(00:01):
Hey guys it's Andy and I truly care about you guys unlike my Co
host Ben. So I needed to share the truth
about something. Ben was very very cruel to me.
Have a listen and think what youshall.
(00:23):
I love you guys. So, Ben, I need to talk to you
about telling Austin to hold down the Fort on Monday.
Don't give me the face. Don't fucking give me the face.
I'm not. I'm not into the face.
You told Austin to hold down theFort.
And I was right there. I was.
I saw you say it to him. Oh.
(00:44):
Boy no. No.
Yeah, bullshit. I didn't.
Know you quit talking and he actually completely turned his
device off. That's the kind of person he is.
I really am scared of him on another no, I do want to just
(01:13):
let everyone know everything is just a joke.
Alright, enjoy obsession collection.
It's Dive D Dusty Sheldon Hiddenkeys.
(01:35):
Yes, OK. Yeah, yeah.
We have a guest tonight. Who is it you want to expect you
to tell me? Too bad I didn't think you were
going to tell me. I'll.
See you tomorrow, man. So hey.
It's been fun talking, Ben. We'll see you bye.
(01:58):
All right. Anyways, Ben, tonight we got
Jamie or Bluebonnet. I'm.
Excited about it? How do you feel about that?
You're always excited about it. How are you, Jamie?
I'm. Doing great.
Thank you so much for having me.This is really exciting.
(02:18):
Yeah, as Ben just said, he's excited, but he doesn't look
excited to me. I mean, he's just sitting there
like a lump. I don't know.
I I I don't even believe what hesays anymore.
I really don't. I I think he's lying to me
constantly. I mean, he insulted me.
He had someone else take over his show because I thought you
loved. I wasn't good enough so.
(02:40):
He told me he didn't know he. Keeps pressured, Jamie.
Back the moderator. So I thought I will.
All right, never mind me, a moderator.
All right, Sorry. We'll talk.
We'll. Yeah.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Jamie.
Shut up. We're trying to talk to our
guests. That's.
That's Andy's fault. You don't even care about me, so
just shut up, Ben. I did not want to go there, no.
(03:02):
No. We're going to clean that up or
are we going to keep going? He will not.
He will not. I already tried to apologize.
Yeah. He's very, very, very, very,
very, very, very, very. I tried to.
We. We.
Oh, very, very, very. Well.
Very. Jamie, we have a question for
(03:24):
you. Very, very.
Oh my gosh. All right, still on to our guest
because, you know, that's just dead to me so.
Oh no. I apologize.
That was very mean. So, Jamie, I said it already.
(03:48):
Bluebonnet under score Vintage. Where'd it come from?
What? What's it mean to you?
Are you a fan of margarine? Is that what it is?
Not actually the state flower inTexas.
Wow, I sound like an asshole. Yeah, no, I just like the blue
(04:12):
bonnet. If you know anything about Texas
and Texan people, we're super proud.
We are super proud people. So I just really wanted to
represent my state and where I'mfrom.
And they're actually really beautiful flowers.
You have to throw the seeds out in November so that they can
have a hard freeze so that they can grow and bloom in March and
(04:34):
April. So.
Kind of like asparagus. Well, not quite that long.
Oh. I think it's.
Three years. First there, yeah.
Yes, it is. Oh, OK.
I was trying to come up with that garlic, that one.
Yeah, there we go, You know, 'cause you, you plant garlic the
year before or whatever. I don't, I don't know.
(04:55):
I'm not even. I'm not a.
Gardener. Yeah, I now I feel bad.
I just ruined your We didn't think.
I'm sorry ourselves. I feel, I feel bad about that.
Yeah, I I do too. I once we went to that, there
was margarine. There's no change in our minds.
That's what it was. So this is much better.
(05:17):
And that is? A great.
Well, I guess my next question, that's a great, that's a great
or that. Has such a good reason for it
now. Now Andy and I just feel silly
about it. So all right, well, I'm happy we
went there with that question. Now we know.
So Yep, that's what I was. Is that a coin?
(05:39):
Not to you. Oh yes.
I kind of I. Was.
Kind of picking up on that. Thank you so much.
Yeah, the All right. So yeah, mine's way better than
you, Ben. Don't worry.
Yeah, I want to. I want to have someone else.
(06:01):
Mod for me what I was saying we we would like to know more about
you, Jamie. So tell us a little bit about
you and just give us a little bit of information.
OK, yeah, so I've been a collector of things like my
(06:23):
whole life. I've collected everything from
rocks to stickers to Barbies. And I just, I'm always
collecting something. I just got to the point where I
was collecting so much stuff that I need to get rid of some
stuff so that I can collect other things.
And I love my friends for things.
(06:44):
I'm always sourcing stuff. I'm always looking at things.
And that's awesome. Yeah.
So that's just kind of what I do.
I feel like that's a regular thing for all of us, that we.
Get too. Much.
And then we have to let go of some.
But at some point in time, I guess we have to.
(07:06):
I don't know who you're talking right now.
I don't hear anything but dead air.
I told you this will not end. I already tried to apologize.
I tried and he's just going to keep going back to it, all
right? What you you tried to what?
Sorry, I said. I said sorry.
Meet me in the alley. Is that what you tried to do?
Anyways, well, Andy, I know you got some more questions, so
(07:27):
let's get back to the questions and quit making fun of what me
not, you know, having you be themoderator and I'm sorry.
