Speaker 1 (00:20):
What is up everybody?
What is up everybody?
Welcome to another episode ofthe Chasing Daylight Podcast,
number 307, on your radio dialthis evening.
Joe is here, dan is here, I amhere.
My name is Matt Jeremy.
Oh, we'll jump on as soon as wewalk through the door.
Okay, jeremy is on his way here.
He'll be here shortly.

(00:46):
So a whole bunch of shit to talkabout tonight.
It's of nice, um, that we havea lot of content to talk about.
So, uh, first off, I want togive a shout out to, uh, the
golf stop, which, um, I will bethere tomorrow.
Golf stop, uh, indoor trackband facility in west henderson
on the saint rose parkwaycorridor.
Um, awesome place, awesomeplace, great.

(01:07):
You know, with it being crazywindy these few days, it's gonna
be nice to be able to go insideand hit some good golf balls
and get some good data, andthat's what I'm looking to do
there.
Also want to give some love toroars, uh, roars golf company,
uh, big show supporter andsponsor for us, and he's living
the dream down there in Miami.

(01:27):
And then also a big shout outScott Russo, unwritten Law,
letting us use that introharmonic man.
I love that song, brings backso many good memories.
So this is a rundown.
I jotted all this down and wecan pick and choose whatever we
want to talk about.
Harry was at the Century, had atop-ten finish out at Kapalua.

(01:50):
That was a blast to watch, eventhough he got no TV coverage
near the end.
It's like there's only threegroups on the course.
Can we get some Harry Hallshots, please?
But no, tgl first match wastonight on on espn.
That's going to be the hottopic, so we'll be talking about
that.
Uh, what is 1440 golf?

(02:12):
Uh, yeah, I'll.
Maybe, if anybody cares, I'lltalk about why the breakfast
ball, the breakfast ball, isgone.
Um, golf week, golf weekmagazine came out with their
courses.
You have public access to bestin state list.
That's a mouthful.
So I've got the top 15 thatthey posted and we can chastise

(02:34):
and criticize and do it.
What everybody does to us.
That might be fun.
We played some golf out ofRevere this past weekend.
Joe and Dan are headed to SouthCarolina, jeremy's going to
Scottsdale and Adele was boughtby Pens and Aces.
Nobody saw that coming.
So thanks everybody for tuningin.

(02:55):
And boys, what do you want tostart the show with?
Do you want to go to the hottopic and just go right to?

Speaker 2 (03:01):
TGL.
Start off with TGL.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Let's start off with TGL.
Joe has been a huge proponentof TGL.
He has not said one bad thingabout it.
I even tried enticing him intosaying some negative things in a
text chat tonight and he'ddeflect, deflect, but it was on
ESPN tonight, national broadcast, tiger Woods saying you know,

(03:29):
260 countries this was beingpreviewed in.
It was better than I thought Ihonestly I thought the
production value was really good.
Espn knows what the hellthey're doing.
I think some of the things thatwere lacking was statistics.
Occasionally they threw up ballspeed and stuff like that.
They have all that.
Why they're not using it more,I don't know.

(03:49):
Maybe they're trying to keepstuff off the screen and not be
so Livy and F1 type stuff, butoverall I thought it was
entertaining.
It's a Tuesday night.
What else are you going towatch?
It's a filler between Sundayayand thursday for us golf nuts.

(04:13):
So, dan, I know joe's probablygonna have a million things to
say.
So, dan, uh, let's get in youryour two cents and then we'll uh
, we'll, unleash the kraken no,I thought, uh, I thought it was
pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Um, I can.
Um, what I really liked off thebat was seeing that you can hit
off of real grass, fairways, rough and sand.
I think that was a pretty cooltouch.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
How about the lip being raised to in the bunker?
Did?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
you see that.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
That was cool.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, that's it's like.
It seems like all the littledetails were kind of thought out
, thought ahead of and it looksgood on tv so far, um, the green
complex, spinning and and thatwhole.
You know the way the little uhjacks underneath the uh,
underneath the green can makethe contours change.
That I think that's pretty cool.
The one thing I didn't like awhole lot about it was the green

(05:03):
shape never changed.
I mean, the holes all changed, but the green shape never did,
and I wish that there was like away where you can, you know,
change the greens.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Um, I know they can change the they can change lies
and in the areas that are flatthey can manipulate those.
But I I was expecting the, likethe whole green, to change yeah
, that's.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yeah, there was the middle high point and two low
points on the left and right andthat was on every shot and I
and I get it.
That's what the green is, but Iwould rather see a more
intricate, rounder green andhave them be able to change it
yeah, yeah, I wish that could bemaybe something addressed in
the future or something.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Um, because it just kind of seemed like after a
while, these guys are going toknow how the brakes are when the
green contours never change.
Yeah, um, but um, other thanthat, I thought it was pretty
fun, um, especially, like I said, for a tuesday night.
I mean, what else you're goingto watch?
You know it provides itentertainment, that's for sure.
It's definitely already, Ithink, in my opinion, already a

(06:08):
little bit better productionvalue than anything Liv has put
up.
Oh, by a mile, but yeah, I mean, it's something different.
It's going to not guarantee younot everybody's going to love
it, but I give it a thumbs up.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I thought it was cool .
I was perusing twitter beforewe came on and, uh, a lot of
grumpy old men out there mattjanella being one of them, which
really surprised me.
Um, luke judge on instagram hey, thanks for everybody that's
tuned in.
We got a bunch of people.
Miles is on there.
Tim flote is on there.
Rocky's on thereay is on there.

(06:44):
Rocky is on there.
Luke Judge is asking is thereonly one stadium for it?
Yeah, everything.
It's one venue in Palm Beach, florida, that they play all the
matches at.
It would be crazy to make thatin more than one place.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
It would be cool, but it's a huge investment.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Oh yeah, but you never know.
I mean, if it blows up and thisgoes crazy, then you may have
venues in other cities.
Another thing, dan, to add onto your mild grapes the team
names is just dumb.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
They are dumb.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
They're very stupid.
It's bad.
I mean xander shoffley andricky fowler, cal or california
kids, what are you doing?
Playing for the new york?
New york golf club from englandyeah, you know, it doesn't make
any sense, so uh I.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
I do understand that he's on the boston team I do
understand that in the sense oflike.
If you're creating like an nflyou know, you're not gonna I?
I mean it's gonna take sometime to grow I understand that.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
I seriously doubt anybody in new york gives a shit
that xander shoffley's on theirteam.
You know it doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
It doesn't like I get cameron young.
I mean cameron young orsomething you know.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
So anyways, all right , joe, you've been a big
proponent of this, let's, let'shear it I have.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
I mean I, I I enjoyed it.
Right it's, it's digestiblegolf for the masses.
I mean that's really what it isright.
It's quick, quick to the pointlike bang, bang bang.
I thought it was a little tooquick.
I mean I'm a golfer, but it iswhat it is.
Um, I thought it wasentertaining.
This is not real golf, it isentertainment golf.
It is, uh, to put golf in frontof more eyes.

(08:37):
And I understand that.
And if you just take in theaccount that korea is one, one
of the biggest places where golfis consumed and they don't play
actual golf, they play golf onsimulators.
So it is the wave.
I mean technology has changedour way of life over the past 20

(08:58):
years tremendously right.
Like I mean just thinking I thefirst iphone and it's changed
tremendously.
Like I had the, I had thesilverback gorilla iphone.
I was one of the first to haveit and it is what it is and it's
changed tremendous, tremendously, but um, I thought
it was enjoyable.
It's hilarious.
Um, I thought it was enjoyable,uh it.

