Stunning course conditions at Las Vegas National set the stage for an exciting Vegas Golf Network tournament this weekend. The greens are rolling true, fairways are immaculate, but beware those crusty bunkers that might swallow your ball! We break down the weather forecast from our resident meteorologist Matty G, who predicts light rain and gusty winds that will separate the serious contenders from the fair-weather golfers.

Golf's equipment world is ablaze with controversy as Odyssey releases a putter bearing striking resemblance to the wildly popular Lab design. We dive deep into this heated debate, examining how Lab has disrupted the industry to become the third best-selling putter brand while exploring the long history of manufacturers "borrowing" designs from competitors. Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery, or has Odyssey crossed a line?

The identity crisis of the PGA Championship takes center stage as we analyze what makes golf's four majors distinct from one another. While Augusta demands precision, the US Open tests grit, and The Open challenges players with elements and terrain, what exactly is the PGA Championship's unique challenge? We propose solutions that could give this major a stronger identity, including a potential return to its match play roots.

Our custom Goodwood putters have arrived, and we share our first impressions after taking them for a spin. From immediate adoption to careful consideration, each host has a different experience with these beautifully crafted clubs. Will they replace our current gamers or become cherished collection pieces?

Share your thoughts on these topics and join us every Tuesday at 8:30pm Pacific Standard Time. Subscribe, leave a review, and follow us on social media to see photos of our new putters and join our golf community!

Hey, what is up?
Everybody Hope all y'all aredoing well out there.
We kind of got some bad news inour golf family.
Want to send some condolencesout to the Boyd family.
Little shook right now so Iapologize in advance if the show

(00:42):
is not up to the normalrhetoric and comedy levels that
we sometimes bring in.
So love you brother.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Love you, man, yeah, brother.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Here for you anytime.
Absolutely, we're here for you,but thanks everybody for tuning
in to this week's show.
We've got a good one lined upfor you.
We've got some talk, we've got.
The PGA Championship is takingplace in the wet and soggy,
always repetitious Quail HollowGolf Course in North Carolina.

(01:16):
The VGN this weekend plays ourtournament at Las Vegas National
.
I was out there today withJulian and wow, wow course is in
great shape uh, we have.
Uh, I mean we can talk aboutthis.
Right, we can.
Yeah, everybody's talking aboutthis right now.

(01:37):
Uh, so we'll be chatting aboutthat.
We'll see if rocky hops in.
And uh, we got our goodwoodputters and uh been beating
those up on the course andthrough our social media feeds.
So if you have not seen those,go check them out, because the
picks don't do them any chances, even though they're absolutely

(02:00):
incredible.
So um little windy today.
A little windy, a little little.
I I mean, can we just stop withthe fricking wind?

Speaker 5 (02:12):
Yeah, seriously.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Enough.
I mean, good God it's May Stopwith.
The goddamn wind Got up thismorning.
We had a, we had an eighto'clock tee time at national and
I mean it was blowing like 25,30 miles out there.
It was crazy.
But it calmed down by about thefifth, sixth hole and then we
had an absolutely gorgeous day.

(02:34):
So unfortunately the weekendforecast doesn't look that good.
We got Matty G.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Love it.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
He's got some weather for us about the tournament.
We'll get to that in a littlebit, um, but let's see.
So we played some golf thisweekend.
Uh, well, kind of I didn't.
I played mine today, uh, but uh, you guys were out at national
on saturday yeah, natty ice thenatty Joe took an amazing

(03:05):
picture of the urinal.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
It was dope.
I was just trying to be realcreative, you know.
I just you know I had my pinsand passports kind of like eyes
on and my Jeff I was trying toget my Jeff Marshawn and all
that and it just it didn't workout as well as I thought.
But I, you know I didn't takeany pictures of.
The only pictures I took thatday were Goodwood putter

(03:29):
pictures, uh, and we werewaiting on every third hole,
something like that, for a fewminutes and I said, hey, leave
your car keys in the cart orwhatever it said, and I just
took a picture and I posted it.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah so.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I tried to be creative.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
I tried to replicate the action today.
You know I don't think minecaught.
His caught the aura as much asjoe's did yeah, it wasn't as
good, that's for sure it wasn'tas good so but, how was the
course for you guys?
We'll kind of preview this alittle bit about what's, what's
going on with the vgn out there, what, what was your thoughts?
Um, and I'll I'll throw in mytwo bits it was great.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
I think it was fantastic.
The only thing that reallysucked for us, I think, was it
was like the first like hotround of the year for us and I
like fell five holes.
I was like, yeah, you know, Ineed to start exercising and hit
planet fitness, you knowhydration is key right now yeah,

(04:28):
but other than that, fantastic, really great yeah, best.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
I think it's the best I've seen national, especially
the greens the greens arefantastic.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
The putting green I would argue and one by the barn
the greens were better like twomonths ago.
Last time we played I thinkthat was the best I've ever seen
.
Those greens was like twomonths ago.
They're still great, they'restill good, but they were better
two months ago.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
The first green's a little beat up.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Go ahead, Matt.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
As I say, the first green's a little bit beat up,
but other than that I thinkthey're rolling pretty true and
pretty consistent throughout thecourse.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
They're really good.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Really good.
Yeah, they've turned it aroundpretty good in the last year or
so, but I will say this theyneed to start putting the cut
and cups on the practice gradesnow.
These COVID, that's enough.
Ground pins suck, that's enough.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Rio, these covid above ground pins suck.
That's enough.
Do rio seiko still does that?
It's like you're, yeah, you're,rio seiko.
You know, could you imaginepulling up to shadow, or or, and
having no, yeah, that's all theground pins that's done.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, yeah, you gotta stop that shit for sure.
Anywhere.
Everywhere needs to stop thatif they're still doing it.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, it's garbage, it's dumb uh, the, the one issue
that I think everybody's gonnahave.
Let's see what's rob sayinghere.
Uh, agreed, played saturday andit was the best I've seen
national since moving here in2019.
Oh nice, yeah, the the onlygreat.
And and uh, we, we had a coupleof the other VGN guys out there

(06:04):
with us and a couple couplelobs were thrown trying to bend
the commissioner's ear on bunkerrulings and there's like a
layer of crust there is top ofthe bunkers and especially if
nobody's played in the bunker, nobody's raked it, uh, and with

(06:28):
their probably going to be rainon sunday, uh, the bunkers are
going to be a little treacherous.
uh, they, they do drain, uh, tothe low point, um, but but if
the sun hits it and it dries, there's just this layer of crust
where the ball doesn't settledown, it just sits on top.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
But I was in bunkers like several times and they were
fine.
They were crusty, but they werefine.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Yeah, there's some that are fantastic.
Don't get me wrong.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
And if you have an issue with that, don't fucking
hit it in a bunker.
Exactly, exactly.
There you go, that's that's themain thing.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
It is called a hazard for a reason, yeah.
So, um, you know, we will stillplay our hey if it's in a
footprint or if it's in aman-made depression by a mower
or something that was in theretires, anything that is not
natural.