So you know what I don't know ifyou know this, Ben, you probably
don't because you don't pay attention to anything and you
don't even care who's around. But you know, Jamie is actually
(07:52):
married to one of our. Other guests, I mean, I did.
Yeah, Julian, you remember. You remember that You just don't
care about the podcast. So you you remember that
Julian's favorite thing is records.
But Jamie, do you have a favorite to collect?
(08:14):
Like, do you have one thing that's your overall favorite?
It's spread out. There's not one specific thing.
Julian and I were both collecting records at one point
and it kind of got out of here. So I stopped or cut back and I
let him have reins on that. So that's pretty much his thing
(08:36):
now. So now I have to spread my
collecting to other areas. I do collect check glass
buttons. They're buttons.
They're not buttons. They're.
Check Kazek No. They're my favorite thing right
now. They're really beautiful.
There is. One, yeah.
(08:59):
That's amazing. Some have uranium in them, so
they shut. Up, Ben.
Some are iridescent, some are built glass, but they don't miss
it anymore. So I really put these down
families used to make them. They would put them in like a,
like a rod, like a stick, and then they would press them
together to make the patterns onthem and then they would.
(09:20):
They don't make them at all. Wow, OK, I didn't know that.
Really. They.
Kind of died out. Yeah, that's awesome.
Yeah, that's interesting. So is there a particular style
or glass that they are made of? Like is there 1?
(09:44):
High quality glass that they make, they still make beads and
stuff like that. They do like lamp work flowers
and stuff. So it just kind of depends.
Like that stuff is still made, but the, the buttons are just
not made anymore. Like I, I don't understand why?
Because they're beautiful. That's weird.
(10:04):
That's something that we've never talked to on is like, so
when they talk about bead working in glass, it's called
lamp. Working, we've never.
Talked about that and that's a very interesting thing that like
I think lamp. I'm a lampaholic myself, so like
but I collect lamps like I like light.
(10:26):
I'm am the light. Shut up and you're not the
light. OK, I don't know what his deal
is. Jamie.
I'm so sorry he's so rude. Honestly.
Apparently. How long can this joke?
Go on honestly way too long. Yes, it's I'm souring my own
mind with it. So within that then Jamie, is
(10:52):
there any knowledge that you could pass on to the two of us
that obviously we don't know anything about anything.
So with your favorite to collect, is there any knowledge
you could pass with that to anyone looking to get into it or
that just someone that has no clue anything about check glass?
(11:17):
Don't buy any is it all for me? I like that.
Yeah, that's. Smart.
That's fair enough. To go around it right there.
There are different styles, so there's like art Deco, there are
lamp work buttons, there's, you know, the pressed glass.
It really kind of just depends on the like what style you want.
(11:39):
I love them all. A lot of people just collect the
glowing ones. I like the glowing ones.
That's kind of what I started out as.
And then I just fell in love with, you know, the different
kinds. So my thing is I don't really
have like super knowledge about it, but just get out there,
look, see what you can find there.
There's. So many what are some factors to
(12:00):
look for in that? Like what?
What would tell you that it's a Czech glass piece?
It's. Going to.
Be glass. That's but that's the main thing
right there. Oh wow, is it that is glass OK?
Some are hand painted so you'll see like you can look at like a
(12:23):
set of 12 and some will be slightly different.
Some will have like gilded gold painting on there and when it
glows you can see the glow like through the button on the gold
like a little different. Definitely your flashlight with
you. Yeah.
So I've never seen any except for in your shows, Yeah, which
(12:45):
is, yeah, like you're the only person I've ever seen that had
any. And maybe I'm just not paying
attention and that happens. But yeah, I've never seen anyone
that had them and. You think that's?
The thing you most people don't really have?
If I had, if I bought a lot of glass and that was in there, I
would not have known what it was.
(13:06):
I would not have known. But that's.
Yeah, exactly. They are new and far between.
I order my from the checks and have them delivered so it's.
Zech Republic. Yeah, it takes a while to get
here so. But when it does, oh man, it's
(13:26):
just like opening a little box that.
You don't this Andy's mad at me.Don't let me take it out, Andy.
Don't take it out on the guest, Andy.
OK. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
This has nothing to do with you,Ben.
I'm talking to my friend Jamie over here.
If you want me to hide the clown, well, put the clowns away
so you can see them. Don't do that.
(13:48):
Don't, no, don't do that. Jamie.
I made AI made a picture today of me as a sad clown.
It's it's not as wonderful as I'd like it to be, but it's
wonderful. I'll have to show you anyways.
Ben, you were saying something about trees or something or
(14:10):
another. I.
Was actually talking about trees.
Jamie, do you have have you everhad any experiences?
Yeah. So anyways, Jamie, I was just
saying. I was just that made you almost
want to give up and just forget about what Andy's saying right
now. You want me to say it again?
(14:32):
I know he was interrupting the whole time.
So. I don't.
I hear this like really weird buzzing.
I don't know, Jamie, what were you saying now?
Well, let me. Finally go into the question.
Yeah, let me. Go ahead, Benjamin, ask your
(14:52):
question again. Andy, have you ever had any
experience in collecting or selling slash buying that made
you almost want to give up? OK.
Well, that's good. No.
That's no. I.
That that's that's a pretty quick no.
