It's Cinco de Mayo right now.
Jason (00:54):
Cinco de Mayo.
Erick (00:57):
About to turn up, man,
that's what's up man.
Jeff (01:01):
Dude, this is my favorite
part of the week here chatting
with you gentlemen here.
That's what's up.
Man, dude, this is the myfavorite part, favorite part of
the week here chatting with yougentlemen here.
So I think we got like.
I think I counted the other day.
I think we're like, when thisairs, it'll be like 117 days to
the expo, not that, not thatanybody's counting yeah, yeah,
not at all, not at all.
Jason (01:15):
That is the worst thing
you can do, man, go by weeks,
bro.
Maybe the short to make it seema little shorter.
Jeff (01:23):
But I honestly I'm not
rushing it because you know I'm
out of a job coming around thattime so I gotta find a real job.
Jason (01:29):
Oh, you'll be fine you'll
be just fine yeah, you'll be
good man, yeah so, man, I'lltell you that today's an
exciting day.
It is not by calendar, but itis exactly a year ago the
Chicane podcast was born intolight and it was published for
(01:50):
the very first time.
And I still can't believe thatit's been a whole year.
It doesn't feel like that.
It feels like six months.
Man, what do you guys?
How does it feel for you guys?
Like for real, bro?
Erick (02:02):
I'll tell um.
For me it feels like a blur, like I feel like it feels like
we were just setting up andtrying to decide.
You know what the format wasgoing to be, cause we'll go into
it, but you know even justdeciding whether we're going to
do video or not, cause we didn'tstart out.
Jason (02:18):
Oh yeah, and the length
too, we couldn't figure out.
We're still trying to figureout what day to record.
Just today I was like man,we're going to have to delay.
It's just that, you know, weall have the responsibility that
I get that and we're indifferent time zones and we're
lucky to have Eric and have himat least once a week doing this,
(02:42):
because I have to give it up tohim.
You know, it's always late ashell and I always feel bad when
I can't make it or if I have topush a few minutes.
It's like damn, like I'mdigging into the man's sleep.
You know what I mean, oh man.
Erick (02:57):
I'm locked in man Jeff is
down the street.
Jason (02:59):
You know, jeff and I
we'll just figure it out.
Like'll be, like, yeah, we'llcome out at 9 o'clock, that's
like 3 o'clock in the morning, for you and Eric, because we
could.
It would have been a lot easierif you could move to Hawaii,
eric.
I'd get you a job here, man.
Erick (03:14):
Hey man, everything's an
option, you're right, that is an
option.
Jason (03:19):
I'm telling you, man,
we'll get you a Spambus OB and
you'll be happy, happy camper.
Jeff (03:23):
Life is good.
Erick (03:24):
That's it.
Yeah, year-round golf weather,I'll take that.
Jason (03:29):
Oh my God, golf, don't
get me started, it's year-round
whatever you want weather, justnot skiing.
We have to drive.
I counted, and it's eight golfcourses to get to my house.
That is so painful because ifyou don't have time to play,
that is so painful because ifyou don't have time to play,
you're watching other people outthere in their car smoking
(03:49):
cigars, freaking oh man, I beplaying Early in the morning too
.
You're going to work andthey're out there, bro, 6
o'clock in the morning, they'reout there already.
Erick (03:56):
I'm telling you that's a
good tee time, man, On a weekday
.
Oh yeah, yeah yeah, I live inthe Hawaii life for real.
Jason (04:03):
Ah, you know it's.
We're lucky, we're lucky to behere, we're lucky to be around
that.
So maybe you visit one day andwe'll spoil you.
Every other day we'll pick adifferent course.
You know, that's kind of nice.
Erick (04:17):
Oh yeah, I got to get in
shape for that.
Still working out, stillhealing up on this injury man.
Jason (04:24):
Oh man, yeah, I'm sorry.
Healing up on this injury, man.
Oh man, yeah, I'm sorry to hearthat it's kind of unfortunate,
but today, man, go ahead.
Go ahead, eric.
Let's hear it.
I was going to say I've beenhurt doing worse stuff.
Yeah man, yeah man, I rememberyou used to be a gym head back
in the day.
I remember Hell yeah, Iremember Blue was all stocky and
(04:45):
that's what I used to call himBlue you still got it, bro, you
still got it, you still got it,you good.
Jeff (04:52):
Responsibilities and a job
and a family and expensive
hobbies Soccer he's got soccer.
Jason (04:59):
He's got golf.
He's got barbecuing he loves tobarbecue.
He's got that big ass lawn toothat you got.
It take like two days to cut,hey man out his rain.
Erick (05:12):
Man, I'm terrified to get
out there.
We're storming here like crazyson.
We gonna see almost an acre man.
It's nice.
Jason (05:19):
Yeah, you need to like
lay down some concrete there and
put a jacuzzi, but anyways-.
Erick (05:26):
You be talking to my wife
.
Jason (05:30):
This episode is going to
be a very special one.
We're going to go over thehistory of the Chicane Podcast.
I mean, it's a kind of apleasure to walk you through the
story.
So, without further ado, I willget this started, because it
kind of started here and a fewideas along the way, of course.
(05:52):
So, anywho, I was currently atmy job and I was taking on a
different job.
I was celebrating my 10th yearof anniversary and I was headed
down to Mexico.
So I get a random email from aJeff Smart that says hey man, I
heard you're into sim racing andI was like who the hell is this
(06:15):
guy?
Jeff (06:16):
This is through our like
my official military email
account.
Yeah, and.
I'm like official work emailaccount.
Jason (06:23):
Yeah, like my work, all
my stuff, and I'm like, bro, who
is this?
And then this gentleman that weboth know, which I won't
mention his name, he came up tome and he's like, yeah, I know
that guy.
I was the one that talked tohim about you and I was like I
could say his first name.
I was like Dave, what the hellare you doing, bro?
I'm about to, I'm leaving, bro,I can't help this guy, I can't
(06:46):
help him.
So, jeff, knowing being nowthat I know him, it makes sense
now, but knowing Jeff, hecouldn't take no for an answer.
Dude.
Jeff (06:52):
I was relentless.
For a couple of days he waslike bro status like where are?
Jason (06:55):
we, I'm like what the
fuck I'm like.
Who is this guy?
So I get home and I'm packingto leave I think I leave the
very next day and I start typingmessages and telling him all
right, so what is the budget?
What are you trying to do?
What do you like?
What got you into it?
(07:16):
Trying to figure out how tobuild, how to get his build
started.
And then he's typing back to meand I got tired of typing
because that's a lot, it's a bigconversation, you know, yeah,
so then I started leaving voicemessages to him.
I left him like jeff I don'tknow if you could dig back, but
this must have been like over100 easily, maybe hours, maybe a
(07:39):
podcast worth of of content.
Jeff (07:42):
That spoke Honestly I
think that's how it really
probably started was like I'dwake up and have like 20 minutes
of voicemail messages that I'dlisten, going into work about PC
builds Do you want to rig?
You want to rig, you don't wantto fold up.
(08:02):
Basically our first 10 episodesI got personally messaged to
get out.
He got personalized.
Yeah, it was awesome.
Jason (08:10):
Yeah, and that's what he
told me.
He said, and I have to be trueabout this, but half of those
messages I was drunk out of mymind because I was in Mexico.
Erick (08:21):
I was in an all-inclusive
hotel.
Jason (08:22):
I was ordering drinks and
I'm like hold on one second.
Erick (08:26):
I'm in the pool and.
Jason (08:28):
I'm leaving them messages
.
All right, listen.
And my wife was like who areyou talking to?
