Matt Marino takes us on an unforgettable journey through his remarkable golf career, from impulsively moving to Las Vegas as a young caddie to opening Tiger Woods' first American golf course, Blue Jack National.

With candid charm, Matt shares how a simple business card and the bold declaration "I'm going to be your first head golf professional" led to his role launching Tiger's groundbreaking course. His insights into course design reveal why difficulty shouldn't be the primary measure of greatness – a perspective gained from playing many of America's top-ranked venues.

The conversation shifts to Matt's latest venture with Tradition Golf and his unexpected success on the Whatnot platform, where his first impromptu livestream generated $6,500 in sales. This new frontier of digital golf commerce represents what Matt believes is just the beginning of a revolutionary change in how golfers buy, sell, and connect.

We get exclusive details about Matt's upcoming $1,000 match against fellow Whatnot seller Off Tour Truck on July 21st, which has evolved into a charitable event supporting Texas flood victims. This match exemplifies how digital platforms are creating new ways to blend competition, community, and commerce in the golf world.

Whether you're fascinated by course architecture, curious about digital golf commerce, or simply enjoy authentic conversations about the game's evolution, Matt's perspective offers fresh insights on where golf has been and where it's heading. His philosophy that "you always need something to look forward to" perfectly captures why golf trips, relationships, and new ventures keep the game eternally engaging.

Join us for this wide-ranging conversation that touches on everything from Matt's top course recommendations (Oakmont and Maidstone make his list) to why he believes Sand Valley might be the ultimate golf destination. His honesty, humor, and passion for the game make this episode an essential listen for anyone who loves golf's past while embracing its future.

Oh, thank you for being on now.
Now, I don't know the historybetween you and Dan, so let's
start with how you guys knoweach other, and then we'll get
into a little bit about you andwhat your golf life has been all

(02:13):
about.
Awesome.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Do you want to tell the histories, Dan, or do you
want me to tell the history?

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Well, we can leave some stories out.
We can leave the stories out, good idea Good idea leave some
stories out.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Good idea?
Uh, no.
So I met dan through a mutualfriend back in the year of, uh,
2002.
Uh, yeah, it would have been2002, early august, and dan was
living in vegas.
I was, I was going to school inla, I was a freshman in college
and, uh, we met a good mutualfriend, mike Mendoza.
And shout out to Mike Mendoza, head pro at shadow Ridge golf
course in California.
And at the end of my freshmanyear, after playing a year of

(02:54):
college golf, my buddy Mike saidhey, remember my boy Dan we
played golf with.
He's caddying out of golfcourse out in Vegas.
It just opened and it's like weshould move out there and go
get it.
You should leave college and weshould go caddy for for a
living.
So, uh, I go home, I drive fromla back to colorado springs, I
pull in the driveway and I seemy parents and I'm like, yeah, I

(03:17):
think I'm gonna take a year offof school.
Um, they're like, oh, what areyou gonna do?
Move to las vegas and I'm gonnacaddy.
That's amazing, don't worry, when your college was only, you
know, a 35 000 a year college,no scholarship or whatever.
And my mom's like awesome, goodluck, you're on your own.

(03:38):
So I called dan, mike, and mikewas already there.
Dan was already there, uh, witha couple buddies, buddies and I
called him and I said, hey, I'mcoming, I'll be there, I'll be
there August 15th.
So I'd spent the summer at homeand I said I'll be there August
15th.
So I drove there.
I have no job, I have no placeto live.
Dan's caddying and Dan gets mean interview with Joeing.

(04:07):
I go into the caddy barn, I gotan interview, um, and joe
basically hires me on the spot.
He's like great.
And so I was like, hey, cool, can I borrow a golf cart and run
out on the golf course and liketell dan and mike that like I
got hired yeah, so I drive outthere and I remember what hole
it was on.
I drive up to dan on and I waslike dan, I got hired, he goes.
Great, go find us a place tolive.
I've never been to Vegas before.

(04:27):
I've never been to Vegas andSummerlin was kind of like
expanded it's like 2002.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
So like.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Flamingo wasn't finished right, like it ended at
the Roadrunner basically youknow, 215 wasn't done.
They just built all those likeSaharan Town Center.
They just built all those newapartment complexes.
Red Rock wasn't there.
Yeah, I actually drove by ourapartment original apartment

(04:53):
complex when I was there justrecently, but it's funny, but
anyway.
So like Town Center, like Idrove down the street from Bears
Best, I hop on Town Center.
I literally pull into the firstapartment complex that's on the
right.
It's a brand new, brand newapartment complex.
I walk in like he literally hasit open for like a couple of
weeks.
I was like, do you have anyapartments to rent?
And the lady's like yeah, letme tell you one.
So we go, I'm brand new threebedroom Nobody lived in it Three

(05:14):
bedroom apartment and, um, wedidn't have anything.
And I was the youngest right, dance, dance, dance.
A little older than me, mike's,a little older than me, I was,
I was, I was even 21, I was, uh,I guess I was 20, um, and uh,

(05:34):
yeah.
And then the caddyshack.
We lived that caddyshack lifefor for years just looping in
vegas, being boys playing golfchase, you know, just doing,
doing chasing girls that was atBears Best.
Yeah, that was right after BearsBest opened?

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Were you there the day the dead body was found in
the parking lot?
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Oh wow, In the yellow Humvee.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I think Dan found it actually.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
In the yellow Humvee.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Dan found it, I did.
Yep, it was so funny becauseyou know you think back at like
time and you know we all payyour mortgages and rent or
whatever.
Now right, but like vegas wasso cheap.
Then you know our firstapartment, three bedrooms, brand
new, on town center drive.
We paid twelve hundred dollars amonth I was gonna say twelve
hundred too and I was tellingthe story today, I was like I

(06:20):
was so irresponsible as a 20year old like I went.
That's.
We had four guys there.
I think we had one guy livingon the couch.
Jj was living on the couch.
We each had our own I think forsome reason they gave me the
master bedroom.
I think maybe I had to pay alittle bit more rent.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
But like this is how irresponsible.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
We were printing money like we were making good
money back in the day and, uh,it's how irresponsible.
I think my rent was like 230bucks or 330 bucks.
Like there's one month where wegambled so much and and gambled
so much on the golf course likeI couldn't make rent and I had
to like, damn, can I borrow 230to pay her pay rent?
I mean, just have fun.
We were irresponsible youngguys having a great time

(06:57):
caddying, playing golf, you know, doing whatever that.
And then the rest is history.
Right, we've been for 23 years,24 years now, I guess.
So that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
That's what's golf man bringing people together
crazy, bro.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Golf brings so many people together and that's
what's so weird.
Like we've been friends withdan for since we threw that
event at.
Uh pi, legends never die and weall heard this story of this
mythical matt guy.
Right like we show up topurcell and dan's like let me
call my buddy matt.
And then, oh, you guys are good, now go ahead and go, you know,

(07:31):
and it's just like, and thenlike I will get into that, but
then I rated you not evenknowing, and then it like sparks
relationships.
Like golf is incredible.
But like dan has told us a tonof stories and we, we just we
didn't know you.
So how did how did your life, how did how did it evolve into
where you've come from and whereyou are now?

Speaker 2 (07:55):
sure, yeah, um, man, just I guess grinding, like I
mean we catch, we caddy in vegasfor a couple years and then I
went back and played for anotheryear of junior college golf out
in Southern California and Iwas like man, this school's just
not for me.
So I went back and caddied.
We moved back in with Dan andMike.
We rented a house, we had afive-bedroom house over by TPC
Summerlin, caddied for a coupleof years and you felt like you

(08:16):
could do it forever.
That was right about the time,um, and we were all like
debating, like, are we going tojump to the wind?
Are we going to leave bears Ican't remember if bears have
been sold or whatever and, um, Idon't know, man, it was hot in
vegas.
So I remember one year I wenthome for the summer, um, back to
colorado to see my folks and Iwas going to loop.

(08:36):
So I got a looping job out atcastle pines uh, golf course,
which is the hardest run for afour caddy of all times great,
great workout.
I met this guy.
That's career, right, this, okay, this career caddy named
chunk, uh, chunk.
So everybody had a caddy nick.
If you're a caddy and youdidn't have a nickname.
Um, you were a real caddy, right?

(08:56):
So I met chunk, we're gonna,like I mentioned he's like, um,
hey, he goes, I gotta, I gottaloop at this place called
columbine country club.
Um, tomorrow, like, you want tocome loop loop with me?
And I was like, yeah, sure, like why no?
I was like I'm from colorado, grew up in colorado, uh,
colorado springs.
I mean, I played everywhere incolorado at this point, uh, but
I never played columbine.
They're gonna call mine anddude, host the 1967 pj

(09:20):
championship walk in the park.
In comparison to uh, and just aclassic, just one of my
favorite golf courses in thecountry.
We grabbed two bags each and wego, we go.
It was leisurely walk.
The call my country was like,so easy.
I was like I'm never, I'm notleaving.
So I ended up.
I was caddying for the presidentof the club that day.
His name is Tom Alley and hegoes.
Dana Lupe goes.
Man, would you be interested inbeing our caddy master here?

(09:46):
I'm like that's a deathsentence, right, because caddies
we make good cash and caddymasters you don't make anything,
right?
You know the caddies go out andmake good money and you're just
making a salary.
Um, I was like, yeah sure.
So it was a w.
It was, uh, they wanted to starta western golf association
chick evans caddy program there.
Uh, which I grew up in one atthe broadmoor hotel and caddy
was a big part of my life.
I started counting when I was12 years old and caddy was a big
part of my life.
I started caddy when I was 12years old and caddy golf through
school and I had to, you know,go caddy to make money to play,

(10:07):
you know, junior golftournaments because my parents,
just you know they made me earnit right and uh, so we started
this caddy program, ended up,you know, I remember our first
year we did like 120 loops inthe caddy program training a
bunch of 12 and 13 year old kidshow to carry bags and 15 year
old kids.
And I think the next year thatwas our first summer the next
summer we did 2,700 loops.
We got our first caddy Evan'sscholarship to University of

(10:32):
Colorado, cu Boulder, and thatcaddy program now is awesome and
sustainable and I was there forseven years.
Eventually, after the first yearI moved into the golf shop and
they gave me an opportunity tobecome an assistant pro.
The general manager said I'llpay for your PGA schooling if
you'll do it so like adegenerate golf pro.
I didn't do anything for thefirst two years past my PAT, you

(10:53):
know, went out and shot a goodround, shot past my PAT and then
didn't do my book work and Iwas about to get suspended from
the PGA and the head pro justthe apprentice program.
Cause if you don't do anythingfor two years you book work, you
get suspended.
So the head pro got fired.
I wasn't even.
I was basically about to bekicked out of the apprentice
program.

(11:13):
A new pro came in.
His name was Sean Strom and hecame in from Escondido in Texas
and he walks in the shop, hefires the other three assistants
like day one guys I'd workedwith for like a couple of years
and he looks me in the eye andhe goes you have one week to
complete level one.
Usually level one takes youlike two years.
So he said I'm going to pay youto sit in the boardroom and do

(11:34):
your book work until you're done.
So I sat in that boardroom for18 hours a day typing my level
one, and that was back in theday where you had to type it up
on a computer, print it out, putit in the binder of death and
then ship this thing off to thepj for grading um and your whole
life in a binder.
And so I.
I did that.
I went down, I sent it in, Igot, went down to the level one

(11:57):
seminar passed, passed there.
Uh, I got back and he's likecongratulations, you passed
level one.
You guys, you've got two weeksto do level two oh my god so,
geez, yeah, and I was, and, andsean, I mean I like thank a lot
of my career to sean, becausesometimes you just need somebody
to kick you in the butt and belike you know, this is what
you're capable of doing right,so, um, so yeah, so knock that

(12:17):
out.
You know, obviously I hold youa little bit in between, but I
think we in the in the end, fromlike when I really started
doing the books work to thetesting, I think I did the whole
program.
I can't remember if it was like11 or 18 months it was pretty
quick.
Uh got elected to pga membershipand then my my career just kind
of kept going.
So I was at Columbine for uhfor seven years.
Uh, I went to the club atPradera as the first assistant,

(12:37):
which is in Parker, colorado.
Uh, for a year.
And then one day I was on amember trip in arizona and my
phone rang and it was my oldboss, sean, and he said
dauphinsterwald jr is going tocall you and offer you a job at
colonial in five minutes.
And so, whatever you do I don'tknow where you are, but you say
yes- yes, I've never been totexas before, um, and I was like

(12:59):
okay, that's weird.
Five minutes later I get a callfrom a fort worth number and
it's dauphinsterwald and and thelegend of dow dow's been at
colonial for he's now the proemeritus at colonial but dow at
the time was at colonial for 30years.
His father, dow senior, obviously won the 57 pga 40.
That would be the lanark uhtwo-time rider cup captain um,
you know obviously, hall offamer, um, and dow goes.

(13:21):
He has a really funny voice inthis really southern so I'll try
to do the best of you.
Like hey, I heard you're thebest that there is in the
business and you come down hereand and and help me run the show
here.
What do you say?
And I'm like, well, I was likeI'll be there tomorrow, so I
went down, flew down to colonialuh and uh got hired on the spot
.
Um, two weeks of.

(13:46):
I went back my wife wasteaching with my ex-wife now but
uh, she was teaching.
I said, hey, we're moving tofort worth.
Um, she said well, I gottafinish the year.
So I moved out.
I lived it.
I moved with alicia singer whois the director of retail.
She just retired from colonialum after tournament this year.
She's been there for a longtime.
I didn't have any place to live.
I lived with her for about amonth, kind of got my feet wet.
I was at colonial for threeyears, three tournaments.
It was awesome, great place, obviously one of my favorite

(14:07):
golf courses.
And then I was at a pgateaching summit and I ran into a
guy.
I heard they were buildingtiger woods's first golf course
in the country and it was goingto be in houston.
And uh, there was a guy and itwas 100 golf pros at a teaching
summit and there was a guysitting at the front right table
, uh, and he was dressed and hehad a button, white, button-up
shirt and dan's met this guy.

(14:27):
So this is kind of funny, he gota white button-up shirt and a
pink sweater around hisshoulders and on the butt.
On the sleeve of his cuff, hehad bluejack national logo and
the other one he had lanternasset management and he was
pretty engaging.
During he was engaged answeringquestions, I was, you know, I'm
and um.
At the end of the seminar Iwalked up to him and I said hey,
you know, you're awesome, youwere great today.

(14:47):
He's older guy.
Uh, so you were awesome today, like like um.
And he goes oh, you did reallygood too.
And I said, uh, so what do you?
I saw your blue Jack logo.
As I heard about blue Jack, Iheard there, you know tigers
building, are you the head, areyou the head pro there, or the
gm?
He goes, oh, I'm the developer.
And I'm like, oh, awesome.
And I reached in my back pocket.
I swear to god, this is the xrand he'll mr mike abbott, um, mr

(15:10):
a, as everybody calls him, mr a, he'll tell the story the exact
same way.
I reached in my back pocket andI handed him my business card.
I looked him in the eye and Isaid I'm gonna be your first
head golf professional and Iwalked away baller move, baller
move, I don't know why I'm notme, that's not me, but like
shoot your shot, I guess, whenyou have a chance, yeah you felt
it, bro, it was, yeah, thatsoul, bro, the soul of golf,

(15:32):
right there just six monthslater six months later and seven
interviews, uh, I got hired asthe as the head golf
professional at blue jacknational and got to open up uh,
tiger's first golf course in thecountry.
So it was pretty awesome.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Amazing, that's amazing yeah, so all right real
quick, real quick.
I gotta know what were you, what were you going to school
for that you never went back for?

Speaker 2 (15:55):
oh, golf and girls and beer, I don't know uh, um, I
mean, I've got some, you know, marketing, sales, uh,
communications, whatever theathlete I guess does, whatever
the easiest route.
I wasn't the best student, uh,I didn't ever take school
seriously, to be totally honest,um, but I I did have to take it
seriously for one year when Itransferred to citrus.
Uh, because I basically failedout of everything at whittier

(16:17):
before I left.
Uh, when I went to be eligibleyeah, whittier, whittier college
.
When I went to whittittier or Iwent to transfer to Citrus, I
said well, let's see what youhave to do to be eligible for
golf.
And so the golf coach takes meinto the admissions office.
He wants to be on the golf teamhere.
What does he have to do?
And the lady said he has totake 21 units and he has to get

(16:37):
a 3.9 or better to be eligiblefor the golf season.
I had never been like over a 3.0student, so uh, yeah Well,
because my GPA was so low fromyou know my previous, you know
schooling.
So for the first time in mylife I ever tried in school.
I sat in the front row of everyclass.
I never left school without myhomework done.