(15:16):
I just want to like supply treasures to everybody and then
if that helps me get my treasures to, you know.
That's yes. That's the perfect answer right
there. I just, I want to know what
everybody. Like that's how I feel about
stuff too. It's like if I have a, a piece
of glass that someone else is looking at and they're like,
(15:39):
that's what I'm after. It's like, well, here you take
that now I can try to find what I'm after.
You know, that's that's awesome.That's a great that is a great
answer. So at least.
Thank you. I bet you could never guess what
I like. Oh, see.
(16:04):
And The thing is that listeners can't hear or see what you just
did. Well, they can hear that noise,
but they can't. They can't see that you just red
button nosed me. And you're right.
Ben is really to blame over this.
Well, you're right. I don't know.
I I don't think I am to blame though.
(16:24):
So. Jamie, I'm sorry.
We're this is about this is about you and you're teaching
us, OK? You're hey, hey, hey, hey.
I'm trying to talk to my friend Jamie.
OK, OK buddy, just sit there. This.
Is going to be an ongoing war. You see?
(16:48):
Shut up. I'm sorry.
That's so mean to say. I shouldn't say those words.
Shut the fuck up there. There we go.
I'm not Austin. I I shouldn't even be speaking.
It's your turn to go ahead and question.
I asked the last question. What's my name again?
(17:09):
Starts with an A. It's not.
Austin starts with an A. Shut up.
Hey, hey, hey, hey. I have enough people in my
normal life calling me an asshole.
I don't need you to call me one too.
You anyways. Jamie.
Stuck in this world of Andy Andy's mad at me for nothing.
(17:31):
You got put into a war. Yeah.
Yeah, I I have every right to bemad.
I thought I would laugh about you, my friend said.
I don't. My friend Benjamin.
Want people to make me be a mod.I don't feel you didn't want you
to feel pressured. But I've I've never spoke those
(17:51):
words in my life. Jamie, do you believe this shit?
Would you believe him if, come on, look at me, am I really
going to say that? I'm not going to pick stuff.
See I'll. Take that as a win.
Earnest heart, all right, No, that's a loss and you're no
(18:12):
listen, listen. So within your personal
collection, we're not even talking about what you sell
because you know, that is a whole different side of this.
You know, selling is a big part of what we all do.
And you know, we all sell on what not, which we call just the
(18:34):
app or whatever. We don't always say what not
because we may sell other placesas well.
We just don't want to get, you know, flagged for anything like
that. But in your personal collection,
is there something that you value the most or more than some
(18:57):
others I. Really enjoy German marbles.
I only have two. I love marbles.
I love them and I don't know whyeither.
They're just amazing. They are.
Yeah. What it what about it that do
you specifically love? Like what?
(19:18):
What is it that draw to marbles?Because there's a lot of people
that have it, strangely. So they're just little beautiful
glass orbs. Specifically, the German marbles
are handmade. They are anywhere from 100 to
150 years old. Each color that you see on there
(19:41):
is one whole strand of glass that's been added on to the rod
of glass as they're making them. You can tell they're German
because they have tonsils on thesides of them.
They're not smooth. If it's smooth all the way
around, it's been made by a machine.
(20:02):
That's like a lathe. You know what I would have said?
They're that way because that's how they are.
They're just so beautiful. Each one is different.
There is another lady, she's on Whatnot, she just started and
she sells nothing but marbles. And I just go into her show and
(20:25):
I just like stare at her marblesas she's showing them.
She has a little. You know, that could sound a
different way. You you realize this, right?
She is showing I'm. Staring at her marbles.
I swear there I'm just staring at her marbles.
She's got a little light that she'll put the the marble on and
you can see the light shine up through the marble and it's just
(20:47):
beautiful. That's awesome, you know, and I
found looking at my own marbles and especially with my, that
sounded horrible too, but especially while going through
like newer ones that they will have a look to them.
Every single one of them has some sort of a color variation.
(21:07):
No matter what. It's not all the same, you know?
And I use UV light on them all the time and it like will pop
even if they don't have the actual glow to them, they have
this certain pop to them with the color that I just.
I love that. There's a vast amount of
knowledge to be learned with marbles.
(21:29):
I'm just kind of beginning, but like you, there's just so many
terms and the sizes and just like like the wear on them, they
have specific terms that they use for that.
And this is all stuff that I'm just now like diving into and
it's like mind blowing. Like how much?
Do you do you have any of the clay ones?
(21:50):
I have no clay marbles. I have one, it's 1 marble and I
don't know what to do with it because it's like an outcast
with every other one I actually.I.
I keep all my marbles like within my glow shelf just
(22:12):
because it seems right. Even if they don't glow, I still
keep them in there. They're a family.
Yeah. Do you guys hear my kids
Speaking of family because they're being loud right now?
No. Well.
No, OK. You just said, do you guys?
I I wasn't asking you. I meant Julian and Jamie, not
(22:36):
you and Jamie. All right?
Jeez. But going back to what you said
about like you keep learning about it, we keep finding that
with more people we talk to thatcertain things that people are
collecting and we look at it as like it's very simple.
But then the more you kind of dive in, yeah, the more you dive
(22:59):
into it. Simple.
Simple like you. Simple.
Simple like some guy that doesn't even know what he's
talking about. He's just asking questions
because what? Jeez.
Well, maybe we should call Austin up, huh?
