This episode, we unpack the tantalizing notes of Kajal's Lamar Noir, an intriguing blend that immediately sparks a playful debate. Jonesox’s review gives us a good laugh, while memories of our own linguistic missteps with words like "persnickety" remind us that exploring scents is as much about personal stories as it is about the fragrances themselves. Special guest Laci joins with her vibrant enthusiasm, sharing her passionate thoughts on this unisex perfume that bridges the gap between the feminine Lamar and the masculine Kajal IV.

Ryan (00:03):
hello everybody, welcome to the clone podcast I'm mike,
I'm ryan.

Myke (00:07):
We're two best friends.
We're going on a fragrancejourney.
We're smelling brand newfragrances from good job and
giving you uneducated opinionsthat's right, mike.

Ryan (00:16):
We're smelling brand new fragrance about kajal.
Well, I don't want to say we'resmelling.
We've already smelled thisbefore.
Yeah, but we're still gonnasmell it.
Yeah, we're still gonna smellit again.
Smelled this before, oh, yeah, but we're still going to smell
it.
Yeah, we're still going tosmell it again, but it's a brand
new one called Lamar Noir.
Oh yeah, a flanker of Lamar, which both of us fucking love.
Yes, now, I don't.
This is just my opinion.

(00:37):
I feel like it's more for theladies out there.
Uh-huh, I agree, and I'vesmelled it a few times, and
every time I've smelled it, it'salmost like Starburst-y candy.
I don't know how to explain it.
It's gorgeous, great smell.

Myke (00:51):
It's like if Starburst had a rose flavor Rose and
pineapple.
Speaking of Starburst andflavors and people named Joan
Socks on Fragrantica, Just reada review for this.
As you guys know, we like todig deep to find the greatest

(01:11):
reviews on the planet.
What did you do?
Like five minutes of research?

Ryan (01:15):
Yeah.

Myke (01:21):
Always like.
All right, obviously we'regoing to like this fragrance.
So let's find someone whodoesn't like it, and that's Joan
Socks, who says leather period, the end period.
Roll the credits.

Ryan (01:37):
That's it.
Huh, just leather, juststraight leather.
Okay, we'll see where thatstands later in the episode.

Myke (01:44):
Let's just see if that genius out there on Fragrance
goes right, you're beingpersnickety, I am.

Ryan (01:52):
Remember the first time you used the word persnickety
around me?
We're at a wedding venue.
You don't remember using that?
No, I don't.
You admitted to me and thatperson that day that let us in
there because we wereinterviewing that couple for the
one video and you were usingpersnickety and you were telling
them the reason why was becauseyou had, like a word, calendar
oh no, I was lying, oh youbastard.
I was like secret.

(02:12):
I was like what a loser I hadas a word calendar.

Myke (02:16):
No, no, no you lied about that.
Yes, I did.
Wow, what else you fuckinglying about?
Well, I wasn't like.
It was like joking, like oh,you know, I got a word in the
day calendar I got to use.

Ryan (02:28):
I thought you were being for real.
No, holy shit, my whole life'sa lie right now.
What the fuck?

Myke (02:32):
I'll tell you exactly where I first heard that word
Okay.
It was from.
I think.
The company is called Sergentothe cheese company Okay, and
their slogan is PersnicketyPeople, Exceptional Cheese.
Is that really their slogan?
I think so, or at least it wason, and I just kept going

(02:55):
Persnickety.
I was like that's a really dumbword that I'm going to use a
lot, Wow.

Ryan (03:02):
And here I am using it, trying to be real with it.
Yeah, yeah, okay, yep, thereyou go, all right.
Well, let's, uh, let's, smellthis beautiful fragrance, yeah
and give you an opinion about it.

Myke (03:15):
Some would say we're persnickety about fragrances
fuck me guys.

Ryan (03:27):
I'm just gonna say this out the gate you've listened to
this show, you poor bastards, for over three years now, going
on four this year, right, yes, that's right, like I've never
done anything longer than afucking month, yeah for sure,
damn.
But if you listen to this show,I'm about to get ron's walking
papers right now it's like Ican't be committed this one well

(03:51):
, if you listen to the show, youknow like I'm the one of the
two, I'm the one that's likegive me the smoke.
You know what I'm saying.
Like I want the loud shit, Iwant it to be abrasive, you want
it as loud as possible and youknow I do not shy about spraying
something like fucking crazy.
Yeah, I just don't.
I'm here to tell you guys Imean, just smell it fresh again

(04:11):
right now.
This is god that it really ispretty.
This is one of the loudestfragrances I have ever smelled,
genuinely, yes, so much.
So I've told mike, off air, this would be one of the very
few there's literally less thana handful that I would just be
like two or three sprays.