(16:58):
I studied for every test and Igot a four oh and uh in that
first semester and I goteligible for golf and I played
on the golf team with our boy, kyle Mendoza.
So good times.
But you never know what you cando until somebody challenges
you Absolutely.
Wow, oh and I'm no longer a BlueJack?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
obviously no you're not a Blue Jack.
So what is your tradition?
Golf.
What is what you're doing now?
All about oh gosh, uh, and not, not, whatnot.
Yet we'll get into that, okay,oh well, well okay, yeah, well,
so, uh, the tradition is uh.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
So I work in oil and gas now, um, I'm the the VP of
sales and marketing for, uh, uh,a pipeline logistics company
here in Houston, and, uh, therewere some big industry golf
tournaments, um, and uh, so Idecided to start my own and it
was called the tradition Um, andso I basically started a really
high end member guest for oiland gas, um, executives, um it

(18:05):
mostly in the pipeline space, so, um, mainline contractors that
build big pipelines, um, andthen they would invite their
best clients, so, from the gascompany side, um, and I would be
gonna throw this incrediblefour-day party, uh, at a resort.
I would buy out an entire resort, uh, every room, and
everybody's gonna bring theirspouse, and we're gonna have

(18:25):
four different dinners and we'regonna, we're gonna have this
epic golf tournament with greatswag, um, and so we did that.
Uh, we just hosted our fourthfor our fourth year, um, next
year will be our fifthanniversary and, um, I don't
want to say oh, because there'ssome great events in the
industry, but this isn't like acharity scramble, this isn isn't
a one day thing, this is a fourday bonanza, and so that's

(18:48):
where the tradition came fromand the tradition off is
something new and exciting thatwe're we're getting ready to
launch.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
How running those events?
How how much time does thatconsume out of your like real
job?

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Yeah, I have a really nice boss, so obviously he's a,
he's a major sponsor of ourevent.
Uh, the company I work for, um,uh, so he's obviously our
biggest sponsor.
He's a great guy, um.
But yeah, I mean, basicallywhen I start planning, you know
we'll go, we'll send outinvoicing and do some initial
planning.
You know, october, november, invoices hit in December and
then basically from January, soour event's always the first
week of May.

(19:30):
So from January to May I spenda lot of time weekly working on
the tradition, ordering products, doing menus, working with the
resort.
Shout out, I guess can I saythe name of the resort.
Are you guys like okay withthat?
Absolutely, can I say the nameof the resort he goes like?

Speaker 4 (19:41):
okay.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Absolutely, we do it at Purcell farms in Alabama,
which I know you guys have beento.
God, I love that place.
We stumbled upon it.
But the GM, my group, my hope,my group host there, ryan Smith,
she's awesome.
Michael, the GM there, thewhole team at Purcell farms,
when I, when I called them andtold them I wanted to buy the

(20:11):
resort out for four days, theybasically they basically hung up
on me um, there's no one right, and I was like, yeah, no, for
real.
Like, uh, you know, we werelike what does it cost?
Like every room four days, well, the whole golf course,
whatever.
And then we kind of want towrite menus.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Uh, they didn't quick , quick side question.
So you did that right, and I'mtrying to think of timelines.
Right, like four or five yearsago, is when Purcell started
actually blowing up.
Am I correct in that thinking?
Do you guys agree?
I think it gained a lot ofnotoriety Right.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
Potentially you might have helped Especially with the
YouTube golf.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
You know what I mean, like you potentially helped
purcell blow up.
Also one of the greatest logosI've ever played.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
I love that fucking logo cool logo the golf the cat,
the golfing cow with the tie.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Yeah yeah, but I think I, I think maybe my you
may have had something to dowith that.
Potentially, I don't don't know, I'm just thinking Great golf
course.
You didn't build it, but youknow Just the story of that
place.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Right, you guys know.
I mean, when you guys were downthere did you guys get into the
history of that place a littlebit.
Yeah, how much rock.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
they moved out of there and what it was?

Speaker 4 (21:22):
The different strains of grass that they were trying
to grow out there and thefertilizers and all that stuff
yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Maybe we got videos on the tree swing and tires.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Did you go swing on the tire swing?

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
I really want them to like redo that, like make it
like really awesome, becauseit's kind of tucked away there,
you know left of left of seven, but what a cool, it's a cool,
such a cool feature there what'syour favorite what's your
favorite hole at purcell farms?

Speaker 4 (21:53):
fuck me, it was uh 16 or 17.
The par 3 over the water.
Par 3 over the water, yeah yeah, I love that 17.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yeah, that was my favorite.
I would say that that was myfavorite.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
I like the first hole too.
I mean it's subtle but it's areally good like.
Welcome to the forum.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
I do think.
The opening, what is it like?
Five holes, what's the holeafter the drop, the big drop?
Is that four or five, that'ssix, okay.
The par five, the par five thatgoes down into the left, yeah,
yeah, that whole opening to thatpart five is fantastic yeah I'd
love to take you guys.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
We should all go there together because I would
love to take you to some of the, like the secret places they're
like did you guys stay no, no,we're gonna say we're gonna get
a cottage, we'll get a cottage,we'll stay there.
We'll get a cottage on 18 orwe'll get the Parker lodge on 17
, the big house, and we'll godown and stay and play and we'll
take you up.
You got to go to secret place.
Like secret place there is thehighest point in Alabama and you

(22:56):
can take a, we'll take, we'llget a buggy, we'll get one of
the UTVs's cool they have, like, you know, they do some, they do
some stuff.
They got a big cross up there.
Um, you know, the purcellfamily is super religious and
they have a really great, um,you know, attachment to the, to
the church there.
But, man, you get up on top ofa secret place and you're like
alabama, you're, yeah, everything you can see forever.
And it's really cool like wewent up there, uh, one morning

(23:19):
just this year for at our event.
Just you know, my wife and Iand um and another couple, and
it's just like, if you just takelike 10 minutes, like it's, I'm
not a very religious person, but it's, it was pretty cool, it
was a pretty cool spot.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
So hey, one second rob.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
Rob had a question about colonial joe hang on.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
He says uh colonial question.
Do you know brian shorston?
Played junior golf against himin high school back in Ohio in
the late 1990s.
I know he's been at Colonialfor years.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah.
So Brian and I worked atColonial together.
He was our director ofinstruction.
He's a great, he's a stick.
By the way, he played for Akron.
He was an Akron zip.
So I have a couple of nicknamesfor Brian Sh shorston.
So I call him I.
I called him jersey by theshore, but I really called him
paper bag, because every time hewould go and play golf he had

(24:08):
the sickest short game and Itold him one day I was like dude
, you could get it up and downfrom a wet paper bag, like you
were.
I always used to call it paperum and now brian um, dow um.
When they when dow, when theymoved down to the pro emeritus
job, they made brian Brian thehead golf professional or
director of golf at Colonial.
And man could have picked abetter job guy for the for the

(24:33):
job Two beautiful youngdaughters.
He's been going through somehealth stuff, but man, I'll tell
you he's just one of theclassiest dudes around.
Love that guy.
I don't think I've ever heardanything Anybody say a bad thing
about him.
He's really good.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Shout out Ohio boys, ohio boys.

Speaker 2 (24:52):

Yeah, jimmy Walker, yep, jimmyWalker played with him.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
He loves Jimmy Walker .
You look like Jimmy Walker.
I played with him.
A loves Jimmy Walker.
You look like Jimmy Walker.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Hopefully you stick around.
Awesome, we also got birdie ina can too.
Shut up, birdie in a can.
Let's well, you change yourname.
I can't remember your name, butshut up, kevin.
Was that labubu?
That's labubu, but I'm tryingto, I'm trying to get rid of
that, but wait, that was thewhole that was the whole dj
night that I'm trying to.
I'm trying to rid the homiekevin of the lububu tag because
I feel like it's a littledegrading.

(26:50):
But it was a whole dj night andsorry to bring it up.
Don't get suspended, joe so, uh,no, I won't um the for us you
were talking about purcell andlike for me being like you were
talking about me and Matt beingraised in Vegas, right, like
that was my first trip to thesouth, south, south, right.
So we played Lake Reynolds, wewon a tournament, uh, through

(27:14):
via five iron golf, um, and wewe played Lake Reynolds for two
days.
Then we went up to Macklemoreand then we stopped by Sweetens
Cove and we all played sick golfat Sweetens Cove.
Shit.
Yeah, inside.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
We were on the putting green for two and a half
hours.
No no, we were out playing, ofcourse.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
If you want to know it, you go back in the archives,
you can hear it anyway.
And then we went down topurcell and, uh, drive, driving
into purcell.
I mean I feel like I rememberthis moment vividly.
I was like looking at matt, like the fuck is this like?
Where are we going?
This is crazy, you know beingfrom vegas fucking cow.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
Right there, dude, I've never had a cow in my life
my wife's from northeast alabama.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
So I was like I'm like you're in for a treat
because alabama is beautifulit's so underrated for how much
beauty there is there.
But yeah, joe was uh out of hisI was pretty shocked.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Yeah, and that's what I love about golf too.
Like, just to say real quick, like I, I watched TV, I sat on
my couch, I used to be askateboarder, I'd go around town
skateboard.
But like golf has taken me intodifferent situations, like I've
seen more of the country in mylife because of golf, that's it.

(28:44):
I mean like I would have nevertraveled to uh, what is that?
That's southeast alabama.
I never would have went tosoutheast alabama in my life,
but golf brought me there andgolf brings you to these special
places that you'll neverexperience and that's that's why
I love it.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
But um and then we what?

Speaker 2 (29:05):
special.
Yeah, that last drive, thatlast part of that drive in from
birmingham, like when you'relike 10 minutes out from bur,
from purcell farms, and you'redriving through all the trailers
, like the trailer parks, they're like there ain't no way
there's a good golf coursearound here yeah, yeah, when you
see a dollar, yeah when.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Yeah, we did.
When you see a dollar generalevery 20 minutes and a dollar
general in a church in a churchand a church yeah, you know,
generals are everywhere,everywhere, everywhere that's a.
That's a talk about a billiondollar company, right, holy moly

(29:42):
, you know you're in vegasyou're, you're, you're in vegas
and you're looking how's dollargeneral work that much?
And then you go take a tripdown there.
You're like, oh, I get it I getit now.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
They're everywhere, seriously they're around like
fucking starbucks and hey, matt, have you played cider ridge in
alabama?
Have I played where cider ridgein?

Speaker 2 (30:04):
alabama, oh, where's that it's.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
It's uh oxford.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
It's kind of near uh talladega oh, okay, uh, oh, so
that sounds like robert jonestrail area.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay is it a public golf course
yeah, it's a public it's, it'soff what's oh, yeah, 20 that
goes from atlanta intobirmingham yeah, it's off.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
That goes from Atlanta into Birmingham.
Matt only plays top 100 privatecourses.
That's not true.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Is it near Shoal Creek?
Is it near Shoal Creek?
No, Shoal Creek's in there.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Find the closest top 100 and I'll figure out how to
get to it from there.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
We were talking about the Alabama coursesama courses
and uh, a friend, uh, that has ashow called.
Uh, let us play um or let'sgolf whatever let's golf.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Yeah, let's go I always say let's play.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
I don't know why it's , let's go.
Uh they were talking about, uhthey had an incident with a golf
cart and, like they were asking, what's the scariest things
ever happened to you on a golfcart?
And for me it happened therebecause it's very it's very
uphill and downhill and itstarted raining and we were
going downhill and the carlocked up and it was just a free
fall and I'm like we're goingin the ditch and uh pulled out

(31:18):
of it but that's what made methink about alabama golf and and
that so have you done much ofthe trail?

Speaker 2 (31:24):
have have you guys done any of the?
Robert Gendo.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
I've done Silver Lakes.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
No, so when we went down there, we were supposed to
play.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Ross Bridge, but it was closed.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
But it was closed.
But we found a little somethingoff the beaten path that was
sick.
Shout out, jerry PateTimberline is a sleeper.
Yep, okay, timberline is afucking sleeper.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
I like the Meadows better.
No, don't go play the Meadows.
Don't listen to that.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
Don't go play the Meadows.
Timberline is a very, very, very Fun golf course just south
of Birmingham.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
That place was sick.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Very fun.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
I didn't enjoy it because I had like the worst
Chipotle the night before andhad to sleep on Basically a hard
.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
Love seat.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
That's the last time I the worst Chipotle the night
before and had to sleep on,basically a hard love seat.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
That's the last time I ever had Chipotle.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
That's the thing, though.
That's the thing about golftrips, though they bring out,
like he's talking about, a lotof like innuendos, of like
stories that happen, and that'swhat's so dope about golf trips
and golf trips are easily myfavorite thing to do, easily my
favorite thing in the world golftrips are the best.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
I get to do them a lot and yeah, you're right man,
just the stories and thecamaraderie, and it doesn't
matter how you play and um, youknow the brotherhood and the
friendships that you create fromgolf.
And obviously you guys.
I remember when you guysstarted popping up on dan,
they're like I had never met youguys and I'm like everything
Dan was posting on Instagramlike had you guys on it and I'm
like who are these dudes?
Like who's still on?

(32:49):
Like, I'm like it's not Barber,it's not me, it's not like Dan's
got new, dan's got new friendsand you guys are just out
playing golf listening and thenlike it is all the time like
okay, hey, we've never we allmoved in with dan's got new
friends, like, and this is cool, but you guys have done this, uh

(33:10):
, this golf adventure togetherand I love, I love watching you
guys.
Uh, you know, go around, I eatyourself up.
You know dan's dance moves andy'all at mackinac I don't know,
sometimes I don't know whatyou're doing, where you're
playing, but man, it's, it's,it's.
It's awesome just to see abunch of brothers go out and
play and have fun, and that'swhat golf's about.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
Y'all are doing, that's 100%, 100% have you guys
done a gosh darn it.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Have you guys done anything with random golf club
at all?
Or have you guys done a madscramble?

Speaker 4 (33:43):
I have joe have I have yeah like, I feel like so,
uh, yeah because, so there was,uh, there was a long.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
There was, um shit, I can't even remember.
I know jr what's, uh, what's?

Speaker 5 (33:57):
the heart of your home is brett, brett, brett
brett yeah, he moved to arizona.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
they used to be in charge of the Las Vegas chapter
and I went out there.
And he's in Arizona still doinggreat things.
The random golf club chapter inArizona is fantastic.
Shout out Brett.
I got to play with him atAction Southern Dunes two years
ago.
Didn't make it work this yearwhen I was down there, but he's

(34:22):
a homie, I mean, and that is thevibe, right, and that's.
It's so much fun.
It's chaos, it's fucking chaos,but it's so much fun.
And there's people intersectingfrom all areas of culture and
the world and industries, andand that's a microcosm of what

(34:43):
golf is in a nature, in thenature of it, right, you know.
So I love it.
I can't do it all the time, right, I would love to, but I
don't want to see falls.
I haven't done the mad scrambleno.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Okay, got you.
You guys all have to you have.
Next time they roll throughVegas, buy your $35 ticket.
I think they're coming soon.
I think, yeah, they are.
They're going to wrap theirMass Gravel Tour on the West
Coast, so you guys aredefinitely going to get hit.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
You guys would love it For me.
When I started playing golfagain in 2018, I played a little
bit as a kid, but my YouTubealgorithm pushed me Adventures
in Golf from Eric Anders Lang.
That's why it triggered the bugagain, so that's how I got into
it.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
He's the best storyteller in golf really good
really good, 100, 100, um.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
But that's what triggered it to me to get back
in.
In 2018.
I posted an og hitting greenslittle baby boy on a palmer bag
for christmas picture on myinstagram, but, um, my dad
wouldn't buy me new clubs, uh.
When I was like 10 and I said, hey, fuck this game, you know.
But then in 2018, that youtubealgorithm hit me with the

(36:01):
adventures in golf.
And then I've been hooked eversince.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
You know, killer, killer I went to blake
northwoods because of adventuresin golf oh, I want to get there
.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
So bad so bad.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
I want to go to iceland because of adventures in
golf yeah, yeah, that wasinsane yes yes, that's the thing
, though, bro.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
Like with golf, like you go on a trip with your
friends, you'll create your ownadventure in golf, and that's
what adventure in golf is like.
What he tells the story like.
He might tell you where to go,but even if you go somewhere
else with your friends, it'sgonna.
It's gonna create an adventurein golf like right, we all.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
That's the thing they talk about.
When you go to a mad scrambleand I've been fortunate, I've
done three of them, um, and youknow we are talking they'd
always talk about like, hey, everybody's here, we're all from
different backgrounds.
It's exactly what you're saying, like we know, we don't know
people, a lot of people, there'sa hundred people, we're all
going to go play a scramble.
You know, we all know eachother.
We're all here because of onething, right, we all love golf.

