From an empty-nester European getaway to a spiritual jolt in a Turkish mosque — this episode is the turning point.

Buddy recounts how a simple stop at the House of the Virgin Mary turned into one of the most unexpected, eye-opening conversations of his life. A bold Turkish tour guide, a plaque quoting the Quran about Jesus and Mary, and a candid dialogue about faith, idolatry, extremism, and hypocrisy set the stage for a powerful revelation.

In this episode, Buddy dives into:

  • His emotional visit to Mary’s House in Ephesus
  • The Quran passages about Jesus and Mary that stunned him
  • A raw, respectful conversation with a Muslim guide who had read the Bible cover to cover
  • How Christians appear to Muslims — and the hard mirror moment Buddy had to face
  • Why public faith in Turkey convicted him about private faith in America
  • The dangers of spiritual division, religious superiority, and taking the devil’s bait
  • Why America resembles Revelation 2’s warning to the church in Ephesus:
“You have abandoned your first love.”
  • A call for repentance, courage, public prayer, and a return to biblical living
  • How to start today: noon prayer alarms, public habits of faith, church attendance, and leading your family spiritually
  • And why America needs a revival fueled not by politics — but by bold, everyday believers

This one is raw. Honest. Challenging. And hopeful.

If you’re ready to live your faith out loud — start here.

SPEAKER_00 (00:12):
Folks, welcome.
Welcome to the Buddy for JuniorShow.
I'm back on U.S.
soil.
For those of you that are justjoining, check out some last
episodes.
My wife and I did an emptynestor tour all over Europe.
We hit Istanbul also, and thenback to America.
Barcelona, Italy, France,Turkey.
And I had an incredible journey.

(00:33):
What started off as an emptynestor marriage retreat turned
into a rekindling, turned into aspiritual sledgehammer.
I mean these spiritualrevelations and experiences and
encounters that hit me in thehead like a sledgehammer, all
for the right reasons.
And we're going to unpack thathere today.

(00:54):
We've been unpacking it and wewill continue to unpack my
experience.
Before we continue with myin-gensed experience at the
Virgin Mary's house in anencounter with the tour guide, I
want to share something andclarify the air.

(01:16):
Are you an Islamic?
Listen, folks, I am a Christian.
I believe in the divinity ofJesus Christ.
The only way I think otherwiseis if Jesus Christ himself comes
down, touches me on the head, and tells me otherwise.
Okay?
So let's just clear the air andleave it there.
Now, let me take you to thejourney at Mary's house.

(01:38):
We're driving.
Now there's 12 of us, it's asmall vanaton intimate group.
This tour guide, rough and toughdude, dude's no joke.
No joke.
He is looking and talking, andwe're going.
We get to Mary's house, and thewhole time I'm thinking, is this
guy a Muslim or a Christian?
We get to Mary's property.
He tells us what to do.
He gives us half an hour.
Jen and I go to the house.

(02:00):
We walk through.
My wife starts crying.
She's very emotional.
I'm feeling it.
I'm feeling the spirit.
I'm being inspired.
I walk out, I see a plaque.
I read it.
Can I read it to you, folks?
This is a plaque outside inthree languages.
We give Jesus, son of Mary, theclear signs and confirm him with

(02:23):
the Holy Spirit.
Quran, chapter 2, verse 87 and253.
Mary, God has chosen thee andpurified thee.
He has chosen thee above allwomen.
Quran chapter 3, verse 42.
Mary, God gives the good tidingsof a word from him whose name is

(02:45):
Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary.
High honored shall be in thisworld and the next.
Near station to God.
Chapter 3, verse 45.
Quran.
So folks, I'm not schooled inthe Quran.

(03:08):
I get out of there.
I'm confused.
And my wife knows, man, whenit's in my head, I'm on a
mission.
I say, where's the John?
Have you seen you see him?
Do you see the tour guide?
She says, Yeah, I think he'sdown there.
He said he'd be at the at thehead of the parking lot.
Because he gave us all half anhour.
So she goes and continues herthing, their shops and whatnot.
And I go down and I find him.

(03:28):
He's drinking tea.
Now I fully know that a littlebit of the Turkish culture is
enjoyed over tea.
So I approach him.
By the way, folks, I'm not adove.
I don't wear velvet gloves.
I'm approaching him like agorilla.
Okay, I'm a gorilla.
I sometimes even sound like agorilla.
Sometimes I even look like one.

(03:49):
And I approach him in this NewYork, you know, bravada, and I
say, look, it, can I talk to youfor a second?
First of all, where'd you getthe tea?
He brings me, we get the tea.
As we're drinking the tea, Ilean into him and I ask him, Are
you a Christian or are you aMuslim?
He says, I'm a Muslim.

(04:11):
I said, is there anything I cando to convince you of Jesus
Christ?
He goes, convince me?
What that he's real?
I know Jesus Christ is real.
He goes, buddy, I just don'tbelieve.
He goes, can't let me can'tteach you some things.
I said, let's have aconversation.
Because I just walked outsideMary's house.
I read an excerpt plaque.
And you guys have the VirginMary in the Quran.
We need to unpack this.

