SPEAKER_05 (02:53):
Something that can
feel left.
Something that can deliver usand set us free from the bondage
of sin.
We are ready to get back to ourbook and ready to celebrate what
God has for us.
Amen.
I am so glad to be back withyou.
(03:17):
So glad to be back today.
It is wonderful to be in thehouse with you.
A lot of things have takenplace, guys.
I tell you what, it's been awonderful time in the Lord.
Man, it seems like it's been awhile, and I guess it has.
The last uh podcast we done, wedid a message that we preached
(03:43):
at a home answering the call ofGod, which I thought was just
marvelous.
And I hope you enjoyed it.
I hope you got something fromit.
Because I believe in the daythat we're living in now, that
we more than ever need to beanswering the call of God.
(04:04):
There's so many people out therethat's got a call on their life
that they're just not using it.
For some reason it could bebecause they're scared or just
don't believe that they'recapable enough to do it.
But if God called you, He'lltake care of the rest of it.
All we gotta do is just answerthe call, amen.
(04:25):
So we did that, and as I toldyou last time, we was getting
ready to do our fire conference.
Man, let me tell you what, thatwas powerful.
We had three days of of nothingbut the word and the prophetic
word from the prophet of Godthat was there the first two
nights and did a great word onSunday.
(04:47):
I'm telling you what, it wasmarvelous.
I wish you could have been therebecause God performed some great
things and and we saw somemiracles, we saw some people
getting saved and delivered.
Man, it was powerful.
I could go on on about that, butI I won't.
I'll leave that to leave italone because if I get started,
I just won't stop.
(05:07):
Something ignited in me uhduring the conference that, man,
it's changed me.
And I want to keep that fireignited inside of me.
I don't want to let it go out.
You know, we get I guess youmight say we get overwhelmed or
burnt out with things that we'redoing and in church and at home
(05:30):
and everything, and and weforget the reason that we're
really here.
And we must not forget that ourpurpose here on this earth is
not what we do on a daily basis.
It's not going to work on on ourjobs and doing this and that,
but our purpose here on thisearth is to continue what God
started with his disciples.
(05:51):
Because we all know that once hehe when he left and went back to
heaven after his his death, heleft the disciples with power.
And we have that same power thatthe disciples had, but we have
not yet decided that, hey, we'regonna do the same thing the
disciples did.
We're not gonna go out anddisciple people, we're not gonna
(06:12):
go and and see people see peoplehealed or delivered or or people
saved, but that's what we'resupposed to do.
It's not the nine to five jobthat we have, it's not raising a
family, and I'm I'm not sayingnone of that's bad, I don't get
me wrong.
I'm just saying that that's notour purpose.
Our purpose is to go and deliverthe good news of Jesus Christ,
(06:34):
and we fail to do that, amen.
So I want us my purpose here onthis podcast and always has
been, that I'm giving you wordthat you could use to be able to
do what we're called to do.
That's the whole reason that Istarted this podcast, I guess
(06:57):
now three years ago, to get theword of God out.
And that people might be saved.
That's my whole goal.
I don't have any other goal thanthat.
And I I want everybody else todo the same, whatever way you
want to do it, that's fine, because people need to hear.
Especially in a day and timewe're living in.
(07:18):
We are living in some sad times.
But I know a God that is able todeliver, set free, and do all
those things that we read in thescriptures through us.
But we've got to be willing, amen.
We've got to be willing first todo it, and I just I'm just so
(07:41):
excited.
Like I said, get me started, andI can't stop because I'm excited
about what God is doing withGod's people.
I'm excited about what he'sdoing here on the Christian
Cafe.
We have now moved into over 18countries in the world.
People are listening to thepodcast all over the world, and
I'm so excited.
And I would love to hear fromyou.
(08:03):
If you're enjoying the podcast,I would love to hear hear
something from you.
I would just drop me a line atmy email at the Christian
Cafe2022 at gmail.com.
If nothing, just say hey, youknow, that'd be great.
Just to let me know that you arelistening.
If you have a prayer request, drop that in.
Also follow us on our Facebookpage, the Christian Cafe.
(08:26):
You can find us there.
And any place that they havepodcasts, we're there.
God is blessing, God is moving, and I'm thankful for that.
But I'd love to hear from you.
I'd love to hear from those thatfollow uh this podcast.
Amen.
Well, guys, I said in thebeginning, we're going to get
back to our book.
I think we've got two morechapters to finish out, and
(08:48):
hopefully in the next two, threeepisodes left, we can finish
that out.
