Ryan (00:03):
hello everybody, welcome
to the clone podcast I'm mike,
I'm ryan.
Myke (00:07):
We're two best friends.
We're going on a fragrancejourney.
Typically we're alone in thestudio, but today we have a very
special friend with us carson.
Hey guys, how are y'all doing?
Ryan (00:19):
your situation is kind of
unique because you're a listener
, a friend, friend in real lifefamily A Patreon.
Myke (00:27):
Yeah, a Patreon, a little
bit of everything Y'all wrangled
me in.
Yeah, yeah, we're actually justusing him for this big juicy
bottle he brought today.
Yeah.
Ryan (00:37):
Yeah, tell us a little bit
.
Karson (00:38):
What made you get this?
Well, there's a funny storywith this one.
So whenever I learned thaty'all were on the podcast, it's
like ooh, you know I need todive into this new world of
colognes and perfumes, and so Ijust started doing research.
Y'all kind of guided me alongthe way.
This one just kept popping up,popping up, popping up and like
(00:59):
in the top three you know, fragrances that you know men
should wear, three fragrancesthat men should wear and so I
started.
I just dabbled with it with someof the 5ml testers and sprayed
it.
I'll be straight up and honestI did not like it at first but
my wife loved it.
My wife just loved it.
(01:19):
Then I started was talking withMike and stuff about layering.
I found you can use this tolayer with Creed Aventus.
I did it with Insidious, Dan'sInsidious and that was where I
started liking it.
Okay, A little bit, but now Ilove it.
It's probably my go-to scent,Really, yeah.
Myke (01:38):
It's amazing how those
wives can kind of get in your
mind.
Maybe I do like this.
Karson (01:44):
It could have been a
mental game.
She was playing on me.
Myke (01:47):
She played the long game
on you.
Well, I have a review fromsomeone who's not like your wife
Perfume Noob didn't like it andhe says smells like Johnson
Johnson.
No More Tears shampoo from the90s with a little spice.
Oh spice, okay A spicy.
(02:08):
No More Tears Shampoo.
Interesting.
Karson (02:11):
That is interesting.
I can definitely see thatshampoo.
It can come out powdery soapyoh okay, yeah, I can see that
and that's what you were kind ofsaying off air before we got on
here Because, you know, if youknow that Avent, uh, even that
mont blanc explorer, yeah, thosewere in my wheelhouse, so this
was completely outside of it, ohyeah.
Myke (02:29):
Yeah, that's true, because
a little background we kind of
got you started with.
Moustache was the first thing, yes, and then from there, I
think I gave you a bottle ofmont blanc explorer yeah, you
sure did, loved it.
Karson (02:43):
Still still have it.
I've actually bottle.
My son has now taken over, yeah, and I had to buy another
bigger bottle.
Myke (02:50):
So yeah, thanks, mike,
there we go, billed in the mail,
but yeah, so you kind ofstarted off heading in the
direction of what we kind oflike.
Well, I'd say more me than you, ryan.
Karson (03:11):
But that in the
direction of what we kind of
like.
Well, I'd say more me than you, ryan, but that's sort of
citrusy, clean, like masculine, but also non-offensive, easy to
wear.
You know, with listening forthe past couple years on the
podcast, I do know I probablylean more your way.
Okay, there's still severalwith ryan that he's given me.
Myke (03:17):
That's just man just icing
great and uh, but he's, he's
like that every once in a whilehe'll hit it but and so I'm in
an office setting you know 12hours a day.
Karson (03:29):
I can't blow them up
right, so I need something
that's gonna, but I also likesomething's gonna last.
Yeah, that's where that eventuswas really starting to just
really make me a little upset.
I was like I'm spending allthis money and you can't last
but four hours.
Come on.
Yeah, you know, by the time theday's getting going, you're
gone.
Myke (03:47):
Oh you know yeah,
especially early on, when you
were paying retail and I waslike show me and, you know,
guide me in where we need topurchase these things at which
again on air.
I'll say we would neverrecommend somebody go to a gray
market.
