Speaker 2 (05:42):

Speaker 1 (05:43):
we on 343 343, we got
seven more till 350.
It's basketball.
It's crazy, we're, we'regetting there, we're getting
there.
Hey, also a shout out las vegasgolf super store, the golf stop
, uh, and roars golf.
All those people that aresupporting us, thank you so much
.
Uh, atomic golf, uh, they'redoing the joel's doing the
player of the year trophiesagain for us this year.
(06:04):
So, uh, thank you to him forhis support.
He had a bunch of stuff at landman, bunch of ball markers out
there.
So, yeah, I swear, do you wantto start with this?
And, dan, I'm going to forceyou to interact with this.
I'm, I know, whoever came upwith the idea that golf had to
be played with four people only.
I hated that this past weekendbecause there's no reason Dan
(06:28):
shouldn't have been with us.
The pace of play.
We only had an issue, I think.
What one time yeah only onetime.
That was at Tatanka, and oncethat was resolved they were
playing at 7-7.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
No, Dunes was slow.
Yeah, Dunes was slow.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Yeah, Dunes was slow.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, you're right,
you tell the back line.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
It seemed like.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
But there's no reason
he shouldn't have been out
there with us, because, man, youwere missed.
You were missed.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Yeah, but.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
I do recommend
anybody going on a golf trip
with Cliff.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Cliff is the man.
Yeah, cliff, recommend anybodygoing on a golf trip with cliff.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Cliff is the man,
yeah, cliff.
I felt like I was on a breakbecause I didn't have to talk.
I'm a, I'm a yakker, I, I, Idon't shut up and I'm sure
everybody knows that about me.
I I'll talk your ear off if youlet me, and uh, yeah, cliff
kind of has that in control.
So it was nice and he's adigger, he wants information.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
I felt like I was in
the BetterHelp app for about two
hours, on our way to Valentineto go, and the payment failed
and we were digging deep, wewere getting into some soul.
Not soul golf but into the soul.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Jeremy was like just
I couldn't believe it.
I was just just sitting backgoing, wow, I haven't heard
jeremy talk this much about youknow, we know each other, we all
know each other pretty well andthere's just I mean, but cliff
doesn't know us as well becausewe're not around cliff as much.
So cliff had a lot of questionsand he brought up questions.
(08:04):
I never thought to ask, but I'mglad he did, because I found
out shit about jeremy that I hadno idea.
Yeah, which is pretty cool, Itold him.
I said it was like watching abehind the scenes of mtv cribs
episode, because I found out somuch shit about him that I had
no idea about.
So we'll have to fill dan in onall that stuff yeah yeah, that
(08:26):
was interesting, for sure it waspretty awesome.
Cliff is very entertaining.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
He made the drive
also I cliff became a better
golfer after this trip he didabsolutely believe it, 100
percent shut up.
Brand man, you, you in the chat, let's go.
But cliff, definitely, he waslike I.
I get it when we were playing,I think on the final round,
(08:49):
because I rode with cliff on thefinal round, right, yeah, I did
, yes, and he was like he's likebecause he was striping it fun
around and he's like he was,he's like.
I see it.
I was like it's in you, bro,it's in you 100, it's in you,
bro, it's in you 100%, it's inyou, we all saw it.
Oh yeah, it's always been in him, but he's like, I get it.
(09:10):
You know which was cool.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
I told him one of the
biggest things that has helped
me get better is playing withyou guys.
You know, seeing the bettergolfers being able to pick your
brain during stuff.
I mean, it's helped me so muchyeah so don't be.
Don't be.
If you're a beginner or you're,you know, trying to get better.
You're a high handicap player.
Don't be afraid to play with abetter player.
(09:35):
They will help you in ways youjust don't understand dude.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
That's.
It's one of the things I goback to when I used to
skateboard.
Right, I used to like I used toskate at one of the most
well-known skate parks in town, when I I mean years and years
ago, but I'd be like standing ona rails, like I'd run a I want
to try this and they'd be likejust fucking do it, just fucking
go.
And he was way better than me,but he pushed me to go do it and
(10:05):
it's.
It's just one of those things.
It's.
It's with everything in life, you surround yourself with
people that are better than youat something.
You're gonna learn and growbecause of them, the people you
surround yourself with.
I mean it's, it's gonna happen.
Yeah, all percent, whatever allright.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
So the trip started
with.
We landed in Omaha Massiveairport.
If you've ever been there, huge, huge, huge airport, a very
small airport.
It was easy to get in and out of, didn't have any issues, bags
were there and Cliff got therental car and we jetted out and
(10:43):
we should have got the runs offirst off.
But we didn't know how remotethe locations were.
But we headed straight up to uh, south dakota, dakota dunes,
shout out beds, shout out beds, shout out beds.
Wait, austin had a comment here.
I have to golf with bettergolfers.
That's literally how I startedand learned every single time.
(11:04):
I'm out with embarrassing attimes, but that's golf, 100
percent.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
And no one cares all
you gotta do is keep up.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
All you gotta do is
keep up.
Fix your ball marks, fill yourdivots, break your bunkers and
keep up.
Nobody cares what you shoot.
You say it all the time hey, beds.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Shannon says it's
called sewer city and beds want
to know how bad did sue citysmell, do you recall I?
Speaker 2 (11:30):
don't recall a scent
no, it just smelled thick to me.
It just smelled.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
It was that they,
they were playing public enemy
in the public speakers on on themain street.
That we're on that's right, Iforgot about I we were walking
and they, they, they havespeakers on the light post and
they're playing music and publicenemy was playing and we were
like what is?
Speaker 2 (11:53):
going on yeah it's
Susie.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Yeah, people were
dragging the street.
I mean it was the Friday night, hey it was.
It was a throwback to you knowa time gone past, because you
can't do that shit here.
Yeah, I didn't think it smelled.
The hotel we stayed at wascalled the Warrior.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
It was very classy,
very nice spot.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
A buddy of Bed's
suggested we go down to the Deer
Diver or Diver Deer, somethinglike that Food was awesome
Diving elk.
Food was incredible.
I had one of the best chickensalads I've ever had in my life.
It was incredible.
You guys had some burgersBrussels sprouts Fantastic.
(12:41):
Some chili peppers.
Fantastic, fantastic, somechili peppers.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
So yeah, it was, it
was solid.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
We weren't there long
.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
We were in a
different place every night.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah.
So we got to Dakota Dunes and Idon't know it was weird because
I didn't know what to expect.
We're at a private country clubin South Dakota.
It's right in the corner ofSouth Dakota, iowa and Nebraska.
It's a real tight little area,a small little point in South
(13:17):
Dakota and I wasn't sure what toexpect.
Beautiful, the golf course wasbeautiful, it was in fantastic
condition.
The everything on it was great.
It was, you know really fastbent greens um, but it did.
It didn't feel like a countryclub you know, and and cliff
(13:37):
yeah, cliff has a.
Uh, you know he's veryhypercritical about certain
things, but that's just the wayhe is, he, he, he notices things
that I don't notice.
Like he's very hypercriticalabout certain things, but that's
just the way he is, he, he, henotices things that I don't
notice like he's.
You know, we weren't greetedwhen we got there.
We had to find our.
We had to hop in our own cartsand load our own carts.
Um, it was, you know, the.