(09:22):
It will never replace real golf.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
It will never replace being out there and they're not
trying to.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
And that's what I think that's where a lot of the
old timers because I had alittle beef with someone on X
about that and you know, andthey're not trying to do that
you know the technology haschanged everything the way we
consume food, the way we watchtelevision, everything the way

(09:50):
we communicate, and it wasinevitable until it reached golf
.
And it has reached golf andit's nice that we have the
players that we like to watch onthe weekends being able to play
golf and it's not the sameteams every week.
This is a two-hour format whereyou can digest golf in a fun
atmosphere, be entertained fortwo hours and, uh, enjoy some

(10:13):
shots.
They're hitting off real grass.
I mean the, the screen isbigger than anything you'll ever
play on and you know thetechnology is amazing.
But you know I where going totake time to teach it how to
grow and learn.

(10:48):
And you know this is the first.
This is the first plate thatthey've served and I thought it
was good.
I mean it's going to take sometime until they they get that
five course meal and it.
I believe it'll happen.
This will never replace themasters's, never gonna replace
pga champion.
You know that.
That's not what it is, and Ithink people need to get that

(11:10):
through their head.
This is a weekday entertainment, uh viewing experience and and
just watch.
This is not real golf, this isentertainment, you know, I think
people need to get that totheir heads top golf changed the
way, you know, people practicegolf.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
They made it golf attainment.
Pop stroke has changed the waypeople putt and you know, now
it's more golf retainment.
This is golf retainment, withsome of the best golfers in the
world playing at a decked out, tech infused environment a

(11:52):
little bit of a crowd, I thinkthey're.
They're going to find out whatworks, what doesn't work.
I was telling Joe, or in ourchat, I was saying you know, it
would be awesome to have theircaddies there in the booth.
You know, talking just aboutthe golfers a little bit, that
might be fun.
There's all kinds of differentthings that they can do.
It's easy to pick apart, youknow, the, the things that we

(12:14):
don't like.
Like the camera angles on someof them were like really bad.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
Uh, they can fix some of that, but yeah, and some of
the camera like the contrast onsome of those cameras were
garbage.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
They looked like cartoon characters that one with
Ricky I don't know what theywere doing with that one, but
that was.
That was weird, yeah, butoverall, overall, I thought it
was, I thought it was good, I, I, I think they got to stop with
the gimmies make them just putit out.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
You know I understand it's just for fun and
everything, but I think besurprised how many putts those
guys miss.
You know that they're givingthem gimmies.
I will say one thing is likethis was a blowout.
I think they could have.
I think it would have been muchbetter if it was a closer match
, like I'm sure they were.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
You know, I'm sure they were begging for it to come
down to the wire.
Just he's gonna win, totallylike and, and you know, I'm sure
they were begging for it tocome down to the wire.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
So he's going to win Totally Like and, and you know,
we got to see some of theirpersonalities, like Xander's
like throw the hammer, throw it,just do the hammer, fucking,
throw it, you know, and I thinkI think it's a a escape for them
from the grind of actual truegolf and we're going to get to
see more personalities from thegame through this than we than

(13:27):
we saw on um full swing or evenon, you know, the, the pga
coverage.
I think it's going to come outeventually and I think they're
going to get more comfortablewith it and I think, I think
it's going to bring us closer tosome of our favorite players in
the long run.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Do you think Shane Lowry's going to get fined for
his F-bomb drop, since ColinMaracal was getting fined?

Speaker 5 (13:53):
No, I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
I wish they'd let it go.
Oh, it was hilarious.
I mean, he's giving a totalcompliment to Ludwig.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
He's like what a fucking shot that was.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
I think that's great.
I mean, you know, when we playgolf with each other, we are,
we're out there and there's noboundaries, you know, and I I
think that's what we want to seefrom the people that we look up
to.
You know, I don't look up tothem per se, but you know, I
want to play golf like they doand I respect their game.
Yeah, I think it gives it'spotential that it can give us a
window into how they exist offof the course when they are free

(14:34):
.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Did you, did you hear the jab at Xander when he said,
when he was chipping on thegreen and he goes oh, I chunked
it, they go, oh, oh, it'sprobably that calloway ball,
it's like oh, shots fired shotsfired

Speaker 5 (14:52):
I think that I think it's going to give us a lot of
those little moments.
They're going to be great.
Yeah, uh, the.
So one thing I noticed was, onchipping, a lot of those balls
came out really low.
I mean, I I know that they havethe pros can you know, hit
those little low spinners betterthan we can, but it looked like
, uh, maybe they didn't getenough practice over there or

(15:15):
whatnot.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
But, um, and I do feel like that green might not
have been working the way theywanted it to, because there was
that high point that was feedingand, uh, if they get rid of
that high point, I think it canpneumatically move better if you
want to totally nerd out andI'll all, let me write this down

(15:38):
so I don't forget um to postthis in the show notes but if
you want to totally nerd out onsome golf data, um, the sweet
spot podcast, uh, a littlecouple episodes back, um broke
down, uh chipping and and theclub going into the ball off of

(16:00):
turf versus grass, and I meanit's great If you want to to
nerd out, if you don't care, don't worry about it.
But uh, yeah, they should havehired southwest greens.
Yeah, right, uh, good stuffthough.
Good stuff though.
Um, so what do you think?
What?

(16:22):
What's the life expectancy forthis?
Do you think it's a coupleseasons?
Are they expecting for it to golonger than that?
How long do you think it'sgoing to be around?

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Go ahead.
I think it's probably.
I mean, I think the noveltywill wear off eventually.
They're going to have to figureout different formats, maybe
incorporate some YouTube golfers, I don't know.
But yeah, I can see that thiscan probably have a couple good

(16:57):
seasons.
First one to work the kinks out.
Second one to try to maybeperfect it.
But you know, eventually peopleare going to be like, okay,
yeah, it's.
You know.
Eventually people can be like, okay, yeah, it's.
You know, it is what it is.
I don't, I think that ifthere's not, like constant
innovations and that type ofthat type of entertainment, it
will uh, it will fade a littlebit, I think I.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
I agree with what joe said, as long as people
understand this is entertainmentpurposes only.
This is not.
You're not getting worldranking points.
You're not getting into majors.
You're not, you know, lockingup Ryder Cup positions.
This is for fun on a Tuesday, before these guys head off to

(17:39):
play their golf tournament forthe week.
I mean, xander was in Hawaii, you know, two days ago, so, um,
maybe a little jet lag with himtonight, yeah um, but I, I think
, as long as everybodyunderstands that and uh, you
know it can be seen as hey, youknow, let's, let's throw on tgl

(18:00):
tonight and see what's going on,um, you know, after jeopardy or
whatever people are watching Ithink there's more to it than
that.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
I think they're betting on the future of golf
that is already here.
I mean, like, shout out thegolf, stop.
You know.
You know, shout out, five ironshot.
I mean, there's so many ofthese facilities popping up and
this is the new wave of golf andyou know, if there's not a
facility that has the room tothrow up a 65 by 100 foot screen

(18:31):
, I mean people that can getinto the facilities that are
hitting into the screens aregoing to aspire to play that
arena.
You know, and I think, um, theyare, they have, they have
placed a big bet on the futureof golf, which the future of
golf is already here and it'sgrowing.