(07:28):
Yes, you will be able to rakeit and replace it, but
unfortunately, if you get afried egg that has penetrated
the layer of crust and now it'sout there, I don't think, oh no,
we had a we had a couple today.
You did oh yeah, to where youhave a nice little perfect hole

(07:49):
where it has gone through thecrust and is now in the magma
and uh, yeah, it's, uh, it is.
It is not an easy shot, so, uh,you know, I said, well, you
can't lift, clean and rake andreplace don't hit it so high,

(08:09):
bro.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Don't hit it so high then you know, a fried egg it's
jeremy with this towering drivestraight down the middle, just
towering rory style jeremy soit's it's gonna be.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
It's it's gonna be tough, but everybody's gonna
have to play out of the bunkersout of the crusty bunkers some
of them are really good.
Like we were on uh 12 and oh no,I'm sorry, we were on 16 and
the bunker and the front is verythin, very crusty.
It's a very difficult shot.

(08:44):
You know.
We went and hit like five, sixshots out of it just to try and
understand what we could do.
Then the bunker in the backleft perfect, perfect.
So there's some.
It's going to take a little bitof golf know-how to get
yourself out of that.

(09:05):
But other than that-boxes arefantastic.
The fairways are immaculate.
They've cut down a lot of thethe thick, thick grass around
the greens, like on two, uh thatthat on the right side of two,
where it goes down and thencomes back up to the cart path
where the three t-.
Boxes.
That's all short now.
It used to be really thick butit's short now, which was

(09:30):
awesome.
From chipping out of today, Imean loved it.
So I think everybody's in for atreat.
It's going to be well, you knowwhat?
Here, let's bring Matty G inand Matty G can tell you what it
is going to be like.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Good evening from the Fox 5 Firstler Weather Center.
I'm Firstler meteorologist MattGontar for the Vegas Golf
Network Got our next tournamentcoming up at the Las Vegas
National, may 18th.
A 6.30 shotgun start, lookingpartly cloudy with some
scattered light rain showersthroughout the morning and
afternoon.
It's not the best forecast, butvery light rain, not expecting
a washout, but it is going to begusty with winds out of the

(10:06):
southwest 20 to 30 miles perhour.
Temperatures for a 630 shotgunstart 65 degrees.
Should be around 70 to 75degrees as you wrap up the
tournament on Sunday, may 18th.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Have a great round and have a great day, yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
I will say I'd love to hear that because, like
brooks has said before, I mean Idon't, I don't care about rain,
sprinkles or wind, but thatyou're only playing against half
of the field, because half thefield does not like that shit
and they're already in themindset to not want to win
because they don't want to dealwith it yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I love it.
I like playing in the wind yeah, not all the time.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Not all the time, dude.
We've been playing in it forfive months.
Good God, yeah, it is a calmday with two to three mile an
hour winds.
I'm going to be giddy over.
I don't even want to go.
I couldn't putt last night inthe backyard Because the balls
were Because your greens do fastit's the balls where I'm like
I'm barely touching it and it'sgoing 30 feet.

(11:12):
I'm like good Lord.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
So that was a fun, and then you don't want to go
hit balls because it's so damnwindy and so yeah, that's when
you try and like cut it into thewind and you like try and draw
it with the wind.
That's where you get creativeout there.
You know what I?

Speaker 1 (11:28):
mean yeah, but I don't break out that with range
balls.
Yeah, break out your yoga matsthis week because, uh, you need
a little meditative state, ifyou will yes, you're gonna have
to dig deep into the the how tomaintain a level head and
civility, because, uh, there's,I mean, that course will.

(11:49):
It'll kick you in the nutsquick if you're not careful and
that might come on monday too.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
So you never know, but what might come on monday
the rain and the wind, who knows, because it's always a guessing
game where it's basically Imean, we're basically banned.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
We're five days out, so it can.
We could have a heat wave thatshows up friday vegas is banned
without the trees or themeatloaf I, I will give.
I will give maddie g somecredit, though his his forecasts
have been kind of spot on.
He was a little off at laughLaughlin Ranch, but I mean
that's not technically Vegas, soI'll give him a little bit of

(12:27):
pass.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Best weatherman Vegas has ever seen, Matty G.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
He's killing it.
He's killing it.
So let's see.
So we have 72 players.
Very happy to have that number.
We got a last-minute addition.
Rocky from the Golf F fathersis popping on uh oh yeah, we're
battling, you're 100.

(12:53):

said correct 100, correct oh Ithought talking about talking
about Rob.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah.
Rob's 100% correct.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Yes, I know I can take a night off.

artisan warehouse, artisanfacility is is not that far from
his house, um, he knows thepeople there and he, joe, he had
rory mcelroy's prototype ofthat.
Yeah, he stamped rm on it withthe mcelroy serial number.
He had a bunch of raw pxgs.
He had a bunch of, uh, paperirons.

(15:23):
I mean just unreal.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yeah, how he's getting this shit and what he's
up to swag, putter covers, ripping them, and yeah, man,
it's, it's, and it's like I'vebought from him.
You know, I bought, I boughtsome stuff from him, but it's so
fun to watch because it's likeyou don't know what's coming
next.
Yeah, that's the thing, it'slike fun to watch because it's
like you don't know what'scoming next.
Yeah, that's the thing.
It's like what's going to comenext.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Rob and Joe and I were texting last night and
Rob's like I don't really wantto buy anything, but I can't
stop watching and I said I goquitting interrupting me.
I'm trying to watch.
Yeah, it's so, it's, it's agood time.
So, uh, if you got two and ahalf hours to kill sitting on
your couch doing nothing whilethe knights are getting their

(16:08):
asses handed to them, it's uh,it was, it was fun to watch.
So, um, you got anything.
What else you get that came inthis week, joe, besides that, uh
, I got the nike three iron.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah, like I showed um, I got some cleveland hats, I

is the worst, right, so it'slike it's terrible it takes so
long.

(16:39):
It's like I bought this 10 daysago and I don't know what's
bundled together and it justshows up.
But it's like kind of excitingbecause it's like what did I
order?

Speaker 1 (16:49):
What's coming in.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
I did when I bought the uh, this is from Dallas golf
co.
They are on whatnot.
Uh, people should be familiarwith Dallas golf co.
Um, they had a full box ofthese and I got one and I won
the buyer's giveaway.
I got a free uh, I won therange finder from them, so I got
that and it's just like it'slike christmas every once in a

(17:15):
while.
You know, we got like we gotlike five coming tomorrow too.
I had one today.
I bought a knife sick assbutcher knife, um, so I can chop
my meat up.
Uh, and it's a damascus.
It's sweet, um, but yeah, it'svery dangerous, so enter with
caution.
But uh, it's awesome and andyou just gotta you just gotta

(17:37):
find the good people there, andthere's a lot of good people out
there.
I want uh thrifty incrediblepolos and he said he he was
messaging me like yesterday oninstagram and he he wants to
come on.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Uh, I think we just do a a whatnot show at some
point yeah, rob was saying lastnight is is whatnot the new way
to launder money?

