🎙️ Welcome back to The Call Flo Show on WFLO AM 870!
It’s Thursday, August 7, 2025, and Chris Wood kicks things off from the Francis E. Wood Studio in Downtown Farmville with a full slate of local updates, weather, birthdays — and two amazing guests in the studio.
👥 Special Guests: Jamie Anderson and Nikki Dean from Piedmont Senior Resources
Jamie and Nikki join the show to talk all things Duck Derby 2025 — PSR’s signature fundraiser that’s back for its fifth year!
🦆 The Duck Derby happens Friday, September 12 at Riverside Park at 7 PM and will run alongside Farmville Fridays for an evening of live music, food, fun, and thousands of rubber ducks floating down the Appomattox River.
Jamie explains how the derby helps raise funds for vital local services like:
• Home repairs and ramps
• Non-emergency medical transportation
• Pest control
• Chore services and care coordination
• And the Farmers Market Nutrition Program
🎟️ Duck Derby Tickets:
• 1 Duck = $5
• Quack Pack (5 ducks) = $25
• Flock (20 ducks) = $100
Prizes include $1,000 for the winning duck, $500 for second place, $250 for third, and $100 for the very last duck!
🎯 Bonus: Duck Your Neighbor!
For just $20, you can surprise a friend (with permission!) by having cute wooden ducks placed in their yard for 48 hours. It’s a fun way to support PSR and bring a smile to someone’s lawn.
🎁 Sponsors are still welcome through September 6, with sponsorship levels from $100 to $3,000. And if you buy your Duck Derby ticket from Ducky Glow Beauty Bar on Main Street, you’ll be entered to win a $100 gift card!