(18:52):
Obviously, like I mentioned, um,I mean, and it's not golf, okay
, like you know, golf is playedoutside and you know, like one
of the guys said, old old TomMorris would be turning in his
grave, and I I did agree with, Idid agree with him, right, and
so would CB McDonald and AWTillinghast and all these other

(19:13):
guys.
You know, one of the things Ilove about golf is being able to
get out for four hours with myfriends and play outdoors and
enjoy being out in nature andthis TGL will never replace that
.
Like it's just not going tohappen.

(19:35):
And the golf stop leagues, likethey fill in the moments
between your moments where youcan get out and actually play,
because we can't play golf allthe time, you know, but maybe
squeeze in an hour and go hit upthe golf stop to play indoors
and and find out what you'redoing.
So this is two hours, you knowhow long does a golf tournament

(19:58):
last?
All fucking day, becausethere's four days.
Exactly so I think.
I think it's fulfilling a thing, something that's in between
what golf actually is and it'sgiving you some entertainment
value once a week where you cansit down for two hours, have
some fun and enjoy it.
I think the longevity is there.

(20:20):
I do believe that maybe theybring in some youtube golfers,
create some other teams, youknow, and like the whole team,
the whole team situation is allfucked.
I don't understand it at all,but um, never have understood
the team I think this is a abreakout breakout concept that
can go far.
It just depends on how thisfirst season goes and how they

(20:43):
can tweak what needs to betweaked.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Yeah, what about Ricky Fowler chucking the flag
in front of Lowry?
That was hilarious.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
I wish they can be like.
I feel like those guys whenthey were out playing practice
rounds and stuff like that.
There's so much shit talkinggoing on.
Oh, so much, and that's theshit I want to hear.
And I know they've got to keepit PC and keep it clean for ESPN
, but I kind of wish they had alittle bit of liberty or maybe

(21:17):
this was like a Netflix streamor something like that, where
they can actually just bethemselves and just talk shit
the whole time.
Yeah, throw it on espn plusthrow on that you know, like you
know, and some of these guys, like shane lowry, for instance,
like you know, shane lowrywanted to crack a beer right
there and just start talkingshit you know I love that shit.
I, I wanted that's.
That's the golfers I want tosee and get to know and get the

(21:40):
real behind the scenes.
I mean this is cool, this isgreat, but, like I said, there's
like Joe said too, maybe likethis first season is where they
work out all the kinks, and thennext season or you know, a
couple of seasons down the road.
You know, maybe they do go toESPN Plus and that, you know,
has become something that theydo.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
I do love luke's take on having to draft corn fairy
players.
You're not going to get a tourcard for playing indoor.
No, no, I don't think it's.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
I don't think I don't think it's about the tour card.
I think it's about introducingthe stars of tomorrow to the
forefront.
That's what I think it's about,but I I do like that idea
there's, there's four players onevery team.
Only three players play everyweek Like what if one of them
was a Corn Fairy player.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
And they're on the bench and when they get called
up, they get called up, you know.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
Rob said I enjoyed listening to the banner among
the pros and having to hang outwith the boys' vibes soul golf
with the pros.

Speaker 5 (22:46):
He said outside the majors, majors.
I enjoyed watching this tonightas much as any middle of the
road pga tournament.
Yeah, yeah, I mean it wasentertaining.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
It was just as good as john here.
I mean, like you know, Iprobably would have rather
watched this than john.
I still, I still crave the f1style callaway versus titulus
versus cobra, ping versus.
I would love to see that.

Speaker 5 (23:01):
I think that would be pretty good, Like the
manufacturers yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Oh, just take the staffers, the top staffers from
each brand and, you know, do itthat way Through New York Club
or Jupiter Links, whateverTaylorMade against Callaway, you
know that would be.

Speaker 5 (23:18):
Oh yeah, that would be like that.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
It would be entertainment yeah right versus
those you know the tour, edgeand cobra and just you know get,
just have some fun with thebrands and you know to have some
bragging rights like becauseeverybody, every single
manufacturer says number oneclub on tour.
You know, number one ironsamongst guys 50 older that have

(23:42):
won three times on the seniortour.
You know it's, there's allthese little sub texts that go
to we're the number one.
This because of that.
And hey, let's take your bestplayers at your staffing and
let's let's have some fun withit what's funny about that is
you.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
You would create more of a fandom that way for sure,
oh, yeah, because there'sdiehards like Team Mizuno or
Team National Customs slash.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
VFO.

Speaker 5 (24:08):
Something like that Artisan.
I mean you can have them playup the ranks or something.
I think it would be good.
I don't think it's possible,but I think it would be very fun
.
But that's for the nerds though, that's not for.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
I know I was happy to see that they all weren't
wearing uniforms with sillylogos.
That they were all wearingtheir own stuff.
That made it a little bit moreappealing to me.
Miles says and you know, thesecompanies are making more from
this than a small section ofcamera time here oh yeah,
they're.
I mean it's, sofi is killing it.

(24:48):
I mean, wyndham clark and sofiwere all over the place.
So yeah, it's, it's bigexposure.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
I think I think one mistake too is um, it looked
like it.
It looked like a VIP arenaright.
Like we couldn't go down toPalm Beach and like buy a ticket
to this, like I don't thinkthere's any chance for that.
So I would have liked to seesome more.
You know, seats that are builtup a little bit and I understand

(25:16):
they didn't want to make thecrowd look small, but if they
wanted to turn into what theywanted to turn into, you know
how am I going to get into thatbuilding?
I probably can't, unless I knowsomebody you know.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Yeah this right here.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Excited to hear Kisner on a live mic next week.
Yeah, absolutely.
And Julian's chiming in abouttech stuff, about the pre-data
fitting hands.
Yeah, we'll get to that later, julian, we're talking DGL right
now.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Matty Woods, 59.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Dan, you know who that is.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Yes, that is the Matt Marino aka Darknesses, aka.
I play all the top 100 all thetime.

Speaker 5 (25:59):
The legend Shout out to you all the time.
The legend Shout out to you forPurcell Appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (26:05):
That was.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Purcell was the number one Alabama public course
that you can play.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
On the list.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
He said SimGolf, oh, he called you Hodge, so I mean,
do we got to go that?

Speaker 2 (26:17):
way I have a lot of big names.
Okay, all right.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
SimGolf is bigger than real golf in, uh, korea,
japan, china.
Fact that matters is how mostpeople can be exposed to golf.
The us got their introductiontonight and this can only I
can't say that.
I'm tired of saying that.
So, uh, do you think liveevents still make money?
Not like they used to?
I think, um, live events, likepga tour live events or this,

(26:46):
because so high, I'm sure ispretty happy with tonight.
I'm sure they're making a lotof money and I don't know what
tickets.
So I have to reach out to somepeople that I know that were
there and see what it cost themto get in the gate.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
He might be saying live, maybe my interpretation,
but who knows?

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Luke Judge says do live events to make money, not
like they used to, I think.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Gotcha.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
Hey, shout out Luke Judge Beth Page.
Ambassador, appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Joe Play oh hey, look Kind of Bethpage.
Ish yeah Right here dancingWarning shirt yeah.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
You got it, have you played it?

Speaker 1 (27:31):
No, but I know somebody who has One one degree
Is separation this is not ABethpage shirt, it's a it's
shirt.
It's a faux, it's a parodyshirt.
Okay.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
One thing if he is talking about live, like you
know, pj is skipping Vegas thisyear.
Liv is skipping.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Vegas this year.
Liv is skipping Vegas.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
I mean, what bigger city that is being passed over
by some major golf tournamentsto skip over than las vegas we
are?
We are becoming the sportscapital of the world.
If you don't want to be here, Idon't know what's wrong with
you.
We are diehards for our sportscurrently and, uh, if you want

(28:18):
to pass this up, that's yourfault, because we have great
golf courses.
It's just a big.
We have a big golf fan base.
There are no tee timesavailable ever, unfortunately,
with courses closing all thetime, and you know what?
What better place than to playtgl in the sphere than here?