(04:32):
I'm good, yes, because it isfucking crazy you would not need
many for this one.

Myke (04:38):
What are you smelling?
By the way, we just sprayed it?
What do you smell when you'reputting your hand up to your
nose?

Ryan (04:45):
or you got this deaster strip well, when we first
smelled this, when it first camein, because kajal has sent over
45 decants for us to give outto our patreon.
So if you're a patreon member, yeah, you got a damn good chance
.
You're gonna get exactly.
And of course, and of course wewere like we got to smell this
shit right now, before we evensaid anything to anybody.

(05:07):
So we did and I mean I loved itthen, but it was like crazy
leather and pretty much smokedto me.
But I don't get that 100%.
Now I wouldn't say I wasn't asmean about it as that guy was,
but I was like it's fuckingleather, it's like the leather
of all leathers.
Right now I'm like I can smellthe undertone of the original

(05:32):
lamar.
There is a little sweetness toit and even spraying it.
Now since the last time we'vesmelled this we've smelled a
couple of times before.
Now it smells a little bitdifferent again, like I guess
what I'm trying to say is likeand I don't mean this in a bad
way, but it might not be for thefaint of heart.

Myke (05:46):
Well, it is gas peddled down to the floor.

Ryan (05:51):
Absolutely.
But also in saying that I thinkthat's where this is not a
challenge in a bad way.
But after a few wearings you'regoing to smell what this
thing's kicking up.

Myke (06:01):
This actually segues into what we want to talk about.
One is that we've done aninterview with Mo, from Kajal,
about this fragrance and sowe're about to jump into the
inspiration of it.
But I want to preface it bysaying it makes sense because
this fragrance was made by, Iwon't say a novice, but somebody

(06:21):
who was entering into makingfragrances, and you think about
where that person is versussomebody who's been down the
road, yeah, a few years.
After a while it becomes a job.
But that first fragrance hasgot to be like full of just
passion.
I think that's kind of wherethis comes from.
Like you're saying, it's notfor the faint of heart, it is

(06:42):
intense, it's very over the topand I think that comes along
with that.
This is this guy's first swing.

Moe (06:50):
In fact, let's just play that clip from mo where he kind
of talks about where thisinspiration came from you know,
when you have a fragrance that'sdoing well, like lamar for us
as, uh, one of our top sellers,so you start to think of what if
I have an intense version?
What if I have like an elixir?
So that was the main conceptthat I was trying to do was to

(07:13):
come up with something regardingLamar that could be heavier,
you know, more concentratedscent, and so it was one of our
companies that we deal with thatprovide us the oil for Lamar.
They work with Mark Buxton forthis fragrance and their offices
are right opposite our officesin Dubai.
Usually the sales manager ofthe region.

(07:37):
I'd call him and we'd go out forlunch, sometimes together, or
dinner, or you know, we'd walkacross to a restaurant, across
our offices, and so it was oneof those days.
I called him and we decided tomeet up for lunch and we met at
the Peruvian restaurant eatingceviche, and then I was telling

(07:57):
him of the new project and thatI wanted to send the brief to
Mark Buxton so that Mark cancome up with a new fragrance for
us for Lamar that was more onthe intense side.
He told me that he was studyingto become a perfumer.
He wanted to change hisprofession, so in-house, with
the companies working with.
He was studying to become aperfumer and he's like you know

(08:19):
what?
I'm not supposed to do thisbecause I'm still a student.
I'm going to try to dosomething for you, yeah, and to
see you might like it.
I'm like, okay, why not you?

Myke (08:30):
know, so we love the rebels out there yeah.

Moe (08:34):
So he told me, um, I'll let you know.
Uh, what are you thinking ofcalling it?
I told him I don't not sure yet.
Could be lamar intense, couldbe Lamar Elixir.
He's like, why not call itLamar Noir?
I'm like, oh my God, thattotally makes sense.
And then he told me, you know,if you want to call it Lamar
Noir, I'll make it so that it'sa darker version of the Lamar.