Speaker 2 (18:02):
yeah, I don't know, it could be the the, the money
that's exchanging hands.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
I mean, there was a guy last night that he probably
dropped six grand at least.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Oh yeah, bunker yeah, bugger kings yeah follow bugger
kings it's all over once youswipe right yeah, yeah, I don't,
I don't swipe anymore, but um,and it's funny, five packages
coming in from ups tomorrow no,that's all custom bidding.
I only custom bid.
I pick a price in my head.
I'll put in my custom bid andif it, if it wins, it wins, if

(18:37):
it doesn't, it doesn't.
Um, it's funny how you can seethe the items change hands.
Oh yeah, this person sold it tothis person.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
And this person sold it to that person.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Yeah, yeah, it's fun, man.
I mean there's a lot of goodpeople out there on the app and
shout out anybody hustling, youfind your niche.
I've always been that way.
I've always trying to findsomething, something on the side

(19:10):
, trying to do something andtrying to find a way to do this
and hustle, and you know it iswhat it is and you make friends
and you know you build acommunity and it is a strong
community.
Whatnot golf is a strongcommunity there's and you find
those guys, and and shout out, cyrus.
Cyrus has been on there.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Now too, he's done two shows uh homie of the homies
and uh yeah, I was selling somepsycho bunny stuff, the other
night.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I saw that.
I saw that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's rad,it's fun.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Okay, uh, back to national.
Real quick, I'll give some someinfo on the numbers for the
tournament.
So we have, uh, 14 players inthe diamonds division.
Uh, it's going to be two 94 tofirst place, one 96 to second.
We have 26 players I believe in.

(20:06):
Uh, there we go.
Just updated 26 players inspades, that's going to be $455,
$320, and $135.
We have 22 players in hearts,that's $385, $270, and $115.
Then we have 10 people in theclubs, which is $210 and $140.

(20:29):
It's a $2,500 purse out there.
Then we're doing our typicalskins Gross skins for the gross
players, gross skins for the netplayers, net skins for the net
players and CTP, where eachflight has their own hole.
The diamonds, it is hole 14.
Nice little 230-yard par 3 foryou guys.

(20:52):
The Spades is number 3.
It was playing, I think, 178today.
Hearts is number 8.
I think it was playing like 165.
And then the clubs have number11, which for us it was playing
like 146 today, so it wouldprobably be like 135 for them.

(21:13):
And then we're doing somethingnew Because National has five
par threes.
I wanted to do something withit.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
And so Super Sabado Gigante.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Super CTP, so this is open to everybody.
This is how we used to do thectp jeremy's favorite hole
jeremy's favorite in las vegaswe used to have.
Everybody was in the ctps, but alot of people were complaining
that the clubs guys were playing, you know, 50, 60 yards shorter
sometimes.
So that's why we went to theway we're doing it now, which

(21:48):
everybody seems to like.
Um, but with an extra one.
I said, hey, let's do this.
Everybody throw in five bucksand you can play it from your
t-box.
And you know it's the hardestpar three on the course.
So it is the, the super ctpit's I didn't realize it was the
number one or the number eighthandicap on the course that, uh,
that 16th hole, that's a it's apart four basically that front

(22:11):
right bunker is brutal.
Uh, so that you know I we got 72people in the field.
If, if we get, you know, 60,it's a 300, 300 swing right
there.
So along with all the otherctps, that's, uh, you know, can
can generate some cash.
So there's a lot of money onthe line out there for everybody

(22:31):
this Sunday.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Hey, shout out Stems Golf.
Tune in on Instagram If you'rein the Vegas Golf Network.
You released a card suit polo.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Isaiah, when is that coming out?
I pre-ordered it, but I don'tcare when it comes out.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I'm curious when it's going to be here, let's go.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
I want to wear that.
I want to wear that.
I know you're an attorney, butI don't know if I asked matt, I
was like, did you order it?

Speaker 2 (22:57):
I was like you don't have to tell me, but I know you
did.
But I was just curious if youordered it, because I know you
absolutely.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
I mean, it's a no-brainer, no-brainer, uh,
let's see what.
What do we?

Speaker 2 (23:11):
got Got PGA Championship this week.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
I mean.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Quail Hollow.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
They shipped to customers last week of May
Summer drop.
Ah, thank you sir.
Thank you sir.
So we'll have that for themajor.
That would be a good majorshirt there you go.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
All right.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
PGA Championship Quail Hollow, jeremy's favorite
course.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
You know what?
Actually, I need to rescind mycomment because I watched Brian
Bros and Grant do their majorthing today.
They posted it today.
That place is sick.
The problem with PGA Tourcoverage is you see the same
holes every year, over and over.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
But watching their coverage you see all the holes,
you see everything.
On the sides of the greens, that place looks just like
Augusta.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Well, that's what Chamblee was saying tonight.
Augusta vibes yeah, and I waslike haven't seen that.
Yeah, I didn't know that either.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
But if you watch that video, you'll see that place is
actually amazing that shut outthe green the, the greens crew
on that, I mean.
I mean we've seen it with wellsfargo right as well as fargo
right yeah, and I mean obviouslythey're going to do things
differently because it's a major.
But um, I I mean I I waswatching uh live from you know,

(24:35):
the pga championship and I'm notsuper hyped on it and for me
also like philly cricket clubthis past weekend we don't get
to see that very often.
Uh, I wasn't as high like itlooks sick, right, but it the
coverage did not do that placejustice.
I think they could have done somuch better on that too, and
hopefully the pga championshiplets quail shine where did you

(24:59):
send that message at?

Speaker 1 (25:00):
where was that at this point?

Speaker 5 (25:01):
was that in the somewhere, I think adam said
something and then I replied, orI can't remember.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Okay, I tried.
That quote was hilarious.
I'm trying to remember who saidthat.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Yeah, I think Adam sent it.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Oh, there it is.
I guess I would say QuellHollow is like a Kardashian it's
very modern, beautiful andwell-kept, but it lacks a soul
or character.
No, soul.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
No soul golf there, I don't know I don't know.
I mean he would know.
I mean I've never been there,so I've never played I've never
been there either I don't, Iwould, I would.
I don't know, I would love toplay it 100, absolutely 100.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Love to play it.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
I mean because it gets so much play.
You have the Rory win thereYou've got.
The JT win there You've got.
Was it Kepka?
Did Kepka win there?
Was that.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
I don't think so.
I don't think Kepka won there.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Who else won there?
I think, what diminishes.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Xander's won there I think what diminishes the majors
is that we have seen it on tourevery year, right, like we
don't want to see the coursesthat they played on Wells Fargo
year after year after year as amajor.
We don't want to see that, atleast for me, like't want to see
that, at least for me, like Iwant to see something different

(26:35):
and I think if it's a, it's a.
If it's a tour stop, it shouldnot be a major, it should not
host a major.
Now, that's fine, right, like Imean, pebble is awesome, right,
but I'm saying you're saying noto pebble I am but, I don't want
to see at&t pro-am at pebbleand then two months later see us

(26:59):
open at pebble.
That's boring.
I mean, am I wrong there?