Jamie, do you want to talk to Austin instead of this guy?
No, we're talking again. Hey, anyways, we keep learning
(23:23):
that the the more we go into these things, the more we find
out it's very vast world as far as like the marbles go.
Like you don't just look at it like it's just marbles and it's
so basic. It's it turns in to be.
Yeah, yeah, it's we just keep finding.
That every single. I think that's it's interesting
(23:44):
when we keep hearing that. So I I'm I don't know a lot
about marbles. So that that is something that I
guess I'm going to find more outthat.
I don't even know how to play marbles like the actual game
well. With collectible marbles, you
don't want to play with them because you don't want to mess.
Well, no, I'm not trying it. Well, maybe I am trying to play
(24:08):
it but. So do you have any advice on
collecting the, you know, especially with the stuff that
you collect that you could sharewith the listeners and give them
a little bit of knowledge on it as far as just advice in
general? Yeah.
(24:29):
So if you're trying to build your personal collection, try to
buy in bulk and then that way you have extra inventory to give
to other people or sell to otherpeople so that it helps cover
the cost of your collection and you can spread your collective
joy with other people. That's amazing advice.
(24:50):
I am guilty of not. Doing that.
Many, many times. Sometimes it's.
I keep everything. I end up keeping everything
instead of selling it. And that's just.
Also, I think people should treasure hunt as much as
possible. Get out there, go to estate
(25:11):
sales, go to Goodwill. You never know what you're going
to find. Every day is a new day to go
find some of the beautiful glassorbs.
Yeah, I find a lot of Fenton pieces at my local Goodwill.
Yeah. I live in a historical place, so
it's kind of like people that don't know what they have and
(25:31):
then they just are getting rid of it.
A lot of grandma's, you know, they end up dying,
unfortunately. That's sad.
Truth is that people die, I guess.
No, I mean, I'm not going to. Dad.
And it's one of the things wherehe thinks he's a Cyborg.
This is another He's a Cyborg and it and he never forgets.
(25:54):
I don't. Never.
Forgetting this hissing coming through my headphones, I don't
know what's going on. He.
Don't forget he just keeps hold on.
Let me try to get rid. Of this, it's really like a
Cyborg. I'll give him that.
It is like a Cyborg. Do you Do you hear the hissing
too, Jamie? All right, Benjamin, I accept
(26:18):
your apology. Andy.
If you would just give it to. Me.
Sorry, I didn't. No, you bailed.
You bailed on. You failed.
Oh. Well, OK, I thought.
I said failed, not bailed. Yeah, yeah.
I mean it's. Hard to You don't even listen to
words I say right now. You know, some people do collect
(26:42):
haunted items. Oh yeah.
Oh, I've never heard of such a thing.
Like if you say they will buy itlike.
That's a. That's a fact.
But eBay had taken things down for a while.
If they said haunted. Did you know that?
(27:02):
Yeah, you were not allowed to sell haunted items.
Therefore people were going around that by just well that
makes that sounds right item andnot saying it was haunted.
Well, I mean, if people are. Doing.
I don't believe it either way. E-mail them afterwards and be
like. By the way, this was might be.
(27:24):
I don't, I don't know. How's that hat?
Is that haunted? I mean, I knew it was on.
Corpse that it might be, I don'tknow where you were going with
it. I just, I don't know.
I don't know what else I didn't.Know I was going for.
Something really good. I assumed you had something so
I'm like, might be I was. Looking for the word monster in
(27:45):
corpse came out. You know, like a monster that
would ignore that a friend boy. That would have.
You're right, that would have. Just don't laugh.
If you'd have said that, I wouldhave laughed, and I probably
still be laughing right now. Oh, man.
So yeah, let's see here. Jamie, do you think that you
(28:08):
think that Andy's going too far?Do you think he should like,
accept my apology? OK.
I think Ben should just stop right now.
Don't, don't pick a side, Jamie.Stay, stay, stay neutral on it,
Jamie. You're on my side, right?
You don't need to, Jamie. You're on my side, right?
(28:29):
Jamie? You're on my side, right?
No. At all Smart people collect.
They actually collect human. Skull Yeah, I I am actually
about to get a new one. Yeah, it's actually going to
come fresh too. It's going to be awesome.
(28:51):
I just have to go to Ohio for it, which is the weirdest thing.
So anyways, Jamie, do you have any shows coming up or anything
like that that are big or you just feel like you want to let
people know about? So I've been trying to do my
shows on Wednesdays and Fridays. So as soon as we get off of
(29:15):
here, I've got a shaker show that I'm going to fire off.
I've got tons of salt and peppershakers.
Oh, I I was thinking like shaking someone like because
they don't listen to you. No, no, no.
Salt and peppies, that's what I call them.
S and PS. Salt and Peppies, I'm going to
be doing a mini show and I'm going to be doing a $3
(29:39):
liquidation show. Wow, all all the things I have
so you because those are like super popular now.
Hand on a nest? Is that what we're speaking?
It's. Dictated.
I don't know if y'all know that TikTok.
Wait, what? What?
Somebody went and like somebody famous has a lot of followers.
(30:02):
I don't know who, but they're like, oh, I'm going to give
Indiana hit on the nest and thenstarted collecting them.
So then that's why all the they. No, they.
Don't want that they. Want Moreland?
They want Indiana head on nest. You know why?
You know why they want shut up, Ben?