There was no direction fromwhere to go.
(13:58):
Uh, the, the.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
I mean, the people
were nice, yeah the signs sucked
that you guys need fuckingsigns.
Okay, have signs on yourfucking golf course.
I'll just say that Look, havesigns on your golf, fucking
course.
If it's twisting and winding, you got to have fucking signs.
Cc or not.
(14:20):
Have fucking signs, all right.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Easy as that.
Let's see.
What Austin said is that lossof smell is covid symptoms.
Better get checked.
Uh might be have to be a newhidden greens shirt.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
This is have fucking
signs on your golf course.
If it's yeah, if it's a windingroad, have fucking signs yeah,
that that was.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
We ran into that at.
Uh, was it the rim or chaparralpine?
I think chaparral pines had anissue.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
No, it was.
It was chaparral yeah but uh,dakota dunes was sick and we
don't get bent grass greens veryoften and every green, all the
greens.
We played the entire trip wasincredible and it was an
absolute treat.
It was very thick, um.
But uh, I think, I think weplayed dakota dunes and we were
(15:09):
like so hyped on just being on agolf trip and then we got in
the car and cliff was like guys,it wasn't that good.
I mean, it was great.
Right, it's, it's a, it's acountry club.
You know, south dakota borderwith nebraska, iowa.
It was great.
It really was a sick ass golfcourse, but he's like just hold
(15:32):
your horses a little bit, yeah,so shout out, cliff.
He, he like reeled me back alittle bit.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
He does reel it back
in.
He does reel it back in, he uh,you know the the pro shop
wasn't great, it was okay, itwasn't great.
Uh, where the restaurant waswas kind of weird to get to it.
Uh, we found the snack barwhich, yeah, have a fucking sign
, have a fucking sign, signsguys easy.
(15:58):
The, the range was, was good, had a nice big chipping green.
Um, it was muggy as hell.
Um, we found out that the, thebugs hit a little bit different
in in the midwest.
I, I, I was fine, I, I didn'tget, I don't know what it is.
There's, you know, something inmy blood?
It's the hard water I've beendrinking.
(16:19):
Well, no, because joe's beenout here as well that long same
we're the same, yeah, the same, yeah, but the bugs didn't bother
me as much as everybody else.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
They ate me, fucking
live.
They ate me alive.
I think I'm finally healed.
Finally there's still one rightthere.
They ate me alive and shout outShannon.
He's like the only thing thatwill keep those fuckers away is
the DEET, and we bought DEET insome random small town and they
(16:47):
still ate my ass up.
So it's gotta be my pheromonesor my blood, but it was a great
golf course.
We got to try and hit golfballs across the Missouri river,
which I learned about in likeseventh grade in geography class
, and never saw that coming andnobody made it close.
It's very deep.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
I think the yard, I
think the yard is off because I
hammered mine and it was like150 yards short oh, yeah, you
you smoked it.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
I mean, I thought I
thought you were hitting trees I
I thought that was for surehitting trees and it came up
like woefully short.
It sounded like there's zerochance I make it, yeah, but
Cliff pounded his too and itcame up short.
So I mean that was fun, we hada good time, it was a good
course.
Dan, riddle us with yourquestions.
(17:39):
I know you're dying to askabout Dakota Duke.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Well, I kind of have
questions.
I want to hear more about allthe courses.
Okay, yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
So yeah, we go
through so dakota dunes, we did
dakota dunes.
We stayed in downtown, uh,sioux city, at a great hotel,
the warrior, fantastic rooftoprooftop bar, and, uh, we had
some old fashions up there, which was fantastic.
Then we went to the diving deer, had some great food.
Uh, yeah, matt party pooper didnot drink anything, which is
(18:13):
fine.
He's doing his thing and werespect it and love it.
Uh, then the next morning wewent to floyd park, which was a
par three executive course, which was probably it was.
It was more than par three yeah,it was, but it was executive.
Right, we call executive, itwas executive, but it was green
as fuck it was holy moly no, andgreens oh, that greens one of
(18:40):
the one of the coolest oldschool clubhouse.
Like muni spot clubhouse chairs.
Old school super sick one dudeit was cool, it's fun it was
really cool.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
The, uh, let me pull
up.
I'll pull up a picture that uh,we had on the, if I can, but
man, it was, it was, it was sick.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
It reminded me like
just some like classic, like
lodge green, golf course, shit.
And it was dope.
And we played, uh uh, a gamecalled pinehurst which shut out
snga.
I saw on one of their emails weplayed that game there.
That was a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Um, yeah, that was
the the kind of like a scramble,
shamble type thing and uh, yeah, it was.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Uh, yeah, it was it
was fun it was.
It was very slow going and wehad to get to the land man, so
we skipped like 10 10, 11, 12and 13 13 so and then, but 10
and 14 were t's were right nextto each other, so we're like
let's just go to 14.
And then we stopped at one ofthe dopest gas stations I've
(19:49):
ever seen in my entire life.
What was it called, I forget.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
First off, as we're
leaving the parking lot, Cliff
cut in front of somebody.
Oh yeah, and we almost got in awreck and they followed us to
the gas station and then theywaited in the parking lot and I
was like what?
Speaker 4 (20:09):
is what is this
person?
Speaker 1 (20:10):
doing, you know,
because it was, it was, it was a
little weird.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
There were some dicey
roads right there.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Yeah, cliff just kept
going and yeah, but that
groceries that it was a grocerystore in the size of a
convenience store.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
It it was sick they
had it was like shop quick or
like quick and go, or they hadeast sandals, they had jerky,
they had pizzas, they hadproduce fucking meat like pounds
of ground beef.
That place was dope yeah, thatwas that.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Iowa brought it right
there.
They will have to figure outwhat that place was called.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
They had dead
billionaire cans.
They had, I mean, everythingDan would want, just like pounds
of ground beef ready to cook, dead billionaire cans.
And then Dan said they had eggs.
Dan would have loved that place.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Let's see it was
called Quick Star Quick.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Shop, quick Shop,
quick Shop.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Oh, we saw a bunch of
coming goes, but yeah, I'm
gonna go.
No, it's not quick start I'mlooking at the map right now.
It's quick start.
It's on the corner of glenn andlewis boulevard.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Well, shannon, I
guess shannon the native is
wrong.
He said quick shop yeah quickstar.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
That's not, that's
right.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
It reminded me of wow
, okay, yeah, dude, that place
was sick I, I dude I with thatplace that place was dope, it
was dope, yeah, yeah, I muchprops to that uh, is that where
we bought hundreds of dollarsWorth of lottery tickets?
Speaker 2 (21:45):
And we all lost.
It was that one billion.
What are you supposed to do?
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Well, somebody won in
Texas.
So from there, after we gotdone playing, we scurried over
to Landman and yeah, this isJoe's new favorite place on the
planet.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Um, he said, fuck,
abandon no, I'm, I'm a band in
there, but it's close, they gotit.
They need a little more, butyeah yeah, it's.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Uh, you know.
We said uh, you know, bandonhas a 20-year head start and
it's coastal.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
We were driving on
dirt roads through cornfields
and soy fields and there's agolf course out there somewhere
and there's a little sign, it'slike a 4x8 sign and it's like an
arrow up.