Speaker 1 (27:06):
I don't know, I think I like four days at pebble and
Open conditions.
I don't think that's boring atall.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
I would rather not play Pebble every year and just
do it for.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
US.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
Opens and not do a tour event there.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Yeah that I can get by, but I'm not going to get mad
that they do it.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
No, I think Pebble in US Open conditions is very
different than AT&T Pro-Am Tori.
They play the North and theSouth.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
I like four days at the South in US open conditions.
It's fucking hard and brutaland it's fun to watch,
especially since we played it.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
I think they should flip it because they don't get
too much TV time on the Northand just like the final rounds
on the North.
I just that's what I think.
I think no, I know it's not, itshouldn't be that way, but I
think it's like people get tiredof seeing the same thing over
and over.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
I don't dan, you're being quiet.
What do you think?

Speaker 4 (28:05):
yeah, go for it dan I , I kind of agree a little bit
with joe as far as um notwanting to see the tour stop
along with the major um, because, like you said, with pebble,
you I'd much rather see fourrounds of pebble at a us open
setting than a stupid pro-am.
They could put the move, thepro-am, to like sawgrass or

(28:27):
something, or a spyglass orsomething like that, or or go up
to pasta or something.
Yeah, exactly yeah.
But yeah, I, I think I'vealways been a fan of getting
away from these same rotas.
I mean, I know, I know it'shard, but like you know, we've

(28:47):
seen the U S open at at atOakmont what?
Seven times, eight times in thelast 30 years, probably six
times, whatever it is.
You know they do the same thingat pebble, they do the same
thing at uh, at um, likeshinnecock and stuff like that.
Like I want to see some of thecourses.
I want to see like a major atpine valley, I want to see a

(29:07):
major at like uh at likemaidstone or something like that
.
You know, like I don't know ifthese are major, worthy golf
courses, but these are some ofthe best golf courses in the
world and in our country andthey need to be showcased and,
uh, if there's a way that youknow they can make that happen,

(29:28):
I would be more stoked to seeyou know courses like that like
I haven't seen.
You know, I would love to seelike a pga championship, like
pikewood national or somethinglike that, but I'll never.
We'll never see that and I'llprobably never see that course,
you know so I just, you know, Iknow it's not, it's easier said
than done.
I know there's a lot of politicsin play and then you know also,
you know fans, because that, ultimately, that's that's what

(29:50):
they decide on is how much moneythey can generate off the fans.
But yeah, I just wish theywould mix it up somehow.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
See, but the difference is between Pebble and
Oakmont.
Is we only see Oakmont formajors?
I mean yeah, yeah, it's a majorvenue.

Speaker 4 (30:08):
And that's fine, but also too like there's a good
chance that oakmont will be hostanother us open.
I'm not sure what the rotationis but oakmont hosts another us
open, like seven years whenthere could be some any other
courses that can host the usopen but yes joe, you're correct
.
I I think the repetition of oftour stops being a major is more
yeah yeah, it's less exciting.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yeah, rob had a comment here.
He says the pga championship isjust blah relative to the other
three majors.
And what's what's surprisingabout his statement with that is
it typically has the best fieldbecause it's not limited like
augusta.
Um, it doesn't have the us openwhere anybody can qualify.

(30:52):
Uh, you know, it's it's PGAprofessionals and the top
players in the world and it'sit's a, you know, pretty stacked
field because you know thereare some live guys that can't
get into Augusta.
There's some live guys thatcan't get in the US Open, um,
but they're getting into thisone.
Uh, the fields are alwaysstacked.

(31:13):
They play decent courses, it's.
I mean, I don't know, I I enjoywatching it.
I love it, I love all majors.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
I love all majors.
I just think that they aremissing an identity.
You know, they don't have anidentity what the pga
championship?
Yeah, I think it does.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
It just doesn't pertain to you because the pga
of america is massive, I meanokay, explain to me the four
identities of the majors dan,you can.
You can attest to the, to yourfriends that have played in this
, how big of a deal it is forthem absolutely yes I do agree
with massive and it's the layoutthe layout does not have an

(31:54):
identity I was gonna say I thinkit could.

Speaker 4 (31:58):
I could be having a lot to do with course setup,
because it always seems like ofall the four majors, they go the
lowest in the pga championshipand the course never really sets
up super, super difficult, likeif they were to set up.
You know, pga championship likein us open conditions, with six
inch rough and 14, 15 greens onthe, you know, on the stint
meter might be a little bit moreexciting.

(32:19):
You know it might see a littlebit more struggle, but it seems
like more often than not, youknow, like 16, eight, 18, under
20 unders winning the PGAchampionship.
And just think a lot of timeswhen you want, when you want to
see a major, you want to see amajor.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
You want to see like the, the toughest tests, like
off that you know you don't wantto see 20 under, because you
see that every week I would.
I would love to see it go backto match play.
Okay, let me.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Let me just say this that would give it an identity
so masters requires precisionand all-around game.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Uh, you know, full commitment, precision, US Open
grit.
You have to battle, battle, battle, battle, Open.
You have to deal with theelements, the terrain and the
movement of.
Okay.
So the PGA Championship, letsPGA professionals play what?

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Oh, come on, that is a horrible take?

Speaker 2 (33:14):
no, what is it?
I'm just saying.
I'm saying the course augustarequires precision at every
aspect shaping shots, us open, grit, 100 grit, right open,
dealing with wind terrain, playing the ball on the ground

(33:35):
low.
What is pga championship as faras a course?
And you could say it's a hottake, all you want.
I'm just curious what does thelayout, where does that layout
fit?
And I I love the pgachampionship.
I'm just curious what you guysthink it what I don't?

Speaker 1 (33:56):
I don't understand what you're asking.
Where does it?

Speaker 5 (33:57):
fit in the aspect of your game but I think the
problem with the pga is theydon't have a rotation like the
us open has.
So these courses like pebbleand oakmont, beth and all these,
those are sort of the identityof the US Open because we know
those are extremely difficultcourses and the hardest

(34:18):
conditions they can make them.
The PGA doesn't have thatrotation.
It seems like the PGA is theone major that would have the
opportunity to do the newcourses.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
I feel like.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
And they don't.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
I mean, they do in a way, but I don't know I feel
like, pga sort of like us openjunior it's like the younger
child of the us open and it'sless exactly crazy well, it's,
it's, it's I believe it's a.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
it's a marketing event for the PGA of America.
You're going to see a ton ofPGA of America ads.
You're going to hear all thesestories about the PGA
professionals and they're goingto have their moment to shine
and it's really pushing the PGAof America, the up-and-coming
teachers, the up-and-comingprofessionals, and that is what

(35:11):
they're doing.
It just so happens to be amajor that's been around for a
long time and it just doesn'thave the draw of a major
compared to Augusta, which isincredible, the US Open, which
is by far one of the besttournaments in the history of
the world, and then you've gotthe Open Championship.

(35:31):
Which iconic venues, history ofgolf.
You know it's not an apples toapples comparison, but for what
they do, what?

