Jason (00:34):
This episode is brought
to you by Trophyai.
We discuss all things in thesim racing world.
I'm your host, jason Rivera, and I'm joined here by Mr Eric
Kelly and Jeff Smart.
How's everybody doing this week?
Erick (00:45):
here by Mr Eric Kelly and
Jeff Smart.
How's everybody doing this week?
Doing good man, another week.
Another week closer to the SimRacing or Sim Gaming Expo In the
best month still, in May.
Jeff (00:54):
Doing good man.
Yeah, I saw, we just crossedover.
Just by the time this airs, Ithink, 93 days.
Not that we're counting, no, no.
But dude, hey, gentlemen, dude,we had a banger of a week for
motorsports, which, oh yeah,I'll get into here shortly.
But yeah, I mean like just tonsof action going on in the
motorsports all right, man.
Jason (01:13):
So that's what's up.
Man, so it.
It has been a quite a week thisweek, man, I'll tell you and I
need to open up with.
I'm gonna open up with aconfession here, live on the
show.
The guys don't know about thisand I'm not too sure if my head
is in the right spot right now, because I'm about to say this
live on a TV you know, chicaneTV.
Erick (01:38):
Ain't no cuts, so
yesterday.
Jason (01:40):
I'm telling you, man.
So yesterday I had a racescheduled with Global Racing
League and it was the BMW race, and I was in a rush, I was
taking care of some stuff, I wasdoing some work on the computer
and my little chihuahua wasjust roaming the house just
carefree.
No responsibilities, no,nothing, no bill paying.
(02:02):
She'd do whatever she want, she'd get away with it.
She's at that age where thedollars just get away with it.
Freeloading, yeah, oh yeah, ahundred percent.
So then I'm getting ready forthe race and I usually put her
in the room, you know, so she'snot barking and everything, and
she usually just hang out untilI'm done, and then I go and grab
her.
So I put her in the room, I goand grab her, so I put her in
(02:28):
the room and I walked over tothe rig and, as you can see, I
usually race in this type oflighting, this kind of moody
environment, so you don't reallysee much.
So I'm racing and as soon as Iget on the brakes it felt weird.
I was like it's something goingon with my active pedal and it
felt mushy or something likethat.
So then, alright, so I did therace, had a great time.
(02:52):
When I'm getting off the rigand I'm turning all the lights
on, I see dog poo on the floor.
Oh my god Bro.
Erick (03:06):
Oh my God, oh dude,
that's worse than I thought.
Jeff (03:11):
Way worse than I thought.
Erick (03:12):
That's worse.
Jason (03:13):
I saw a dog poo and the
active petals and everything
back.
There is dark right.
Jeff (03:20):
Bro I shine a light.
Did you kill the dog?
Jason (03:25):
The dog's breathing.
Okay, I shine a light.
Did you kill the dog?
The dog's breathing, okay.
Okay, I shine a light andthere's dog freaking.
What do you call this Waste?
all over my freaking activepedal and everything.
It's all over the place and I'mspraying it and I'm cleaning it
and there's shit goingeverywhere.
(03:45):
Just particles of shit aregoing everywhere.
So that's kind of how my weekstarted, bro.
Bro, that's a shitty start tothe week, I know, and it was
extra fresh.
That dog knew exactly what shewas doing.
She's like alright man, youwant to lock me up?
Alright man.
So I'm going to drop this righthere for you, don't worry about
(04:07):
it.
Jeff (04:07):
Because you're not looking
.
That's a shitty situation.
Jason (04:12):
I knew my lap times were
off, but damn bro.
Erick (04:16):
So you didn't know they
were that shitty huh.
Jason (04:21):
I had some dampening
going on is what I had.
Erick (04:25):
That's crazy.
So the pedals survived.
Jason (04:28):
The pedals are okay.
The pedals got some.
What is it?
Some super green or some basicgreen?
Some green and yeah Some simplegreen and an old toothbrush
because I had to get all insidethe grooves and they had shit
planted in there.
Jeff (04:43):
And, like our listeners,
should know how meticulous Jason
is with his gear.
I can just see him.
I was eating at him inside ashe was underneath there.
Knees are all getting sore fromcrouching down.
Your fingers are all funny.
I can just imagine you steaming.
Jason (05:02):
The neighbors thought
that I was about to get a
divorce because they thoughtthey heard all the curses going
on in the house.
They thought what are theyfighting about?
She's not even home.
Erick (05:14):
Look, I know that pedal
is cleaner than it's ever been.
Jason (05:17):
Oh yeah, that thing is a
factory brand new.
It smells good, it's cleanerthan that.
Erick (05:22):
It's cleaner than factory
brand new right now.
I know it is.
Jason (05:26):
I can't believe, bro.
I could not believe that I putshit on my thousands plus dog
shit.
Erick (05:35):
That's crazy man.
Jason (05:36):
Dog shit, bro Dog shit.
So yeah, it's been a good week,I guess.
Erick (05:44):
On the bright side of the
week.
It only gets better from thatman.
Jason (05:46):
I know, hopefully that's
the worst thing, but how was
your week, eric man?
What's going on over there?
Erick (05:54):
Man.
So my week was good, greatactually.
I kind of got my rig to a pointwhere I kind of have things in
the place where I want them.
So I got to tinker on the rigsome more and I had my first
visitor to use my rig.
Jason (06:11):
Uh-oh.
Erick (06:12):
Yeah so Say more It's-.
Jason (06:16):
You didn't put them in an
official race, did you?
Erick (06:18):
No, no, no.
Test drive Practice practiceyeah, put him in.
I raced him a little bit umshowed him the set of Corso Evo,
um what else?
Who?
Jason (06:32):
was this some of the
original?
Erick (06:33):
uh, so he so he's the
husband of my oldest, uh,
godmother, so a family friend.
Like they were all over, um,they came over Sunday evening.
Jason (06:45):
So he's never been in a
rig before, is what you're
saying?
Erick (06:48):
Never been in a rig.
He's seen pictures of it, justbecause we kind of talk tech
sometimes stuff like that, andhe's in the cars.
He used to have a Mustang thathe modded and he's got an Audi
and stuff.
So he's generally interestedwatches Drive to Survive.
He was messaging me about thattoday, so he's.
You know I'm not pushing himbut I'm presenting him the path.
(07:10):
Yes, down this road You'repreaching to him yeah.
I'm preaching.
Jason (07:15):
Tell him to subscribe to
the Cicada Podcast.
Erick (07:19):
Oh, yeah, he subscribed.
Oh, okay, he watches someepisodes.
And it was kind of weirdbecause I was nervous with him
being in there, Because this islike my baby, like it's my thing
, it's very, very personal to me.
And so that was my first timehaving somebody else in it.
Jason (07:40):
It's weird, right, when
you see someone using it.
Yeah.
Erick (07:44):
And you don't want them
moving the seat.
Jason (07:46):
You don't want them-.
Erick (07:49):
So it's weird because and
you guys can tell me if this is
how you feel, and just probablythe first time I'm just kind of
nervous what he'll think, because to me I know how much I
enjoy being in it, but whenyou're kind of sharing it with
somebody for the first time, Idon't just kind of, you know,
it's exciting.
Yeah, is this weird that I'm soexcited about?
Jason (08:11):
it.
No, no, no, no, it's exciting.
Erick (08:12):
And stuff like that.
That's why, when Jeff came over.
Jason (08:14):
I always tell him jump in
the rig, bro, tell me, because
you don't have anybody givingyou feedback.
You know yeah you feedback.
You know you're, you're givingyourself feedback based on what
you know.
That's a very good valid point, man, because you have somebody
come in and they, they test it.
Jeff (08:32):
Um, it's a good feeling.
Yeah, eric, I know.
So, first of all, I got two, two, a question.
A statement for you is firstcorner.
Did they go off?
Erick (08:42):
So so I was very what's
him, what's him?
So this was so.
The first one I put him in wasiRacing okay and iRacing and the
Porsche Porsche GT3 oh bro, what are you trying to do?
so the Porsche is easier thanthe BMW, like we already talked
(09:02):
about that, and he actually didvery well.
So he didn't, so not afraid touse the brake, so this?
So these are two things that Iimmediately noticed.
Looking at his traces, he ittook him a while to go full
throttle and uh-huh yes, henever did 100 percent break like
I was telling him maybe 40-50%brake.
(09:25):
So he was taking it very slowand to me that means he felt
that kind of fear or theconnection with the car.
Jason (09:39):
I feel like I'm on edge,
so I shouldn't Exactly.
Erick (09:43):
He didn't treat it like a
video game, like he was nervous
because I think also that washis first time feeling that
torque as well.
And so when he felt it kind ofdial in, he's like oh, like I'm,
this ain't a toy.
Jason (09:55):
Yeah, this ain't a toy,
this feels serious man, Merrick,
you laying down the torque inyour house.
Erick (09:58):
Man, I see you, bro, I
see hey if you're not laying
down to talk in your house, somebody will, bro.
Rob Markman Jr.
Somebody will Rob Markman Jr.
It's going to be me, bro.
It's going to be me, robMarkman Jr.
Jason (10:07):
Well it's the same thing.
I had the same experience withJeff, because when Jeff came
over I was super excited to seewhat her reaction would be like,
and I think Jeff had a friendvisit him and then we had that
person come over, right, and we-.
Jeff (10:23):
Oh yeah, my buddy here,
alex.
Jason (10:24):
Yeah, yeah, alex, we put
Alex in there and then we were
both watching him likemonitoring what he was doing.
Erick (10:32):
The guy's a big dude,
though that's the only thing.
Yeah, he's like 6'10".
Jason (10:34):
He's like eight feet tall
or something like that.
Oh wow, yeah bro.
Erick (10:38):
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Jason (10:39):
I look small next to this
guy.