(37:05):
So golf's bringing us alltogether and with the
friendships and the memories andall the stuff that we'll
develop over the course of thenext three hours, that's the
most important thing and it'ssomething super, super pure in
the game that it's kind ofbrought back together because
golf can be divided, right, you,you know, from the public side

(37:26):
to the resort side, to the, theprivate side.
Golf is golf live pga side thelive side, the pga tour side.
Which side are you on?
I'll tell you which one.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Yeah I know, we, we know, we know matt are you a lab
guy?

Speaker 2 (37:38):
are you not a lab guy .
We know you want to go downthat road?

Speaker 1 (37:44):
I do.
Did you listen to this Saminterview?

Speaker 2 (37:54):
I have not dude, but I, I, I followed the chirping at
the beginning and I did followyour appreciate.
I, I seen, I've seen clips ofthe show.
I've not seen the whole thing,so I do need to watch that I'm
going to watch it on theairplane tomorrow.
There you go.
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
I can't believe you got.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
Sam Hahn on.
I think that guy is just thecoolest.
And did you not know him before?

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Never had a conversation with him whatsoever
Unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
And you posted that video.
Did he reach out to you?

Speaker 1 (38:26):
Well, the video went out and it blew up and went
crazy and they had commented.
He had commented but neverreached out.
And then when I did the thegiveaway where I I made the
shirt that said 1440 can'tafford a lab putter and that was
part of the giveaway.
Because, that's what 90% of thecomments were.

(38:50):
Oh, you just can't afford one.
That's why you hate it.
That's not what the post isabout, dumbass.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
But so I was just making fun of it.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
And so he kind of sent me a message saying you
know, he was like kind of justtalking shit hard and you know I
fired back and then he was likeyou know what I'm sorry, that
wasn't right Blah, blah, blah.
And I, I said, I said, hey, hegoes, let's just get on a call,
let's, let's talk.
And so we hopped on a call andchatted and uh, it is, it's

(39:22):
amazing because you know, I, I,I don't have anything against
him, I don't have anythingagainst lab golf, I don't have
anything against the putters, Idon't like the revealer.
That's what I've let it beknown.
And we had a really in-depth,great conversation and had so
much more in common than eitherone of us thought and uh, it was
, it was a, a great thing thatcame out of potentially some bad

(39:47):
stuff.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Did it change your perspective of Lab or Sam in
general?

Speaker 4 (39:56):
It did for me for sure.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
I firmly believe he believes what he is doing is
helping golfers, and I'm all forthat is doing is helping
golfers and I'm all for that.
I, I am somebody that does notthink that a torqueless putter
is the end all be all to savegolf.
Uh, it's just another option.
I, I do not think the revealeris a device that should be used

(40:20):
the way they're using it.
Um, it putting is.
It's so personal and you got tofind something that works for
you.
I respect him, I respect hisdrive, I respect his passion and
I want nothing but success forhim.
Um, but I mean, I'm never gonnaputt with one jj spawn
disagrees with you.

Speaker 4 (40:39):
Yeah, he does and and the other 160 guys on tour.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
Disagree with him I will say the thing about what I
thought what would happen out ofthat for me personally was like
it almost felt like a marketingscheme uh, curtailed for covet
golfers, right, making thembelieve that there's an answer
to everything.
Yeah, and there's not.
There will not be an answer toevery all your woes, never.

(41:08):
Oh, yeah, right, no no, we'regolfers.
We'll figure out a way to fuckit up, one way or another
exactly, exactly, absolutely butthe way with the, the revealer
is going to market it to whereit's going to fix all your shit,
and that's not possible.
But he came on here and heexplained all that and he
completely changed my mind aboutit and I thought about it.
But you know, I, I like lookingdown at a blade and it is what

(41:33):
it is.
I, I care more about looks, I'mvain as fuck, right so, but
it's fine, I'll deal with missputts.
I'll miss a putt, I don't care,right, I'm out there for the
love of the game.
So, uh, but if it works for youand we, we, we do this all the
time.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
If it works for you, fucking play that shit rocket
every time for sure yeah, I, Idon't know there was a lot of,
and now I I made a second video.
Because of all the chaos thatwent on with that first one, I
made a second one with Odyssey'sputter.
That looked just like the labdesign, right yeah, and I made a

(42:13):
putt with it.
I'm like, oh, let's see who'sgoing to.
I'm going to piss off with this.
And now it's gaining traction amonth and a half after.
So it's so weird, but thatthing's almost got a million
views now.
No kidding.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
Yeah, it's so weird, but that thing's almost got a
million views.
Now it's like okay, yeah, it's,it's crazy what goes nuts that
is crazy, that's so funny.

Speaker 4 (42:38):
That's like well, I'm heavily invested in lab.
You're like sick though mattit's.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
Yeah, that's cool and it's also.
It was a financial.
I'm also in financial ruin frombuying that putter, but um but
I do putt good with it I do I doputt good with it.
Uh, I have three of the modelsand, uh, I tell you I was.
I was struggling on the greens.
I was a tailor-made spider guythrough and through man.
That's my mom.
It comes through my blood and Iwas just struggling and I I'd
heard eric talk about theputters and I I didn't really
believe the science.

(43:01):
I thought I thought they lookedugly and I went and picked one
up and put it and startedhooping everything and um, oh,
no doubt they feel stable ashell, like you feel, like for me
I I don't like having that muchonset.

Speaker 1 (43:15):
I don't like the putter head that much in front
of the shaft.
So if if it's a lab putter witha backstrike from odyssey years
ago and see more, any of thosewhere there's that much onset,
it just doesn't appeal to me.
Have you tried?

Speaker 2 (43:27):
one with the and I haven't.
But have you tried the ZeroShafling versions that they came
out with?

Speaker 1 (43:32):
No.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
Okay, so you know they have the Zero Shafling now.
I haven't tried one yet, but Iknow it's kind of for a guy like
what you said, Like I don'ttalk on it because I haven't
tried one, but kind of for thatlook that you're talking about.
That just came out like acouple weeks ago, right.
No, they had it as custom whenthey released Oz.

(43:58):
So when the Oz release happenedwas the first time they offered
like 0% shaffling.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
So what did you think about the, the plumber's neck
version?
I haven't seen it that, theyjust were that's the one I was
thinking, I think yeah, the rbc, there was a couple that the
players were testing, yeahplumber's neck yes, that's not
lie.

Speaker 4 (44:17):
Angle balanced well this has to be same shape,
everything, just plumber's neckand no shaft lean.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
I'm going to look it up right now.
Yeah, check.
I think is it SMS?
On tour was posting picturesand I think Johnny Wonder was
posting some pictures.
Which one are you talking about?
It's an Oz that has a plumber'sneck.
Interesting, interesting.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
Interesting.
Yeah, hey, shout out Goodwood, shout out Goodwood putters.
Go check out that episodeSeriously Like four or five
episodes.
Do you know, goodwood, matt?
I don't.
Oh, okay, you got to have tolisten to that episode too, bro.

Speaker 4 (45:01):
You better get you a Goodwood Matt.

Speaker 1 (45:13):
I'll tell you one.
So I I have been in a putterconundrum for a couple years.
Uh, I, I switch putters all thetime trying to find the perfect
putter.
Uh I, I went to the jailbirdthe plumber's neck jailbird
really liked it, but then Istarted getting super lazy with
my stroke on short putts.
So I went back to a blade and Ihave a scotty newport 1.5 flow
neck that I love and was rollingit.
Well, and then they came outwith a slant neck jailbird and

(45:36):
I'm like, oh man, I rolled it acouple times.
I'm like, god damn it, this isgood.
So I got that one and that'sthat's the one that's in the
video.
Um, and then, uh, I found, uh,I got a smoking deal on an
odyssey proto, one that is allblack and it was flawless.
Got it for a smoking deal, so Istarted playing that and I

(45:58):
really liked it and uh, but thenI was back and forth between
that and that, and then weconnected with Goodwood and
Dan's been a huge fan of hisstuff and so he did a custom
putter for each of us, and eversince I've put that in the bag
and it's not just the putter,I've also worked with my coach

(46:21):
and really working on getting Igot the lie angle correct and
the swing weight right.
My God, is it a good putter, though that's not a good one.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
Now I have a lot of content to watch on the airplane
tomorrow.
I like it.
I'm not going to be watchingAdventures in Golf, I'm going to
be watching the Chase and.

Speaker 3 (46:40):
Daylight archives yes , we got a lot.
We got a lot.
It's hard.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
I'm been Houston so you know you guys are coming on
10 30 on a Tuesday, you know, Imean I'm usually well for me.
The reason I've been catchingso many shows lately is I'm on
the way back from my my beachvolleyball league, but uh, I'm
listening to you guys in the carand uh, uh, but I got to get in
the archives.

Speaker 3 (47:01):
Yeah, you don't have to watch live.
We are live on every singleplatform there is and you can
learn and watch it yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
Learning how to use YouTube.
I'm 41, 41 years old.
I'm learning, learning thepower of.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
YouTube we're on Apple Spotify.
Every show is on.
Okay, nice, there's alsothere's also a website out there
1440golfcom oh, here, let me,let me show that I knew I was
gonna segue into something yeah, yeah, yeah, I, I, uh, I'll add
this to the thing.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
So uh this is what I've been doing the past two
days.
I've been updating, so this ismy site.
This, this is formerly thebreakfast ball.
This is where the breakfastball was for since 2009.
Uh, recently changed it um to1440 Golf, but you can see down
here.
You've got the different things.
If you click on the podcast now, it brings it to this page,

(47:51):
tells us a little bit about us.
There's links to all of ourbios on here and then all of the
episodes.
I'm slowly uploading them.
Nice, but in the top, if you dothe dropdown, you can go to
interviews and it will pop upand these are all the interviews
.
Only that we've done.

(48:11):
I've got about half of thosedone.
And then I'm working on theguest page where you can see the
guests that we have had on forsome of the interviews Bangers,
yeah, good stuff, good stuff.
Oh look at that, bob.

Speaker 4 (48:24):
West.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
What a bang shut up the cop crop, farmer crop he
used to have vegas golf realtorbut I changed it to amateur
golfer and crop farmer now.

Speaker 4 (48:34):
So to matt bob.

Speaker 1 (48:38):
Bob grows gas, bro, really yeah, bob grows gas yeah,
that's okay, I should be on ashirt, yeah, so yes, eventually
that'll all be updated witheverything, uh, so you can uh go
on there and see all theepisodes, because the website

(48:58):
that I had for it I just wasn'thappy with it.
I wanted to have you know, alittle bit more control on
what's happening.
So it will, it will get better.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
I just found my favorite part of the page.
I found the biggest golfrankings.

Speaker 1 (49:12):
Oh now I have my rankings.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
There's caveats.
All right, there's caveats.

Speaker 2 (49:22):
Controversy.
Well, it's gonna some of thecontroversy will go away now
that joe and jeremy have playedshadow creek.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
So yeah that's true that's true.

Speaker 3 (49:34):
Yeah, that's true.
Number one, jeremy, jeremy, without you, jeremy, that was
your first time to joe what'dyou think buddy?
Oh yeah, that place is perfectfor sure.
So good, I walked away saying Ican see.
I can see how this is worth1200.
I didn't say it's worth it, butI could.
I said I can see how it's worth1200 yeah and we got to.

(49:56):
We got to play 26 holes.
Okay, we played the back ninetwice under the lights, barefoot
on the second nine.
Oh cool, sick as sick.
Oh cool.
Experiences on experiencesloved it.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
Yeah, that was incredible I told I was telling
the story last night and ourstream.
Like when joe came on thestream last night I don't know,
dano, if you were in there, butI was like man, we lived in
vegas, we were counting up atbears and then I was in plague
shadow and I was like that placeis overrated.
It's like that was like 500bucks like this, don't waste
that for good.
And then you go play.
You're like shit, I was wrong.

Speaker 4 (50:31):
Wow, this is so good okay so also I need that I need.

Speaker 3 (50:41):
I, I don't.
I, I didn't get that.
Uh, I didn't get that slip.
I didn't get it in my email.
Oh really, yeah, I didn't getit, but we'll move on, but I'm
just letting you know, gotcha.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
All right.
So I want to get into this, because Dan said, you said Pine
Valley is not as great aseveryone says it is, and I want
to know why Okay, that's a place.
I want to know why Okay, that'sa place I'll probably never
play, probably never see.

Speaker 4 (51:09):
I'll never play, that I know.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
I gotta be careful because I don't want to get
banned from.

Speaker 2 (51:13):
Pine Valley by the secret police on the internet,
but I'll give you my take.
So I've been very blessed andI've played a lot of the top 100
.
I'm 41 years old.
I've been very blessed and I'veplayed a lot of the top 100.
I'm 41 years old.
I've been very, very, very, very blessed and so I feel like
I'm allowed to have a little bitof my own perspective on that.
Absolutely, and I think to me,the thing about Pine Valley and

(51:40):
Pine Valley is great and it's areally cool experience.
It's a fantastic logo, you know, great lodging on property,
lots of different kinds oflodging.
Like we stayed in the Annexwhen we were there, which is
right on number four or five.
It's kind of like a dormitorystyle room, group showers, which
is kind of weird for a placelike glittery.
You shower like you're in a gymlocker room.

Speaker 3 (52:01):
Well, how were the showers?

Speaker 2 (52:09):
I mean they like shower like you're in a gym
locker room.
Well, how are the showers I?

Speaker 3 (52:11):
mean there's yeah, they were weird when you're with
members, when you're 12 andyou're all I do some guys over
in the corner.
So there's ig pages dedicatedto golf showers.
Would you quit stopping yourass?
They have group.
What yeah well?

Speaker 2 (52:17):
the annex has got like a it's like a like.
It's like uh, you have your ownroom, but then yeah, there's
like.
It's like you have your ownroom, but then yeah, it's like a
locker room.
That's not every lodging atPine Valley.
That's just.
There is one form of lodginglike that there.

Speaker 1 (52:33):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
Super cool par three course.
You know the par three course.
A lot of people don't know thatPine Valley is like they
replicate the sex of a bunch ofyour second shots.
Oh, that's cool.
So, yeah, so like a couple ofthe par, par, par threes on the
par three course don't have a,have a tee box Like.
It's like like a, it's like afairway with the green.
So it's like this is the secondshot on six or sorry, on five
or whatever.

(52:54):
So it's it's like this big andit says absolutely no mulligans
and they are dead serious abouttheir no mulligan rule.
Like whatever, wherever you hitit off of one, like good go,

(53:14):
you hit it.
Like you're getting the nexthit it go, yeah for sure.
So pine valley is a good golfcourse.
Pine valley is one of thehardest golf courses in the
country.
I don't think pine valley isthe number one golf courses in
the country.
I don't think pine valley isthe number one golf course in
the country.
I don't think it's the numberone golf course.
Uh, I don't.
I think there's a um.
I think if you look at the top100, the current golf digest top

(53:35):
100, you can really actuallyjust I think you can justify
saying those are the top 100hardest golf courses in the
country.
I'm not sure that they're thebest golf courses in the country
and I think you know everybodyhas a different way of how you
see that, yeah, yeah yeah, youknow, um, some of us like it for
experience and amenities andand uh vibe, right, uh,
conditions.

(53:56):
Um, you know, if you go play keoisland and you know you know
keo island's a top 100 golfcourse super hard not to me, not
a top 100 golf course.
Like you play it once you'relike okay, cool, that was fun.
Whatever who you know that was, that was.
I had a great time shooting 80at keo island.
Like I don't like you know, like um, you know I played it
from 7600 yards.