Speaker 2 (35:40):
they do for the PGA in America.
It has an identity.
PGA provides an opportunity forthe top players to complete the
Grand Slam or win their firstmajor stepping stone major.
I get that.
I would agree with that, I 100%agree with that right.
But for me, all I'm saying Ilove the PGA Championship, I get

(36:05):
all that.
I'm just saying what part ofyour game needs to win that and
cause all the other ones takeout a piece of your game to win
a major.
That's all I'm saying.
There's no like.
Like Jeremy said, it's the U Sopen junior right.

(36:28):
U S open requires grit.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
So does it.
Well, they don't set the courseof that difficult.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
No, they don't require, they don't have no
issue it depends on the coursebecause in my view, the pga
championship, besides augusta, the pga championship is like
more pristine courses.
I feel like the courses thatthey play.
It's more pristine.
It's not like seen rough aroundbunkers and greens like the us

(36:57):
open and it just looks roughbecause they've dried it out.
It doesn't feel like that to me.
It feels like it's more of apristine environment.
Especially, I think quailhollow is going to surprise some
people.
I think it's going to bedifferent than the wells fargo,
what they're used to, based onwhat I saw.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Previous PGA Championship locations Oak Hill
Country Club, Southern HillsCountry Club, Kiowa Island, TPC,
Harding Park, which was fuckingincredible.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
I was sick because we don't see it every year.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
I don't know if you know anything about this place.
It's just a goat track in New.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
York Pasatiempo.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Pasatiempo, it's just a goat track in New York.
Positampo, positampo, best Page, black Belle, reve, quail,
hollow, baltrasol, I mean comeon.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Baltasrol.
Pronounce it correctly, please.
Oh, whatever, baltasrol.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
Be respectful goddammit Respect.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Tuck your shirt in, tuck your shirt in.
So, joe, let me ask you this,Joe.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
Let me ask you this, Joe Do you enjoy watching the
players more than you?

Speaker 2 (37:57):
enjoy watching the PGA Championship.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
Yes, does it have anything to do with the?
Fact that the PGA Championshipis at Quail Hollow, a tour stop.
Do you think if the PGAChampionship was at, say, like
Aaron Hills, where it's not atour stop but I think aaron
hills, yeah, aaron hills, wedon't see.
You know, a lot of it isbecause you see quail hollow a
lot well and aaron hills there,it's, it's.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
You can't even see my hand, like some of the rough is
ridiculous, I think it's.
You know.
They said stepping stone, orSTEM said stepping stone major,
and I was trying to look atgolfers that have only won the
PGA Championship and I thinkJustin Thomas won at Coil Hollow
right, he won at Southern Hills.
He has no other major, nope, socan he win another major or is

(38:52):
he only know?

Speaker 5 (38:54):
he can, that's why?

Speaker 1 (38:56):
that's why the grand slam is the only one jordan
hasn't won.
That's the thing about theother ones.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
So because the grand slam is that hard to get?
Because it tests four aspectsof your game.
That's all I'm saying.
Right, precision, grit elements.
What is the PGA Championship.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
And why?

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Why is it all?

Speaker 1 (39:19):
in the league.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Kendall said I think it's a great combo of length,
precision but it's differentbased on the course, but it
takes all to win.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
So it's the all-encompassing major, if you
will's.

Speaker 5 (39:36):
I feel like that's kind of what it is they're
dealing with.
Weather it does depend on thecourse, but I feel like the way
that they set the course upcould be us open-ish, the, the
quality of the course could beaugusta -ish.
I mean, I don't know where theopen comes in, maybe weather,
but I just feel like whoeverplay it's, it's more of a
well-rounded tournament it's notlike an extreme.

(39:56):
One way or another, it's justwho plays the best, who can do
all the things the best pgachampionship is my obviously my
least uh on the well I mean, butlook what you're comparing.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
You love.
You're comparing it to the I dolove.
You're comparing it to theMasters, the US Open and the
Open Championship.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
I mean I just don't think there's a true identity to
it.
I just don't think there's atrue identity to it.
And the others have a trueidentity.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
I think people in the golf space that work Dude.
I'll support Mike Block and allof them.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
I love it, yes, I love that aspect, but you can
win an amateur and get into any.
You know all of them, you know.
So it's like I just want anidentity and I don't want to see
a course that is played on tourplayed for a major Play,

(40:51):
something.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Let's kick out Torrey Pines and Pebble Beach, then
Play something.
Let's kick out Torrey.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Pines and Pebble Beach, then I agree.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
And Quail.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Hollow and Quail Hollow.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
We see it.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
We see it all the time.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
PGA is the Teemu major there we go.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Cliff knows Shout out .
Cliff Play Landman.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Yeah, play it right.
Uh, that would be fun.
Oh, it comes down to puttingkendall says yeah, that's true,
um, it's.
I mean there's some greatclassic pga championship moments
out there.
They were replaying the tigerwoods, bob may stuff today.
I mean there's some really Iwould love to see them just give
it a five-year run as playingit at a match play event and

(41:36):
just see what happens.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Go back how it was in the 40s and 50s and I mean,
could you imagine that being theidentity of the pga
championship?
It's match.
Play like that could be theiridentity.
It still requires all aspectsof your game, but that's their
identity.
You gotta beat the man.

(41:59):
You're playing.
I mean, that's an identity.
That's all I'm saying.
There's not an identity, it'syou so you're saying there's no
identity?

Speaker 1 (42:09):
yes I haven't.
I wasn't sure.
Yeah, no, no identity.
Yes, I wasn't sure.
Yeah, no, no identity.
All right, so I don't know ifRocky's still in the chat, but,
rocky, if you're still here, let's talk a little bit about
this little.
I'll bring this up so everybodycan see it.
Let's talk a little bit aboutthis little guy right here that

(42:30):
is creating all kinds of ruckusand controversy and chaos
amongst all the people in theworld because, uh, well, it just
happens to look a lot like alab putter, it has a very
similar shape, there's no holein it and it I mean, wow,

(42:54):
everybody is talking about this, which it's the wannabe lab.
Here they.
Here come the lab boys.
Uh, ag, go get, go get steven,so you guys can come on and and
tear it apart.
But uh, there there's alsosomebody that that is a big fan
of Lab.
That I'm pretty sure.
In my post he said I will dieon the Lab Hill that now has his

(43:19):
name etched in the bottom ofhis putter.
So we'll see if Rocky bringsthis to the tournament Sunday,
if Rocky brings this to thetournament Sunday.
So I will say this as a personwho works for Odyssey's parent

(43:40):
company Calloway was not a fanof the idea.
Not a fan.
I didn't think they needed todo it, but nobody gives a shit
what I think.
Um, pxg blackbird so that?
So lab copied the pxg blackbird.
Is that what you're saying?
Uh, but I, I get it.