Jeff (10:40):
I mean, everybody looks
small next to him, so yeah All
right.
Jason (10:47):
Well, that's, that's a
good experience.
Oh, wait, wait, so finish, man.
What did he say?
Erick (10:53):
Oh yeah.
So so not trying to be tooweird about it, but just kind of
ask him like how he felt andtell him about some upgrades I
was looking to make and Imentioned triple screens and he
was like I couldn't imagine itwith triple screens because I
was already so immersed already.
I felt like I was in a caralready and having three screens
(11:15):
that would be crazy.
So that kind of made me feelgood that somebody thought they
were in a real car.
Jason (11:21):
in my read I mean we all
start with single screens.
That's a reality, Unless youknow that you're going in the
deep end with this hobby and yougo straight in.
But I want to say 90% of usstarted on a single screen
Because 90% of us came on aconsole and a console only
support one screen anyway.
(11:44):
So you're going in the hobbywith that mentality like I just
need a nice screen, right ascreen and then I started with a
32 inch, like led lcd tv yeahoh yeah, there you go yeah, you
gotta start somewhere, oh butthat was really quick, though,
jeff, that you, you didn't haveto add that I was going to say
(12:04):
Jeff, you kind of got on arocket ship.
Erick (12:06):
You got a little taste.
Jeff (12:07):
I got friends with Jason.
He was on our team.
Bro, yeah, you're in proximity.
Jason (12:12):
All day on our teams
looking up monitors Like what do
you think about this one?
I would get a different linkevery other day.
What do you think about thatone?
Erick (12:22):
That's awesome.
Jason (12:27):
Yeah, that's awesome.
Yeah, if I live closer to jasonI, I definitely have some other
problems.
Erick (12:30):
Yeah, man, it's not a
hazard not having enough rig.
Jeff (12:31):
It's a hazard to the bank
account.
Jason (12:32):
Well, you have access to
my rig man, I'll give you a
hundred percent.
Jeff (12:36):
Dude, you have absolutely
kind of you know, tell me where
I could shave.
You know, hey, save here so youcan spend here.
Um, I, I have zero complaintsof anything I have purchased.
It was good advice, greatadvice, and I think, you
articulated it perfectly in kindof something like the first 10
episodes.
We kind of covered this stuff.
So if you're trying to get backinto it as long as it's for you
(12:59):
, right?
Jason (12:59):
Because spending this
amount of money, it's got to
click.
It's got to click a little bitand if you get that initial
click, then you'll know, trustme right away, that adding more
is going to you're going to makeit love it even more.
It's not like I've never hearda case where somebody added an
upgrade and said this is toomuch, never, never, ever.
(13:23):
As a matter of fact, as soon asthe new stuff comes in, they're
looking at what to buy next.
Erick (13:32):
It's a rabbit hole for
sure.
I'll say to your point wetalked about it before the cry.
Once thing you do have to comein at a certain level to get the
foundation.
Jason (13:42):
Absolutely.
If you don't do that, then forme, for years I had to look at a
lot of level to get thefoundation Absolutely yes.
Erick (13:46):
If you don't do that,
then, like for me for years, you
don't have to look at a lot oftech in a chair at a desk and I
kind of would play with it alittle bit.
I wasn't hooked.
I was interested but I wasn'tlike addicted and once I got
this and I could feel just whatI was missing and it's hard to
describe.
Jason (14:06):
I'll give you an example,
bro.
Let's say we all went out right, which we will in Chicago, If
you guys want to hang out withus, we'll be there in September.
But let's say we all went out.
Eric came out of Hawaii andjust an example Eric has never
had sushi, for example, and Itake him to the cheapest
(14:28):
freaking sushi place ever and hetries it 7-Eleven over here.
Jeff (14:32):
Oh yeah, That'll do it.
Jason (14:35):
And he's like this is
nasty.
And then maybe Jeff is like asushi expert and he's like bro,
that's not sushi, you don't knowsushi.
But now, since he had thatinitial bite of not sushi, you
don't know sushi.
But now, since he had thatinitial bite of bad suit, he has
that bad taste in his mouthabout what it is literally.
So you can kind of relate thatto sim racing.
Right, there's yeah there's uh,there's a certain level with it,
(14:59):
right, it's a sport.
If you like racing, if you likeracing just by liking the sport
of racing, it doesn't matterwhat it is indycar, indy 500
just happened, um as well.
Formula, whatever it is, gt,then you're already at a 50
chance that that this hobby isgoing to jive with you, right?
(15:20):
It's going to, it's going toclick with you, and then you add
something realistic that'llmake you feel like you're
controlling a vehicle.
Then that's where you make thatconnection.
But just as an example, withsushi, right, because sushi is a
very delicate thing, it's avery delicate dish, and if you
(15:40):
go somewhere and they don't doit, right-.
Erick (15:43):
Yeah, it's very easy to-.
Jason (15:45):
You ruin it To have a bad
experience.
Yeah.
Erick (15:47):
You need somebody to kind
of shepherd you into sushi, who
knows what they're doing.
Jason (15:52):
Yeah, yeah.
And that's the problem.
Sometimes with sushi you starthigh end and you can never come
back down oh yeah, and that'sexpensive bro.
Jeff (16:02):
But enough about sushi,
Jeff how was your week, boss,
dude?
I had the week was the week, but let's talk about the week
this past week bro, you can'tbeat me.
I had shit on my damn it's onlyup from there, man um, I did not
have a quote-unquote shittyweek Dad jokes for days.
(16:24):
So, dude, this was arguably thebest motorsport weekend of the
year.
Two of the biggest motorsportsleagues or associations, I don't
know what you call them hadarguably one of their biggest
events of the week on the sameweekend.
So F1, biggest events of theweek on the same weekend.
(16:48):
Uh, so f1.
We had monaco, you know, astaple of the f1 uh schedule
year-round, you know, probablyone of the most.
You know, like, when you thinkof you think of monaco.
And then indy or, excuse me, uh, indycar was at indianapolis,
you know, are what they say, the, what the greatest motorsport
event in his, you know in theworld, or whatever.
Um, so I feel like we'd be remremiss if we didn't talk about
the scandal at the Indianapolis500 this past week, because it
(17:10):
is mind-blowing.
So I mean, listen, if you guysdidn't hear about this, let me
dig into this because this issuper interesting stuff.
So it revolves around TeamPenske, more or less, and I'm
probably I'm going to get like99% is right.
There might be I might leaveout a little bit, but this is
going to be the truth.
So team Penske, the owner ofteam Penske, which has two cars,
(17:34):
is also the same owner of theIndianapolis speed motor
speedway, which I think we'llhear about later is the same
person who owns the indiecircuit or I'm using the wrong
term here but owns the, you knowthe indie brand, or the, the,
the circuit, all the stops, allthe gps yeah wow.
(17:57):
So everybody's like how can yoube an owner and the president?
It's like, imagine if, likechristian horner, the, the, the,
the general manager of red bolt, was also the principal f you
write your own rules, right yeah?
so listen to this.
So on saturday I think it wasthe all the cars after
qualifying which is interestinggo into, uh, you know, spec to
(18:19):
make sure they're meeting thespecs inspections, um, you know
all of the things.
So indycar, unlike uh, formula, formula you can like they have
like general guidelines and thenyou just have to, like you can
do technology and you know, andmake things lighter, more
dynamic.
Indycar not at all like that.
You get the car from I'm gonnamispronounce but delore, delore,
(18:39):
uh, delores, from I forgetwhere who makes the car, but you
get it and that's it.
You just get it.
It's really like a driver'sdrive and how you set up the car
with camber and weight, veryspec racing yeah it is what it
is, as is you have to just driveit.
(19:01):
It's a driver.
How you set up the wheel set upso the Penske car fails tech
inspection.
Because what happened is therear wing gets bolted on with
very specific bolts.
Because what happened in thepast was the cars would come
around the corner back, they'lllose the back end and go into
(19:23):
the wall and the back end of thecar because it was a solid
piece would go into the driverand paralyze the driver like
this is.
This is why they use specificbolts so it breaks away and the
car is.
Think of it as a crumple zone, right.
So these guys, because thesecars are going like 230 miles an
hour for like four hours, 500miles, right, what they decided
(19:48):
to do is overlap them and boltthem, but then they welded them
smooth to be more aerodynamic ohyeah so first things first is
you can't weld it because ofsafety, like yeah, if you crash,
the dude's gonna have, likethis, carbon rod, basically
right into his spine okay that'sthe safety portion of this,
(20:09):
which is a huge foul.
Yeah, then you address thecheating portion, because you
made it more aerodynamic well, that was the perfect excuse to
do something like that so, dude, this has layers on layers, so
let's back up a year.
Last year the penske car won theindy 500.
They went that car goes on theindy 500 museum in the motor
(20:32):
speedway.
They went and looked at thatcar, oh no, and it had the
welding on it oh, that's crazybro, listen to this president.
Who's the owner of Penske thatgot caught?
Cheating was like it's only a10-place grid penalty.
Jason (20:50):
Oh, of course, Bro.
Jeff (20:51):
you just cheated in the
Indy 500, and you're handing
down the simple slap on thewrist, yeah, because conflict of
interest.
And all of a sudden they'relike oh, did I say 10 place grid
penalty?
I'm sorry, I mispronounced backof the grid.
(21:12):
Oh so he like changed tunes, whatever all this other stuff.
Jason (21:17):
Oh, they got this guy in
the corner, bro, oh it was so
like if you, if you go.
Jeff (21:22):
So they did tech
inspection and then they start
qualifying and once that starts, you can't touch the car.
It's like F1.
What do they call it?
Was it Parformé?
Parformé you can't touch thecar.
The Penske crew was like Idon't give a shit.
And they took edge grinders andthey're trying to grind the
wheels off.