Speaker 1 (28:37):
yeah, uh, maddie said the tech display tonight was
awesome.
What do you guys think aboutthat?
I like, I would like to seemore.
I want to see a little more.
Uh, I want to see more ballspeed data.
I want to see, I want to seethem go into, uh, you know the,
the clubs, the guys are playing, the, the you know bringing some
nerdy I know that's not highentertainment value, it's.

(28:59):
It's more for, you know, nerdyguys like me.
But uh, I would still like tomaybe expose, if we're exposing
people to the game and trying togrow, um, maybe some of that
information would be interestingto those people and miles said
it ain't philly, and you arecorrect, sir, you are correct

(29:20):
there.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
But um, what I would say is, as far as the tech, the
tech was great.
Okay, like I, I don't think themajority needs to see the data,
but what I would love to see isthe green pneumatically
changing on every hole.
Yeah, I'd love to see aclose-up of the pumps under the

(29:42):
green, moving the brake like aclose-up, like a espn, like this
, you know, scroll, you know, and and I deep down, I feel like
it wasn't working tonight, youknow, because they had that
little high spot it didn'tchange down and it didn't change
, so I somebody forgot to paythe pneumatic pump bill.
If those motors are not there, then they need to put motors

(30:05):
there and move.
That I think.
I think, like during thosemoments they could like do, like
a, you know, a quick littleroll around and, like the green
could be, you know, like a waveand moving.
I think that would beentertaining, oh yeah, and it
changes every time.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Yeah, absolutely Exactly.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Throw a heat map on.

Speaker 5 (30:23):
Yeah, totally Sick.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Well, I would like to see them incorporate what putt
view does, and you know havesome of that.
The graphics come down on thegreen, showing the break showing
.
You know, have the little shottracer that follows the ball,
not on all of them, but like onmade shots, replay it with the
shot.

Speaker 5 (30:43):
Right, there's, there's things that could be
done I also think that's theputting and chipping area I also
think the holes are so fuckingout of this world, so wild, like
we'll never oh my god, we'llnever see that one.
That was like a w like.
It was like there's no land onearth where you could design
that green no and I think thatthe last one is 746 par five.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah, with the left.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
Yeah there's no land on earth where you could buy to
build a golf hole like that tomake it fit into a golf course.
But if they had, like I, Ithink they're missing the point.
On um, the first time the holesdisplayed, like having whoever
designed that in the digitalworld explained their thought

(31:29):
process about behind it andthey've done that on instagram
like pizza golf he's a mexicangolfer or a golf architect.
He's a mexican golfer or a golfarchitect.
He's designed some really coolshit.
But like introducing a hole forthe first time, like just say,
like their, their thoughtprocess behind it, like 20, 30

(31:49):
seconds, I think that would havebeen cool.
Like that, that hole with thelanding point in the middle and
it fucking wings out like whocame up with that shit?
That's just wild.
We'll never see that in the realworld no I think just their
thought process, like a littleclip thinking about that would
have been really cool.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
I'd like to see a 20 yard fairway.
You know, just make itincredibly hard to hit, then it
cliffs on both sides, you know.
Yeah how good are you, how goodare you right now?
so I thought it was interestingthat when, when matt fitzpatrick
said hey, I'm not looking atthe screen anymore, I'm lining.
I'm lining up, you know, I'mlooking where I need to hit the

(32:29):
ball and then I'm looking downhere.
I've stopped looking at thescreen because it was messing
them up.
Some.
There's some good.
The.
The hot mic was good.
Uh, you know, adam chimed in onour group chat that like live
was going shit.
We could have done so muchbetter, you know, with with our

(32:49):
production.
So we'll see what.
We'll see what happens withwith live golf I don't think any
.
The players and live are goingdamn it.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
I wish I was there, considering the money that they
have, but you never know, someof them might have well, the
thing where it can come down tois if pg and live merge, there
can be two different conferences.
You know what I mean.
Like so, and then it's.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
It's the then we'll have a tuesday night, wednesday
night, tgl live on netflix andprime video.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
That's my thing I think on paramount plus by
peacock subscription only yeah, there's a lot of there's a lot
of room to grow and I thinkthey're going to work out the
kinks.
I think it was great.
I think it was great forshowing um, I really do and um,
I think they'll work out thekinks and there is a lot of room
to grow because, like, likeMaddie said, is, you know, in

(33:44):
Asia most of those people onlyplay simulator golf.
They don't, they don't get outlike we do.
You know, they don't touchgrass, but we unfortunately,
fortunately, we get to play golfon real grass.
Those don't in highly populatedareas.
So that's what they know.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
Well, man.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
I.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
I.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
I had a feeling we'd go on for a little bit about
that, but uh, I didn't know itwas going to go that long.
I like it though it's.
It's entertaining, it's goodtalk, it's good talk.
Um, so let's, uh, let's,transition to real golf.
Uh, we'll talk a little bitabout the century.
How much did you guys watch?
Did you watch it at all?

(34:25):
Was it on your television atall, joe, were you able to get
the kids away from your tv for alittle bit and watch it?

Speaker 5 (34:31):
I watched a little bit but no, yeah, they're,
they're absolutely insane.
So the kids demanded spongebobor whatever was on a cartoon.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
Um, miss rachel, yeah no, no we're past miss rachel
phase, so oh, okay, yeah we'repast that one I've played
capalula uh, I played it 10years ago, 10, 11 years ago, um,
maybe 10 years ago.
Uh, it is not an easy golfcourse and those guys make it

(35:03):
look incredibly easy.
When you don't have wind andyou've got a soft course, uh,
with big fairways and thebiggest greens on tour, you're
gonna see some low scores.
Uh, you know, it's been 33, 34and 35 respectively the last
three years.
Don't see that changing anytimesoon.
I don't think there's anythingthey can do to that court.

(35:25):
You can't lengthen anymore.
It's a par 73, for god's sakes.
Uh, it's, it's a big property,it's a big golf course and you,
you know it's a resort courseand you get professional golfers
out there that can bomb it andattack flags and on a soft
course with no wind, you'regoing to see that.

(35:46):
So it doesn't bother me thatthey're shooting 35 under.
Uh, it, I'm sure it bothers theguys that shot 29 and 30 under
and and didn't win.
But, uh, you know, uh, deckyAlden bald it man he was he was
playing some damn good golf.
Colin was playing some goodgolf too, harry, you know our

(36:08):
friend harry hall.
Hey, he played fantastic.
He had so many small missedputts that he could have easily
been top three.
Top four oh look who.
We got jeremy's with us finally.
No, not yet.
Okay.
Well, maybe he'll be here in aminute.
Um, what, dan?
What do you think if youwatched?

(36:29):
How much do you watch?

Speaker 2 (36:31):
I watched like an hour of it, um, I uh.
I didn't watch a whole lot,obviously, obviously, but really
all I saw was Morikawa andMatsuyama pretty much playing.
But you know, like you said, those courses are, fairways are

(36:51):
wide, the greens are huge, thoseguys are good, the winds
weren't crazy.
So you know, it is what it is.
They're going to go low.
You got the best of the worlddoing what they do best, so I'm
not surprised by it.
I don't mind seeing it.
I'd rather see people shoot 35under than shoot, like you know,
like set, like six, seven underfor a tournament yeah, it makes

(37:12):
sense.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
I mean, you look at what everybody else was, you
know.
It's not like one person shot35 under and everybody else was
at uh 20 under, you know itwasn't that massive of a gap.
Who was the guy in the packDune's at that was Jeremy.
He'll be back as soon as hefigures out his technical
difficulties.
Miles, thanks for hanging out.
Um, thanks for chatting TGLwith us.