(44:03):
Uh, you know lab is has been adisruptor.
We talked about this when samwas on the show.
By the way, if you haven'tlistened to that, go back.
Oh, and hey, if you're oninstagram right now, share the
show.
Let everybody know that we'retalking about this right now.
Uh, you get the little littlebutton down the bottom screen.
Hit that share button.
Let's see if we can get somemore people in here chatting

(44:23):
about this, because it's a, it'sa hot topic right now.
The sham wow 2.0.
Uh, so I mean ronco, ronco, whatI have what I have learned in
my small time in working withcallaway is that the tour drives
everything.
Uh, not a lot of people likethe the gloss driver, but that's

(44:46):
what the tour guys like triplediamond gloss head, that's what
it.
It is the Callaway staffers, the people that play the
equipment.
They wanted a super high MOIhead and so that's what they got
Super high MOI head.
You know it doesn't have theball retriever in it, it's got a

(45:10):
nice little alignment line.
It does have the forward lean.
You know, can't do anythingabout with the grip because lab
does have the patent on that.
But uh, so we got this as ourdemo.
And uh, so I gotta say I'mgonna go outside and roll it.
And uh, of the four square tosquare variants, you have the,

(45:30):
the blade putter, you've gotarevariants.
You have the blade putter, you've got the number seven,
you've got the jailbird and thennow this one.
If someone said you have toplay this, I would putt wobbly
with this one because it linesup.
No, I'm not going to play it,don't worry, you won't have to
worry about that.
I'm just talking of the four, because the other, the other

(45:53):
three, square to squares.
Not a fan of even, and I, Iplay a jailbird.
Not a fan of the jailbird.
Square to square.
Don't like.
The seven, don't like, uh, theblade.
The blade, I think, is wildlyweird.
Um, but this surprised me.
It surprised me because it itsets up really nice, it puts a

(46:14):
nice smooth, balanced stroke onit, and this is not zero torque,
this is not zero torque, it istoe up.
You can see here, if youbalance it, it goes toe up.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
I'm terrible at this.
That's an interesting take bythe world famous Chris Torres.

Speaker 1 (46:32):
Scotty did this to pink.
Well, everybody's done it toeverybody, and that's that's
what everybody's been talkingabout the, the, the lab fanboys
oh, it's a copy, it's a copy,it's a copy you know, you know
it's.
Nobody has copied somebodygrossly in a while.
That got a lot of press.
Lab is hot right now.
So yes, calloway's design, orodyssey's design incredibly

(46:56):
similar to the lab you could saythey're capturing market share.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
Did you see that video where they are the third
best-selling?
Like putter brand, it's likeOdyssey, scotty Lab, ping and
like they've taken out.
Ping.

Speaker 1 (47:15):
And they have disrupted the industry.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
It's all market share .

Speaker 1 (47:19):
Yeah and so.
But you know, taylormade theRossi that they came out with
that was an Odyssey design.
The answer was a Ping design.
Scotty copied that.
Scotty's got a jailbird versionright now.
You know that they all do it,but it's like nobody lost their

(47:40):
shit when Scotty Cameron comesout with a jailbird.
But you know, odyssey does thisbecause lab is popular.
They have a very dedicated, very, you know, uh was we're
passionate fan base.
It's getting a lot of shit.
That's a timu lab putter.
Oh no, the timu lab putter isway cheaper than this hey, shout

(48:04):
out sam from lab golf.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
What a, what a gentleman.
I mean, it's like people aregonna come for you and he, he's
handling it well.
I mean, you know, people aregonna copy great things, I mean.

Speaker 1 (48:16):
I say I don't like the the square to square
jailbird.
I love my slant neck jailbird, absolutely love it.
But the the square to squarewith the center shaft and the
forward shaft lane not for me.
Not for me as this one, not forme.
Uh, but it's.
It rolls the ball surprisinglywell.
I didn't like it the firstcouple hits, but then, after I

(48:38):
kept fighting with for a littlewhile, it rolls the ball really
good.
There's something to the face, and I was chatting with rocky
about it too and he's like youknow it.
I won't.
I'll let rocky say what hethinks about it.
Um, but uh, he was surprised aswell.
So, uh, don't knock it till youtry it.
Don't worry, lab, they're theynot going to fucking take all

(48:59):
your money and end you?
But there's no lawsuit comingwith this either.
That's one thing that Take Fivewas saying Buy these now,
because they're going to becoming off the shelves.
You won't be able to get them.
No, there's no lawsuit coming.
Oh, you're going to love this, lantanek.
It's so good, it's so good,it's so good.

(49:20):
Oh, look at Mr Bobber in thehouse.
Yeah, so just if you're curious, go roll it and see what you
think.
I'm not going to tell you it'sthe best putter in the world.
I'm not going to tell you.
But I will tell you this itwon't take you 68 weeks to get
it.
You'll be able to go to thestore and pick it up and leave

(49:41):
with it.

Speaker 2 (49:44):
Oh, barbara changed his name again.
What the what's going on here?

Speaker 1 (49:50):
it's all marketing to spend more money.
Give facts and any putter andhe'll roll a great.
Give me any putter and I fightnot to three putter.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
Hey, a true a true golfer is a ninja, you know.
True, we adapt to thesurroundings.
It's not the tool, it's thegolfer.
Get hit and hit it into thetrees.
You're gonna have to whip onearound, cut one below some
branches, or avoid a root.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
We'll do this, if you guys all agree to it, to level
the playing field, becauseJeremy and Dan, you guys are
playing different boxes and Joeand I we'll do it net.
Whoever has the highest netscore on Sunday.
The next time we play, theyhave to play with us.
We're going to have to start aYouTube vlog.

(50:46):
And I want to see this headcover in Joe's bag.
Where's that happening?
It's not that bad, it'll justbe raw.
Then I just won't even rock ahead cover.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
It'll just be raw then I just won't even rock a
head cover.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
It's not that big, I mean in comparison to a swag
cover it's almost smaller, I'lljust raw dog it.
You got to look at it this way, though, right From the top of
the bag perspective.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
Yeah, no, you have to have it hang over a ledge too.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (51:21):
Just put a driver head cover over it.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Yeah, still really like the Jailbird.
Yeah, jailbird's a great putter.
Let's see what's that say.
So the new Prototype putter ispunishment.
No, well, maybe it would bepunishment for joe, I think.
I think honestly, I thinkjeremy would roll it very well.

(51:46):
Dan would vomit every time hetouched it.

Speaker 5 (51:49):
I will not be using that putter oh, oh, oh.

Speaker 1 (51:54):
Look at he's saying he's getting the win.

Speaker 5 (51:55):
That's what he's saying I mean I'll quit golf
before I use that putter thereyou go Slow clap.
I would love to see acomparison between the Lab and
the other putter.

Speaker 1 (52:14):
They're pretty much the same shape other butter,
other they're pretty much sameshape.

Speaker 5 (52:22):
Same shape they have there's, there's a couple
weights in the performance wisehere and here.

Speaker 4 (52:25):
Oh yeah, that odyssey's still doing this on
the way back.
Yeah, yeah, it might be thesame shape, but it's still, it's
still.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
You need to capitalize on your viral fame
and just putt with that and belike dude.
This putter is sick.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
Yeah, I'll do it like this.
I go this is what lab wants youto think your putter is doing,
but if you use this, it doesthis.

Speaker 5 (52:53):
If you use Callaway, it does this.