Jason (21:40):
This thing and, like CBS
or NBC, is like sitting there in
4k watching them take the shitthat they broke the rules oh my
god bro disaster but I'll tellyou, milwaukee's probably gonna
come out with a commercial on it.
Right, it can cut them offfaster.
So this is all fuel before therace starts um.
Jeff (22:01):
So, zach brown, the owner
of the, I think the owner of the
mclaren f1 team, not the ownerof mclaren, but the, he's, you
know the ceo, uh, hugemotorsport guy, but he said, hey
, if we don't qualify in ummonaco on saturday, which is
friday here in, he was gonna flyback yeah he was like, screw
(22:23):
this, I'm going to watch theindy 500, I'm gonna take my
private jet and I'll see y'alllike like max or not max.
But uh, lando and piasci, goodluck, we'll see you monday.
So, anyways, they qualify onein three, right, and so he stays
.
But this is just to go show youlike how big the indy 500 is.
So, um, I watched a little ofthe 500 and I think F1 could
(22:46):
take some tips from it.
When they show, like, on adriver in the cockpit, jason,
they show how much they got alittle logo of how much battery
they have left in the car, causethey're they have the, the
hybrid motor as well.
Jason (22:59):
Okay, like a graph yeah.
Jeff (23:01):
And you can see when
they're charging and it goes
back up.
Super cool.
Also, I still need to watch it.
I haven't watched it, man.
Like a graph, yeah, and you cansee when they're charging and
it goes back up super cool.
Jason (23:05):
Um, also, I need, I still
need to watch it.
I haven't watched it, man theyalso.
Jeff (23:08):
The driver has the ability
.
It's not so much important onthe indy 500 because they're
just turning left, right, but hehas weight transfer in his, on
his wheel.
So if he's going around a leftturn he moves the weight inside.
He presses a button and ittightens the coils, puts more
weight on the inside.
So Trent, dude, and they'redoing this, you know, back and
(23:28):
forth, back and forth.
And then they said that on astreet course they what is?
I think it's camber, where thetires are pointed in and out.
Yes, you know, so at a streetcourse they'll point them out,
uh, out, right, so it turnsbetter.
But on the Indy 500, they turnthem both going this way.
So as it goes around the corner, it makes sense yeah.
(23:49):
It was just like superinteresting stuff that I never
thought of.
Um, but for the race, like itwas wild, there's this dude
McLaughlin.
He drives uh, I forget what carhe drives this dude.
You know how they do theswerving on the warm-up laps,
the parade lap to warm up thetires.
Bro loses it and goes into thewall.
Jason (24:07):
Oh, bro, not even lap one
.
Yeah, dude, not even lap one.
He was pissed, bro.
He got out of the car.
Jeff (24:15):
He was like this is a big
deal, those drivers.
He was like grown-ass man wascrying, oh man was crying oh
yeah, yeah, so, uh.
So they had that crash beforethe race started.
Embarrassing bro, that's what, probably why, he was really
crying right oh yeah, yeah.
So there were two crashes in pitlane that didn't even involve
other cars, what?
This dude comes through the pitlane and I guess, like, if
(24:37):
you're driving on the indy 500,like very few times are you
touching the brake, you knowyou're probably just lifting off
the gas.
He comes through the pit lane,he's like I ain't got no brakes
and just slams it into the wall.
And another guy just comes inway too hot into his pit and you
know, thank god nobody got hurt, but no kidding, like slams
(24:57):
into the wall as the dudes areon a knee to hit the, you know,
hit the wheels and takes out hiswhole team.
I don't think anybody got hurt.
Everybody got up and did thepit stop.
They like lifted the car andshoot it on the wall and then
did the pit stop, dude.
Jason (25:11):
I'm going to have to go
back and watch this man.
Jeff (25:13):
Yeah, you can do like just
the highlights on YouTube.
And it was a spectacle, butanyways, this dude, Alex I'm
going to butcher his name, Palouwon the Indy 500.
And, gentlemen, drinks are onthis guy to the tune of $3.8
million for winning the Indy 500.
Jason (25:32):
What oh wow.
Jeff (25:35):
There was a purse of $20.2
million spread across the field
.
Wow, okay, indy.
Erick (25:41):
I see you, I see you All
right, we're going to have to
start.
Okay, indy, I see you, I seeyou.
Jason (25:44):
All right, we're going to
have to start training for the
Indy.
Jeff (25:46):
So let's say this this is
it.
The Indy 500 took the cake whenit came to F1.
F1 at Monaco is a dumpster fire.
We're not.
I don't need to get into it.
We can get into it if you wantto.
Jason (25:58):
Dumpster fire.
Jeff (25:59):
I watched three hours at
F1 at Monaco.
I watched 73 parade laps aroundthe track.
The formation lap I already didit in formation.
Jason (26:09):
Yeah, I got to agree with
Jeff.
You know what it is.
I don't like the track ofMonaco, but it's so iconic,
right.
Jeff (26:17):
You're right.
Jason (26:18):
It's just part of history
.
Erick (26:20):
Yeah.
Jason (26:21):
But as a racetrack it's
terrible.
Jeff (26:24):
I mean people were slowing
down, like on purpose they were
doing yeah like Alex Albon wasdoing like 10 seconds off his
qualifying time just so histeammate could pull away Like I
get it why they do it.
It's just not good for thesport.
Jason (26:37):
Like I understand it
Right, those are the rules that
they were given.
Jeff (26:47):
They're trying to fix or
not, they were given they're
trying to fix or not fix, butthey're trying to like make it
more entertaining by adding asecond pit stop, and that just
made it worse that that secondpit stop.
Just I've heard a lot of peopletalking about taking that
chicane out.
Um, after the tunnel, soanother drs zone, which is not a
bad idea.
Yeah, just a straight shot andthen you get that gentle bend.
Um, I don't know.
They got to do something.
They will do something becausethey're not going to do another
um race like they had this week.
But anyways, that's myannouncements for the week.
(27:09):
Electric indy 500 watch thehighlights on youtube.
I need to I need to.
Jason (27:15):
I need, I need to go back
and watch.
You know, that was the choice.
I had the choice of either theindy 500 or Monaco, because they
were kind of happening Well, they weren't happening at the
same time.
But in Hawaii, when I woke up,those were my choices and I said
it's either Indy or it's F1.
So you know, of course, formulaOne all day, but I want to go
(27:40):
back and watch it.
Because I'm staying off thesocial media on purpose, because
it's all over the place, allthese posts, all the scandals
and all this stuff.
Erick (27:51):
That's wild, I got to get
caught up too.
Jason (27:55):
Yeah, indy 500 is
probably the biggest racing
event in the United States.
I think that's so easy, I meanthey're probably stuffing.
Jeff (28:06):
I'd imagine 100,000 people
.
Jason (28:08):
Oh easy.
Jeff (28:08):
Where F1 will do 200,000
to 300,000 over three days.
Jason (28:13):
Yeah, but F1 is Indy does
it on one day.
F1 is multiple.
It's not home to a singlecountry, right?
So you can't really compare it,right?
So it's not like Indy is 100%American.
That's an American thing, yeah,it's iconic right.
Yeah, I would like to go to onein person.
Jeff (28:35):
I think they're at Detroit
this week.
They're Detroit GP, don't quoteme on that, but anyways, yeah,
it's a street course this, thistime for Indy.
Somebody will correct me if I'mwrong.
Jason (28:45):
All right, well, leave
that below or email us at the
chicane podcast at gmailcom Ifyou have any um answers to that
or if you have any questions orcomments concerns.
But today, um, I think we'llhand this over to Eric for the
next topic, as I'm seeing here.
Erick (29:06):
Yes, sir, so in sim
racing news.
I love how he comes out.
There's a level of class with.
Jason (29:18):
Mr Kelly, bro, there's a
level of class.
I'll tell you.
Erick (29:20):
Yeah, I just got to have
some sort of you know transition
trying to tie it in there.
But in sim racing news a coupleof games got updates.
I'll start with the leastimportant first, which is GT7.
So they got updated to version1.59.
(29:40):
What do you mean, leastimportant?
Jason (29:41):
man, are you becoming
what's going on with Eric Kelly?
Now I'm sorry for interruptingbut what's going?
On up there in that brain ofyours, no hate, I'm just calling
it.
Erick (29:55):
This is just a regular
update Bro when you look at the
notes.
Jeff (30:00):
I thought it crossed my
mind.
Erick (30:02):
When you look at the
notes, we already had the
iRacing episode.
That's iRacing 2.0, if I neverheard it.
That's massive, huge oh.
I can't wait for that one yeahthis is just a little point.
Update 1.59 it is what it is.
Gt7 has some big updates in thepast where they've changed
(30:24):
physics and all that stuff.
This ain't it.
So, if you don't know, this isgoing to be quick.
So they added four new cars.
They added a Corvette Z06, theC501.
They added the Ferrari 812superfast from 2017.
They added the Honda 812Superfast from 2017.
(30:44):
They added the Honda CR-V.
Jason (30:47):
HEV A.
Erick (30:49):
CR-V, bro, that ain't the
worst one.
It's like.
That ain't the worst one.
I ain't got to love it.
Jeff (30:56):
What is?
Jason (30:56):
this doing in Grand
Service bro.
Erick (30:59):
And the last car they
added was the Suzuki Carry KC
what the hell is that, you ask?
And the last car they added wasthe Suzuki Carry KC.
Jason (31:04):
What, oh goodness.
Erick (31:05):
What the hell is that,
you ask?
Well, I'm going to go ahead andshow you guys a picture of it.
Jeff (31:11):
Yeah, let's see it bro
let's see this hot rod.
Erick (31:13):
Yeah, because this is.
Jeff (31:19):
I'm sure it's got rims on
it.
