Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi there and welcome
to the Cardcast.
I'm so glad you're here.
I'm Natasha, and I'm here toshare a daily practice.
I love pulling an oracle cardand interpreting it through the
lens of my life.
My goal is to help you seeoracle cards as a tool for
noticing and anchoring in yourday.
(00:21):
So take a deep breath, pull upa chair and let's see what the
cards have to say.
Today's card is from the WildWoman Oracle, and we have Hecate
, queen of the Crossroads, andon the card, under the title of
the card, it says the unknown, and I'm, in general, a big fan
(00:44):
of Hecate, so I could talk aboutthat for too long.
I will stick to what's on thecard though.
So what we have on this card iswe have the goddess Hecate who
is walking through a forest.
She has a big black dog withher.
That is one of hercorrespondences.
Dogs represent loyalty.
They represent an element offamily, of the ability to focus,
(01:09):
to hone in on things, protection, and this dog is very
future focused, very forwardfocused, so his body's a little
bit rigid, like he just sawsomething that he's honing in on
In her hand there's a torchAgain, another thing that he's
honing in on In her hand there'sa torch Again, another thing
that she's very notorious for.
(01:29):
But the torch can representlighting the way.
It can represent shining alight on the things that we need
to be looking at, that we'renot looking at.
And because the torch is madeof fire, it can also be burning
away those things that don'treally serve us anymore, things
that we don't really need.
She also has a snake that'scoiled around her arm and partly
(01:53):
around the torch, and snakes, Iknow, are one of the more
controversial symbols.
But snakes can mean healing andshedding the old so that we can
step into the new.
And then we have, in the kindof slightly in the background,
is one of those signposts, that's the crossroads signposts,
(02:13):
and Hecate is the queen or thegoddess of the crossroads.
So when we're at that placewhere the unknown right, like
the card, says I don't knowwhich way to go, where the
unknown right, like the card, says I don't know which way to
go, these could all be greatpaths, they could all be
terrible paths.
I am unsure and I need kind ofthis torch to help guide the way
(02:33):
, this companion in this dog, this healing, this shedding the
old and stepping into the newthat we see in the symbolism on
this card.
So this card brings up really,if we relate it to kind of our
day-to-day life, our decisions.
The things I just said are big, heavy symbols, but really it's
(02:55):
about the decisions we need tomake, even if the decision is
difficult and we feel like fullof uncertainty about it.
It's really that pushing us tomake a decision.
Doing nothing is a decision.
So if you want that to be yourdecision, you can certainly do
nothing, but decisions must bemade and we won't know really if
(03:20):
it's a good or a terribledecision until we've made it.
And then we have so many toolsat our disposal, so many
internal tools, so many externaltools where, if it is the wrong
decision, we can likely fix itor we can continue to push
forward and navigate to theother side of it.
So, thinking about this card, what are some decisions that
(03:43):
you've either been putting offor that you know you need to
make?
How could you maybe reframe thatas being at a crossroads and
stepping into this differenttype of opportunity?
Is it like the snake, where youneed to shed the old to move
into the new?
Do you need that torch?
Maybe you do need just a littlebit more information, just a
(04:05):
little bit more guidance to helpyou make that decision.
Is it like the dog, where youneed a companion?
You need somebody who's goingto be by your side and be able
to see and identify the thingsthat you don't.
But whatever those pieces arethat are holding you back from
making the decision, what canyou control and what can you do
(04:27):
to make that decision foryourself?
Also, knowing that it is stilla journey and just make the next
right decision and the rightdecision is whatever decision
needs to be made.
Then you can make another one,and another one, and another one
.
Our lives are just a series ofstacked decisions and choices,
so you can then continue to makeanother decision and another
(04:50):
choice.
That's all for today's card.