Speaker 1 (52:55):
If you use Callaway it's the Odyssey it goes right
in the hole what's up with?

Speaker 2 (52:59):
the paradox?
Is that coming or like I'mreally I?

Speaker 1 (53:03):
was talking with greenlee about it, they're they
are out of stock right now.
So uh, just waiting, waitingfor them.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Apparently they made enough to sell out really
quickly and uh, so yeah, in timeI mean we'll have it I
understand their concept, butthe, the mass of the putter,
like how it's like shorter onthis side and it's on the side
I'm real curious, like to seewhat happens with that was there
one model or did they havemultiple models?

Speaker 1 (53:34):
they have a plane to blade them outet too.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
Oh, yeah, yeah it would be curious, like I'm
curious, to see what happenswith that.
Like dude lab is taken off.
Like you know it's, it's, it'suh, golden knights in 2018
status right now.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
You know it's super popular fanboy popular status,
so curious curious in other, inother putter news, these came in
here.
I'll do it like what not, doesit?

(54:11):
Yeah?
Yeah, put it up here so you cansee it.
So this is the the goodwood maxtorque.
Uh, putter, this is mine.
Uh, I got it in raw, uh, deepface, milling on the front
single sight line and, uh, man,it was also good you guys were

(54:32):
out at national with yours, joe.
Uh, I've posted, we've sharedthe photos on on our ig page.
So if you're not following, ifyou're watching on instagram,
hopefully you're following us.
If you're not, if you'rewatching on youtube, go to our
instagram page.
Uh, check it out.
I've been posting picturesthere of of our putters.
Joe got the same finish but along neck with some custom
stamping, dan got a mallet andjeremy got a blade with a little

(54:55):
slant neck on it with the acidwash finish.
Much props to Dave.
We're going to have him on theshow.
I wanted to get the putters.
I wanted us to putt with themfirst before we had them on the
show, so we could at least talkabout our putters and how they
came out.
But we'll go around the horn.
Dan, tell us a little bit aboutyours and what you've seen with
it so far.

Speaker 4 (55:18):
Yeah, I went with the mid mallet carbon steel.
It's a little bit of a heavierhit at 370, and shout out to
Eric Greenlee for hooking it up.
Hooking up that BGT, that thingis sweet.
Matt got it shafted for me.
That thing feels great to me.
It's actually already in thebag.
I've only played two roundswith it and I've already

(55:38):
committed to it.
The G6 Carbon that I have is inthe closet, but I think it just
lines up great, the way it sitsthe plumber's neck, the way the
back flange kind of frames theball and I just visually, for me

(55:59):
it sets up great and um, yeah,I'm committed to it now.
I love it and I'm excited forit joe, let's, let's hear yours
it's so heavy, it's very heavy,very very

Speaker 1 (56:16):
very, very heavy I tell the guys I go he's gonna
have so many complaints aboutthis.
I just know he's gonna have somany complaints.
He's not gonna like the length,he's not gonna like the weight.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
It's so heavy, it's just like the head is so heavy.
But I play a very, very lightputter.
I mean I have the BGT tour inthe Wars Golf Co if you want to
call it that or Strokes GamePutter, and it's just very, very
heavy and it's going to takesome manipulation.

(56:50):
I did Eric, I got to get itswing weighted.
I'm probably going to go seeJulian and just have him swing
weight it for me and then I'llsend the head out to Eric just
to try and get it swing weighted.
You know I don't care that.
It's like.
You know I'm strong, right, soI can lift things, but it just,

(57:14):
it just feels so.
It just feels so heavy and theswing weight is so off.
And yeah, I just got to figurethat out.
I love it, though.
Like the craftsmanship, thelong neck I've wanted one for a
long time.
The stamping is remarkable.
I mean I love it, I want toplay it, but I just have to like
dial in the shaft, but when Ido it might be game over.

(57:40):
Look out so many, so it mightbe game over.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
Look out so many, so it might be game over.
Look out so many.
So many complaints, manycomplaints, many complaints.

Speaker 2 (57:45):
No, it's just.

Speaker 1 (57:46):
It just the swing no, it's just, it, just the swing
no, it's just it just the swingweight.

Speaker 2 (57:54):
My last one.
I asked you what the swingweight is.
You didn't know.
I thought you wrote all of ourstuff down in a notebook.

Speaker 1 (58:02):
That's for irons.
Putters are so different.

Speaker 2 (58:08):
It's all about feel.
Irons feel away, putters feelaway.
We put Jeremy's on the swingweight scale and I went oh my
god.
Uh, I mean, that's the bigthing is, is it?

(58:28):
Do we?
Does he leave scotty?

Speaker 5 (58:32):
I doubt it, like that's the big question here all
right, jeremy, let's hear itbig screen the putter's in the
closet currently next to thestrokes game, putter right next
to it in fact it keeps stickingto the strokes game head cover

(58:52):
because the magnet no, theverdict's still out.
I mean, I do love the looks ofit, it's so currently an
heirloom it's an heirloom forzane.
I should have had zane's namestamped on it.
Um yeah, scotty's in the bagright now and my stroke is
absolute trash, so I've actuallygot the long neck in the bag.

(59:14):
Trying to, I'm I will never geta mallet.
The long neck is the closest.
Trying to I will never get amallet.
The long neck is the closestthing to a mallet I will ever
get.
So it could make an appearance.
But I need, like Joe, it's justa totally different feel Like.
It is just not comfortable touse and I think it's a

(59:35):
combination of the carbon head.
I'm not used to that.
Yeah, think it's a combinationof the carbon head.
I'm not used to that yeah well, the shaft is not the shaft grip
is not the right setup yet, butI think we can dial it because I
really do like it.

Speaker 2 (59:48):
I do like the looks, it's just it's gonna, it's gonna
, it's gonna be passed down fromgeneration to generation.

Speaker 1 (59:56):
It might be pristine.
I could have beforehand.
I should have wrote on a pieceof paper and sealed it and put
in there.
Matt will game his He'll loveit.
Dan will game his He'll love it.
Joe will have 75 complaintsabout why it doesn't feel right,
I know I have one.
Jeremy will immediately go tothe closet.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
One complaint.
One complaint One complaint.
It just feels heavy.
That's it.
My strokes gain is very light, very, very light.
It's super duper light.

Speaker 4 (01:00:32):
Did you roll Jeremy's putter?
Jeremy's putter weighed in atan E2.

Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
Yeah, I love that slant naked on jeremy's putter.

Speaker 1 (01:00:44):
I think it looks so good dude when we were rolling
it in the backyard.
I couldn't believe how amazingit felt with that smooth face
blew me away.
It was not expecting that atall same.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
It felt like soft on a smooth face.
It's crazy, yeah, but to getjeremy out of a scotty is that's
like if you can do that, you'rea legend legendary.

Speaker 5 (01:01:11):
The thing is with scotty, for me is gss I played
them for so long that I knowwhat it's going to feel like.
It doesn't matter which blade Iuse.
They all feel the same and Iknow what it's going to do.
I distance control all thatkind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
There's just different variables like the
shaft or the grip and those aretwo things I definitely need to
to dial in on the goodwood, butso yeah, I'm curious, because
all scotty's stuff is gss right, german stainless steel right
not all of it, well, all ofjeremy's oh yeah all mine are

(01:01:48):
stainless steel.