Jeff (08:34):
Like I don't even know who
I'm talking to.
Jason (08:37):
Yeah, and that's the
thing.
I've never seen Jeff's face atthis whole entire time.
I'm going out of the goodnessof my heart because I know the
gentleman that I worked with andI know the gentleman that kind
of vouched for him.
That was the only reason.
If not, jeff would have beenblocked and I would have moved
on with my life.
That's reality.
I would have been like yeah, man, yeah, check out the
(09:00):
SimRacing Den for reviews.
Rob Markman.
Erick (09:02):
Yeah, so Rob.
Jason (09:05):
Markman, google it man.
Rob Markman, check out the simracing den for reviews.
Erick (09:07):
Yeah.
So, man, yeah, or google someai or something.
But I want to say that thatjust shows just how passionate
you are, man, because you're inmexico, celebrating in a pool,
all inclusive, drinking all thedrinks you want, got your
beautiful wife by you and you'remessaging Jeff's ugly face
about a sim rig.
That's how passionate you areabout it, man.
(09:30):
I respect that, rob.
Jason (09:33):
Markman Jr, I mean, I
appreciate it and you know what?
This isn't the first iterationand Eric can tell you.
I've been trying to get Ericover to the sim racing thing for
a long time, way before thepodcast, and it was kind of the
same thing.
The thing is that Eric knows meand he knows how to dodge a
(09:54):
bullet.
He knows how to dodge it.
Jeff (09:57):
Jeff wasn't ready.
Erick (09:58):
Jeff wasn't prepared.
I'm sorry, jeff.
Jason (10:02):
He unloaded on you, man,
when Jeff finally sat down bro
and started putting the figurestogether.
He was like wait a minute,we're going to have to If you
gave me that memo, I'd havegold-plated walls and stuff.
Yeah so it was kind of back andforth.
I had our Sim rig and then Ericwas playing GT7.
(10:24):
He was obsessed with GT7.
The man ran out to Home Depotand put some freaking two by
fours that it didn't even fit.
It was sticking out the window.
Remember you were holding itlike this and you took a selfie
and I was like what the hell iswrong with this.
Erick (10:41):
I had to get home.
Jason (10:42):
I'm going to put a
picture up here, man I swear we
got to get home.
I'm going to put a picture uphere, man I swear we got to get
that picture, Eric we got to getthat picture.
Erick (10:48):
Yeah, I'll find it.
Jason (10:50):
Yeah, yeah, I'll put it
up here in the magic in the post
.
We'll see it.
So, anyway, back to the story.
Back to the story.
So long, story short.
(11:21):
One of the messages that Jeffsaid to me was man, it's like I
have my own podcast, just likehe said.
But then a few years ago we'retalking maybe seven, eight years
ago, eric, my brother, mybrother and I were talking about
starting a podcast.
Remember that, eric?
But we didn't know what it wasgoing to be.
We didn't know I didn't have arig.
Back then we were just consoleguys.
We were going to talk aboutconsole games and phones and
hardware and stuff, but it justnever happened.
So years later I found myinspiration and then, as soon as
(11:43):
he mentioned that I, I just gotthe idea and I said, all right,
I'm gonna have to figure out away to make this happen.
So I came back from mexico andthen I started my new job.
So it kind of sat for a littlebit and then, um, I started that
looking.
I started looking at man, what's out there?
What sim sim racing podcastsexist?
(12:04):
Is it even worth my time, right?
So then I started looking and Ididn't find many, many podcasts
.
I mean there's, they're outthere, but not a U S base, not
that I know of, not not at thislevel.
And I said, man, we candefinitely.
There's definitely space for ashow, um, at this caliber,
especially now with all thehardware that's coming out and
(12:26):
everything.
And I said, man, if I can dothis for Jeff, I can do this for
many people.
To make you save money, to kindof stop you from overspending
like I did.
Jeff (12:40):
You know I spent Well, the
lessons learned that you went
through right.
Jason (12:43):
Yeah, exactly yeah.
Jeff (12:45):
So exactly yeah.
Jason (12:51):
And then it's kind of
like that was the idea started
out that way.
And then started talking toEric.
Eric was all for it.
Eric's like man, I've beentelling you to start a YouTube
channel, I've been telling youto get on Twitch, I don't know
what you've been waiting for.
And I was like man, I've beentelling you to start a YouTube
channel, I've been telling youto get on Twitch, I don't know
what you've been waiting for.
And I was like well, I don'tknow man, I just, you know, I do
this stuff for me.
I built the rig for me.
(13:11):
We all build rigs for ourselves.
We didn't build it to makemoney or to start up a content
channel.
We didn't do it that way.
That is the truth.
That is the honest truth righthere.
Erick (13:23):
Yeah, that's a new thing
really so Tegan.
Jason (13:34):
I was just saying that's
a new thing, really, like having
a simulation channel, you know, and that being like a big deal
for a lot of people.
It's a benefit now because Ihave a rig now and I can kind of
, you know, do some.
You have a rig now.
You have your PC, you have yourstuff, you have your PC, you
have your stuff.
So then Eric and I starttalking about it and we start
talking about the platform, start talking about options and
we start talking about names.
And I gave Eric three names, remember Eric Yep.
(13:57):
One of them was going to beDirty Chicane yeah, one of them
was going to be the Chicanepodcast, and one of them I
forget the other one, but when Imentioned the Chicane podcast
he said hold on, stop.
Erick (14:11):
Remember, that was it man
.
Jason (14:14):
Eric was like stop, this,
is it right here?
This is it Chicane podcast?
So then I started doing all theartwork and Nürburgring is part
of our background on the logoand that came from Eric, because
Eric's favorite track isNurburgring and I said, let me
kind of do this logo and kind ofgive him that little piece.
(14:37):
So then Jeff is on vacation.
While this is happening, thesetalks are happening, he goes on
vacation back home and I hit himup and I'm like Jeff, I really
want you on the show, I want tointerview you so we can get your
side of the story.
It wasn't really planned to haveJeff as a third permanent guest
(15:01):
because we already had twoepisodes.
But when I mentioned thepodcast to him he was like dude,
I'm all in, I'm all in, I'm allfor it, I'm going to order a
mic right now.
And I get off the phone and Ilook up and there's a picture of
a mic order and I was like, oh,okay, so he's way more than
just a guest.
He's coming on the show, hewants to be here, he wants to
(15:24):
give his side of the story andhis thing was F1.
He's like, if I can just talkabout F1, just give me a segment
on F1.
Remember, jeff was like, justgive me my part, I'll cover F1
news, because back then we werekind of obsessed with F1.
It was new Not new, but Driveto Surv.
We were kind of obsessed withf1.
It was like, really it was new, like not new, but drive to
(15:47):
survive was kind of like duringa peak of covid.
You know, it's kind of like wewere all hooked on it.
Jeff (15:53):
You know, big time I think
, jason, your big thing that you
started with was hey, like ouraudio is going to be top notch
right and and I think out thegate that was, you know, great,
for you know thinking into the,you know about what you wanted
the show to kind of be.
(16:14):
You know, like, hey, if we'regoing to do it, if you're like,
if you're going to put theeffort in, you wanted it to be
quality product, not just dudeschatting over a studio Exactly.
Jason (16:24):
And I wanted two things
because we didn't want, First of
all, Eric's question.
His first question was remember, Eric, Are we doing video?
Yeah, Because he didn't want todo video.
He was like there's a lot ofstuff with video.
It's harder to do videobecause-.
Erick (16:44):
It takes a lot more prep.
Yes, you got a lot more movingpieces.
