A million views, a brutal lung infection, and strong opinions about putters – this episode has it all as we navigate the fascinating world of golf both on and off the course.

The Players Championship delivered the drama we expected with Rory McIlroy claiming another victory at TPC Sawgrass. We break down the challenging conditions that tested even the world's best, highlighting JJ Spaun's exceptional ball striking and questioning whether this prestigious tournament deserves major status. Our conversation takes an interesting turn as we examine Rory's public persona – has the responsibility of being the PGA Tour's spokesperson changed him?

Social media became a battleground following the Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass, with Barstool's Trent facing relentless criticism after struggling on the difficult course. We defend content creators who put themselves out there while acknowledging the often toxic nature of online golf discourse. This hits close to home as Matt celebrates his putting video reaching a million views, prompting his giveaway while sharing the surprising lessons learned from unexpected viral fame.

Beyond the headlines, we dive into the technical aspects of golf with a fascinating discussion on swing "low point," explore the future of TGL, and preview upcoming tournaments including the LPGA's visit to Shadow Creek. As Masters anticipation builds and spring golf weather arrives in Vegas, we invite you to join our growing golf community where authenticity and enjoyment of the game remain our core values.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
You know, what's very funny about Live is I got an
email and it's like I I can'tremember the title, but it was
like joaquin neiman doessomething great at the live
tournament.
I was like I didn't even knowit was on.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I had no idea a lot of people didn't know it was on.
Uh, we got maddie g back againthis week with another weekend

me away he's viral.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Ladies and gentlemen, he's a star the tacoma irons
are coming.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, um, and then then we could wrap up the show
with a little bit of talk aboutsocial hate, because gonna gonna
take trent's spot at the nextcreator oh that's funny.
Laughing still hurts.
Take it easy on me.
So, uh, unbeknownst to a bunchof people out there, after last

(02:59):
week's show, I got up Wednesdayand took my kid to school and
was feeling good and was talkingwith my boss.
He's like, hey, you want towork a couple of these extra
events that we need?
And I'm like, yeah, sure, Isaid I got a little funky head
cold but should be fine.
Three hours later I'm out, I'mdead.

(03:23):
Like I'm here, man Dead, andwhatever this thing hit'm here,
man Dead and whatever this thinghit me, it hit me hard Because
I was sick when we played Siennafor the first VGN event.
I was ill.
I had a head cold, I wasn'tfeeling good, I was taking cold
medicine, Yada yada, yada, but Iwas able to function.
Erica didn't even know I wassick, because I'm just not

(03:43):
somebody that likes to complainabout being sick.
I just try to get my shit doneand handle it.
This is not.
I was in bed.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
You're sick, bro, soak it in as much as you can.
That's mean.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
It knocked me on my ass and my body was reacting
hardcore to it Cold sweats, vomiting, couldn't eat, couldn't
sleep, uh, chills, I mean, itwas the full gambit.
full gambit I had jailbird flu, jailbird flu, I like that.

(04:19):
Uh, I had a doctor'sappointment friday just for some
, uh, blood work checkup, and soI went in and the lady's like
you don't look like you feelgood, I'm like I do not feel
good, and uh, so I got covidtested, I got flu tested, all
came back negative, just a nastylung infection.
So did my little z-pack andantibiotics and uh, by yesterday

(04:45):
I started feeling like a humanagain.
But man, why I don't recommendthe.
The lung infection.
It is not.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
It is not pleasant yeah, well, being sick is not
pleasant at all.
I mean, it's terrible, it's not?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
fun at all.
There's some sicknesses that itjust sucks for a couple of days
.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Yeah, I mean, the good thing about being sick is
you don't have to go to work, you get to drink Gatorade.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I mean, you know, well, I I am somebody that loves
me a good 10, 12 hours of sleep.
You know that never happens.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
I didn't get any of it because I couldn't sleep.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
I I didn't get any of it because I couldn't sleep.
I was tossing and turning somuch because I was coughing so
much.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Erica shacked up in her other room just because she
was like I can't be around this, but if you don't get that, then
you get to watch reruns ofSeinfeld.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
That's also a great benefit too.
Price is right yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Price is right.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
That's the.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
OG sick my whoop.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
It was hilarious right, my whoo gee sick, my
whoop.
It was hilarious being sick asa kid.
So like midnight, wednesday, uhit a report came through that
you know, during the last 600minutes, uh, my jiu-jitsu
training exceeded all my, uh,you know, stress things and I'm
like what this?
So I looked and yeah, so mywhoop thought I was doing j
doing jujitsu at midnight.

(06:04):
That's how crazy my body wasreacting wow, shout out, whoop
looking for sponsors yeah, absolutely yeah, my read you
know, jeff marshall is alwaysposting when he has a bad night
recovery.
Yeah, so I said in mind I'mlike this out.
I said my whoop thought I wasdoing jujitsu, that's funny.

(06:27):
It was too, funny but, as yousaid, good thing about being
sick, good thing about it beinga major.
This past weekend I watched ashit ton of the players, a shit
ton of the players and it wasfun.
That's a damn good golftournament and I I seriously

(06:50):
think it needs to have a monikerof being a major championship.
That same venue every year.
There's a ton of history, eliteclass of players, one of the
best fields in golf, oh yeah ofcourse you know what even
classifies a major.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
So it's, it's interesting.
You know what I love aboutplayers week is all the
interesting um facts and thingsthat pete died stories videos
and the pete died stories and anew one I never heard of.
Um, maybe I missed it or maybemy memory and I need ginkgo

(07:25):
bilboa start taking that, maybe.
But uh, that the the lakes arethe sand mines where they had to
dig out the sand.
Uh, because it was all swamp totop the swamp, so all the lakes
were just where the sand mineswere, so they dug it all out to
throw it on top of the swamp, and then they just filled it