Erick (31:20):
Oh yeah, man, I mean with
today's episode it's just
pushing 450 horsepower.
Jason (31:25):
It's just fun.
It's just bash.
We're just having a good timetoday.
Erick (31:29):
Look, so I had shit on my
pedals.
So so I'm traumatized, I'm sure, with the right tune you know,
and you know the rightmodifications somebody better
get some speed out of this 93octane somebody gets some speed
out of this guy killing me ohgod
Jeff (31:49):
yo those are super popular
here at hawaii those are cool
though there's, I mean they're,they're cool here in hawaii I
don't know about racing them, though, you know I know about.
Erick (31:58):
I know about racing, I
know about racing them.
They ain't cool for that.
Jason (32:02):
It got 47 horsepower.
Erick (32:07):
It's a 0.7 liter.
Jason (32:08):
Why is it a five speed?
First of all Because itprobably can.
47 horsepower, 47?
.
Jeff (32:15):
Yeah, it's a 0.7 liter.
Jason (32:18):
Why can't it be 50?
Erick (32:19):
Inline three speed, I
mean inline three cylinder.
Jeff (32:25):
There's legitimately
obviously, motorcycles that are
twice, three times as well.
Erick (32:28):
Wait a minute, it's 1500
pounds, though it doesn't weigh
nothing for a car, but I'll saythis no for GT7 is.
You know, it's small, literally.
Jason (32:51):
It is small.
Erick (32:52):
Yeah, it's small,
insignificant, not game-changing
.
Another sim did get an update, assetto Corsa Evo.
They got release 0.2.
And this update kind of showsthat they're taking a different
direction.
Right now they're focusing moreon content drops and less kind
(33:13):
of on features.
They did drop the full offlinemode, so you can go full offline
.
You have the option to prettymuch access any cars in the game
, but no settings are saved, noprogress is saved and you still
have the option to go online andactually progress and, you know
(33:35):
, earn money and all that stuffcurrency in the game.
They did that because they saidthat, which I think is a good
thing.
They said that feedback fromthe community made people feel
like they were forcing them togo online and so they basically
kind of redesigned the game towhere the online and offline
were more distinct feature setsand the offline you have
(33:57):
everything, and then the onlineyou can actually progress.
Jeff (34:01):
That's cool that they're
listening to people.
Erick (34:03):
Yeah, they made that
change, but I's cool that
they're listening to people.
Yeah, they made that change, but I think that there was a
cost to it, right?
So one of the costs was achange to the roadmap.
So the roadmap initially hadsix content drops before the
first initial release.
That's been bumped up to eightcontent drops, which more
(34:24):
content.
That's great.
The downside is they move theinitial release, the 1.0 release
, from the fall to sometime inthe future which is the perfect
storm for them to delay the game.
Oh yeah, so yeah, that's alreadydelayed and also I hate to be
the bearer of bad news, but onthat roadmap as well, the open
(34:47):
world piece.
Jason (34:51):
It doesn't matter how you
slice it, bro.
Erick (34:53):
Well, so I think that at
a certain point the full release
is.
That's nice to have.
Jason (35:01):
I think they knew damn
well that this game wasn't going
to be ready by fall yeah yeah, come on.
Erick (35:06):
Yeah, that was definitely
ambitious Marketing.
Yeah, marketing Marketingtactic.
And now?
Jason (35:12):
you want to charge us
more for the game with this.
Eight drops.
Content is great, but why can'tthe content be?
Well, wait a minute.
These content drops are part ofthe timeline, right, you were
saying.
Erick (35:26):
Yeah, okay, add them to
the timeline.
So, no, yeah, no DLC.
Okay, sorry, sorry.
Jason (35:31):
I misjudged what I'm
reading here.
The content drops are themilestones right that they had
on their roadmap.
Got you, yeah, okayno-transcript.
Erick (35:58):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's
further.
It's like end of the summer, early fall now, whereas they
initially kind of had it on theroadmap and it was looking like
it was going to be, you know, get into the summer, midsummer.
So hopefully that doesn't sliptoo much further, because I
think once they get themultiplayer and open world out
there, I think that that'll bethe bulk of the game be the bulk
(36:25):
of the game, or or, or justmake the game have mods so
people can experiment with, yeah, the engine and put their own
you know spice on it.
Jason (36:30):
Why?
Why force us to wait?
Right, because the open worldis a huge thing with this game
yeah, yeah, if you look at the, trailer.
That was like half the trailerwas the open world yeah.
Erick (36:43):
That's why I said, with
the open world dropping before
that initial release day.
Anyway, I think once we get ourhands on that, and depending on
the state that it's in, howbuggy it is or how problematic
it is-.
Jason (36:54):
It's in a pretty good
state right now.
Erick (36:55):
I would say yeah, the
game's in a pretty good state
Once the open world is out.
I can tell you right now, Idon't care what version number
is on the game, for the mostpart.
Yeah, we want to drive aroundNuremberg and the neighborhood
and see other drivers around.
Jason (37:17):
That's what we want to
see.
That's what got everybodyexcited for this.
That's what got everybodyexcited for this.
Set aside the evolution of thegame right, the new ACC combined
with AC had a baby type of deal.
But when you mentioned openworld, a lot of us kind of got
excited.
Erick (37:36):
Yeah, I think that's kind
of the long pole in the tent
for them is the state of that, because that'll really be the
difference maker.
And before I wrap it up, I didwant to go over the cars that
were released.
So, like I said, I thinkthey're doing the best, they're
taking the best route, which isthe initial release is obviously
(37:57):
delayed, but they're giving ussomething in return.
They're giving us some morecontent.
So I think this is probably themost cars they've dropped in
the single drop.
So we have the alfa romeo uh,gulia, sprint gta.
We have the lotus uh, how doyou say that?
Exceed?
Jason (38:17):
I like that alfa romeo
dude that looks dope 75 turbo oh
, yeah, yeah, that I mean.
Erick (38:24):
Obviously over here in
the States that's not a very
common car, but the communitywas very excited about that.
We got the Porsche 911 Turbo3.6.
We have the Mazda M5 NA Jason-.
Jason (38:40):
Oh, that's an 80s Porsche
too, man.
Erick (38:44):
Yeah, that one is.
It says from the 80s.
Jason (38:46):
Yeah, 3.6 liter turbo
nice.
Erick (38:49):
Yeah, classic, that
classic Porsche 911 body style,
hell yeah.
Jeff (38:53):
Yeah, they dropped a
little like an error 80s to 90s
error cars, which is cool.
Erick (39:00):
Yeah, and Jason's
favorite car, the Mazda MX-5.
Jason (39:04):
The Viata that's what I
call them.
Jeff (39:12):
Call what you want, but I
bet it don't have shit on its
brake pedal.
That's right.
Jason (39:15):
Oh man, oh man, You're
laying it on thick now.
Jeff (39:18):
It keeps coming, just like
the dog, the dog laid it on
thick, bro, she went straight.
Jason (39:25):
no chaser on me.
Erick (39:26):
Oh yeah, that's
definitely.
I'm already looking about nextyear.
That's definitely going to beon the highlight reel.
Jason (39:31):
I'm telling you, man,
this is, I'm going to have a
doo-doo on the thumbnail.
I'm thinking about it.
Erick (39:38):
The emoji little thing,
that's that real clickbait right
there, man.
That's that real clickbaitright there.
But to wrap up the cars, theyadded the Honda NSX-R from the
early 1990s, maserati GT2 andthe Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo
Evoluzione from the 80s.
Jason (39:59):
Hell yeah, bro, look at
that Maserati they gave us some
pretty ones.
The game is looking good likean era From the 80s.
Erick (40:03):
Hell yeah bro, ooh look
at.
Maserati yeah, they gave ussome pretty ones.
Yeah, the game is looking goodLike an era.
Jason (40:08):
Yeah, it is looking good.
It is looking good.
Set aside my negativity withjust the business practice of it
.
Jeff (40:17):
I don't care at the end of
the day, Coda came out.
Huh yeah.
Erick (40:20):
Yeah, they added Coda and
they added Donington Park.
Jeff (40:24):
Oh came out.
Huh, yeah, and yeah, they addedcoda and they added, uh,
donnington park.
Jason (40:27):
Oh, all right I haven't
got in there cars since the drop
.
Oh no, you, you, it's waybetter, jeff really a hundred
thousand percent better yeah, they also did um.
Erick (40:34):
Obviously I don't have
triple screens, but they um
optimized barely.
Yeah, optimized for triples andoptimized VR more.
That's also kind of still ontrack as far as the drops to-.
Jason (40:47):
Another thing, jeff, is
the UI.
Remember how it was all laggyand stuff.
Nice, yeah, they fixed that.
Jeff (40:55):
Okay.
Jason (40:56):
Yeah, coda Soccer of the
Americas, nice.
Jeff (40:58):
Dude, I don't think
they're releasing anything open
wheel.
Jason (41:03):
Oh, that's right, no more
.
Jeff (41:04):
Damn.
Yeah, I did a search for it theother day and I didn't see
anything planned they're goingto have to release open wheel.
Jason (41:10):
That's impossible, man,
yeah, yeah.
Erick (41:13):
I feel like that's going
to be like a DLC.
Jeff (41:15):
I'll pay for a DLC, come
on.
Erick (41:18):
Yeah, because I think the
community is there.
I don't think there's any way.
You can not.
Jason (41:24):
Oh yeah, that's a big F1
community, man, huge, not bigger
than the GT community, but it'spretty up there.
It's up there, definitely upthere.
Erick (41:35):
Can't let iRacing have
all the fun yeah.
Jason (41:39):
I wouldn't think that 90s
cars are more important than F1
cars.
I would say F1 cars are moredesired to drive.
Jeff (41:47):
Yeah that's what makes me
I mean.