Jason (16:48):
There's a lot of things
that can go wrong with video.
If I just did audio, if we justdid audio, this would be a
cakewalk, because all I need todo is find a quiet room and a
nice microphone.
I'm good Now.
We got to get all dressed up.
We got to get all pretty foryou.
I'm good Now, we got to get alldressed up.
(17:15):
We got to get all pretty foryou.
I'm kidding.
So Jeff buys a mic, comes on thethird show and I'm glad he did,
because he's proven to be oneof.
He has that character abouthimself and there's a special
thing with that.
It kind of blends well.
And then Eric has thischaracter and we all kind of
blend with each other.
And that's what the Chicanepodcast is is the three of us
blended together talking aboutsim racing.
(17:36):
And it's because we've beendoing it it's not something that
we plan or we don't plan to dothat we get together, we start
talking about, about.
Jeff invites me over to hishouse with his family and
everything.
Five minutes into theconversation with the wives we
ended up talking about yeah, sowhat about the steering wheel?
What do?
Jeff (17:58):
you think, am I right?
Jason (17:58):
bro, yeah, what about?
Jeff (18:00):
this.
And then it was like dude, thisis so a quick sidebar here.
It's like they, can we guyscome over on like a?
I don't know, it's like athursday night or something.
It was like, dude, this is soquick Sidebar here.
It's like can you guys comeover on like a?
I don't know, it was like aThursday night or something, it
was a Friday night, but I gotlike a nine month old at this
point, like so my night istotally different than jason's
night.
At this point, jason is gettinghammered with my parents
(18:21):
because they were out visitingtill like three in the morning
bro.
Jason (18:25):
His parents can hang.
Bro.
Like jeff was knocked the hellout.
Jeff (18:29):
I was like little dude
don't give a shit if you're up
late.
Little dude's getting up when alittle dude wants to get up
your mom and dad are amazingpeople.
Jason (18:37):
I'll say it live on the
show here.
Jeff (18:38):
They are awesome.
Jason (18:40):
They're good people.
But I'll tell you one thingyour mom, she's a straight
gangster bro, the bottle ran outoutside and I'm like, and I'm
looking at the bottle and I'mlike, yeah, I'm like, and I'm
looking at the bottom, I'm like, yeah, I'm looking at my wife.
I'm like, yeah, maybe it's timeto.
You know, it's kind of late.
You know, I don't want tooverstay our welcome here.
(19:04):
His mom is in the kitchenmaking leftover hot dogs.
She's like where are you going?
Erick (19:13):
Says he's keeping the
party going Bro.
Jason (19:16):
I was like this is insane
.
That's insane.
That's a lot of energy.
So God bless them Really.
God bless them.
They're awesome people.
I really do appreciate it whenthey're around, it's even better
.
Jeff (19:30):
The party just keeps going
, Awesome people awesome people.
Jason (19:33):
So then we started with
the audio, we started with the
audio, we started with the audioand then we had our first guest
on the show.
And our very first guest on theshow was Constantinos from the
Lovely Dashboard.
He was the first one to supportthe Chicane podcast and he was
the first one to appear on a.
(19:53):
Well, it was his first time ona podcast for himself and it was
also the first time that hethat a video, that we started
video Right, and I'll give youthe story on this one, but we
started video for that veryfirst um time right with him.
So then I'm figuring out thevideo logistics and this guy is
(20:19):
in Greece, eric is in Alabama, jeff and I are in Hawaii, and
he's like, dude, I have thesethree days and then after that I
can't do it.
That's what he told me.
Erick (20:32):
Yeah.
Jason (20:33):
So we started recording.
Erick (20:38):
It wasn't like he was
just being a hard ass or nothing
like that.
Jason (20:40):
His schedule just
wouldn't allow it.
Erick (20:41):
Rob Markman Just wouldn't
allow it.
Yeah, rob Markman.
Yeah, he was like this is whatI got, because he wanted the
support Rob Markman.
Jeff (20:46):
He was changing his life
around to focus solely on Rob
Markman, ld Rob.
Jason (20:51):
Markman.
Jeff (20:52):
Yeah, absolutely the
dashboard.
So it was a difficult time forhim personally and
professionally but you know, so,yeah, to take for him to take
time out of his life and thenput like his, like you know, the
the lovely dashboard reputationwith a bunch of, really, at the
time, jason, we were kind oflike, not that we're super
(21:12):
proven now, but we were supernew on the scene and for him to
like take, you know, go outthere and put his you know his
face and you know, lovelydashboard, you know his brand
his brand, yeah, brand, that'swhat you know and support, uh,
you know, uh, us, that was likeyou know.
That speaks leaps and boundsinto who he is as a person.
(21:35):
Oh, a%?
Jason (21:36):
Definitely I have a.
I mean, I've been friends withthe man for long times when he
started, so that's kind of howwe got you know he trusted a
little bit, but still, I was newto video.
We didn't have anything figuredout.
I had a.
I bought a brand new camerajust for that day yeah, I
(21:59):
remember that you know, and I'djeff overnight yeah,
overnighting packages.
He's like he's gonna be onthursday.
If the ups man don't come, I'mgonna kill him.
So so we're out here scramblinger.
Eric is a content creator foryears.
He's like oh, I got that, hejust set his camera up, I got
(22:19):
seven of these things.
Erick (22:20):
Yeah, I set it up.
I'm like I don't have abackground.
Jason (22:24):
Yeah he didn't have a
background, that's true, he's
like I don't care.
I said I don't care about thebackground, we need to get this
on video.
We need to get 4k on video.
So then we start recording.
It was a saturday, saturdaymorning, saturday morning for us
, and like 30 minutes into theepisode the whole thing crashes.
(22:46):
Yeah, his story, everything.
Just something went foul andwent bad and it crashed and I
couldn't figure it out and Ididn't want to make the man do
it again.
I said, listen, we're going topostpone another day because
people have things to do as well.
I think Jeff had somethinggoing on, eric had something
(23:07):
going on.
Even myself I had something Ihad to do that day and I was
like, oh snap, so we got one day.
So fast forward.
Sunday comes around.
We use a different platformwith a free trial, stopped all
the upload, did every singletrick on the book that's on the
internet and it worked out.
(23:28):
And then I was stuck till threeo'clock in the morning editing
something that I don't know howto edit and doing sound checks
and all kinds of stuff to thingsthat I don't know how to edit,
and doing sound checks and allkinds of stuff to things that I
don't know about, and that wasthe biggest stress I've ever
been in my life, because Ididn't want to fail him.
He trusted us and I didn't wantto fail him.
(23:49):
That was all I could thinkabout.
I was like I cannot let thisfail.
I cannot let this fail.
If I fail, I'm a failure.
I was like I cannot let thisfail.
I cannot let this fail.
If I fail, I'm a failure.
That's it, this is it.
You know what I mean.
So the video is not our bestvideo, but it actually came out
really good and it is featuredon his website, which I still to
this day.
If you go to lovely dashboardLSD not LSD, excuse me, lsr,
(24:12):
lsrgg and you go to his aboutpage, you can find the very
first Chicane podcast video.
And I was so excited, like Imentioned it like a hundred
times.
We're on video now, we're notjust on the radio waves and
that's kind of what spiked it,man, I mean.
And that's kind of what spikedit, man, I mean.
(24:35):
From then on, we just focusedon improving the video quality.
I know I could be a hard ass.
The guys here could tell youabout the sound checks and video
and the lights flickering andthere's a piece of paper in the
back, any little thing, and it'sbecause I care about this.
(24:56):
I believe in it.