(07:46):
with water I, I never heard thatyeah really interesting.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Love all those videos oh, there's so much, so much
good stuff, but what I mean goodlord that, golf course is they
are making it harder, which Ilove.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
The 14th was diabolical for everybody, davis
love is uh on on the, on theground, trying to make it, you
know, trying to bring it back tolife a little bit, you know, uh
to make it what pete saw andwhat it was supposed to be.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
So I loved I loved it yeah, the, the, the greens were
firm, in some sections fast andsoft, and others it was just.
And the wind really made itchallenging.
And listening to some of thecaddies having the conversations
with their players, like Roryon Monday, his final shot into

(08:43):
18, it was 140, and he's likeI'm playing this 167, you know
all the way to the back it'slike he's playing a 27-yard win
shot.
You know, that's just.
It's fun to watch and fun tosee and to be able to see them
execute that stuff.
But fairways were not hitregularly except for jj spawn.

(09:07):
That.
That dude.
Much respect to him, evenbesides what he's putting with.
But uh, dude is one of the bestball strikers I've seen in a
while.
I mean, he just he was on point, shot after shot after shot.
He was just.

(09:27):
Oh, it was.
It was beautiful to watch andeven that player was.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
He got one win.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Right, he's got one win yeah hit that, that one shot
where his foot slipped.
Uh on on sunday, this final on18 on 18 yeah when his foot
slipped and he still stillclipped that ball perfectly.
I'm like I said that happens tome that ball's 30 yards in the

(09:53):
water and he almost made thatputt too.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
So fucking close very close, very close.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Uh, it was uh.
Hey, look, rocky's on ig,what's?

Speaker 3 (10:03):
up roy's, hey, go check out go check out the the
godfather's pacific coast uhyoutube uh series.
Go check that out.
I watched that last nightrory's a clown why?

Speaker 1 (10:14):
why do you think rory's a clown?
I?

Speaker 3 (10:17):
mean I'm not a huge rory fan, right, so I understand
where he's coming from.
Like I feel like rory playsgames like, and it's like, uh,
you know, oh, I'm the, you knowI'm good, I'm like, oh well, I
don't.
He's just like, he just he feelswishy-washy to me, like rory's
a fantastic player, probablyarguably the greatest driver of

(10:41):
a golf ball there ever was, right, but he, just his attitude
is so wishy-washy sometimeslike it's hard to believe
genuine yeah, sometimes I lovewhat he says, sometimes I hate
what he says and half the timeit feels genuine, half the time
it doesn't feel genuine and andI think that's where it is, you

(11:01):
know, and a lot of people thatgrew up, you know, back when he
was coming up and he was on Nikeand he was this young, fat kid
and now he's this old dad withgray hair and he's got a little
baby, you know, and it it justfeels.
It just feels different, likehe's at a different echelon now,
like where he is.
He is a prime player in the PGAtour and I don't know if

(11:28):
there's some like somethingabout him where he feels better
than people.
But that's what it feels liketo me sometimes, like, well, you
know, I don't, I'm better thaneveryone I've been around.
Like yeah, I can see that that'show I feel sometimes dan yeah
he does seem to have.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
He does seem to have.
He like an opinion aboutanything and everything.
Like anytime there's somethingthat comes up that's either tour
related or live related orsomething like that.
It's always like rory's gotsomething to say.
And I agree, I agree with you.
100, joe.
He is.
He's been very wishy-washy, youknow, he was so anti-live in

(12:02):
the beginning and then now he'slike flip-flopping, changing his
tune on that.
So yeah, I don't know.
I I think maybe he feels likehe has enough relevance in on
the pga tour to be a significantvoice, which he might, might,
possibly, you know, mightpossibly be.
But more often than not he'sjust kind of reversing and

(12:27):
changing tune a lot and ends upsticking his foot in his mouth a
lot and it kind of comes off alittle unsavory.
So yeah, I, I agree, I agreewith you, with you, joe yeah
they.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
the tour, I think, has put a lot of pressure on him
to be the man and that could bewhat it is.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
I mean, you know, Tiger's gone, so it's like they
need another.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
they need another and they're not going to get it out
of Scotty Cause.
No, definitely, it's just, that's just not going to happen.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
They need to start.
Just you know.
Talking to JJ spawn, I meanI've never seen anyone hard to
like.
I've never seen anyone more indisbelief of a shot that they
hit than JJ Smart Like he, Ifeel like it's just his resting
face.
I feel like he fully believedthat was in the hole.
He's like why is everybody knowthat that's in the hole?

(13:20):
You know, if, like he didn'tsee it, he felt like he had a
good shot and I feel like hethought that was in the hole the
whole time and he's like whyare people acting like that?

Speaker 1 (13:31):
it's in the hole oh right, hey, it looked like to me
that that kid gave rory hisphone, so I don't know what
you're talking about.
Rocky, I'm just kidding.
I'm just kidding.
No, he, he can't be veryunlikable.
So I uh, I get it.
I get it.
Yeah, um, I do like rocky'sword.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
He said he's entitled I, I like, I, I I kind of get
that.
I will say this too.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
I will say this too, go ahead and finish on that yeah
, I don't.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
I mean, I get that he's.
You know, he's the big dog ofthe PGA Tour now he's the big
dog, but but what did he do toget there?
It's not like they just handedit to him.
Dude has been around for awhile now and he's been a top
player for a long time.
He's got major champions, thatdoesn't matter if it goes to
your head.
Been around for a while now andhe's been a top player for a
long time he's got majorchampions.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
That doesn't matter.
That doesn't matter if it goesto your head do you think it's
gone to his head?
Yeah, I think it might havesometimes 50 of the time it.
It's gone to his head all thetime, you know 60 of the time.
It works every time anger man60% of the time.
It works every time.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Anger man Greenlee chime in.
What do you think Rory entitled?
Has the winds gone to his head?
No-transcript.
Yeah, I mean 28 wins, would youknow?