This way it was just all dirtroads and I mean we probably
(22:49):
traveled what?
Speaker 1 (22:49):
five, five miles on
just gravel roads, through soy
fields and cornfields and uhyeah it did not disappoint yeah,
it, uh, it was, it was uh quitean experience and and ditch
weed.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
yeah, that's the
Tonka brand man.
Yeah, the Tonka.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
The wild weed growing
on the course that was so funny
, that was crazy.
We'll get to that in a second.
But Landman is unique and wefound out kind of in a different
way.
They don't give a shit Becausewe got done playing and there
was plenty of daylight and we'relike and cliff wouldn't ask hey
(23:30):
, how much is it for a replay?
Can we go back out?
And they're like nope noreplace.
There's nobody going off rightnow.
The course is wide open.
We can finish 18 in like twoand a half hours.
Nope, sorry, you got your teatimes.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
That's all you get,
and uh, but for everyone that's
everyone that's listening, soyou need to understand like land
man dropped their tea times andthey sold out of their entire
2025 tea times in one hour, sotea times were bought up, I mean
(24:05):
.
And also we need to understandthat we don't know if there was
people out there playing or ifthere was people like playing
nine.
I mean, we don't know right, sowe have to.
I would have loved to replay, but we don't know what's
happening behind the scenes.
Probably not.
Probably they probably couldhave let us out for cabals, but
it's I mean, it's in high demandand they sold out in one hour
(24:30):
for an entire year of their teetimes.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Yeah, it's crazy.
There's a documentary I sharedit on my Instagram stories a
while ago or before we leftGreat documentary about how it
came to be.
And you know they didn't go bigright out the gates.
The golf course is big.
They didn't the gates.
The golf course is big, theydidn't massive, but everything
else is very quaint the therooms we stayed in, just shout
(24:58):
out, shannon shout out, 13 bruinbuilding those cabins, yeah
well the cabins were awesome theonly thing that we've said that
it missed was a TV in the mainarea Shut up.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Missed payment failed
, we survived we survived.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Yeah, that was.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
We'll get there
though.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
We'll get there.
So the they have the clubhouseis small, the cabins are small.
The food truck they have a foodtruck and a little patio area.
The range you can Small.
Small, like eight people max.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
But their clubhouse,
let me say, their clubhouse is
the sickest pro shop I've everbeen in.
I could only they didn't have asingle golf club, it was all
Landman, merch.
Everything I can think of wasmerch.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
And swag butter
covers.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
But the view behind
the counter was unbelievable so
good being able to stand thereclubhouse I've been in.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
That was yeah I, I
could see that, that's, that's
yeah that's a bold statementcotton.
It's the most unique, dopestmost unique.
Yeah, it fits perfect with whatit was.
What's so crazy, though and Ijust thought about this right
now is, like the food trucksmall, the rooms are small, the
(26:15):
pro shop is small, every therange is small, but the course
is fucking huge yeah like thatmight be some intent right there
, which is I.
I literally just thought about.
It's kind of blowing my mind atthis moment.
So you can talk, matt, becauseI didn't even think of that.
Shout out, jeremy.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Yeah, and with the
giant huge American flag, yeah,
so it's a.
It it's a different experience.
You get to pick a.
You get to pick a song for yourwalk-up song.
When you tee off, uh, thestarter plays dj and uh, they
were cool.
Uh, that was fun.
We did the the harmonic introday two.
(26:56):
And what a tribe called questsong on on day one.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
Um, we wanted routing
, but what's that?
We wanted, uh, something else, but I can't remember what was
the song I.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
I mean there was, it
was that's a.
That was a very pressing issue.
It was very hard to come upwith the song.
I mean obviously chase thedaylight podcast song shut out
unwritten.
Yeah, that was for sure, butyou know, dan wasn't there so it
didn't make total sense.
But it's hard to it's hard toreally choose a song yeah, it's
like I mean especially for fourpeople yeah, you feel like I
(27:32):
mean like I feel for, like thebaseball players like, or ufc
fighters, or mike tyson, likehow do you choose your song?
But they're one person, butwe're four people with uh
diverse backgrounds and andtaste, and uh, yeah, it was, but
the only thing that saved itwas like it's a speaker, you
know it's not playing around theentire place, like no, it's
(27:55):
just pointed at the t-box I knowI think if they put the speaker
all over like that pro shop andthey're like like that can get
way more.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Like I really gotta
pick a good song yeah, because,
like a lot of people are payingattention right now to what
we're going off to.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Yeah, exactly but uh,
it's, it's a cool little tidbit
that, like you, don't getanywhere else.
And and that's the thing aboutlandman all the details, all the
details yep, there's a the.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
The routing is fun.
It takes you over some hills, through some hills, over some
hills.
The bunkering is incredible.
The greens half the, I'd saythree quarters of the greens
were punched.
Um, we weren't aware of that, but it wasn't awful.
Uh, the ones that weren'tpunched were so good that, you
know it kind of made you realizehow good it could be.
(28:48):
But you know, courses have topunch, so it happens.
Um, it wasn't an aggressivepunch, but you know the I don't
think it affected our putting toa point where we're like fuck
this, you know there's only likethree holes really, where it
was like pretty deep punchesyeah yeah, it's like they did it
in in stages because the backend of the course didn't have
any or it hadn't been done yetand so it.
(29:11):
But you know you get that um joefound out quick okay, go ahead.
I was gonna say joe found outpretty quick about the landman
bounce.
Um, the ground is firm outthere and that ball bounces in
ways that you have no idea it'sgoing to bounce.
It's unbelievable.
The land man bounce.
Um, the fairways are wide andvery forgiving, but if you don't
(29:34):
have the right line, don't everplan on finding your golf ball.
Yeah, although jeremy didpretty good, you, you found
jeremy was.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
Jeremy was out there,
though he was getting ate alive
by ticks.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
I was.
I was, I'd probably have a tick.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Yeah, there was one
point where Bob messaged me or
text me or something like I knowBob would absolutely love that
place.
Bob West, as creative as he is,that place gives you so much
creativity.
You can bounce it on this hill, you can ride the ball here, but
(30:15):
like it, just it.
It just breeds creativity.
Like the, the.
The backstop on 10 is a full-onit's a 60 degree backstop yeah,
60 degree, 40 foot wall backstopand, and the right side it's
like a massive ass fuckingcereal bowl, but the front is
(30:38):
like open.
It's.
That place is breeds creativityand I love, I love it and
that's.
It was really fucking cool.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Yeah, it was cool, it
was a good time.
It wasn't my favorite coursethat we played, but it is
fantastic and I'm absolutelythrilled I got the chance to
play it.
It is one of the hardest publicgolf course tee times to get in
America.
That's one of the things thatyou'll see it touted the hardest
tee time to get in america.
Yeah, um, that's one of thethings that you see it touted
(31:09):
the hardest tea time to get.
Uh, because of the way they dotheir tea times.
They release them.
I think it's twice, once innovember, once in january, and
they're gone as soon as theyrelease them.
So, uh, make sure you're on theemail list if you want to play
and if you get picked, book itand go.
Yep, that's all I can say.
Book it and go.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
I definitely want to
get back.
And they are bringing morestuff to the course.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
Yeah, that's what I
was going to talk about next.
They have a putting course.
Coming the rooms.
