welcome in.
SPEAKER_01 (01:33):
Yes, welcome.
Uh we are just some averageamateur golfers in Vegas that
love the game, but we love goingon golf trips even more.
Uh, it's it's something that welook forward to every year.
The the planning, the booking, setting it up, where we're
going.
And you, with what you guys aredoing, have made that a lot
(01:54):
easier for us to get on somecourses that we might not have
been able to get on to.
Uh, we don't have the influencelike Mike does, where he just
calls up and says, Hey, I'mbeautiful golf courses, give me
an eight call now.
I want lunch and dinner ready.
SPEAKER_05 (02:11):
Yeah, uh we don't
have far there.
Beautiful golf courses onInstagram.
You should already know if youdon't.
Beautiful golf courses onInstagram.
Go now.
SPEAKER_02 (02:20):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (02:21):
Leave the show and
then go follow and then come
back.
Come back.
unknown (02:26):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (02:27):
Uh so Ryan, uh, you
are the the man behind the Ford
Hadley Foundation.
Why don't you tell everybodythat's listening what it is?
I'll give you a little centerstage here.
You can talk about it and telleverybody that's watching what's
going on and what the foundationis all about.
SPEAKER_00 (02:46):
Yeah, no, uh Matt, I
appreciate it.
And and everyone at uh ChasingDaylight, this is an honor to be
here.
And to your audience, thank you.
Um, yeah, so for Hadley startedum back in 2015-2016.
Um, Hadley was our daughter.
Um, Hadley was our first girl.
She was diagnosed with a uhbirth defect called congenital
(03:07):
diaphragmatic hernia at 20weeks, um, also known as CDH.
So in CDH, your diaphragm keepseverything up that's supposed to
be up, lungs, heart, uh,everything else is supposed to
be down your gut, supposed to bedown, and CDH babies, a hole
remains in your diaphragm, andit allows um organs that aren't
(03:27):
supposed to be in your chest asyou're developing a utero to be
up in your chest, and so itinhibits a lot of things, lung
lung development primarily.
Um, her case was uh a decentlypositive case of it, um, but she
also came at 26 weeks, so superpremi.
Um, and they kind of haveprepared us for you know, worst
(03:48):
case given the CDH diagnosis.
CDH itself has about a 60%survival rate, um, still even in
this day.
That with her with her prematurebirth was was a pretty morbid
and and and tough diagnosis.
And so they kind of prepared usto she'll arrive, you'll
probably see her for an hour orso, and then she'll probably
(04:09):
pass pretty quick.
Um, and so that was tough toswallow.
And uh to her credit, she stuckaround for six days.
So we had her for six days hereat the NICU in Atlanta, Georgia,
where we're you know based andthe foundation is based.
Um, and then she passed,unfortunately.
And at the time, there wasprobably one or two foundations
(04:30):
and charities that offered anykind of support for CDH
families, and and wasn't muchout there in terms of what to
expect.
There wasn't much in terms ofencouragement or community
really to share questions,thoughts, concerns.
And the one that was out therewas it was more you know, what
was us, more bund, and and notjust was it my wife and I's
(04:52):
speed.
And so after she passed, we'rewe're both very optimistic and
hopeful people.
It was something good has tocome from this.
You know, this can't just be theend of her story, it can't be
the end of her legacy.
And you know, we were at a loss, and and I was traveling for work
a good bit, and so it took sometime to be here with my wife and
(05:12):
and kind of go through, youknow, what was a very unexpected
loss.
We were we were very excited forour first girl.
Um, I was playing in a lot ofgolf tournaments for work, and
I'm a you know, like you guys, average Schmo golfer who likes
to get out and play as much aspossible, but um knew what I
liked in tournaments, knew whatI didn't like in tournaments.
(05:33):
Uh, had a good friend of minewho wanted to be in on something
we were doing and and and was amarketing whiz and said, Hey, I
think we got something specialhere.
And so you know, we started offas just a tournament to benefit
what was at the time the otherCDH or the one CDH charity that
was out there.
Um, and we we blew it out.
The first year we had just aninsane turnout.
(05:54):
We made more money than we eventhought possible.
And um we kind of sat back afterthat and and thought, you know,
I think we we have a we havesomething here.
Her story is resonating.
Um, my wife and I are you know amillion years thought this would
never be our story, and and andfrankly, still this day, I wish
Fort Hadley didn't exist.
I wish I never knew anythingabout CDH.
(06:15):
I never knew about you know FortHadley.
It's kind of like the silverlining of the world's shittiest
fraternity of people that havelost you know kids before you
know they're they're supposedto.
So took a minute and said, Ithink whatever the message is,
whatever the brand is, is ishitting hard with some folks.
And so we we spun off our own501c3 back in 2016 and and have
(06:38):
hit the ground running eversince.
So you know, we've done uh 10golf tournaments we do a golf
tournament every year here inAtlanta.
Um you know, we I reached out toMike Cold called on Instagram
like nine years ago, back whenhe had like 20,000 followers,
and now it's 10x of that.
And and just and just by dumbluck, he happened to be in his
residency of Mayo.
(06:58):
And I was like, I don't know ifyou know me, you don't know me,
but I don't know if you've everheard of CDH.
And he's like, Yeah, actually Iknow exactly what it is.
I'm doing my pediatric roundsright now at Mayo.
So talk to me.
And um, and then just one ofthose cosmic occurrences where
you you know you kind of findsomebody who has a shared
interest and a sharedprofessional knowledge of what
was going on, and so yeah, we'vebeen around 10 years.
(07:20):
Um, you know, we fund threedifferent kind of parallel
funds.
We we do a lot of pediatricresearch for they don't really
know what causes it still.
So we fund a lot of researchwith centers around the country
um to find out cause, geneticcause, preventative measures of
how do you make this better forkids that have it.
Um, we do an annual scholarshipfund for survivors every spring.
(07:41):
So we've put now 45 survivorsthrough their, you know, in some
capacity, their college degreesas they go pursue their dreams.
Um, of a lot of them want to benurses, they want to be NICU
folks because that's the peoplethat saved their lives back in
the day.
And then we do it's called ourAngels in the NICU fund, which
is kind of a rolling grant fundfor kids that are in NICUs
(08:03):
around the country.
And so even those CEH kids thatsurvive typically are in the
NICU for I'd say best case 30days.
Um, we've had kids we'vesupported them, but in NICUs and
hospitals for six to ninemonths.
It's a pretty nasty disease, even if you do survive, there's
a lot of complications, breathing or eating.
It's just it's a lot to dealwith as a as a as a survivor.
(08:26):
So we have a a fund thatsupports them through financial
grants.
And I think uh at you know tothis point we've now you know
done a thousand, I think we'reover a thousand families now in
48 states.
Um, and and cumulative over the10 years now we've raised about
2.1 million dollars to to fundthose three um those three
(08:46):
grants.
So yeah, um it's been a it'sbeen an insane ride.
Um, never in a million yearsthought it'd be at this point.
Um, generosity of folks likeyourself, you know, Mike has
been insane uh in terms of whathe's allowed us to do.
It's it's the auction is by farand away now our our highest
netter of of revenue and funds,um surpassing our golf term
(09:09):
every year now.
So yeah, it's been a it's been arocket ship for 10 years now.
And so um it's been really coolnow to see some of the research
catch up a little bit too.
So that stuff takes a long time.
So we're starting to see somedevelopments and the genetic
component of it.
Um, you know, some some coolcutting-edge research they do
with facilities around thecountry.
(09:29):
So um, yeah, it's it's it's it'sa wild, circ, it's just bizarre
way to get here, but it's it'sbeen an awesome silver lining
for us, and and and it's I thinkchanged a lot of a lot of lives.
Um, and her legacy is obviouslya huge part of that.
When is the when is the annualgolf tournament?
(09:50):
Annual golf tournament is everyit's the last week in September
every year here in Dunwoody.
So Dunwoody, just north ofAtlanta.
So yeah, we usually this wasyear 10.
Finally got Mike down for year10.
We've been talking about for awhile, but um yeah, about 100
and 112, 115 people, 116 peopleevery year, and it's it's that's
(10:10):
a good scene.
SPEAKER_05 (10:12):
That's awesome,
yeah.
Great cause.
Yeah, thanks.
I mean, and like you said, silver lining, like what you've
done is yeah, something good hascome out of it.
SPEAKER_01 (10:23):
Yeah, it's which is
incredible.
SPEAKER_00 (10:28):
We even had we have
a we have another spit of son
after Hadley passed, and youknow, CDH again is not supposed
to be genetic.
They said it because theyhaven't figured out if it is or
not.
So until they definitely findout it is, they have to say it's
not.
Um, our son Beckett, who wasborn in 2017, was born.
We checked him all, we checkedhim the entire time looking for
(10:51):
it again.
Like, hey guys, I know becareful, I know it's not
genetic, I don't care.
Look at the diaphragm.
He was born, he was fine.
Three weeks later on ChristmasEve, he goes into cardiac
distress and respiratorydistress.
Took him to the ER.
Sure enough, they're like, Hey,I don't know what we're looking
at CDH here, so we've actuallydone this twice.
(11:11):
So, and he's about the best casescenario for it, but you're
talking in terms of if it's notgenetic, you're talking uh a one
in six million shot of odds ofthat happening twice.
So we've we've kind of livedboth sides of it.
The worst case of it, and aboutthe best case.
This was about the best case youcan have, and he's doing great.
Wow, that's good, that's good.
(11:32):
Yeah, so it's it's a it's a wildride.
It's and now it's it's we don'thave kids, no more kids.
Let's just say I mean like youguys know the casino to you.
SPEAKER_05 (11:41):
I can only imagine
how difficult that is, and to
turn it around into somethinggood, like props to you.
Um, I've talked about it before.
My brother um was born with halfof a heart, and you know uh I
saw my mom and you know, stepdadgo through all that.
So props to you and and doingsomething good from it and you
(12:02):
know creating the awareness ofwhat's happening.
SPEAKER_04 (12:05):
So I appreciate it,
Jessica.
Yeah, appreciate it.
Thanks, guys.
SPEAKER_01 (12:09):
On on the auction
front, how many the first time
you guys did it, how manycourses got involved?
SPEAKER_00 (12:18):
It was um what Mike,
maybe 30?
SPEAKER_06 (12:23):
Yeah, it wasn't it
wasn't a ton.
Um maybe 30 or 40.
I mean it was pretty small.
SPEAKER_00 (12:29):
30 or 40.
SPEAKER_06 (12:30):
I could probably
look back at the the software,
but it was yeah, I mean, andthat was that was nine years ago
now.
Um, this is our ninth this year,so I mean it was small, but it
was you know, we I don'tremember how we even came up
with the idea, Bush.
SPEAKER_00 (12:45):
I think we were just
chatting about it and you know
how we can I called you I calledyou at 8 30 in the morning.
I woke up and I remember that Iwoke up at four o'clock in the
morning and Instagram waschatting.
He was like, I got an idea.
Yeah, like at that point wedidn't know each other at all.
I was like, I don't know who youare, but I like your stuff.
Here's my idea, and you're like,that's cool.
Let's talk about it.