Do you know why they want Westmoreland, Jamie?
Why? Because it's out of Ohio.
(30:25):
No, because it's actually I'm going to drop some fun fact.
Westmoreland is the one that coined the phrase hen on nest,
or the name I suppose. I did not know that.
Before, yeah, before that they were actually made in porcelain
and then they when they started making them in glass,
(30:49):
Westmoreland was the very first company to call it hen on nest.
Yep, actually Ben doesn't. I do know.
About it so. That's because you taught me
about it. He doesn't.
You taught me about it. You taught me about.
It he doesn't know any, yeah. Yeah, you taught me about.
This me. Oh me doing oh Andy.
(31:11):
Like someone else, Andy. Oh, friend, friend, friend.
Your enemy, Andy. Yes, I'll sorry Jamie that
interrupted you there. I don't.
(31:31):
Why are you apologizing? You're the one that interrupted
that's. Pretty rude.
Sorry, Jamie. We have a guest here.
I'm not supposed to apologize, but sorry, well, you.
Are trouble. Any who you want to give us your
(31:53):
you only do on whatnot or do youhave other platforms that you
actually sell on? I have stuff listed other
places, but I generally sell mostly on whatnot.
It's more fun. Yeah, I I agree.
Excited and I can be myself instead of just posting
something and then hoping somebody finds it and buys it.
(32:14):
That's my favorite part as well is just the live auction feel.
Yeah. I mean it because there's not.
Yeah. It's, it's such a great
community, especially in the categories.
Yes, everybody fosters everybody.
Everybody's so welcoming and everybody loves to teach other
(32:36):
things to other people and stuff.
So it's just, it's a lot of fun.And that's why I think that Ben
and I have both kind of focused on having our guests for the
moment, being from the what not platform, because it is
literally the community that love that.
I've never seen it anywhere else.
(32:59):
You know, it's, it's like something that's everyone except
you in your own form. They don't, they don't want some
fake like this is a blah, blah, blah.
And it is 6 1/2 inches tall. And it's, you know, some BS that
just is being spat off because they have to sell it.
(33:22):
It's it's not even about selling.
It's about just interacting. It's definitely social.
Yes, yes. Speaking of social, social
media, Instagram, we have one ofthose.
You know that. Oh, OK.
Am I allowed to talk again? I didn't know if I was allowed
to talk. I have to wait now.
(33:43):
I have to wait now for you to tell me he doesn't.
Even pay attention to me, I was paying.
I don't even. He doesn't.
Even pay. Attention to talk.
I didn't want to interrupt anybody and get in trouble, so I
thought I was patiently. Hey, hey, quiet.
On your show. You I didn't think.
Who were you paying attention to?
Where's my friend Andy? He's not here.
I wish he was here right now. I really need him to be here.
(34:04):
And you're gone. You were.
I didn't. Hear any of that?
I was watching the whole show, I.
Don't think you were, I think. You were single bit of it, you.
Weren't there. And then I didn't even know you
were there because I couldn't see it.
You weren't there. I'm just going to shake my head.
Uh huh. Uh huh.
Uh huh. He does this all the time.
He just talks. He makes no sense.
It's just, well, you know. Thanks for thanks for being
(34:27):
here, Jamie. We really appreciate it.
I'm sorry that you're talking with us.
Had to be so. We really are friends with that.
Andy. This is all, this is all just
just for, you know, listener. This isn't a real thing.
(34:51):
Andy's not really mad at me. He keeps telling us to.
Get the listener something to listen to, you know, that's what
we decided. We decided we were going to.
Then I apologize. You know what, just because of
that, thank you. I I appreciate your you to
(35:11):
apologize and I don't until you accept mine, I'm not accepting
yours. Jamie, I'm sorry you had to deal
with Ben tonight. Yeah, I don't even know what
you. Told do it.
(35:32):
I'm going to. I'm going to throw it back here
for a minute. You had mentioned the glow on
the shazek. Shazek.
That was, that's what I was calling it when I was reading it
one day. I just kept calling it that.
So you say that you like the glow Uranium.
(35:54):
There's more than uranium as faras glows go.
Do you have it any knowledge of what the compound is that
actually gives us a glow, or what it is that glows within
glass that you could share with us as?
(36:15):
Far as I know it's the it's the uranium content.
Do you have to have a radiation reader to actually confirm if
it's is uranium? So it'll like pop up on your
little Geiger counter. You actually which mine's
broken, so that's awesome. HR Geiger, but the artist HR
(36:38):
Geiger. I don't.
Is that an artist? I don't know.
Yeah, he's he's he's actually the one that created the alien
from the movie Alien, OK. No, not that.
I, I, I, yeah, I guess that I was just throwing that out
there. It's not really.
You've been you've been telling me you.
Throw that in, I wasn't really a.
(36:58):
Conversation with somebody for so long, you finally did.
Who, who is speaking? I I think that someone's cutting
in anyways, so I was going to tell you a little bit here, but
then someone kept interrupting, so it's all right.
Never mind. It's actually the energy that is
(37:22):
coming from the UV that is hitting the glass.
It's it has energy within the glass and then when that UV hits
it, it kind of explodes. And that's what gives us the
glow Hitting it gives it energy.Interesting.
Who? Who is speaking?
