In 2014 Michelle Carter was Conrad Roys long distance girlfriend. As his girlfriend it was her job to let somebody know that Conrad was struggling with suicidal ideation so they could intervene before something bad happened. Instead she encouraged him to end his life, even giving him advice on how to do it. It was only a matter of time before he went through with the act, leaving his family and friends devastated and a country outraged at the person responsible, Michelle.