(54:16):
Uh, that wasn't that much funand every hole looks the same.
They're just hard like strivefor and all day.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
That doesn't make it great, right what makes it right
, yeah, so yeah, I could name, Icould name, you know.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Think about, think about all the discovery golf
courses, right, discovery landcompany, of course, yeah, and
think about how few of them arein the top 100 one, because they
don't allow a lot of them, don't allow raiders, right, they
don't.
They don't care about rating, right, but those golf courses
you know, we were talking aboutfazio last night, one of my
favorite, you know, he's a greatdesigner, he's got, he's got
art everywhere, right, and theseare the some of the best

(54:49):
conditions, best amenities, bestservice.
You know what goes into the top100.
And if you, when we didbluejack, we started having
raiders, when we, when we openedbluejack, right, uh, the rating
wasn't as high as what we hadanticipated it to be.
And then when you get, get thecoding scale and you can look it
up on, it's a reallyinteresting thing If you do.
You go look up what, how, howthe ratings are are are weighted

(55:12):
.
Resistance to scoring is adouble weighted category and the
golf digest rating is a doubleweighted category, so that
resistance to scoring, based onresistance scoring, that counts
twice towards your, your score.
Wow, so if you can't, tell methat that doesn't lean linge you
towards difficult right.
Yeah, yeah, um, you know I?

(55:33):
I don't know if I was gonna saywhat's the best hundred offers
in the world.
I don't know if I would doubleweight resistance to scoring
right.
Um, because, just because thegolf course is hard, it's great,
like, no, like we't.
We didn't Tiger woods when hewas doing blue Jack Nash.
It wasn't designing a golfcourse to make it hard, right,
he wanted to make it great, Ican make it, you know, and what
we should have done.

(55:54):
And we we talked about it at onepoint.
Like every Raider that comehere they have to about
resistance scoring good luck.
Go back to 75 50 and tell methat it was really easy, like
and I don't care that there's norough and it's fairway
everywhere, like from 7500 yards, when you start hitting four
irons into those greens insteadof wedges from the number piece

(56:14):
like yeah it's a whole differentgolf course, buddy like.
So I could make it really hardif you want to, but that's not
what the golf course wasdesigned to do.
The golf course designed for, like a junior, a 25 handicapper
of a 10 handicapper and one handever to go play golf and not
lose a golf ball and have agreat, enjoyable day with great
service, great, awesome and onperfect zoysia all day long.

(56:35):
Not hit a ball out of the roughand not lose a.
How fun is it to go play a golfcourse and lose a dozen golf
balls?
Who likes that?
Well, how's that grow golf?
What makes that?
I mean, it seems like backwardsthinking to me.

Speaker 4 (56:47):
Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox.

Speaker 2 (56:49):
I'll get off my soapbox.

Speaker 3 (56:51):
I don't care if I lose 12 or 24 or 36.
As long as I enjoy my time outthere, then fucking that place
was dope.

Speaker 1 (57:00):
You don't have 36 in your bag, so you would be really
upset.

Speaker 3 (57:05):
I'd have to bum a lot .
But you know it's fine, allright If I have to join myself.

Speaker 1 (57:10):
We'll do this real quick.
Matt, your top five If you hadto play five courses, your top
five, oh God, Of all the coursesthat you've played.
And you don't have to go intodetails, just run them off.

Speaker 3 (57:22):
I have one question after this Monterey Peninsula
Country Club Oakmont.

Speaker 2 (57:31):
Maidstone.

Speaker 3 (57:36):
Maidstone Nice.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
Let's go.
I don't know how you can't nothave Pebble in there and I'm
going to say, let's go, wingfoot.

Speaker 4 (57:50):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
Okay, tillinghast the best pro shops.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
Grove 23 okay, of course oh, come on, okay, um
Wingfoot trying to think ofwhere I've done serious damage.
Wingfoot Trying to think ofwhere I've done serious damage.

(58:22):
Yeah, mpcc, pro Shops or Logos.
Are we doing Pro Shops or LogosPro?

Speaker 1 (58:30):
Shops.
You go into Pro Shop, you'relike oh, I'm Curation.

Speaker 3 (58:34):
I'm matching up the card.
Curation of the pro shop.

Speaker 2 (58:35):
Okay, yeah, yeah so grow 23 is a number one, for
sure.
Wing foot, you cannot stopyourself the logos too.
I yeah, and it's great the vibe.
Oh, come on, you want to buyeverything.
Uh, can I stop there?
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (58:47):
all right, the last one.
I got the best conditionsyou've played, not the the best
course, not the hardest course, the best like you cannot believe
how amazing this place was.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
That's okay, super easy there.
I think that's Oakmont.
God, what was I doing?
What's out of my mind?
Mpcc, it depends on what timeyou go of the year ago sage um
sorry, hold on.
Oh, philly cricket club handsdown fairways at philly great

(59:23):
club are just so sick.
Um, blue jack national back inthe day.
I think you'd have to put thatone up there.
Um, got it, you got to have, like I mean I could, the Quarry
in La Quinta.

Speaker 4 (59:39):
Palm Springs yeah.

Speaker 2 (59:41):
Not a blade of grass bent sideways out there, and
then we'll go.
Number five, let's go.
I've got to throw someDiscovery Love because they're
just all too good, so I'm goingto go.
Silo Ridge in Permania, newYork.

Speaker 1 (59:56):
Have you played Madison Club?
No, sir, have you played Ladera?

Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
No, Joe.

Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
Can you guys tell me, have you guys?

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
played Ladera.

Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
No, I looked up the website after you said it to me.

Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
Is it open?
It is open, it's open, but it'spretty open.

Speaker 4 (01:00:14):
It's open, but it's pretty exclusive, I think okay
cool.

Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
Yeah, it's pretty deep.
I'll be there tomorrow.
We did have a question from thechat uh, where's the best post
round burger?

Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
that's super easy.
Olympic it doesn't.
I mean post round, pre-round,during round a burger dog.
There's nothing more magicalthan a burger dog and golf yeah,
I last time I was at olympicand this is gonna make me sound
really fat but I think I had sixthroughout the day now.
It was a long day and then I hada heart attack uh, but we had
the we did the par three coursegot there, got there, had a

(01:00:51):
burger dog, went and did thecliffs.
Nine came off the close, ninehad a burger dog.
I think I had a burger dog atthe turn and then on 15 again
maybe like yeah, at 9, 15, andthen yeah, and then we had one
at the end around because youjust had to like, so good oh,
that's amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
My my question was if you're gonna spend four days on
a golf resort, where would youspend it?
And like one one spot spot.
Easy answer One spot SandValley.

Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
Sand Valley.

Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
Yep Fuck, I hope you said abandoned.
No well, I like abandoned.

Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
I haven't been to.
I gotta get to Sand Valley,Fuck yeah so I haven't been to
abandoned.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
The last time I was abandoned was when there was
only four of them right, so theoriginal four and I know you
guys went up.
I'm super jealous of your trip.
The Sheep's Ranch lookedamazing.
You guys did PrincessesInteresting.

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
Dan, I got an 8.

Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
You got a whole lot on Sheep's yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:01:43):
I remember that.

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
Okay, wait, hold on.
Can I do something fun Of theoriginal four abandoned golf
courses, the OG4, what's yourfavorite Number one?
You can only play one Trails, abandoned golf courses, the og4,
what's your just?
What's your favorite number oneafter you can only play one?

Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
trails.
Oh fuck, I could, if I couldonly play one.
Yeah, don't, yeah, like I showup at the course, I can only, oh
man, yep it's between trailsand pacific dunes, for sure for
me it's between trails and mac,but I gotta go trails okay, yeah
, I'd go pack dunes okay I lovethem all so much, I love them

(01:02:20):
all so much, but I think I think, damn, trails.

Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
Trails tells a story, right, and I'm a big
storyteller, I love the story oftrails I think, pack dunes is a
better golf course and old macis a lesson in history.
So that's the hard thing, buttrails.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
If I had to walk one golf course, it'd probably be
the story of abandoned trailsyou know that like your guys's
answers are awesome because I'ma trails guy and I think you
know you talk to the averagegolfer who goes to banning dunes
and they're like oh man, youknow trails is rich trails are
so hard right, so it wasn't thatgreat.
You know, trails was like thebest golf course there, right

(01:03:06):
like 100.

Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
It's the best offers, but it's also a story.

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
It's a story and then who said old mac, oh, you did.
Yeah, there's you back.
You and I are the same like I'ma trails old mac guy, right,
because old mac is that'sscottish golf like.
If you like I've, I'll be inscotland in august.
I've been to scotland andplayed a bunch of golf.
The closest thing to scottishgolf to me is is old mac like

(01:03:31):
open and you can how you playthe ball on the ground and all
this stuff.
And and dunes and Packer arebeautiful and there's some great
holes.
There's some iconic holes onboth those golf courses.
To me, the best two golfcourses are old Mac and and and
band of trails.
I couldn't agree with you guysmore.
So I know you guys are all madeof dunes fans.
I've been.
I've been dying to ask you.

Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
I hated Old Mac.
The first time I played it,absolutely hated it.
And then, the second time Iplayed it it was with our buddy
Scotty.
He was a looper up there for awhile and he told me he goes,
why don't you like it?
And I said I just like it.
He goes, I'm going to make youlove it and so the next time we

(01:04:10):
played it, he goes I'm going tohand you a club.
I don't want you looking at it,I'm just gonna hand you a club
and I'm gonna have you hit theseshots.
And I shot I think it's 75 thatday and I hit some of the most
fun creative shots that I had noidea I knew how to hit and he's
like.
That is why old mac is special.

Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
100, yeah, 100 but yeah, let yeah go back to your
resort.
Or like question, like you guyswould go, you sand valley would
be, so your jam uh I want toplay the lido, so badly.
Oh my god, it's so good, uh, butjust the lodging, the, the
pricing is fair, the weather isperfect, the walk is incredible.

(01:04:54):
The whole variety isunbelievable.
What dream golf is doing upthere in san valentino.
You just don't ever want toleave.
It is so you guys would havethe best golf trip of your life
at san valentino and like andI'm a stream song guy.
I like bandon.
Uh, I'm really excited.
I haven't played cabinet citrus, but I think right now, if I
had to plan a golf trip for forpeople, I'm sitting in sand

(01:05:14):
valley all right, you said cabot, have you played cliffs?
No, no on the list.

Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
Yeah, want to do it right yeah, so I I have so many
questions for you, but we'll, wewill, we will sustain.
Okay, there was there was uhbecause we're we're at 105, we
got, we still have to get in.
Okay, we're gonna go all night.
No, there's not a time limit, but matt usually is the one.
He's dad.

(01:05:40):
Right, matt is the dad and he'slike hey guys, all right, let's
just chill out.

Speaker 1 (01:05:45):
Here we're talking normally it's like, okay, this
is dragging on and I gotta go tobed, but this is good stuff I
did.

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
So let me get to this one, because uh temper, who is
a huge whatnot?
Supporter of mine and yours, matt, um, he asked best budget
friendly.
Uh golf trip you can do withyour buddies, best area to go
easy go to the up, go to the upforest dunes.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Uh, I think, uh, you know you could do forest dunes
and I don't know, I don't knowwhat a, what a round is running
up.
Uh, so that's upper peninsula, michigan, um, but during the
summer, so thumper, thumper isminnesota.

Speaker 3 (01:06:25):
Thumper works on a, on a golf course, I believe.
I can't remember the namethumper, but on in minnesota.
Uh, he works at the, the resort, I believe.
Do I remember that correctly?
I'm not sure, but yeah.
So I'm going to say I'm goingto say I'm going to well.

Speaker 2 (01:06:39):
I got two things I'm going to say.
I'm going to say the UP in thesummer.
I mean, it's probably theirhighest rate is obviously in the
summertime, so but I think itUPN.

(01:07:01):
Then you got Arcadia Bluffs andyou got a couple and then just
a bunch of sleepers up there.
Um, uh, but uh.

Speaker 3 (01:07:05):
I would say, the other thing is like go do.

Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
We did the um and super close to you guys, but we
did St George last year.
We did it in the middle ofsummer, we did in july.
We rented a house at copperrock.
We rented a house that probablyrents for five thousand dollars
a night during the season, that's, the one on the, the 10th
green on.
No, uh, 11 fairway or whateverit is.

Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
Yeah, yeah uh, the round cul-de-sac with all the
houses and the yeah sick rightfor like basically four master
bedrooms, a pool.

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
And then we did.
We just did everything.
We did Black Desert, we didCopper Rock, we did Wolf Creek,
we did Sand Hollow.
Dan helped us with a couple.
We got to get on the privatecourse.
There I had a member who was abuddy, who's a member at what's
the one in?

Speaker 4 (01:07:48):
St.

Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
Louis, entrata, entrata.

Speaker 4 (01:07:51):
And then our caddy told us one day go up and play
the ledges he goes, I live hereyou know, it's actually just
sick, so it's super cool likelike really coming down the
stretch there, uh and like inthe summertime, so cheap and you
can rent a house for nothingand like, yeah, it's 100 degrees
.

Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
I don't know where you live, but like, if you don't
mind, just like dry 100, it'sawesome, like I will I'll say
thumper all.

Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
St george is a great idea, thumper.
But I will say is uh, go topinehurst and don't play
pinehurst, play the smaller onesaround pinehurst.
You know what I mean.
In the off season, go in winter, take the gamble.
Or go to south car Myrtle Beach, take the gamble.
We did it.
Take the gamble, play Tothillor Tobacco Road in the offseason

(01:08:40):
.
Just because the grass isn'tgreen doesn't make it a bad golf
course, guys.
All right, you know what I mean.
If the grass ain't green, it'sfine.
It's just plain different.
And then go back.

Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
No one would play in Texas if that was the case.
No more greener grasses.

Speaker 3 (01:08:59):
Dude, caledonia and True Blue.
One of the best double bangersyou can do and they're right
next to each other.

Speaker 4 (01:09:11):
South Myrtle Beach, Matty Mike Strance.

Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Mike Strance is one of the funnest golf architects
you will play in your entirelife.
I will live and die by thatwho's your favorite architects,
matt?

Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
who's your favorite architect?
Not a big one uh, tom does thatokay funnest nope uh the one I
I strength strength.

Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
Mike strength, mike strength, mike strength, mike
strength okay, don't hold me tothat, though, mike strength hmm,
I mean trails.

Speaker 5 (01:09:52):
My favorite course I've ever played, so probably
Cork Crenshaw, but I'm a big fanof Shadow, so Tom's also up
there.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
Haji.

Speaker 4 (01:10:03):
Alistair McKenzie.

Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
Ah yeah, shut up the legend.

Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
What about you, Matt?

Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
Seth Rayner for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:10:12):
Never played a true Rayner.
I can't believe I didn't putany Rayners on my top five.

Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
Seth Rayner for sure.
Any Rayner Never played a trueRayner.
I can't believe I didn't putany Rayners on my top five.
I could put five Rayners upthere that are just incredible.

Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
I still have a lot to check off.
I've never played a true.

Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
Rayner, have you guys not played a bunch of template
holes?

Speaker 4 (01:10:35):
When you go to the Sand Valley, charlleston muni,
charleston muni.
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
Yeah, hey, I drove right by it when we went to the
country club of charleston andthe temple of charleston is like
just just, template aftertemplate after template, but
like, um, you know that style ofgolf with the cross bunkers and
plateau and redan and barrettesand the reverse redans and uh,
punch bowls, and it's just likeevery hole's a new adventure and

(01:11:03):
you just have no idea what'saround the next bend.
That, to me, is such a fun.

Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
It was awesome, awesome we don't get that out
here.
You know what the vegas golf islike, that's for sure.
We don't get that out here.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
That's what we should do, we should do, what we
should build a vegas template, golf course.
Can you imagine, yeah, thecrush it would be?
We need the flattest piece ofland too.
We don't even need and youdon't need anything.
You build it in between.
You could build it into.
Uh, uh, think about it.
You can build the salt flatsout there.

Speaker 3 (01:11:29):
Yeah, we don't, you just push up dirt and do
template stuff super easy.
You just dig out the bunkerholes and place them on berms
around the green.
Easy, 100%, dude.
That's a billion-dollar idea.

Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
100% You're going to need it to build it out here.

Speaker 1 (01:11:46):
AstroTurf.

Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
No one will let you A little bit of a water issue An
AstroTurf golf course.
Part three, short mini partthree in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
More close to closing per capital than anywhere else
in the country Lit up to Lovethat idea In a dome TGL things.

Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
TGL things.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
You know you're going to have the next TGL site for
sure.
This is awesome, rob said.

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
Moral of the podcast tonight so many great courses,
so many great architects.
Let's go play some golf, yeahall right absolutely, absolutely
all right.
So let's get into this newadventure of whatnot.
What brought you to what not?
First off, instagram.