Yeah, you know.
Karson (04:06):
No, would never
recommend that no, but if you
kind of end up there, yeah, hey, that's your own, on your own
accord.
Myke (04:13):
That's right.
Yeah look, we don't judge wellhold on.
Ryan (04:16):
I've got to interrupt this
.
This party here for a second.
Is it really so bad to buy graymarket?
I think it depends on who youask.
Yeah, well, I mean, let me justthrow this out there well let
me ask and I know that we're notthe know-all on this but where
does the gray market get theirstuff from?
Myke (04:32):
so this is my
understanding of it.
Could be I could be completelywrong here, but I'm going to try
to break it down as good as Ipossibly can.
So somebody like, let's say,versace, okay, has a buy-in
minimum that you have to meet.
Let's pretend I'm just makingthis arbitrary numbers I'm just
throwing out here.
But let's pretend it's ahundred bottles and a smaller
(04:56):
store will go.
There's no way I can move ahundred bottles, but you have to
buy it at that allotment to getthe certain price to even be
welcomed into the party.
So what they'll do is they'llbuy the $100,000, but then
they'll go.
I can only move $30,000.
So then they'll sell $70,000 toa gray market place.
Ryan (05:16):
Okay, that's what I
figured, and if that is correct,
then didn't the company maketheir money?
Myke (05:22):
Yeah, they did it feels
fair, then Well, the argument
for it and the reason why Chanelis so hard on it and I think
Dior is similar as well isbecause it lowers the perceived
value of the product.
Gotcha, by doing it that way, gotcha, now again, no judgment
(05:44):
for anybody who does that.
We've heard both sides of theaisle.
If you're in a certain monetarypredicament, that may seem more
you know, an easier way to go.
Ryan (05:53):
Are you saying that I'm in
a predicament, Mike?
I'm saying An everlastingpredicament.
Myke (05:57):
I'm saying a lot of us are
in predicaments.
Karson (05:59):
I am Now this one that
we're going to talk about today.
I could not find this on thegray market.
I'm going to tell you I lookedagain.
Ryan (06:10):
We may pony up, we may or
may not have equally been guilty
of looking on gray market fromtime to time well, before we get
into today's fragrance, we needto give a one night stand
review, which we just let carsonsmell a minute ago before we
got on air here, and that'szirjoff's.
Louis the 15th 1722 hit themusic, todd.
(06:32):
Yeah, one night stand review.
Well, mike, after laying in bedwith lou XV and all of his
maidens, what do you have?
To say about 1722?
.
Myke (06:48):
Yeah, it's fantastic.
It's fantastically above my paygrade, but it's wonderful.
If we've ever made friends withanybody in Sergeoff and they
are willing to send a bottle out, I would gladly accept.
Ryan (07:02):
Yeah, I'm on the same page
.
It is really really good.
Shockingly good.
Karson (07:08):
Carson.
What did you think of it?
Oh, instantly loved it.
Yeah, that'll be one that I'llreach out and get me some of
that you know he's going to hangZerge off other ankles, I'm
going to get some of that.
When I walked in and y'all werelike you got to smell this and
that was right up my alley.
Ryan (07:22):
a little bit smoother, I
like that well, I don't know if
you can give like a take on this, but just off of that, is it
more of a sample or do you feellike it could be a straight to a
buy for you?
Karson (07:33):
oh, well, I mean
definitely a sample, but with my
kind of personality it wouldprobably go to a buy.
Myke (07:39):
I'd probably find a way to
get that one, just to have yeah
, that was kind of me and likeyou were kind of saying you and
I kind of aligned and so it wasone of those.
As we smelled it throughout theepisode, I kept going this may
be my favorite zirjoff I've eversmelled and they make some
pretty good fragrances, but thatone it is kind of a cut above.
(07:59):
So it is extremely tempting, but I have, if it's above 300,
it's never going to buy it.
That's your financialpredicament.
Yeah, that's the financialpredicament I was talking about?
Ryan (08:12):
I'm in the same one.