I was like, okay, yeah, straightstraight Instagram cold call.
SPEAKER_01 (13:06):
And how many courses
were in last year's auction?
SPEAKER_00 (13:09):
Last year we had
126.
So 126.
SPEAKER_04 (13:15):
Um sick tracks too,
like some of the some of the
best in the country, top 100courses and stuff like that.
Like it, it was the list of ofthe courses was just unreal.
SPEAKER_01 (13:24):
Like it's like yeah,
this isn't like you know,
Nebraska, Omaha municipal.
These are bangers, yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (13:33):
Yeah, yeah, it's
it's pretty wild.
I mean, I I'd say half of it wasyou know, still remains kind of
friends and family and friendsand friends and colleagues and
work and colleagues, you know, work co-workers, but you know,
every now, every year we'll losefive because I just get tapped
out and I understand, and thenanother seven will show up out
(13:53):
of nowhere.
Like, I heard about you throughMike and I follow, or I'll get
an email just from somebody, andit's like that's awesome.
Uh, yeah, so it's kind ofcontinue to self-propagate every
year.
Where you know, Mike and I lookat each other in like late
August, and we're like, shh, ornow it's probably September.
We keep bumping it back, like,oh shit.
(14:14):
We got we gotta play catch up.
We lost three courses we'regonna do, and then all of a
sudden five appear.
Like, all right, so every yearwe start to freak out, and then
we like, you know, it'll settlein the week before, like, all
right, we're good again.
So yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (14:27):
Well, I I'm gonna
like call out every Vegas golf
course that can do this, thatcan participate.
SPEAKER_06 (14:34):
You're one of your
favorite courses, Revere,
already in.
SPEAKER_01 (14:37):
Yeah, I saw that.
I saw that in the I was lookingthrough the the pre-launch of
it.
So, but I'm calling everybodyelse out.
We have way too many golfcourses in this town that this
is a great opportunity for notonly people to help donate to an
amazing foundation, but also getsome people that may not have
come to Vegas and played a golfcourse.
(14:58):
That hey, they find it on theauction and then they book it.
So, all you Vegas car courses,I'm putting you all on point
right now.
SPEAKER_06 (15:06):
I'll say uh Circuit
and Cascada are also already
both in.
Um we're working on working onsome other ones, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (15:17):
Should all be doing
it, every single one of them.
SPEAKER_00 (15:21):
This one maybe it's
been it's been cool to watch
like the um I mean it's it'sbeen a it's been a great spread
of like it's every year, everynow and then, like every year,
like some regional catch fire, you know.
And it's like this year we'resuper like northeast, probably
heavy, or even uh we've kind ofventured southeast again.
But years it was like centralwould blow up, like with the
(15:42):
Midwest, so just you know, goodold, good old farm folk, like or
you know, three years ago we hadCalifornia just went bananas, so
it's this rolling like hotpockets hit, and so I don't know
what creates that, if it'sfriends talking to friends or
what, but it it always is uhyou'll see it coming.
And this one I I I bet we'reprobably 65, 35 east of the
(16:07):
Mississippi right now.
So yeah, we got some ground tocatch up on the west coast a
little bit.
SPEAKER_05 (16:12):
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, I mean, some of the golfcourses, I mean it's a it's a
fantastic auction, and thecourses you can play are just
insane, insane.
And the West Coast definitelyneeds to represent if you're in
the West Coast, you guys gottarep.
Let's go.
SPEAKER_01 (16:30):
No reason not to do
this, no reason not to do it.
SPEAKER_06 (16:32):
Well, and and we
talk about how big and you know
awesome all the courses are, butanyone who's willing to donate,
like somebody in your areaprobably wants to play your
course.
So a lot like Ryan mentioned, alot of the courses, um, the
opportunities are because someawesome, generous member wants
to, you know, donate and helpout.
And you know, they typically doan accompanied round where you
(16:54):
know, three or maybe four peoplego check out the course, and you
know, regardless of how big orsmall your course is, if someone
wants to donate, we'll take it.
Um, and you know, every every ascliche as it is, every penny
counts.
SPEAKER_00 (17:07):
And yeah, um, I
think too the the I mean hell,
if you just look at it, I meanhalf of them, I think, and and I
won't I do the same thing, Iwon't blame them too I I donate
around.
You're talking to your CPA thistime of year.
Uh hey, you had a great year, yeah, get rid of some money.
Hey, put some money somewhere.
So yeah, I mean five poor Havleyis a 501c public charity, so
(17:28):
in-kind donations all count.
Um, so there is, you know, selfishly, I think uh I I again
I do the same thing.
Uh, there's a you know, if youwant to look at it just from
strictly dollars and cents, congrats on your awesome year.
What your money to go to thefeds, or you want to, you know,
good service of money and donatearound the golf.
I know which way I'm going withit for sure.
(17:48):
Exactly.
SPEAKER_05 (17:49):
Shut up on members
that are donating their time to
play with three strangers.
Heck yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (17:54):
Yeah, for sure.
For sure.
SPEAKER_06 (17:56):
Well, and to uh to
Ryan's point, you know, public
courses, there's no way you canconvince me that every one of
your tea times during the yearis full.
So, you know, if you're donatingan empty tea time, you know,
we've got any most donationshave some sort of restriction or
exploration or whatever on them, which is fine.
Um, but you know, any open teatime people want to donate will
take, and that's also you know awrite-off for the course.
(18:19):
So that would either be unfilledor it could be a tax write-off,
you know.
SPEAKER_01 (18:23):
Like yeah, and I
mean, the if it's a gray course,
they're gonna book again becausethey're gonna want to come back,
they're gonna buy some merch, they're gonna buy some food.
I mean, it's not like it's ayou're just giving away money,
right?
SPEAKER_02 (18:39):
Right.
SPEAKER_01 (18:39):
Plus, the people are
gonna see it on the site, so
it's gonna get some recognitionthere.
I mean, I mean, I know theseguys could attest that we scroll
through and see it.
I'm like, never heard of thatone.
Let me see that, you know, andcheck it out and then straight
to Google Maps and look into theoverhead.
SPEAKER_06 (18:54):
Oh, there's another
course around there, so we can
bug this and then we can gothere, and then we you know,
it's well, and if the course iswanted, if they donate, they
also get two posts on DGC, whichis that's a lot of a lot of eyes
on a lot of yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (19:11):
Yeah, I mean, I I
think with some I had a girl,
uh, girl I just went to collegewas as big into social media
marketing.
I asked her, I was like, Yeah, hey, Jacqueline, what what is
the value of this given this thedynamics and then the follower
count of Mike and hisengagement?
I mean, it's it's in thethousands and probably five
thousand plus dollars of freeexposure for what you would pay
(19:32):
for that kind of social mediaexposure to the audience and
engagements and the dynamic andthe demographics of the
followers.
I mean, it's it's no joke whatthey would go pay to have
sponsored posts in front of260,000 people of you know, the
you know, you probably couldn'ttailor a golf audience better
than what you know BGC and Mikehave in terms of right age,
(19:56):
travel golf or male versus uhit's yeah, she looked at it,
it's probably been a couple ofyears, but it was it was
significant uh in terms of whatthat would cost you if you went
out to to market and said, Hey,I want to go put my course in
front of this many people.
SPEAKER_05 (20:09):
Yeah, for sure.
There is more than a force ofyeah, way more than definitely,
definitely it's a no-brainer.
SPEAKER_01 (20:17):
Gosh darn it.
SPEAKER_05 (20:19):
Definitely
no-brainer, definitely
no-brainer.
SPEAKER_01 (20:21):
I'd better see a lot
more local.
SPEAKER_05 (20:24):
You need to go, you
need to go to your roots and go
visit the east side and get theditch on there.
SPEAKER_01 (20:28):
Yeah, well, I'm I'm
gonna put email blasting some
people tomorrow 100.
There, there are some peoplethat I know at some courses that
would be kicking themselves ifthey didn't participate in this.
SPEAKER_00 (20:42):
So welcome one and
all, by all means.
We'll send them a we'll sendthem a we're usually pretty good
taking care of folks too.
We'll we'll send them some swag.
We got good swag, so we'll getyou guys' addresses after this
and send you some good gear too.
So we'll we'll take care offolks.
SPEAKER_01 (20:57):
So I'm I'm loving
that lid you got on.
SPEAKER_00 (20:58):
So yeah, we'll we'll
send some gear out to the group
here, and anyone that donates,we'll we'll send them some gear
too to say our things.
We'll take care of our folks forsure.
Love it, love it.
SPEAKER_01 (21:07):
So uh, do we have
any overseas stuff this year?
SPEAKER_00 (21:11):
Yeah, um, I know we
got um old head in Ireland, we
got what Mike Lofeten in Norway.
SPEAKER_06 (21:20):
Um we got which is
just bought by Cabot, and that
is gonna be a special.
That's one of the only places inthe world you can play under
under the moonlight at midnight, middle of the hours.
Yep.
SPEAKER_00 (21:31):
Um we're working
some Mexico and Dominican.
They always are they're alwayskind of the the last couple in.
So I'd expect, you know, in thepast we've had Mayacoba, we've
had Casa Pierre Potita the Dogs.
Um at some point we hadWentworth over in London.
We gotta kind of revisit thatone.
Uh what's the one in Italy too,Mike?
(21:53):
There's one in Italy that's beenthere.
SPEAKER_06 (21:55):
Uh well, we had um
La Nationale where they had the
Ryder Cup in Paris.
SPEAKER_00 (22:02):
That's right.
Yep, hand them up.
SPEAKER_06 (22:03):
Um the one in Italy
was a few years back.
It was uh oh, I can't rememberthe name of it.
SPEAKER_00 (22:10):
Yeah, we'll we had
well we have Carne, we had to
get Carne.
We've got Carne links, yep.
We've had them multiple times.
That guy's usually prettyresponsive.
So yeah, I mean, they'll they'llbe a good spread.
We had to a spot at some point.
We gotta, you know, these areall people that have been poked
multiple times now over the lasttwo months.
So hopefully they can returnfrom their um their summer
vacations and get on it.
SPEAKER_01 (22:33):
Yeah, part of the go
ahead.
Did that pigeon putt up inCanada do it again?
SPEAKER_06 (22:38):
It didn't sell last
year.
SPEAKER_01 (22:39):
What?
SPEAKER_06 (22:40):
Yeah, which one was
that again?
It was uh it's that it's thecourse you see all the videos
from.
It's like this sick pigeon puttthat's like pseudo-private that
some guy set up basically in thewoods.
And I don't know if it's becausenobody knows where it is.
Because you don't even getbasically if you secure a tea
time there, he doesn't tell youwhere it is until the day up he
calls you.
And I think the only thing hetells you is like what city it's
(23:02):
around.
It was he wouldn't even tell us,he's just like it's around the
city, and whoever wins will getinto contact with me and we'll
tell him how to get here.
It's it's crazy.
And it didn't sell last year, which is wild because he
basically reserved the entireday for a group.
SPEAKER_05 (23:19):
But well, there's
another one called Vickery
Creek.
SPEAKER_06 (23:23):
Is that the one in
on the east coast?