(08:58):
A month later I got the modsfrom Mark Buxton and I tried
them and at the same time, whenthey delivered them to us, I had
this file from Patrick, andPatrick's vial was, you know,
just blew me away because itsort of was a different aspect
to Lamar, not very similar, butit had that DNA.

(09:21):
So it was that nice sort ofessence that you like from lamar
, but then totally covered andtotally encapsulated with
darkness, the, the leather, thewood, right in the, in the
fragrance.
So I told them you know what?
This is your first fragranceand it's a winner.
It's so good.
Even their companies like howyou.

(09:42):
We have so many perfumers thatsubmit so many things and they
never get lucky or chosen andPatrick's first submission was
his first winner.

Myke (09:54):
So that is wild.
We were saying this off airbefore we connected with you
that like he'll probably bechasing that the rest of his
career, that just like firsttime at bat hits a home run.
Like how do you get that?
Yeah, exactly, okay, guys,we're back, we're still smelling
this and off air ryan, you werekind of talking about this

(10:16):
fragrance continues to open up,like as you've smelled it and
you guys probably know this fromother fragrances you have,
especially if they're reallystrong in a certain direction.
Yeah, when you first get hitwith the initial burst, it's
like whoa, this specificfragrance, whoa, it's leather,
it is strong, dark, woodsyleather.
And then I remember the firsttime we sprayed it as it was

(10:40):
drying down.
Then we're like, oh, there'smore of that, lamar, there's
more of that as it was dryingdown.
Then we're like, oh, there'smore of that, lamar, there's
more of that.
But now that we're smellingthis, it's deeper and richer and
more nuanced than what weremember the first time.
I think because we were sotaken aback by how strong and
rich that leather smell is.
And now we're getting to aplace where now we've smelled it
, we've kind of got used to it,we're learning all the corners

(11:03):
and edges of it and when wesmell it now I agree I'm picking
up more of that Lamar DNA.
Yeah, it's like sweet the roseis coming through really strong.

Ryan (11:18):
It's honestly perplexing me how it can be this much.
I mean, I guess it shouldn't,because we were fucking blown
away by must revageur after ayear of hating it.

Myke (11:30):
That's a great example of how, the first time we smelled
it, we didn't pick up all thethings, and then the next time
we went through, we're like, oh,we get the vanilla in there now
.
Now we understand that this isgenuinely blowing my mind.

Ryan (11:37):
It's hard to like wrap my head around it, because I wasn't
smelling any of this lamarundertone, if I'm just being
real, the first time.
It was just like god damn, thisthing's fucking.
It made sense.
It's leathery, it's smokywoodsy, that's dark, that's noir
.
Right, yeah, I feel like ithits that mark, but now it's
like I do for a person.
If you really do love theoriginal lamar, this would be

(11:58):
something pretty interesting toyou.
That would be a flanker, butquite a bit different, but you'd
still have that undertone ofwhat you originally loved.

Myke (12:07):
You're definitely picking it up more now than maybe you
were the first time becauseyou're hit with such a strong
present, unique leather,honestly.
Yeah, there's like thisresinous smokiness to it when
it's not just leather, there'smore.
Yeah, but now that we'resmelling it this time and we're
kind of focusing on it, I thinksometimes your attention to the

(12:29):
fragrance matters too.
Yeah, because I think we wereso hyped up Look, when they sent
us the box.
It's a massive box of these.
It took up the whole fuckingtable.
It's the craziest thing we hadever received, honestly, for the
podcast, because it's likeclose to 50 travel atomizers in

(12:51):
boxes, in leather pouches.
We're like this is Christmas tous.
You know, getting this stuff,we're kind of overwhelmed, so
it's taken some time to reallywear it and get used to it and
stuff like that to reallyunderstand what's going on,
because there is a lot to it.
There definitely is which isdifferent than what Joan Sox was

(13:11):
saying, which it was onlyleather and maybe off the
initial burst.
You think that.

Ryan (13:17):
I think this guy just smelled his initial reaction.
If I had to give you my initialreaction just off the first rip
, I would have been like oh,this is like one of the most
leathery leathers you're evergoing to smell, with some smoke
to it.
Now that I've worn it a fewtimes, though, it is definitely
not that it smells so freakinggood and, honestly, it's
balanced well.