The Chicane Podcast is aproduct that I believe in, and I
believe in and I want toprotect it for sim racers.
And that's where we're at, man.
What do you guys?
Jeff (25:09):
I just wish everybody knew
the effort that you put in
after the recording's over Allof us, though because it, like
the polished you know productthat you see that gets posted on
monday mornings, just doesn'thappen by magic, right, there is
a lot of post product or youknow post recording stuff that
you do, jason, and uh, you know,I I think sometimes we take
(25:33):
stuff that's on youtube forgranted the amount of work
that's behind the scenes thatyou do for this thing.
Erick (25:38):
Oh yeah, definitely.
That's that kind of harks backto the original question I asked
Do you want to do audio or doyou want to do video?
Right, because, like I say, even for me, I've done a lot of
videos, but I don't do videos ofmyself normally, like we're
trying to incorporate that now,but just the the amount of
effort and prep and variables, things that can go wrong with
(26:01):
video once you add that in andthen you have to edit it, you
have to make it look interesting.
It's not just about soundinggood, it's got to be visually,
you know, interesting.
And I mean the the time this isthe amount of time that you've
been doing this and the productsthat we get, the quality that
we get.
As somebody who's tried to makeinteresting videos and gone
(26:24):
down that path, I tip my hat toyou.
Man, I'm not being cheesy ornothing like that, but you'll
show me something You'll be likehey, man, watch this clip or
look at this.
What do you think about this?
Jason (27:05):
no-transcript.
The show is all three of us.
Jeff (27:16):
Yeah, that's just the fact
.
I think you're right.
Yeah, that's the soul I meanit's really three guys.
You polished us up, man, forreal, you made us look good.
I think it's three guys thatjust have a shared passion and
it's ultimately just us talkingabout our passion of sim racing.
We have a loose format that wetalk about and it's three guys
(27:38):
that are just talking and like.
When I listen to it in the carsometimes it's just like I feel
like I'm like another dude withthe guys listening.
Jason (27:42):
You know, talking about
sim racing and I find myself
doing it dude what our listenersappreciate is that just like?
Jeff (27:49):
yeah, like, these are my
friends that I talk with and I'm
just listening to them talkabout stuff that I like.
Erick (27:55):
Yeah, that's what makes
it not feel like work, cause
we'll be talking.
Oh no, this is the fun part, this right here.
Jason (28:02):
Yeah, this is the fun
part.
It's just as the as the clockis ticking.
I'm looking at the clock outthere and I'm like, yeah, yeah,
and then I'm just like, allright, and you know, you guys
been great.
I mean, I tell you I got togive kudos to both of you.
Jeff is always coming up withmost of the interview questions.
He's always got that down patand it shows.
(28:24):
Eric is always kind ofmonitoring what I'm doing on the
show too.
He'll mark something for me andI go and check and I'm like,
man, you saved me like 15minutes.
I just go to the mark or youtry to assist me and you know,
as a co-host, should you know.
So you guys, I mean I reallyappreciate you guys, I really do
, I really do, I.
I think it wouldn't be as funright, excuse me it wouldn't be
(28:49):
as fun without, without the twoof you.
So I mean, we're here now andour quality I don't think I'm
still trying to find ways toimprove the quality, believe it
or not.
And same thing with thestreaming.
Eric was like the streamalready looked good and I was
like no, hey look, I'm tellingyou this.
Erick (29:12):
I'm biased.
But also, even if you're notbiased, check out Jason's
streams.
Man.
Check out Treygo Simracing, the.
He's doing things on his streamI didn't know you could do like
the interactiveness.
It's good being able to changelayouts and stuff like that.
Like that's like dang, this isclean.
(29:34):
Yeah, I mean, let me tear downall my stuff and start over.
Jason (29:40):
The thing is, if any of
you call me and ask me how to do
it, I'll walk you through andyou already know I would.
Jeff (29:46):
That's the God's honest
truth, right there.
Jason (29:48):
I'm telling you you give
me a call and you ask me how to
do this.
I'll walk you right through.
I could be hard on you too, though, because if I believe
that you know how to do it, Jeffif I believe that you could do
it, then I'm going to make youdig for a little bit and I'm
like all right.
And if you're stuck, stuck, then I'm going to be like all
right, get on a FaceTime call, let's figure this out.
(30:10):
And it's because I feel likethis is just a personal thing,
but I feel like we learn bytinkering.
That's how we learn.
We learn by clicking everysingle freaking button and
figuring out what this does andwhat does it do without breaking
it.
Erick (30:28):
Yeah, sometimes you ever
watch the video of a?
Jason (30:31):
how-to and they say first
unplug this wire and then you
hit pause and you unplug thewire and then you hit play, but
whatever you do, don't unplug itbefore you unplug the green one
.
You're like shit.
Exactly, that's exactly how itgoes.
You screwed it up.
Erick (30:50):
So that's kind of the
same analogy.
Jason (30:53):
You know analogy, uh,
mentality, with that so and then
so.
That's that's kind of how agood portion of our year went,
cause that went on for a longtime and we're kind of on a flow
now that works really well.
I'm really happy with the waywe have this going.
It makes it makes doing thoseedits and those jobs a lot
(31:15):
easier, because I can rely onyou and I can say all right, so
audio should be 99%.
I mean, we have families, wegot kids, noises happen around
the house.
I fix those.
I make sure that they episodesare uncut, meaning there is no
(31:38):
cutting in our episodes andthere is no scripting in our
episodes.
This is straight.
I don't have a.
I wish you could see.
I don't have a single piece ofpaper on my desk right now.
Erick (31:50):
This is all up here.
Jason (31:51):
Yeah, conversation like
unless we're going over a
product product or we're talkingshit about EA.
That's all up here.
Jeff (32:00):
You know it is pretty cool
and you know it's almost like
hard to believe that it's been50.
This is what, 54?
And we've stopped recordingtwice, maybe three times, and
that's I think two of them werebecause, like one of us, were
laughing as we started therecording, Two of them were
because one of us were laughingas we started the recording, and
then the plus to the one withMs Constantinos, which would be
(32:21):
the third.
Jason (32:21):
Or a camera died or
something.
Jeff (32:23):
Yeah, you hit, go and we
go.
Jason (32:28):
Yeah, we hit go, we kind
of transform, we get into the
mode of podcasting and thenthere's the after podcast,
because we always have an afterone, we have a before one and
I'm always telling the guys I'mlike, guys, don't talk about
that, that's good stuff Put iton the show.
Erick (32:45):
That's exactly right.
Jason (32:47):
Especially afterwards.
Erick (32:49):
Why didn't you say that
on the show?
Jason (32:51):
Yeah, man.
Erick (32:52):
I hadn't thought of it
yet.
Jason (32:55):
I want to go over some of
the accolades.
I call this accolades, I guess.
But we've had Konstantinos onthe show.
We've had Danny Newman racingon the show.
Jeff (33:05):
Isn't that wild?
Isn't that wild?
Yeah, like some of the namesyou're about to riddle off, go
ahead, I'm sorry.
Jason (33:11):
No, you're good, bro.
We've had V Sanchez thatemailed us asking us to join the
league out of nowhere, and herewe are promoting a GRL.
We're doing three hour raceswith Michael from the Sim Racing
, then, which is another personthat reached out met him.
Erick (33:36):
Now.
Jason (33:36):
I talk to him daily.
I was drunk in Japan and he wastexting me over Discord about
the active pedal.
The announcement came out thatthe pro came out and he was like
dude.
I couldn't tell you, but I'mglad you waited, but I couldn't
tell you.
He's like I've been having thispro pedal in the house for like
a month now.