(15:05):
Certainly go to my head.
I mean, I've got two in the vgn, I'm pretty proud of those.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
So I don't, I don't think it's wins, I think he's
the poster child, now he can'tdo no wrong.
And then maybe he feels like hecan't do any wrong because he's
the poster child, now you knowwho else is he, who else is he
gonna get?
Who else are they going to?

Speaker 4 (15:27):
get Rob chimed in 60% of the time Joe was 100% right,
let's go Good stuff.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
So with that win at the players, he did join this
exclusive category, which Ididn't think it was that
exclusive.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
They always come up with categories.
They always come up there'salways.
There's always those guyssitting back there just going
okay, we got this one, if hewins, uh calmore cow was also
the first guy that you know didwhat tiger did before the age of
22, like yes, where's he at?
So, uh, so jack tiger.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
So Jack, tiger, scotty and Rory are now the only
four players that have twoplayer championships and two
majors.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Well, it's not a major, so I think it doesn't
matter.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah, I understand, but I mean I don't know if
they'll ever do it, becauseeverybody says hey, it's the
fifth major and I think theevent has enough clout that it's
just you won the players.
It's not a major.
I've got 10 majors and fourplayers.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
We've been over this before there's nothing that
actually classifies anything asa major it's just the lpga.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Didn't the lpga just make like a fifth or sixth major
, like five or six years ago?

Speaker 1 (16:57):
yep, the one in uh in france.
Yeah, so why?

Speaker 4 (17:02):
can't.
Why can't the pga just, whycan't the pga just adopt what
they did and fucking make theplayers a fifth?

Speaker 3 (17:09):
yeah, but you're gonna see the point.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
If there's, there's nothing that actually classifies
anything as a major, yes, thereis we call it a major, pga tour
calls it a major, the golfmedia calls it a major.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
That's okay, well, so we got it.
So then we got to get ustogether.
We gotta get the pga tourtogether.
We gotta get the media.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Everybody knows what the four majors are.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Just the PGA Tour and the USGA I need to find that
video.
The governing bodies declarewhat a major is.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I guess, I need to find this video.
I need to find this video.
Jack Nicholson, jack Nicholson, yeah, jack Nicholson, he was in
.
No Jack Nicholson, he playedthe Joker, he was the one that
said it.
I gotta find it.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I gotta find this video because there's nothing,
we need him but yes, jackNicholas, the bear, the golden
bear yeah, I mean you say thattechnically there may not be
something on paper, buteverybody knows what the four
majors are.
It's not like it's Because ofwhat he said.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
I got to find this video.
Guys, I'm sorry, hold on, butif it wasn't, true, nobody would
be calling them that.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
There's truth to it.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
They are the four majors.
What class despises a VGN majorMe?
Because you named them.
Yeah, you named them.
You're Jack Nicklaus in thisscenario.
You named them.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yes, but there's significant events because we
try to play them at a.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
I don't know if the board of directors ever said
this one's a major.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
There's got gotta be some golf history on it.
I mean, the British amateur andthe US amateur were considered
majors back 100 years ago whenBobby.
Jones was winning them, soevidently the PGA championship
and the Masters weren't around,so there's gotta be something in
the books, in the annals ofhistory, that explain why the

(19:09):
masters of history and and theand the pga championship, how
they became majors.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
There's got to be some kind of documentation on
that, yeah I'm sure at somepoint the, the pga of amer
America was like we need to haveour own championship yes, yes,
the whole thing comes down toJack Nicklaus.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I need to find this history because I swear I'm
right Jack Nicklaus and the fourmajors.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
I'm not saying you're wrong.
Nobody's calling you sayingyou're wrong.
You're wrong, joe.
I calling you're wrong, I justyou're wrong, joe.
Oh, I mean, dan is calling youwrong no, so what?

Speaker 4 (19:53):
no?
60 percent of the time.
He's 100 right, so you could bein the 60 right now I got.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
I got 10 on 50, 50.
So hey, I got a 40 chanceregardless oh majors.
I'm gonna find this so, uh, youguys can talk all right as you
will uh, so uh, while joe'slooking at that.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Uh, how much live hong kong?
did you watch dan this manyminutes zero, and you know what
it was on prime time and I hadno clue that it was going on oh,
I, I knew because, uh, um, oh,my, I'm.
I can't believe.
I just drew an utter blank oneof one of our vgm players, the

(20:36):
guy who just won the firstdiamonds division, uh, at siena.
He's a caddy.
Uh, yeah, caddy's for na, I'mthinking.
Pretty sure it's not uh, and soI've been following him on his
journey to singapore, hong kong,so that's, that's the only
reason I knew it was going on,uh.
But I, uh, I'm like, oh cool,we got uh, you know the players.

(20:57):
And then, oh, it's prime timeeight o'clock at night.
I'll put that on.
And yeah, uh, I, I tried.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
I tried.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
I tried, I couldn't get into it I get it, I get it.
And those courses over thereare incredible.
It's just it's fun to look at.
It's a hard watch man.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
I get it.
It's way better to go to livethan to watch it on TV.
Yeah, I had a much better timeat.
Lvccvcc than watching it on tvso much more enjoyable.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Um, another thing we could talk about, uh at the
players that took place was thecreator.
The creator, classic uh and dan.
Did you watch any of that?
Zero minutes of that too?
Oh man, uh, it was.
It was pretty good, it was.
It was fun to watch.
Trent from Barstool gotannihilated on social media.