(37:42):
I don't know who's someone keepswho I I'll be totally
transparent here. I was looking through my
notebook trying to. Find the notes on it I can't
find. It I'm lost, scared, lost and
scared. I don't have any friends
anymore. You know, I used to have this
(38:04):
one friend, but all right, I'm not going to go anymore with
that. I'm going to apologize.
I'm sorry, Ben. I was picking on you as being
mean, Jamie. I'm sorry that you had to be a
part of Ben being so mean to me.I learned my lesson.
I learned my lesson. Yeah, yeah, as you should.
(38:27):
Hey Jamie, you brought up a thrifting and like going out
trying to find some goods. Yeah.
Have you ever been out and like you start to get that like mid
afternoon tired? Yeah.
You know, you start feeling likea little slumpy and just like I
might need a nap. Yep, naps are the best, yes.
(38:50):
Yeah. Well, if you have a full day
ahead of you, the nap is not thebest though, because you got to
get things done. In order to sell, you have to
have that actual product there. So I have a suggestion for you.
Would you like to hear it? OK, so I know this little secret
(39:13):
called Dubby. Nope.
Ben, have you ever heard of Dubby?
Yes, Yes. No, actually.
OK. Then Dubby is actually very
good. It's a very good energy drink.
Yep, it's a energy supplement, we'll call it.
(39:39):
My point is you can go on a little website thing called
dubby dot GG and for you know a cool little thing to put in
there 10% off with collection POS.
So you don't have to do. A Dubby.
Yeah, so you don't have to do anything until you.
Pick up the move. Away you go, go to W dot GG,
(40:01):
make your selections and go to the cart and it won't show
anything to you. Hit check out and then you can
put in a coupon code and at thatpoint in time you can put in
the. It's what is it again, Andy?
I don't want to mess it up. Collection pod put that.
Collection pod. Help us out and help help
(40:25):
yourself. I I saw it being.
Like this big, You're saying sound effects?
Yeah. I guess it wasn't that
explosive, guys. I'm sorry.
I really, I really failed there.Well, Jamie, we really can't
thank you enough for coming on, chatting with us, telling us
(40:48):
about your collection you're selling, your obsessions.
Thank you for having. Me, yeah, we appreciate you and
that's. Awesome and just as we told yeah
that that one guy that just heldup pizza behind you yes we will
have you on again. We really like this is the best
(41:12):
time that we ever have when doing this is when we get to
have people on and we just get to like listenable drives them
in collecting because that's correct.
No matter how much Ben sucks, like this is the best part of
all of it is getting to interactwith our friends.
(41:33):
You know, like and that's what Iconsider the community of
whatnot is friends. You know, I I don't I don't look
at it as just like someone that I get some clowns off of here
and there or, you know, maybe some glass pieces that glow, but
you know, maybe I have got a couple of those off of you,
Jamie. In fact, one of my favorite glow
(41:57):
pieces. Do you remember the one?
Is it the little candy dish? Yes.
The Fatten 1. Yes, I don't know if I've even
called this really. Mean person.
I'm not your fatten. Not me.
I'm the really mean? Person.
Yeah. Hissing.
Hissing again. I don't.
(42:17):
I don't know what's going on here.
Yeah, it's one of my favorite pieces.
It's like front and centre on myglow shelf.
Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah.
Why? Why?
Jamie? I I I'm talking to you and I
keep hearing this other thing. Thing.
Not a person. A thing.
(42:38):
Who? Who?
Yeah. I've been there.
I know. No, he's not.
No, he's not. I'm kidding, all right?
I give up. I can't keep the shroud.
I can't keep the Shroud of Shack.
Yeah, Harry Potter. Oh no, you had to do that, He
(43:02):
just said he's giving up on everything.
He's going to stop. Oh, I never give up on that.
I never give up on that. Jamie, what?
What did you first think when you heard Ben on a show?
Like what did you think about this weird character?
(43:24):
I mean, it obviously has glassesand very clean cut and very
just, you know, Daniel Radcliffeish.
Not at all, I don't think. I think it's interesting to
actually hear the people sell their stuff without seeing them.
And then you actually see them and they're like, oh, that's
what you look. Like yeah, what the fuck is
that? Oh yeah.
(43:46):
Fun places maybe? I know you can say that it's me
that you're thinking about. I know, I get it.
I'm just that cool that people are like, Oh my God, he's way
cooler than I thought. I know I I get it.
Some people I have never seen and I'm like, I really want to
see what you look like because you don't you don't.
(44:07):
You sound like in my mind you look a certain way.
Like a Harry Potter. Maybe, but I mean I don't think
you sound like Harry Potter but.But you know what?
The funny thing is that it's noteven Harry Potter at all.
It's just that I saw a much moresophisticated.
Jacket. I wear glasses, I wear glasses.
(44:29):
You. Know, and then I got then I got
this slump literally one of the first things I did say.
Though is you're not. What I expected the first words
out of. Whether you take that in a good
(44:50):
way or a bad way, I don't care because I don't even hear you
talking. So whatever, really.
My joke has gone too long. Guys.
I'm sorry, Jamie, that you had to put up with this.
Jamie, is there anything else that you would like people to
know or just anything that you want to talk about?
(45:12):
You have to have something that you just want to throw out
there. Oh, I have a rock in my
backyard. There's a bunch of rocks.
No, no, we're. We're actually living on one
right now. This one is very special.