I'm like shit, Nike, We've hadDaniel Morad, Daniel Morad.
Erick (33:57):
Daniel Morad on the show
a two time champion wild Rolex
24 hour two Rolexes he went likethat two Daytona, two time
Daytona winner go ahead.
Jeff (34:11):
I'll let you finish before
I we're almost done.
Go ahead who else we had Eric, you covered the rest.
Who else we've had on the show?
I'll let you finish before Ikind of sit down, rob.
Jason (34:17):
Markman Jr.
We're almost done.
Rob Markman Jr.
Yeah, yeah, go ahead, go, go go.
Rob Markman Jr.
Who else we had?

Every creation you can reachout to him he's making some cool
shit.
Jeff (34:35):
We had him on the channel,
Dude, when you got.
The vast majority of commentsare saying Neil's a legend.
Jason (34:41):
Yeah, wrong.
Erick (34:43):
That's the top shot of
that.
I'm telling you man, yeah, likefor real, neil's super cool man
and that's.
I think that's everybody.
Jason (34:52):
No, we had.
Jeff (34:53):
Daniel Killian as well.
Man, we had Mr Killian.
Yeah, astrological Pushes outkiller content man Killer.
Jason (34:56):

got those crazy camera views and
pop up, so shout out to him.
Jeff (35:07):

together.
Jason (35:08):

also had the owner and founder
of the Sim Gaming Expo, georgeAnzaldo, come on to the show
which is George if you'relistening.
Jeff (35:20):
Take a deep breath.
Get some sleep.
He's still not sleeping, bro.

Jason (36:43):
Shout out to lovely
SimRacing All of them man,
Michael from the SimRacing Den.
Jeff (36:52):
Gentlemen, did you guys
get the same?
I don't know what the feelingis, but when one of our guests,
especially you know, like danielmorad, the sim racing den, you
know, constantinos dnr like whenthey pop up in the studio and
you're like, holy shit, likeI've watched hours of these
dudes videos, yeah, and nowthey're there, their studio is
(37:13):
in our little you know, like abunch, a bunch of dudes that are
just sitting here making shitup, talking about our hobbies.
They're like who are we?
You know they're somebody.
Erick (37:24):
And then they'll say,
yeah, I like the podcast.
I've been listening to it andit's like this is crazy man.
There's that.
Jason (37:30):
You talking about our
podcast?
Yeah, I'm telling you, it'swild man, I'm going to tell you
one thing about this right now.
What do you guys think out ofall those guests?
What do they all have in commonwith each other?
I want you to think real quick.
Just give it, Just tell meright now, and if you don't,
I'll spill it.
They're all down to earth.
Jeff (37:53):
Oh, I was going to say
they're all just good dudes,
they're all nice, just goodpeople, good humans.
Jason (37:57):
I've never had a guest
that went foul or south on this
show Never.
Yeah we can say that, and eachand every one of them wants to
come back to the show, which isweird.
I was like, well, not weird, but they're like dude.
We got to do this again.
Daniel bro, I'll show you themessage.
He's like yo.
Let's come on, I'll just be inthe background.
Erick (38:18):
I'll just be in the
background.
Jason (38:19):
Come on down to the show.
Man Hang out.
Jeff (38:22):
He is living large with
the McLaren right now, baby.
Jason (38:24):
Oh yeah.
Erick (38:25):
Big time Living the dream
man for real, oh yeah.
Jason (38:30):
Yeah big time.
So that's part of it.
We've had some funny momentslike that.
(38:52):
We had some wild stuff happen.
You know my intro just getting.
I'm trying.
It's a long pause, but I thinkI'll start with this one, this
one question for y'all what'sbeen in the last year?
What do you think has been ourmost memorable moment?
(39:13):
It could be anything.
It could be anything you canthink of.
The answer is the first thingyou just thought of.
Right now, just let that outand I'll go first.
Okay, okay, no, no please Goahead, Jeff.
Jeff (39:31):
Like you know, we try to
record every Monday and it's
just an awesome time to talkabout something.
One of our passions, with twogood friends is really what this
episode, this, this whole thingis, is just talking about sim
racing with our, with yourbuddies, and we shoot the shit.
We have a good time.
(39:52):
We talk about, you know, thingsthat are relevant to topics and
current events with sim racing, but but it's just hanging with
the boys.
You know, like Eric, you'rehalfway around the world and we
sit here and talk with you.
You know, for two hours a week.
I've never met Eric that is myboy by itself, but it's just
like.
Jason (40:10):
But I see him more than I
see both of y'all, more than
anybody, because we're here onlike two hours a week.
Erick (40:16):
Yeah, but I still never
met Eric.
We're going to change that soon, man.
We.
I still never met Eric.
We're going to change that soon, man, we're going to change
that soon.
Jason (40:22):
Yeah, it's just the
relationship.
Jeff (40:23):
Like Jason, we went out,
you know, and your brother came
and you know we had one of the-.
Oh, that was awesome.
You've been out fishing now acouple of times.
We've had there is a trend herethat every time you go out in
the boat, we slay the fish thebest day fishing you were me Bro
.
His dad was like a magnet forthe fish he wanted to.
Jason (40:43):
We had like how many bait
fish we had?
We had like 20 of them suckers.
I call it the jacuzzi.
So Jeff's boat has a littleFish jacuzzi.
Jeff (40:52):
It's the live well.
Jason (40:54):
Yeah, the live well, and
I was like yo put them in the
jacuzzi, so they're swimming inthere in the jacuzzi, they're
hanging out and his dad is lookback, no, we can get more.
And we're hooking.
We were hooking like bro cast aline, come back up.
I had like one, two, three, four just hanging live bait and
jeff is like his eyes wide openwith the hook in his hand you
(41:15):
get live bait, your day is it'son fire.
Jeff (41:18):
It's gonna be a good day.
Rob Markman Jr.
Jason (41:19):
We caught four Mahi Mahis
, and they were 25, what 25, 27
pounders.
Jeff (41:26):
Yeah, I remember talking.
These are big Mahi Mahi yeah.
Jason (41:29):
Our biggest problem.
We ran out of ice.
That was our problem?
Jeff (41:33):
We could have, but we'd
still be out there slaying them.
Jason (41:36):
It was 9 AM and we were
done for the day.
Yeah, should have stayed, that's great we should have
filleted that guy and just atehim, and then and and use the
use it as job.
Erick (41:51):
yeah, man, for me, um,
I'll say, because you know me,
we talked about it.
Um, when we were talking about,uh, starting the podcast, right
, and just kind of you know weboth did some research to see
what else was out there, likeespecially when we were talking
about starting a podcast, right, and just kind of you know, we
both did some research to seewhat else was out there, like
especially when we were lookingat the names.
It's like okay, well, we got tomake sure nobody else is using
their name.
And very quickly you kind ofget to a point where you see
(42:15):
nobody's using this name really, but also there's just not a lot
to choose from.
Jason (42:21):
Right.
Erick (42:24):
So, with us knowing that
sim racing, especially in
america, was in its infancy, like it's still just getting
going, um, and then they're notbeing a podcast, the, to me, the
stamp of like you guys are inthe perfect place at the perfect
time was when constantinos wereto come on and with me being
new at the time to sim racing, especially on the PC side.
(42:45):
So just really kind of gettinginto the lovely dashboard and
SimHub and DNR and all thatstuff.
Jason (42:50):
Oh, you had no idea who
this guy really.
You were so new yeah.
Erick (42:54):
Yeah, I was so new.
Jason (42:55):
That's good.