(21:52):
Not surprised, no, notsurprised.
I mean it's and that's one ofthe things, that's the social
hate going on later that I kindof wanted to chat about, because
Trey posted something and justgot berated.
Like I mean, you thought thethe live fanboys coming after me
was bad, like he was sending mescreenshots of some of the

(22:14):
things that people were sayingand he had his phone number on
his ig account for people foryou know, to hate text and he
was getting fucking people hatetexting him.
Trey was, yeah yeah, it was itwas bad um and it's like I mean
yeah I get it is.

(22:35):
It's a, it's a an event.
It means nothing, it's for fun.
It was fun to watch um, but Imean, he stunk it up pretty bad
and a lot of people were sayingwhat the fuck are they doing out
there?
You know, and oh my goodness, whoo the, the people came out
the woodworks defending him.

(22:55):
Um, you know it's, it's aspecial place, it's a special
course, uh, but they had accessto it.
You know, they played each lake, which also is another special
place and uh, it's, it was.
Uh, it was a hard watch, um, butyou know, it is what it is.

(23:16):
That's.
That's what is going to happensometimes when you put that out
there solly, from no lane up,did great, made it to the the uh
playoff and, uh, you know, uhit was.
It was a fun watch.
I think that the production wasgood and it really showed the
teeth of that course, of howbrutal it can be I can.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
I can.
I can understand some peoplegetting you know bent out of
shape about you know trent beingin there or whatever.
But like, but honestly, likewho gives a shit?
Like you know that guy's partof a huge, huge um thing with
barstool sports and barstoolgolf and all that stuff.
And you know people, justpeople just suck.
You know they need to get overit and just it is what it is.

(24:02):
You know the guy, the guy'sterrible, he knows it.
He's probably knows that hedoesn't deserve to be there, but
who you're not going to turndown a chance to he owns it in a
tournament?
well, exactly.
But in a place like that andwith those kind of people, like,
of course you're going to playin it, don't you know it's, I
don't know and also the barstool.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
The barstool guys played against each other to see
who was going to go.
Yeah yeah, yeah, so like he won, he won that spot I mean, yeah,
I know it's.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
I just I just, you know, like I said, people are
people sucking.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
I'm just getting tired of them, yeah I think him
pulling out balls, balls, ballsuntil he hit the green, that was
a massive like crowd energizer, like people loved it.
Oh yeah, because he representsthe normal guy exactly that's
his 10 cup moment you know, liveon national television or and

(24:57):
that's what.
I feel, like that's what thecreator classic is for.
It's like nobody in the worldis going to relate to anybody on
the PGA tour like oh yeah, Ihit that shot.
But everybody, everybody, everybody watching to relate to
anybody on the pga tour like, ohyeah, I hit that shot.
But everybody, everybody, everybody watching can relate to
trent, right, everybody andit's all about relation, you
know, and I who cares?

(25:18):
if he came in last he didn'tcare, so let him have his time
in the sun, man, like if.
If you were given thatopportunity, I guarantee you
would be shaking in your boots, and he handled that very well oh
, yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
But that does raise the question do they need to
make sure that the golf skillset out there for a bit like
that?

Speaker 3 (25:41):
no, okay no, it's the creator classic.
Nobody's getting a fucking BenHogan jacket.
Nobody's getting a green jacket.
Who gives a fuck?
Grant Horvat won Cool yeah.
He was the best of probablyfour players that day.
Good for him.
I loved the interview thatGrant Horvat did, where he's

(26:05):
like if you got a PGA Tourinvite to a tour stop, would you
join.
He's like no, I mean, I don'tknow that answer.
Those guys are miles betterthan me, and if the time is
right, maybe, but like he knowsit, he knows how much better
they are, and there's betterplayers in the creators and

(26:26):
there's better players in thecreators and there's worse
players in the creators.
So like, let trent have hisfucking day in the sun and let
grant enjoy his time, but heknows he's not as good as them,
so it doesn't.
It's not a fucking major.
Nobody's getting a green jacketout there.
It's a.
It's an entertainment productand enjoy the watch.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
That's all it is yep, yep, yep, yep, yep.
All right, um, let's see whatelse we got here.
I'll resi chime in and make itmore like big break.
Yeah, that would be awesome.
I would love to see bring bigbreak back.
That was, yeah, that was agreat show to watch.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Yeah, we'll get Dan on there.
Bring it back, we'll get Dan onthere.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
LPGA is coming back to Vegas for the match play
event that they have out there.
I sent Gigi a message earlierasking her if she was in the
shadow event.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
She just responded.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
I saw it pop up.
I'm reading it right now, as ofnow, no, but to determine, play
for a withdraw and then maybe, hopefully, she can get into that
.
She played really well over inJapan where they were, where the
LPGA just was.

(27:43):
She was in the final group, let's see.
So that is, it'll be out ofshadow.
You know, always fun to seeshadow on TV, especially when
there's real golfers out thereplaying real golf.
So, all right, let's bring inMaddie G real quick.
We'll do the weather and yeahdo that.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
What's up everybody?
It's Firstler meteorologistMatt Gontarga, the Chasing
Daylight podcast, for a forecast.
This upcoming weekend Lookslike spring has finally arrived.
We have temperatures in the midto upper 70s both Saturday and
Sunday, with partly cloudy skiesand light winds for the most
part, so we're looking at a verywarm weekend, warmer than
average.