In like yeah, it's like Georgia,Georgia, it's in Georgia, yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (23:28):
Vickery Creek.
So it's like Vickery Creek.
Oh, I must be thinking of adifferent one then.
The one in Canada, I for there'sone in Canada and I just forget
the name, but it's similar.
That's the one that they don'tknow.
SPEAKER_06 (23:40):
Yeah, I remember
seeing that.
SPEAKER_01 (23:41):
I wanted I wanted to
get some feedback on that.
SPEAKER_06 (23:44):
Yeah, that would be
so it looks it looks wild.
Like if you played there everyday, your short game would be so
good.
SPEAKER_05 (23:50):
Oh god, I would love
to play that.
I would love to play that.
SPEAKER_01 (23:55):
Uh all right.
So, what about uh stay and playpackages?
How how many do you have?
Is there some what's going onwith those?
Because I know that that'sappealing for a lot of people.
SPEAKER_06 (24:06):
Yeah, um, we got a
number of them.
Uh, I guess we'll start from theWest Coast.
Uh Court of All just confirmedthey've got an overnight stay
for two.
Uh that's probably one of thebest publicly accessed courses
in Northern California.
It's in wine country.
It's stunning.
Um uh Dismal River, it'stechnically not a stay in play,
(24:27):
it's just two days of unlimitedgolf, and then you can pay for a
lodging.
That's worth it.
Uh there's nowhere else to staythough, right?
So you gotta get two free daysof golf, like just pay for the
lot.
It's worth it.
Yeah, absolutely.
Dismal river is unbelievable.
Shout out Dismal River.
I'm trying to think of otherones off the top of my head.
We have we have a number ofthem.
(24:48):
Go ahead.
Oh yeah, Sylvie's, which is uhout in the ranch.
Yeah, that's Sylvie's Ranch.
Yep, or Oregon.
Thank you.
SPEAKER_00 (24:56):
Thank you, uhdies.
SPEAKER_06 (24:58):
We've got the goat
caddies there.
Yep, yeah.
They're always they're they'realways super like they just got
on board a couple years ago, butthe um trying to remember what
his name is.
Patrick Steffi.
Maybe that's that sound right,Ryan.
Yep, yeah.
He's unbelievable.
He's so excited to help out.
He, you know, whatever we can doto raise, he's just
unbelievable.
SPEAKER_00 (25:17):
Um their properties.
Yep.
SPEAKER_06 (25:27):
Uh Dormy's a OG
supporter, they've been doing it
since day one, basically.
Dormy and Piners, outside ofPinears, Dormy.
SPEAKER_05 (25:34):
The club network, so
like the whole network network.
Oh my network shout out, DormyNetwork.
SPEAKER_00 (25:39):
Yeah, Zach and Brian
are awesome.
They've been they've been aroundfor yeah, eight, nine years,
probably since the beginning.
They'll all raffle off ayear-long membership.
SPEAKER_05 (25:47):
So, question so
Dormy Network is Grable up
there.
SPEAKER_00 (25:52):
They have, I can't
believe I want to say that the
stable, the stay and plan mayexclude Dormy and Grable.
I think of the two that may beexcluded from it, but I think
everything else is in it.
SPEAKER_06 (26:03):
Dude, that place is
interesting.
Next full disclosure, I did mybuddy, my co-worker bought this
a few years ago.
Um, I happened to take along, and we we went to Victoria
National.
SPEAKER_04 (26:14):
Yeah, that's the one
outside of uh Louisville, right?
SPEAKER_06 (26:20):
Yeah, uh Indiana,
right?
Yeah, yeah, kind of around thatarea.
Um, but that place was oh mygod, that place is awesome.
SPEAKER_04 (26:30):
My buddy Travis
lives out there, and uh he's a
member at uh uh I think he's amember at Valhalla, but yeah, he
said the same thing.
Yeah, it's like that course isinsane.
SPEAKER_05 (26:39):
Victoria National ex
sweet.
SPEAKER_00 (26:42):
Yep, yep.
Um Bar, I think Barton Springsdown there in Texas, Pine Dunes
down in Texas.
We both have two stay and playsdown there.
Um there's probably eight ornine trips.
I'm missing one somewhere, Ithink, too, on the east coast.
But yeah, that's eight or ninetrips in there in the stay and
(27:02):
play variety.
Is whispering pines on the listout there in uh Texas?
We they are not.
They are not.
Once upon a time, they once upona time they were.
They they uh they are not thisyear, but uh Trinity Trinity
Forest will be in there.
Okay, all right.
SPEAKER_01 (27:22):
Yeah, that's isn't
whispering pines your favorite
golf course, Dan.
SPEAKER_06 (27:26):
It's it's yeah, it
was it's incredible.
There's also a course in Arizonawhere Rom and Mickelson are both
members.
Silverleaf.
SPEAKER_02 (27:40):
Yeah, I saw that.
SPEAKER_05 (27:41):
Yeah, yeah.
Arizona has too much golf, it'sjust insane.
Too much.
SPEAKER_01 (27:47):
Dude, did uh not to
change the subject, but did you
see the pricing of golf inArizona for waste management
week?
SPEAKER_05 (27:55):
Oh ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01 (27:58):
Week away.
I think I've told you guys 475.
SPEAKER_06 (28:02):
475.
Well, dude, I talked to I thinkI've told you before, but I
talked to the uh marketing folksat Quintero.
No shame.
Like as far as demand goes, theprice just goes like they told
me about like during COVID,their t-sheets were just stuffed
and they just went until theydidn't fill anymore, and they
never really stopped filling.
SPEAKER_05 (28:24):
It it blows my mind.
So my my daughter's named afterQuintero, her name's Quinn.
Oh, I named her after Quintero.
I've never played there, youknow.
Of course, yeah, and and hermiddle name is Poppy after Poppy
Hill Poppy Hills in Monterey.
I've never played there, but um,I mean, that's what I tell
myself.
My wife might think somethingdifferent, but um it's just
(28:48):
crazy, like just undercut andthen you'll get ever you'll get
the t-sheet full.
You know what I mean?
Like that doesn't make sense tome.
SPEAKER_06 (28:56):
But I uh their t
sheets are full.
Oh, that's the problem.
Well, they are, yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (28:59):
Yeah, yeah.
That blows my mind.
I I mean Quintero's beencharging 400 bucks for for a
round for five years now.
Well, they just went underwentuh renovation, big renovation,
yeah.
Yeah, yeah, but uh charge 500.
It's it's they need to recoupthat money.
It's it's peak season, like youknow, I've gone there in the
summer and it's way cheaper, andyou go in the winter and it's or
(29:22):
no, it's cheaper in the winterand then more expensive in more
expensive in the winter.
SPEAKER_01 (29:28):
It's more expensive
in the winter, yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (29:30):
Cheaper, so yeah.
So yeah, I mean I played PPTSummerlin and it was 600 when I
was there in the winter, and inthe summer it was 200 bucks, so
it's just a big season.
SPEAKER_00 (29:40):
I played some uh the
Marriott course out, JW Marriott
course out there.
I was out there for a conferenceand it was like July.
I think I paid like 75 bucks, and I had the course to myself,
but it was also 115 degrees out.
All right, that's rough.
Yeah, if you want to go play, Iguess.
Like drink water.
Nobody out there, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (30:00):
As long as you're
first there, it'll be all right.
Make sure your cell phone hasreception because you're not
coming to get you.
We're not coming to get you.
SPEAKER_00 (30:08):
Exactly.
SPEAKER_01 (30:10):
Okay, so how do
people participate in the
auction?
What's the process?
What do you got to do?
SPEAKER_00 (30:16):
Yeah, so um I think
both VGC and we have it on our
Instagram feed.
I can pop it in a chat here ifyou guys need me to.
But um the apps run, it's allmobile, it's all on an app
called Handbid.
So download the app, youregister, you gotta have a
credit card on file, and then umyeah, it kicks off Tuesday at
(30:38):
noon Eastern.
Um, and we'll run it through uhMonday, the Monday after.
So the following Monday, we'lldo Cyber Monday, let everyone
get back from their weekendplans, check on their bets and
or their bids, and theneverything wraps up Monday
night.
So bets, bids, yeah.
Um so yeah, it's simple, it'ssuper user-friendly app.
(30:59):
Um, if you know if you guys wantto drop it in the chat
afterwards, we can.
But handbid um for Hadley.
If you download Hambid and thenyou search for Hadley or BGC,
it'll pop up.
Um, you can register browse, andthen yeah, when it goes live.
SPEAKER_05 (31:12):
Will it be on your
website?
I mean, I'm assuming, right?
SPEAKER_00 (31:14):
Yeah, it will be on
our website.
We'll put it on there.
SPEAKER_05 (31:16):
I'm just gonna drop
your website for now, and then
um we can we can throw it in thethe description when the video
posts.
SPEAKER_00 (31:24):
Yeah, yeah, here you
go.
I can um get back to the um Imean I can text us in the chat
the the link, the actual link tothe auction.
SPEAKER_05 (31:37):
Yeah, if you're in
if you're in the yeah, go for
it.
There you go.
There it is.
I don't know if it'll work, butthere you go.
SPEAKER_00 (31:43):
You guys have it you
guys have it at least, or I
guess there it is in the privatechat.
You guys have it.
So yeah, I mean it's it's wild.
It's always fun to you know iteveryone comes out guns blazing
on Tuesday.
I mean, it hits it, and andpeople get a banana, start
getting early bids in, and itkind of goes dormant for an
hour, a day or so.
(32:03):
Everyone kind of gets the travelgoing.
You can kind of see peoplegetting a little hopped up on
cocktails and turkey onThursday, so they'll check back
in.
There'll be another wave ofbids, they'll come through
Thursday and Friday with peoplewatching football.
Gotta Peter's off you know,Saturday, Sunday night, people
get home, check in again, andthen Monday just a free-for-all,
(32:24):
Monday afternoon and Mondaynight.
So it has been close, like it itevery year, and then that like
hour out from the end of it,it's just like a just so yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (32:38):
I think I mentioned
this to Mike last year.
Do you have can you guys put atally board on the website so we
can see how much money's beingraised?
SPEAKER_00 (32:46):
Yeah, I think it's
in there.
There's something on the appthat I checked the box for it.
SPEAKER_06 (32:52):
Um if you maybe go
back to like it's hard to see on
the app, but if you go on the ifyou go on a computer on the on
the handbid website, you can seeum the the running number.
SPEAKER_00 (33:04):
Yeah, it's out
there.
I you know, I probably couldI'll I'll send out I'll usually
send out an email or a message, you know, broadcast message to
everyone on uh Tuesday morning, kind of outlining the you know,
tips, tricks, what to expect, where to check on things, and so
I could probably list that too.
But yeah, you can always kind ofsee the running ticker where
it's at.
(33:24):
Let's see.
SPEAKER_01 (33:28):
So this is what it
looks like.
There you go.
That's what the website lookslike, everybody.
So you can see it.
And there's uh this is for theYouTube viewers.
If you're on the podcast rightnow listening, I apologize.
But we're showing the uh thefour Hadley BGC beautiful
charity auction, beautiful golfcharity auction, uh, where uh
(33:51):
you can go to the website andview everything.