Erick (42:56):
Yeah, I knew about what
he was doing like very fresh and
I was like still like in thatkind of like this guy is doing
all of this, like he's got, he'stied all this stuff together
like this is crazy.
Like in my mind I'm like he'sgot to be sim racing like
royalty and, to your point, earlier he gets on, he's talking
to us and he's like thanking usfor the opportunity and just
(43:16):
like a very humble, like youknow guy who's just passionate
about sim racing.
Who are you talking to?
Yeah, like and I hate to do it,but, being in the tech world,
there's a very clear likehierarchy, like anybody who's
big in the tech world not sayingpersonally, but just you know,
(43:36):
like a Samsung or Apple orsomebody like that Like they're
not just going to interact withanybody, right, I see?
Jason (43:41):
They're going to treat
with anybody right, I see you.
Erick (43:42):
They're they're going to
treat you.
You know you're being treateddifferently as a small creator
compared to a bigger creatorright, but to have people that
are literally the foundation ofsim racing today come on the
podcast and talk to us like, like, like.
We're like, value our opinion, value our time and enjoy
themselves.
To me that it's like just put ait it.
(44:08):
It really touched me as far asthe same race of community Cause
there's.
I talked to you about the techcommunity being yeah, I've got
my kind of toxic over there.
Huh, but in general it was just.
Jason (44:20):
I know.
Erick (44:21):
I know what you mean.
Yeah, for real, it's a goodToxic over there, huh.
Jason (44:23):
But in general.
It's just, I know I know whatyou mean.
Yeah, for real, it's a goodplace and that's the thing.
It's kind of magical right whenyou put it that way, because
when Constantinos was on theshow he shared some very
personal things with us.
You know what I mean.
And it's a story that's neverbeen told before and it was told
(44:45):
first on the Chicane podcast.
That just kind of took a thornand ran it through my heart and
said you cannot mess this up.
It's kind of like somethingtelling me you cannot mess it up
.
You cannot mess it up.
I called you guys up.
I was like man, I ain't gettingno freaking sleep.
I am not stopping until this isdone.
(45:09):
I don't care.
I did not care and I'll behonest with you guys.
I know a thing or two withsoftware and video editing.
But podcasting and tying audioand tying frames together, I was
all new to it.
(45:30):
I'm so happy that we pulled itoff.
We pulled it off.
I was excited.
I sent him clips.
I said you guys clip.
And you guys were like oh yeah,we got it done.
The many times we go onvacation and we record two or
three episodes to kind of whichyou guys never knew about.
(45:50):
The magic of the internet, themagic of scheduling.
Erick (45:55):
That's one thing, that's
another thing.
I tip my hat to you on, jason, the impressiveness of every
Monday at the same time.
Jason (46:07):
No, fail A whole year.
Guys, we haven't failed a month, a whole year.
Erick (46:11):
Every single Monday Same
time that is impressive bro.
I think, Like, I don't carewhat anybody else says.
If you create content, especially if you do video, that
is impressive.
Weekly.
Jeff (46:30):
For a year.
Jason (46:31):
I've had my days, though.
Jeff (46:32):
Me and you, for whatever
reason.
Life right, you guys pick me up, it's not all me.
Jason (46:37):
They pick me up.
I always text them today I havezero inspiration.
They pick me up.
I always text them like man, today I have like zero
inspiration.
And the guys pick me up.
They're like oh man, we gotthis, we got that, and that's
kind of that.
It's not all me.
I'm not perfect either.
So I appreciate the praises andeverything.
(46:58):
But I have to give it up to theco-hosts here, both of them,
jeff and Eric.
They carry some weight too.
It's not all me, so yeah, bro,and everything, but I have to
give it up to the co-hosts here, both of them, jeff and Eric.
They carry some weight too.
Erick (47:06):
It's not all me.
Yeah, bro, yeah, I think theJeff's point is kind of an
indicator of the love we allhave for what we're talking
about and just the camaraderieman it's amazing, and I was
talking to jeff about somethingsimilar.
Jason (47:25):
So jeff goes to singapore
and he has a bright idea.
He's like I'm gonna record thewhole thing and we're gonna put
it on the show dude.
Jeff (47:35):
Yeah, I mean a lot of the
people in the show don't know
that, like I was trying to getsomebody from the f1 teams like
behind the scenes like somebodyof no importance, like the dude
that cleans the wheels doesn'tchange the time that cleans the
wheel like for whatever.
For the teams I emailed everysingle team.
Many like the pr person, theperson that does the instagram,
all of these things.
(47:56):
How many I get reply?
Jason (47:59):
that's okay.
Yeah, that's okay because youknow, what that episode turned
out great.
Jeff (48:05):
I'll keep that episode
forever.
Jason (48:07):
Hell yeah, that's a
memory, dude, and you were
featured on the website, on the.
F1 website.
Jeff calls me up I don't knowwhat time it was for him.
He was in Singapore, hawaii, his latest shit.
He calls me up at a FaceTimewith a beer in his hand.
It's like nine o'clock in themorning and all I hear is a
(48:27):
freaking an F1 car just goingrah.
And I was like yo, that's dope.
And he's like I can't hear afucking thing.
Erick (48:39):
I gotta go.
Jason (48:41):
I was like, oh man, that
killed me.
You know, originally I got tobe fair here.
The original plan was for me togo with him.
Erick (48:50):
You were.
Jason (48:52):
I was supposed to go with
him, and then we got caught up
with some plans.
Jeff (48:57):
You got the new job and
the vacations you already had
planned.
Jason (49:00):
Yeah, yeah.
So to this day that hurts, because that was an amazing race
too.
We had the lizard on track thatwas burning up, remember that
stupid ass lizard.
Jeff (49:14):
He goes purple and seconds
.
Jason (49:19):
You know, we had a, it
was a good race.
It was a good race, goodweather.
Jeff (49:22):
It was great.
Yeah, it was a good race.
It was a good race.
Good weather it was great.
Jason (49:24):
yeah, it was a fantastic
experience yeah, it's so good
that you, you know you try to,you try to go back, but then I
don't know, yeah, something todo with, like inflation or, I
don't know, the prices, likewe'll find somewhere else, you
know, yeah, yeah my wife and Iactually think about going there
in the fall, not race related, but just a vacation there To
Singapore.
Jeff (49:43):
Yeah, singapore, singapore
and somewhere else.
Jason (49:46):
That's all right, don't
worry about that.
Jeff (49:49):
You know, like Thailand,
Taiwan, Philippines, you know,
just two stops out in thatportion of the world.
Jason (49:54):
Yeah, bro, that's easy.
Bro Too easy.
But yeah, man, too easy, butyeah, man.
So I guess my favorite part ofI guess I didn't, we kind of got
caught up with the mini storiesthat we've had my favorite part
of the show is doing the testcalls with some of the guests,
(50:20):
because some of theconversations that we've had in
there, you know, were funny orlike super interesting, and I go
through the same thing with theguys.
It's like don't tell me thisand put it on the.
Just keep that, just hold that, just kind of like a fight.
What is that movie called FightNight?
Or what is it Fight Club, fightClub.
(50:40):
Can you say exactly what youjust said, just exactly how you
said it, but on the show?
And then my other favoritething is it you know, I guess
it's a shared thing is hangingout with you guys and seeing you
guys.
Is there's really no otherperson I would?
I would rather do this with andyou know, reliability with each
(51:01):
other.
We have our own brand now wehave to.
Jeff (51:03):
We have our own chat, now
that we talk shit in all day and
uh eric, you woke up toprobably 300 text messages this
morning, or two times, I like topush jeff's buttons.
