In Episode #1,042 of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards recaps his birthday weekend with unfiltered enthusiasm. Reflecting on a much-improved year—unlike last year's mental struggles—he thanks fans for over 700 social media wishes, texts, and calls.   Friday night kicked off with a lively dinner hangout with friends. Clay indulged in appetizers like fried crab claws, stuffed mushrooms, and fresh-baked bread slathered in sweet honey butter—so filling he barely touched his massive tomahawk ribeye. Having devoured a ribeye steak sandwich there for lunch earlier (followed by a two-hour nap), he boxed up the steak for steak-and-eggs brunches Saturday and Sunday, ensuring he got his money's worth.   Saturday brought a road trip to Philadelphia, MS, for an evening of dining and boxing at Bout Time Brawling—a professional event packed with passion and entry-level pros. First stop: The Porter House in downtown Philadelphia, a spot Clay highly recommends for its phenomenal food and vibe. It's his second visit, perfect for a scenic drive, podcast listening, and quality time with a significant other or friends—a healthy change of scenery.   Arriving late (around 8:30 PM after fights started at 7:00), they caught the main card but missed buddies Tyler Noseworthy (went to decision, goal: avoid knockout) and Bubba (victorious). Highlights included world-famous Mississippi rapper and influencer Topher's first sanctioned pro fight win against a wild opponent; local girls Hailey Schell's David-vs.-Goliath TKO over towering "Pookie" (Hailey, compact and powerful, dropped her like a tree—video on Clay's socials, even shared with Pearl Mayor Jake Windham); and Katy Stegeman's solid victory. The main event saw friend Luke Greenlee (quiet, unassuming beast) go toe-to-toe in a grueling battle, winning on judges' cards to go 3-0. Clay shares raw footage soon, emphasizing the raw power and lesson: "Be careful who you mouth off to—dynamite comes in small packages."   The night was a family affair too—10 people total, including Clay's 76-year-old dad, who rode along and credited testosterone therapy for his renewed energy and quick wit, making the late-night drive home (ending around 11 PM) enjoyable with non-stop conversation. A fountain-of-youth boost visible in Dad's sharper memory and stamina.