(37:34):
We really appreciate it.
Um, let's do it.
Let's let Jeremy get his uhshit figured out.
Uh, we'll run our uh ad for theweek and uh, we'll be right
back.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
At Las Vegas golf superstore by worldwide golf.

(38:08):
We've always been here to helpyou get there.
Las Vegas Golf Superstore byWorldwide Golf Get there one of
the greatest deals in golf the90-day guarantee you

Speaker 1 (38:21):
can't go wrong with it?

Speaker 5 (38:22):
you can't go wrong with it, I mean they kept you
like they kept you at like threeof them, but you know you can't
go wrong so many that they tellyou not to come back.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
All right, so let's go over this golf week state
rankings for public accesscourses.
Uh, basically, courses that youcan play that you don't have to
be a member at or get an inviteto.
Uh, no surprise, the first oneon the list is shadow creek, uh.

(38:53):
Then number two is cascada.
Number three is wolf creek, uh.
Number four is edgewood, sowe'll cross that one off,
because that's reno.
Uh.
Five is win six.
This, this was a huge shockerto me.
All right now is now.
Are you back?
I think it's working all right, all right guys.
No, no, welcome.
Welcome to the show.

(39:13):
Uh, we're talking about rightnow.
You missed all the tgl talk, sorry you'll have to.

Speaker 4 (39:18):
I didn't even watch it, so that's fine, yeah oh
perfect, I'll watch a person andlisten to what you guys said uh
.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
so golf week uh magazine came out with their uh
state rankings for courses thatyou can play in the public.
Uh, for nevada they had shadowcascada, wolf creek, edgewood,
win, and then at number six theyhad conestoga, which was a huge
surprise.
Incline Village is seven, sowe'll cross that off.
Paiute Wolf at eight, kairiSprings at nine, paiute Sun at

(39:48):
10.
Rio Seco 11.
Paiute Snow at 12.
Tbc Vegas at 13.
Oasis which I'm pretty sureOasis is private now, because
that's what the guy was sayingwhen I was in there and 15 is
Reflection Bay.
So, in sharp comparison towhere our list finished, shadow

(40:10):
Creek was two, so that's notterrible.
Cascada was six, not bad.
Wolf Creek, I don't even think,made our top 20.
um, yeah, it's down I think outof spite, it didn't yeah, uh,
win was not on there becausejoe's the only one who's played

(40:31):
it.
Uh, conestoga, let's see wherewas conestoga.
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do,do, do it's not in.
No, no, there it is uh 17.
Uh, piute wolf is five, theyhave it at eight.
Coyote springs we have at seven, they have at nine.

(40:52):
Uh, then the other, piute sunuh, we have it at four, they,
they have it at ten.

Speaker 4 (40:59):
Who cares.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
Golf Digest does not play golf in Vegas like we do.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
They have a point system, they have people that
play it.
I understand.
That's why I want to telleverybody the numbers so we can
trash their list.

Speaker 5 (41:15):
It's more fun.
I'm just getting a little upsethere.

Speaker 1 (41:21):
We had Oasis way down at 36.
And Reflection Bay we have at30.

Speaker 5 (41:34):
And I think this is the problem with all of.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
Who are you going to trust?

Speaker 5 (41:38):
I'm just saying the problem with all of golf
rankings.
This is the problem with all ofgolf rankings.
They come by, they play it once.
They tell you what they thinkand you trust them.
We are here all the timeplaying golf in our city.
You can trust us and we willtell you where the best

(42:01):
conditions are currently orwhere.
But golf digest is not going tobe like oh, this is number one,
but don't go there in november.
Don't go there in february.
They're not going to tell youwhen to go play there, but we
will say skip this one.
Yes, it's a great golf course, but if you want good conditions,
go to this place.
And and I think that's that'sone of the big problems with

(42:24):
rankings, because things changegolf, golf courses.
Golf courses are a livingcreature, you know it.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
It doesn't stay the same all the time I was
surprised bally high didn't makethe list.
I was shocked.

Speaker 5 (42:40):
Good, if it did, you could just throw that fucking
whole list out, because it's notworth it golfer that works at
Valley High who recently postedher favorite courses.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
She played last year and Valley High was number one
on her list and it was just likelook, we know you work there,
we know they pay you to promotethem.
Don't tell people that that'sthe best course that you've
played.
Just stop, just stop well, Ithink.

Speaker 5 (43:21):
I think it depends on what you want, though, you know
, and it's like every timesomebody asks me for
recommendations, I'm like whatare you looking for?
You know, are you?
Are you?
Are you a nerd?
Are you wanting to have a goodtime?
Because I think if you wantedto get drunk and have a good
time and just get shit facevalley high is great for you I'm

(43:42):
looking for a tahitian themedgolf course yeah, but if you're,
if you're a nerd with a closejack-in-the-box yeah, it's very
close.
Yes, um, but if you're a nerdlike I'm not, if you're if
you're a golf nerd, I'm notsending you to ballyhai.
If you're a golf nerd, I'm notsending you to Valley.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
High.

Speaker 5 (44:01):
I think that's the kind of thing that we can create
.

Speaker 1 (44:07):
If Golf Digest knew about the par mates at Valley
High, it would be a solid numbertwo.
Here's a from left fieldquestion who do you guys think
is going to win WrestleMania?

Speaker 5 (44:20):
Shawn Michaels.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
Yeah, stone Cold, stone Cold's going to do it.
Ahmed.

Speaker 5 (44:25):
Johnson.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
Austin 316 says I just whooped your ass, Pearl.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
River Plunge the Junkyard Dog.

Speaker 5 (44:37):
Axel Jim Duggan.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
Oh good, lord, Old days of wrestling I wish I still
had it.

Speaker 5 (44:50):
I had a foam like 2x4 .

Speaker 1 (44:52):
The lumber that I got at Thomas and Mac.
Dan could probably find one.

Speaker 2 (44:58):
There's probably one down in the basement.

Speaker 5 (45:05):
Yeah, I'll go check the bat caves and see what they
got.
I had one man.
I bet you that shit's worth alot of money.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
I'll just bring you up for real this is hacksaw
lumber written on the side of ituh okay, so, uh, word of
caution.
So what when I, when I see whatthey did and I I start looking
at the other places around youknow other cities, other or
other states and I look at therankings and so I wonder I'm

(45:30):
like, how legit are those you?

Speaker 5 (45:34):
know.
Yeah, and that's what I'msaying.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
Yeah, I mean Purcell is great, but Joe, you have one
in Alabama you like way morethan Purcell.

Speaker 5 (45:43):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, that was my whole point to that.
I didn't get to it, but it's.
You know, they get to go playthese courses for free.
Obviously right to judge themand rate them, and I think it's.
It depends on what you'relooking for.
You know.

(46:04):
It really does Like if you andit depends on the day, what do
you, are you?

Speaker 3 (46:10):
going to have a good time.