Jason (51:14):
He notices it george
russell's a nerd or some george
rus Russell memes and all kindsof stuff.
Erick (51:21):
And that was another
thing.
Yeah, that was another thing.
143 messages 143?
Jason (51:28):
Y'all were still going it
was still like doing the bats.
Erick (51:33):
The counter was just
going up.
Jeff (51:35):
I come out of work some
days and it's in the 80s.
Oh yeah, when I see my phonefor the first time and I'm like,
oh, the boys are going at itright now.
Yes, sir.
Jason (51:46):
Yeah.
So I mean, this is just as muchfun as it is informative for us
.
Like, we try to keep anythingwe go over.
We try to do a clear view andyou know, like a clear and
concise view, no bias.
Every human being is biased tosomething that's impossible to
(52:11):
be.
Oh, I'm unbiased.
That's a lie.
We all have our own preferencesdeep within our hearts, right,
but that's the beauty of thisshow.
The beauty of this show is thatwhen we look at it, you get
three points of view, it's notjust one point of view.
So you got Eric points of view, you got Jeff's point of view,
you got things that Jeff mayfind, you got things that I may
(52:32):
find.
Then Eric comes next week andhe's like yo, we found this, we
got to update this.
You know what I mean.
So you get six eyes onsomething and now going to this
expo, which I highly recommend, anybody that can make it, make
it.
Chicane 10 is still active.
Oh, and I'm being told, I hopeI can share this, I hope George
(52:55):
doesn't come after me for this.
But I'm proud to say thatChicane 10 by far has been the
number one promo code used forthe sim racing for the sim
gaming expo and we get zerokickback from it, and I wanted
it that way.
I want all the profits to go toGeorge, because George is
(53:17):
putting his life on the line, basically to get this thing
pulled together.
Erick (53:22):
Yeah.
Jason (53:22):
You know I don't want any
money or any nothing.
I just said, george, we'llpromote it, we'll push it out.
You know we'll support itBecause it's an expo that needs
to succeed here in the US.
Jeff (53:37):
We need to have that, 100%
, 100%.
Jason (53:39):
We need to have our own
expo.
We're the biggest consumer Ican promise you in the world,
especially in video games.
United States of America iswhere you want to be, is where
you want to be, is where themarket is, so shout out to him.
Thanks for letting me know thattidbit last minute.
I used it here.
(54:00):
So it doesn't matter.
Honestly, it doesn't matter ifyou use chicane 10 or you use
the sim, racing then has its own, it doesn't matter.
Erick (54:09):
We just want you to go,
yeah.
Jason (54:11):
Yeah, just go.
There is no boasting, nothing.
There is no money, nothing.
We just the more people I canmeet out there, we can meet out
there and hang out.
Dude, we're going to have aposse out there, I'm telling you
, man, it's going to be like 70people.
Jeff (54:24):
You know, jason, that's
you know to.
Your point is, yeah, go see allthe cool stuff and you know
like we were texting today, thatyou know like, oh, looking
forward to, you know, checkingout some motion, et cetera.
But also like just meeting thatmany people that are passionate
about the same thing.
You are with sim racing.
Like going to dinner talkingwith people about, yeah, their
rig, where they're good, howthey got into it, what they like
(54:44):
to drive.
You know like dinner, you knowa couple drinks at night, you
know.
Or going to get lunch withpeople, just people around the
country in the us of just otherpeople that are passionate you
know that's all separate from.
You know going to check out theexpo and the products and the
guest speakers.
You know supporting a fellowsim racer like george is one of
the most passionate sim racers, not just about an x.
(55:06):
You know putting on an expolike yeah, he did, like that's
that the uh I racing league, like one of the most in-depth.
You know like prizes and allthis other stuff too.
You know before he even put onthe expo.
So like there's three soliddata points on why you know he's
a sim racer you should try togo to this thing.
It's going to be an awesome timefor a whole bunch of different
(55:27):
reasons, like I just talkedabout.
Erick (55:29):
Yeah, and if you hadn't
checked out the episode with
George, make sure you go checkit out.
That's one of the things thatreally resonated with me.
With him, he's a sim racerfirst, and that's what you want
putting together this type ofexpo, somebody who's putting
their heart and soul intosomething they're passionate
about, not just trying to makemoney 100%, yeah, 100%.
Jason (55:48):
The guy ran a league,
like Jeff said.
Jeff (55:53):
He gave it up.
Right, he turned it off becausehe said, hey, this sim racing
should be bigger in the States.
I'm going to try to do it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And if there's one person thatis capable of it and is
passionate as somebody thatneeds to do it, that dude is in
was bored to do this thing.
He was the chosen, chosen.
Jason (56:13):
He is he is Neo from the
matrix.
He's the one, the one.
Erick (56:20):
He's the one you want
doing it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's the one,the one.
He's the one you want doing it.
Jason (56:23):
yeah, yeah, shout out to
George man for real big George
Anzardo shout out to all theguests that have been on the
show.
Jeff (56:30):
I really appreciate.
Jason (56:31):
I mean, we we definitely
have more coming, which is a
great thing.
I love having that's.
My favorite part is having a, aguest on the show and we get to
meet the creator, and thatmeans we get to meet the creator
, and that means you get to meetthat creator.
Right, that means you get to, Iguess, join us as we ask
questions with them.
But, yeah, that's going to be awrap for today, man.
(56:53):
I mean, it's our first yearanniversary.
Cheers everybody.
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate.
Glasses are up.
Yeah, we're a little empty overhere.
Cheers everybody.
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate.
Glasses are up.
Jeff (57:04):
Yeah, we're a little empty
over here.
Jason (57:06):
It's okay, we'll refill
later.
Jeff (57:08):
Cheers, gentlemen.
Jason (57:09):
Cheers.
So I would say cheers foranother year.
And you know, we got our firstsponsorship Trophy.
Ai is a sponsor of the show.
We got vip passes to thisgaming expo.
I think we're doing good thingshere.
(57:30):
I think we're in a good spot,and that's because of you all
you all supporting us and yeahyou know, that's because of
everyone that's following theshow and the amazing friends
that we've made, because all theguests that have been on the
show are our friends now andit's like people that frequent.
You know what I mean.
It's kind of nice to meetpeople.
(57:53):
It's like I have a whole other.
I don't know.
It's emotional, it's emotionalas hell.
Jeff (57:59):
I mean you get people that
comment, send emails, just
peripheral engagements with thecrew.
We get a lot of people thatcomment on the videos week in
and week out.
They just tell their feelingsabout like they were in here
talking with us in the studio.
Jason (58:15):
So it's just really cool
to see the reach that the show's
got and it's cool, dude, evenafter we do a two-hour session
with them, they sit there andit's crazy, they, they hang out
with us, yeah, and we're justlike going at it and the cameras
are off and some of the contentis like, damn, I wish that was.
(58:37):
I wish that was in the finalcut.
Um, yeah, but you know, maybeI'll do a blooper video.
Erick (58:45):
That's just a lot of work
, that's a lot of work To dig
through that.
That's a lot of content, yeah.
Jason (58:51):
And that's very, very,
very raw in there.
You know what I mean.
With YouTube we're 98% straight, no chaser.
There's some things you know.
Erick (59:04):
Yeah.
Jason (59:05):
But I should say we're
100% straight, no chaser.
Actually we're a little carefulwith the guests because we want
to make them feel comfortable,of course.
Jeff (59:13):
With the content and the
message we're trying to deliver.
Jason (59:16):
The message Exactly.
We might put a little raw ofhow we get there Exactly, you
know.
So I just yeah, I guess this isit.
We do have a question of theweek Track of the week again
postponed.