This next chapter is a prettylengthy chapter, so we've got to
cut it up in in two parts, andwe'll get that done.
We'll get the first half of thisepisode and then we'll do
another episode and finish itout.
But we've got some great thingscoming up next year.
(09:09):
I just drop a little hint.
Uh, we're going to be having apartner coming on board with us
next month, and it is going tobe my lovely wife.
And we're going to startsomething, hopefully, if we can
get it together.
Now we're talking about it andtrying to get it together.
We're going to start doing somevideo podcasting and audio, but
we're going to start a series ondiscipleship.
(09:32):
And I believe it is important inthis day and time that we know
how to disciple others.
Jesus discipled us 12 to do whatneeded to be done to get the
word out.
And we need to do the samething.
So I'm excited about this.
I'm excited to see what God isgoing to take this and help us
pray.
Help us pray about it, okay?
We just want to do what God hasdone and do it in him.
(09:54):
So we're going to take a breakand come back and we'll get back
into our book, okay?
SPEAKER_00 (11:00):
So many people lose
sight of him.
The religious routines, thetraditions take the place of a
real relationship.
And I wrote this book to helpthose who have experienced that
return to a vibrant relationshipwith Christ and to help others
stay consistent in their walkwith the Lord and avoid, I hope,
(11:24):
the pitfalls.
So I encourage you to get yourcopy today.
It's a small book, won't takeyou long to read it.
It's got some study questions weput in there with it.
You can do it as a group study.
I hope you will.
And my prayer is that God'sgoing to use this to speak into
your life and to grow your faithin Christ.
SPEAKER_06 (12:37):
Everything happens
to go.
Amen.
Every time I call your name,Jesus.
SPEAKER_05 (12:45):
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
I'm so thankful for that.
Amen.
Amen.
All right.
Let's get back to our book now.
And let's get into this thing.
Remember, we're still in thebook God Chasers.
We're gonna start on chapternine now.
Dismantle your glory.
(13:06):
The burial of man's glory is thebirth of God's glory.
We have lost the art of adoringthe Lord.
Our worship gets so clutteredwith endless strings of shallow
and insincere words that all wedo most of the time is take up
(13:27):
space or put in prayer time witha passionless monologue that
even God must ignore.
Some of us come to him clingingto such heavy burdens that we
are too frustrated anddistracted to see the Father or
understand how much He loves us.
(13:48):
We need to return to thesimplicity of our childhood.
Every night that I'm home, Irock my six-year-old daughter to
sleep because I love her.
Usually she will lay back in myarms and just before she drifts
off to sleep, she will rememberthe problems of the day and say
(14:10):
something like Daddy, thislittle boy was mean to me on the
playground at school.
Or Daddy, I had trouble on myspelling test today.
To her, these seem like giantproblems.
I always try to reassure herthat everything will be alright
(14:31):
in those moments because she isresting in my arms and because I
love her.
It doesn't matter what anyonesaid on the playground, and none
of her little failures have anypower to hurt her because she is
in my arms.
Somehow, when I'm able to weavemy way through the labriathan of
(14:54):
a six-year-old mind and bringpeace to her, I get to enjoy my
favorite part of the day.
That is when my little girl justlays her head back to look at me
with her eyes half opened andgive me her little smile.
The only way I know to describeit is that her face displays
(15:15):
sheer adoration and completesecurity in those moments.
She doesn't have to speak.
I understand.
And then in complete peace, shedrifts off to sleep with a smile
of safety and trust on her face.
God wants us to do the samething.
(15:36):
Too often we come to Him at theend of our day and worship Him
with prefac pre-manufacturedmechanics and memorize words.
Then, since we are almosttotally absorbed with our
playground offenses and thetemporal problem of the day, we
(15:56):
lay back in His presence justlong enough to say our string of
words and deliver our wish list.
Then we jump up and run off tocontinue our frustrated rat race
lives.
Often we never seem to find thatplace of perfect peace.
I want to stop right there forjust a moment.
(16:19):
How many of us can relate tothat?
I know I can.
Man, that slaps me in the faceevery single day.
And I try not to do it.
But we have been doing the verysame thing for so many years
that it's kind of hard to breakthe cycle.
But if we could just realizethat in his arms there's peace,
(16:40):
and what he gives us is worthmore than just saying our
routine words like the authorhere was talking about, and just
our memorized words, I think, the way he put it.
God wants to ignore that becausehe knows before we speak what
we're gonna say.
