (00:12):
Welcome, welcome to
the Buddy Foy Junior Show.
Wow, folks, the spiritualwarfare continues.
The demonic world we're livingin is on full display.
And here we are again, justfighting the spiritual battle.
And I had I'm in Florence,Italy.
My wife and I have been intraveling Europe.
(00:32):
We're in um France for a couplefor about a week.
We're now in Florence, and todaywe did a little tourism.
We did a little museum tour.
And I did not think I would havethe spiritual day that I had.
I've been on this journey.
I'm trying to remain in thepresence of God, which is almost
(00:54):
impossible all day long, becausewe're all just just, I'm a
wretched man.
The world just grabs me in.
And I've expressed my lastpodcast how affected I was by
witnessing the marches inBarcelona, the young kids
wearing or are carryinganti-Israel signs, Jewish
(01:15):
hatred.
And I've just never seen apeople in my lifetime be um
villainized and attacked basedoff of government policies,
whether they agree or not agree.
Let's just call it the Israelgovernment, and just how people
(01:35):
are going after Jews.
And I didn't see Jews go afterPalestinians because of the
Hamas infiltration and completebrutal assassination on October
7th, of putting babies in ovens, beating women to death, filming
it, and having it on fulldisplay.
But when Israel responds as agovernment to this atrocity, the
(02:00):
Jewish people throughout theworld are villainized.
And I'm just, I don't know whatkind of world we live in.
I've been meditating on it,witnessing the Barcelona, Spain
protests of tens of thousands ofpeople, young eight-year-olds
marching with anti-Jew signs.
It's just, you know, it's had animpact on me.
I talked about in the lastepisode.
(02:21):
And it really comes down to whatI've been talking about with
spiritual warfare.
And uh when I bring up thescripture, I've been pounding
Isaiah 5.20.
Woe to those who call good eviland evil good.
Actually, I got that backwards.
I'm dyslexic.
(02:42):
Woe to those who call evil goodand good evil, who put darkness
for light and light fordarkness, who put better for
sweet and sweet for better.
This, if I had to replay allthis in your head, Israel gets
attacked, they respond, Jews arebad.
Meanwhile, the same people arestanding up for Ukraine because
(03:05):
they're attacked by Russia.
No one's posting anyone dying inthe war that continues between
Russia and Ukraine, but theyattack the Jews.
And just through all my journeybiblically and reading all of
the books I've been reading thatthe pastors are giving me, it's
(03:25):
just history repeats itself.
God's chosen people arepersecuted over and over and
over again.
And we're living in it.
We're living in Old Testamenttimes, we're living in a
revealing of spiritual warfare.
And spiritual warfare to me wassomething I learned when I dove
(03:46):
into and read the Bible andstarted reading supplemental
materials, where the heavenlyrealm and the evil realm, the
light and the dark, are in fulldisplay all around us.
And back thousands of years ago,you could see it.
However, culturally, it's beenso diluted out of our existence,
(04:12):
and mainly because we probablybecome more demonic and demonic
behaviors more normalized.
We don't see this light anddarkness at war on earth in a
spiritual sense, in our verypresence, in our very
surroundings.
(04:34):
But here we are, we are in themiddle of the spiritual warfare.
And today I was uh we're inwe're in um Florence, Italy, and
my day took a little bit more ofa spiritual journey than I
thought it would.
And I've been struggling withwhat to talk about this week,
and it hit me in the middle ofan exhibit.
Jen and I, my wife, went to theGallery della Accademia, and on
(04:59):
display were artists,sculptures, paintings, busts,
and Michael D'Angelo being thefamous artist that he was was
the main exhibit.
The statue of David in thecenter as you entered the room
(05:20):
to the left, turn right, and ahundred yards away is this
massive statue of David in itsperfection and glory.
And I never understood thatMichelangelo in of his time
understood spiritual warfare.
And I wonder why they understoodspiritual warfare back then.
(05:45):
And today, my DMs, my messages, there's a lot of confusion
around spiritual warfare and thefact that the spirits are at war
amongst us.
And seeing his creation of theprisoners, which are statues of
these big marble displays, andthey're prisoners, they're
(06:10):
prisoners of their spiritualbattle, they're not fully
formed, they're not in aglorious um kind of man
sculpture.
They are almost busting out of arock, some further through the
busting through the marble thanothers.
(06:31):
Some have a developed chest, developed arms, distorted faces,
one has a beard, and it's theprisoners.