When I was 14, I went to the deer leaves with my mom and my
sister, and I was, you know, playing in the riverbed, the dry
(45:33):
riverbed, and I found this rock. It's massive.
It's probably 150 lbs. I made my mom and my sister and
me drag it out of the riverbed. It has all these really cool
holes in it from the water dripping.
Over it. For like thousands of years, and
I've had that rock. I mean, obviously I collected
(45:54):
rocks, but I just had to have that one.
And it's in my backyard right now, living its best life.
That's something that you you didn't even bring up about the
collecting. Is that something that you're
into? Is rocks and specimens like
that? I was a lot when I was like a
lot younger, but I get so I get kind of bored.
(46:14):
But you're like, what, 21 now? Yeah, I'm 21.
I purge collections and then I start new collections, but I
will never. I'm 18, so you know.
Yeah, put that little beard. I'm sorry, what was that?
You really glossed over the whole thing.
Yeah, yeah, I'm like a teenager, this old guy down here.
(46:47):
So do you still collect rocks atall, though?
You don't have like a little collection that's hidden
somewhere, little trinket dish that has a whole collection.
I. Do does?
It's very dusty. Does.
It's not a hen on nest is it? That you have them in?
(47:08):
No. Oh no, we.
Seem to have lost Jamie here. Our sound is lost plat, yeah.
Platform. That's not, that's not the word,
yeah. I can hear you.
Well, hey, either way, can you hear us still?
Oh, that's OK. There you are.
(47:31):
Yep. Yeah, that's all right.
It happens if if you heard all the times that Ben messed up.
Yep. You would be like, whatever,
that's no big deal. I actually found some books and
I thought of you when I bought them.
Very good. One's Fostoria somewhere up
there. And then I have a depression
(47:52):
glass book and I have a. Book.
Did you look through them? They are fun to look through,
yeah. Oh my God, there is so much
information in this foster whereyou want.
Oh yeah, that's and it's amazingand it's in great condition and
it just the. Different patterns.
Isn't that cool that once you start looking at the different
(48:12):
patterns, it's like now now whenyou go out and look at glass,
that's going to be you're going to rush home and look through
that and be like, is that something I seen in there?
That's the bad part. And all the time we'll flip
open. Mm hmm.
Yeah, hey, Jamie did. Did you know that Ben's selling
his kids? No, he's talking about my glass.
No, he's not. My glass, Josh and Jenny's.
(48:34):
His little Josh and Jenny. He turned that, he turned, he
turned, he turned my little. Yeah, his kids.
He's selling his kids. I can't believe they.
I love my kids, but that's just me.
I what? Is the.
What is the? Well, there's there's John and
Sarah and Eli. And Sarah?
(48:57):
And one, the one, the one I haveright now is John and Sarah, I
believe, not Eli and Sarah. And that's the one.
It's, it's by a different man, different manufacturer.
I I don't really understand who got the molder or much about the
(49:17):
manufacturer that made this one,but I just know that they made
small batches and of like like less than 1000 or 500 I forget
now it's been a little bit of a while since I've researched that
one. But, but I, but I like when I,
when I look through the books and find like there's been one
time I looked through a book andfound a piece that I had
(49:39):
recently sold and it was a rarity item and I had no idea it
was that rare. And I was like, oh, that's nice.
Like, you know, people put rare up, but then you question like,
is it rare or not? This was 100% a rarity item and
I just completely just sold it for probably way less than it
was worth. But that's OK.
That's what happens when you don't research stuff.
That's what happens when you don't research stuff.
(50:02):
But I did look through the booksmultiple times.
I just missed it. Yeah.
What? Oh.
Yeah, yeah. That's, that's right.
Yeah, I know. Yeah.
Yeah, he, he's, he's blind as a bat.
Yeah. That's why he thinks he's still
talking to people right now, youknow?
(50:23):
Yeah. Oh, so it was brought up
earlier. I just was looking through my
notes here. Jamie, do you have anything that
you feel is a very unusual or unique piece that maybe no one
really has other than this one piece you have?
(50:46):
Is there anything like crazy Let.
Me. Look, let me.
Think are those swung vases up top?
There are those just. They're not my favorite thing.
Really. I have this ship.
(51:08):
OK this is from the early night. It's a.
Glass ship, isn't it? The milk glass ship this was to
complete the sinking of the mainoutside of Cuba for the Spanish
American war and slack with glass made this and this one in
particular doesn't have a Maker's Mark on the bottom just
(51:32):
some sticker residue and it's basically it was given as a
promotional item because it doesn't have the stamp on it and
it had mustard inside of it and if.
You like full on mustard or likemustard packets?
Wow, that's cool. They didn't make mustard packets
back in 19 Oh. Yep.
(51:52):
They were just. Throwing mustard all up in that
bitch, yes. They were and.
That's really cool. Connected like it has a piece of
glass right here that like connects it.
Mine does not. So that's how I know mine was,
that is. Cool.
OK. Weird.
It's so much I've. Never.
(52:13):
Seen that has to be kind of Yeah, I've never seen one of
them. That is really cool.
Is that something that's in yourpersonal?
Oh no, that's for sale. Oh my, don't tell me.
Words like that, it's like. My husband always says, oh, let
(52:34):
me guess, you're going to sell it.
Oh, let me guess, you're going to sell it.
And then I. Was actually wondering about
this clown behind you truthfully.