Speaker 5 (46:12):
Are you looking for the best conditions or are you
looking for the hardest golfcourse?
Are you looking for the easiestgolf course?
There's so many factors.
That's the thing you know.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
Yeah, and you got to remember all these lists.
It's all subjective.
These are basically people'sopinions.
There's nothing that says yes, that is number one, number two,
number three, these are justsports writers who play these
courses, and this is in theiropinion.
National Golf Links is numbertwo, you know, in their opinion,
national golf links is numbertwo, you know, in my opinion, it

(46:42):
could be six, you know.
So that's basically whateverybody's just got to, you
know.
Remember that this it's allsubjective, it's all opinionated
.

Speaker 5 (46:48):
you like what you like and enjoy it yeah, and they
they might not played onethat's right down the street.
That's better, you know, orthat they would have enjoyed
more on a on an other day.
But, um, do your own research.
I mean, that's really what itcomes down to do your own
research I mean it's definitelya good.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
It's a good like guideline for sure, because
let's, let's break down.

Speaker 1 (47:14):
Yeah, let's be real, those courses on there those
courses are are legit.

Speaker 2 (47:17):
They're good, but and necessarily in that order.
It.
It's never going to be like it.
There's no way that.

Speaker 1 (47:25):
I love Conestoga, don't get me wrong.
I absolutely love that golfcourse, but there's no way it's
ahead of all three of the Paiutecourses.
Just not even close, not evenclose.
Not even close, all right, sothat wraps up that.

(47:46):
Uh, let's go into.
Uh, you guys, uh, as in dan andjoe, and hey, jeremy, happy new
year.

Speaker 5 (47:51):
You haven't been on the same to you guys yeah, happy
new year hey, thanks you know, you know, today's the last day
you can say Happy New Year right.

Speaker 1 (47:59):
No.

Speaker 5 (48:00):
January 7th cut off.
One week into the new year, can't say it no more.

Speaker 1 (48:06):
What if you haven't seen somebody?

Speaker 5 (48:08):
Doesn't matter, it's been a week.
You should text them.
Just say.

Speaker 4 (48:11):
Happy Monday.
No, it's Happy Chinese New Yearcoming up Well there you go.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
Cisco, you're the dragon.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
I'm texting you happy new year tomorrow, just just
because okay if you don'tunderstand.

Speaker 5 (48:25):
There's a there's a larry david skit where he says
like you get a week into the newyear to say happy new year,
yeah uh, it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
they changed when seinfeld's on, so I get to go to
bed with Seinfeld on everynight now.
It's amazing, love it.

Speaker 5 (48:40):
Yeah, shout out TV land.

Speaker 4 (48:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (48:42):
Just blocks of Seinfeld.
I love it.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
So you guys, as in Dan and Joe, are headed to the
East coast to go freeze yournuts, I mean to go play some
golf.
Yeah, give everybody a rundownof where you're going, where
you're going, where you'replaying, and what we can expect
to hear from you come next weekwhen you return?

Speaker 2 (49:04):
Well, we are flying into a frigid.
Actually, our first stop isgoing to be in Tennessee, which
would also be very frozen there.
We are going to be flying intoMyrtle Beach Thursday at around
3.30.
The weather forecast is awfullychilly.
We're looking at probablyaround 40, 42, something like

(49:28):
that for highs, sub 30, lowsVery chilly, chilly.
Yeah, it's definitely going tobe frost delay weather.
So I'm not trying to get tooexcited, but I kind of feel like
we're going to have frost delayweather.
I'm not trying to get tooexcited, but I kind of feel like
we're going to have some frostdelays.
We're committed and we're goingto golf when we can.
We're going to have a greattime.

(49:48):
We've got some good courseslined up.
We're playing True Blue, caledonia, tpc, myrtle Beach,
prestwick and Muni in.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
Charleston West, charleston Muni or something
like that it's called.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
Yeah, just Charleston Muni.
Charleston Muni, which Ioriginally thought was a Seth
Rainer design, but Joe actuallysent a fried egg.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
I saw that.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
It's inspired but nonetheless, me driving by the
course and just seeing picturesof it, I'm still stoked as fuck
to play it.

Speaker 5 (50:23):
Yeah, yeah, it looks amazing yeah we're also going to
get to see.
Uh, we're going to get to seethe legend tyler woods and, uh,
blind squirrel is coming downfrom charlotte, north carolina,
to play with us.
Excited to see jameson.
Well, so you guys are doing 36,36 a day for three days or two
days.
It's probably going to be likemore, like 30, 32.

Speaker 1 (50:46):
Yeah, 27.
No, that's the high, joe, that's the high.

Speaker 4 (50:50):
Yeah, that's the high .

Speaker 5 (50:52):
Hopefully there's no frost One whole federal degree.
Yeah, we're looking at lowsbelow 29.
So I think there's going to besome frost, but I'm packed up,
I'm already packed.
I got everything packed up.
I'm ready to go.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
Is this the first trip with the new travel bag?
No, no.
Did you take that to band?

Speaker 2 (51:15):
Oh no, he didn't take us to New York.
Oh yeah, you did Did you.

Speaker 1 (51:18):
You did take him to.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
New York?
Okay, I couldn't remember.
He's got Bethpage dirt on thatbag.

Speaker 4 (51:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (51:24):
I'm going to spread it around for good luck.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (51:29):
Hey, you guys heard he went to Bethpage right A hard
case with all the bumperstickers from where you've been
on your golf travel box oh man, like shut up everybody that does
that.

Speaker 5 (51:40):
But I just can't do that, you know, I just can't do
a hard case just like I can't doanything, so I do not need a
hard case can't do mallet covers, can't do staff bags, can't
have my name on my bag, can'thave a hard case.
I'm a fucking stop, but it'sokay, you know so bougie yeah so

(52:02):
I think it's I think that's theopposite of bougie, honestly
now you're.
You're snobby bougie no, I'm,I'm content he's so bougie, so
bougie okay.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
So, uh, golf we played, uh, so you got.
Hey, honestly, I swear I hopethe weather turns around and
something happens and you getgreat weather, because nothing
worse than flying across thecountry to have shit weather.
Well, first we have to wait.

Speaker 5 (52:35):
We have to get on the airplane and have it take us to
our destination.
That's the main concerncurrently, because we're going
no matter what.
But yeah, the Winter Storm Cora, I believe her name is, might
fuck us a little bit.

Speaker 1 (52:56):
We'll see you next Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (52:57):
Storm, we're your friend Cora, Let us go.

Speaker 1 (53:02):
All all right.
So last couple things.
Jeremy, you gonna play any golfin scottsdale?

Speaker 4 (53:07):
um, it's, it's for joy's birthday, so I might throw
him in.
I don't know if I'll get out,but I do want to go over to the
true and, uh, new level place.

Speaker 1 (53:16):
So I'm gonna message dave and see go see doc and
right around the corner fromthem is putting world oh, that's
right.

Speaker 5 (53:22):
Yeah, so go go take the boys to putting world,
you'll have a blast yes, andthat that in and out that's
right in front of putting worldis the best in and out I've ever
ate at.

Speaker 4 (53:32):
Really no doubt about it okay, I'll try it out then.
I've actually never been toScottsdale.

Speaker 1 (53:42):
Oh no.

Speaker 4 (53:43):
Yeah, when Dan and I went we didn't go to Scottsdale,
but I heard there's some coolold town and a bunch of cool
stuff to see.
Scottsdale is sick.
It's very bougie is the wordAffluent, affluent.

Speaker 1 (53:57):
There's a lot of money in Scottsdale.

Speaker 4 (54:02):
A lot of money.

Speaker 1 (54:02):
money, yeah, we'll see if I play golf, hey, you
could take you could take.

Speaker 5 (54:04):
Uh, you guys, you guys could go to the putt shack.
That's a good little mini golflike there's so many indoors.
It's a good spot.
It's.