So looking at perfectconditions, it's here.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
The warm weather.
It's sunscreen season, the warmweather is here.
You, maddie g, if you don'tknow, you can catch matt in the

I haven't played golf with Reedin a long time.
We got Lex on Sunday, sothat'll be good times.
Jeremy and I were at a golfstop last night watching Z hit
Dude.
That little kid just firesballs after balls, after balls,

(29:30):
after balls oh, to have theenergy oh my god.
I told jeremy.
I said how long does he do thisfor?
I said I'm getting tiredwatching him.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
He was like an hour just raking just waiting for
jeremy to buy a foresight andlike set up in his garage.
Like it's coming, it's going tohappen.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
And we're going to have our own sim garage that we
can just go play at.
Then go for a dip, hey we'rejust going to move in.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
Yeah, he's got room.
They got room over there.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Too funny, but yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
So Cal shout out Birdies and and bourbon, he's in
town next week.
Uh, tuesday is a no-go.
So it looks like we might betrying to grab piute on
wednesday.
So hopefully that happens.
If not, I'm gonna tell him stopfucking around, let's just go
play the classic, let's go tonational.
So if anybody's up forwednesday, you let me know let's

(30:29):
see what's going on next.
You let me know and uh you guysneed to send me like 20 each
because we owe him a bottle ofbourbon, because we lost.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
I thought you took care of that already.
I already paid you for that.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (30:46):
I'm pretty sure I paid you for that.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
I bought you a whole bottle, pretty sure we paid you
for that.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
I guess he's getting a bottle of water.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
Getting some CVS and cap.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
I'm dying.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Getting like four mini bottles from the target
section.
The mini bottle, the travelsection there you go.
Uh, no, yeah, we definitelymake that happen.
I know we still owe him forthat.
Yeah, uh, yeah, as of right now, I don't have anything going on
on wednesday.
I just can't do piu during theweek.
It's just too far and you know, takes for takes me, it's two

(31:24):
hours of drive time plus golffor me.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Yeah, there's not a CVS out there to grab any
medication that you might need.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
No, you got the Paiute.
Stop the smoke shop.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Yeah, it's on a farm, get some Paiute out there.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Your Doritos and Diet Coke were no tax dollars.
So yeah, that's great.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
It's called New Woo, new Woo, new Woo.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
New Woo.
New Woo North.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
I think they might have an event going out there,
because I looked this morningpretty early and everything it's
called the NCAA tournament.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Oh, they're out there , okay, so I figured no, it's
going on in the country andeverybody's in vegas and
everybody is playing golf beforethe tournament games.
And no, I would I looked earlylike and there was nothing
usually there's like a there'snot even like a 5 pm, so yeah,
uh john cap was over here todayuh doing some uh adjustments on

(32:26):
his clubs and, um, he's tryingto get out because his birthday
is saturday and he's like, dude, there's nothing, there's
nothing, nothing.
He goes.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Chimera was 100 bucks at at uh noon well, I looked at
national and there was a bunchof times yeah, a ton of times,
yeah good for national yeah,nice.
Well, that'd probably be badnot good yeah that would be bad
for national if every everyoneelse let me rephrase that it's

(32:57):
good, national has times.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Let's find out why they have times first.
Yeah, because they should nothave times.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
Last time we were out there, the greens were
fantastic.
A ton of history.
That's a place you need tobring a newcomer into town.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Great customer service out there.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
The starter is amazing.
He's a really good guy.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Great turn dog.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
Dogs on the Barbie.
Starter is amazing.
He's a really good guy.
Yeah yeah, Dylan Great turn dogDogs on the Barbie.
Robbie says oh my.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
Thank you, yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Miss me with that one .

Speaker 2 (33:37):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
That's a hard pass.
Hard pass, jesus Christ.
What is going on, peopleUnbelievable, all right,
explosion.
Hard pass, jesus christ.
What is going on, peopleunbelievable, all right, um,
explosion.
So, uh, as I said earlier, thethe my little, my little putting
video uh hit a million views, which I guess it just boggles my

(33:59):
mind that that how that guymisused.
But it happened.
And so I said I was going to do, if it got to a million views,
I was going to do a giveaway.
So, uh, as I saw it, it hit 900000.
I started uh, making thingshappen and I did a little video
today on 1440 golf where Ishowed all the stuff that I have
for the giveaway um, which is,uh, the uh jailbird slant neck

(34:22):
putter, which is the jailbirdslant neck putter, which is the
same putter used in the videogiveaway, the.
I got a dozen of the Chrometour, a triple track balls.
I have a swag head cover.
I got a golf pride reversetaper grip.
I've got a 1440 hat, this veryhat that I'm wearing right here.

(34:47):
I also have a t-shirt that says1440 golf can't afford a lab
putter and some stickers alongwith it.
And then LA Golf reached out tome today and said, soho shaft
is coming your way.
So all together, you know, putter shaft, grip, head cover
stickers, some swag stuffapproaching $850.

(35:11):
So it's a nice little giveawayjust for watching a video.
So I'll be putting together thepost here shortly.
You know it's like all theother ones.
You know I'll be puttingtogether the post here shortly.
It's like all the other ones, like the post tag a friend got
to be following to win typestuff and I'll be giving that

(35:33):
away and the winner can decideif you want me to put the shaft
on or I'll just throw it all inthe box and you can take care of
it on your own.
It doesn't matter to me, I'llput it together for you if you
want.
But if you want to take care ofit, you own.
It doesn't matter to me, I'll.
I'll put it together for you ifyou want.
But if you want to take care ofit, you want to flip it.
I don't give a shit.
Uh, it's uh just a kind of funthing to do to uh say thanks for

(35:54):
all those.
Even the ass hats that you know, because there was quite a few
of them.
So my little way of giving backit it's an anomaly, it's, it's
probably will never happen again, uh, but uh, it was fun.
It was fun to see that side ofsocial media.
Uh, the good side of it.
The bad side of it, that's thatthere's a lot of people that

(36:17):
need some help, like likeseriously so funny, it's so
interesting, like that side it's.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
You know I hold back a lot on oh dude, there's things
I want to say, but I'm like,hey, I'm a good human.
I don't need to say that tothis person, I don't know them.
But there's people that nofilter, like dig, they just want
, they just need something.
They need something out of you.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
You know it's gonna make me feel so much better
about my life by fat shamingthis person.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
You know, it's just, it's wild, it's hey, don't old
shame old golfers on instagram.
You know you're gonna get oldtoo, okay, yes, don't old shame
dude, what am I?