SPEAKER_06 (33:54):
So yeah, if you're
just listening to the website.
If you go to Browse, if you goto Browse IG you can uh you can
sort by region and stuff, so youcan sort by private, public, or
east or west of the Mississippi.
So it shows a lot of a lot ofdifferent things you can sort
by.
SPEAKER_00 (34:11):
Oh, yeah, we have
Scotland course in there.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (34:14):
Oh, you got Scotland
now?
SPEAKER_00 (34:16):
Yeah, and Aaron was
in there.
SPEAKER_06 (34:19):
You go back down,
there you go.
Private, public, vacation, golfmemberships, all that stuff.
SPEAKER_01 (34:25):
Oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (34:27):
Um there's gonna be
more.
We always have a big push kindof the last week as we kind of
follow up on emails that were.
SPEAKER_01 (34:35):
Yeah, don't don't
expect these prices to be that
when you're these these willjump, but uh there's some really
really good stuff on here.
SPEAKER_03 (34:45):
Really, Dismal River
might work really well at the
end of May.
Yeah, true.
SPEAKER_01 (34:50):
Yeah, this is true.
This is very true.
All right, let me stop this.
SPEAKER_05 (34:56):
That would be
awesome.
Oh shit.
Little six-hour drive after I'vebeen all the way across the
state again.
SPEAKER_00 (35:04):
We're gonna go
again.
Uh I'm overdue for a Vegas trip,boys.
Where do you guys usually playwhen you're in Vegas?
SPEAKER_05 (35:11):
All around all over
the place, not in Vegas.
The outskirts.
We're on the outskirts, is wherewe typically play.
Nice, yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (35:21):
Uh Paiute's great.
There's three courses out herethat are yeah, similar.
Paiute's very good.
SPEAKER_01 (35:27):
Rio Seiko is really
good right now.
I I can't call it circuit.
I can't do it.
SPEAKER_00 (35:33):
What was I gonna do
with Aisha?
SPEAKER_06 (35:36):
Aisha was our girl
at Paiute, which I think she's
yeah, she's been she's Paiute'sflaked this the last couple
years now.
SPEAKER_00 (35:42):
It's crazy.
It's I mean it happens like youhooked in.
I mean, yeah, I think the thethe the career for somebody at
like a given course is probablytwo, three, four years before
they move on.
So when it's likere-establishing that connection
with somebody who comes inafterwards, it's always like you
know, it kind of comes and goes, and you hope that somebody is is
a note's been left, but that'salways chasing down whoever the
(36:04):
last person was that was inmarketing and and donation and
charitable giving, you know, they leave, and then you know,
you probably lose them for ayear or two, and hopefully they
pick it back up.
SPEAKER_05 (36:13):
Well, that's what's
crazy about golf, it's exploded
so much, and you know, peopleare moving to the next hot
thing, which is you know, goodon them, but you know, you gotta
you gotta build your network.
And I mean, like are if you'reeven still in contact with her,
where did she go?
Because where what else is shegonna do?
SPEAKER_00 (36:34):
Yeah, it's um I mean
it it's it's well I have some I
have a buddy he's he's gone ondone, he was kind of a dipshit
in college, and but he wasalways a good golfer.
I mean, we're all dipshits incollege, I guess, but he was you
know supreme dipshit, but he'sgone on and you know, turned in
a career, and he's worked hisway up the ranks at at TPC
(36:57):
through different courses.
He was running the show at RiverHighlands for a while, and he's
you know, he's probably 20 yearsinto a career at TPC Corporate.
Um, what's the guy that used tobe at um Palmia?
He's gone and now runs invitedclubs.
So it's kind of cool to watchthe net the progression of um
some of these folks have stuckaround and made it a career.
(37:19):
Um good cards to uh good cardsto have, you know, for those of
us who don't have kids like Mikeand can still get out there and
travel and play as many sportsplay.
Uh at some point I just need totake a year off and be like I
feel like I need to cash in somechips and some favors of all the
invites I just don't like, yeah.
I'd love to come out and hangout and tell Mike's inviting me
(37:41):
on probably a dozen golf trips.
I'm like, man, I'm sorry, I gotfreaking little league baseball
this weekend, I can't miss that.
So yes, I know, I know, I know.
SPEAKER_01 (37:50):
I'm a year and a
half away from an empty house.
So oh man, yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (37:55):
You're about to have
a Mike, it's nice to be able to
try and go.
SPEAKER_06 (37:59):
I was gonna say, you
know, Dan, this all sounds
really tough, doesn't it?
SPEAKER_04 (38:02):
Yeah, yeah.
You know, got a lot of dreadover here.
SPEAKER_01 (38:08):
Yeah, I'm almost
done.
Jeremy's right in the middle, and Joe just started, so just
started, yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (38:13):
It's great, it is it
is great though.
I mean, it is great, and um it'sjust tough.
SPEAKER_06 (38:20):
It's tough I'll just
hung out with I just hung out
with my nieces and nephews thispast weekend.
It's awesome when I'm there, they're great kids, and then you
just give them back and then youget to leave.
Yeah, you get the best of bothworld.
SPEAKER_00 (38:33):
Yeah, they'll
probably appreciate us at some
point.
I'm sure they'll look back andsay thank you many, many years
from now.
But I also had a knockdown dragout with my son this morning at
7:30 because it took him between6:55 when he finished breakfast,
took him 42 minutes to uh take adump, uh brush his teeth and get
dressed.
We were still late for school.
(38:54):
I was like, I don't know howthis took 42 minutes.
I don't understand.
Like, I'm not even like I'm noteven trying to be an ass.
Like, I literally need to knowhow this happened, how we're
like what were you doing?
Like, what were you doing?
SPEAKER_05 (39:05):
Like, tell me
there's no concept of time
traffic, yeah.
Like Coach has like coach, Imean, coach's son, I believe, is
in Japan, so he has to take atrip to Japan every year to go
visit his son and grandkids, andyou know, so enjoy the moments.
Uh, it's tough in the moment, but enjoy the moment, like I
(39:28):
would say, do it for the moment.
SPEAKER_00 (39:30):
When one trade one
trade now this morning I could
have probably told you, like,I'm out of here, guys.
But no, they're good kids.
That's fine.
SPEAKER_05 (39:39):
I got I got a I got
a birthday party on Saturday,
and I have no idea who any ofthese people are because my wife
has to work, and uh she waslike, 'Are you taking them?
I'm like, I I have to, I haveto, I guess.
So yes, I'll one up you.
SPEAKER_00 (39:58):
I got seven kids
staying the night here on Friday
night.
Uh it's gonna be an absoluteshit show.
I don't think anything to doeither.
It's like we're going to dinner, and then I think you know what
you do.
So I've already told theirparents, like, hey, I want to
call you at 10:30 because yourson's having a meltdown, like,
you gotta be here in like five.
SPEAKER_05 (40:15):
Right, yeah, you're
you're fire marshal bill.
SPEAKER_00 (40:17):
Like, yeah, uh, I'm
gonna give them a glass of milk
and sit them down, but like whenit's over, you gotta be here.
SPEAKER_05 (40:24):
So, yeah, grab a
Garmin R, uh the Garmin, the
cheapest launch monitor, andjust set up a net and just have
them hit some golf balls.
SPEAKER_00 (40:31):
Yeah, we're going to
a Mexican restaurant to tire
them out, let them run aroundthe grass for about two hours
and come back here and throw ontop gun or something and be
like, See ya.
Yep, here I'm gonna lock thisdoor from the outside.
You guys behave yourselves.
We'll see you later.
SPEAKER_01 (40:47):
We did a we did a
party one time, and I was like,
never again.
Go anywhere else that not neverhear again.
SPEAKER_05 (40:58):
Yeah, if if crystal
pizza was still around, I would
I would maybe do a party, butCrystal Pete's is gone.
SPEAKER_00 (41:04):
We did three years
straight, and we just I don't
know why we didn't do it.
I guess we just got sick ofdoing it, but we paid a it's
it's an awesome business idea.
It's a game truck, it's a guythat has like a sprinter van
outfitted with like oh yeah, nine TVs inside of it, like
loaded with PlayStation 6s orwhatever they are, and they just
show up in your driveway, throwthat thing up, and allow kids to
go play games for two hours, andit's awesome.
SPEAKER_04 (41:25):
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (41:25):
I mean, it's not
that expensive.
It's like business idea, theseare your problems.
Uh, I don't know why we're gonnado that again.
I may just give the guy a calland tell him to come back Friday
night just because I don't wantto.
SPEAKER_01 (41:38):
Oh man.
So anything else that uh youguys want to cover about this?
SPEAKER_05 (41:45):
We're gonna go full
golf after this.
SPEAKER_00 (41:47):
No, guys, I um I I I
can't uh can't thank you guys
enough for having us on.
I really do.
It's um this this makes youknow, from the bottom of our
hard drug society, it makes sucha difference for for our
community.
Um, a lot of the funding fromthis this auction goes directly
to a massive push we do over theholidays.
We send out about a hundred carepackages to kids and nikkies
(42:09):
around the country, pretty muchfunded solely by this auction.
So um, you know, for having uson, thank you guys so much.
Um I'm thrilled that you guyshave been the passive one and
and and are using this to go dosome awesome stuff with friends.
So um for those on thecommunity, I we can't see, I
can't see I to everyone outthere.
Thank you all for taking thetime to listen.
This is something that'sobviously near and dear to me,
(42:31):
but it's turned into somethingthat's that's really cool to
watch and see.
And I know people, you know, weget probably several stories a
year.
I got a guy emailed me today andsaid that they just finally
played their round in uh I thinksomewhere in Florida yesterday,
and they met a good dude.
And so the connections from itare awesome too.
So it's golf, man.
Golf, yeah, it's golf.
It's awesome.
So no, uh, that's a lot ofpeople.
SPEAKER_01 (42:52):
If we not gone, we
would not have found out about
that killer Mexican spot inPaison.
What was it, Joe?
SPEAKER_05 (43:00):
I forget, but coach
is asking, can people donate if
they don't win two times?
And I would assume that is true.
Yeah, definitely can't.
SPEAKER_00 (43:08):
Yeah, well, there'll
be they'll be if it's not built
in yet, there'll be an appeal.
Um, it'll be a line, it'll be anitem where you can either
donate, uh uh, you know, justwhatever you want, or we we also
let people buy like hundreddollar Amazon gift cards for
families.
So that'll be in the there'll beanother tab in there, and so
it'll be like there'll bedonation or you know, Amazon
(43:31):
gift card.
SPEAKER_05 (43:32):
This is gonna be a
record.
This is gonna be a record.
We're open so record 30.
No, 32 minutes in was lastweek's right.
Maybe I have to do a whatnotshow where all the tips 43
minutes at the record.
Yeah, no whatnot.
The new record, yeah.
So maybe we'll have to do ashow.
Yeah, 30.
SPEAKER_06 (43:53):
I'll just uh I'll
just say a little thing.
You know, you guys heard thisstory.
Um, you know, when Bush reachedout to me uh probably close to
10 years ago now, it was it wasa no-brainer on my end.
Um, you know, I I'm just happyto be along for the ride here.