I'm pretty sure when I waslooking through that they didn't
have anything.
Jason (41:52):
Maybe they're afraid of
the game crashing because the
Formula cars is too damn fastyeah.
Jeff (41:59):
I wish you were right, I
know.
Erick (42:02):
If I had to guess, I
would say that they're probably
staying away from the moretechnical cars.
Jason (42:08):
Ah, that makes sense.
Erick (42:10):
Yeah, you think about
those formula cars and, you know
, Like P1 cars they don't havehybrid cars.
Jason (42:16):
Yeah, those cars have a
bunch of different modifications
systems.
Yeah, so that kind of seems tobe.
F1 has like ERS you got the DRS, you got A lot of systems,
Different modifications systems,yeah yeah.
So that kind of seems to be F1has like ERS you got the DRS,
you got, yeah, yeah, brake, biasand traction control.
I mean, most cars have that, but you know like hybrid systems
.
Erick (42:33):
I know Alfa Romeo from
the 80s.
You ain't got that.
Jason (42:35):
I ain't got no 80s, you
don't?
That's just so true, yeah so Imean those are.
I'm sorry, eric, my head hasn'tbeen straight man.
Hey, man, that's why we're here, man no.
I got shit on my brake pedal.
Man that messed me up.
Erick (42:50):
Yeah, man, you've been
traumatized.
Man, we got you, though we gotyou All right man.
Hey, thanks a lot for coveringthat.
Jason (43:05):
That's actually a good
update and it's, you know, it's
free.
It's free not charging, andit's not quality, it looks good,
you know.
I'll add just a little bit toyour um, to your report here on
updates.
Sim hub had an update justbefore we started recording the
podcast I thought I sawsomething up there when I booted
and f125 has support for simhub.
Yay, yay, that's about it.
In other news, the sun's comingout tomorrow.
Jeff (43:27):
I watched some, since
we'll touch on this since you
opened this up.
I watched like a handful ofreviews early this morning and
they were like oh, this is acouple steps forward, like
you're so foolish.
Erick (43:37):
No it isn't.
Jason (43:39):
Got a graphic refresh and
rebanded.
Yeah, yeah, just wait for thegame to come out.
There's really no reason topreorder things anyway.
People saying it was like 90bucks or something, $90 for this
.
Jeff (43:52):
That might have been for
console anyways.
Yeah, I saw something onYouTube.
They were like 90 bucks forthis and I was like damn, it's
$90 no way, they must have gotlike the deluxe edition.
Yeah, probably.
Erick (44:06):
That's crazy.
Jeff (44:08):
Not impressed.
They're not going to buy it.
Jason (44:10):
Yeah, well, it wouldn't
surprise me if it is, because
look at the Nintendo, switch, nintendo and what they're doing
with their games and bumping uptheir prices, and sadly, that's
how things are.
Man, all it takes is that oneperson to say I'm charging $10
more for this and everybodystarts to buy.
(44:32):
If you're on PC.
Jeff (44:33):
There's no reason to go to
F1.
Yeah, dude, assetto Corsa witha content manager.
The F1 cars, they're $3.
Skins are free and it's awesome.
I sent you guys that video ofMonaco that I was driving this
week and it's killing.
Erick (44:49):
Yeah, that was legit For
real.
Jason (44:52):
Yeah, you can pick up a
Settled Corsa on sale for like
$10.
Erick (44:58):
Yeah, it's crazy, $10.
Jeff (45:00):
Yeah, it's crazy, DRS ERS,
and it's awesome.
Yeah, it's crazy, DRS ERS.
You know it's got everythingand I'm going to tell you right
now.
Jason (45:04):
That is the best $10 you
will ever spend.
Jeff (45:06):
Ever spent Other than
SimHub?
Erick (45:07):
Yeah, I was about to say
second to SimHub Fair, fair.
Jason (45:10):
It comes in a close
second bro.
Erick (45:12):
So does SimHub add mouse
support.
Jason (45:15):
No, I didn't go too deep
into it, installed it and I
jumped on the.
I jumped on the.
Well, we'll check and see.
I would be.
I would make an entire episodeif they put my support on this
show.
I'm going to send out an emailto the CEO, whoever it is over
there at EA games.
Erick (45:33):
Be like just God bless
you.
That's it.
They deserve the hate mail.
Jason (45:38):
Just hats off.

Check links to T trophy ai inthe description and also use
chicane 12 in all caps for a 12discount.
Yeah, but anyways, all rightguys.
Jeff (46:13):
So I think we got one more
right, jeff, what you got for
us this week yeah, I've beentalking a couple last couple
weeks, probably cast a couplemonths, of some mods I've been
doing to my rig.
I shouldn't be surprised.
I drive mostly Formula.
Honestly, since F1 started I'vebeen jumping in like I was
saying content manager and I'vebeen driving the track that they
(46:34):
have been for that week, whichhas been kind of cool because I
get to watch the weekend, warmup and practice and all these
other things and I can change myline to watch what they're
doing and it's just fun to youknow, see how they're taking
corners and, uh, just be doingbasically what you're watching
on TV.
But anyway, so I put you knowsome, uh, you know like the
fuselage, so you're in there andyou can feel you know the side
(46:56):
of the car on your hands andstuff to make it more feel like
a F1 car, similar to guys thatput the netting and the seats
and the fire extinguisher.
It's kind of like that idea, the immersion.
But what I wanted to do is Iwas looking at some of the F1
pictures and videos of theactual cockpits and the drivers
have some switches by their likeknees.
It's not a dashboard per se,behind the wheel, it's all by
(47:19):
their knees and it's allvertically mounted so I wanted
to take my switches that was myignition and starter and move it
down there.
So it's much more um f1 feellike the immersion and when I
wear vr I look down, the switchis there and I can reach for it
and it's there in real life, which is super cool.
Yeah, yeah, it lines up and youactually feel it's awesome um,
(47:41):
so I had that and I saw thatthey have like a kill switch.
So when they crash they reachover and just turn this big like
handle and it disconnects thebattery.
So I wanted to have my pushbutton starter and things on the
left and build a little killswitch on my right so when I
crash or when I want to go backto the pits, I just turn that
(48:03):
and it brings me back to thepits.
I turn it again and it takes meout of the game.
You know, just like even moreimmersion.
But I couldn't.
I went to the bottom that's agood use of it.
Yeah, um, trying to find avertical mounted, so switch, and
then below the switch is thebutton to push start.
Not side by side, everythingwas side by side, uh, and I was
(48:24):
like dedicated to figuring thisout.
So I found this youtube dude um, I can't remember what, what it
is, it's uh, but anyways, I'llpost.
We'll post it in the comments, but he shows you a very
straightforward video how tomake these things and dudes,
it's like 15 and you're donehere.
So I'm going to show you whatyou need to buy.
Jason (48:45):
Let's share this.
Jeff (48:46):
Let me see this.
Jason (48:48):
This is.
Jeff (48:48):
Skillshare for free, ready
, so check this out.
$12.
And you get this.
It's $12.85, though Wait aminute, oh, excuse me, so you're
$13, right, and this comes withbasically everything you need,
and then you go buy the switchesand buttons that no soldering.
Erick (49:06):
Want no soldering
required, zero plug and play all
plug and play, um.
Jeff (49:11):
So then you go buy the
switches and plugs that you want
to be, you know, to fit yourrig, um.
So I'm going to stop there andum, and then I'm going to show
you what I did and bought for mysetup to be exactly the way I
wanted it.
So I bought the um.
You'll see the push button, theignition switch and the push
(49:33):
button spark right, so boughtthat Um and like it's so easy to
to connect these things, youtake the end of those blue and
white wires that I was showingyou, you connect them to.
There's two wires and there'stwo connectors on the switch.
It's stupid proof and if youmess it up you'll know when you
(49:54):
map it to a button.
It will just figure it out andswitch it for you and then just
plug it into the board.
And then there's a USB cablethat it only goes in one
connector and you plug it intoyour computer and then you can
go to make sure you verified it.
You go, you can go to.
Uh, if you just do a search inyour computer for USB joystick,
go in there.
It will sense the board andthen you can make sure that you
(50:17):
can flip the switches.
It lights up, right it lights up, absolutely, um, and so that
way you can test it to make sureit works before you put it into
whatever board you're going todo.
So then was my there was.
My next issue was trying tofigure out a way Look at you,
man, you're professional now,man, yeah.
So then I was like, oh, youknow what, he lives nearby.
I got a 3D printer.
(50:41):
I can make the thing exactlylike I want.
So I went in and made thisthing on Tinkercad.
I'm a beginner at this and thisis what I just made on
Tinkercad and this was my firstgo at it, so I didn't put the
holes in it.
I might need a crash course withyou, dude, about this, and I
(51:04):
just printed it out, um, andI'll bring up what it came out
to be.
This was my first version one.
This is v1 v1.
I had no intention, oh yeah, just wanted to, so I realized
that it's too wide, like this ismy phone going off all day I
(51:25):
was so pumped I made this thing.
I made it like, yeah, you buythat on etsy right.
And I made it um, and I waslike, oh, it's too wide.
So I went and, um, my leg wouldhit, you know, the the left
side or the it's yeah, it'sright side with my left leg, um.
So I made another one um, andlike I would just over the
course of a week, and you madeit to be exactly custom as you
(51:48):
wanted it.
Um, that's dope, yeah.
So here is um, the finalversion of the starter, and I
wrapped it in carbon fiber, um,and it looks killer, right, and
it's mounted flush.
I'll show you here in a second.
But, gentlemen, like, if youhave a 3d printer, it's mounted
flush.
I'll show you here in a second.
But, gentlemen, if you have a3D printer, it's legitimately
$15.
And I have something that isn'ton anybody else's rig anywhere.
(52:14):
Yeah, it doesn't exist and itwas $15.