And the point of the exhibit isuh based on the audio that we
were listening to, is thatMichelangelo sculpted these, and
they may look unf they may lookunfinished, unfinished, um,
(06:54):
unfinished art.
However, he considered themfinished, because it's
displaying our spiritual battlewithin all of us, and how we're
just not there.
Our our full being, our fullgodly potential is just not
developed.
(07:15):
And in the cases of theprisoners, some more than
others, but none of them to thegrand of the Statue of David.
And I never looked at the Statueof David the way I did today, in
context or in contrast to theprisoners.
I knew the star, the Statue ofDavid was just beautiful, a
(07:37):
beautiful work of art of itstime and the skill set of
Michael Angelo.
But today, seeing it with theprisoners in their spiritual
breakthrough or trying to breakthrough, and then boom, the
glory of David.
And it hit me in myinterpretation of the statue of
(08:00):
David in The Artist is thatDavid was not that muscular
being.
(08:55):
The reality is that's far fromthe stature, which David was.
And there's a write-up sayingpeople argued whether that was
before or after he slayedGoliath.
I don't think I think that'sirrelevant.
I believe that the statue andMichelangelo's preception of
David was one of a spiritualenlightenment.
(09:18):
So if you look at the prisonersthat aren't fully formed and
are, you really can't make themout.
One you can make out that he'sgot a beard, one you can make
out that he's got a big chest, big arms, but none of them are a
full figure as far as fullydeveloped.
But yet, here's David in fulldisplay with these large feet
and these incredible details ofthe hands and the slingshot.
(09:40):
And David just looks like alooks like a warrior.
And the reality was he was not awarrior.
That's why the Lord chose him.
He was of humble heart.
And I'm going to read you Samuelchapter 16 in a minute.
But I believe Michelangelounderstood spiritual warfare.
(10:00):
He understood the spiritualbattle we're in, where we are as
um where we are in the ourjourney or in our ability or our
potential.
There it is, our potentialspiritually.
And we're all just like thesehalf-sculpted figures versus
David, who was a man after God'sown heart.
(10:24):
And the sculpture thatMichelangelo creates shows this
incredibly strong presence of awarrior.
And that's what David's spiritwas.
And it's amazing thatMichelangelo of his time
understood spiritual battles.
(10:45):
And he proves it in the statuesof the prisoners and then David.
This complete contrast of wherewe are spiritually in the battle
of the realms, heavenly and thedarkness, the evil.
So let me read you Samuelchapter 16.
(11:09):
The Lord said to Samuel, Howlong will you mourn for Saul?
Since I have rejected him asking over Israel.
Fill your horn with oil and beon your way.
I am sending you to see Jesse ofBethlehem.
I have chosen one of his sons tobe the king.
(11:29):
But Saul said, How can I go?
If Saul hears about it, he willkill me.
The Lord said, Take a heiferwith you and say, I come to
sacrifice to the Lord.
Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do.
You are to anoint for me the oneI indicate.
(11:51):
So Samuel did what the Lordsaid.
When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town they
trembled when they met him.
Why?
asked, Do you come in peace?
Samuel replied, Yes, in peace.
I have come to sacrifice to theLord.
Consecrate yourself to come tothe sacrifice with me.
(12:14):
Then he consecrated Jesse andhis sons and invited them to the
sacrifice.
When he arrived, Samuel saw Aleband thought, Surely the Lord
anointed one stands here beforeme.
But the Lord said to Samuel, Donot consider his appearance or
his height, for I have rejoicedrejected him.
(12:37):
The Lord does not look at thingsthat people look at.
People look at the outerlyappearance, but the Lord looks
at the heart.
Now let's get back to the statueof David and Michelangelo's
creation and his giganticmuscular figure.
(12:58):
This is what I'm referring to.
That wasn't David.
David wasn't this warrior.
It's proof right here in Samuel16.
So what I'm trying to bringforth here is why did
Michelangelo, centuries ago,understand spiritual warfare,
and you fast forward to today, and there's this mass confusion
(13:22):
or this ignorance or ignoring ofthe spiritual battles that are
before us in our very realm onearth, the heavenly realm and
the demonic realm, at war forour souls, our attention, and
our bandwidth.
(13:43):
Why did Michelangelo understandthat when he was creating these
sculptures of the prisoners thatshowed the lack of potential and
then the full display ofconquering the spiritual realm
and being in the heavenly realmin a relationship in the
presence of God through theStatue of David?