(17:01):
We need to surprise the Lord oneday and just praise him for what
he's done.
Not to just memorize words, butjust to sit back and just relate
and relax in him.
You will have to face him.
What he wants us to do is justlook at him.
(17:24):
Yes, we can tell him what wefeel.
We need to tell him, but he isreally waiting to s to receive
our most intimate worship andadoration.
The kind that transcends merewords or outward actions.
He has set before you an opendoor, but you will have to face
(17:47):
him.
You cannot back your way intothe door of eternity.
You have to walk into it.
You will have to stop looking atand listening to other things.
He is beckoning you, beckoningto you to come up hither and
he'll show you the hereafterthat should bring peace to a
(18:12):
weary child.
It is dangerous for us to be ledby our number crunching
intellect because we canoveranalyze the causes and the
purposes of God.
We'll end up like the Pharisees,Sadducees, and Scribes of Jesus
who missed their hour ofvisitation.
(18:35):
I, for one, don't want to dothat.
Jesus wept over Jerusalem, thesymbol of the home of God's
presence in this day, saying ina sense, You didn't know the
hour.
I came to you, and you didn'tknow.
You knew the word, but youdidn't know me.
(18:57):
Look in Luke 19, 41 through 44.
He came into his own, and hisown received him not.
John 1 11.
I'm not writing this because youand the many others who will
read these words don't knowGod's word.
On the contrary, I'm saying thisbecause the Lord wants to
(19:18):
develop a new level of intimacywith his people.
He doesn't want us to memorizeBible trivia, he wants us to
know him.
Paul said that before he wasconverted to Christ, he
understood the law.
But after he was converted, hesaid, I know whom I have
(19:39):
believed.
Second Timothy 1 and 12.
It's one thing to know abouthim.
It's quite another to know him.
God is calling you to a newlevel of intimacy.
If you dare to answer his call, the Lord will re will reveal a
fresh part of his character.
(20:01):
He will pull you so close thatyou will be breathing the very
rare rare air of heaven.
The only way to the place Davidcalled the secret place is
through the door of focusedworship.
When you lay aside everydistraction and focus your body,
(20:24):
soul, and spirit upon God.
When his presence become sostrong that you are oblivious to
everyone and everything elsearound you, then healing can
come in an encounter with Godfrom which you will never
recover.
(20:44):
Your heart will be aspermanently disabled with love
as Jacob's leg was left with alimp.
My favorite services and yoursare not the same.
I was launched on this journeywhen God spoke to me while in
the midst of his presence.
He said, Son, the services thatyou consider your favorite
(21:08):
services and those I favor arenot the same service.
That is when I realized that weoften come to church to get
something from God.
When the Bible tells us over andover again to minister unto the
Lord.
Yes, we're involved in ministry, all right.
(21:30):
Our lives are so filled withministry to people and the needs
of people that we very seldomenter into a place where we can
find we can minister to Him.
We go away week after week,self-gratified, with our itches
(21:50):
scratched and our narrowpersonal needs met.
When will we hear God's stillsmall voice saying, Would
somebody just love me?
As I said before, the last timeI read it, Psalms 103 and 1, I
(22:12):
still said, Bless the Lord, ohmy soul.
But we often practice, Oh myLord, bless my soul.
God's definition of a hero andours are probably not the same.
Consider what he has said aboutthe sinful woman who broke the
(22:34):
alabaster box to anoint the Lordwith oil.
If heaven has a Hall of Fame, then I can tell you someone
whose name is going to be rightat the top of the list.
It is Mary, the woman with thealabaster box.
What is so startling about it isthat the disciples were so
(22:57):
embarrassed by the woman'sactions that they wanted to
throw her out.
But Jesus made her actions aninternal monument of selfless
worship.
Jesus didn't intervene becauseof Mary's talent, her beauty, or
religious achievements.
He stepped in because of herworship.
(23:21):
The disciples said, To whatpurpose is this waste?
Matthew 26 and 8.
Jesus said, It's not waste, it'sworship.
Often dense disciples mislabeledthings during their political
posturing about who sits at theright and who at the left while
(23:43):
Jesus goes worship hungry.
His growling hunger pangsattract an outsider, a box
breaker, a footwasher.
Such worshipers must oftenignore the stares and comments
of a political correct churchwhile ministering to Jesus.
(24:06):
He desires our adorate ouradoration and worship.
Heaven's Hall of Fame is filledwith the names of obscured
people like the one leper whoentered to thank God while nine
never bothered.