This episode is already peakingat our targeted time for this
(59:38):
week.
I think Eric wants to go overthe question and I'll let him
have it for this one that's heryeah.
Erick (59:45):
So, uh, this week's
question is from mr roy wheeler
uh, the subject is steeringwheels.
He says first, love the podcast.
We appreciate that, alwaysappreciate the love.
He says I look forward to itevery monday on my commute to
work, every monday, man, becausehell yeah, bro.
Uh, he says my question isabout steering wheels.
(01:00:05):
I keep fighting my temptation tobuy the uh bavarian alpha.
I add it to my cart then delete.
Next day add it to my cart, then delete, rinse and repeat.
He says I would like to knowwhat makes a high-end wheel
better than my current SimMagicGT Neo.
Obviously, I would assume buildquality.
But what else am I getting forthe extra $1,000?
(01:00:26):
I'm under no illusion that itwill make me faster.
The Bavarian Alpha is just sodamn sexy I can't take my eyes
off of it.
So basically, I'm wantingsomeone to talk me into buying
it.
Thanks, roy Wheeler.
Roy, we appreciate you Onceagain.
We know the amount of effort ittakes to write an email instead
of just doing a thumbs up or alike.
We appreciate those, but wealso know that this takes a
(01:00:49):
little more time out your dayand we appreciate it.
I have no experience with theBavarian, but I do have a
cinematic GT Neo.
That's near and dear to myheart, okay, but I do have a
cinematic GT Neo, that's nearand dear to my heart.
Okay, I have a similar questionbecause I've never, I've never
touched a wheel that you knowcosts more than a cinematic.
Jason (01:01:10):
No, we got to get you a
trophy wheel.
It's got to happen, Eric.
I don't care which one it is,but you need to have one.
Jeff (01:01:16):
I know, jason, you got
thoughts on this and I and I
have my thoughts.
Jason (01:01:19):
So I'm going to let you
go first.
Jeff (01:01:31):
Do you your thoughts on
this, and I and I have my
thoughts.
So I'm gonna let you go first,I'm gonna go first.
Yes, sir, so I, roy, I was inthe same exact shoes as you put
it in my cart.
The dudes here, no, they had tolisten to me like waffle back
and forth, like convince myselfnot to get it, um, and then I
got it and it was like why, whydid I wait so long?
Erick (01:01:42):
And here's the thing is
you look at the?
Jeff (01:01:46):
rig and it just speaks to
you Like I'm.
It doesn't.
I don't think it makes mefaster, but I enjoy it more.
I just think it's freaking cool.
Um, like my soul pack is justlike.
I don't know.
It's hard to put in words, butlike I walked past it and I'm
(01:02:09):
like, yeah, let me jump in there.
Like, and the wheel is whatprobably connects you to the the
you know your rig physicallyand maybe emotionally, cause
it's the part that you interactwith.
Um, and there's something aboutjust the design of the one that
you like you know, and it'sdifferent for everybody.
Like, I think I have the nicestwheel in the world.
Jason thinks the the you knowhis is the nicest wheel in the
(01:02:30):
world right, it didn't start outthat way, but now I do.
Jason (01:02:33):
What's that?
Yeah, yeah.
Jeff (01:02:36):
Um, and here's my, here's
the end result.
If you can do this financiallyand it's not going to sting, you
got it, and you just can'tjustify it to yourself because
it's not going to make youfaster.
If you like it that much, dude,do it, because after I got my
soul peck I was like I shouldhave done this a long time ago.
I enjoy it probably more than Ithought I was going to Go for
(01:03:00):
it, dude.
Jason (01:03:01):
All right, that's well
said.
I don't know how to top that.
I will say the vivarian simtechalpha, right, um, the good
things about it that I know byheart because we're at the
closing stages of the show.
So excuse the very, very, very, very short, uh, review.
Don't judge me on it.
(01:03:22):
You guys know where this iscoming from.
Anyway, here we go.
So ergonomics that wheel's knownfor ergonomics.
The grips very, very unique.
It has a multifunctionalposition switches, similar to my
Artura, where you can flick aswitch.
(01:03:44):
Two buttons become the plus andminus, so you can do a lot more
functions with the wheel thanany other wheel.
That's cool.
They're hand-built, which isanother thing.
They're super high quality.
And I will piggyback off Jeff,if you like something and you
(01:04:04):
thought about it and you went tosleep and you woke up and you
thought about it again, it'stime to buy, but make sure you
buy responsibly.
And if you really want to seemore about it, our favorite
creator here, michael from theSim Racing Den, has a full
review that I'll give him kudosand leave a link of that video
(01:04:28):
in the description, and he's areviewer and creator that we
trust on the Chicane Podcast.
So that's what I would do andif you can afford it, if you can
afford it, if you watchMichael's video, it's over
Promise.
Yeah, I know.
Jeff (01:04:44):
I'll watch the belt
tensioner video.
You won't regret it.
Jason (01:04:46):
If that's what you're
thinking, you won't regret it
and it's supported by DannyNewman.
Danny Newman has LED profilesfor it, ready to go If you're a
Danny Newman user.
If you're not, give it a try.
You know it's optional, butvery, very useful.
And with that, guys, let's hearit.
(01:05:07):
Eric, what?
Erick (01:05:07):
you got.
I'm just saying, yeah, if youwant to love it more, dnr for
sure.
Jason (01:05:12):
If you want to love it
more, dnr.
But if you don't, you canalways.
You know what you call this.
You can always do it yourself, but that'll take ages.
Erick (01:05:22):
And Jeff can attest to
that.
Jeff (01:05:24):
Yeah he can talk about
that, yeah.
Jason (01:05:27):
So up to you, options are
very good these days.
Right With that, back when Iwas shopping for a wheel, there
was no DNR and I got luckyenough that he actually released
a profile months after I boughtone.
But most of us didn't have thatoption.
Back in the day we hadsomething called Yope Delight
(01:05:54):
and that didn't control all thefunctions on the wheel.
All it did was give you the revfor the wheel and it was only
for iRacing, anyway, it's notfor all the games.
But, anywho, it was fun todayagain, like every day, and I
wanted to make this episode.
I've been thinking about thisepisode and we just went the
same way as we always doUnscripted, unfiltered, uncut,
(01:06:20):
and with a little bit of boozyboo, a little bit of, uh, boozy
boozy, just because ofcelebrating you know, thing we
do, that's uh.
But anyways, uh, any any lastcalls guys any uh.
Jeff (01:06:32):
Final round tables no
other than I've been slacking
for the last couple weeks, uhdrive fast, break late oh drive
fast, break late ah okay damn Imissed that, didn't I know?
Jason (01:06:46):
he caught it and I did
look at that.
That's all right.
That's all right, eric, you gotanything yeah, no, nothing for
me.
Erick (01:06:56):
Uh, I gotta come up with
a catchphrase.
It's been a year, it's aboutthat time I come up with a
catchphrase.
Jason (01:07:02):
It's been a year, it's
about that time I come up with
something, yeah, so thank youguys so much, both of you, for
our followers and listeners.
If you guys follow us, now thatyou heard the story of how we
became a video podcast, you knowbe in audio at the same time.
If you have been following theshow on the audio format, please
(01:07:26):
do us a favor and subscribe tothe YouTube channel and leave a
like, just even if you don'tfollow us on YouTube, even if
you prefer the audio format.
I made a promise never toremove that format and it's been
a whole year since.
But if you can support us thatway, that would be a major help.
And with that guys, I just wantto say cheers for another year
(01:07:49):
and have a great start of yourweek, thank you.