I love it.
So that was one, hooked it up,works great.
And then I decided I wanted tomake the um the push button
starter or the kill switch, excuse me.
So I did the same thing, um,and designed that nice you know
(52:41):
and just added a littlereinforcements there because
there's a little bit of pressureon it and the the side without
um is the one that gets mountedon the on the rig, and it prints
like that on the on its side.
Yep, no, I actually I rotated it, I think, on its side.
Nope, I printed it off likethis Okay, this way I didn't
even have to maneuver it.
(53:01):
Um, and there was no trees ornothing for this one bamboo for
the wind, bro dude like it's soeasy with bamboo.
I don't know if it is moredifficult or harder or not um
with other ones, but bamboo likedude.
My son is now doing this afterschool, so here, yeah, so here's
the final product.
Erick (53:20):
Oh, yeah, that's.
Look at that man.
That's something you should payfor right there look at that.
Jason (53:24):
look at the shine's
something you should pay for
right there.
Look at that.
Look at the shine, bro, is hegoing to turn it?
Is he going to turn it?
Is he going to?
Jeff (53:34):
turn it?
I don't think so.
One-handed, no, no, no.
Erick (53:36):
I was like there's nobody
holding the phone.
Jason (53:45):
Okay, so I kind of
understand now a little better
because it's like, it's like atan angle, like a corner angle,
so you can like put it on the.
Jeff (53:48):
Yeah, smart, my.
This is where it gets mountedto the side of my rig that
you'll see here in a second, andbehind here is all like the
guts right.
And then I had I did make alittle box that that controller
goes in and it just mounts niceand smooth behind the scenes.
You can't see it, if I, and thebest part is is, if I want to
add another thing, I just buythe switch and plug it in.
(54:10):
I don't have to do any of theother wiring, you just plug it
into that little box.
So I have one on each side andI think it has 15 ports that you
can plug things into.
Yep, 15 switches that customize.
I can make my own button box,you know, for whatever it is.
So, um.
So, eric, eric, I know what youwere talking about here, as
you're going to share your rig.
(54:30):
So this is me being nervoushere.
I'm going to show my rig to theworld here, but I love it.
I think it came out fantastic.
Jason (54:39):
Yeah, yeah, save the
comments.
Jeff (54:42):
I know it's probably not
nearly as nice as other people.
Erick (54:44):
No, you got a nice rig,
stop playing, yeah, so here it
is, here it is gang um I'll playit as I demonstrate how I
started up and things oh, lookat the look at this, look at
this, look at this.
This is what he's nervous broyou look.
Jason (54:59):
It looks like you
legitimately inside a freaking
yeah when you turn the lightsoff, it's super nice.
Jeff (55:05):
The lights are just on
here and that board's all
cleaned up um.
The lights are just on, so youcan see what I'm doing, but you
can see the steering wheelignition goes on I'm telling you
bro yeah, man, you got thisready.
Jason (55:17):
You got this ready lovely
dashboard.
Jeff (55:20):
And then you.
I just stop it here, basicallyso you can see what I do with
the kill switch.
Goes back to the pits.
Do it again.
Goes back to the menu Get meout of here.
Yeah, that's sick, that's cool, what I really want to tell
people is like, I'm not supertechnologically advanced.
(55:41):
I'm pretty good with my hands.
I can figure out a wiringdiagram, basic stuff like that,
but for like 15 bucks and acouple, you know, a couple hours
after work at night, you know, and the sun and my, my, my
little dude was, you know, figuring out the, the, the, the,
you know, the ticker CAD withme.
Um, I'm super happy with how itcame out.
I love it.
It's mine.
There's nobody else in theworld that has one like it.
Jason (56:03):
um, and it was like 15
bucks and you made something out
of thin, basically nothing outof an idea in your head.
That's, that's the beauty of 3dprinting man.
Jeff (56:12):
So I'm super happy with it
.
Um love how the rig looks andstuff, so I just wanted to share
that with everybody.
It looks awesome like hey, like, even if you don't have a 3d
printer, you could probablyjimmy up you know some plywood
or something like that and, uh,mount it to a rig somehow.
But yeah, I just wanted toshare.
I saw that and then on theyoutube, that's a good I'll
share the link and stuff um.
But yeah, super cool if you, alot of our listeners, have 3d
(56:34):
printers that I, you know havethe ability, they probably
already doing this stuff.
Who am I?
I don't know, but there areprobably a lot of people that
didn't, because I found it umyou'd be surprised the amount of
questions people have with thisstuff.
Jason (56:44):
Oh yeah, there's always
somebody wanting to know how to
do something.
Jeff (56:49):
Yeah, reach out, Happily
help people out if you got any
questions.
But really it's very intuitivethere you go, guys.
Jason (56:54):
I'm happy to talk to
people.
Email the show atthechicanepodcasts at gmailcom.
That's right.
But it's that time, and wehaven't done this in a long time
but it's that time bro whattime?
The track of the week and thistime Eric has got it.
He's had it for maybe threeweeks now, but we've just been.
Erick (57:15):
We've been a little busy,
so I'm going to make it seem
like this was.
This was just likepre-meditated guess it because
it's just kind of a coincidencethe track of the week and what
just happened.
Jason (57:30):
Oh, that's right, that
does make sense Almost like we
planned it.
Jeff (57:32):
Yeah, oh, look at that,
eric, you knocked it out of the
park.
Erick (57:36):
Yeah, man, so this was
all a part of the plan.
Jeff (57:42):
We're that good.
Erick (57:43):
Exactly Been waiting on
this.
So, uh, what were you gonna say, jason?
Yes, I don't know.
Jason (57:49):
I'm looking at the shape
of it.
It looks like a pair of vrgoggles from the front, that
side.
Erick (57:53):
You know how I usually
mess with the shape oh yeah,
it's either a boot, or acigarette or something I don't
know yeah, this is pretty, kindof pretty straightforward for
the most part.
Yeah, I mean not much going onthere, which is crazy.
(58:17):
Jeff, you kind of mentioned insome of the statistics on just
how popular this track is.
They added a road course, andI'm just kind of going through.
Jeff (58:26):
How did they added a road
course?
I?
Erick (58:27):
didn't know it had a road
course.
Yeah, they added that back in2000.
And I'm just kind of going overthe layouts because they don't
change that much.
Jeff (58:38):
Four turns let's not glaze
over the fact there, eric, that
it went.
What 90, 90, 80 something yearsuntouched?
Erick (58:46):
yeah like hey getting
their turn four times and again,
and again, if it ain't broken, don't fix it I know right and
it's one of the most popularraces um.
That's events really um, and itjust shows how simple we are.
We'll take a lot.
You make loud noises, we gofast.
Jeff (59:06):
We didn't slow it down
because people get hurt this is
true.
Jason (59:10):
Well, we don't know yet.
We don't know yet.
Jeff (59:13):
Sorry.
Jason (59:14):
We've had some changes
here, Jeff.
I don't know.
Erick (59:17):
Yeah, we'll get into the.
Jason (59:20):
We were good for 90 years
.
Like you said, Damn near.
Erick (59:23):
Yeah, at a certain point
it's like, hey, we just need to
figure out how to stop running.
Yeah, we might want toresurface the surface.
Jason (59:30):
I mean it's been almost
100 years now.
Erick (59:32):
Yeah, so, speaking of
that, we mentioned 100 years.
So the inaugural race for thistrack happened August 14th 1909.
This is, like I say, one of thebiggest events right that's
hosted at this track theIndianapolis 500.
It's obviously in Indianapolis, indiana, and this track has a
(59:58):
very famous nickname and it iscalled the Brickyard right and
so initially the Brickyard.
Jeff (01:00:04):
I didn't knowyard the
Brickyard.
I didn't know that theBrickyard 400 is raced here,
allegedly, I would imagine.
Yep, which you're probablygoing to tell us.
Erick (01:00:13):
Yeah, we're going to get
to it.
I like the excitement because Iknow, with you kind of going
over the crazy shenanigans thatwere happening this past week,
this track has a lot moreattention Bro nothing beats the
pennies at freaking Alton Parkthat one takes the cheese
Nothing beats that.
I'm interested.
Jason (01:00:35):
Let's hear it.
Erick (01:00:36):
We're going to try to top
it though.
So we did mention the Brickyard, and the nickname came from the
fact that the surface was pavedentirely by bricks 3.2 million
bricks 3.2 million bricks, sothey racing on bricks bro.
They were racing on bricks for90 years, basically.
Jason (01:00:57):
Well, 80 years basically,
and so now it's mostly asphalt.
Erick (01:01:02):
Oh yeah, you know it was
those poor cars, but now it's
mostly asphalt.
Oh yeah, yeah, you know it wasthose poor cars, yeah, but now
it's mostly asphalt.
They do have kind of an homageto the original bricks.
They have a little patch nearthe start-finish line.
It's called a yard of bricks.
So you can still see, likethose bricks there on the course
, the pale mosh to the course'sheritage, to pay homage to their
(01:01:23):
, to the course's heritage.
And we mentioned earlier kindof how many people possibly show
up to, you know, one of theseevents.
So the capacity for seating is250,000 seats.
Whoa what 250,000 seats.
(01:01:43):
Quarter of a million people.
Quarter million butts in seats.
Jeff (01:01:49):
One day, not like a
weekend.
Erick (01:01:51):
Not a weekend.
Physical butts in seats 250K.
Jason (01:01:55):
Damn bro, Dude, that one
doesn't end a weekend.
Erick (01:01:59):
That does not include the
infield where you can camp and
all those people with tents andall that stuff.
Jason (01:02:04):
Oh, these are 250,000
seats.
Erick (01:02:06):
Physical seats.
Jason (01:02:08):
Physical seats we're not
counting the standing areas or
anything like that.
