Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hi there and welcome to the Cardcast.
I'm Natasha and I'm so gladyou're here.
Each day, I pull an oracle cardand reflect on what it means in
the context of everyday life.
My hope is to help you usethese cards as simple tools for
awareness and grounding.
So take a deep breath, settlein and let's see what today's

(00:24):
card has to say.
Today's card is from the ModernLife Oracle cards, which are
Modern Life Oracle's Wisdom forEveryday Chaos, and this is a
newer deck that I thought justlooked really fun.
And the card specifically thatI pulled is the Human Charger.
On it you have a person whosehead and neck are essentially

(00:51):
wrapped up in all of thesecharging cables and in their
hand they're holding anadditional cord, but then like a
bigger part of a power cord orlike a surge protector.
I feel like there's a lot ofsymbolism with what I'm looking
at right now.
We're constantly connected,right?
It's the first thing that comesto mind and in that constant

(01:14):
connection, it can beoverwhelming and it can really
tangle us up in a lot ofdifferent ways.
We no longer live in a timewhere we can't be reached, and
there is something reallybeautiful and relaxing about
people not being able to reachyou.
Why does a boss or a familymember or someone have to be in

(01:39):
constant contact with you allthe time?
So that's one of the firstthings that comes to mind.
Also, just the sheer number ofcords, the sheer number of plugs
that are in the card as well.
We're not only connected viaone thing our phones.
We're connected so manydifferent ways and while I think

(02:01):
there's a lot of beauty in that, because we can connect in ways
that were never possible beforeso like when something big like
the COVID-19 pandemic came upwe still had ways to stay
connected to people, even if wecouldn't be face to face.
So, while there is that pro toit, there's also the con side,

(02:21):
where we have a lot of devicesand we feel the need to
constantly keep them updated andcharged and engage with them
and all these different thingsthat go into that.
And it really this card looksoverwhelming.
This person is overwhelmed withall of the different cables,
with all of the different inputs.

(02:42):
The person on the card we can'tsee their face, but they're
definitely looking down and Ithink that's also indicative of
we look down at our phones, welook down at our devices and
when we're looking down, we'renot looking at the people next
to us or the world around us andnoticing all the things that

(03:03):
are happening, and then we'realso not looking up, especially
when we need that inspirationand we just need essentially
that posture.
Shift of this view isn'tworking for me right now, or
isn't working for me anymore andI won't need to look somewhere
else.
But her head is, or their headis, so tangled around the head

(03:24):
and the neck that it's likewould they even be able to we
become so dependent on thesedifferent things to fill a gap?
There's nothing wrong with that.
That totally happens.
There are gaps, and differentdevices and different apps and
things can certainly fill thatgap and we then feel this
emotional attachment to it.

(03:45):
We can go to that for certaintypes of reassurance or
inspiration, or we like specificthings, tv shows or influencers
or something on there.
Totally fine, of course.
But then there's also thatelement of am I getting so
wrapped up in it that I'm notlooking around and I'm not

(04:07):
looking up and I'm getting stuckessentially in one posture and
in one perspective and I don'teven have the ability to reframe
or to work my way out of it.
As you think about the symbolsthat we explored today.
What comes up for you?
That's it for today's card.
For more reflections and acloser look at the cards

(04:29):

Cardcast.
Until next time, take care, andI'll see you in the next
episode.