(13:38):
Yes.

Myke (13:41):
Very well balanced.
We talk later in the interviewand we won't cut to that because
it was just one meanderingthought I had.
But if you know Kajal's line, they have this Lamar, and then
they have Kajal Om 4.
I think maybe it's just calledKajal 4 at this point.

(14:04):
And then they have thisfragrance, lamar Noir, and Lamar
Noir fits right in betweenLamar and Kajal 4.
And Lamar feels more feminine, kajal 4 feels more masculine and
this is right in the middle.
It like bridges the gap betweenthe two fragrances which, for

(14:25):
somebody to out of the box, justtheir first fragrance, their
first brief or whatever, thefirst swing at bat, he was able
to make a fragrance that linedup with the, the direction that
they wanted, made a good flankerof the original fragrance,
which was the intent, but thenstill made it land to where it

(14:48):
smelled like a part of the house.

Ryan (14:50):
Yeah, it's really impressive, very impressive, as
I always say, to double stampthis, but legit.
I feel like this is moremasculine, obviously, than the
original Lamar, but it's not somuch so that a that a lady
couldn't wear this.
I genuinely feel like this is aperfect unisex, but in a very
dark way.

(15:10):
Does that make sense?
yeah, for sure, okay yeah, there's something special that's
happening and actually let'scut to another clip from this
interview yeah, so in this clipthis is where we were talking to
mo uh about the perfumer andthis being their first one and
how they kind of came about itand, honestly, how it came about
being selected.

Moe (15:30):
So roll that beautiful clip , todd part of, I think why it's
such a well done fragrance froma student is because I think
what he's learning he'simplementing in the structure
and the knowledge of how notesreact with each other and how to

(15:51):
get.
I think part of that science isfound in the creation.
So it's really a science meetsart and I think he wouldn't have
embarked on that journey if hedidn't know that he liked, you
know he had that touch of art increating fragrances.
So I think that's where there'sa little difference in the
scent.

Ryan (16:12):
It's because of that particular point all right,
let's just kind of get into itnow.
You've heard all a couple clipshere, but let's let's talk
about the price and popularity.
Price for 100 ml $260.
Okay, not crazy.

(16:33):
This is like standard nichepricing.
Definitely, by the way, everytime I'm about to read you the
price and popularity, but I hadto pass by the bottle.
Briefly here, the bottle looksnuts.
I love the bottle, yes.

Myke (16:45):
It is slick and if you're patreon, you can go and listen
to the full interview that wehad with mo.
You'll get to hear alldifferent kinds of stuff.

Ryan (16:53):
They talk about.
They talk about that yeah, talkabout the bottle design, but the
popularity is a 3.93 out of 5pretty decent.
It's still fairly new, sothere's not like a lot of votes
in, but I just.
It is a badass fragrance whichalso lends me to want to ask you
, mike, you said it's a littlebit of lamar, it's a little bit

(17:13):
of four.
Yeah, it's meat and happy inthe middle.
We both kind of can sense thatit's unisex, right?
Yeah, very to the best of yourability, if you could dial in,
who do you think this suits thebest?
Like who's wearing this?

Myke (17:27):
I wish we could get her on here.
I know, is that what you'retalking about?
Yeah, we had planned to get acall from her.

Ryan (17:37):
He's desperately going to try right now.
Hello.

Laci (17:49):
Hey Licky, Are you done going through the eisenhower
tunnel?
This isn't lucky, this is lacyoh hey, lacy, yes Is this, the
Uneducated Idiot, the ElvaCologne podcast.

Moe (18:05):
Wow, oh she's coming in swinging.

Laci (18:11):
Hey, okay, I'm kidding.
It's so good to hear from youguys.

Ryan (18:16):
It's good to hear from you .
You know this is your firstappearance technically on the
show, but not your first realappearance, and that's going to
happen in the near future.

Laci (18:24):
You're going to come by and see us, right yes, okay, if
that includes that mexican movieyou're always talking about oh
la finca.
Yeah, you're gonna get that, for sure, yeah all the things to
talk about at that appearance.
But today, what are we talkingabout?

Myke (18:46):
We're talking about Lamar Noir, oh baby.