Oh. I just put it here so you can
sing it and his name is Bing Bong.
I think there's AI think there'ssome random clown paintings out
in your garage perhaps that are mine actually, you just don't
(52:58):
know it yet. I have.
A. Box see.
I I. Think I just spoke the truth
there. My clowns are actually getting
out of control to the point where I think I might be coming
10. Definitely.
(53:20):
Is there anything else, Ben, that you would like to spit?
Because you know. It's not going to be useful
anyways, but otherwise I'm just thank you so much for being here
and I knew it wasn't. I wasn't going to get to SO.
Yeah, exactly. So thank you, Jamie, you.
Gonna be selling them coin dot pieces.
Oh boy. They're for sale.
(53:42):
Oh no. Oh, Benny boy.
Little Benny, a little Ben, Ben,little Benjamin.
I have that one you. Probably already have them.
Do you have this one? He wants he wants that one.
Oh, actually I want. I love that.
Just to shove it in his face. I want to get it and break it in
(54:07):
front of him. Absolutely not.
I would never actually do that to a piece purposely I.
Have. Many pieces of glass on
accident, actually. Speaking of which, I had this on
(54:28):
a ray train recently and it broke today.
It's a chalkware dog, it's an Irish Setter.
And my foot got caught on its belly as I was stepping and it
just like popped off. And I think that moisture had
actually got into it and then itjust like came off because it's
(54:49):
a very. Clean break.
But that's very disheartening. You got any horror stories of
breaking Jamie? What did I break?
We all have them. I had a little trinket box.
I was getting ready to list it and I couldn't open it and I
just pulled the top off and I broke it.
(55:10):
Oh man, that sucks. Yeah, that, that sometimes.
Is confusing when they're like that.
This past this past weekend, I sold something that I got from
you. Actually, I I sold the little
hen trinket box, a tiny little guy, but it was in the Mucky COO
(55:36):
Barnyard raid train, so yeah, fair war, you know?
Question, did you give Midget her mushroom?
Yeah. Oh, yeah, of course, of course I
did. She's got, she's got a budding
collection that, like, is kind of making me jealous at this
point. I'm probably going to have to
(55:58):
beat her up. I mean, it just has to happen.
It's no big deal. Ben, don't you even chime in?
I see your mouth about to move anyway, so I was just talking to
my friend Jamie here and I don'tneed your bullshit here.
You need to foster her collect date made her own curio cabinet.
Did you happen to hear the Easter bonus episode?
(56:20):
I haven't listened yet, I've been really busy.
There, there's two extreme collectors on there that I mean,
they blew my mind hearing about it.
OK, I'll go listen. It's my big little one and Ben's
(56:40):
little little one, because mine is my oldest and his is the
youngest. Yeah, they're going to outshine
US one day. They're going to be doing this
podcast. Way better than we can.
They're already professionals. Yeah, they don't have to try too
hard, period. That's the cool thing about
(57:06):
collecting. Anybody can collect anything.
Everybody's passionate about something.
Some people like collect becauseit's fast aesthetic.
Some people collect because theydon't want to see a whole bunch
of ladders go to waste. I was watching American Pickers
and this guy had over like thousands and thousands of
ladders because he didn't want them to go to waste.
(57:29):
And he just had. Someone's got to climb them.
Ladders here, ladders there, ladders everywhere.
And it was just like collected ladders.
I mean, you have like thousands,so yeah.
That's really yes, yes, that's been a theme that we've been
picking up, that you can collectanything.
(57:50):
And it started with Kim saying it on the first episode that we
had a guest, and then Julian also had spoke of it.
And like, it's now echoed through my entire life that
people are saying it. And I'm like all these people
are picking up on the fact that you can collect anything, you
know, just like you had said about The Rock, You can
(58:13):
literally pick up rocks and it'sa collection if you so choose
that it's a collection, you know, and, and like, that's up
to everyone's opinion on what collecting is.
I think everybody I know collects something if you don't
collect anything. I don't think people realize
they're collecting stuff. Sometimes I think I agree.
(58:36):
You know, I think people start. Yeah.
Collecting things. And they just, they like them,
but they don't realize they're collecting things.
And I've realized that about myself, about certain things.
Oh. I I think I need to collect a
new Co host. He's not going to give up.
I, I said I dropped it, man. Just you drop it.
(58:59):
Jeez. You keep bringing it up anyways,
Jamie, thank you so much for doing this.
If you don't mind to stick around here for a second and
we'll have a little chat after we're done with this and maybe
Ben goes away. But but thank you so much.
(59:22):
And if you would one more time just shout out your what not
name so everyone can give you a follow.
OK, my name is Bluebonnet under Score Vintage and I buy and sell
treasures. And what what are those nights
that you do shows? Wednesdays and Fridays.
(59:44):
What time are you on? It varies, just depends on what
I work so. You are you are Central time
compared to us, so we are Eastern.
Yeah. So it's usually anywhere from
4:00 to 6:00. Excellent, excellent.
Thank you so much. I appreciate you words to
mutter. Yeah.
(01:00:06):
Thank you. Appreciate y'all, thank you so
much, it's been awesome. Thanks, we'll talk to you soon.
OK I just wanted to jump on hereto tell everyone that instead of
the normal song I decided to puta song from my old band Ness.
(01:00:27):
Yeah, my friend Jason passed away last year, so.
(01:02:37):
None.
