The so-called climate crisis is no match for the enduring strength of coral reefs. While mainstream media shouts about their demise, the real story is one of resilience and recovery. Join us as we cut through the noise and expose the truth behind the "climate change is killing coral" narrative. Coral reefs have not only withstood various climatic shifts over millions of years but are now thriving in ways that contradict alarmist claims. From the Great Barrier Reef's robust health to surprising rebounds off Western Australia's coast, we unpack how these ecosystems are adapting and flourishing.

Learn how corals manage their symbiotic relationships with algae, often misinterpreted as alarming bleaching events. This episode promises to reshape your understanding of coral ecosystems and the broader climate change debate.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
The Climate Change Hoax.
If you're suspicious that thisclimate change stuff may be
exaggerated or just total BS,you've come to the right place.
Welcome to the Climate ChangeHoax Podcast With your host,
carl Michael.
Here you'll learn the truthabout the deceivers who want you

(00:24):
to believe we can actuallycontrol the weather.
We cannot.
The real goal is to control you.
This is the Climate Change Hoax.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
And greetings crisis deniers.
Well, buckle up for some moreclimate lies from the left in
this special three-part seriesLakes, reefs and Floods.
Is climate change killing thecoral reefs?
Well, here's an article fromthe National Oceanic and

(01:05):
Atmospheric Administration.
Climate change is the greatestglobal threat to coral reef
ecosystems.
Scientific evidence now clearlyindicates that the Earth's
atmosphere and oceans arewarming and that these changes
are primarily due to greenhousegases derived from human

(01:26):
activities.
As temperatures rise, masscoral bleaching events are
becoming more frequent.
Additionally, carbon dioxideabsorbed into the ocean from the
atmosphere has already begun toreduce calcification rates in
reef building andreef-associated organisms by
altering seawater chemistrythrough decreases in pH.

(01:50):
This process is called oceanacidification.
Climate change will affectcoral reef ecosystems through
sea level rise, changes to thefrequency and intensity of
tropical storms and alteredocean circulation patterns.
When combined, all theseimpacts dramatically harm coral

(02:12):
reef ecosystems.
Okay, kind of sounds likeclimate crisis fear porn to me,
because it is.
The actual science reveals thecoral reefs are doing just fine.
Folks forget these alarmists.

(02:34):
Here's the real science behindcoral reefs.
Coral has existed continuouslyfor the past 40 million years,
surviving temperatures andcarbon dioxide levels
significantly higher and lowerthan what is occurring today
Since the peak of the lastglacial maximum, 33,000 to

(02:57):
26,000 years ago.
Global average temperaturereached its highest point
approximately 7,000 years ago,at least 1 or 2 degrees C higher
than today, during which coralreefs thrived.
As Earth continues its modestwarming since the peak of the
Little Ice Age 400 years ago, coral reefs have extended their

(03:20):
range toward the poles, whilestill surviving at and near the
equator.
Short-term heat waves or coldsnaps can cause bleaching events
, but historically, such eventshave occurred long before the
recent warming since the peak ofthe Little Ice Age.
Moreover, studies show coralcan and have been adapting to

(03:40):
the gradual long-term pace ofglobal warming that has occurred
since the peak of the LittleIce Age.
History shows that cold snapscan harm coral much worse than
warm spells.
In 2010, colder oceantemperatures off the coast of
Florida killed more coral thanany warm water event and despite

(04:02):
these events, coral reefsrecover over the course of
several years or sometimes evenquicker.
During Western Australia's firstsigns of a mass coral bleaching
event, a follow-up survey founda remarkable recovery and
likely to preserve the reefsnear pristine health.
Dr Tom Holmes, a marinemonitoring coordinator at the

(04:26):
Western Australia Department ofBiodiversity, conservation and
Attractions, said that while histeam was still processing this
data, it appeared the coral hadpulled off an amazing return
towards health.
Dr Holmes remarked we wereexpecting to see widespread
mortality and we just didn't seeit, which is a really amazing

(04:49):
thing.
Unquote.
A poster child for coralalarmism is the Great Barrier
Reef, which is 20 million yearsold and it has survived
significantly warmer and coldertemperatures than today,
although the AustralianInstitute of Marine Science
documented that approximately22% of the reef experienced

(05:12):
recent bleaching not 93% asreported by the crisis WACOs and
75% of the bleached portion ofthe reef is expected to make a
full recovery Now.
Poor water quality resultingfrom nearby coastal development
is the main culprit for thebleached reef's areas that do

(05:33):
not recover.
Evidence shows much of thebleached coral in the Great
Barrier Reef has alreadyrecovered and the rest is
continuing to recover.
Scientists are learning more andmore about the resilience of
coral all the time.
Reef-building corals depend onenergy from photosynthesizing

(05:55):
symbiotic algae, but theirsymbiotic relationship requires
careful maintenance.
So coral naturally add andsubtract symbiotic algae as the
seasons change.
During winter, coral increasestheir symbiotic algae as
lowering light reducesphotosynthesis increases their
symbiotic algae as loweringlight reduces photosynthesis.
Each summer, as light intensityincreases, they expel symbionts

(06:19):
.
Bleaching is just an extreme ofthat behavior.
After bleaching, coral canquickly replace their symbiotic
algae within days or months, with no resulting mortality.
Scientists are increasinglyobserving that coral can acquire
very different symbiotic algaewith different genetics.
To adapt to changing climates, coral don't require thousands of

(06:43):
years to evolve.
Coral gets instantaneousgenetic upgrades simply by
acquiring new symbiotic algae.
Acquiring different symbioticalgae allowed coral to adapt to
dramatic temperature changes asice ages came and went, and
acquiring new symbiotic algaenow allows coral to readily

(07:04):
adapt to 60-year changes causedby ocean oscillations.
Decreasing ocean pH due toincreasing carbon dioxide.
Climate alarmists like to callthis acidification, but no
mainstream oceanographerbelieves that the oceans will

(07:25):
become acidic in the nextseveral thousand years, though
some believe that ocean pH maybe lowering, but only
fractionally.
Some believe that ocean pH maybe lowering, but only
fractionally.
However, it would requireseveral hundred years of
detailed ocean acidificationdata to accurately determine the
natural trends and fluctuationsof ocean acidification.

(07:47):
That would allow an accuratecomparison since the so-called
increase in anthropogenic carbondioxide since 1850.
Furthermore, there is noevidence of decreased
populations of shrimp, clams, snails and other mollusks and
crustaceans.
That's just more fear porn fromthe climate alarmists.

(08:09):
In fact, the global harvestingand ocean culturing of these sea
animals have not experiencedany reductions in volume in the
past 50 years, let alone sincethe 1850s.
So, as I said, the coral reefsare doing just fine, just fine.

(08:32):
Now about this National Oceanicand Atmospheric Administration
created by President RichardNixon in 1970 as part of the US
Department of Commerce, it wascreated through executive order

(08:52):
and was never established in law.
This administrative officeaccounts for six other major
line offices, all with verylarge budgets and staff.
The Biden regime won $6.8billion for these guys in 2024
to supposedly build aclimate-ready nation.
To supposedly build aclimate-ready nation.

(09:13):
The office has been hijacked byleftists who have turned it
into a rubber stamp for climatepropaganda.
The National Oceanic andAtmospheric Administration
should return to its originalmission or be defunded and the
socialists and phony scientistsrunning the joint fired.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