Ryan (18:50):
Yeah, so you were an original Lamar fan, right?
Yes, and since you are aPatreon, that's right, mike
hooked you up with a decant.

Laci (19:02):
Because I'm loyal and faithful.

Myke (19:04):
Loyal and what I'm sorry you're cutting out.

Laci (19:09):
Yeah it sounds like you got your windows down and you're
at F-150.
I am driving, but I'm a loyaland faithful Patreon member
since the beginning.

Myke (19:18):
Yes, you were one of the first ones.
Yeah, that's true.
You've been a longtimesupporter of the podcast, even
before patreon existed.

Ryan (19:28):
I believe at one point you did buy us some coffees and
it's always been my pure delightto watch mike get angry.
When you want to call and putit on speakerphone so that you
can talk to me yeah, I just yeah.

Laci (19:42):
I get to work with him, sometimes with the business, but
I never get to have enough Ryanin my life, so I do like to
talk on speaker sometimes andchat with him.

Myke (19:52):
He's doing it now.

Ryan (19:52):
He's doing it now.

Myke (19:53):
I'm just the conduit for which your love for Ryan flows.

Laci (19:59):
I mean, I'm probably not the only one on the podcast that
feels that way, which is alittle chuckle and wow okay,
well, do I need to step?
Out and let you guys have amoment but I will say that, yes,
I do have the caviar.
I have a few and I'm neverdisappointed comparing it, I

(20:23):
guess, to the original lamar.

Ryan (20:24):
What do you think about the Lamar Noir?
Like the flanker of that?

Laci (20:27):
Well, I definitely think that—flanker that's such a funny
word.
I do think it's like really—Ido think it's really strong.
Yeah, it has a lot of kick, which I love.
I love a good, strong fragrancethat leaves a trail behind me.
That's my jam.

Ryan (20:47):
Yes, ma'am.

Laci (20:48):
So I do love that about it .
I feel like the Lamar is moresweet.
Where I feel like this one ismore like.
I don't know, I'm a big like Ilike to do seasonal fragrances,
so I like a sweet for the summer, spring vibes, and then I feel
like this one's a little moredark and moody and I like that
for more fall and winter.

Myke (21:08):
Oh, that's an interesting take because we typically think
of like you would go sweeter forthe colder months.

Ryan (21:17):
But this dark and moody is where you want to go.
Huh yeah, she's dark and she'smoody.

Laci (21:25):
Yeah, I like that in the fall and winter Because fall
especially, that's when I bestout my ombre leather, my lojon,
a lot of the darker fragrances.
But I do like summer, especially the Lamar.
I really like the pineapple inthe Lamar.
It's my favorite.

Ryan (21:39):
I've got to ask you this because I've said this in the
episode as well, but does theoriginal Lamar?

Laci (21:46):
kind of remind you of Starburst candy a little bit.
I've never thought of that, butI want to go home and smell it
to see.
But probably, yeah, I mean Ican see that.

Ryan (21:53):
I mean, I'm not cheaping it down, I don't think it smells
amazing.
It smells incredible, but itkind of reminds me of that.

Laci (22:00):
I mean, who doesn't like Starburst Right?
Starburst right I'm.

Myke (22:01):
I can see that I'm more of a chocolate fan instead of like
a hard candy fan yeah, I loveit all actually.

Laci (22:10):
Well, yeah, I don't know.
I'll have to try it and see.
I do have some left in mybottle, so I'll have to see.

Myke (22:15):
If I saw that starburst, that's interesting so, overall,
you want to give the listeners askip it, a sample sample.
It buy it.
What do you think about thisnew Lamar Noir?

Laci (22:25):
It does come across like ripped.
I think that the dry down issuper great and it like I said,
it's one of my favorite thingsabout all cajoles is they do
have a longevity to wear a longtime.
I don't feel like they die downto nothing for a while.
They do have a good longevity,which I that's what I look for

(22:46):
when I'm getting a fragrance, soI do love that about all cajol
fragrances that I've experiencedso far.
Hopefully I can have moresomeday, but I do like that.
But I think the longevity isreally good, so I would say it
would be a buy it for me okay, hey, that's uh strong words from
licky.

Myke (23:03):
Oh my gosh, you don't want to be part of the icky trinity.