I don't know if you saw Joe'svideo, but where the rooms are
there's a back deck and theyhave some farm equipment out and
they have a hitting mat and ashag bag and you can hit balls
into the into the equipment.
But that's uh told that it'sgoing to be a putting course and
(31:57):
it'll be lighted and that, Ithink, will be incredible yeah,
they need.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
They need one more
thing, whether it be I mean a
putting course or a short courseon one more course, or whatever
it is.
But, um, you know there's fourcabins and cabin one is f
seconds, a, r, m, it's calledthe uss farm, which we'll get
into later probably but um, theyall have mats on their back
(32:25):
deck and you can hit intosomething and there's like a
road.
But, um, when we were stayingthere one night, uh, the dudes
next to us, we were in cabin rand the next dudes were in cabin
m.
They knocked on our door.
I mean, I haven't shot aslingshot in what is it?
Probably 28 years, somethinglike that and they're like, hey,
(32:47):
they knocked on our door andthey're like, hey, we just went
to walmart, which was probably30 minutes away 30, 45 minutes
away.
We bought some, uh, light upbracelets.
We dumped the thing and we'redipping the balls.
We bought like 50, 100 balls,whatever.
Shout out those guys.
I don't remember their names, but we told them about the
(33:08):
podcast.
If you're listening, shout outto you guys thanks guys and they
had a big old thing and he'slike, he's like with a, with a
slingshot, he's like try and hitthis beer.
And it's like I felt like a kidagain for a little while, which
was cool, man like, but theywouldn't put some of the the
glow, glow necklaces and put iton the equipment yeah, they cut
them and put them in a plate andthey're like dipping it in the
(33:30):
shit.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
You know and so we
had a target and we were hitting
shots.
It was funny because you hitthe equipment.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
It's like yeah, yeah,
there was like a.
There was like a like a barreland like a tractor.
Out there it was.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
It was cool man I
think once, if that they turn
that either into like a littleshort course or the putting
course, perfect area for it.
It's down in a little valley,it's away from the golf course,
so it's another environment thatthey could bring in, I think.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Yeah, they need one
more thing.
Just kill it.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
It would just
absolutely kill it.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
All they need is one
more thing for you to do,
because you're literally in themiddle of nowhere.
I mean, you're close to Homer.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
The food truck is
nice, though, because they serve
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
They don't close till
8 either, which is solid.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
And the food was
solid.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
The food was really
really good.
All right, so from Landman, wewake up the next morning, we
play the day two, hop in in thevan and we're out, and yeah, so
we played land man twice, andthen we bounced yeah, um.
So next up was tatanka, whichis west of land man, north,
(34:45):
north a little bit and west realclose to the south dakota
border.
Uh, so close in fact, we hoppedthe state line on the way there
Just to go into a small littletown To get a Runza, our first
experience.
With Runzas and tell ya.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
I want a.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
Runza.
I want a Runza, I'm searchingfor Yankton South Dakota.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
Yankton, South Dakota
.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Yankton, that's what
it was, Thank you boys out here
in the Midwest, let's go Shoutout to the Thank you Boys.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
So yeah, Middle of
nowhere is right.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Do you remember that
town, though?
I mean, it was crazy, we wentthrough the drive-thru, so we
didn't walk in.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Yeah, there was a
town called gazeville and we so
bad wanted to stop at thiswelcome to gazeville sign and
take a fun picture for you, butwe we kind of detoured around it
, uh, and there was a anothertown called heinenas, hyenas.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Just some fun banter
bullshit.
But yeah, so we stopped and gotthe Runza, one of the best
onion rings I've ever had in mylife from that place
Unbelievable onion rings.
The Runza's were a hit.
It's a fantastic snack.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Why nobody else does
a Runza is beyond me.
I that's.
That's what blew my mind islike we asked so many people
like okay, we heard we have toeat a runza.
And we're talking to peoplelike where?
Speaker 1 (36:19):
do you get a runza?
Speaker 2 (36:20):
they're like only at
runza.
You can't get it anywhere else.
Like there is a market outthere for people to make runzas,
like I was coming from Vegas.
Like tacos are great, right, but there's people on the sides
of the street making tacos.
Like why is there not a Mexicanlady or Indian lady on the side
of the street slaying runzas?
(36:41):
There is a missed market, guys.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
The runzas at the
turn in Nebraska would be
amazing.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
That would be the
burger dog of the Midwest.
Exactly it's easy, it's easy.
The.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
Turn Runza.
Joe sent us a video last night,a YouTube video about a guy
that makes a Runza.
So I'm doing that because it'sreally good, it's really good.
I'm shocked I had never heardof it.
Shocked it doesn't get morepress.
People probably there are like,eh, it's just another thing,
but people like us that neverhave had it it's pretty fucking
(37:15):
good.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Dude, any golf course
in Nebraska that does a
turnrunza, people are coming.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
Easy, easy situation
for you to escalate.
I just did.
Yankton is Lady Payment'shometown.
Her sister-in-law is that exactRunza's GM.
I love it.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Great experience,
shout out, miss Payment Fields.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Barely under a
thousand Wow.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
Can we get some
frozen Runzas overnighted?
Speaker 1 (37:44):
Yeah right.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
Yeah, I'm looking at
you guys.
No idea about them.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
It's a great sandwich
.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
It's so great in fact
runs against, overtake hot
pockets.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
They just need to
package it yeah, when we left,
uh, the prairie club, we weregoing to denver, we stopped for
gas and found another one andstopped again because I bought I
bought two that time oh, you'refunny, all right.
So, uh, we get to tatanka andand way back earlier in the chat
(38:15):
, shannon asked, uh, if we hadany issues with the guy there,
because, I heard yeah, uh, howwas your interaction with troy?
I didn't see if that was hisname but dude was solid he was
great he
Speaker 2 (38:30):
put some grips on for
joe, two putter grips for me.
I said I saw grips loose and Iwas like, hey, could you re-grip
two of my putters?
And he was like, yeah, I mean Itipped him 20 bucks, but he
didn't.
I mean he didn't know I wasgonna tip him 20 bucks, which I
did venmo, you right, jeremy, because jeremy had the cash.
I think so.
Yeah, I don't know.
Yeah, I think so, but anyway,he, no question, no question, he
(38:54):
did it.
And uh, we were talking aboutvegas a bit, but no, no issues.
And I was kind of, I was kindof scared about that too.
I was like dude, this guy'sgonna be a dick yeah, because
that's we.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
We were warned by
more than one person and uh, but
no, he, no, he was solid.
Uh, there was a group havingtheir fantasy draft and the
clubhouse, um, small little shop, had a ton of stuff, um, and uh
, yeah, so we, uh what?
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Shannon says let me
throw it up there he just
couldn't have been Troy.
He would have told you to kickrocks.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Maybe it wasn't him.
I don't remember his name, butI don't remember his name.
He was there, was it was cool, yeah, but that that's plants, uh
, that was weird.
Uh, you know that, was it?
Vegas smells like weed.
So I'm not, you know, not, uh,you know, against the weed smell
(40:02):
or whatever.
But jeremy, we're looking forone of jeremy's ball and I'm
like I'm like I'm like holy shit.
I'm like this is weed.