It will be filled with the namesof people who so touch the heart
(24:27):
and mind of God that he says, Iremember you.
I know about you.
Well done, my good and faithfulservant.
Meanwhile, in our churchservices, we act like ungrateful
children demanding our biblicalallowances and blessings.
(24:48):
We ridges religiously seek thehand of God, but we know nothing
about seeking the face of Godand crying out, I just want you.
Man, these words are powerful.
I hope and pray that they areslapping you in the face like
(25:09):
they are me.
Because I'm telling you, we wedo not know how to worship God.
I mean, you take Mary, she brokean alabaster box just to wash
his feet.
You and I, would we do that?
Something so expensive and rare.
Would we give up something likethat just to worship God?
(25:33):
I would like to say I would.
You know, it's just hard to say.
God is saying to us, I have setbefore thee an open door.
This is one of the those seasonswhen God seems to be throwing
open the door of heaven andsaying, Come into a new place of
(25:57):
intimacy and communion with me.
You don't need to worry aboutthe blessings.
If you sit in the lap of theblesser, just tell him that you
love him and every blessing youever imagined will come to you.
Seek the blesser, not theblessing.
(26:17):
Seek the reviver, not revival.
Seek his face, not his hands.
Often I see the aisles ofchurches strewn with people who
have climbed into the lap of theFather.
I see them hiding their facesunderneath benches and pews as
they seek the face of God.
(26:39):
Something is happening in thechurch today, and it has nothing
to do with the hype andmanipulation of man.
Aren't you sick of all that?
Aren't you hungry for anencounter with God that's not
contaminated by the vainpromotions and manipulations of
(27:02):
fleshly leaders?
Don't you long to have God'sjust long to have God just
introduce Himself to you?
You're not alone.
There was one woman who markedthe road of repentance with her
tears and dismantled her gloryfor the Lord.
And one of the Pharisees desiredhim that he would eat with him,
(27:26):
and he went into the Pharisees'house and sat down to meet.
And behold a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she
knew that Jesus sat at meat inthe Pharisees' house, brought an
alabaster box of ointment, andstood at his feet and behind him
weeping, and began to wash hisfeet with tears, and did wipe
(27:50):
them with the hairs of her head, and kiss his feet, and anointed
them with the ointment.
Now when the Pharisees which hadbidden him saw it, he spake
within himself, saying, Thisman, if he was a prophet, would
have known who and what mannerof woman this is that touched
(28:11):
him for she is a sinner.
And Jesus answering said untohim, Simon, I have somewhat to
say unto thee.
And he saith, Master, say onthere was a certain creditor
which had two debtors the oneowed five hundred pence and the
other fifty.
(28:32):
And when they had nothing topay, he frankly forgave them
both.
Tell them therefore which ofthem will love him most.
Simon answered and said, Isuppose that he to whom he
forgave most.
And he said unto him, Thou hastrightly judged.
And he turned to the woman andsaid to Simon, Seeest thou this
(28:56):
woman I entered into thinehouse, thou gavest me no water
for my feet, but she hath washedmy feet with her tears, and
wiped them with her hairs of herhead.
Thou gavest me no kiss, but thiswoman since the time I came in
hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
My head with oil thou didst notanoint, but this woman hath
(29:18):
anointed my feet with ointment.
Wherefore I say unto thee, hersins, which are many, are
forgiven, for she loved much, but to whom little is given the
same loveth little.
And he said unto her, Thy sinsare forgiven.
And they that sat at meat withhim began to say within
(29:40):
themselves, Who is this thatforgiveth sins also?
And he said to the woman, Thyfaith hath saved thee.
Go in peace.
That's in Luke seven, thirty-sixthrough fifty.
I just want to make a quickcomment here.
You know, we talk about we wantsin.
To come to our church.
(30:02):
We want to see the law saved.
Let me just say that.
We want to see people saved, butyet when we see them, either
where they come into the houseof God in our churches or we see
them on the street, we're soquickly to judge them.
How dare us! We're hypocrites.
Yeah, I'm gonna say that again.
(30:22):
We're hypocrites.
We speak one thing, but ourminds and our thoughts are
totally different than whatwe're s we're speaking.
We say we want to see the lawsaved, but then we judge them
because of the way they looked, way they act, what sin they're
committing.
Remember, one day we weresinners, but then Christ died
(30:43):
for us and forgave us of oursin.
So no matter what that persondone, God has forgiven them.
We're so caught up on sin.