Laci (23:08):
Oh, that is the dumbest thing, and I'm not wearing the
same color shirt as them either.
That is so true.
Look what is this plan y'allhave?

Ryan (23:15):
Me and Mike.
You're not one where two.
Hey, me and Mike, embraced, having Y's in our name, it's
true.

Myke (23:21):
And wearing black shirts all the time.
It's true, and wearing blackshirts all the time.

Laci (23:26):
Yeah, what the hell?
I don't know.
Ryan shirts have gotten alittle crazy recently.
They always get something crazy, okay.

Ryan (23:31):
Real talk.
That's like not what I wearnormally it is, but it's shirts
that.
I love, but I never get achance to wear because I feel
like people would ostracize meout in real world.
So I'm like I'll wear it onthis damn show.

Laci (23:48):
And you can't see it because there's a table in the
way, but he wears clown shoes aswell.
Wait, what did you say?
Clown shoes?
Yeah oh my god yeah I knew it.
I knew he were stretchy pantswith clown shoes okay, lacy,
it's.

Ryan (24:08):
It's been good chatting with you.

Laci (24:09):
Thank you for giving us all this detailed information
yeah, I look forward to hearingfrom y'all again sometime okay,
have a great day, all righty'all too bye-bye.

Ryan (24:21):
Just smelling it now really quick and you're saying
that?
Am I crazy?
It is like a smoky rose kind ofthing going on.
Yeah, absolutely, I'm genuinelylike, trust me, it's been on
air off, air over here.

Myke (24:31):
I'm like for real, taken back by how different it's been
after each drive, you know, andthat kind of goes to fragrances
in general.
Yeah, you know, given yourcircumstance, situation,
ambiance of wherever you're at,you know, fragrances smell
different, yeah, on differentpeople.
And I mean, I told you about Ihelped a friend with their

(24:52):
christmas minis and one of theguys comes in.
It smells better than anybodythat's walked in all day, yeah,
and I was like man.
I had to ask him.
I was like, what are youwearing?
Because I, you know, I'm biginto smells and fragrances and
I'm curious what your cologne is, because it smells so good.
You remember what he said.
I don't remember Sauvage, god.

(25:13):
And look, and it generallysmelled amazing.
It smelled amazing.
It did not smell like Sauvageeither.
It smelled crazy different onhim and I was shocked.
And so you know, it justdepends on the situation and
scenario, but I do feel likesometimes, you know, wherever
you're at it brings outsomething different in the
fragrance.

Ryan (25:33):
Are you going to skip it?

Myke (25:35):
sample it or buy it.
What are you going to do, ryan?

Ryan (25:40):
For right now I'm going to sample the hell out of it, one
I have access to be able to.
Yeah, you know the travel hellout of it, one I have access to
be able to.
You know the travel atomizer ofit, which, by the way, you guys
, seriously you guys are notready for this travel atomizers.
They are super nice andrefillable.
They're sick.
I'm gonna sample this a lotmore because I don't know if
it's my vibe, but it does checkoff everything else that I like

(26:04):
in a fragrance.
It's stout, I will promise youthis.
Y'all know I'm not the pitchall beast mode shit, but this
lasts a long fucking time, yeahit is a massively strong
fragrance.
We literally he wasn't joking.
We got messed up with theweather.
We started this recording.
We sprayed this on the testerstrip.
When was that Wednesday orThursday?

(26:24):
Yeah, wednesday, Come backrecording.
We sprayed this on the testerstrip.
When was that Wednesday orThursday?
Yeah, wednesday, come backtoday.
We're finishing this the daybefore the release, by the way.
Yeah, sunday.
And it's still very strong onthe tester strip.
Yeah, it's super loud.
So it answers all that for meand it's not the.
I mean I love how it smells.
I just don't know if it's mything right now.

(26:45):
I mean, I love how it smells, Ijust don't know if it's my
thing right now.
So I'm going to sample it somemore.
But even during this recordingI was telling him a little bit
off air.
I was just like man, thissmells so different and it
smells so good.
Yeah, it just has this weirdfringe thing going on with this
sweet undertone.
It's really sharp and I'vealready gotten compliments on it
, like I said prior, but it's ahard sample to a possible buy

(27:08):
right now.