Speaker 4 (40:12):
I go, this is
marijuana so he texted the
expert yep and he's like that'sDanish weed, dutch weed yeah but
man, there was, it was all overthe place.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Life on the indian,
life on the res, so, uh.
But we got to 16 and the skiesopened up.
Um, it's worse than cheap vodka.
The skies opened up on us anddumped for one hole.
Jeremy had a hell of a roundgoing and then it was over.
(40:55):
And I mean it's crazy becausethe course didn't even feel like
it got wet.
It dried out so fast.
But we had a good time there.
It was a great stop along theway.
Uh, the guy in the pro shopsaid it's the, the cheap landman
and prairie club.
(41:16):
Don't know if I'd go that far.
Uh, it's certainly not landman,it's certainly not prairie club
, it is a cheap golf, cheapergolf course.
Um, that is in good shape.
I mean, it was in good shape.
I don't think it was in badshape, um, but it didn't have.
Speaker 3 (41:34):
No, I mean, there was
a cemetery on it, which was
weird.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
Um, I didn't get to
see any buffalo.
Speaker 4 (41:40):
That was upsetting,
yeah, but the views though the
rolling hills was.
That was cool oh, my goodness.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Yeah, one thing, I
one thing.
I found out that I, you know,we have mountains that surround
the valley.
It's a valley, so we havemountains.
The sunsets in the midwest lastforever.
Yeah, true, it took forever forthe sun to go down or for the
sky to get dark, because I waslike, oh shit, sun's going down,
we're gonna be in pitch blackin the middle of fucking nowhere
forever.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
And it, uh it, it
wasn't that bad yeah, brand man
who's in the chat, uh, messagedme afterwards and I was telling
him about the ditch weed and hehad pictures of the buffalo.
I was like we didn't see anybuffalo I had a cow.
That was it yeah, but no, it wassick.
I mean, that was my best round, right?
(42:31):
Yeah, I don't know what wasgoing on.
We drove two and like two hoursand then, after we played there
, we had to drive like two and ahalf hours into the middle of
nowhere, which is crazy, and itwas I was gonna say the bugs,
the bugs hitting the windshieldyeah, it was pretty crazy.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
It sounded like it
was raining.
There was, they hit.
It was so crazy it was prettywild there we stopped off in
that little town that only hadvending machines that was, so
that was so weird.
But then they had that.
That coffee, that canned coldcoffee was absolutely.
It was a no sugar espressolatte.
(43:11):
It was unbelievably good, butthey make it there so I think.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
I mean it's like
what's so crazy to me is like
the, which I I love, right, likeme, matt and dan we've
experienced and bob with bob onthe adventure of just traveling
I mean we can get into thislater, but jeremy is new to the
adventure of golf trip, whichwas so cool, like we were in
(43:39):
civilization, right, we were atthe run zone, we, we walked into
the grocery store and, uh, welooked out of place and then we
drove up two and a half fuckinghours from that spot not seeing
a Walmart, no Targets, noMcDonald's, and then you see
vending machines, right, andthen some of the best coffee
(44:01):
you'll ever have, right, likeyou love the coffee.
And then from that spot it waslike 30 minutes and then dirt
roads for 40 minutes and thendirt roads for 40 minutes, and
then we made it to Valentine, like we're in the depths of the
beast of a golf trip, yeah, andthen we make it to Valentine and
then we see the homie, mrPayment.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
Failed.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
Yep, who went to the
Mexican restaurant 40 minutes
away from his house and hung outfor like 40 minutes just to say
hi, shout out, austin, shoutout Miss Pavement Failed.
Awesome of you.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
I had to go to the
bathroom.
So bad, matt was a dick, mattwas a dick.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
I'm either going to
stay here, stay here, hang out
and piss my pants, or I'm gonnago to the bathroom but that's
what's so cool about golf, bro,and and also whatnot, in a way,
like it's just like we bringpeople together, golf brings
people together.
And we got to see austin.
His wife hung out for a littlewhile and we almost hit a deer
on the way and like we're ondirt roads and like we're in the
(45:12):
belly of the beast of middleamerica.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
There's a cop sitting
on the outskirts of town
speeding and we thought we'regonna get pulled over and thrown
in valentine jail and I'm hungand I'm hungry and the mic I got
him fucking.
Speaker 2 (45:24):
they don't have
grilled chicken at mcdonald's so
I gotta get a fucking friedchicken sandwich and it's trash.
We're so used to our comfortsin the big city.
It's an eye-opener in a way,but it's always a pleasure to
meet people that love what welove.
Speaker 1 (45:48):
Then we stayed in the
worst spot.
We stayed in um, probably the, probably the worst hotel I've
ever stayed in oh, I'm, I've gota couple worse than that, oh
also also also.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Also, uh, mr payment
field says make sure you lock
your doors because you're soclose to the reservation.
I'm like is that thereservation?
Like we're coming into thereservation of our time, like to
to check in for our reservation, or it's like is there a
reservation out here andwherever?
Speaker 1 (46:19):
you can't take raises
meth yeah yeah, he has a filter
.
He doesn't understand them Ithought that.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
I thought the first
one.
I was like we're so close toour reservation, we need to be
careful.
But it was you're close to thereservation, but the indians the
reservation golf courses do it.
Right, you didn't shut out allthose golf courses, yeah so but
I took it the other way for asecond.
I had to think about that one.
Speaker 1 (46:50):
Yeah, it's wild
country, wild country.
So yeah, we stayed in the room, got up the next morning early
because we had early tea time atthe Prairie Club on the Pines
course, took the 25, 30-minutedrive, uh, turned off the road,
(47:13):
travel on a dirt road to theprairie club beautiful facility,
um, it's the I want to say the100 opposite of landman, um, big
grand entry, valet drivers, uh,you know, hey, we got your
clubs, hey, we got your bags, hey, just, you know, going here,
everybody's, thank you, thankyou, thank you.
(47:34):
Coffee bars and nice seatingand patios and I mean it's, it's
very bandon-esque as far asamenities and appearance goes,
like the clubhouse.
I'm talking the, not the course, joe, just, uh, just, the
atmosphere around there was wasreally nice and, uh, it was
(47:55):
foggy and it was dewy.
Look at joe, he's just insultedthat I related prairie club and
abandoned.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
It was cool, the
courses were better than the
economy.
I mean the courses were sick, but the service I mean I'm gonna
get on my cliff real quick likethe the service was not great I
think the lady.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
Uh, the night we had
dinner.
She was good.
Speaker 2 (48:25):
She made some
mistakes, but no, it felt like I
felt like we were in a pts whenwe were eating dinner.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
There's like no
seriously right, well, we were
sitting in the bar, we weren'tsitting in the restaurant where
was the restaurant?
Speaker 2 (48:37):
was anybody sitting
in the restaurant?
Speaker 1 (48:39):
nobody was in there.
It was in there the big diningroom.
There was people in there no,there was nobody in there there
was definitely people in there, but no, nobody there is nobody
felt like a pts while we were atthe bar, so I could I could see
(48:59):
how it felt like a pts we.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
I do have a couple
issues with that place, but the
golf courses were sick okay oh,what's your issues?
I want to hear the issues uh,the sign for the breakfast
buffet was garbage.
All the plates were covering 15.
It's at breakfast buffet.
And then the plates were allcovering, uh, if you stay with
(49:23):
us or your guests from lastnight or if not, it's a 15.