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
I guess probably, I don't know.
I just saw it on instagram so Idon't know.
Like an ad, for I bought this.
I bought this laptop for ninedollars and I got this pair of
bravis scotts for 52 bucks.
Good luck finding that deal.

Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
I haven't seen.

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
I haven't seen that deal I haven't seen that deal
around anywhere, by the way.
Um, yeah, I was just sitting onmy couch and I don't know lazy
saturday, sunday afternoon anddownloaded the app and was
messing around and I don't know.
And then then I I was in thereoriginally looking for shoes
because I'm a sneaker head uh,my jordan, jordan golf guy and

(01:13:12):
um, and then I wandered into anelectronic show and I'm like, oh
okay, those guys selling coolstuff.
And then I'm not really a golfconsumer, so so much because I
was in the golf business for solong.
And then I clicked on the golfpage and I saw some crazy stuff.
I mean, I saw, you know guysselling used golf clubs and yeah
, you know, like you know, uh,just you know apparel and all

(01:13:34):
you know.
And then I get to a flipthrough a page.
I saw a guy selling golf balls, like by the sleeve, and I'm
like what is it?
This guy just sold a golf ball.
It's a sleeve of golf balls forlike 20, 25 bucks.
I'm like what?

Speaker 1 (01:13:42):
the heck is going on.

Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
And then, so I'm thinking about it, I'm sitting
there and my wife's there andI'm like you know what, like I
can do this, I can sell.

Speaker 1 (01:13:53):
So I clicked the button said become a seller.

Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
So I went through the little 10 minute, little 10
minute thing and it's like, okay, do this, do this right, watch
this video.
And then it's like, okay, youwent through seller training,
now it's got your first show andI'm like, okay, I'm gonna do a
show tonight at 6 30.
And I'm like, okay, great, takea picture, make a background.
And I'm like, okay, I can dothat, walk in my little office
over my golf room and I put mystaff bags together in front of

(01:14:15):
my flag and I took a picture ofit and that's my thumbnail.
And then I told her.
I said, well, I guess we've gotto add some stuff to the shop.
So I started taking pictures ofall my stuff and I was like the
clock is ticking down right,it's taking me a little longer
and I'm like tripod and I put myphone up in there and like, uh,
I didn't really know anything.
I didn't really like you knowkind of trains you but doesn't

(01:14:36):
really train you and so it's afunny thing is like my wife
tracy, like I was like, okay, get a computer, we're gonna,
let's set you up a little deskin the corner and like you got
to track all the sales.
Like we had no idea that likewhatnot was tracking sales, like
video receipts, all that stuff.
So like, okay, here's a notepad.
Like you gotta track the sales.
Like we don't really know howthis goes.
So then we press live and we golive and there's like 24 people

(01:15:00):
in my chat, uh, 24 people in mystream, and I'm like, oh, that's
, this is awesome.
I'm like, hey, guys, no, don't,don't roast me too bad.
I was like, but I got like somecool stuff and people like,
okay, hold on.
Like then they start fillingstuff in the chat like run that,
run, that I think I see it inmy background.
I'm like you guys want, youguys want this.
I was like, uh, and I had somefun, and so next thing, you know
, so we, we uh, um that night.

(01:15:24):
So six hours later, yeah, um wewere in for six hours and, uh,
we, I end the stream and I lookover my wife and it's like that,
like I think we sold like acouple of big pile of shit on
the floor, like all of the allof the stuff we sold like are on
the floor.
And I look at her and I waslike I think we made like like
we might've made a thousanddollars.
And then, like I get a textmessage from Dano and he goes

(01:15:47):
that was fucking insane, bro.
And I get an email from.
I get an email from whatnotLike immediately after.
It was like congratulations onyour first show you did $6,500
in sales.
I looked over and I said wejust sold $6,000 worth of shit.
Like what is going on?

Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
So, matt, matt, let me tell you a story that I don't
know if I've told you or ifDan's told you, but I was doing
a show that night and I was likewhenever, whenever I end the
show, right, I'm like hey, guys, give me uh options who we
should rate, and then we'll ratethat person.
Okay, and I think I think itmight have been levi, it might
have been for right 91, guys gofollow for right 91.
Uh, I think for right said goraid like mm car or what your

(01:16:32):
name, because it was matt bar87265, whatever I knew.

Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
So yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
So I was like, okay, we'll rate this guy because they
were like he's new, so we'llhit him up.
And then I raid you and I'mwatching your show and I text
dan.
I'm like, bro, is this yourhomie matt?
And I took a screenshot of yourshow and he's like that's him.
I was like holy shit, what thefuck is going on here?

Speaker 1 (01:16:59):
yeah, we had no idea it was you, because I was on, I
was watching no idea that nightreally, yeah, and we went over
and we were watching you, youknow, yeah, we were blown away
by the analytics, right, we werelike we got the analytics
report.

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
We're like man, there was like there was 2500, you
know 2,500 views of the show.
I think 2,500 people wentthrough our stream at some point
, I think I don't know if,whatever that means, or in and
out of the stream, I don't knowhow exactly it works like, but
we had like a I think we had anaverage sustained view of like
81 people was like our averageand like a high count of like
121.
I had zero followers, right.

(01:17:32):
I just like literallydownloaded it.
So it was a weird blown away.
And I think I told everybody inthat first show like hey, I'm a
logo guy, right, I've beenfortunate enough to go around
the world, I collect, I mean, Ijust I like consuming, right,
consuming of the great logos, so, but you know, I have so much
of it like might as well shareit with everybody, right, and

(01:17:55):
I'm definitely a logo snob,right, I cherish a good logo.
I'm not going to buy somethingwith a with an ugly logo and I
know what's good and so.
So, yeah, it was really.
And it didn't really.
You know, it wasn't until afterthat show that I realized what
the opportunity is here, whatthe, the, the, the, what the

(01:18:16):
opportunity is here, what thisdigital e-commerce movement is
yeah, yeah.
We're at the forefront of it, soI'm trying to capture.
I've got a lot of opinions onwhat's going to happen and Dan
and I just talked for about anhour and a half about it.

Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
Dude, how much do you think eBay is shitting in their
pants right now?

Speaker 2 (01:18:34):
I think I don't think they're shitting in their pants
honestly.
To be honest, my opinion ofthis whole matter is I think
that we are or are they going tocrush?

Speaker 1 (01:18:43):
well, correct.

Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
I think my opinion and I told Dan this just a
little bit ago I said everysingle major brand and platform
will have this platform orsomething similar within the
next six to 24 months.
This is the way that people are.
This will there Amazon?
You will there.
There will be a link, whetherit's on Amazon or if it'll be
Amazon live or whatever it is,but you will buy on Amazon via a

(01:19:08):
live stream.
You will buy from Best Buy.
You, you will sit on your couchand you'll click.
You'll click on the Best Buyapp and you will buy from a
person in a store at Best Buy.
You will do this.
I have a hot take that I thinkthat the major golf
manufacturers may get into thisgame at some point.
I don't have any proof to gowith that, but you've seen the

(01:19:29):
trend and Gary Vee is a greatfollow.
If you're not following, ohyeah, okay, perfect, I think you
guys are.
Yeah, you guys are smart guys, but you know, you listen to kind
of what he talks about and likethis, overseas, in China and
Japan and Korea this is 60% oftheir e-commerce is done in a
type of fashion like this, right, wow?

(01:19:50):
So you know, I think Whatnot isvalued about a $7 billion
company.
They haven't IPO yet, but Ithink it's the valuation of what
they are and I think Whatnot isbeing used at about 5% of its
capability.
So I think talking aboutWhatnot and being involved in
Whatnot right now is likeselling somebody Bitcoin for a
dollar.

Speaker 3 (01:20:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
It's like buying Amazon for a buck.
So I'm not telling you to buythe stock because the stock's
not available, but I'm justsaying being involved in it and
getting familiar with thisplatform and this type of
selling is going to be somethingbig.
And yeah, I'm going all in onthis.
I'm not quitting my job yet,but we've got some big plans and
some big goals and some bigdreams, and I made a pretty

(01:20:32):
healthy announcement about that.
That is a great logo.
Where is that great lighthouse?
Where is that?

Speaker 4 (01:20:38):
isn't it?
Sinkity head matt.
Yeah, thank you, oh, thank you,oh I heard.

Speaker 2 (01:20:41):
That's fantastic, that's a bang logo right there.

Speaker 1 (01:20:43):
Oh my god, it's thank you, is that?
Yeah, it's nah, nantucket,nantucket.
Yeah, the mid-am was there acouple years ago and my buddy
made it and he let me.

Speaker 2 (01:20:53):
I caddied for him I might want to hang on to that
one.

Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
Well, I have a show you can tell on.
This isn't going anywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
I have a show you can tell on if you want to.

Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
No, no, it's coming to mind Matt Chill.
Okay, no, I think you are 100%correct.
My story is similar to yours.
I correct like.
And my story is similar toyours like I was grilling in the
backyard and I was watchingwhatnot.
I was watching whatnot for ayear before I even jumped on the
cell.
I got approved to sell for likesix months before I even jumped

(01:21:24):
on and I was like maybe one dayI'll do this.
And I was grilling in the backand there was a dude yelling at
me and you can take that how itis right.
But uh, I was like this guy'sselling shit.
And uh, I was like I can dothis, I have stuff in my garage
right now.
And I was like, fuck it, I'mscheduling a show.
And I did it and uh, it'sawesome.

(01:21:46):
Yeah, and uh, and the communityis incredible.
Like these guys are showing upin our podcast, like, uh, birdie
in a can thumper, like theseguys are supporting us, but we
also support them.
And I think I don't, man, Idon't even want to stretch that
far, we won't even go there.
But I think you should.

(01:22:07):
There's, there's golfers cominginto the platform that actually
, like, love golf, right like meand you, like we're golfers.
And there's there's people outthere that don't know golf the
way we do and that that's mywhole shtick, right like I want
to be on there and teach peoplethe way of golf.

(01:22:28):
Like I don't give a fuck howmuch money I sell on a show,
sure I could care less if Ibreak even, make five, lose ten,
make a thousand, whatever.
Like I want to because I lovethis game so much.
I want to because there's somany new people.
I was on the show the other dayand I was like throw w's in the

(01:22:50):
chat if you have been playingless than a year.
And it was all w's and I waslike holy shit, like it is my
interesting weapon to ask.
That's an interesting one I feellike it's like our
responsibility is like golferswelcoming people into the game
to teach them the ways, andthat's it's so much fun too.

(01:23:12):
Like dude, I just loveinteracting.
It's so much fun, it's chaos,but on.

Speaker 1 (01:23:16):
On the flip side of that is like when we saw your
stuff and I'm like nobody thatnobody knows, knows what you're
telling dude I was trying toshow this I threw up a shadow
creek like ball marker andnobody knew what it was.

Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
Yeah, you know, and that, and that's when it like
clicked.

Speaker 2 (01:23:33):
I was like there's so much out there to explore yeah,
and I think a little bit of,like my, my channel is a little
bit of storytelling, right too, because, like you know, exactly
right, you know.
So I'm not just like, I'm notselling stuff that I haven't
been to, I haven't experienced,I can't you know um.

Speaker 3 (01:23:49):
Look at that comment, so thumper what not brought me
to golf, that's awesome what'ssuper cool.
That's crazy, that is welcometo the game.
Welcome to the game, man.
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
I mean yeah and so like, yeah, I think and that's
the cool thing, one of the coolthings like everybody's got
their own deal right, everybody's kind of got their um
and it doesn't need to be thatway.
You can have multiple lanesright.
But right now yeah like the golfcommunity has like, uh, there's
the used club guys and there'sthe head cover guys and there's
the long guys, and I kind ofcame into it not knowing any of
the lanes, but I'm like this iswhat I got.

(01:24:20):
I think this is cool stuff, like this is like the guys that
I hang out with.
This is like badass stuff.
And I guess at the time when Igot in there I didn't really
care about what price I wasselling it for.
That's not a really goodbusiness model by the way.
Same either.
My thought process on that haschanged a little bit over the

(01:24:42):
last six weeks.
But yeah, there's businessopportunities here and there's
golf and there's connections andthere's.
You can use whatnot for a lotof different ways, for a lot of
different things.
You can use it for a lot ofdifferent ways for a lot of
different things.
You can use it for a lot ofinappropriate things too.
I mean, we're American, peopleare consumers, right, so we all
consume, and so you've got to bemindful of that as well, and

(01:25:06):
I'm guilty of that in the firstsix weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:25:12):
Boy, I can tell you I've been buying stuff that I I
suspended.

Speaker 4 (01:25:14):
Dan last week I suspended dan dan, I go yeah I
go, you're, you're suspended for24 hours.
I'm suspending myself.
I'm gonna delete the appprobably in the next week or two
, I woke up.

Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
I woke up to a text, dan text me, he goes, I mean dan
text me the, the first text Isee in the morning one week, uh
one day.
Last said I just bought a $130drone for $10.

Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
I've done that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:41):
Did you really buy a drone?
We need a drone.

Speaker 2 (01:25:44):
Still in the box.
I will gladly sell my $1,000drone that I bought for $199.

Speaker 4 (01:25:50):
I think it's just a little, did you?

Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
buy it from a little chinese lady in the back of a
container no well, no, actually, yeah it was.

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
It wasn't a little chinese lady there but, also the
thing that you get, you gethooked on is the community,
because people look out for eachother and they help you out and
they promote you and like eventhe guys in the in in the chat
on our show this evening, likethey've purchased from me and
I've chatted with them and I'vetalked with them and it's like

(01:26:22):
it's like it's golf, it's like a, it's like a microcosm of golf,
but it's the golf community andwhatnot, and I love everyone
out there.
Like it's so much fun.

Speaker 4 (01:26:33):
I just happened on ghq's channel today.
Oh, it's awesome yeah, theywere off the wedge.
They re-ran it like 20 timesand people were paying, like
like one guy paid 300 and saidrerun, it just gave him money do
you know how much they?

Speaker 2 (01:26:50):
I'm not sure.
Do you know?
I don't know I I popped in fora second, but I don't know how
much they raised today.

Speaker 3 (01:26:55):
But I have to tell you yeah, thumper is the one
that tagged us.

Speaker 4 (01:26:58):
Yeah, and he said yeah, I was going to say Thumper
had said they were over twogrand at one point.
That was the last time he saidI gave them three grand.

Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
No, they raised two grand on the yeah, yeah, yeah,
so, uh, yeah, um, yeah, clintonand the jh2 guys they seem like
great guys out of out of midlandtexas.
They're obviously doing somebig things on the app.
They're huge.
I think they have like four.
Uh, they've got.
I look today I think they havelike 30 000 followers on whatnot
.
Um, they're definitely they'removing some serious weight.
Um, they don't really rule.

(01:27:30):
You know, I think they lostactually lost, some friends in
the Texas floods the other day.
I have to laugh real quickbecause North of 6K somebody
said in the chat I just have tolaugh.
I just looked at the chat.
I haven't been able to see itthis whole time.
But Rob Chapman said Matt'sfavorite question any grips?
I'm not a grip guy but I havesome 007 grips.

Speaker 1 (01:27:53):
I won one of those in one of your give giveaways.
I have it in the garage oh,that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:27:57):
It's a cool grip, isn't it?
Oh, it is cool I mean, I wish Ihad nine more, but I it's, it's
on display you know, I, I, Igotta, I gotta source some more
of those ones.
But uh, yeah, I was gonna usethose for a personal thing, but
I got caught up in the show inthe moment and somebody asked me
for grips, so, uh, now I haveto.

Speaker 3 (01:28:15):
Yeah it's crazy man, it's storytelling, like I
purchased like yeah, I golf club.
Uh, I've never played it and Iam a hardcore believer like
never represent something thatyou've never played.

Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
But it's right.
I show you the kid, I show youthe coolest trophy I've ever won
in my life from.
Absolutely.
This is the member guests.
This is the.
I don't know if you can seethis.
This is the member guest trophy.
It's a it's a coal car.
Can you see it?
Oh, wow, yeah, that's cool oh,that's awesome.
It's super heavy coal car yeah,so that's their logo, is the
coal car logo, and I played inthe member guests like four

(01:28:51):
years in a row and I went everyyear with the member and I was
like we have to win this.
And the last year we won, wewon our flight and I'm like I,
we like I think we went out inthe first hole.
To shoot out first was maybethe second hole shoot.
I was like I don't care, I'llget it home with a coal car,
like that's gonna be in myoffice forever.
That's the coolest road.
So yeah, that's sick.

Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
Yeah, maybe the thing , bro, like I mean it's the you
look out for the people thatlook out for you always.
That is a core lesson in life, right?
Yeah, look out for the peoplethat look out for you.

Speaker 2 (01:29:27):
So, and I have to give you guys a shout out big
time because you guys have Imean, it's honestly like
everybody kind of knew I was newand the support that I've got
like after the the first.
Obviously I think I disrupted afew things a little bit, I
guess I like to say it but comein as kind of selling some
different stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:29:42):
And then with too much heat, too fast.

Speaker 2 (01:29:44):
I definitely came in with a lot of heat really fast
for sure yeah.
I didn't know really how toscale it.
Honestly, to be totally honest, right, I never thought about
doing a second show.
Right, be totally honest right Inever thought about doing a
second show, right.
So my first show I was like Ijust let it rip.
I mean, we went for six hours.
It was, it was bananas.
And then you realize, then youlearn a really great wet and out
lesson like six hours ofpacking boxes the next night and

(01:30:04):
you know ordering an amazonprinting, you know a shipping
label machine from amazon andand sourcing boxes from usps.
And then some somebody's got aground advantage and so you got
to go in your garage and findanother little box.
It's not a USPS, you know a box.
So it's just some valuablelessons.
But, um, you know, I was justsaying like the guys, like you
know, obviously you guys andsome of the other sellers that

(01:30:26):
like message me and like, hey, dude, you did a great, it was a
banger show.
But um, I know I can tellyou're just learning, like call
me, let's, let's chat.
I have some ideas for you.
And that's a little bit ofwhere now the brand that we're
going to try to launch and dosome stuff with that came from,
and so we're super excited aboutthat too.

Speaker 3 (01:30:43):
So All right.
So I know we got a lot ofwhatnot people tuning in, so I'm
trying to figure this out.
Guys, help me out.
I know where's the fairway.
I didn't know him, as in theflood.
I know I asked that question inthe chat.
No, this was a month or so ago.
Oh, yeah, okay, okay, I do knowabout that.
Okay, so shout out where's thefairway on whatnot?

(01:31:04):
He hasn't been, he hasn't beenon lately, but where's the
fairways?
The man, um, the community camebehind him on whatnot, like
massive ways.
I donated money, I bought stufffrom him, but there was
situations that people neverseen.
But the community on whatnotwill come together 100%.

(01:31:26):
Like it's crazy, like where'sthe fair?
Do you even?
Do you know where's the fairway?
Matt, yeah, you're new.
So it was like a month ago, buteverybody, he had a show where
he was like spilling the beansand, um, we were all donating to
him and it's like that's what'sso dope.
Everybody comes together andeverybody supports, supports

(01:31:49):
each other.
That's what's so cool about it.
Um, but yeah, I'm sorry, I wastrying to catch up on this chat
because these guys are talkingabout where's the fairway.
Yeah, up on this chat becausethese guys are talking about
where's the fairway.
Yeah, I, I guys, I know I, Iwas there for it, but, um, I
didn't know, I didn't know if hewas in the flood, but the flood
is the most recent topic.
So sorry, sorry, sorry, shoutout, where's the fairway?

(01:32:11):
That's the man.
Hey guys, hey guys, hey guys isthat a gong?

Speaker 1 (01:32:20):
no, that's.
That's joe's monstrosity of amicrophone boom that he refuses
to upgrade.

Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
Yeah, can we get on?
Can we find him?
Can we find him?
Hey, at least I got amicrophone.

Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
I got a microphone, at least shit if I want to.

Speaker 1 (01:32:34):
Well, you're on a podcast I would hope so for sure
yeah, you need to go the audioequipment uh, whatnot?
Section and buy a new boom, buysome new lights, buy a new
video or audio processor so Ican have that one back and give
it to.
I know what I'm getting joe forchristmas man, I mean, that's
the easiest all the time I'mgonna get him a lamp.

Speaker 2 (01:32:56):
I'm a Timu, I'm going to buy him like three lamps
Three lamps.
I'll only buy Timu.

Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
Only Timu shit for me bro, all right.
Let's get into this match.
That Joe was telling me about.
What is up with this match?
And off the tour truck, oh manWell so I was in a stream, uh.

Speaker 2 (01:33:20):
So I did a little streaming this weekend and we
were doing our sunday stream.
Uh, I guess, kind of in thelast minute situation, we did
one on saturday.
We weren't planning on doingone on sunday, we had one
scheduled for monday.
It was, uh, sunday afternoon,we, to my wife and I tracy, we
were packing boxes and I waslike man, you know what, like
I'm gonna, I'm going to, I'mgoing to stream.
So I went into the office, I'mgoing to, I'm going to drink a

(01:33:41):
beer, I'm going to stream, I'mgoing to kind of clean up my, my
golf room and uh, you know if Isell a few things like whatever
.
So we're in there and um, uh,we're streaming and and there
was a, I don't know, there waslike a hundred.
Uh, it's going pretty well andlike I always like I think one
of the cool things in thecommunity like everybody always
shouts everybody out and tellsyou to attack, go follow them

(01:34:03):
and so, and like I've beenpaying attention, like I've been
doing a lot of research and I'mdoing some other stuff, but I
got uh and uh.
So off tour truck, who runs agreat show, uh, brendan from off
tour truck was a banger of ashow selling just some super
sick scotty cameron um stuff.
I noticed, yeah, he was in thechat.
I was like, oh, hey, off to atruck in the chat and I, I mean,

(01:34:23):
I, I probably had a couple ofbeers in me, um, uh, nothing
major, and I'm a jokester anddan no, so you guys are all
jokesters, so, um, so I think Iwas like I I said something
along the lines of, uh, like man, that guy's got some serious
heat, like he's got some seriouskind of games as I whoop your
ass at golf, but you've got someserious stuff.

(01:34:43):
I was just, I mean just kind ofin a playful way.
And next thing, you know, he'slike, co-host me in right now,
co-host me in.
And I I've never met brandon, Idon't know what kind of golfer
he is, whatever, I've been on it.
You know I've been, I'vefollowed his shows, um, and I
apparently I woke up a little.
I woke up a bear, woke up alittle bear, um, so we co-host

(01:35:04):
him in.
There's some pretty fun uh,chatter.
And he's like, well, fuck, he'slike we're gonna put your money
where your mouth is.
Let's play, let's play a match.
He goes, I'll put up, let'splay a thousand dollar match.
He goes, we'll put up both.
Put up a thousand bucks, hegoes, I'll play you anywhere.
And I was like.
I was like, okay, well, I meanI got a lot of travel.
I was like, but because I'llcome there tomorrow, and I was
like, well, I was like,unfortunately I can't do
tomorrow, but yeah, we'll getall the books, like we'll get.
And this is this was.

(01:35:27):
You know, I've got to payattention who the who the
biggest sellers are on the appright now.
I think I think in the golfside of things, take five is
probably the the biggest.
Uh, I think pretty sure I yeah,he's got 44,000 followers on
the app.
He's got 160,000 followers onInstagram.
Obviously, he's doing somepretty awesome stuff.
Don't think he's ever been toany of my shows.

(01:35:47):
I've been on his streams, butTake 5 was in that show too.
So at this point the chat'sgoing pretty crazy.
Like, oh, off to a truck versustradition, like this is gonna
be great.
Uh, yeah, and he was talkingsome pretty heavy smack, which
is totally cool.
That's, that's awesome.
Um, uh.
And so take five was in the chat, or he was in the, in the

(01:36:08):
stream, and he goes next thing.
You know, he's like stream mein right now.
And I was like, oh shit.
I was like take five is in.
Like take five is in my, islike in my stream right now.
It's awesome.
Like, let's stream him in.
Uh, again, like I didn't knowoff to a truck's name obviously
it's brandon, right, and I, youknow, I, I know a little bit
about take five.
Um, uh, so I'm like, okay, that's awesome.

(01:36:29):
And so he comes in and he's sowe co-host him in.
And uh, um, I and he's like, well, hey, I want to get behind.
He's like this is awesome, thisis great.
He goes.
I'll tell you what uh, I'mgoing to throw a thousand
dollars in for the winner andhe's like, if you guys can do it
on either july 21st or 22nd,before I go to europe, um, I'll

(01:36:50):
come down and I'll stream dirtfool the match.
So we'd agreed that we weregoing to both, that brendan and
I off to our truck, and just wewere going to stream during the
match, um, but we, uh, but sonow take five is going to come
down and stream as well.
It sounds like we have a coupleother guys coming into town.
Uh, we had some brent and I hada long three-hour chat today.

(01:37:10):
Uh, we've kind of decided to doit, to kind of go a little bit
of a of a charity route withthis one as well.
So, uh, we're gonna raise moneyfor the.
I'm here in Houston, texas.
We were not personally affectedby the flood, so I don't want
anybody to think about that.
But between Brendan and acouple of guys who have this
idea to raise some money for theflood victims over here, it's

(01:37:33):
about an hour away from whereTracy and I live and we've
gotten a lot of people to get onboard with this.
So we're going to play 18 holestroke play match.
It is going to be called thematch.
We'll have the poster outtomorrow.
I think you're going to see itall over the app and over some
over some socials.
I think you guys will get akick out of that.
A little play on on the TNTsthe match.
We've got got in touch to EAcarts.

(01:37:59):
If you're not following EAcarts on Instagram or seeing
what they're doing with theirinfluencer movement, I got to be
a guest of theirs about a weekago up in New Jersey at the PJ
Beams event.
I talked to TJ Johnson, who'sthe CEO of EA carts.
He's going to send down acouple of golf bikes, so we're
both going to be riding theirgolf bikes.
These are golf motorcycles youcan golf on.
They go about 25 miles an hour.

(01:38:19):
So we'll have those.
We're going to be streamingright from there um riding those
.
We've got um.
I've got some special guestscoming.
I think we're going to do some.
Uh, we're going to try to dosome.
We've got uh, we've already havesponsors, so we've got 500
sponsors for every um r3.
So we'll do closest to the pin.
We'll each close to the pins.
And then a client of mine was ona stream today and he said he's

(01:38:43):
gonna back uh, five hundreddollars for for a charity of my
choice.
So we've already done.
We've already raised twentyfive hundred dollars.
Uh, we haven't even teed offyet.
Um, which is awesome.
Um and uh, we're gonna try toraise a bunch of money.
We're gonna do giveaways duringthe show.
We're trying trying tohopefully do one or two, a whole
.
We may do a little stream afterthe match as well, and then I

(01:39:04):
think, if we can, we're going totry to just take the money over
to that area and get with acharity and present them with
the cash or a check the next day, on Tuesday.
So we think this is going to bebig, or a check the next day on
Tuesday.
So we think this is going to bebig.
We think that in the next 72hours, some of the marketing and
media that we're going to do,we can really turn this in.

(01:39:26):
But, man, we've gotten greatnotes from a lot of the sellers
on the app and a lot of thebuyers on the app.
I think it's going to beawesome.
So he's very obsessed withtrying to beat me by 20 strokes.
He thinks he's trying to beatme by by 20 strokes.
He thinks he's going to.

Speaker 1 (01:39:42):
He's going to be um you know have you heard anything
about his golf game?
Do you know?

Speaker 2 (01:39:51):
Yeah, so I guess he's pretty good.
He was assistant prof, uh, at aclub in Ohio for a couple of
years.
Um, uh, everybody says he's agreat golfer.
Again, I've never, never playedwith him and uh, he could be a
great golfer.
I've never, never played withhim and uh, he could be a great
golfer.
Um, you know, I I'm not telling, I'm not crowning myself, uh,
uh, as the as, uh, I wouldn'tcrown myself as anything I'm.
I, I'm a retired, uh, golfprofessional.
Uh, not a golf pro.
Um, I taught 60 yard ladiesbunker clinics for a living.

(01:40:15):
Uh, I could get around the golfcourse, uh, pretty good, I
don't have a problem.
But, um, you know, I, I get, I,I play, I play.
I've been playing client golffor the last seven years.
So, uh, you know, I don'treally let a around a golf,
whether it's 65, 75 or 85, uh,really ruin my life.
So I don't really feel like Ihave a lot of risk here, right,

(01:40:36):
I mean, I've got about fourthousand dollars.
I'm brand new to the app.
I mean, I think the last thingthat would happen.
I mean, you don't really feellike I have a lot of risk here,
right, I mean, I've got about4,000 followers.
I'm brand new to the app.
I mean I think the last thingthat would happen.
I mean you don't want to loseto me, right?
But I'm just kidding.
Either way, it's going to befun.
I hope we both play some goodgolf, rob said.

Speaker 1 (01:40:52):
Rumor has, he's a plus two.
Okay, that's cool.

Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
That's cool.
That's cool.
I heard plus four.
I don't know.
I've never seen the guy's golfswing, never seen him play.
He's not in gin so he'sdefinitely not in gin.
So there's no red or sure I'm aone.
You can go look at my wildscoring history.
It's interesting because I playa lot of my golf on the road
right, so I'm always at a newgolf course every day.

Speaker 1 (01:41:15):
That helps, that helps, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:41:18):
So you wanted to come down.
I'm a member at a course herein Houston so he wanted to do it
there.
It's a good golf versus fun,super playable.
What course we're playing?
Highland Pines.
So talk to the pro.
Today we're going to play atfour o'clock four o'clock
central time on July 21st, 18holes stroke play match usga

(01:41:43):
rules.
He's very big on on the, so hey, that's fine.
it was like it's like going to agoddamn us open qualifier on so
, but hey, man, I'm game like uh, you know, um, I think he
thinks I'm gonna shoot like 95,which that would be the first
time.

Speaker 3 (01:41:57):
yeah, he's like if he shoots like 95, which that
would be the first time.

Speaker 2 (01:41:59):
Yeah, he's like if he shoots a 90 and 85, that'd be
the first time since, like highschool golf, so um 42, but um, I
mean, if I'm getting close to90, I'll just start hitting
seven iron.
But that would also.
I also told him if I said, if Ishoot 90, I'll play pickleball
and bocce for the rest of mylife.

(01:42:19):
It's not happening, no, we'llhave a good time.
I think we can turn this intosomething great.
I think this is going to besomething cool.
I think it could be alsosomething bigger too.
Right, we can get a lot ofsellers.
I think it'd be fun to have ayou could turn.
Well, look at what the matchturned into, right, if you just
look at that platform and I'mnot saying we're tagloids or

(01:42:40):
Phil Mickelson, and I'm notsaying that we have that kind of
pull in this world, but, like,we also have streaming and and
this form of media is a big deal, right.
So you know who knows what thiscould become down the road.
But we're going to.
We're going to go to the firstone and we're going to hype it
up.

Speaker 3 (01:42:51):
So I think it's fantastic for the app.
I love it so much I hopefullycan get down there.
I did get cleared for sundayand monday perfect, I did get
cleared, but dan is not clear.

Speaker 2 (01:43:09):
That's what we can figure out.

Speaker 3 (01:43:10):
We can figure out a way to get down here, so that's
no one question.
Can we play on tuesday?

Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
I'm looking at you play out yeah, absolutely 100.
Or you play on sunday, soeither one okay, so me and dan
might fly out late anything herewhere I was invited to this I
don't know everybody's invitedeverybody's.

Speaker 4 (01:43:27):
Yeah, you gotta get on whatnot bro, you gotta get on
whatnot, oh jesus uncle churchis coming um, you know um, and
I'll tell you we'll see

Speaker 2 (01:43:39):
where this thing we'll see this evolves.
I uh, we've got a couple of Idon't want to, I don't want to
advance, spoil some things, butwe've got a couple of phone
calls, uh to make tomorrow thatI think could be really really
cool and, uh, some bigannouncements over the next
couple days and we got like twoweeks to I'm a marketing guy,
right.
So we got two weeks to do thisand I told brennan today.
I said, hey, if we're gonna dothis, we're gonna do it right,

(01:44:00):
uh and uh.
So we're about to see what, uh,what brown bear does when he
puts his mind to something tomake something really good.
It's gonna be fun uh and hethinks that he thinks my world's
gonna be ruined if I, if I haveabout a few minutes.
No, I think this is gonna begood for everybody, so it's all
all good.
I'm the underdog too, which isfun.