This is something that's biggerthan social media, it's bigger
than golf.
It's you know the fact that Ryanand and Katie established this
(44:15):
for Hadley and and you know, they know the pain of what these
families are going through.
And for them to be doing thisthis uber positive, incredible
thing to help people that theyknow what they're going through,
they know the struggle they'regoing through, and they're doing
it in such a positive, incredible way.
It's I'm just it was it was ano-brainer for me.
Like, how can I help?
(44:35):

it's really cool what we'redoing, and we're really proud of

SPEAKER_06 (45:22):
Yeah, okay.
There was some footage of youguys aiming at billboards
somewhere over the highway.
Yeah, well, that's becausethat's that's true.
That was really fun.
SPEAKER_05 (45:31):
You you have to do
that.
SPEAKER_06 (45:32):
You have to do that.
SPEAKER_01 (45:32):
It's a tradition
tradition, you know.
SPEAKER_00 (45:34):
You gotta have a
local cart girl, some guy in his
hat was awesome, but man, hereally wrote me in, thought I
was a sweet guy, and the game hespit at me on the course was
just well, Revere has a uh cartgirl that likes to record and
not tell you that she'srecording you.
SPEAKER_01 (45:52):
And oh and uh Dan
got caught, but Dan was a super
gentleman, he was very um, butuh yeah, anytime we're out there
people that don't know, I gottago, hey, careful, she's
recording you.
SPEAKER_06 (46:06):
Does she have an
Instagram account?
I feel like I've seen yeah, videos of that.
Yeah, she does.
Does she have to give consentfor that?
Like to post people on there.
I didn't I didn't sign anything.
I don't think so.
Because I've seen videos, there's some pretty obnoxious
dudes she posts.
Oh yeah, watch yourself, watchyourself, y'all.
SPEAKER_01 (46:26):
Just watch never
know who's watching you watching
them.
SPEAKER_05 (46:30):
Hey, always feel
like people are always watching
me.
SPEAKER_01 (46:33):
Watching me.
I saw one the other day where aguy pulls up and just slipped
her some money, you know, and itwas just it was an old cooter,
just happy to see a beautifulyoung woman and wanted to pay
her.
Like, wow.
Be careful out there.
Uh Ryan, if you want to stickaround, you can.
(46:54):
If if you got a bounce, wetotally understand.
Uh, I'll have links toeverything in the show notes,
uh, links to the website, uh,links to previous episodes that
we had uh Mike on about this.
And uh when you're outside, youhave no privacy rights.
SPEAKER_04 (47:08):
Yeah, it makes
sense.
SPEAKER_00 (47:10):
Makes sense.
Um yeah, I'll probably uh it'sgetting late here in Georgia.
I'm probably gonna go because tothe cool this morning.
I probably wake up this morningwith a little bit cooler head so
I can rationalize a 42-minuteroutine for a seven-year-old.
SPEAKER_01 (47:27):
So yeah, let's knock
that down a little bit.
SPEAKER_00 (47:29):
Hey, I wish I
remembered that.
Hope you guys don't mind me justyou know popping in and taking
the time.
Oh, you're good.
No, you're good.
SPEAKER_05 (47:35):
All good.
SPEAKER_00 (47:35):
Yeah, thanks for
coming in.
Uh pass cross out on the golfcourse, either in the desert.
You guys are always welcome herein Georgia.
I'd love to get around him withyou guys.
So we'll put it together.
Mike will make it happen.
Yeah, awesome going on.
He's not a doctor or anything.
SPEAKER_01 (47:51):
Thanks, Ryan.
Uh appreciate you.
Thanks, Brian.
SPEAKER_06 (47:55):
See you later, Ryan.
We'll talk soon.
Yep.
SPEAKER_02 (47:59):

SPEAKER_06 (48:01):
I'll hang out.

I got I got nothing to do, justwork in the morning.
It's early.
You guys are early.
Yeah, we're early.
SPEAKER_01 (48:10):
Yeah, me up till the
next day.
That we did this for you.
SPEAKER_06 (48:13):
Unbelievable.
I appreciate it.
I'm honest.
The early episode, but no, I Iappreciate you guys having
having us on.
This is you heard the story.
I mean, it's incredible.
Um, what Ryan and uh Katie isthe other the other side of of
Fort Hadley, and um she'sincredible.
I've met her this this past umtrip down to Atlanta, and she's
(48:34):
incredibly strong woman.
She's just like Ryan is as faras you know, she'll tell the
story, and um it's just it'sawesome what they're doing.
So yeah, we appreciate youhaving us on.
SPEAKER_01 (48:45):
We need a lot more
people like that in society.
SPEAKER_06 (48:47):
Yeah, I mean
honestly, it's it's
unbelievable.
SPEAKER_01 (48:50):
Man, true.
Man, uh like I said, uh I'llhave everything in the show
notes for everybody to uh checkout.
Uh there's some descriptions inthere right now that you can
find out if you're not sure whatexactly we were talking about.
SPEAKER_06 (49:01):
But uh so uh last
thing about the auction.
Uh I don't know if you noticedright before uh this started, I
posted a$250 credit giveaway tothe auction.
Ooh.
SPEAKER_01 (49:13):
Yes, tell everybody
how they can do that.
SPEAKER_06 (49:15):
Well, you go to the
uh go to our Instagram post and
tag and register for the auctionand tell us which course you
want to play and you're entered, and then we'll pick the winner
on uh the day that it starts, the 25th.
SPEAKER_01 (49:28):
250 bucks to use
towards an auction.
SPEAKER_06 (49:30):
Yep.
SPEAKER_01 (49:31):
That's that's you
know, it's pretty solid.
Yeah, yeah.
25% off if you get a thousanddollar auction.
So that's that's amazing.
So behind me, you will see awall of Garson.
This is something new thatGarson is doing this year.
(49:53):
Uh these are the winter golfboxes.
Uh that you're gonna be able tobuy these on their site.
Uh and if you use uh our code tosave yourself some money,
daylight 15.
SPEAKER_05 (50:06):
Daylight 15 at
Garson Golf.
SPEAKER_01 (50:08):
But inside these,
it's pretty cool.
And each each one has adifferent grip selection, but uh
nice little uh Garson towel.
SPEAKER_05 (50:17):
Can I uh before you
go too deep into this, do do you
get to pick the grips that goin?
SPEAKER_01 (50:23):
I think it's random.
SPEAKER_05 (50:25):
Oh okay.
SPEAKER_01 (50:25):
I thought they said
like you can uh pick, but you
might be uh I don't have to I'llhave to get into a little bit
more details, but uh yeah, it'sthree grips.
So you may be able to choose youknow which ones you want to uh
want to try.
Got some some Garson markers.
Uh yeah, mark up your bulls.
Got some Garson tees to tee upyour bulls.
(50:47):
And then it comes with three.
So it's uh it's a great way foryou to uh try out some grips.
Uh there is some value in this.
Uh great grips.
And uh you get a nice littlecaggy towel and a marker.
So be on the lookout for thoseon the site.
(51:08):
These are these are ours, so youcan't have these.
SPEAKER_04 (51:18):
Welcome to the
congregation.
SPEAKER_01 (51:24):
Uh go ahead, John.
SPEAKER_05 (51:28):
Use the code
daylight15 at Garson Golf.
Fantastic grips.
Um, we are not gonna pick asponsor or throw a sponsor out
there that we don't fullybelieve and trust in.
Gars and golf, use codedaylight15.
Promise you the grips arefantastic.
Probably the best.
I mean, it's up forinterpretation, but everybody's
(51:50):
different in golf, but uh, Garsand Golf makes fantastic quality
work.
Give the holiday box a try, andyou can try a few out.
SPEAKER_01 (52:00):
It's a good way,
it's a good affordable way to
throw some.
Give it a shot on a butter andsee what you think.
If you don't like it, you loveit.
SPEAKER_05 (52:09):
There you go.
Also, go check out three off thetea podcast.
I'll end it there.
Three off the tea.
The whatnot homies started apodcast at church, smoky, all
right.
Go check it out.
They don't go live yet, but youknow, go check them out.
If you want some banter, banter, banter and shrimp and shrimp
(52:32):
content, you can go check themout.
But yes, Gars and Golf.
Fantastic grips.
Daylight 15 and checkout.
Save some money.
SPEAKER_01 (52:43):
Who's this, Mike?
SPEAKER_06 (52:45):
What is that?
My mom, she just texted me.
She doesn't know how to use thechat, but wanted to let us all
know that we're okay.
Oh, yeah, you got the last namein there.
What a ma.
SPEAKER_05 (52:56):
What a ma.
SPEAKER_01 (52:58):
Oh, that's
hilarious.
SPEAKER_03 (53:01):
You should be very
proud of your son.
Very proud of your son.
SPEAKER_04 (53:04):
He's a great guy.
He's a great guy.
Okay, real quick, real quick,Mike.
I have a question.
I just recently saw that LochLabelle has the par three.
The shorty boy.
You got any insight on there forus?
SPEAKER_06 (53:19):
I haven't played
their par three.
I've heard uh so do you have youguys seen uh whistle golf
addict?
He posts quite a bit out of theout of the Midwest.
He does a lot of media andstuff.
He's posted the numbers ofthings from their par three uh
and has said it's it's verygood.
And um I know that I playedtheir their new new, I guess
(53:42):
it's um eight years new, buttheir new setup's unbelievable.
It's very, very good.
Um as far as courses withinmaybe a half hour of Milwaukee,
it's up there with any of theother ones.
Um there's not a lot of greatcourses in like the Milwaukee
Metro that are public.
Um if you go to Loch Labelle, you'll probably see 70% of the
(54:06):
licensed plates are from Chicagobecause that's like where they
go for good golf, which sayssomething if they're coming from
Chicago.
Um that's that's almost two-hourdrive for them, probably.
So uh it's if if you're inWisconsin, I would I would
definitely make the trip to playthere.
Uh if you're gonna mix it inwith you know Aaron Hills or a
number of other courses arewithin a couple hour drive.
(54:29):
Um Black Lab's really, reallygood.
SPEAKER_05 (54:31):
How many beds
bedrooms do you have, Mike?
Because that's are youinterested in interesting
getting yeah.
Are do you are you interested ingetting like oh my apartment?
SPEAKER_06 (54:41):
Oh yeah, uh well,
this is my office, which is
filled with a lot of uh I'm justcurious.
Like if we just showed up oneday, uh we could make it work.
I could get you a call room atthe hospital.
SPEAKER_04 (54:56):
Oh, here we go.
SPEAKER_06 (54:58):
Yeah, the call rooms
are very nice, but we could get
you stuff.
SPEAKER_05 (55:00):
Oh, you really need
to we need to get up there and
see you, man.
We really do need to get upthere.
SPEAKER_06 (55:04):
Yeah, San Valley's
only about an hour away.
There's so much good golf upthere.
There's uh it's unbelievable.
Like Wisconsin golf is we'respoiled here.
Um we only have golf, you know, seven or eight months out of the
year, but yeah, I'm within threehours of whistling straits,
Aaron Hills, Lasonia, um, SanValley, uh Century World, I can
(55:27):
go on.