Myke (08:14):
Unless I accidentally, you
know, I clicked the wrong link
and ended up on some gray marketwebsite that I definitely would
not recommend anybody do.
But if I accidentally foundmyself there, didn't know that I
was buying it from such an evilentity, yes, they can be tricky
, those online places.
Karson (08:31):
You know, you think
you're in a real place.
Yeah, that's true, yeah.
Myke (08:34):
I thought I was just on
Neiman's website, but Especially
with this shop pay you justclick it and boom, it's done.
Exactly.
Yeah, yeah, google Pay isexactly.
Yeah, yeah, google pay is likeboom all right.
Ryan (08:45):
Well, there you go.
That's our one night standreview of zirjoff's louis, the
15th 1722.
Karson (08:51):
Now hold on, hold on
what.
What do you feel?
Ryan (08:54):
I mean for me it's a hard
sample.
Yeah, I mean I liked it, but Ido think it's more of your vibe.
Myke (09:00):
It was really yeah ryan
had said and you probably still
stick to this that if he buys azirj off, yes, he wants to buy
the yacht he was talking about.
Yes, very woodsy.
Very like if tom ford oud woodwent to college and then got his
doctorate and had some wife, had a wife and kids, yeah, and
(09:22):
then locked himself in like ayou know a study made of rich
mahogany, then that's what itwould smell like oh no, you got
me interested on that one too.
Karson (09:31):
You got to smell it we.
Ryan (09:32):
He brought it.
Was it your first or secondfirst year?
His first year?
Wow, it's been that long sinceI've smelled.
It still is in my head.
Oh, wow, he brought it and itwas just like a little old
packet of it that he got alittle sample from zurzoff where
I was over there in italy andwe did an episode on it.
And then when I got to tylerover there near your place over
there and man, I called him likein a frantic cause like this,
(09:53):
dry down is insane, dude, it'sone of the best dry downs I've
ever he called me, he calledother family members, he's gone.
Myke (09:58):
Everybody really yeah for
real.
Karson (10:00):
yeah, oh, it's good, I'm
gonna have to try this one now.
I'm going to find a littlething of it.
You got to try it.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Okay, well, there's ourmultifaceted review of a bunch
of different Zerjals there.
Ryan (10:11):
But let's get into today's
fragrance.
We've been hyped to smell it,and that is Louis Vuitton's
Imagination.
Karson (10:25):
Oh boy, and this is the
full presentation of it.
That's the full presentation.
Like I said, they'll evenengrave your initials.
That's free man.
Myke (10:30):
In that bottle, and they
sure did Look at that.
Ryan (10:32):
By the way.
So is this pop.
Myke (10:33):
Okay, sure enough,
Magnetic top man.
That's hefty.
Feel that you wouldn't think sobecause it's kind of flat.
Yeah yeah, it's got some weightto it.
I like this.
Okay, let's see the atomizerhere.
Very nice.
Ryan (10:48):
It's Carson's.
Yeah, use it up.
Karson (10:54):
I'll get the full effect
.
Myke (10:55):
There we go.
Karson (10:57):
Wow, yeah.
So what do you think?
Myke (11:00):
Oh, did you get a tester
over there?
I should have one right thereDid it fall.
Ryan (11:05):
There was one, I saw it.
It might be in my back pocket.
Mike's making an emergency runreal quick for a tester, just so
you can see if there's adifference.
For you, he's got you a freshone.
Hmm, this isn't what I thoughtit was going to smell like, but
I'm here to tell you.
What do you think?
I'm really liking out the gatefor real.
Karson (11:27):
Oh, you know one thing
you can really smell the citrus.
Yeah, on this tester strip yeahthe on the skin.
Myke (11:32):
There is a peppery kind of
spiciness to it.
Ryan (11:36):
That shocked me, just like
the subtle bite, you know, in
our getting ready for thisepisode.
I don't think either one of uslooked at the notes of this, but
does it seem like it's goingaquatic, which is fine for me?