Erick (01:02:12):
The standing areas, the
infield.
When you're at the infield, itcan exceed 300,000 people.
Jason (01:02:18):
Damn.
Erick (01:02:20):
When you talk about a
party, when you talk about boys,
that's a small army, bro.
Jason (01:02:24):
What are you talking
about?
Jeff (01:02:25):
That's a city, that city
in Apples becomes like the
biggest city in the Midwest thatweekend.
Erick (01:02:30):
Yeah, and this is a two
and a half mile oval track.
Jason (01:02:34):
Imagine the parking bro
and trying to leave after the
race.
That's why people be leavinglike right before, like right
before the podium.
Jeff (01:02:43):
That's why you camp right.
Yeah, that's why you camp right.
Yeah, you might as well just-.
That's why they camp.
Erick (01:02:45):
That's a great good
example.
Yeah, you just grab a beer and-.
Jeff (01:02:49):
Then you got too much beer
in your team.
Jason (01:02:50):
Oh, you have a few beers,
bro, I'm eight.
Jeff (01:02:53):
You got beer drinking.
Yeah, you feel like leaving andlooking around In.
Erick (01:02:57):
America.
Oh yeah, yeah.
Well, you feel like man.
There's like 299 000 peoplearound me I guess all I can do
is have another beer at thispoint, because uh that's right
nowhere, yeah, but um, uh, as wementioned earlier, some of the
races.
Obviously, the indianapolis 500is one of the biggest races
that's been held there since1911 and sell annually on
(01:03:20):
memorial day weekend, so justkind of tying those two things
together.
They also used to hold theBrickyard 400 there.
That was a NASCAR race.
That happened from 1994 to 2020.
And now they call it theVerizon 200.
And it's actually held on theroad course, so they're not
using the oval for that, they'reusing the road course.
They have the IndyCar GrandPrix, which is also held on the
(01:03:44):
Enfield Road course.
They have the IMSA Sports CarChampionship, which just picked
back up in 2023.
Formula One for a while washosting the Grand Prix there
from 2000 to 2007.
They have a MotoGP that washosted there from 2008 to 2015.
And they have the Endurance andracing uh series that happened
(01:04:08):
there and also do some testevents as well.
So very actively used track, heavily used.
You know this.
I guess just with the amount ofspace and seating and stuff
there you can, they haven't doanything in there yeah they
probably do concerts there too?
Jason (01:04:26):
probably yeah I was going
to say that um I know daytona
does, daytona does like allkinds you can do whatever you
want there with that amount ofseating so for.
Erick (01:04:35):
So for context, right, um
, some nfl stadiums hold 100,
000, 120, 120,000.
One of the biggest collegefootball stadiums, the Ohio
Buckeyes right.
Their stadium holds, I believe,118,000 people.
Jason (01:04:57):
That's one of the largest
stadiums right and they have
250,000 butts.
Jeff (01:05:02):
Thanks to the.
Erick (01:05:03):
Indy.
Jeff (01:05:05):
Which is crazy.
That's crazy.
Erick (01:05:07):
That's hard to wrap your
head around, oh yeah so as far
as notable turns, anything likethat, it's four turns not to
downplay it not to make it seemlike it's less difficult.
Jason (01:05:21):
I just like, so yeah.
Jeff (01:05:25):
I was watching the race,
eric, and when they come out of
turn two and four they don't gowide Like they come out of they.
They dive tight into turn likeone and two and then they go out
.
But then they come.
When they're going down thestretch, they come back in
towards the, the, the, the.
When they're going down thestretch, they come back in
(01:05:45):
towards the infield.
It's the weirdest thing.
Shorter distance, bro, but theywere out.
They come in and then they goback out and then they dive into
the corner.
I don't know if they're doingit because they're trying to
break the person behind them, but it was just interesting what
you said.
Jason (01:05:59):
Oh, like weaving.
I got to see this, I got towatch it, I got to see this, I
got to watch it.
Erick (01:06:03):
So it's funny because I
was watching somebody stream
this and they kind of I don'tknow they might watch the
podcast, because they weretalking specifically about hey,
I want to try oval racingbecause I play out racing and I
normally just do GT3, f1.
They were like I'm going to tryoval racing and he literally
(01:06:24):
was mentioning that same thing.
He was confused because he waslike I don't know why they're
like weaving out after they comeout of certain turns, like.
He's like I don't like when youthink about GT3 or F1 racing,
you think about it's like thefastest line, you know most
efficient line.
He's like they're not takingthat, they're doing some other
stuff, dude.
Jeff (01:06:43):
Yeah, I'm not gonna, yeah,
I'm not gonna how much they're
moving back and forth, like, yeah, I'm like, ah, ah, like
yeah, I'm not gonna pretend likethey only get like I know how,
why they're doing it.
So yeah, it's a, it'smind-blowing.
They'll like two wide, threewide, no big deal, four wides.
The announcers start to getexcited, that's it.
(01:07:03):
But they're going like 200 andsomething miles an hour and
they're like weaving.
It's crazy, yeah that's.
Jason (01:07:09):
There's a call out to
george anzaldo, the sim gaming
god, please respond.
Below he's a huge.
In the 500 indie they had theirwhole.
What is it?
Their, their, their league wasstraight up in.
He'll be able to tell us whatthey were doing.
Erick (01:07:27):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Jason (01:07:29):
Because I'm not going to
pretend on the show here.
I'm not a.
Erick (01:07:33):
We're guessing.
Jason (01:07:34):
Yeah, I'm not an oval guy
.
I'm not an oval guy.
Yeah, I'd imagine I'minterested though I'm interested
because when I race it it's ashit ton of fun.
I just watching it is a littlemore difficult for me, but
racing it is intense as hell.
Jeff (01:07:48):
Yeah, Dude, they were
showing some of the drivers like
coming out of the turns andthey're not even moving, the
wheel Just and the back end'sgone and you're just like whoa
Holy cow.
Like I thought F1 was touchy.
Erick (01:08:07):
Yeah, they're hammered
down too.
Yeah, it seems a lot more.
It seems like you're like onthe not even on the edge, you're
like driving past the edge.
It's probably traction is likewhat's traction that we use that
sometimes, but yeah, it's likewe're just flying really low.
Jeff (01:08:19):
We're not driving at this
point exactly oh yeah.
Erick (01:08:23):
Hell yeah, but to kind of
almost wrap up some more stuff
with the track, there's somehistorical moments.
The first Annapolis 500 was in1911.
That was won by Mr Ray Huron ina Barman Wasp.
I don't know what that is.
I don't know what kind of carthat is, something with wheels,
(01:08:44):
bro, it was probably really fast.
Jeff (01:08:45):
what kind of car that is?
What wheels bro it?
Was probably really fast at thetime Wheels and motor Probably
bro 1911.
Erick (01:08:51):
1961, that was the last
year bricks were fully visible
before they were all paved over.
Oh, wow, yeah, so kind of amajor turning point.
A major turning point 1994 wasNASCAR's first Brickyard 400,
and it was won by no one otherthan Mr Jeff Gordon, the first
(01:09:14):
one, yep.
And of course you had F1 therein 2000, 2005, and Mr Michael
Schumacher was dominating, yeahhe dominated everything.
Jeff (01:09:25):
Dominating everything.
It didn't matter whether theygot a job on the moon and he
would dominate, puttingbuilt-a-ass, like he usually
does Built-a-ass In 2008,.
Erick (01:09:33):
They had their first
MotoGP event there In 2020, the
Motor Speedway was purchased byMr Roger Penske.
Jeff (01:09:45):
Oh yeah, revitalizing,
that's your friend, jeff.
Jason (01:09:47):
Nothing to see here.
Get his email real quick, jeff.
Get his email, yeah.
Erick (01:09:52):
Tell him we want to
interview him, we want to get
his story Tell him.
Jason (01:09:55):
We want to discuss some
things, yeah, in a virtual space
.
Erick (01:10:01):
Yeah, and then in 2021,
nascar and IndyCar both raced
the same weekend, which washistoric.
Jeff (01:10:08):
That's crazy.
That's never happened back in2020.
It's just a logistical problem.
Jason (01:10:13):
I mean it's cool to have
a track this old.
I mean the oldest track thatwe've done on the Chicane
Podcast was Spa.
Right?
Spa is in 1920, right 1920?
Jeff (01:10:25):
Yeah, so probably just a
handful of years.
No, yeah, no, you're probablypretty close.
Jason (01:10:33):
You know what?
I got the facts right here.
Hold on.
Erick (01:10:36):
I was about to say you
know what?
Jeff (01:10:37):
It probably is right,
Because it was made before World
War II 1921.
Jason (01:10:43):
1921.
So I was a year off.
Erick (01:10:47):
Yeah, yeah.
Jason (01:10:48):
So this is definitely one
of the oldest ones we've
covered, so this is one of theoldest tracks and it's American,
so I don't think honestly.
Jeff (01:10:57):
we've got to look and see
the rest of the world's like
yeah, figures Boring.
Jason (01:11:01):
I know right.
Erick (01:11:02):
Yeah, so that's what I
was going to say.
Like, looking at the history, there was no war ties or
military-based stuff.
Jason (01:11:09):
I know it's like the
shortest track of the week ever
bro.
Jeff (01:11:11):
Yeah, it's interesting.
All you Americans care about isgoing fast and turning left,
that's it.
Erick (01:11:17):
Hey, don't forget being
loud, right.
Jeff (01:11:19):
Yeah, I had that too.
Erick (01:11:21):
Yeah, yeah, this was
definitely one of the.
It's kind of one of those kindof feel good tracks, I think.
Jeff (01:11:27):
Great Americana.
Watch that Great heritage.
Jason (01:11:30):
I think it's different.
I think it's very differentwhen you attend something in
person.
Oh yeah, the energy is verydifferent.