Now let's get back.
(14:11):
The Lord does not look at thethings that people look at.
People look at the outlyappearance, but the God, but the
but God, the Lord, looks at theheart.
Then Jesse called Abinada andhad him pass in front of Samuel.
But Samuel said, The Lord didnot, the Lord has not chosen
(14:32):
this one either.
Jesse then had Shema pass by,but Samuel said, Nor has the
Lord chosen this one.
Jesse had seven of his sons passbefore Samuel, but Samuel said
to him, The Lord does not choosethese.
So he asked Jesse, Are these allthe sons you have?
(14:55):
They're still the youngest,Jesse answered.
He is tending the sheep.
Samuel said, Send for him.
He will not sit down until hearrives.
Samuel said, Send for him.
We will not sit down until hearrives.
So he sent for him and had himbrought in.
(15:16):
He was glowing with health andhad a fine appearance and a
handsome feature.
Then the Lord said, Rise andanoint him.
This is the one.
So Samuel took the horn of oiland anointed him in the presence
of the brothers.
And from that day on, the Spiritof the Lord came powerfully upon
(15:39):
David.
Samuel then went to Raham.
Amazing.
In my day today, I have no ideathat I'd walk into the museum
and see these prisoners, thesculptures called the prisoner
prisoners, as we walk down inthe center in between the
(16:00):
prisoners, and to be unveiledthe beauty of the statue of
David.
And there's your spiritualwarfare.
The demonic realm still had agrip on the prisoners.
Whereas David, in his full gloryand in the heart of God, well,
(16:23):
he had a relationship with God,he was in the presence of God,
and he was a fallen man.
David slept with Bathsheba, seesthis gorgeous woman on the roof.
These are things that I'velearned, okay, folks?
I'm not preaching anything.
I'm just sharing things thatI've learned that have blown my
mind.
King David is sitting there onhis roof, sees Bathsheba
showering, and gets filled withlust.
(16:46):
So this man has conquered thespiritual realms, as far as the
sculpture of the statue of Davidand in all of its glory, sees a
woman he's attracted to andeventually has her, gets her
pregnant.
It's his number one general andgood friend's wife.
He has to send the friend off towar to the front lines in order
(17:10):
to not return.
In other words, get killed inbattle, put him in a dangerous
position in order to hide thepregnancy of Bathsheba.
And out of that comes KingSolomon.
Her son was King Solomon.
So in this webblock or in thisuh adultery, in this adultery
(17:30):
relationship, adulteryrelationship comes King Solomon,
the wisest man that ever lived.
I mean, the Bible is just filledwith these curveballs, left,
right, and center.
And, you know, first you learnthat Paul's a murderer, then he
becomes the largest contributorto the New Testament and just on
fire for Jesus Christ.
Moses kills an Egyptian, flees, goes on Mount Sinai, runs into
(17:53):
the Lord, blah, blah, blah, blah, comes back, frees the
Jews, goes on a 40-year journeythrough the desert.
And then King David, in theglory of God, a man after God's
own heart, is somebody who sleptwith another man's wife, and
then had that man killed.
It's just so check this out.
(18:15):
Samuel chapter 2, chapter 11.
I'm sorry, 2 Samuel chapter 11.
I'm gonna jump to verse 2.
One evening, David got up fromhis bed and walked around the
roof from the palace.
From the roof, he saw a womanbathing.
(18:36):
The woman was very beautiful.
And David sent someone to findout about her.
The man said, she is Bathsheba, the daughter of Helm, Elm, and
wife of Ura, the Hiti.
Then David sent messengers toget her.
She came to him and he sleptwith her.
(18:57):
Now she was purifying herselffrom her monthly uncleanliness.
Then she went back home.
The woman conceived.
The woman conceived and sentword to David saying, I am
pregnant.
So David sent this word to Job.
Send Joab, send Uriah, who'sBathsheba's husband, the Haiti,
(19:21):
and Job sent him to David.
When Uriah came to him, Davidasked him how Joab was, how the
soldiers were, and how the warwas going.
Then David said to Uriah, Godown to your house and wash your
feet.
So Uriah left the palace and agift for the king was sent after
(19:44):
him.
So uh let's see, Uriah left thepalace and a gift from the king
was sent after him.
But Uriah slept at the entranceof the palace with all his
master servants and did not godown to his house.
David was told Uriah did not gohome.