Speaker 1 (37:06):
what are my favorite videos on youtube ever is the
kids with the remote control car, where they go up and swipe the
guy's golf ball out of the wayand he takes his putter and just
smashes their car, all the shitlike what the hell's wrong with
you.
He's like what's wrong with me.
I was like get him, old man ohfunny, so funny yeah, so, um,

(37:31):
but yeah, I, I don't know it.
It it makes, I mean, as asenjoyable as it was as seeing
all the interactions with it.
You know, I would love to beable to.
You know, like I early, thiswasn't something I sat down and
bullet pointed and did a, youknow, a vision board on how to
create a post to go viral.
This was just something that Igrabbed my phone and recorded

(37:53):
this real quick and that kind of.
You know, I was talking withCyrus about it and he's like
dude, it's awesome.
You know, it's just somethingthat caught and went.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
There was some controversy with it I'm curious
from your perspective, like canyou imagine how roger steel,
grant horvat, eric anders lang, like how they feel because they
probably get hit like bob bobbybobby dubs is probably talking
shit about eric andersling'svoice every day, like just

(38:28):
drilling him, just going?
Bob would never do that, Idon't think.
But um, like the amount ofpeople that just dig at these
people that are the influencersin golf and what they have to
deal with, I mean you're, you'rejust you right, like that's

(38:49):
that's the first one and and youdealt with it and it's so crazy
like imagine what these biggerguys have to deal with it's,
it's wild and I mean, you know, you, there were some
conversations you really lookforward to having with people.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
When you see the comments, you're like, oh, this
person doesn't sound like anidiot.
They sound like they actuallyknow what they're talking about.
Let's have a conversation withthem.
And sometimes I'd get lucky andhave that conversation, other
times not so lucky.
And then you have somebody thatleaves a comment and it's like
uh, do I do?
No, you know, there's thelittle fish guy from star wars

(39:31):
it's a trap.
It's like yeah, don't do it andI'm like, ah, let's do it.
And then, oh shit, I shouldn'thave done that, you know.
Yeah, so you gotta, you gottakind of filter yourself before
you throw your thoughts outthere, because first thing that
I realized, or I learned is, mygod, everybody's opinion is so

(39:53):
strongly their opinion and, yeah, you can have.
It's fine to have your opinions, I agree with it.
But just because you have youropinions doesn't mean everybody
else's opinion is wrong, youknow and yeah, exactly, yeah,
yeah, you know I think that'swhere it's gotten lost.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Is it's my way or the highway?
Yeah, you know and it's.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
It's the same thing with what's going on our
politics in the country.
You know it's a god forbid.
If you, if you like the left, then you're fucked up.
If you like the right, thenyou're fucked up.
If you like the right, you'refucked up.
There's no in between.
It's so cut and dry and itdoesn't need to be that way.
One of the things that sparkedthis whole video posting was

(40:40):
that I am not a fan of therevealer being used to display a
putter right and some of thebiggest comments coming back.
We're talking about what zerotorque does.
You don't understand zerotorque.
You don't understand my angleviolence.
Okay, that's fine, but you guysknow Blair from BGT.
I've been chatting with him andGreenlee and Blair and I are

(41:13):
going to do a collaboration onsomething that I am really like
commercials Shout out ChrisTorres on something that I am
really bad, like shamwellcommercials shout out chris
torres, shout out the worldfamous uh
that's funny uh, so we're gonna,we're gonna do this, this

(41:36):
collaboration on some stuff thatI think is really gonna open
the eyes of some things to a lotof people.
So, uh, the initial findingsthat he has, he has come up with
so far, it's remarkable, andthis isn't just focusing on the
lab, this is focusing on someother things.
Um, but it it's going to be,and if anybody ever listened to

(42:00):
our interview with blair, arguably one of the smartest
guys, I've ever met in my lifeyeah, dude brilliant, brilliant
man.
Uh, if there's anybody that youwant to model your knowledge of
the game after, he is one ofthem.
So uh, he's a mad scientist forsure, yeah I highly respect his

(42:23):
, his thoughts, his, hisopinions and when he reached out
and said, hey, you want to dothis, I was like, yes, 100%.
So that will be fun and I thinkit'll be eye-opening.
So look for that down the roadone day.
Hey, did you see Mr Regala'spost today?

(42:44):
Vijay's post today.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
What Making a putt without yeah?

Speaker 1 (42:52):
I sent him a picture.
I go hmm, that emoji and he'slike no lab, right.
I said don't worry, I won'ttell anybody, it's okay.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
Dude.
That's the entire, the entirething, the whole spectrum is
what do you enjoy putting with?
What looks good to you, whatworks for you?
That's the whole thing.
That's all it is.
It's all it is.
It works for you.
Fucking, run it rock.

(43:22):
If a fucking a pencil you wantto putt with a pencil, if you
can drain putts with a pencil,do it.
That's all it is.
It's what works for you.
It's so personal.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
The putter is so fucking personal a smoke
detector you may have toelaborate a little bit on that
one.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
Yeah, I don't get it.
I took the battery out of mine.
I don't have a battery in thisone.
I put a new one in there and itkept fucking beeping, so I took
it out get that fixed, joe, that's important.
I put a new battery in and itkept beeping.
What do you want me to do?