(01:44:20):
I don't get to be the underdog.
Well, I'm usually layingstrokes every time I play, so
this was fun.
I love it, man.
Yeah, for sure I should haveasked him for a couple of
strokes aside.
I guess We'll see.

Speaker 4 (01:44:31):
Yeah, with the way he's talking.

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
I asked him today.
I said how you away boy.
You go look at him on instagram.
Oh my god, I mean, he's likethis is the.
This is the battle of bigversus little, for sure.
And and he's got a super flatwrist at the top and I'm a
little bit cuppy I was like wegot the ball two different ways
and I outweigh you by twolinebackers everyone's swing is
different.

Speaker 3 (01:44:54):
Everyone's got a different game bro and everybody
gets the ball in the hole adifferent way, and there ain't
nothing wrong with that.
You know what I mean, and it'sI.
You know I'm always worried, weary of the people that talk a
big game, so I'm so stoked forit.
I think it's fantastic for theapp, like and people are talking
about it, which is awesome, anduh, I cannot, I can't wait.

(01:45:17):
I hope I can get down thereCool.

Speaker 2 (01:45:20):
Well, you have a place to stay, we got a golf
course to golf and we got somegolf bikes and I think there's
going to be some fun things, solooking forward to that.
So appreciate you guys lettingme come on and talk about that a
little bit.
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (01:45:38):
Can't wait to follow along now.
Follow TN Golf on Whatnot.
Can I?

Speaker 3 (01:45:44):
ask you what's the streaming theory?
Is it people streaming it onWhatnot?

Speaker 2 (01:45:51):
Yeah, so I've been thinking about that a little bit
.
I think we should probably putsome good minds together.
Obviously, if we all were, ifeverybody was streaming, what is
that?

Speaker 1 (01:46:01):
There's a platform out right now.
It's a golf live streamingplatform.
A couple people have sent memessages.
I'll I'll look, find out whatthat was, because there's a.
It's basically a.
It's designed for golf, to livestream golf matches oh, that's
cool uh well, you should totally.

Speaker 2 (01:46:17):
Well, let me know if you find out what that is,
because that sounds amazing.
I know that brennan is going tostream on his, so we've got.
The cool thing about the golfbikes from ea bikes is like they
should have a cell phone holder, like a charging cell phone
holder on the bike, so you canyeah you can clip your thing on
there and your phone will chargeat that time so we can stream
live.
So I think definitely the planis for us to stream on our

(01:46:40):
channels, um, and then take fivestreaming, obviously, uh, so
you kind of got the match goingfrom.
You know three different angles.
If you will, uh, we're gonnatalk to uh, I guess, yeah yeah,
we're talking to the camera crewtomorrow, hopefully we can get.
So hopefully we get like a bigstreamer there so we can have
like a mega platform or at leastsome some video where we can
get a big streamer there, so wecan have a mega platform or at
least some video where we canclip it down and do some cool

(01:47:03):
stuff for that.
So yeah, working on things.
You guys asked great questions.
This is what I told Brennantoday.
I said we've got to figure outthe details because I want this
to be really good.
I'm a detail guy.

Speaker 3 (01:47:12):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's going to be good regardless
on this.
So I think what?
I think it would be great ifwhatnot like could push
everything to one area, like thegolf match, you know, like it's
at the top of everyone's feedand whoever's like live at the
match would be great.
Or it's just like.
It's just like the whatnot golf, because I see this being

(01:47:36):
future, thoughtful, right, likeit can happen again.
So it's like if whatnot createdanybody that follows anyone on
golf, like there is the matchwhatnot page and everybody's
auto following somebody, right, and I know this could be a
thought to go into future dates.

(01:47:56):
But, like because it it isgoing to be big and it could be
even bigger in the future, right, because this shit ain't
stopping, bro, like it isgrowing every day.
So many of like the people thatI've had as supporters of my
brands are like sending me shitnow to sell on the platform.
It's not going away.
So if there's one central spotfor like something as big as

(01:48:21):
this, like if they could createan area, I agree, where
everybody sees it you know whatI mean.

Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
I think I think somebody's already reached out
to the whatnot golf group aboutabout this, and so I think we
have some more conversationsahead in the next couple of days
.
Um, and I agree, I think that'sa great idea.
I don't know how that works inthe platform, but yeah, we
definitely.

Speaker 3 (01:48:39):
Jeremy might know.

Speaker 2 (01:48:43):
Jeremy, do you know?

Speaker 3 (01:48:43):
Yeah, he's a software engineer.

Speaker 2 (01:48:46):
Oh shit, Okay, awesome According to is there a
way you can write me a code so Ican get a golf game between
that, because he doesn't think Ihave it.

Speaker 5 (01:48:55):
Yeah, let me see if I can put that together, because
I need it as well.

Speaker 2 (01:48:59):
You can have friends at high places.
That's great I can't wait towatch that.
July 21st.

Speaker 3 (01:49:11):
So Dan, there's no way you can take off Sunday, the
20th.

Speaker 4 (01:49:16):
It's Summer League.
Sorry, I say it's.

Speaker 1 (01:49:18):
Summer League, I would have to leave that night.
20th, it's Summer League,summer State, summer League.

Speaker 4 (01:49:19):
You can't even hear the golf tournament.
I would have to leave thatnight or early Monday morning.

Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
Well, the match isn't until 4 o'clock Eastern Time,
so you left early morning.

Speaker 3 (01:49:29):
So I got to find a way to get Tuesday off and we
got to make it back to Vegas by8.30 pm to jump on the podcast.

Speaker 4 (01:49:38):
We got to do a rodeo trip.

Speaker 3 (01:49:40):
And then we also have to play around a golf Tuesday
morning, go to the airport, comeback for the podcast.
We can work on it, that's easy.
That's pretty easy.
We gain two hours.
Ih is one of the largestairports in the country.

Speaker 2 (01:49:57):
My man and you gain two hours going that way as a
flight to Vegas in 20 minutes.

Speaker 3 (01:50:01):
Add two kids.
Add two kids that go to schooland a wife that works.
That's the hard part, sure.

Speaker 2 (01:50:08):
You guys have a lot more responsibilities than me.
I can't even get my dog to hangout near with me right now.
My wife has been sitting acrossfrom me the entire time
watching the show.
I would love Hi Tracy, heyTracy, I think she's.
I have to.

Speaker 3 (01:50:28):
I have to leave for the airport and for I know
you're going to Palm Springs, Iknow, but I can.

Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
I can do this all night, so I don't care, I'll
figure it out.
I haven't even packed my bagyet, but it's just shorts and
t-shirts and golf shirts are youplaying anywhere in palm
springs?

Speaker 1 (01:50:40):
yeah, yeah, so we'll play a bunch.

Speaker 2 (01:50:41):
Uh, I think we tomorrow we play, we land and we
play nicholas.
Uh, it's only going to be 113degrees when we land, so it
should be good.
Uh, we got a 3, 30 t time atnicholas course at pga west and
then, uh, I think, uh, let's seethird.
So thursday or the thursday wewere supposed to play the
Vintage, but they are totallyall the super private clubs are

(01:51:01):
doing all of their summermaintenance right now, so we
have a lot of access.
We're staying at a beautifulhouse, a buddy's house, at the
Tradition golf course.
There we stay on the 12th floorTradition sick.
Yeah, but unfortunately that'salso in major.
I can tell you what so bad thatboth of the pros are like dude,
you can come out and play ifyou guys want to, but the greens
are going to be running a fiveright, because they're doing all
their summer maintenance Justdon't tell anybody?

(01:51:24):
Yeah right.
So those clubs, those members, aren't in town this time of year
, so we're playing a fewoddballs we got like.
So, thursday, I think, we'redoing Desert Will uh, desert
willow, I think, in the morningmaybe, and then, yeah, fun

(01:51:45):
course.
And then back to the bestcommunity in america, pgos
mountain.
There's very few golfers rightnow.
You gotta really pick andchoose right now if you're going
out to the desert, becauseeverybody's doing punching and
stuff like that.
So, yeah.
But we are playing, uh, 36holes at Big Horn on Friday, and
then I can't remember ourSaturday.
So we're going 18, 36, 36, 36and then hitting the road, so

(01:52:08):
pretty brave.

Speaker 1 (01:52:09):
Please drink a lot of water.

Speaker 2 (01:52:10):
We've got some 7 am tea time and we've got some 3
o'clock tea time, so those 3o'clock tea times with 1.30 is
going to be a little bit rough.

Speaker 1 (01:52:19):
I played a course called the springs last time I
was there.
That was like so under just notknown like old money palm
springs, that it's close to themadison club um, not as fancy,
of course, but uh man it was itwas amazing, there's some really
good golf down there, yeah I'mreally golfing in a bubble.

Speaker 2 (01:52:38):
So it's awesome.
And we have this wild groupthat just loves to go to the
hottest place on earth for fivedays in July.
It's a cheap golf trip and weeat Del Taco and play golf all
day.

Speaker 3 (01:52:53):
There you go, thumber .
There you go, thumber.
Go to the hottest place onearth in the middle of the
summer, when I started thebreakfast ball.

Speaker 1 (01:53:01):
I wanted to do something crazy, and so we did.
Um, we went in July to deathValley and played the course out
there, Furnace Creek, Crazyyeah.
And the first year we did it toraise money for Southern, uh,
the, the, what's the, the, thethe it's the.
It's the GA, no, it's the Goshdarn it.
First T, first T, first T isSouthern Nevada.

(01:53:23):
So we raised like 600 bucks forthem.
Awesome, and everybody kind oflike thought it was a cool idea.
And we played four rounds ofgolf and the hottest, we were
the only ones on the golf courseand they let us just play as
much as we wanted and we didfour rounds.
It was me and a buddyUnbelievable.
We did four rounds.
It was an absolute blast.
How hot was it?
116 was the hottest.

(01:53:44):
It got to All right.
So the funny thing is, becausewe stayed the night, the lodge
hooked us up to let us staythere and so we woke up in the
morning.
It's pitch black.
It was like 78 degrees outsideand like 88 degrees.
Um, we go to the course and andthe unique thing about at
furnace creek course is there'sa water table underneath the

(01:54:06):
golf course.
So all the water, they, theywater all night long and it all
drains into the water table.
They let the, they let thecourse dry out all day long and
at night they pump the waterback up.
That's how they keep it greenand it's not really green, it's
like greeny.
Um, so the the third round wasthe hottest it got.

(01:54:27):
It was like 116 and we're likethis was awesome, we had a blast
.
We're gonna do it next year.
So we book it again next year.
Um, I got the wounded warriorson vault.
My dad, former military, Ireached out to a lot of his
friends, we raised it was likethree grand, something like that
Awesome.
And I had four of my me andthree of my buddies.

(01:54:47):
We're going to go back is DeathValley Challenge 2.
We're going to play 81 holes.
We're going to break our oldrecord.
We're going to play four roundsand nine holes, right, so we do
the same thing.
We drive out there, it's middlejuly, heat wave, and we wake up
in the morning 5, 30, it'sblack.
We go outside, it's 112.

(01:55:09):
Oh, my god.
And I went oh fuck, yeah, yeah.
So the hottest it got that daywas 132.
Holy shit, yeah, that that wow.
And did you play 81 holes?
We know that we played 76.
Then they turned the water onand and we had to leave that's
amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:55:27):
And nobody fell out.
No, everybody made it oh, dude,it was.

Speaker 1 (01:55:31):
It was rough at some points, but yeah, it's it was.

Speaker 2 (01:55:33):
It was amazing that's like you, like the day.
You're like the david gogginsgolf.
I wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (01:55:39):
I wouldn't make it, no, no.
Don't even give him that title, bro, don't give him that title,
that's bananas, but it was somuch fun and that course is so
unique and Jeremy was just inDeath Valley so he knows what,
what the, how weird it is downthere, but it's, it's a
convection oven.

(01:56:00):
You know it's, it's a convectionoven.
You know it's, it's the.
The airflow is just like thisin that Valley and so you're
going down the hole and the windis coming from behind you and
you turn the corner and you'recoming back.
I'm like, oh, I'm hitting intothe wind, and then it's a
crosswind and and then sometimesyou'd hit a ball, and as soon
as we'd get above the trees, itlike move like 30 yards.
It's wild down there.
We lost.
Jeremy, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:56:22):
So can I ask you one last question?
Obviously you guys got any goodgolf trips coming up the rest
of the year.
You guys ain't going anywhereexciting and anything you look
forward to.

Speaker 1 (01:56:28):
Yes, we are, yeah, we're going to Arizona, to
Payson Arizona.

Speaker 4 (01:56:34):
That's not booked yet , though.

Speaker 1 (01:56:36):
We need to finalize that, yeah, I need to do that
soon, soon, uh, we're playingchaparral pines and the ridge
sweet.
And then, jeremy, uh, joe and Iare going to nebraska jeremy
and jeremy that's what I saidjeremy joe did.
I say damn yeah yeah, jeremyjoe and I are going with a buddy

(01:56:57):
of ours To go play Landman andwhat's the other one we're
playing.
Prairie Club.

Speaker 2 (01:57:05):
What a trip, what a trip.

Speaker 1 (01:57:09):
First, gilhance Valley, neal.

Speaker 2 (01:57:15):
If you need a Valley Neal hookup, oh, don't even do
that.

Speaker 4 (01:57:19):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (01:57:21):
That's what.

Speaker 4 (01:57:22):
I told you guys you need to try to get out there on
your way back to Denver.

Speaker 3 (01:57:26):
Guys, we need to do it Like four hours after our
last round Shit.

Speaker 2 (01:57:30):
I'll be tough to squeeze Ballet Neal in.
If you have to find a windowand you need assistance, just
let me know we got some.
Might just have to skip thatlast day, dude Doke is fantastic
Valley, neal is bananas and Ihave not done Landman or Prairie
Club, and I know they're bothamazing but, Valley Neal is like
it's a banger, that's what I'veheard it is a banger, Wow look

(01:57:52):
at that we haven't done atwo-hour, two hours show in
forever a while a couple ofgreat, a couple of great trips
to look forward to.
That's the most fun.
That's probably one of the mostfun things about golf trip
right, just the anticipationlooking looking for oh yeah,
talking to it all the time rightwearing your wife out about it,
like I'm just so excited.
Aren't you excited about ourbaby?
No, I'm excited about goinggolfing with the boys honestly I

(01:58:12):
say it all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:58:13):
It's like you have to and it's it's comparative to
life.
Like you have to have somethingto look forward to in life,
right, whether it's raising yourkids or a great steak that you
bought that you're going to cooktonight, and golf trips, if you
plan them in the future.
Like it's something to lookforward to and strive for, and

(01:58:34):
push every day to bring yourselfcloser to that moment.
And then, when it's done, yougot to book another one and then
you look forward to it.
You know like I'm so down withgolf trips, you know what I mean
.

Speaker 2 (01:58:48):
Always got to have a golf trip on the next man.

Speaker 3 (01:58:50):
That's my speaking of that, speaking of that, we
could depart Monday, july 21st,at five 10 from uh harry reed
mccarran airport, we'd arrive at10 10 and we could.
We could leave houston at 7 25and get back home at 8 35.
The monday in and out.

(01:59:11):
We don't see you down.
Are you down?
I I think katie's off ontuesdays, so because for the
podcast my wife is off ontuesdays for the podcast.
Are you down?
If I think katie's off ontuesdays, so because for the
podcast my wife is off ontuesdays for the podcast, are
you down, if I can?

Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
go confirm it right now.

Speaker 4 (01:59:24):
Yeah, he's not talking to me.
I wasn't well, yeah but let meconfirm tomorrow with work and
stuff all right price might goup price might go up.

Speaker 3 (01:59:33):
You better swipe me 12 hours I already set my custom
limit.

Speaker 4 (01:59:41):
Fuck that swipe button, it gets you in trouble.

Speaker 1 (01:59:45):
All right.
So last thing I want to getinto, and it's like two hours at
the end of the episode.
No one's going to be listeningto this, but I'm going to do it
anyways, because I could alwaysput it in there.
So we last month we had thegiveaway where Hesherhack won
the driver, and so I kind ofwant to keep on doing the
giveaways, but I don't know whatto give away.

(02:00:06):
So I've got two options hereand the first one, and I don't
know if I want to do this, butI'm thinking I'm going to do it.
So we got an Odyssey JailbirdPlumber's Neck or CH Crank Neck,
the custom LA Golf SpecialEdition with a Golf Pride

(02:00:29):
reverse taper grip, so we can dothat as the giveaway this month
.
Or I have this this is from theLance Reader episode when we
had him on from Crank Golf.
This is the newest crank driverthat just came out.
The Bryson driver.
This is the.
Bryson driver.