So he asked Uriah, haven't youjust come from a military
(20:07):
campaign?
Why didn't you go home?
Uriah said, David, the Ark andIsrael and Judah are staying in
tents, and my commander, Joab, and my lord's men are camped in
the open country.
How could I go home to my houseto eat and drink and make love
(20:28):
to my wife?
As surely as you live, I willnot do such a thing.
So David tried deceiving thissoldier, Urah, to go home and
sleep with Bathsheba to cover upDavid's transgressions.
Then David said to him, Stayhere one more day, and tomorrow
(20:48):
I'll send you back.
So Uriah remained in Jerusalemthat day and the next.
At David's invitation, he ateand drank with him, and David
made him drunk.
But in the evening, Uriah wentout to sleep on his mat among
his master servants.
He did not go home.
In the morning, David wrote aletter to Job and sent it with
(21:11):
Uriah.
In it he wrote, put Uriah out infront where the fighting is
fierced or fiercest.
Then withdraw from him, so hewill be struck down and die.
So while Joab had the city undersiege, he put Uriah at a place
where he knew he would bestrongest, where the strongest
(21:33):
defenders were.
When the men of the city cameout and fought against Joab,
some of the men in David's armyfell.
Moreover, Uriah, the Hittiti,died.
The Hitti died.
Joab sent David a full accountof the battle.
He instructed the messenger,When you have finished giving
the king this account of thebattle, the king's anger may
(21:56):
flare up, and he may ask you,Why did you get this close to
the city's fight?
Don't you know they would didn'tyou know they would shoot arrows
from the wall?
Who killed Amalkin's son of dragof Jorub Beth?
Didn't a woman drop an uppermillstone on him from the wall
(22:20):
so that he died in Thebes?
So he's talking about somehistorical stuff of battles.
Why did you get so close to thewall?
If he asks this, then you say tohim, Moreover, your servant
Uriah, the Hitti is dead.
So the point is, David set thiswhole thing up in order to cover
(22:41):
a transgression.
Yeah! David is made in the imageof God.
Let's look at Acts 13 22.
1322.
After removing Saul, he madeDavid their king.
God testified concerning him.
I have found David, son ofJesse, a man after my own heart.
(23:03):
He will do everything I want Iwant him to do.
So biblically, the Lord sawDavid as a man after his own
heart.
Yet David got a woman pregnant,he committed adultery, had a
person set up for murderpurposefully to hide his
(23:26):
transgressions and cover up acrime of adultery.
Yet David was a man after God'sown heart.
The point is, we need to getback to the Bible.
There's nothing that we've done, there's nothing that we can do
to turn God away from us.
Jesus Christ is our Lord andSavior.
(23:47):
We were put on this earth forrelationship with God, and we
have got to stop apologizing forit.
We got to get on this journey toget closer to our creator.
Otherwise, invasions of Israelwill look normal.
Otherwise, women competingagainst men, competing against
women and women's sports willbecome normalized.
(24:08):
Otherwise, the demonic partywill become mainstream once
again, and God will be pushedinto the corner of our homes.
Folks, get out of the corner, get off the porch, get in a
public square, own your faith, build your relationship with God
(24:32):
in Jesus Christ through dailyreading, praying over our food,
praying for our children, goingto church, being in community.
I'm a sinner, I'm a wretchedman, but the reality is reading
the Bible and being aroundgospel music and people of our
Christian music and people ofthe Bible has made me a better
(24:52):
person, has put me on thisjourney, and our world needs it
for all of us.
Stop staying silent.
They have diluted Christianityin our world.
America was founded on godlyprinciples.
It doesn't make any sense for usto be here, to be a free nation
as we are, without God's hand orAmerica in the center of his
(25:16):
palm.
Stop apologizing.
Encourage your kids, young menand women out there, biblical.
Be biblical.
Don't be embarrassed.
Be biblical.
Don't be perfect, because noneof us are.
I just took you through anaccount of David sleeping with a
woman, having an adulterousrelationship, creating a murder
(25:36):
of her husband to cover up thepregnancy, blah, blah, blah,
blah.
We are an imperfect species.
However, we have got to starthaving a relationship with our
Creator, Jesus Christ, God, theHoly Spirit, the Trinity.
We got to get back to thoseroots, and they need to happen
(25:57):
now.
Otherwise, what kind of world dowe live in?
And here's what I want to playyou.
I want to play you a song to endthis podcast and reflect on it
for the week.