Myke (27:14):
Yeah, I think for me.
In the interview I talked aboutlayering this.
I think this is a greatfragrance, especially for a lady
.
If you're looking for somethingwith some attitude, this is
great.
There's a sweetness to it.
There's that kind of Lamarundertone to it.
This is great.
I's a sweetness to it.
There's that kind of Lamarundertone to it.
This is a great.
I would recommend strongsamples for the ladies.
For me, I've been layering thisa lot with Lunarosa Carbon.
I really like that.

(27:35):
I've also been layering it withsome stronger citruses type
fragrances.
I've done Wu Long Cha as welland I really like that vibe.
I literally only do one spray,so my travel atomizer will last
forever because it's it's soloud.
The day that we got this sobefore christmas, yeah, and we

(28:00):
sprayed it I got some on myjacket.
It's still on my jacket I I canstill smell it.
It's strong, it is so strong,so I really like it.
I think it's fun like that.
For me, this is such a strongfragrance.
I have difficulty really goingheavy on some strong fragrances,
so I can't just do five or sixsprays of this thing.

(28:22):
It's really so loud, but theprofile of it is incredible and
I remember because this remindsme so much of kajal 4 when we
were in milan.
They let me smell it and I wastelling the guys I was like
please just go to the kajalbooth and ask mo to smell,
because at that time they hadn'teven talked about them, they

(28:43):
just had like bottles to kind ofshow some of the friends you
know.
Yeah, and this is the, this isfour this is four, which is very
similar to this in like thatleathery smoky, yeah, you know,
woodsy sort of a thing, but witha heavier masculine lean.
But I just remember loving itand I was like I want to wear
fragrances like this because itto me it smells very

(29:06):
sophisticated and I do veryclean, very citrusy fragrances.
So I need fragrances like thisin my collection and I need to
embrace them more, I think forme.
I just don't want to be so loudwith it, so I have to find ways
to balance, yeah, like uh, kindof cut it down in a way, yeah
and uh, and wearing differentways, but it's so great if

(29:29):
you're into super loud, you gotit in this one.
This is a powerhouse of afragrance absolutely, he is not
kidding yeah, I think it'sperfectly right down the middle.
Guys can wear this.
They won't have any issues.
Every time I've let a guy smellit, they've gone like whoa.
That's a strong masculinefragrance.
That's that leather, that'sthat woodsy smoky.

(29:51):
Where the hell are?

Ryan (29:52):
you showing this to people ?

Myke (29:55):
don't want to put them on blast, no damn that smells good.
Well, one of them is uh is afriend, patreon, and his kiddos
too, and they all were obsessedwith this thing.
And then, whenever I've showedladies it's the opposite, they
go wow, this is this beautiful, dark sort of mysterious female

(30:16):
fragrance.

Ryan (30:17):
Yeah.
So, basically, you're justsaying, all around, it's just a
great unisex fragrance, absolutely Well, before we go,
though, we should have teasedthis early on.
Sorry, we are fucking terrible.
They were the worst.
Hey look we just went throughTexas Winter Storm 2.0.

Myke (30:34):
You're going to have to give us a little break.
Snowmageddon yeah, literallygot 17 snowflakes out there and
they shut down schools, roads,everything.

Ryan (30:43):
Yeah, that was the weirdest part.
They shut down the school twodays in a row.
Yeah, and there was no reason.

Myke (30:48):
There was no precipitation out here.

Ryan (30:51):
We should have teased this a little earlier ago, but Kajal
teased a little somethinginteresting.

Myke (30:57):
Yeah, as you do.
At the end of the episode youask hey, so what's coming up,
what's the new future thing?
And Mo hipped us to some prettyexciting news for Kajal and
we're going to share with youwhat he said Future of Kajal.

Moe (31:15):
So we have a very I don't know if it's innovative.
We're one of the first.
I'm not going to say we're thefirst, but we're coming up with
a new idea subscription service.
Oh cool okay so I I thought wewere the first people to do it,
but then somebody told me no,there's another brand similar,

(31:36):
but we're doing a twist on onwhat they're doing.
We're having a subscriptionservice where people can
subscribe to kajal and it'sgoing to be called the Kajal
Immersive Scent Society.
Okay, and every month we willrelease a fragrance that's
exclusive for the Scent Societyof Kajal, wow, and it'll tell a

(32:01):
story.
So we're developing a story ofyou know a story.
So we're developing a story ofyou know, think, harry potter,
slash, lord of the rings, okay, thousand and one nights and um,
that combined, we're we'retelling a story and the story
will tell of, like, an adventurethat we will carry through
month to month.
Yeah, it'll, uh, each monthwill release an elixir that's

(32:25):
related to that story of thatmonth.