(02:00:49):
Well his is a little different.
His has about six degrees lessof loft than this does.
So this has a Motari Fujikarashaft Stargrip and I mean the
head cover is pretty sick for acrank.
So leave a comment on thisvideo on YouTube.

(02:01:13):
Let us know what you want us togive away and whatever gets the
most votes, that's what we'lldo.
Joe's not even listening.
He's booking points.

Speaker 2 (02:01:27):
Joe's on the phone with United right now.
How many points do I have?

Speaker 1 (02:01:30):
He's selling right now.
Look at him.

Speaker 3 (02:01:34):
Thumper in the chat.
He said Levi was co-hostingwith Caddy Boji.
He's a caddy out in New York,New York right.

Speaker 4 (02:01:45):
Camera.

Speaker 3 (02:01:46):
Jj yeah but Levi, he's holding true to your pick
bro.
Shut up 4Rite, 4rite91.
At 4Rite91 on the whatnot app, that's not 4Rite.
A legend out for it, here crankscott's saying dude, I love
that guy's show.

Speaker 4 (02:02:05):
He's got like he's fucking funny.
You're fucking funny as shit.
Scott, I love watching yourshow.
You got like this dry humor, you're one.

Speaker 1 (02:02:17):
Kill me, bro.

Speaker 3 (02:02:17):
Give away scotty or some lefty clubs.
No, uh, dude scout, for it'sthe man dude, he's fucking funny
.
He makes me laugh, den caddyI'll give away a den caddy yeah
hey, I do have a dead candycoming, because everybody asks
for fucking den caddies.
I got one all the time, all thetime you got a den caddy.
You got a seven wood.
You got a nine wood.
You got a 11 wood, you got a7-wood.

Speaker 2 (02:02:38):
You got a 9-wood you got a 11-wood, you got a 20-wood
, you got a lab, you got a grips.

Speaker 4 (02:02:41):
You got a Scotty.
You got a Scotty LA Golf driver.

Speaker 3 (02:02:44):
For sure Any Nike clubs.

Speaker 4 (02:02:50):
Any TaylorMade ZT Spiders.

Speaker 3 (02:02:52):
For sure, let me show it to you Chad.
Let me show it to you Chad Nikeclubs I chat.
Let me show it to you, chat, nike clubs you want.

Speaker 2 (02:02:58):
I think you can literally launch a show that
says everything that you askedfor everything you asked for in
the show.
Do you have a lefty ladiesninewood?

Speaker 3 (02:03:06):
absolutely, do, absolutely believe it or not, do
well that's also.
We're gonna run out of buckwe're gonna run out of.
At one point it mightintertwine with youtube.
Who knows, the future isunpredictable.

Speaker 1 (02:03:19):
Is running at a buck, even like does it have any
value?
Yeah, that's a great questionbecause every I I'm starting
this at a dollar chat and it'slike bid, bid, bid 300.

Speaker 4 (02:03:32):
It's like so you didn't start it at a dollar I
will say this you technicallydid, but I will say this
sometimes you can snooze, youcan catch people snoozing on
that timer, especially if it'slike a five second or ten second
or usually five second or threesecond sudden death like.
There's been times where I'vepeople just fall asleep and I

(02:03:52):
picked up a brand new dozen prov1x.
Twice it's happened, or I'vepaid under 20 for brand new,
brand new pro v1.

Speaker 3 (02:03:59):
So oh, there's, there's moments you.

Speaker 4 (02:04:01):
You can get lucky with the one dollar stars, but
chances are.
You know, if you have 200, 300viewers in your room and you can
start at a dollar, they'restill going to bid it up to what
the price is going to be.
You know you got 30 people inthe room, then you can probably
eat.
You're probably gonna eat shiton that item.

Speaker 2 (02:04:16):
For sure.
I think it's definitely a scaryconcept with a low street
People just let it work.

Speaker 3 (02:04:26):
Kevin is actually 100% correct.

Speaker 4 (02:04:31):
Spent way too much fucking money this month.

Speaker 3 (02:04:34):
No, there's been moments where I'd run something
and I was like I need $80 out ofthis and I'll run it.
I'll start at 80 and somebodybuys it for 80.
And then there's moments whereI'm like, okay, I need 80 out of
this.
I'm gonna start as a at adollar and we'll see what
happens.
And it goes for 94.
You know, it's like it's theswipe bro, it's.

Speaker 2 (02:04:56):
It's a genius idea for sure and I know you guys are
I'm not a tiktoker, I don't dotiktok me neither.
I don't do tiktok but I tiktokshop and I was telling down.
This tiktok shop is a waybigger platform than than
whatnot, right and those are all.
Those are all fixed fixedprices right so and there's
clearly sellers in there doing, doing plenty of work, right.

Speaker 1 (02:05:17):
So here on tiktok though, uh, so yeah, so it's a
it's.

Speaker 2 (02:05:21):
This is a different form.
It's an interesting form.
I don't know what, if, what,the you know I think it's a
great analytics study if youstudy it for six months, right,
I mean I mean I was telling danabout this like I've been paying
a lot of attention to metrics,uh on whatnot, I think, and
that's how you have to approachit if you're going to really
make it a business.
Uh, you know what, where yourmargins are, what your, um, you

(02:05:42):
know what sells what, what put,but what, what puts butts in the
seat, right, what gets peoplein the back, what, where you
know you might going to lose onthings, right, but I mean,
anybody's in business to lose,uh, on things.
But so it's really trying tofinding what that honey hole
item no.
No I.

Speaker 3 (02:05:59):
I'm curious.
I'm curious on your thoughtabout this, matt.
Right Like you've had a brandright, so you've had tradition
golf.

Speaker 2 (02:06:07):
Well, tradition, golf is new.
I've had the tradition, but thetradition.

Speaker 3 (02:06:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:06:10):
Yeah, it's our new brand.
Yeah, for sure, so yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:06:12):
But you've had logos made.

Speaker 2 (02:06:15):
You're good.

Speaker 3 (02:06:15):
You're good to go.
I've had my brand for four orfive years, something like that
I've been doing things right andI think I think a lot of like
whatnot now is like people thinkthey can just come in and
create a brand, right, right, sowe have the brand like I have.

(02:06:36):
I have homies that have boughtevery single thing I've ever
dropped for the last five yearsso I can come into it and I can
bring them to the platform andthey'll, they'll, they'll swipe
for me, they'll, they'll go onto other shows that I recommend
because they trust me.
You know what I mean, and Ithink people that come on the

(02:06:59):
platform and I will tell this toyou truthfully because I'm an
honest guy if you're not readyto take the leap like, build
your brand, you have to have abrand.
That's what whatnot is.
There's a brand, there's,there's somebody that's in front
of the camera that you relateto, and they'll, they'll, they

(02:07:19):
have a brand.
Be a brand.
It's all about brand.
It's all about brand.
I can sell you a club I boughtfor a dollar from Goodwill and
you'll buy it for 10.
And if I tell you, I like it,you know it's.
It's it's brand, it's a brand.

Speaker 2 (02:07:35):
Well, I think you it's a brand.
Well, I think you and I'll sendyou guys all this podcast that
I think everybody should listento, and if you're curious on on
whatnot, I'll send it to youguys.
And if you can add it in thechat, send it the best 20
minutes.
And Dan, I think I sent it toDano tonight so maybe he can he
can forward it to you.
It's the best 20 minutes tolisten to.
And, gary, it's a.

(02:08:01):
You can't, there's not going tobe.
you know, to be a Peter Millar,to be a, to be a, a row back to
be a to be a and then you've gotthat next layer of you know,
breezy, and and, and, good, goodand and and you know, and then
you've got upcoming brandsMalbon and Red Vanley and stuff
like that.
That's a really hard thing todo about branding yourself, but
I think what, what this is goingto become and I'll tell you.

(02:08:24):
You'll hear it on the, on thepodcast, and I couldn't agree
with it more.
But, like the brand, it's notgoing to be about what's being
sold and who's buying it, it'sgoing to be about who's selling
it Exactly.

Speaker 3 (02:08:36):
Yeah, that's what I mean.
Yeah, you're for sure you arethe brand selling it in the end,
exactly.

Speaker 2 (02:08:39):
Yeah, that's what I mean.
Yeah, you're for sure, you arethe brand.
You are the brand, right, andand it's amazing and we were
talking about this before theshow started like you know, some
guys, some, some shows areharder to watch than others.
Right, I mean, you gotta uh,but they also have people in
them and there are people whowho like that stuff, and that's
totally cool and that that's theinteresting thing about the
world and us as human beings, like somebody likes to sit on
the other side of the phone andget yelled at, or people like

(02:09:02):
watching a crazy show, you know, with stuff going on.
So, yeah, you're right, you'refinding your spot.
That's why there's sevenchannels of daytime TV, right,
and it's why you watch.
You know when you watch thisnews instead of that news, right
?
So, yeah, you got to build that, so I told you I said it on my
podcast or said it on my streamthe other night, but I won't be

(02:09:26):
the black Jim Nance of whatnot.

Speaker 3 (02:09:30):
Tradition is the logo guy.

Speaker 4 (02:09:35):
I shot my shot.

Speaker 2 (02:09:36):
I shot my shot.
Jim Nance, I'm coming for you.

Speaker 3 (02:09:38):
I'm coming for that seat, baby.

Speaker 2 (02:09:39):
I'm going to be the top, so let's go.
He's the logo guy.
You need a logo.

Speaker 3 (02:09:43):
That's where you go.
You go to tuition golf.
He called it out and there'snothing wrong with that and I
love it.

Speaker 1 (02:09:50):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (02:10:06):
Props real quick to your wife a master's patron
chair in our front hallwaystaring at me in the.
I was she's and I'm not allowedto put the camera on her.
And she sat in this master'spatron chair like she's been
sitting on the 18th greenaugusta for two hours.
No pimento cheese sandwich, nota whole year just unbelievable
two hours and 10 minutes Shoutout, Tracy Shout out.
Tradition golf wife.
Tradition golf wife on the app.

Speaker 3 (02:10:27):
Give her a call.

Speaker 2 (02:10:34):
I've been telling my wife I'm like you might need to
create an account soon Just tomonitor us.

Speaker 1 (02:10:43):
We all need live 360 for us, for our right right.
Joe used to have.
Joe used to have the parentscome over to watch the kids so
he can go play golf.

Speaker 3 (02:10:47):
Now he's having to come over so he can sell no, no,
no, I'm not gonna, I'm notgonna interrupt my entire life
to sell on whatnot I will not.

Speaker 2 (02:10:56):
I will say you guys are much more disciplined about
cutting your, cutting yourstreams.
Uh, shorter than me.
I just I'll just go.

Speaker 3 (02:11:03):
Hey, that's what's great, though, bro, like you.
That's the whole thing, bro.
It's exciting.
You never know what'll pop upnext.
You never know it might be a.
It might be abandoned flag.
You might see abandoned flagrun some way.
Maybe we'll swipe.
You know who knows and you alsonever know like what flag
somebody wants yeah, for sure, the flag game has been

(02:11:24):
interesting.

Speaker 2 (02:11:25):
I have a massive collection of flags, um.
So I appreciate you guys, youknow, grabbing some of them.
Man, I've run, and I mean I'vejust run my, I have run my mini
heat, like I know.
There I have another hundred.
That are the the ones youreally, really want.
I'm just trying to debate if Iwant to part with them or not.
But uh we've got some, uh, we'vecalled in some favors, so we've
got some cool ones coming, soI'm excited about about that.

(02:11:47):
Uh, trying to source productright now is a little bit it's
hard, it's hard.

Speaker 3 (02:11:53):
Well, it's tough to start.

Speaker 2 (02:11:54):
Right, I didn't think anything about you know, uh, I
didn't long, I thought it wasone and done so, yeah, yeah,
working on some cool stuff.
So, but motivated by everythingthat you guys been doing,
motivated by your guys support,um, you guys are awesome dude.
I love you guys.
I love it.
I shot out chasing daylight inmy uh in my streams probably
more than nice to do, no, no, Idon't have any grips.

(02:12:15):
So um.
I know I have been uh beggingto come on your show for a long
time now, so I appreciate y'alluh bringing me on.
Man, I appreciate very muchanytime, anytime, anytime,
anytime.
So thank you, you guys are, youguys are doing something great
in golf.
It's awesome.
I'm 100 behind it, so keepdoing that, you may know this.

Speaker 1 (02:12:34):
Does anybody know anybody who has a non-profit for
youth sports teams?
Or point me in the rightdirections to start one
non-profit for youth sportsteams.

Speaker 2 (02:12:45):
There's a guy who's a follower of mine is uh, he's
cop osu.
Uh, he's in vegas right now.
Actually, he's got his.
Uh, he's got a junior.
Uh, he's from ohio.
I've talked to him on the phonea couple times.
I don't know.
I'll ask him.
I don't know if this is anon-profit or not, but it's a

(02:13:07):
cool idea.

Speaker 3 (02:13:08):
I will say most of the firsties take adult clubs,
they sell them and then theytake the money and they buy
youth clubs or pay for trips toHawaiiaii for the board members
yeah, oh, I'm sorry did I saythat out loud, I'm sorry, yeah,
no, probably true.

Speaker 1 (02:13:27):
That's why there's no first t of southern nevada
anymore really there's not.

Speaker 2 (02:13:30):
No, no, wow, what a huge golf market not to have a
first corruption snjga is outhere now, that's yeah did he get
shut down?
Was there some problems?

Speaker 1 (02:13:40):
dude it was.
It was like I said that's why Ididn't do that fundraiser for
them the second year, because itwas like communicating with,
like somebody on aol.
It was like can you give me anyinformation?
Tell me how much money weraised?
Tell me where I can send themoney?
To tell me, you know?
And it took like probably threemonths for them to say, oh,

(02:14:03):
just mail it to the office.
I want to know what this isgoing to.
I want to know where you'regoing to use it for.
Give me something so I canpromote this.
And yeah, it was.
It was bad.

Speaker 4 (02:14:15):
Yeah, hey, kev, just to, just to answer your question
.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, um there, umone comes to mind would be youth
, on course, yeah, um, I knowthat pga junior league pga.

Speaker 3 (02:14:27):
Pga junior league um stuff like that or cut them down
and hand them to somebody thatis showing interest in golf.
I've done that to my child.

Speaker 1 (02:14:40):
The other thing too you can reach out to, like the
golf course that you go to andjust talk to one of the teachers
out there, cause more thanlikely they have a group of kids
that they teach.
And a good way to get in touch.

Speaker 2 (02:14:55):
Yeah, first thing I'd say for first year, that is a
great, I mean first T and mostof them, like anywhere that I've
been, you know virtues areawesome, but you guys are spot
on the pj junior league.
They are making major waves injunior golf.
So and it's a really cool avenuefor kids to get into golf so,
yep, my daughter played for acouple years nice though I
thought when I saw the teamjerseys when they first started
pj junior, this is goofy, thiswill never work, and now and

(02:15:17):
then, but it worked because kidslove that stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:15:20):
They love it.

Speaker 2 (02:15:21):
They love seeing their name on the back of the
thing.
That program exploded Supercool.
Wish they would have had thatwhen we were kids.

Speaker 4 (02:15:33):
Here's a Wilson blade free iron.

Speaker 2 (02:15:36):
I cut down with a steel jab.

Speaker 4 (02:15:38):
Good luck kid.

Speaker 1 (02:15:41):
I wrapped a baseball grip around it.
Here you go.

Speaker 3 (02:15:45):
No, seriously.
I mean, if you guys have kidsor any kids around you, like,
just put a club in their hand.
It could be plastic, it couldbe whatever it is.
Like, just put it in theirhands, they'll find it at one
point.
Everybody finds golf at somepoint in their hands.
They'll find it at one point.
Everybody finds golf at somepoint in their life.
So start them early.
Whether that be a plastic club, like it's the best, bro, I will

(02:16:09):
live and die for that.
I wish I found it earlier in mylife and had that same respect
that I do now for it when I wasyounger.
But now I I get it.
It's the best.

Speaker 2 (02:16:23):
Yes, couldn't agree more.

Speaker 1 (02:16:25):
All right, let's wrap this up.
Matt.
Thank you so much for coming on.
I know you got a flight.

next week, An evening, Tuesdayor Wednesday probably.