So all that was covered.
Just, I mean I, I'm I'm notcliff right, cliff is cliff has
experienced a lot of like greatstuff and but I've worked in
really high-end places and it'sit didn't like deliver on that
(49:47):
high end.
The golf was great.
I didn't love.
Pines Pines was cool, I mean Iget it, but dunes was fantastic.
The short course was the bestcourse out there.
Shave your, shave the greens.
There you go.
Shave the greens on yourputting course.
Don't leave the putting courseto rot.
(50:08):
Wave the greens on your puttingcourse.
Don't leave the putting courseto rot.
Make a walkway from the lodgethat's right next to it.
You walked through tall grass.
I was getting eaten alive bybugs.
I had to walk all the wayaround.
I walked 10 feet.
The staff was fantastic.
No, you walked 10 feet throughhigh grass and I was already
eaten by 40 bugs.
(50:29):
I already had 40 bug bites onme.
I was like, no, I'm going totake the long way around.
Great golf, bent greens, fantastic, great turn shacks,
great accommodations.
I just it.
Just.
I love the golf.
Right, I loved the golf, butjust the experience outside of
(50:52):
the golf didn't really make mewant to come back.
I loved the golf courses.
I would go back for the golfcourses, but the experience
outside of the golf courses I'mnot like, yeah, I want to go to
Valentine's sleep in a Super 8again and eat a fucking rock
hard chicken sandwich again, just to come back here.
I played it cool, and then it'sjust like the pro shop wasn't
(51:20):
great.
I didn't find anything in thatpro shop after two days.
There's nothing I wanted to buythey didn't have the stuff you
like well then, okay, and theydidn't have it.
They don't have it on thewebsite, which the website
doesn't work.
Took me two days to get on thewebsite hey, the place is not
(51:42):
without flaws.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
Yeah, so I will 100
say that.
But but the Pines course for me.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
Shannon, I got ate
alive, bro.
I am finally recovering.
Speaker 1 (51:54):
The Pines course, for
me, was the star of the show.
I thought it had by far themost character of all the
courses that we played.
It had a little bit of dunes.
It had a little bit of forest, the bunkering was incredible.
The tee shot shapings wasabsolutely fantastic.
Uh, the greens weren't gimmicky, they, they were true greens.
(52:14):
They rolled well.
Uh, the bunkering wasspectacular.
The turnhouse was fantastic.
Got to go by it twice.
Um, the 18th hole, I thought,was a stunner of a finisher.
The first hole is a greatopening hole.
I thought the par threes werefantastic.
Um, it just.
For me, it was a much moreenjoyable golf course.
(52:37):
Uh, the dunes course, I thought, was.
I mean, it was nice, don't getme wrong, it was.
It was a beautiful golf course.
Way, way, way too many blindshots, fairways that are 400
yards wide, you have no ideawhere your ball is going it's.
I didn't enjoy that whatsoever.
(52:59):
I mean the amount of blindshots into holes where you have
to wait because you don't knowif the people in front of you
are there or not.
You got to wait to see themdrive off.
I mean we waited so much onblind shots.
I just thought it was kind ofstupid.
Um, I didn't miss.
I missed one fairway.
That's because I I took thewrong club off the tee and hit
into a bunker.
(53:19):
It's not a hard course.
Um, there wasn't a whole lot ofchallenges, I thought, other
than the blind shots where Ithought the pines course was
much more golf centric, withwith great layout, great design,
great bunkering, the way thatthe, the, the, you hit shots
(53:41):
through the trees, you hit shotsfrom, you drive through the
bunkers, you drive.
I mean it was just, it had somuch character and I didn't see
any of that on the dunes course.
Okay, jeremy go jeremy loved thedunes and so did cliff.
Speaker 4 (53:58):
I'm definitely I
liked I liked dunes, but after,
like, getting home and thinkingabout it, I think I would rate
them the same I did.
I did feel like pines is isbandon-esque.
I felt like it kind of startedout og and then went into trails
and then came back out, kind ofkind of how trails does.
(54:18):
But, um, I think I preferredpines course more, but the like
the, I think dunes is really.
It's similar in a way tolandman, in my opinion, where
it's very vast and it's reallyspread out and huge, huge
(54:40):
fairways, debunkering it's alltarget.
I mean, I was finding thebunkers were very well placed.
There is a lot of blind shots, though, which I don't mind.
That the only problem is whenyou don't know the groups ahead
of you and you hit into them twotimes, like, and so that's a
problem.
But I I feel like I wouldprobably say if we were going
(55:02):
back there, I would want to play50, 50, I would do two and two
or whatever.
I don't have really apreference on.
I thought the course wasawesome.
I didn't pay much attention tothe stay in the restaurant.
That's the stuff I don't careas much about yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
That's just a bonus,
if it's good.
Speaker 4 (55:22):
Yeah, I feel like
Pines had a little more
character to me than Dunes, butDunes was an amazing golf course
and I loved it.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
so so I'll say that
that we played pines twice,
right, we only played dunes onetime, correct?
Yeah, I get.
When I go back and think ofplaying pines, I get lost.
I don't.
And think of playing pines, Iget lost.
(55:53):
I don't.
That routing fucking course youplay.
Speaker 1 (55:55):
No, no, no, the
routing, the routing.
Go back.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
I'll have chat gbt,
listen to every episode and talk
about how many times joedoesn't like the routing because
he gets lost okay, well, we, we, we played it twice, okay, and
we were, we, we were in thedunes, then we cut back and then
we went into the pines and thenwe came out of the pines, then
we went back into the pines, then we like looped or something
(56:16):
and I can't remember any ofthose, and then we went this way
and then we, then we came homeand then we went back into the
pines, the dunes.
I can remember every holeplaying it one time.
Okay, well, that's because youwere salty.
I wasn't salty.
Yeah, you were tired.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
That was the best
round I played was on that
course.
I wasn't salty at all.
Speaker 2 (56:40):
You just can't hang
anymore.
That's the thing.
You just can't hang anymore.
We went all the way out and Iwas like, did I ride with you,
Jeremy?
Speaker 4 (56:51):
Dunes no, you were.
With Cliff no, you were withCliff.
Speaker 2 (56:56):
I was like Cliff, we
went all the way out and then
we're here, and then we're goingall the way back in.
Look over there.
I remember, I can rememberevery single hole Playing it one
time and I was tired, I wasbeat, I was itching from bug
bites, and I can remember everysingle shot.
(57:16):
I hit every single hole, everysingle approach shot maybe not
all the putts, but pines Istruggle with, we were
zigzagging and I was it.
Just like.
Was it was cool?
Right, it's not.
You guys say it reminds you ofBandon Trails, but it's not
fucking Bandon Trails, bandonTrails tells a story.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
No, it's not Bandon
Trails.
Speaker 2 (57:39):
Bandon-esque is what
you said.
It's not fucking Bandon-esque,it's not.
Guys In my opinion, sorry, sorry, dunes guys in my opinion,
sorry, sorry, sorry Dunes to me.
Alright, you got, dunes wasvery, very fucking sick and it
(58:02):
almost was better than Landmanin my opinion.
I love Trails, right, but butit was just wonky and you
thought it was Tom Lehman thewhole time.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
Well, I didn't know,
I didn't know, I thought it.
