Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on cater As, Australia's home of hip hop and
R and B.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
We are doing the Six Degrees of Music Artists, celebrating
our guy, Bob Marley. He has got his movie coming out,
Bob Marley One Love. It's coming exclusively to cinemas. We
thought we'd try and figure out a way to get
him to Australia through the music world by doing Six
Degrees of Music Artists. Now we kicked off with Bob
Marley himself. We went onto Lauren Hell, We've connected through
(00:24):
to Jay Z. We're back with Bee Wise in the studio.
Where we're going now with.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
The natural quick tie there would be Beyonce, but you know,
the power couple. But taking that aside, I mean we're
talking about Queen Bee Beyonce herself, you know, if it's
even tying up from where we started a Bob Marley.
Now we're going to another artist, a new generation of
influential artists, you know of the decade argue with you Beyonce.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, it is quite a different genre as well, but
you still get the same kind of flow through from
Bob Marley. How do you feel Beyonce's music now is
influence in this generation.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Well, first off, I mean Beyonce started up, you know,
with what you call I say, R and B soul
and then forming it into pop hits. But R and
B soul, reggae, these all come from the essence you
know this is this is black music as well, so
it's all coming from the same place. But I think
now what she's doing and what she's done in her career,
because she's managed to level up each time she's presented us.
(01:22):
And we're talking not just from Destiny's Child, you know,
if you want to go as well, we're talking about
her own solo career and each time being able to reinvent,
recreate herself, have a new message, still remain inspired and
inspiring other artists as well out there, even myself included.
No I'm a I'm a rapper. I have no way
that I would I could try and dance and move.
(01:43):
But here's one funny thing. I once saw a video
of Beyonce. She was rehearsing for tour. This is back
when she was starting out, and she used to walk
on a treadmill and perform at the same time.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Athlete's fat.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
So you're wondering how she dancing and how she'd be
able to perform those vocals. So I actually try to
do that to myself. I'm not gonna love yea, how
hard was it at first? It wasn't easy.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Do you know? What I loved seeing recently on her
tour was her daughter, Blue Ivy, dancing with her on stage.
And I think when you mentioned about Bob Marley and
like family, that's another thing that she is so family first.
She's so forgiving opportunities to her people and her crew
and seeing the progression of her daughter who's twelve on
a stage in front of thousands and thousands of people
(02:24):
and owning it.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Like the support and the love and the care. That's
just different.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
That in herself is beautiful. And you know the similarities
between Bob and between what Beyonce is done with Blue
Ivy is you're seeing now a new generation is now
taking the reins and she's starting and she's working. You're
seeing that there and that's just so heartwarming.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Your parents are jay Z and beyond.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
The type of millionaire conversations you're having with Jay or
with your mom and you talking about the industry, it's amazing.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Yeah, she has such an influence and I feel like
we're getting even closer to Australia the culture nowadays. So
that is our fourth artist and our degrees of music artists.
It is one man, one message, one revolution, one legend,
Bob Marley, one Love. Coming exclusively to cinemas and if