I it's just we have unbelievablegolf in in our state.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (55:33):
Yeah, the rankings
you had on your uh your stories
a while a couple months ago,it's like new courses that I've
never heard of that you weredoing the rankings of Wisconsin.
Wow.
Yeah, you guys are spoiled upthere for sure.
Flooded, yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (55:46):
And and and even
like a lot of the courses that
were good, but then Sand Valleyand whistling and all these
courses popped up, and theythey're now doing like like
Century World did a renovationat the beginning of COVID where
they shut down, and now they'realso like very, very good.
Um it's just yeah, there's aconstant improvement in the
(56:07):
state for golf, and there's kindof a drive as far as uh keeping
up with the Joneses, if youwill, for destination golf.
And like we even have, I mean, there's a course um down around
Milwaukee that I would argue isthe best muni I've ever played,
Washington County.
It it's getting buzzed now onsocial media.
It's it's a similar setup tosomething like Lesonia, but it's
(56:32):
$49 to play.
It is unbelievable.
The condition that a countycourse is in for this course is
if if you would just you knowget placed on the first T and
not know anything about thecourse or what it costs or
anything, you'd say it's a$250round.
It's unbelievable.
And it's a county course, likeit's crazy good.
SPEAKER_04 (56:52):
That's awesome.
SPEAKER_06 (56:52):
We need my dad and I
play there because it's just he
lives in West Bend, which isprobably 20 minutes from the
course, and we play therewhenever I go over there when we
can, and it's it's crazy good.
SPEAKER_01 (57:04):
We have an
opportunity to book a trip to
Sand Valley.
It's let's see what is it.
It's four rounds and threenights at their lodging for 1800
a person.
Is that worth it?
Yeah, in October?
In October.
SPEAKER_06 (57:19):
Oh, you guys will be
oh, the fall's really good.
SPEAKER_01 (57:22):
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (57:23):
I I think that's so
how many rounds?
SPEAKER_01 (57:25):
Four rounds.
SPEAKER_06 (57:28):
We could we could
get you guys on Lido too.
Uh well this uh I mean is itincluded Lido or Lido?
SPEAKER_01 (57:34):
It's it's there's
two tea times at two different
courses per day.
So it's it's Seg and Leto dayone.
SPEAKER_06 (57:41):
It's a mystery bag,
is it?
Oh, so you get Lido.
SPEAKER_01 (57:44):
Well, it's it's
either you're playing either
Sedge or Lido day one.
You play either Sand Valley orMammoth day two, you play Sand
Valley or Mammoth day three, soyou just swap.
SPEAKER_06 (57:53):
Wait, so you may
play you may play Lido or you
may play Sedge.
They don't tell you which oneyou're gonna play.
I need to play Leto.
SPEAKER_01 (57:59):
Yeah, no, you can
you'll be able to play each
course.
There's four courses.
Oh, you'll be able to play eachgroup thing.
So they have they have tea timesfrom 10 to noon at sedge and 10
to noon at Leto on day one.
SPEAKER_05 (58:13):
So well there's the
commons now.
Does that include the commons?
I don't know if the commons isopen it's gonna open by next
year, though.
Probably at that point, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (58:24):
But that's only 12
holes, isn't it?
SPEAKER_05 (58:26):
Isn't the commons
only 12?
It's not a full 18, but uh yeah,12 holes.
Yeah, I'm looking at it.
I don't know how they're I don'tknow how they're gonna
incorporate that into yeah, isthat uh Jeff Marsh?
SPEAKER_06 (58:38):
Who is that?
SPEAKER_05 (58:39):
Jeff Marsh, shout
out Jeff Marsh.
SPEAKER_06 (58:41):
Yeah, he's he's
incredible.
Look at that boy right there, dude.
So ironically, I've beenchatting with him a lot.
We had the same exact backsurgery like the same week.
Oh, really?
February last year, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
We both had like our legs stopworking.
And I noticed he posted the samething.
I was like, dude, but yeah, he'sdoing great now.
He's and he does unbelievablework.
(59:04):
Yeah, being honest.
SPEAKER_05 (59:05):
He said he would
come on the podcast.
We've just been you guys shouldget him.
He he's yeah, no, he said verywell traveled.
SPEAKER_01 (59:10):
Yeah, yeah, he's he
yeah, we've reached out like Joe
said, we've reached out a coupletimes, it's just it's tough with
scheduling, and then he wasn'tdoing well.
SPEAKER_06 (59:18):
So now he's I think
he's on the he's on the up and
on the mend, and now he's backhe's killing.
SPEAKER_05 (59:24):
So he was at Tobacco
Road and killed the drone today.
Oh, yeah.
Now that we now that we'repotentially going earlier in the
day, maybe he'll come on becausethen it Tennessee time, you
know, that's that's tough.
11 30 start Tennessee time.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (59:40):
I'm not gonna say I
didn't say something like you
guys come and go on late, but Imight have said that.
SPEAKER_05 (59:45):
No, we do, we do,
but it's we do.
SPEAKER_06 (59:47):
I know you guys it's
tough for everyone to get a to
get a schedule before 7 p.m.
SPEAKER_01 (59:51):
It's you know, and
and I've been going down this
this rabbit hole of how to makethe show better, you know.
As far as podcasting and YouTubelive and how to get more eyes on
this on the show.
And I came across her analyticsand like at 8:30, it's just
dark.
There's nothing.
And so I said to the guy, hey, let's maybe try a couple earlier
(01:00:14):
episodes, see if we can get alittle bit more people hanging
out on the live chats and uh youknow see see how it goes.
But uh last week was a prettygood success with the new
vertical format.
So we'll see how uh earlier withvertical does and uh you know
keep it going.
SPEAKER_05 (01:00:32):
I will say, guys,
like if you guys follow my
whatnot show and I it seriously, this is we're serious moment
right here, guys.
Uh-oh.
My only goal ever with startingmy whatnot show besides like
those people that suck atselling, was to get you guys two
(01:01:01):
episodes now to talk golf.
I know a lot of you guys arenew, but you can go back into
the catalogs.
We love golf.
I want if you watch my show, Iwant you to understand like the
hit and greens brand is dope anduh to come listen to the Chase
and Hilly podcast show.
(01:01:21):
Only goal I've ever had, not tosteal from you, make money from
you, to uh any of that.
Maybe and with my funds, maybetake some golf trips, maybe, but
it's to get you here.
So anybody that is here now, because of whatnot, I appreciate
you because that that's been myentire goal the whole time.
And if you own anything hit andgreens, I appreciate you.
(01:01:43):
I rock with pride.
I'm gonna go hit and greens.
Honestly, I promise you, it'snot to steal money from your
wallet, it's to get you to cometo the Chase and Daylight
Podcast and listen to thecatalog.
Because there's a lot, you gottaget you.
It's it's time to start catchingup.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:05):
There's quite a bit
on there.
There is quite a bit on there.
Uh, so we have uh a massive boxof goodies from Garson coming.
Uh it'll be here, it'll be hereThursday.
I don't know if I'm gonna beable to get it to Joe in time if
he's doing a show this week ornot.
Uh so we and then Thanksgivingthe following week, so it may be
(01:02:28):
a couple weeks before we getsome of the stuff on the show.
SPEAKER_05 (01:02:31):
Hey, Black Friday,
there's zero commission.
Black Friday.
So guys, people are gonna begoing crazy on Black Friday and
whatnot.
So go check them out.
If you need it, if you need areferral code, you know who to
contact.
Should boy.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:48):
We have a uh a bunch
of special edition, never
released uh player player stuffthat uh can read for the app to
crash.
Yeah.
Um that we're gonna be selling, and uh Joe's gonna be selling on
the show, and uh gonna be somereally cool stuff.
So be be on the cool, yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (01:03:11):
I'm keeping some of
those for sure.
I'm keeping some.
I know you're keeping some too,yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:16):
Yeah, yeah.
That we got some Odyssey Garsongrips coming.
SPEAKER_05 (01:03:20):
So also this is this
is our giveaway tonight.
Shadow Creek ball marker.
All you gotta do is comment.
Be here.
We're doing the we're doing theinfluencer thing.
Shadow Creek ball marker.
All you gotta do is comment, andwe're gonna wheel it up.
Looks like a bot uh bottleopener, too.
Is that a bottle opener?
Yeah, it is a bottle opener.
(01:03:40):
Yeah, bring brand new multilittle multi-purpose shadow
creek tool.
Still in the plastic.
It was ten dollars.
I purchased this cleany boys, plastic boy, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:51):
Or brassy piece
plasty, brassy, cleany boy.
SPEAKER_05 (01:03:54):
There it is.
That's your guys' giveaway forthe show tonight.
Cleany boy, cleany boys, stillin the question for you.
SPEAKER_03 (01:04:04):
So you played a lot
of bangers, obviously.
Like you get access to coursesand you've been on a lot of
trips, but what's coming up foryou?
Like, do you have any on yourbucket list that are that you
can safely say?
SPEAKER_06 (01:04:14):
Or uh I'm I'm
hoping.
So I had a couple of tripsscheduled last year before all
my my back stuff went down.
Um I'm hoping to get back toStream Song soon.
Uh, I haven't been back theresince they had black and uh the
chain added, and that's that's alittle bit of a sentimental trip
(01:04:36):
for me because I that was sortof my first big trip.
Uh, I think I told the storythat kind of the first big trip
I had, the first tea box there, the first caddy I ever had, and
there was a giant gatorunderneath the first tea box.
So it was it's kind of a coolthing for me, and I I would be
ecstatic to go back there.
I work with Kemper a bit too, sogetting back down there would be
really cool.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:56):
Um I fell in love
with Tom Doak.
SPEAKER_06 (01:04:59):
Yeah, uh Streamsong
is it's just a it's a special
spot.
They've got some really, reallygood golf.
Um, it's it's very isolate.
I'm I'm kind of a sucker forbeing off the grid a little bit.
Isolation, yeah.
Yeah, it's just you're away fromall the buzz.
SPEAKER_05 (01:05:15):
Um it's not the
destination, it's the journey.
SPEAKER_06 (01:05:18):
Yeah, and then being
there and not having anything
around.
It's just it's part of thereason I think I'm such a sucker
for like Dismal River.
Like going to Dismal River, youyou lose service a half hour
before you get there.
It's just it's crazy.
You're so isolated, and it'sjust Nebraska sandhills are a
trip.
Oh, oh yeah, you guys, it's it'scrazy.
Um, so there's another placethat sounds similar to that, and
(01:05:41):
I've talked to their their folksout in uh Gamble Sands.
Looks like that's my and and andpart of the reason I want to go
is because I've posted it beforeand people complain about how
how long it takes to get thereand how often the credit is now
there's nothing around it.
I'm like, that sounds perfect.
That's part of it.
That sounds unbelievable.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:59):
Yeah, it's like what
three hours from uh yeah, it's
not that far.
SPEAKER_06 (01:06:04):
People are just
complainers.
Okay now.
People just people just like tocomplain.
Um, you know, probably the samepeople that would rather go to
Florida and play in the middleof a residential neighborhood.
But uh yeah, I mean GambleSands, I've I'm pretty good
friends, sort of um, you know,Instagram friends.