Jeff (01:11:38):
Dude, 250 million people,
like on your.
You know, when they come acrossthe line with the green flag
drops like.
Jason (01:11:45):
I can't imagine how many
hot dogs are they bringing
hamburgers?
Jeff (01:11:48):
How do you feed these
people?
That's dude.
That is a mind-blowing talk.
Jason (01:11:51):
Just imagine how do you
feed these people.
How do you feed them?
Erick (01:11:54):
Yeah you can't.
What's the space?
Jeff (01:11:57):
look like for a million
hot dogs.
It's $12 a hot dog, that'sprobably what it is and they do
qualify, I charge them whateverI want.
The qualifying for this is theweekend before, so it stretches
two weekends and they're doingrace.
Yeah, I mean legitimately,probably what.
5 million people through thegate?
It's a party.
Jason (01:12:15):
That's what this is.
Jeff (01:12:16):
You know, if you add up
all the days I'm making
something.
Erick (01:12:18):
Maybe it's like two, two,
two million people, you know
yeah that's possible, yeah so Iknow on the infield kind of the
idea is that.
Jason (01:12:28):
That's where that's still
a shit ton of people, though
yeah, on the infield there.
Erick (01:12:31):
Basically, if you're in
the infield, you're not, you're
getting there and you're therefor the week.
Basically, like, people areparking there, they're getting
campers, they're setting up food, food trucks.
They also talk about themhaving concerts while racing
isn't going on.
Jeff (01:12:47):
That's cool man, that's
dope.
Erick (01:12:50):
It's a spectacle, yeah, a
spectacle.
It's like Coachella with racingFormula's, like that though
right, yeah, they have concertsand stuff.
Jeff (01:13:00):
It's turned into more than
just the race.
Yeah, the thing I like aboutFormula dude is that they got
it's turned into more than justthe race.
Jason (01:13:05):
Yeah, yeah.
Jeff (01:13:06):
The thing I like about.
Jason (01:13:07):
Formula dude is that they
got that Porsche League.
Man, that's sick bro.
I'm so jealous.
That was the one that flew byyou and it was loud as hell and
you were like I can't hear afreaking thing.
Erick (01:13:20):
All right, cool track of
the week.
Jason (01:13:26):
I think it was perfect
selection there, eric, and I
think it was perfect timingbecause we've had this planned.
Yeah, then it kind of workedout.
So we did get a request from amember at the grl for a track.
I haven't forgotten about thatrequest and we will put that
through.
But all right, so we've reachedthe end of the show here.
(01:13:48):
We're just going to go oversome questions that are long due
here.
Yeah, we've been kind of busywith just content.
You know content, but still,it's always a pleasure to go
over your questions and coverthose here on the show.
So, without further ado, I'llgo and I'll cover the first one,
(01:14:12):
right?
So let me.
We got an email from MarkFleming, and Mark Fleming says
well, he's emailed the showbefore, so thank you so much,
mark.
He says hi guys, here's someupdated pictures of the rig.

(01:14:35):
So thank you so much for that.
I appreciate you.
Supporting the show was builtand ready in about three days.
However, wasn't just right.
It's never just right, bro,it's never just right.
There was plenty of sore kneesand fingertips.
Yeah, oh yeah, I can relate, and we're about to, I'm about to
show you pictures here in asecond.
Jeff (01:14:55):
Let's see this bad larry.
It is a zero to fuck me build.
Jason (01:15:03):
I'm returning, simmer,
join iRacing 2011 with Fanatec
GT2 and GT3 RS wheelbases.
I've been on and off for years,so it says enjoy, keep up the
great content.
I'm jealous of your beautifulisland and island isn't just as
beautiful Northern Ireland.
So here we go.
(01:15:23):
I am going to share my screen.
Let me get this.

Jason (01:15:30):

I got to get this for dramaticeffect, like the whole thing you
know.
So we just got to do this.
You got to bear with me whilewe get this up, but here we go,
Check out, oh yeah.
Jeff (01:15:46):

Jeff (01:16:04):

Jeff (01:16:19):

Jason (01:16:24):

being sarcastic.
Jeff (01:16:27):

different, different strokes for
different folks man, you knowhe's like I don't make the rules
, that's a killer setup buddyyeah, I love it that's beautiful
.
Erick (01:16:38):
I love the minimal it's.
Jason (01:16:41):
It's minimal, but then it
has everything that you'd ever
need, right.
Jeff (01:16:45):
I'm going to say something
that's going to trigger
somebody here, but look howclean that seat looks.
Bro, Look how clean it looks.
Jason (01:16:53):

It's clean.
Oh, he's got that lighting forthe dramatic effect.
Erick (01:17:35):

Jason (01:17:39):

Jeff (01:18:28):
It doesn't look it does

Jason (01:18:30):
I don't see an led um it
looks a little different, but

Jason (01:19:10):
I've been meaning to do
this.
Erick (01:19:12):
Yeah, we appreciate it.
Just like I said, content andyou know, if you listen to the
last episode that I recentlyupdate, this was a monster.
We knew it was going to be bigbut it just took over like crazy
.
But so this is an email from MrChad Hanning.
He says good morning guys.
First of all, I love the show.
(01:19:33):
Listen.
Every week I've attached a fewphotos of my rig I've been
slowly working on for a littleover a year now.
Pedals are my own build withstainless cut pieces, stainless
cut pieces on my plasma tableand 3D printed parts.
I love it Stainless cut.
Jeff (01:19:50):
Stainless cut Dude.
I'm ashamed that I just did mylittle gadget with a switch on
it and this dude's plasmacutting his own brakes, hey man.
Jason (01:19:59):
I hope you smoothed that
over.
Man, that was slice somethingyeah.
Erick (01:20:05):
So he has some 3d printed
parts on there as well.
He says, as you can see lots ofother 3d printed pieces.
Most of them are my designsusing fusion.
The entire plywood portion ofthe rig is my design using
fusion, and my cnc routers also.
Oh yeah, he's.
He's serious about this oh manuh, he says just wanted to send
these over.
Yeah, knowing you were lookingfor feedback on the use of 3d
(01:20:28):
printers and sim racing.
Keep up the great work, chad.
We appreciate it and I'm gonnaoh yeah, chad.
Jeff (01:20:34):
Thank you, boss, yeah
something tells me chad knows
what he's doing with this stuff, like he uses this cnc stuff for
a living.
This isn't the type of stuffyou do in your spare time.
Erick (01:20:45):
Yeah, no, you don't just
go out and be like you know what
.
I don't know what CNC is, butI'm going to buy a machine.
Jeff (01:20:51):
I'm going to just start
doing it Plasma cutters, dude,
this is.
I love this stuff.
When somebody's like you knowwhat I think I can design
something that might be betterthan I can buy.
Erick (01:21:02):
Yep be better than I can
buy yep, and so and it's theirs
right?
Nobody else has something likethat look at this and you kind
of get to custom fit it, add asyou want.
I am a veteran of the woodenrig build so I've been there and
you know it.
It works, man is and it also isgreat.
Just you know, knowing that youthat's clean bro get to use.
Jason (01:21:24):
Is that a cigarette
ashtray?
What is that?
Erick (01:21:26):
I think it's probably a
cup holder.
Jason (01:21:28):
That's a big cup holder
dude.
Erick (01:21:31):
That might be an idea
though.
Jason (01:21:33):
That's a big cup.
We don't have that here inHawaii, man, I haven't heard
that in a long time.
Well, maybe we do, maybe we do.
I just don't go to 7-Elevenlike that.
Jeff (01:21:40):
Dude.
I like this stuff.
This is his set there ain'tnobody else that's got a setup
like that.
Erick (01:21:45):
Yep Got the iPad here as
well, probably can run a little
DDU action.
Jeff (01:21:51):
Yeah, man, he's a lovely
dash on that sucker.
Oh yeah, I bet he built thatlittle adapter himself too,
right, I mean that's got to becustom.
Yeah, definitely.
Erick (01:22:01):
A little ball joint on
there, coupler.
Jeff (01:22:03):
Coupler yeah.
Erick (01:22:05):
Rob Markman yeah, some
more 3D printed stuff in here.
Yeah, man, if you.
That's the thing I love aboutsim racing, especially when I
got in.
It's basically however you wantto go about it.
Jason (01:22:16):
Rob Markman.
If you got the drive, peoplewill find the way to get what
they want.
That's what I'm saying.
Jeff (01:22:22):
Dude, that's exactly why I
built that thing.
I was like I want something badenough that.
I'm going to figure out a wayto do it myself, because it
doesn't exist.
This dude took that to the nextlevel.
Erick (01:22:34):
Oh yeah, he did Killer
stuff dude.
Yeah, appreciate it, chad, andjust kind of, if you're thinking
about getting into it and youfeel like, oh well, I'm not
familiar enough with this, Idon't know enough about that,
whatever you know, you can startwith that and learn the
community's there.
Jason (01:22:54):
That's it.
Erick (01:22:55):
Yeah, I always say,
especially having been on
YouTube and the tech side for 10years, this community is
amazing.
There's no shame.
People just love helping youfigure out whatever's going on.
You got a problem, need help, just like we try to offer help.
(01:23:16):
That's kind of how it is, man.
Jason (01:23:21):
Hell yeah, chad.
That's what's up, man.
Keep us posted.
I want to see changes.
If you do any major overhauls, just reply to the email, send us
another email and let us know.
We'll cover it here because I'minterested.
I don't think I've seen a setuplike that.
It's very unique, right.
Erick (01:23:41):
Yeah, especially the
custom pedals.
Jason (01:23:43):
The whole thing is custom
built the entire thing.
You know, I'm just I think it'sawesome, man.
So we got we got another email, which I love, covering these.
Man, I really do.