Speaker 1 (54:13):
It's fun, it's really there's a pop stroke there.
That's a different layout.

Speaker 2 (54:16):
Yeah, pop stroke here that's just take the place
that's down national, he'd beall right.
Come on, yeah, we could buy.
Yeah, we play phd we do thingsdifferent.

Speaker 1 (54:34):
Uh, all right, uh, let's see.
So we played some golf out atrevere, uh, joe, uh, dan, myself
and cliff.
Uh, a little windy to start, but it turned out okay, let's
see.
So we played some golf out atRevere, joe, dan myself and
Cliff.
It was a little windy to start, but it turned out okay.
Course Concord pretty good inshape.
Still, dan and I we played it.
Was it a couple weeks ago or no?
When did we play Concord?

Speaker 2 (54:53):
We played it like two months ago, I think.

Speaker 1 (54:56):
Okay, that's when it was Before the surgery, so yeah,
uh still I'm still getting backinto golf mode.
Uh, I'm working on a couplethings.
Uh, mr tim flote that was inhere earlier, um, I'm actually
going to start working with him.
Austin is just too busy for myhigh demanding needs.
Uh, so, tim, uh who?

(55:18):
He is posting blogs weekly on1440.com.
Uh, that's the new website,1440golfcom.
I'll transition into that afterwe talk about revere.
Um, joe, you, you haven't beenon the court in a while.
I know you don't like playingthe court, you much rather play
legs and tim, what do you think?
Uh?

Speaker 5 (55:36):
yeah, it was.
It was fun.
It was good to get out there.
I got I posted that video ofyou hitting your t-shot on what
was that number?
Four, five, four.
They were like hope you didn'tpay for that to play that golf
course oh, it's like nastycomments about a t-box.

Speaker 4 (55:54):
It's like nobody's ever seen a dormant dry t-box
before like they only ever playlush green it was, it was dirt,
it was dirt it was dirt uh

Speaker 1 (56:05):
for a solid fucking dirt might as well tee it off,
yeah exactly and that that spothardly gets sun in the winter,
um, with the clouds and and thesun being so low, and it's hard
and it's god forbid if it's cold.
That ground is concrete yeah.

Speaker 5 (56:22):
A lot of people said I, I never saw those conditions
when I played revere.
Ever, um, I would never pay forthat is what people were saying
.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
Wow, yeah damn jesus, it wasn't every t-box, it was
one.
Yeah, so I had to jesus.

Speaker 5 (56:39):
I had some messages.
I had to defend revere did youhear that tice?

Speaker 1 (56:44):
tice was on ig.
I don't know if he's still onthere, but yeah, I, I had.

Speaker 5 (56:48):
I did some defending, um you know, the rest of the
course was good.

Speaker 1 (56:53):
Um, imagine getting the fifth, the fourth t box and
going fuck this place with thisdirt box.
Yeah, why did I pay what?

Speaker 5 (57:01):
yeah, people said why did you pay for that?
Did you pay for that?
How much did you pay for that?

Speaker 1 (57:07):
so uh, yeah, I'm gonna have to go in those
comments.
I didn't even get into that.
You're gonna have to whip outthe yeah, it was message.

Speaker 5 (57:13):
It was messages, but um jesus yeah I dude, we're in
fucking December and January inLas Vegas.
It's not.
You know, it's cold, it'sfucking cold.
It's hard to grow anything inVegas this time of year, so

(57:34):
chill out, chill.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
Good Lord.

Speaker 5 (57:38):
Chill.

Speaker 4 (57:39):
Chill out.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
How were?

Speaker 5 (57:39):
the greens.

Speaker 4 (57:43):
Greens were good, were good, good I, they weren't
as beat up as lexington.

Speaker 1 (57:46):
So lexington is definitely getting more play, in
my opinion.
Um, I think some of the greensthere are a little bit more
challenging to hit than, uh,some of the ones on lex, so that
you know, like uh nine was likeflawless 17 was, don't think a
person hit that green except danall day uh um so you know it is

(58:08):
what it is, but I, you know, Ithought it was in, I thought it
was in really good shape forjanuary in vegas here's the
thing I'll say is like we got toplay golf in January in Las
Vegas.

Speaker 5 (58:21):
It most of the country.
You're not going to be able toplay golf in January anywhere
else.

Speaker 1 (58:27):
So I mean I had, I had a, a base, a base layer on a
polo and a hoodie and I had thehoodie off by the fourth, fifth
hole.
I mean it was, it was gorgeousout.

Speaker 5 (58:41):
It was cold in the morning but, yeah, it turned out
to be a really good day.

Speaker 1 (58:42):
Yeah, it wasn't as cold as national was.
That was cold that was prettycold uh, all right.
So last thing, get to um.
I'll talk about this a littlebit in case anybody is not aware
.

Speaker 5 (58:56):
Um, I was in a connection, that's opening a gas
station and you're going to beable to buy golf balls out the
gas station.

Speaker 1 (59:04):
1440 golf, gas, gas, golf.
Where did gas come from that?

Speaker 5 (59:12):
76 because it's orange.
You just put up orange, oh well, that's just the Stanley cup.

Speaker 1 (59:18):
I just I was more referring to the, to the sticker
on the Stanley cup.
Uh, no, I I wanted If youGoogle, if you go to Google and
type in the breakfast ball, yes,it comes up first, but then
there's like 40 other thingsthat are golf related and
stories and stuff that havenothing to do with me, and I was
just getting fed up with it.

(59:39):
I went into this on a podcastepisode a couple weeks ago,
wasn't sure what to do with it,and so I came up with 1440, and
1440 is how many minutes thereare in a day.
There's so many, you know, withgolf blowing up and so many
people coming on to the socialmedia side of things, it it's

(59:59):
challenging to find a golf namethat you can relate to, and so I
one day I was sitting therejust punching up different ideas
and doing research on it andthe thought of you know me
thinking about golf all day long.
I was like man, well, how manyminutes are there in a day?
So I researched that and that'sthat's where 1440 comes from.

(01:00:21):
So I'm having a little fun withthe play on the words 14, the
number 40, blah, blah, blah.
So I transferred over thebreakfast ball website.
It is now 1440 golf.
I changed my Instagram handlethat's gone from the breakfast
ball to this.
I have stopped posting on myso-called golf life.
That is going away.
So all my golf content otherthan Vegas golf network and the

(01:00:45):
podcast is going to be on 1440golf and, uh, I'm pretty excited
about it.
It's kind of rejuvenated me alittle bit, um, to get back into
doing some of the things thatI've always enjoyed doing and
sharing.
Um, so that's've always enjoyeddoing and sharing.
So that's what that is.
A lot of people have beensending me comments going what

(01:01:05):
the hell is going on.
So it's nothing crazy, just arebranding, and you know the
Breakfast Ball has been aroundsince 2009.
So it's had a good run.
I try to mix it up a little bitwith just posting my personal
stuff on my soul called golflife Didn't really resonate with
people the way I was hoping itwould.

(01:01:26):
So, okay, bye-bye, and you knowI'll just put everything in one
spot.
So once one stop shop for mewith golf content going forward
and it was stressful.
It's hard to let something gothat you've had, you know, be a
part of your life for so long umgo ahead I will say when.

Speaker 5 (01:01:47):
When I, when I opened up instagram that day and I saw
1440 golf, I was like who thefuck is this?
I've never followed thisaccount in my life I've never
followed the who's this.
I have no I I have no idea whothis is, but when we were
playing revere, dan asked me um.