I thought Tom Lehman had doneit and but I, it's not like I.
I was excited to play a TomLehman course, cause I'm blown
away by his courses.
It would have been the first.
It was the first.
Uh, graham Marsh, I played, itwas.
It was the first tom layman Iplayed, so I, but I was, I
(58:39):
thought it was tom layman.
Speaker 2 (58:40):
I was giving him
major props because I know I
fucking loved it.
I will say I loved the pinescourse the first time, and then
we played it a second time and Iwas like I could just go to my
room, which is kind of weird forme, right.
Wow, yeah, like I I was.
I kind of just want to go to myroom and take a shower.
That's weird for me, though,right.
Speaker 1 (59:04):
Wow Right.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
No, no, no, that's
the great thing.
Everybody can like what theylike.
But like for me.
I was just like eh.
The second time, maybe, maybe asecond time around dunes.
I feel the same.
I think dunes was master classand almost overtakes landman but
(59:36):
yeah I mean that you know.
Everybody has their opinions,oh absolutely.
Speaker 1 (59:40):
That's what's what
that makes golf so amazing all
right dan you've been sittingthere forever.
We're forcing you to sit hereand listen to this.
Give us something.
Speaker 3 (59:50):
Talk to me um, I
don't really have any questions.
I just kind of want to know, like your guys's rankings?
Speaker 2 (59:59):
well, we know, joe's
we know, yeah, we know matt's
it's.
Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
It's dunes landman.
Do no dunes, dunes, dunes, landman no, let's.
Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
Let's give a shout
out to the homie cliff.
All right, you have 10 roundsokay, I I appreciate cliff's
thing that I just can't do.
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
That let's give a
shout out to the homie Cliff.
All right, you have 10 rounds.
Okay, I appreciate Cliff'sthing.
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
I just can't do that.
We're going to have to do itbecause, shout out, cliff.
Cliff's a legend, so we'regoing to do that.
You can say your favorite inranking, but you're going to
have to do it.
You're going to have to do the10 round thing because Cliff is
a legend.
So we played dakota dunes, floyd park, landman uh, tatanka,
(01:00:44):
prairie pines, prairie dunes, and then we flew out of denver.
We also also we drove likealmost a thousand miles in five
days and played eight rounds ofgolf and we stopped by rodeo
dunes
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
yeah, yeah, we went
to the gates of rodeo dunes all
right, joe, let's you go, let'sget, get your rankings it's
landman dunes pines to tonka, dakota dunes, floyd park.
That's the ranking and then wecan talk about that's joe's
(01:01:25):
ranking that's my rankings.
Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
We can talk about the
rounds we play after, but yeah,
that's my rankings jeremy, whatwould you do uh?
Speaker 4 (01:01:35):
landman Pines Dunes,
dakota Dunes, tatanka Floyd.
Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
Mine is Pines one
Probably, I don't know.
See, it's tough for me, I takeyour hat off.
Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
Bro take your hat off
.
Speaker 1 (01:02:01):
Why?
Because I'm not a fuckinglandman fanboy like you.
Uh, I, I enjoyed the shots atdakota dunes more than I enjoyed
the shots at landman.
I I thought playing golf therewas a lot more challenging and a
(01:02:24):
lot more golf for me, landman, weird bounces, weird kicks,
weird lies, funky greens.
It's amazing what they've donethere.
But uh, I, I God it's tough.
I, I probably land man two.
Uh, I would put dakota dunesthree, dunes at prairie four,
(01:02:49):
tatanka five and void park sixand then the, the short course,
probably 11.
Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
You're the best
course we played according to
joe dan what's your ranking nothat was according to pictures.
Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
I'm kidding, I'm
kidding I'm kidding, I just
having a hard time right now.
Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
But no I wasn't, I
wasn't I wasn't blown away with
landman, like joe was, um it'sit's.
It's impressive to me whatthey've done there to be fair to
be is my vibe.
Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
It is you can wear a
t-shirt.
There's a food truck, it's likecool merch in the pro shop,
it's like it's like a t-shirt.
Like there, the turn shack iscool, it's small but like there
was like neon in there.
So it's like it totally fits myvibe, 100%.
(01:03:55):
You'd be creative, you couldhit like little pitcher runners,
draw skis off hills and thingslike that and you see things.
So it's totally my vibe.
So I'll just start there.
It's like when, when we showedup, I was like I'm wearing a
t-shirt and and cliff was likecan you wear a t-shirt?
I was like yeah I would hope so.
(01:04:18):
And uh, cliff made me a littlenervous.
He's like are you sure you'regonna wear a t-shirt?
And I talked to the guy.
He's like I was like can I weara t-shirt?
He's like yeah, there's nofucking dress code, so that's my
shit.
Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
So like yeah it fit
so yeah, I like I said I I it's
impressive what they've donethere and I like the food truck
thing.
I like the little clubhousethat they had.
I thought where they had thelittle bungalows was great.
But the golf course didn't blowme away.
(01:04:51):
I mean it was an impressivefeat to see what they
accomplished putting out there.
It was an impressive feat tosee what they accomplished
putting out there.
But it didn't like.
It didn't like playing BannonTrails for the first time.
Like blew me away.
Um being on the south course atTorrey Pines, which I know a
lot of people don't think that'sa fantastic golf course, but
like being there and seeing thecourse, it just was like I was
(01:05:14):
awestruck um so you walked up tothe number 13.
You're like this is cool I Ithat's my favorite hole there.
It's, it's gorgeous.
It's gorgeous to look at.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
It's a beautiful golf
hole, beautiful design but it
didn't like Four, five, six Iwould have to look at it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
I don't remember it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
I think the back nine
is a lot better at Landman than
the front nine.
In my opinion, I think Landmanmight be my favorite course I've
ever played.
Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
I could be close to
that too.
Because, I love.
Speaker 4 (01:05:55):
The greens are my
favorite part about landman and
I love hitting it away from theflag and having to figure out
how to get it to the flag.
And that's landman.
Summed up, yes like you canpick a target anywhere on the
green and choose where you wantthat ball to roll down to or
whatever you know dude, youdon't have to hit it on the
green.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Yeah, you don't.
You could hit it in the fringeor the rough and it's like like
number 10.
Me and jeremy were trying tohit draws 60 yards right of the
flag, trying to run it down intothe pin.
It's just like.
I just love the creativity ofthat place, like bob bob would
(01:06:36):
love that place.
Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
I didn't get it.
Jeremy, you would love.
Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
You would love
strands courses then yeah, we
need to take care of this, yeahthere's a lot of that with
strands too.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
You can fire away
from pins and you get up there
and your ball is cozy next to it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
It's, it's fun I love
that I could spend all day on
the greens at landman justmessing around.
Speaker 2 (01:06:55):
Definitely.
Greens at landman just messingaround definitely.
I do love this comment byshannon aren't all back nines
better?
They are for my game, uh, ifyour back nine isn't better than
your front, but I think bothneed to be equal and in a way,
right.
But the back nine brings youback.
(01:07:15):
All right, let's get into, let's get into farm and then
we'll pull the winner.
Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
yeah, yeah, yeah In a
way, but the back.
Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Nine brings you back.
Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
All right, let's get
into farm.
Speaker 2 (01:07:21):
And then we'll pull
the winner.