Ryan (32:27):
Are you saying only the people that are subscribing will
get a chance to smell thesefragrances?

Moe (32:33):
The intention is to have the fragrances exclusive for the
subscribers.

Ryan (32:37):
Interesting.
That will be fun, that will be,that's interesting.

Moe (32:42):
I know it won't be big quantities, but it's just the
opportunity to build somethinginteresting, build that story
and then maybe a year later, ifwe find that people are loving
one of the fragrances, werelease that as a you know,
something permanent for the restof the people to experience.
But I love that idea.

(33:02):
I'm enjoying creating that.
We as a team, you know, we'rereally enjoying creating this
and putting it together and I'msure people will also enjoy it.
Getting to know the story, getting to know the hero, how
things pan out.
I think it'll be an interestingthing.
We're trying I mean, we don'tknow yet if it'll work.

Myke (33:23):
Look, that's one thing.
When you guys did the caviar, yeah, I was like this is such a
neat way to do it, like I justfeel like you guys are, you're
going wild over there, you're,you're trying things.
So that's what it's about.
Like you said, like thisimmersive nature.
You have people like us and Ieven consider us still to kind

(33:46):
of be on the fringes of things, you know but there are people
that are like just dying forthis immersive experience of
fragrances, more than justsmelling decent, you know, at a
barbecue or something likepeople want to.
They want the story and theycrave it.
They look at it as art and theylook at it as an experience and
they want that type of thing.
I love you guys are doing that.

(34:08):
I think this is important forthe space to push the art form
forward and make it less of justlike a, a product on a shelf.

Moe (34:16):
Yeah, hopefully we'll have something soon.
We're working very hard to tomake it happen and as soon as we
do, I'm I'll be glad to shareit with you guys and and maybe
again have something for thePatreons.
And if you're not a Patreon, you know what you have to do.

Myke (34:34):
Mo always look it up for us.
I love this guy.
You're the best Mo.

Ryan (34:43):
One day, mo, he'll sedate me with some horse tranquilizers
and I'll be able to make itover to Italy or something.
But seriously, thank you somuch for again coming on the
show.
Thank you for caring so muchabout this podcast.
I don't know if a lot of peopleknow it in the lore of this
podcast, but Mo has seriouslybeen with this podcast from the
beginning.

Myke (35:02):
Absolutely, the very beginning was buying us coffees
back when we, you know, buy me acoffee.
You're a part of our Patreongroup You've, you know, you've
opened up the door three yearsin a row for me.
Possibly Ryan, if he'd ever gethis stuff together to
experience Italy you know I'vesaid it multiple times, but it
really in the course of thispodcast, that alone I will never

(35:26):
forget that.
I'll never forget thegenerosity of you guys opening
the door for me.
For that.
It expanded who I was as aperson.
It was a life-changing thingand I very much mean that.
That's not like exaggeration.
It made me better as a humanand I want people to experience
that sort of a thing, Like yousaid, getting out in a new

(35:47):
country and experiencing it,walking around, to be in tune
with all these different typesof people, these different

(36:08):
cultures, these experiences inthe world.
Because you guys take that andyou bottle that up and then you
give that out to people as anexperience and you kind of have
to have that.
You can't be stuck like Ryan.
He's only going to experienceEast Texas for the rest of his
life.
You got to get out there.
You, you open the door for thatand, like I said, I'm forever

(36:28):
changed, I'm forever grateful.

Moe (36:30):
Yeah, thank you.
Thank you, it means a lot.
It's really an honor to havemet you and, you know, hopefully
we'll meet Ryan too, and we'reglad to have this and what
you're doing in our livesbecause it also brings joy and
happiness to not only me, butI'm sure a lot of people around
that listen to your podcast andyou know it's interesting, it's

(36:53):
nice, and keep doing what you'redoing because it's amazing too.
So thank you so much.

Ryan (36:58):
We appreciate that, mo, and until next time.
Come on, mo, spray it up y'all.