They're they're marketing guys.
Name is Darren Bunch, and he'she's fantastic.
(01:06:26):
He he worked at Rams Hill beforethen, and he also works with um
Tobacco Road quite a bit.
Um that's another coursebangers.
Bangers, dude, and and Darren,Darren knows how to market.
He works with Brian, uh BrianOrr quite a bit too.
Yeah, uh, they're they'rethey're like very good friends,
and they played, they love to goout and play with Hickory clubs
(01:06:46):
all the time.
So they'll post I'm down, I'mdown.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (01:06:49):
So those are a
couple that are on my list.
Have you seen anything about Isaw something the other day,
Rams Hill, like another course?
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:57):
Yeah, McKid McClay
signed on to do it.
SPEAKER_05 (01:06:59):
Yeah, DMK DMK.
SPEAKER_06 (01:07:01):
Yep, I saw something
about that.
I don't know much about itthough.
SPEAKER_05 (01:07:04):
Dude, that would
make it a destination.
Like, okay, we're gonna go andwe're gonna play, you know.
Like I've played Rams Hill, super sick, great golf course.
SPEAKER_06 (01:07:14):
Well, and that's
what they need because they're
they are in the kind of themiddle of nowhere, but they they
need something else to make it amulti-day stay there.
SPEAKER_05 (01:07:21):
Is there what are
they borrago springs, which is
probably an hour, maybe two fromit's like an hour and a half,
two hours from San Diego, andlike an hour, hour and a half
from Palm Springs.
SPEAKER_06 (01:07:33):
So it's out there,
and there's there's nothing it's
tough to get someone to drive orgo that far for one round, you
know.
Um, but yeah, I mean if theycould if they could dial up
another sick course there, thenpeople are gonna be running.
SPEAKER_05 (01:07:46):
Yeah, I'm looking
forward to that for sure.
It's a day trip for us, youknow.
SPEAKER_06 (01:07:52):
Jeremy, to get back
to your question, uh yeah,
Bandon is still it's still onthe list.
I need to get to Bandon.
You need to get no, he hasn't.
SPEAKER_05 (01:08:02):
Oh we've talked
about this last time he was on.
What two years ago?
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:07):
You think I remember
every conversation?
SPEAKER_03 (01:08:09):
I I do, I remember
everything.
Hey, we have a book, we have atrip on the books for January
2027.
If if anyone backs out, I'llgive you a call.
We slip link deck.
SPEAKER_06 (01:08:21):
I I would hop on
that quickly.
Yeah, do you guys stay on sitewhen you're there, or how do you
what do you stay?
SPEAKER_03 (01:08:28):
Yeah, we will be.
SPEAKER_06 (01:08:29):
Stay on site.
SPEAKER_03 (01:08:29):
Yeah, Joe and these
guys have all stayed off site
though.
SPEAKER_05 (01:08:33):
Yeah, yeah.
Me and Dan's stay terrible.
Go, Dan.
SPEAKER_06 (01:08:36):
Have you guys played
that uh Bandon?
What's the course outside ofBandon Resort?
Bandon Crossings.
I've heard that's a greatwarm-up course.
I think we're gonna tend to dothat when we go.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:46):
It's yeah, it's it's
pretty freaking good.
SPEAKER_06 (01:08:49):
I've heard that,
yeah.
And it's it's right outside ofit and not associated with the
resort.
And right, I would say it's ait's a little bit of a breath of
fresh air just to be off resort.
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:58):
Have you heard of
bar run, Mike?
SPEAKER_05 (01:09:00):
Yeah, bar run, yep.
Okay, so bar run, the designerDan Hickson also designed Bannon
Crossings.
Oh, cool.
Bannon Crossings is wherecrossings are way better than
bar run.
Way better.
SPEAKER_06 (01:09:14):
Bar run might be
donating to our auction, though.
So if you want to go to bar.
SPEAKER_05 (01:09:20):
Yeah, and it's not
in the middle of nowhere either.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:22):
So still crossings
is a definite go play.
100%.
SPEAKER_06 (01:09:28):
What uh what course
would you equate it to on
property?
I've heard it.
It's kind of in the is it alittle bit in the woods?
Is it more like uh yeah?
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:35):
It's it's a it's
it's like the meadow section of
trails and the woods section oftrails.
SPEAKER_06 (01:09:40):
Yeah, that's what I
think.
It doesn't have any dunes, butthere's some you guys like
trails quite a bit, didn't you?
SPEAKER_05 (01:09:45):
Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:46):
Favorite course on
the planet.
SPEAKER_05 (01:09:47):
That's I think it's
really that I played it might be
the number one too now.
I think I think trails I wouldplay trails more.
I think the best design course, like the best golf architecture
nutso thing is pack dunes, butI'd probably pay play trails
over it if I was given one ortwo, you know.
SPEAKER_06 (01:10:08):
Wow, no ocean views
on trails, right?
Doesn't matter.
No, I know that's that's mypoint.
SPEAKER_03 (01:10:15):
Yeah, you can see
the ocean only from the hill on
14, yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (01:10:18):
Yeah, that's and
that's that's saying something.
I mean that's saying something.
That's a little bit similar,excuse me.
Um a little bit similar to myopinion of whistling straits
versus like Black Wolf Run.
SPEAKER_05 (01:10:32):
Yeah, yeah, that's
what I've heard.
SPEAKER_06 (01:10:34):
People are obsessed
with whistling straits because
it's right on the water, it'sright on the lake, it you know,
you get some crazy cool viewsand stuff.
But the uh the design at BlackWolf Run, the river course there
is it sounds similar to whatyou're describing at um trails.
SPEAKER_05 (01:10:49):
Yeah, yeah, it's
it's it tells a story, which
it's a fantastic story if you'venever read that book.
Like it's a book you need toread.
SPEAKER_06 (01:11:00):
I should read it
before I go.
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:02):
Yeah, just go.
SPEAKER_05 (01:11:04):
No, you know, you're
gonna start on number one T and
you're like, I've never readthis book, but I'm about to read
it.
And then when you finish, you'regonna be like, Um when you come
up on 18 and you finish, you'regonna be like, damn, that was a
great story.
Yeah, trails tell the storyabout it.
That's what trails is, that'swhat trails is.
SPEAKER_06 (01:11:25):
Yeah, and trails is
core and crenshaw, right?
Yes, sir.
Corn crenshaw in the woods,yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:30):
And it's funny
because I I tell these guys, and
I've told people before, I uhthe first core crenshaw I played
was Stream Song at Red, and Ihated that course.
And then I played Cabot Cliffs, and I hated that course.
SPEAKER_05 (01:11:44):
Don't don't take
Matt to Cabot Cliffs ever.
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:48):
Oh it just he'll be
miserable.
And so the first time I went toBandon and played trails, I'm
like, I'm gonna, I'm gonna hatethis course just because of Core
Crenshaw, and it's my favoritecourse I've ever played.
SPEAKER_06 (01:12:01):
Well, what did you
did?
You guys play the corn crenshawat Weekopah?
SPEAKER_02 (01:12:06):
Did you play
Seguaro?
Yeah, or did you play Choi Choi?
Oh shit.
SPEAKER_06 (01:12:11):
Corn Crenshaw
Weekopah special.
Dude, with that.
SPEAKER_05 (01:12:15):
Both courses are
very good, but when we were
there, I was like, I want toplay the core crenshaw, I want
to play the core crenshaw, likechoya's whatever, and then we
played Choi.
This shit is fucking sick.
SPEAKER_06 (01:12:25):
There's also two
foursoms uh for Weekle Pa in the
auction.
SPEAKER_04 (01:12:29):
Yeah, make it one.
Yeah, it's a lot closer tosecond swing, too.
SPEAKER_06 (01:12:35):
Yes, and I don't
think uh I think last year those
went for less than a thousand.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:42):
Really?
SPEAKER_06 (01:12:43):
Yeah, yeah, I'm
pretty sure they did.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:46):
Right right around
prices in golf right now.
It's insane.
SPEAKER_05 (01:12:52):
Also, do you guys
remember the the outside
services guy at Weekend Law?
Dude, that what was his name?
Dude, that dude was fantastic.
Did he give you a full historicrundown?
Oh, dude, he gave us likeevidence, and dude, he was the
best outside service guy that Ithink poster around here.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:12):
We tipped up, I
tipped him pretty good because
he was awesome.
SPEAKER_05 (01:13:15):
I think we all gave
him 20 bucks.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:17):
Yeah, and then we
gave him oh yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (01:13:20):
When that kind of an
experience starts your round,
you just know it's gonna beawesome, right?
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:25):
He was amazing.
SPEAKER_06 (01:13:26):
You go to the first
tee and someone runs you through
like a it doesn't have to beextensive, but when someone runs
you through a quick history, youknow, points out some cool
things, not just like you know, keep up face of play, like when
you get a cool thing like thatat the start of your round, like
he was like excited for us, hewas exactly excited, and when he
found out we were from Vegas,he's like, Oh, you know, and so
(01:13:46):
that just made it really hit itoff well.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:49):
That's awesome.
Well, we got anything else youwant to chat?
Do you do you Mike?
Did you watch any of theinternet invitational?
SPEAKER_06 (01:13:58):
Oh, I watched all of
it.
Uh I have opinions, I have a lotof opinions.
Okay, go.
Oh, 100%.
No doubt.
Thank you.
There is no doubt in my mind hecheated.
I don't know if you guys knowMelosi, I don't know him at all.
Um, but I mean it's prettydamning as far as the video
ends.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:16):
But I I sent message
because he was the one that I
know that was watching it, and Isaid, This will end Melosi.
SPEAKER_05 (01:14:23):
Yeah, and I was
like, what the f are you talking
about?
SPEAKER_06 (01:14:25):
Yeah, I mean, I
unfortunately well,
unfortunately or unfortunately,I think he's getting more clicks
now because of it.
But I thought Luke, I mean, theday before, what's his name?
Who I also am not a huge fan ofMicah um called him out and he's
like, dude, you're seven yardsless than what I'm shooting at
the same distance.
And he denied it, and it wasjust kind of overlooked.
SPEAKER_05 (01:14:46):
But Micah was in the
cart and Melosi was on the box.
SPEAKER_06 (01:14:49):
Okay, well, in
hindsight, though, looking at
all of the evidence, it's prettydamning.
Um the thing that annoyed memore though, and I became less
and less of a fan of her as thewhole episode went on, is Paige
Goranic just looks miserable tobe around.
SPEAKER_05 (01:15:04):
That's the thing,
right?
That's what's she just looksmiserable to be around.
Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_06 (01:15:13):
Yeah, it's chatter.
SPEAKER_04 (01:15:15):
How dare you look at
my titties?
SPEAKER_06 (01:15:17):
Yeah.
Well, and then she's tellingpeople, like, well, I can tell
you you don't play professionalgolf, but then she doesn't know
that you can't improve your linein the festival.
Exactly.
SPEAKER_05 (01:15:25):
And that's the
shitty thing, is like her.
And then started at least hisown.
And then started crying what shedid.
SPEAKER_04 (01:15:32):
Anything else you
can accuse me of cheating about?