(04:32):
And I need to understand howyou're not Christian when you
give tours of Christian sitesall year long.
And we dove in, folks.
We dove in.
He asked me, first of all, haveyou read the Quran?
I said, I just read an excerptof it.
We laughed.
He goes, Well, I've read yourbook.
I've read the Bible.
I've read the Old Testament, theNew Testament, cover to cover.
I've read the Quran.
I've studied ancient Greekhistory and I understand the

(04:54):
paganist of the past.
So this is the conversationyou're getting the buddy.
I said, okay, rock and roll.
Let's go there.
He goes, all right, first ofall, by the way, my Catholic
friends listening to this, don'tbe offended.
I'm sharing you a conversation Ihad to learn, to learn about how
this faith has grown so quickly.
Not through me um loving theirtheology, but through me being

(05:19):
completely enthralled by theircommitment, their consistency,
their their lifestyle ofconstant prayer as a community
and outward-facing communitiesand the public.
So he says, We believe thatJesus Christ existed.

(05:43):
He was not crucified, but he wasascendant.
We believe he's a prophet.
We believe somebody else tookhis position to um fool, okay,
to pull a quick one over on theauthorities.
And it was not Jesus on ourcross.
Jesus was taken up to heaven.
He the Lord, our creator, Allah, would never become man.

(06:05):
He's just too an all-powerful.
So okay.
Um you're wrong.
What can I do to convince youotherwise?
Since you're read my book, youread the Jesus' book, you read
the Bible.
He says, Okay, well, let me canI just share a few things with
you?
He says, sure.
He says, when you leave Mary'shouse, what are your people
doing that we give tours to, 80million of them every year

(06:27):
throughout our country?
And the majority of them areChristian.
What are you all doing when youleave these tours?
Meanwhile, I'm looking around,folks.
People are carrying bags, it'sgot merchandise in it.
And he stops me.
He goes, Have you ever been to amosque?
I said, Yes, in fact, two ofthem in Istanbul.
And the experience was quite umrevealing and frankly inspiring

(06:48):
on how open you all are.
And I I'm changing my, I'm gonnastart being as open, which is
why I'm having this conversationwith you, with my Christian
faith, in public.
And he says, okay.
He goes, so you know there's nosigns, there's no pictures,
there's no idols anywhere in ain a mosque.
I said, yes, I'm aware of that.

(07:09):
I'm aware that these mosques areold Christian churches, Catholic
churches that you all conquered.
You put plaster and mosaic tileover the paintings and the
drawings of Mary, of Jesus, ofthe apostles.
He says, Yes.
I only know this, folks, becauseof the tours I took of museums,
etc., and then being in a mosquein a live environment.

(07:31):
So he says, okay, so you allleave the Mary's house and our
our historic, your historichistory, and you go purchase
these statues, these paintings,these idols.
And it kind of hit me.
I said, okay.
I go, I'm not sure I'm agreeingwith you, but I'm tracking with

(07:51):
your point of view.
He says, all right, so you wantme to convert to believing that
Jesus Christ is divine, and youwalk around here buying idols
when your book and my book say,Thou shalt not worship an idol.
I said, okay.
That's an interestingperspective.
I'm on board with you.
Let's let's continue.
I said, but you do know not allChristians have idol, what you

(08:16):
consider to be idol worshipinside their house.
He goes, No, but the CatholicChurch is the dominant force and
it's your microphone.
And we need to dive into that inthis conversation.
I said, perfect.
So as the dialogue went on, weyou know he showed me how to
read the Quran properly, gave mesome advice, what book to get,
uh, what to look for.

(08:36):
And it was it was a great backand forth, folks.
And in the middle of it, Iturned to him, I said, okay, I
have one more for you.
And he, like I said, folks, hesaw me coming from Newark
Airport.
He said, I already know whatyou're gonna ask me.
Why do people in caves inAfghanistan, for example, read

(08:57):
my book, my Quran, walk out andbehead and murder people?
I said, Yeah.
Because, buddy, I can't answerthat question on where they see
it in my book because it doesn'tsay it anywhere in my book.
It does not say that anywhere inmy book, unless you take it out
of context.
Now, I'm gonna read it, so Ididn't want to argue with him.
I just wanted to have a dialogueto understand where his head's

(09:19):
at and where his people's head'sat.
So I said, okay.
I go, um, and he turns to me andhe says, by the way, I want to
be perfectly clear.
The devil is clever.
He knows how to infiltrate youand your faith.
He knows how to infiltrate meand my faith.
He knows my book better than meand 50 Muslims behind me, and he

(09:43):
knows your book better than youand 50 Christians behind you.
The devil knows how toinfiltrate both of our
theologies and the people who dothings in the name of this book.
The devil tricks them and hewants to divide me and you.
And I agree, folks.
Like I'm on board with all this.