Greatest putting game evercreated.
Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
Yeah.
So we, after our first round,we had a bunch of time kill
Before sun went down and we weretrying to get back out but they
wouldn't let us.
So we go over to the puttinggreen and we're just chilling A
little soul golf bare feet onthe putting green and went and
got a cigar and Cliff's like, oh, let's play a game.
(01:07:45):
And he started talking.
And then we just kind ofstarted brainstorming and came
up with this game called Farm, and we call it Farm because it
was created at Landman and wewere staying in the farm
bungalows or cabins, whateveryou want to call them.
So it's similar to horse in thefact that you earn letters for
(01:08:10):
failing, basically, and we didthis with four players because
that's what we had.
So I'm sure you could do itwith more.
But we're in the midst ofcreating a sheet of rules so
everybody can download it andplay it.
But we'll kind of walk youthrough it right now.
So basically we had Siri pick arandom order and the player one
(01:08:37):
picks a hole and everybodyputts to it.
If you're the closest, you win,you get to pick next, if you're
the furthest away, you earn aletter f, uh, and then it goes
on and on like that, and then aswe're playing it so if you get
to farm, you're out and as we'replaying it, uh, we're kind of
(01:08:58):
making up different rules.
So if you, if you hold the puttfrom long distance because in
these you know you're on a bigputting green, we're talking
like 30, 40 foot putts overhills, around corners and
everything you know this isn't asix footer, uh.
And so if you make the putt, then you get to uh assign a
(01:09:19):
letter to any other player, and,and that made it more fun, uh.
And then we came up with a, away to get back in the game,
because you know you're outthere with your friends, you
want everybody to play, youdon't want somebody just sitting
there watching uh.
So if you, if you get m, thenyou're dormy, uh, and if you
(01:09:40):
don't win the next round, thenyou're out to win the next round
.
Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
You have to, you have
to, but if you win the next
round you're, you're back in andyou have to win the next, still
dormy, yeah yeah, uh, it was somuch fun.
Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
I mean, we played
that for like two hours and we
were out there.
Yeah, it was so much fun and,uh, we, we could, I, I couldn't
believe how much fun it was.
It's probably the most fun I'vehad on a putting green in a
long time.
Yeah, because you, you got alittle bit of strategy.
Do you want to go first?
You want to go second?
You know?
Then you know, joe, I won thefirst round, joe won the second
(01:10:14):
round and you know, we had nopoints, and then Cliff coming
back in with the dormie.
I mean it was an absolute blast.
Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
So we call it farm,
it was awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:10:27):
I'm going to put
together a PDF that people can
download that you can print outand figure out how to play with
your friends.
But if you've got, you know, know some people and and you got
some time to kill and you wantto go on a putting green great
game, it, it's a lot of fun.
Uh, you, you find out a lotabout people, about their
putting skills and you know thechallenges where you can assign
(01:10:50):
letters and I mean it's.
It is an absolute blast.
So I highly recommend you guysget out and play some farm.
Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
Um it's the horse for
golf, like horse and basketball
.
Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
It's like you got to
make it well yeah it, we adapted
it to the putting green andwhen you and when you're dormy
and you got a putt and you youknow you have to win, so you
have to get it inside theclosest person to stay in the
game.
Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
It it makes pressure
putting and that's it was a lot
of fun and and even when we wereat prairie club playing it on
their putting course, uh, I waslike, guys, we gotta go eat
dinner, you know.
Yeah, we were like, okay, let'sgo play the short.
I know we had to go play theshort course.
I'm like we gotta knock out theshort course.
Let's go.
(01:11:36):
We got nobody wins.
Let's go, because we could havedone that all night.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
It's, it's fantastic
yeah, it's a fun game.
So, uh, if you're, if you'reinterested in that, you know,
just send us a message and andwhen I get that all typed up and
and because we have a noteswhere we were just just typing
stuff away trying to make surewe remembered everything.
It's an absolute blast of agame.
It's a great game.
Let's see we got anything else.
(01:12:02):
Vgn this weekend at CoyoteSprings.
Dan, you played Coyote Springsthis past weekend with Trey and
Julian.
How's the course?
What are we looking at?
Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
Tradition, Golf and
Animal Shire Matt.
Speaker 3 (01:12:16):
Tradition Golf yes'm
going to shut up Matt.
Tradition Golf yes, he is.
Course is in really good shape.
Still, the grass around thatbunker's edges and around some
of the greens is brutal.
It's like a foot long.
It's tough shit.
So make sure you hit the greens.
Speaker 1 (01:12:33):
Hit some greens.
Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
Got to hit some
greens, but no, it's in great
shape.
The greens are in good shape, probably running 10 and a half
11, so there's some quick puttsout there, but should be in good
shape.
Speaker 1 (01:12:46):
I cannot wait the way
it's only supposed to be 86 on
Saturday yeah best weather ofthe years on its way yeah,
october
Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
we got two days of
great shit.
I might use this.
I might bring this anotherwhatnot call out.
I might use it.
I might oh, you should use it,I might I like if you, if you
use yours, I'll bring mine oh, Ilike the feel of it.
I do like the feel of it Feelsgood.
I might bring it, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
Dan's going to buy a
Napa.
Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
Yep Dan already
bought the Napa, I hope.
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Dan, would you rock
that, or would you just shelf it
?
Speaker 3 (01:13:34):
Man, I don't know, I
don't know, I'd have to give us
some serious thought I kind ofwant to send this this custom
shop, bro, because this thing isgreat.
Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
I really like it.
Sound of phase are awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
The flow neck too
sick I did not get my red and
white landmine shirt.
I got this one.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Matt said Q&A time.
Question mark.
Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
Go.
Fire in the hole.
We're always down for those.
Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Look at this
tradition golf flag right here
Two hitting greens, bada bing, bada, boom Bada bing bada boom.
No, but I might bring that.
I might try and bring that forthe tournament this weekend,
which I've never played it everin my entire life.
But I might do it because I'mthat guy.
Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
That guy.
Oh, hang on, I got new soundnoises.
They uploaded a bunch of newsounds so I was able to bring
over some of these old sounds.
Joe has paid his side gamemoney.
Raise your hand if you haven't.
Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
Oh, am I first.
Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
Ah, yes, Dan, I
haven't gotten yours yet either,
unless you did earlier, I didit already.
Check your Venmo.
I'll check my Venmo.
Speaker 2 (01:15:00):
Hey, also if you guys
want to donate to my son's
school.
I'm kidding.
Speaker 3 (01:15:05):
I'm kidding.
Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
His laugh goes on
forever it's fundraiser season.
Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
Actually, Matt, you
know what?
Maybe I did it.
That's hilarious.
One partner for the Ryder Cup.
Speaker 1 (01:15:24):
We got to go.
Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
Okay, actually, matt,
you're right, I haven't yet.
Speaker 1 (01:15:30):
Okay, you each have
to pick one partner for the
Ryder Cup.
One Euro, one US Alternate shot.
Ooh, thanks, austin, I'll haveto remedy that.
Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
I'm going Bryson for
US.
Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
Ooh.
Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
Hmm, that's uh, let's
see.
Speaker 3 (01:15:57):
Where is it at?
Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
Oh, that's because of
this.
Speaker 3 (01:15:59):
I'm a damn good
putter.
Speaker 4 (01:16:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