Speaker 4 (44:08):
Figure it out.
Get in the smoke detector.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
Yeah, I probably need to do that.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
He said his video.
Watch it again.
Okay, the smoke detector goingoff in the background.
I must not have the volume up.
I was just like, hmm, thatlooks kind of fishy there it's
true, man putter is so personaloh, hey, and and don't take it

(44:35):
personal.
People don't like your putterbecause putters are personal we
found a mid mallet that fits ina blade head cover.
Yeah for joe, so joe might betesting out a different putter.

Speaker 3 (44:49):
Yeah, I might, who knows, I did putt much better uh
with uh well, you scared thebutter yeah, I said hey, how
much think, how much betteryou'll putt after putting with a
mallet.
Oh my, God, hey, don't getcomfortable.
Don't get comfortable, I'llkick you out of here.

Speaker 1 (45:10):
Just because you're back in the bag right now
doesn't mean you're out of thebag in a couple weeks.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
Yeah, that's funny.
Just do work, do work.

Speaker 4 (45:19):
Do work son.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Do what you're supposed to do, yeah.
If you're not to do, work, son.
And if you're not gonna work, work, son.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
And if you're not, gonna work, work, son, and if
you're not gonna work, then yeah.
If you're not gonna work, thenthen yeah.
If you're not gonna work, thenthen yeah.
If you're not gonna work, thenwe'll figure something else out.
We'll figure something else outwe'll figure something else out
.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
Yeah, you're not.
Yeah, you're not.
Yeah, you're not.
You're here for a good time.
You're not.
You're here for a good time.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
He's deploying code all over this globe.

Speaker 3 (45:35):

He's in the matrix right now.

Speaker 4 (45:40):
Now he's in the matrix right now ford or
something like that, generalford or something like that
general ford or something likethat.

Speaker 3 (45:46):
General motors motors motors deploying code.

Speaker 4 (46:16):
What's Deli Boys?

Speaker 1 (46:18):

Speaker 1 (46:46):
That'll take place next week.
Roars was there tonight.
He got some tickets so he washanging out.
Yeah, he asked me last week hey, you want to come out for the?
And I was like, yeah, I don'tthink air tickets a week out to
Miami are going to be anywherenear what I want to pay to go
out there.
So, yeah, they weren't.

(47:07):
So I didn't um, but yeah though, but that, uh, next week will
be the last week for tgl untilthey come back.
Um, I think they learned a lotabout this.
Yeah, I have a feeling we mightsee this more.
December, january.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
I think that would be great.
That would do wonders for them.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
Yeah, I think they could do a November through
January kind of like with theNFL playoffs and just do NFL
playoffs and TGL the next nightand not have to worry about
interference from tennis matchesand basketball and March.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
Madness Golden Knights hockey games.

Speaker 1 (47:56):
Yeah, golden Knights hockey games Exactly.

You know, as I put it in mymouth, I was like I could see
this being on the boat and and,uh, you know, being like man,
I'm really glad I have thisright now, because the air is
cold and I'm far from home.
Yeah, yeah, great name.
Great name.

(49:30):
Uh, all right, we get anythingelse.
Uh, I mean, we kind of talkedabout the social hate stuff.

Speaker 3 (49:34):
It's, it's I do have one thing that I was I forgot to
bring up last week.
Let's do it.
What the fuck is up with thistrend?
So you guys remember the trendof the big, so high, uh, cove or
pasta, big letter hats, yeahwhat's up with this fucking

(49:57):
upside down?

Speaker 1 (49:59):
I don't get the upside down arc letters on hats
I saw the vegas one and I waslike why, why, why do you want
it upside down?

Speaker 3 (50:10):
I don't get it you're just old everybody's doing it.

Speaker 1 (50:15):
Yeah, I don't get it municipal's doing it with some
of their stuff.
I just I.

Speaker 3 (50:22):
It don't make a no sense to me yeah, I mean the
first, the first one to do it.
Okay, I can understand likemakes sense, but everybody's
copying them, just like thefirst people to do the the big
letter.
I don't yeah, and those the bigletter ones, a lot of people
and now they're starting to gobackwards, like you have to read

(50:44):
upside down and backwards.
Have you seen that?

Speaker 1 (50:47):
no, they're gonna start doing them reverse and you
gotta only read the mirror yeah, exactly that might be you
gotta take the hat off and readit from the back here, yeah, you
gotta walk around like thishere yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (51:01):
Maybe, maybe it's a celebration thing, like you said
, like I made a fucking birdiebitch, you know, something like
that.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
I don't know it's, it's confusing to me, I don't
know did you see the, the mlbhats that came out, that they
pulled off really fast?
Yes, yes with the big logo inthe middle and the written did
you see those damn?
Las vegas a's ass yeah, so theylike texas.

(51:33):
It's the written texas across.

Speaker 3 (51:41):
And then they had the big angels was anals it was bad
, oh nice, oh, just like yeah itwas the a's one was like the
big a's logo, and then it waslike a's, a's, a's, and then the
a was covered up, so it saidass, ass yeah, just not smart

(52:03):
that's funny yeah, the, but they, they pulled them really
quickly.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
So that's when uh shit goes, uh sideways and
nobody's there to catch it andlike, how did this somebody?

Speaker 4 (52:17):
got fired.

Speaker 3 (52:19):
Somebody got fired yeah I'm sure clearly somebody
got fired, yeah, if not, they'regoing to be overseeing the
Japan new era quarter machines.

Speaker 1 (52:30):
You know what I mean, yeah, find a bunch of those in
the broad.
What is it?

Speaker 2 (52:39):
Broad Acres Open air spot meat.

Speaker 3 (52:43):
It's going to have a tent of them Ass hats.