And we judge people becausethey're even either in a
different lifestyle, ahomosexual lifestyle, or they're
drunks or addicts or whatever, and we're so quickly to judge
them and and just cast themaside.
(31:04):
Instead, we are to love them, not judge them.
That's all I gotta say aboutthat.
I'm gonna go on.
You may be only a few spiritualinches inches away from the
encounter of a lifetime.
If you want to see the face ofGod, then just follow Mary to
the feet of Jesus.
(31:25):
Pull out your alabaster box, aprecious sacrificial praise and
worship.
You've been holding yourtreasure back far too long, but
there is one here who is worthyof it all.
Don't hold anything back.
The gospels of Matthew and Markalso recorded this event, and
(31:47):
they sight say that Simon waswas or had been a leper.
Many scholars believe that theaccount recorded by Dr.
Luke is the story of an earlierevent.
But even so, Simon the Phariseewas still a spiritual leper
because he was afflicted withthe disfiguring sin of
(32:10):
hypocrisy.
You can always count on somePharisees with the leprosy of
hypocrisy hypocrisy showing upto look with disdain as you rush
in to throw your best at theLord's feet.
But who cares?
Who knows what problems will belifted from your shoulders in
(32:35):
the moment?
Who knows what worries, fears, and anxieties will fade away
when you hear him say, I acceptyou.
In God's eyes, we are all lepersin the spirit realm.
We need to be those who returnto the one who delivered us to
(32:59):
offer thanksgiving.
God acceptance means you canignore all the other voices that
say, I reject you.
I don't mean to be rude, but whocares how many other lepers
reject you when you have beenhealed and accepted by the king?
In the gospels of Mark Matthewand Mark, Mary's harshness
(33:22):
critics weren't the Pharisees orSadducees.
The disciples of Jesus wereready to throw her out when
Jesus quickly intervened.
And Jesus let her alone.
Why trouble ye her?
He hath wrought a good work onme.
She hath done what she could.
(33:43):
She has come aforehand to anointmy body to the to the bearing.
Verily I say unto you, whosowheresoever this gospel shall be
preached throughout the wholeworld, this also that she hath
done shall be spoken of for amemorial of her.
That's found in Mark fourteen, verses six, eight, and nine.
(34:06):
We're going to take a quickbreak and come back in just a
minute.
SPEAKER_06 (35:50):
Tell you what.
SPEAKER_05 (35:51):
I hope it's open
your eyes a little more to what
God wants from us.
Remember the title of the book,God Chasers.
The very things you've beenhearing in this book is what God
wants us to do.
He wants us to be selfless, justlike Mary.
Let's continue.
Are you always on God's mind?
(36:15):
Jesus said that this woman whohad broken her alabaster box to
anoint him for his burial wouldnever be forgotten wherever the
gospel is preached.
In other words, she would alwaysbe on God's mind.
Do you want a visitation fromGod?
(36:36):
You will have to make room forhim in your life, no matter how
crowded and cluttered it may beat this moment.
Sometimes it means your mosttreasured things may have to be
broken to release the fragranceGod remembers.
Your brokenness is a sweetsmelling savor to God.
(36:59):
He collects every tear thatdrips from your chin and flows
from the corners of your eyes.
The Bible says that He has abottle of memories to hold every
tear you've shed.
He loves you.
So steal away to your secretprayer place and pull out that
(37:20):
alabaster box of preciousanointing you've been saving for
such a time as this.
Break it at his feet and say,Jesus, I love you more than
anything.
I'll give up anything.
I'll go anywhere.
I just want you, Lord.
(37:40):
Can we say that this evening?
Can we say, Jesus, I love youmore than anything?
Jesus, I'll give up anything.
I'll go anywhere you want me togo.
I just want you, Lord.
I just want you, Lord.
Can we say that?
Oh my, my, my, my.
God is longing to hear thosewords.
(38:02):
Make no mistake, it tookhumility for Mary to wipe the
Lord's feet with her hair.
The Bible says a woman's hair isher glory.
So Mary used her glory to wipethe feet of Jesus.
Middle Eastern women in Jesus'day generally wore their hair
up, and it was often wrapped ina turban or veil when they left
(38:26):
their homes for public places.
So Mary probably had to unwrapor dismantle her hair to wipe
the Lord's feet.
I don't want to offend anyone, but it is important for us to
understand what that reallymeant to Mary's reputation.
Open sandals were the mostcommon footwear, and it was
(38:50):
customary for guests to leavetheir sandals at the door when
they entered a house.