Speaker 5 (01:01:49):
Yeah, I don't have a.
I don't have any more carbon.
It's a different way different.

Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
Feel right?
No, yeah, because they're justin your closet.

Speaker 5 (01:01:58):
You probably sorry several, but the thing is like I
could switch to any of them andthey would.
It would feel like home.
But switching to a putter thathas no milling, that's carbon,
that's heavy, it's just like atotally different thing and
that's what I struggled with atnational.
With that putter was like mystroke actually feels worse now

(01:02:21):
than it did before I startedusing it.
But I think you know you justhave to get used to it.
Any practice and whatever,interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Well, you got an heirloom now, so another one,
just put a, just stamp a scottycamera on it and, uh, pass it
down.
009 here's.

Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
Here's joe's.
Sorry, this is taking me toolong to get those.
There's the long neck I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
I've wanted ones for so long and then let me bring up
dan's.
This is the one I'm mostjealous about.
And then let me bring up Dan's.

Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
This is the one I'm most jealous about.

Speaker 5 (01:03:03):
Hello you little beauty, very nice butter.

Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
Yes, Julian's like uh , if he can do that in lefty, uh
done, yeah I love my part.

Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
Yeah, so I love my putter.

Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Yeah, so really, really happy with these.
Thanks so much, Dave.
When I posted my picture.

Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
Thrifty Golf DMV was like he's right by me, can you
tell him to send me some putters?

Speaker 5 (01:03:31):
I was like we'll have them on.
I'm sure we'll talk whatnotAbsolute excellent craftsmanship
even if it's on my, definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
If it sits on my shelf or anything like, I will
cherish that thing forever.
Incredible work, I love I loveit.

Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
I posted a video today on 18.
I had a birdie putt with thisand uh, dave sends me a message
like, yeah, you need to go getthat flattened a little bit.
I see that's just a little bittoo upright for my stroke right
now, so I putted well with ittoday.
Just, I mean you can ask Julian, I mean every we had so many
lips.
I mean the pins were like sharpcut and nothing fell in the

(01:04:15):
hole.
You had to be almost deadcenter cut to get him to drill.
Was that like for you guys onSaturday or no?

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
Do you?

Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
remember Not as much we had so many lip outs today I
mean so many.

Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
I think that's true.

Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
So hopefully I'll get that bent tomorrow.
I found out.
So we fit his name's Dr Freeman.
He owns a physio facility herein town and we fit him at TBC on
Saturday and I said, hey, canyou do me a favor?
I said I know you fixed Julianhis wrist.

(01:04:55):
I said, but can you take a lookat this knot I got in my
shoulder?
I just I can't get rid of it.
It's been bugging me for liketwo weeks.
He goes, yeah, sure.
So he does a couple of things.
He's like oh yeah, you got arib out of place.
I said what?
And he said, yeah, he goes.
That's my number one, numberone injury in tennis players and
rib in the back.
He goes, it's just out of placeand it's pushing on the muscle.

(01:05:18):
He goes.
Unfortunately I can't give youan exercise to do it, but you
come see me, I'll pop it back inplace and, uh, get you, get you
going good.
And I'm like, okay.
I said I haven't been.
I've been sleeping like shitfor two weeks.
I can't get comfortable.
If I go play, then I'm likejust on the couch for you know,
a couple hours just trying toget it to feel comfortable.

(01:05:38):
So doing that tomorrow because, with the tournament coming up,
I want to get it done, solooking forward to a good
night's sleep tomorrow night,hopefully.
Don't get old, don't get old,you just pop ribs out doing
dishes.
I've never even heard of that arib out oh yeah, he's like yeah,

(01:06:00):
it's just out of place and youknow it's.
It's irritating the musclearound it, it's inflamed and
that's why it feels like a nod.
It's not a nod, it's justirritation.
And he goes well, we'll get itall taken care of.
All right, we'll see whathappens.
So dad issues.
Man.
Don't get old man telling youif you can do anything to stop
getting old, do it now.

(01:06:22):
Unavoidable spirulina, spirulinawell, would you look at that.
We've got an hour and sixminutes unbelievable back on a

himself.
I'm going to go Shane Lowry.
Oh, that's a good pick, thankyou, I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
That was a terrible picture.
I'm sorry, Dan, who you got?
I was going to pick Shane.

Speaker 4 (01:09:18):
Lowry, to be honest with you Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:09:21):
I was going to pick.

Speaker 4 (01:09:21):
Shane Lowry, because yeah, that guy has like 10 or 12
straight top 10 or 15 finishesor something.
He's playing hot.
But I'll go with the obviouspick, fuck it, I'll take.

Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
Rory yeah, that's not , I mean super, just chalk.

Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
I'll take Rory.
I can have a secondary pick.
Don't take mine, don't do it,I'm not, I'm going to go with
more of a long shot here.

Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
JT no not JT.

Speaker 4 (01:09:52):
I'm going to go.
If I have a long shot, I'mgoing to go.
I don't even know.
If I have a long shot, I'mgonna go.
I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:01):
Michael Block.

Speaker 4 (01:10:02):
Mike Block no, no, no , yeah, I'm a blocky.
Corey, connors, corey.
Connors would be my longer shot, jeremy, do you have?

Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
somebody in mind besides Jordan or you?
You definitely think the GrandSlam is taking place.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
It's happening right.

Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
It's the year of the Grand Slam.
I really really hope so.

Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
Two Grand Slams in one year.
How sick would that be?

Speaker 5 (01:10:24):
That would be awesome .

Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
I don't know if that's ever happened before.
I mean, there's only what fivepeople that have it right.
So yeah, I don't think it'shappened before.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
I would say it happened Saheeth DeGala.

Speaker 5 (01:10:41):
Love Saheeth.
Good pick.
It's the entry-level majorright.

Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
Enter to the major here.

Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
So this will surprise probably a lot of people.
I'm going with Bryson.
I like Bryson too.
I can seeryson winning thisthing by six seven strokes.

Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
So hey, shut up harry hall, he's in the field yeah,
harry's in the field, harrylet's go, harry dark horse right
there.

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
That would be awesome .
He's been playing well.
He's been getting top 20s allover the place, so you know he's
he's uh earning these spots andand uh would love to see him
get in that uh, you know top 25end of the year status and and
uh, you know he's doing goodthings.
He was uh number one in puttsmade distance wise, and I think

(01:11:33):
he was two in strokes gameputting and he had an Odyssey in
the back, just no.

Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
Hey, did you know Bryson has a clubs tool in his
pocket?
Did you know that.
Yes, might give him power towin Magic wand.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
Just think he's going to light that place up, so he
can, for sure.
So those are our picks.
Uh, have fun this week,everybody.
Uh, we'll be back next week.
We'll be talking about the vgn,uh tournaments and we'll see
who's gonna be playing thisthing their next round.
Uh, we got uh the pgachampionship.