(01:02:08):
He was like why do you think hedid it?
I was like, yeah, it's becausethere are so many imitators with
the breakfast ball and you, youwork.
So hard, you work so hard to umcopyright the breakfast ball and
you know you can't protect itfully because of so many factors

(01:02:30):
and um I knew that was why, because you know we had it for
so long, so it was just it wasnew chapter, you know it was.

Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
It was uh, a little stressful.
Um, I lost all my email and uh,that was freak panic mode.
Um, I get, I get a lot ofemails at the breakfast ball my
email address and uh, I was likefreaking out like, oh shit,
what did I?
Did I miss uh.
So that was a stressful youknow hour and a half where I was

(01:03:04):
trying to get it all figuredout and transferred over, but
it's all, it's all working now.
Um, but you would.
You would be amazed at how manypeople send me stuff thinking I
am somebody that I am notbecause of the breakfast ball.
So it was it was time to let itgo, and all those people can now
search somewhere else.

Speaker 5 (01:03:25):
And leave me the hell alone research us copyright
laws and that's all you gottaknow.

Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Dude, it's ridiculous and then I got the.
I got the renewal for thetrademark and I was like y'all
are crazy if you think I 1440,you think I'm gonna pay you that
much money and have zeroprotection.
Zero protection and I mean it'skudos to uh trademark attorneys

(01:03:54):
and people who have the moneyto fight for their intellectual
property, because, dude, itain't worth it.
In my opinion, it is fuckingridiculous what you have to go
through and the hoops you haveto jump through and the amount
of money you have to pay just tosay they can't do that legally.

Speaker 5 (01:04:15):
Well, they added an S , so they can't yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
It's ridiculous, yeah , ridiculous ridiculous.
We get it.
That's all it takes.
Drop the, the, and then you'regood to go add an s, you're good
to go put a hyphen, good to go,it's, it's stupid.
Anyways, all right, rant over.
So everybody, please, if youhave not, or you were and you're
no longer 1440 golf, it's 14,spelled out.
It's on my screen, on thescreen, you can see it right
there.
That's the, uh, the website, the instagram, uh, facebook and

(01:04:47):
uh, what's it called an x.
yeah, so um, and then I'llslowly convert to the youtube
channel, because I do plan onposting some more stuff over
there.
Last order of business.
I said that before, but sorry.
The VGN season is underway.
Our first event is February22nd.

(01:05:11):

Speaker 4 (01:05:53):
Fairway was like amazing, Amazing man.

Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
I can't.
I can't wait to see thattitanium.
Oh, my goodness, I am, becauseI'm still playing my tailor-made
original sim.
Titanium.
Joe is too, and uh, that clubis so good.
I, I can't.
And the fact that they're doinginto three and a five and a
high launch three how does thecompany man feel about the new

(01:06:20):
TaylorMade driver?

Speaker 5 (01:06:21):
Looks pretty good to me.

Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
It looks really good.
I mean, you know me, I playTaylorMade, I play the Sim and
the Stealth.
They make great clubs.
It's all personal preference.
I will tell you, I do not likethe gloss black on the triple
diamond.
I think they made a hugemistake with that.

(01:06:43):
The matte carbon on the otherones is stunning.
It's gorgeous and it looks sogood.
I'm willing to bet you're goingto see a lot of the tour guys
that are playing triple diamondsthat are going to have that, uh
, that matte top just becauseit's it looks so much better, so

(01:07:03):
much better but we'll see, hey.

Speaker 5 (01:07:07):
Hey, I'd like to take a quick minute because I forgot
to do this last week, but Iwant to give a huge shout out to
uh beyond golf tours at beyondgolf tours on instagram.
Uh, if you're looking to book agolf trip, go follow them.
It's at Beyond Golf Tours onInstagram.

Speaker 1 (01:07:56):

going to be using them and theythey have some canada trips as
well, so they have some newzealand packages too, so wow,
yeah they've got some majorinternational stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
So yeah, probably beyond golf tour.
Shrimp on the ball bookyourself.

Speaker 5 (01:08:14):
Go book yourself a legendary trip yeah, they, you
know, and it's, they're creatingmemories and you know I'm all
about that shit yeah great, great moments, great moments if
if anybody is wondering whathappened to our beautiful golf
courses.

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
Chasing daylight podcast, fantasy golf league to
win money to use towards golftrips and the beautiful golf
course auction.
Yeah, we had four.
We had five people sign up and,uh, four of them are on this
screen.
So or six sorry, we had six andfour on the screen right now.
So, uh yeah, gave those otherguys their money back and said

(01:08:56):
maybe we'll try again next year.
So we'll.
We'll see what happens.
We got to come up withsomething.
I thought that was a great idea, but apparently nobody gives a
shit about fantasy golf or anepic golf trip for 50 bucks so
hey, are you are?

Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
is mike coming this?
Are you playing with him thisweek?

Speaker 1 (01:09:11):
no, no, he he uh, um, I told him he goes.
Yeah, they, they really didn'twant to do anything for me this
week and I said well, you know,it is just the largest trade
show in the history of planetearth.
Going on in town right now mayhave a little bit to do with it,
he's like yeah, you're right,so he's gonna.
He's gonna look at his scheduleand see a better time to come

(01:09:32):
out.
So, yeah, because I was gonnaleave and he wants all of us to
get out.

Speaker 5 (01:09:35):
Yeah, I was gonna leave you a beanie to give him,
because I'm supposed to shipthem one oh, I was excited and
playing back-to-back days in theweek, so anything else, yeah, I
got my.

Speaker 1 (01:09:51):
I got my new la golf shafts today for the, the ai
200s.
Excited about that.
Oh, another tech news did youget?

Speaker 4 (01:10:01):
all which irons did you get in?

Speaker 1 (01:10:02):
the new ones did you get the whole set, or, uh, just
five, uh uh, six, seven, eight, nine pitching wedge okay yeah.
So I pulled the five iron forthe five hybrid and I have no
business hitting a four iron.
So I haven't had a four iron inyears, wow.
So.
So yeah, I'm, uh, I'm excitedabout those.

(01:10:22):
I'm going to build thosetomorrow morning and, uh, just
going on the the new, the newstuff is coming out.
Uh, it'll be out in store.
You can, you can pre-order.
Now I think the 17th is the daythat they're shipping Um, and
telling you buy those fairwaywoods while you can, because as

(01:10:44):
soon as everybody finds out howgood they are, they will not be
available.
That's all I got, yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:10:52):
I need a new one, so I have to grab one.

Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
Going to have to grab one.

Speaker 4 (01:10:57):
Dan, how's all your new clubs?
How'd they fruit run at revere?

Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
actually played pretty well I had it to.

Speaker 5 (01:11:06):
I had it to 500 at one point um as soon as he said
something, and then he fuckingas I mentioned that I was back
to even by the, by the time theround was over.

Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
But but do you?

Speaker 1 (01:11:18):
know, what he did.
Do you know what he did?
Jeremy played the wilson ballthat's right.

Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
Yeah, the wilson ball , the whole round it's good ball
, man like it yeah, it's, yeah,I do like it he had a massive
240 yard drive on number two andI I did.

Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
I thought for sure, the next hole, you were going to
have a Titleist on the tee.

Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Does it?

Speaker 4 (01:11:43):
feel super spinny.

Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
You were just smashed ?
No, not at all.
It doesn't feel super spinny atall.
It was just really that holewas just into the wind and it
was gusting.
But you know, I also popped itlike 360 later that day A couple
times.

Speaker 1 (01:12:01):
Yeah, what did you have in on 11, didn't you have
like I had?

Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