Since most travelers in Israelshared the main roads with
camels, horses, and donkeys, itwas impossible to completely
avoid the droppings of theseanimals all day long.
(39:11):
Sandals provided some protectionto travelers, and it was
unthinkable to wear them into aperson's house.
Nevertheless, it was certainthat the residue of the day's
journey, including the odor ofthe animal droppings, was still
deposited on a guest'sunprotected feet.
(39:31):
For this reason, the dirty jobof washing the animal droppings
off of everyone's feet wasreserved for the most
insignificant servant of thehousehold.
Any servant who washed a guest'sfeet was automatically
considered the one who doesn'tcount, the unimported expendable
(39:52):
slave, and was openly treatedwith disdain.
What a picture of humble worshipMary provides.
She dismantled her glory, herhair to wipe animal waste from
his feet.
Our righteousness and glory arenothing but filthy rags fit only
(40:13):
to wipe his feet.
This was especially true in aPharisee's house, where outward
cleanliness meant everything.
(40:34):
Jesus clearly says that when heentered Simon's house, no one
washed his feet.
It is important like Simonwanted Jesus there.
It is almost like Simon wantedJesus there, but he didn't want
to honor him.
(40:55):
How often do we want God'spresence in our services, but
refuse or ignore to worship himas we should?
Are our services tailored forGod or man?
For too long the church hasasked God to be present, but
(41:16):
never place the presence of Godin a position of honor.
That means that what we reallywanted were his tricks.
We wanted his divine healings, supernatural giftings, and all
the miraculous things he can do,but we real we really didn't
(41:37):
want to honor him.
How can I say such a thing?
Ask yourself, if most of ourchurch services have been custom
tailored to sir entertain peopleor God, is it more important to
us that we that when aninfluential man or woman leaves,
(42:00):
he or she says, Oh, that wasgood, I enjoyed that, or that
God says, Oh, that was good, Ienjoyed that.
Wow.
Ask yourself that, what was moreimportant?
When God entered our services inthe past, how often did we
suspend everything we were doingto honor him?
(42:22):
Or did we consider his arrivalas an interpretation in a gent
in our agenda that was nice, butonly in proper measure?
I wonder if when Mary broke openthe alabaster box containing the
precious oil of Spikner, shenoticed that when her tears fell
(42:45):
on our Lord's dusty, unwashedfeet that they made a streak of
cleanliness.
Did it suddenly dawn upon herwhat measure of disrespect had
been shown toward Jesus?
Although he was invited guest inthat house, I believe she said,
I believe she did, and it brokeher heart.
(43:07):
Her grief seemed to only turn upthe velocity of her tears until
they came like a floodgate hadbeen opened.
There were so many tearsdripping on Jesus' feet that
Mary was literally able to usethem to wash away the animal
dung on his feet.
But what could Mary use to wipethe remaining residue of animal
(43:32):
dung from the Lord's feet?
She had no honor or authority inthat place, so she couldn't ask
for a towel.
Having nothing else at hand, with no towels provided by
servant or master, Marydismantled her hair and used her
glory to wipe Jesus' feet.
(43:52):
Wow.
That's powerful.
Jesus took the disdained andpublic disrespect of that
household away from him and tookit upon herself.
She removed every evidence ofhis public rejection with her
beautiful hair and took it asher own.
(44:15):
Can you imagine what that didfor the heart of God?
Jesus gave us insight into hisfeelings in that moment when he
openly rebuked his host.
He turned to the woman and saidunto Simon, Seeest thou this
woman?
I entered into thine house, thougavest me no water for my feet,
(44:39):
but she hath washed my feet withtears, and wiped down them with
the hairs of her head.
Thou gavest me no kiss, but thiswoman, since the time I came in,
hath ceased to kiss my feet.
My hand with oil, my head withoil thou didst not anoint, but
(44:59):
this woman hath anointed my feetwith ointment.
Wherefore I say unto thee, hersins, which are many, are
forgiven, for she loved much, but to whom little is forgiven,
and the same loveth little.
(45:20):
Man, can you imagine Mary?
As the author spoke, said, Canyou imagine the disdain that she
went through, the humility ofwashing his feet that had been
walking and animal dumb throughthe travels that he went
through?
And Jesus traveled a lot.
(45:40):
Can you imagine?
And Simon showed no respect forJesus at all.
It's like he was just someoneelse, another character that
walked in his house.
He didn't realize that Jesus, the Son of Man, was going to
(46:01):
give his life for him.
Man, that's something else.