Speaker 1 (52:49):
So we got the Valspars this weekend, another
Florida course, and then, let'ssee, it's not until the first
weekend in April when the LPGAis here and the Masters right
after that.
I mean, we're real close.
We are really close, jay sayshe's hosting sunday.

Speaker 3 (53:14):
So uh, joe, send me that link.

Speaker 1 (53:16):
I'll order that food taste of the masterscom easy
taste of the masters, taste ofthe masterscom the masters dot
com and then next weekend.
Next weekend we got the VGN atBoulder Creek.
That'll be good.
We've got 70 players signed upright now, so that'll be good.

(53:38):
Got two more spots that we'reanxious to fill.
We got 22 and 22 in the Spadesand Hearts, so really nice
turnout for those flights.
I'm really excited about thatranch.
We'll follow that up and thenwe're back in national yeah, so
that's the season's off to agood start.

(53:58):
Uh, I got my my ti, five wood, three wood.
Oh, I was hitting that at agolf stop last night.
Such a good golf club.
Such a good golf club, dude.
It was crazy because I've beenchatting with Tim Flote trying

(54:22):
to refine a couple things in myswing to eradicate some
inconsistencies, and one of thethings he's really wanted me to
focus on lately is low point.
Uh, which is the low point ofthe club.
And you know, with an iron youdefinitely want the low point
after the ball.
Um, and you know, the thehigher up the skill set, the

(54:44):
further in front of the ball thelow point is.
You know, tour pros with aseven iron or four, five, six
inches out in front of the ballat their low point.
You know I I've always beenlike a picker, don't really take
a big divot.
Uh, so I've been working on mylow point at home and then last
night, seeing it, it was niceseeing you know, three, three

(55:07):
inches after the ball is my lowpoint.
And then so z's up therehitting and I switch it to see
low point on his.
He's like two and a half, threeinches after the ball.
I'm like you little shit, youlittle shit, good grief uh and
then jeremy um, his, his lowpoint is behind the ball.

(55:30):
It's, it's wild, because I meanhe's a, he picks the ball.
You know he doesn't take a hugeyeah, you guys are very shallow
swings.
Yeah, that's why for how well hestrikes it to hit it that far
behind it.
It's unbelievable um.
And then, uh, believable um.

(55:53):
And then, uh, he was hittingthe five wood and his low point
was far back too.
And uh, I said, yeah, let'sjust change your stance a little
bit, let's just move the ballback just a little bit, because
you definitely want the lowpoint on a fairway wood at the
ball, yeah, to get everythingout of it.
And so he did that a coupletimes.
He was hitting my five, he wascarrying my five wood.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
255 nice hell.
Yeah, it's like good lord.

Speaker 3 (56:15):
So have you seen that ?
Um, forget the name of it, butit's a training aid.
It's like the wedge effects orsomething like that, where it's
like a, it's got like a rulerand it's got like a, like a
wedge to where you hit down, andtheir videos are like you want
a low spinner, put the wedge twoand a half inches behind the

(56:38):
ball so it practices you hittinglike more down on it.
Want like a, you know?
I'll have to find that Cause Idon't.
I like I've been seeing it andI was like seems fairly
interesting.
I mean I don't, I don'tpractice a ton, I don't have a
ton of time to practice, butlike it makes sense, right.
So, and then you want, like ahigh nipper, you know, you move

(57:02):
it to four and a half inches, orgive yourself some room, yeah
yeah, I'll have to.
Next time I see it, I'll have tosend it to you guys, but seems
interesting, it's just.
It's just you put the ballthere and then there's a ruler
and there's a wedge behind theball so it forces you to hit
down right.
Next time I see it, I'll sendit to you guys.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
It seems interesting like an easy way to hurt the,
hurt your hand no, well, I youdon't do this while you're
swinging.

Speaker 3 (57:36):
So it's just a little piece of plastic that's a half
inch and it's got like a.
You know it's a.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
Save you some money.

Speaker 3 (57:45):
Put a towel down yeah , you can do that as well, of
course, and a ruler.
You need a ruler too it's threedollars, but it seems
interesting.
I mean, and, and that's a wholenother thing is training aids.
So oh yeah we don't need to gointo that right now.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
I have one showing up tomorrow.
So yeah, oh boy, oh yeah, it'sjust just just, uh just, tempo
and swing training, nothing,it's super, it's super simple.
But uh, yeah, nick faldo swingjacket laughing hurts up the pro

(58:25):
sender oh, that's that.
That's what keeps my coolantmodel that I keep in the back of
the truck from rattling.
The Tour Sender.
There's a lot of shams outthere.
I wouldn't say it's sham.
Let me rephrase it Shamwow,shamwow.

(58:46):
There's a lot of training aidsout there that don't work.
A there's a lot of trainingaids out there that don't work.
There's a lot of training aidsout there that do work.
The ones that work for me mightnot work for you.
The ones that work for youmight not work for me so it is
personal.
It's a trial and error thing.
So, yeah, uh, it's kind of hardto dog a training aid, but uh,
yeah, I did not have any luckwith that.
Yeah, you need a medicus seveniron.

(59:09):
Oh, oh, no, I'm, I'm ready, weknow someone that uses a fucking
.

Speaker 3 (59:18):
What is that?

Speaker 1 (59:19):
uh, the the chipper square strike square strike,
yeah, yeah he keeps it in hisbag, yeah and smashes that thing
too.

Speaker 3 (59:32):
Yeah, some things work for who uses it.

Speaker 1 (59:35):
Scotty.
Scotty D wow when me and himand Joe played the preserve
after the solstice, we justbrought three clubs and yeah, he
walks out there with a square, strike like shit on.
Yeah, but he pipes it.
Yeah it works, sure it doesyeah it's too funny.

(59:57):
So all right, joe.
Uh, that'll do it for this week.