(10:04):
I think he does it politically,I think he does it with
theology, he does it witheverything.
So he turns to me and says, I'llgive you an example.
Christian crusaders, yourChristian, early Christian
converts going around to pagansand murdering them and burning

(10:25):
them inside of their worshiphouses if they don't convert.
And he goes, and the mother ofall in your generation, the
cloth in children.
I said, Okay, I got it.
He goes, I'm just talking,buddy.
We're having a conversation asgentlemen, and hypocrisy is an

(10:45):
issue, the devil's an issue, andwe need to understand that we
have facets of our leadership,of our people who do things in
the name of your God and of myGod, which we believe is the
same God.
Allah in Arabic means God.

(11:06):
A Christian, he shared it withme.
A Christian, you go to Arayah, you go to an Arab nation and
they speak Arabic.
I may be getting that a littlebit wrong, but they speak
Arabic.
They will, you say, hey,Christian, who's God?
Allah.
You go, so we're we're sayingGod, like you are, and went
through the similarities.
And I gotta tell you, it waseye-opening, folks.

(11:29):
It was completely uh inspiring.
And I say this and I share thisbecause I believe we as a
country, we need to be carefulof the bait we take.
We need to be careful of theenemies we make.
We need to be careful of ouridol worship.
And folks, more than anything,we need to turn and repent and
get back to our Christianvalues.

(11:51):
I spoke of Revelations chaptertwo, which I was inspired to
talk about last week at Ephesus, where the apostle John was uh
was removed from the city, wasexiled, and that's where he came
up with the vision and he wasvisited and he wrote the book of
Revelations and he turned toEphesus and he said, You lost

(12:13):
your first love.
You're doing all these otherthings right, but your heart is
in the wrong place.
Folks, that's America.
We need to repent and turn backto our first love.
The hand of God was on thefoundation of our founding.
Our Jude Christian values needto be turned back into and

(12:35):
leaned into, folks.
We need to repent, we need toget back to our ways, and the
Islam faith growing faster onour world, that should wake us
up.
Not to envy their beliefs, butto learn from their boldness,
their consistency, okay, whilewe get back to the truth in
knowing Christ.

(12:58):
That's it, folks.
We need to repent and get backto our Christian values.
And we can learn throughobservation of what we might
consider the enemy.
Perhaps there's a little bitmore in common that we have with
each other than we don't.
And we can not take debate onthe devil's division in

(13:23):
distracting us in war, infighting, in this division,
instead, focus on our own house, focus on our own families, focus
on our own communities, andfocus on our belief system

(13:44):
penetrating the marketplace, penetrating the public square,
us getting out of our closet andcoming out to the public, us
practicing and putting forth ourjourney towards Christ.
And if we do it as a nation, westart as a family, we then build

(14:07):
to a community, we then roll itout together.
And we can return to ourcreator, and we can take back
the demonic spirits within ourcountry.
That's what I'm suggesting here.
We may not have the five callsto prayer blasting all over our

(14:31):
communities, because that's whatI heard in Turkey, everywhere I
was.
And instead of being insulted byit, be inspired by it.
What I mean by that is, what arewe doing to remind ourselves to
pray?
How about we do this?
I got a call to action.
How about tomorrow and every dayyou set your alarm for noon?

(14:51):
Stop what you're doing, thankJesus Christ, thank our creator.
If you're Jewish, thank yourcreator, which we have in
common.
Thank him for something,anything.
Then pray for someone.
Let's practice living out loud, our faith.
It's uncomfortable, it'sdifferent.

(15:12):
We've put Jesus in a closet,we've hidden in another one.
Well, let's get out of it.
Practice it.
Pray for someone.
You can do this privately.
And then just one day a week, pray over your meal in public.
Pray over it in public.
Get uncomfortable, folks.

(15:34):
Get uncomfortable.
And folks, we got to get tochurch.
This CEO program needs to beblown up.
Christian Easter only.
Christmas Easter only.
That's over.
We got to be going to church, ifnot once a week, twice a week,

(15:57):
midweek Bible study, or get in agroup.
We cannot outlaw, we cannotoutlaw the spread of Islam that
fears us, which it shouldn'tfear us if we learn about it,
folks.
We are a country freedom ofreligion, not freedom from
religion.
But we can out-repent, we canout-pray, we can out-worship, we

(16:20):
can out-attend, and we canout-be public.
Because that's what the Lordexpects of us.
I'll put a scripture below inthe description that justifies
what I'm saying right now.
Ladies and gentlemen, there is amovement going on with our
youth.
There are football teams givingthemselves to Christ.

(16:42):
There is an outward, boldlymovement sparked through Charlie
Kirk and his assassination thatwe can lead into, we can provide
energy to, we can advance alongwith the movement or not.
Young folks, you that loveTikTok and love trending and

(17:06):
want to be trending, and youhave FOMO, the biggest FOMO you
should be worried about rightnow is that you're missing out
if you're not involved in aChristian movement.
You're missing out in a Godopportunity that your generation
is sparking all over the world.
So there's your FOMO, kids.

(17:26):
If your parents ain't, isn't orif your parents aren't
encouraging you, you drag themto church.
Ladies and gentlemen, thank youfor listening.
Don't take the bait.
Get back to church.
Pray daily.
Pray over your food.
And let's get this country backon track.

(17:46):
God bless America.
God bless you.
I'll talk to you next week.