SPEAKER_06 (01:15:35):
Yeah, no, I think
the funniest part, and this is
this is maybe a little shallowbecause I'm not a big fan of
her, but um, I love Bob from thesports.
And he was on the green when shestarted sobbing, and he uh she
clearly like moved into him tolike get comforted by him, and
he like naturally like just anatural reaction, just like
stepped away, like it was sofunny.
(01:15:56):
Um, but yeah, I just those werethe two big things I got kind of
annoyed by.
And Melosi seems like agenuinely nice like person.
That's what I've heard from someall things.
I mean, if you look ateverything, like it doesn't look
great for him.
SPEAKER_05 (01:16:10):
It does not look
great for him for sure.
And we've all seen the clips onInstagram and like the Bushnell,
like well.
I mean, he very clearly like hepushed it.
Yeah, but I would say I wouldsay slope is not the hugest
issue in the world, improvinglies is way worse.
Oh, it's way worse, yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (01:16:31):
But he also knew
like you shouldn't you're not
allowed to use slope, and he hadbeen told that multiple times,
and then Florida denied doing ittotally on camera.
SPEAKER_05 (01:16:40):
Like the page thing,
and I wish we had better like
footage of it.
Like that, I think that was somuch worse.
And dude, there's a video.
SPEAKER_06 (01:16:49):
I don't know if you
saw it.
There's one video where you geta very kind of acute angle where
she's in like the top rightcorner of the video, and you can
see her with her foot likebasically yes, exactly.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dan, you can see basically she'slike zambonying the stuff behind
the ball.
I mean, it's not even close tooh, I didn't know you could do
(01:17:11):
that.
Like, that's the that's whyfescue is a hazard.
SPEAKER_05 (01:17:16):
One thing, one thing
that I said was is um when Matt,
after I watched, I was like, isit possible that somebody from
the Barstool team went up to hisrange finder and clicked it the
other way to incite the drama, right?
Because they want the drama,right?
SPEAKER_06 (01:17:36):
That that is
possible, and I thought that
about the Kwan thing.
I thought maybe they just toldhim to sleep in to create the
drama, but actually bar barstoolis I mean, bar stools that's
what they make money on, right?
Is drama.
SPEAKER_05 (01:17:49):
Yeah, we're all
talking about it.
SPEAKER_06 (01:17:50):
We're yeah, we're
all talking about it, we're all
talking about it.
And I don't think that's out ofthe question.
Is would they have done that?
I I wouldn't say absolutely not,you know.
SPEAKER_05 (01:17:59):
The the thing that
makes me think that's possible
is that they tried to make theRoger Steele um drama like he
was a dick that day to talkabout a gay guy.
SPEAKER_06 (01:18:11):
Yeah, yeah, you
know, like he was and he I know
that Roger's a really nice guy.
I dude, he's actually like avery nice person, he's solid.
Um, yeah.
I mean, on a lighter note, though I lost my shit on
watching the last round withwith Beef and stuff.
Oh my god, what a story thatwas! And he was actually before
he went to Barstool, he was theclub pro at um a place called
(01:18:33):
Thornberry Creek in Green Bay inWisconsin.
SPEAKER_01 (01:18:36):
He was here, he
worked here in Vegas too.
SPEAKER_06 (01:18:38):
Oh, what a what a
perfect human being.
Like, you want to teach kids howto be a good human being.
Like, oh my god.
He loves the game.
And the best part, well, thebest and the the most telling
part is he wasn't that good atthe game, but he loved teaching
it.
And he was probably a fantasticteacher.
Yeah, he just taught people thebasics of the golf swing.
(01:18:59):
He was excited to teach him.
I mean, you can see every poevery post about him on you
know, anyone who knew him islike this person was beef, was a
stand-up human being.
Um, I mean, Bob asks him, like, what are you gonna do with this
money?
You know, yeah, 99% of theseinfluencers are not gonna say
what he said.
Yeah, I'm gonna pay off myparents' house and donate it to
charity.
(01:19:19):
Like, yeah.
Wow, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, I mean, just an unbelievablehuman being.
They could, I mean, they didn'tset that up for sure, and that's
it couldn't have been writtenbetter.
SPEAKER_01 (01:19:32):
What do you think
was good about it?
We could always everybody canalways talk about the shit that
causes everybody to talk thetalking points, but what did you
what did you like about it?
SPEAKER_06 (01:19:41):
Just the event in
general, yeah.
I I I thought it wasentertaining.
I mean, it was certainlyrelatable, right?
I mean, these guys outside of umuh what's his name?
Uh the the stick, um BradDonkey, yeah.
I mean, I don't even know howyou can consider him an amateur.
Oh, he was fantastic.
He was I mean, the guy played inthe masters.
(01:20:02):
Like, I don't know how they canconsider really consider him an
amateur, yeah.
Um, but outside of him, likepeople were hitting bad shots,
people were topping balls, likeit was relatable, and I think
that's horrible.
Yeah, oh, the putting was realbad.
I yeah, it was it there's somereal bad putting.
Um, and I love how when theyplayed uh the par three, they
were all talking like the greenswere trash, and that's why the
(01:20:24):
putting was bad.
Like all the players were, andit's like, no, those greens are
true.
You guys are not gonna put it.
SPEAKER_05 (01:20:29):
They just break the
shit then, you know.
SPEAKER_06 (01:20:31):
Yeah, yeah.
But no, I thought that was good, and I think that's why people
liked it.
Um, and I think people reallyenjoyed like the non-golf like
commentary because that's howyou talk on the course with your
friends, and that's how youthat's how that's why people
enjoy the game.
Um, you know, I thought it was acreative setup.
I thought they did a good jobwith that.
Uh say what you want aboutBarstool, but they know how to
(01:20:53):
produce.
This is probably the best, thebest production of you know,
non-professional golf I've everseen.
SPEAKER_01 (01:20:59):
Out of all these
social media influencer golf
things, this one blew all theother ones away.
Even the one that they havebefore the the players
championship where they had thenine creator classic.
SPEAKER_06 (01:21:15):
Well, that was all
PGA tour driven, yeah.
Yeah, yep.
So they interviewed Bob um aboutthat, and he he essentially
said, like, we asked to helpproduce that, and the PJ Tour
said no.
They basically just handcuffedthem and put them out on the
course and gave them a you knowa grill for winning or
something.
Yeah, but I mean that was Ithink we talked about this in a
prior pod, but like that wasjust a PGA tour seeing YouTube
(01:21:39):
golf going off and trying to geta piece of it.
SPEAKER_05 (01:21:41):
Yep.
Somebody is somebody saidsomething today, but I just want
to say real quick before Iforget, like, I think one of the
biggest winners of that entirething is Chaz.
Chaz 100.
Yep, one I didn't mentionwinners.
SPEAKER_06 (01:21:56):
What a what a again,
an awesome human being and and a
stick.
Exactly.
It's really good.
SPEAKER_05 (01:22:01):
Yeah, but um,
somebody, somebody, I forget who
it was, but they were like, letBob does sports and barstool
produce a PGA tour event.
SPEAKER_06 (01:22:14):
It's gonna you
imagine that the commentary
would be so good.
Oh, no, they're so funny.
Yeah, they well, they're gonnasee the I mean they're gonna
make a ton of money on this.
You saw the views, they'reknocking everything out of the
park for views.
I mean, this is a three-hourproduction that they have 30
million views on in like twoweeks.
SPEAKER_05 (01:22:32):
Well, dude, I was
like, Oh, the first episode four
hours, four hours.
I'm not watching this wholething, I watched the whole
thing, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (01:22:39):
Oh, I sat through
it, I was like, Oh god, now I
have to wait for the second one.
Yeah, it was it was unbelievablygood.
SPEAKER_01 (01:22:46):
I thought that's
been a big YouTube golf.
Yeah, we got mad up in there, mad up got up in there.
I haven't been, but Joe said itwas good.
I said, Okay, Joe thinks it'sgood, I'm gonna watch it.
And I was hooked.
SPEAKER_05 (01:22:57):
I was hooked because
you can trust what I say.
SPEAKER_06 (01:23:01):
Um, and what a what
an opportunity for big cedar.
SPEAKER_05 (01:23:06):
100%.
It's yeah, I I gotta, I gottaget it.
I we I mean, we've been sayingit for years, we gotta get up
there, but um I want to justtake like a week, everybody
takes the week off, you know, and we all go get our own house,
and then all the homies go andbring the whole family, and then
when you can play, you can play, you know what I mean?
Like we gotta do that one ofthese days, like just get a
(01:23:30):
bunch of people because it theplace looks incredible.
SPEAKER_06 (01:23:34):
It looks even the
the par three.
SPEAKER_01 (01:23:37):
Um sorry, a little
VGN news right here.
SPEAKER_06 (01:23:40):
Oh, there we go.
SPEAKER_01 (01:23:42):
There we go.
SPEAKER_06 (01:23:43):
Shout out to Vegas.
Yeah, hey, look at that.
That's awesome.
SPEAKER_03 (01:23:48):
Thanks, Marstool.
SPEAKER_06 (01:23:49):
Yeah, thank you.
Appreciate your freeadvertisement.
SPEAKER_05 (01:23:52):
Yeah, thanks,
Portnoy.
I appreciate you.
SPEAKER_06 (01:23:56):
Yeah, but no, you'd
have to spend several several
days at uh Big Cedar becausethat that place just looks so
much.
Oh, place smack at bar three, you like hit out of a cave
through a waterfall.
SPEAKER_03 (01:24:09):
Through the
waterfall, that was nuts.
SPEAKER_05 (01:24:11):
I mean, it's a
little Disneyland y, but it's
like something you need toexperience.
It's interesting.
SPEAKER_06 (01:24:16):
And I think that's
only one or their you know, one
of their courses.
SPEAKER_05 (01:24:20):
I think like Paines
Valley and um those are Pain's
Valley's tiger tiger, like firsttiger design public course, I
believe, right?
Pain's Valley.
Yep.
And I think those are thecourses, you know.
SPEAKER_06 (01:24:33):
Yep, yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (01:24:35):
Yeah, Top of the
Rock too, too, right?
SPEAKER_06 (01:24:38):
Yep, that was their
original par three, I think.
SPEAKER_05 (01:24:41):
Yeah, that was like
Cliffhangers, they played
Cliffhangers.
They played Cliffhangers, theydidn't play Top of the Rock, but
Top of the Rock is the originalpart three course.
Jack Nicholas, I believe.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:55):
Dude, it's crazy.
I just looked at the clock, Iwas expecting it to be 10:30.
It's eight.
I love it.
SPEAKER_05 (01:25:00):
I know.
SPEAKER_01 (01:25:01):
I'm excited about
this.
I can edit and go to bed at adecent time.
Woohoo!
SPEAKER_05 (01:25:06):
Kids are gonna be
out of the bath.
All I gotta do is eat eatdinner.
There you go.
SPEAKER_01 (01:25:11):
Well, Mike, thanks
so much for coming on again.
We love having you on.
SPEAKER_06 (01:25:14):
Hey, it's always a
blast, fellas.
I appreciate it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:25:16):
We'll be promoting
the hell of the uh the the hell