Myke (11:48):
I don't think it had
aquatic in it.
I did look at the notes.
I don't think it does.
The thing that was notable forme was I think it has ginger in
it Nigerian ginger, okay, andcinnamon as well.
This smells really good.
Karson (12:01):
It's a good clean smell
Very clean.
Yeah, but with a littleattitude.
It's got a little bit ofattitude in there.
Myke (12:08):
Yeah, this is a take on
kind of what we like, which is
the clean citrus, but this isvery clean, smelling Carson's,
hearing the howling windsoutside.
Karson (12:33):
Wow, carson's hearing
the uh howling winds outside.
Wow, this is genuinely reallygood.
This is shocking.
It's good it is.
It's a.
I would have never thought sofor the listeners.
You know I'm a.
I'm here with boots and jeansout on a ranch.
You know mike's gonna come outand that's right, castrate with
me one day.
So I would never think thatsomebody like me would be
ordering.
Myke (12:46):
Louis Vuitton.
Yeah, I kept saying on theepisode.
I was like you know, carson, you got to make me a man out
there.
Karson (12:57):
Yeah, we'll do it.
Myke (12:59):
Yeah, because you're in a
lot of things.
You've got that.
You have your day job whereyou're flooring all the houses
in America, basically.
Yep, we do that, which is stillkind of manly too.
Oh yeah, you're handlingflooring, then you're out there.
You've got a ranch out there,yeah.
Karson (13:17):
You would never picture
me as a Louis Vuitton guy.
No, it's true.
The first time I put it on Iwas like, oh, because on my skin
I can pull that a little soapysmell coming off.
But then my wife was just likewhoa, what did you just put?
Ryan (13:30):
on.
This is sharp.
I mean y'all probably won'tmake the correlation for it.
It doesn't have the intenseawkwardness of it or really the
I guess kind of peppery typevibe that it usually does.
This is when I say aqua, I'mgonna be like I swear to god,
dude I swear to god.
No, it's not even close, dude.
It's not that it smells likeawkward, it's like it's like the
(13:52):
big brother to it, like the edtor something like that.
To me, this is way smoother, way smoother.
The citrus is nice, but alittle.
Myke (14:02):
So the thing that I kind
of notice about this one that
surprises me is there's not asweetness to the citrus.
There's no sweetness.
Karson (14:11):
Yeah, use it up, man.
Myke (14:15):
It's very clean and then
that's a refillable bottle.
That's what you were saying Ihave no idea.
Ryan (14:22):
Sorry, I had to go ham.
Myke (14:23):
I came here naked as well.
No fragrance on.
Karson (14:26):
I knew I couldn't wear
it and let y'all smell it
beforehand.
Myke (14:30):
Oh, one of the Patreons
asked you're spraying Routine or
ritual?
Yeah, Did you?
Ryan (14:36):
answer that I can't
remember.
I know somebody said like 10.
I think I remember.
Do you want me to pull it up?
Yeah, go ahead.
Myke (14:46):
Go ahead, Wyatt.
My answer was I do four sprays.
I do basically on each shoulderand then on each bicep here.
Karson (14:52):
I've never done the
bicep.
I'll normally do my wrist.
Oh, okay, and then behind theneck and on the front part of
the neck I'm doing maximum hug.
Myke (15:00):
fragrance.
Ryan (15:01):
So it's like if you give
somebody a hug.
Myke (15:03):
You know they're going to
smell between your shoulder and
your bicep.
You know all that.
That's like in my mentality I'mgoing like that's where you
leave the lasting impression.
Yeah.
Karson (15:13):
Well, I definitely like
the spray down on the backside.
Yeah, because, you know, on anote with this, one of my
employees told me they knew Iwas in the building and they
could almost track me down, andit's not allowed.
Louise told me they knew I wasin the building and they could
almost track me down, and it'snot allowed.
It's not going to be a loudscent, right, it's going to be a
very, very smooth, floating,pleasant.
All the ladies in my officelove it.
(15:34):
All the guys love it.
Ryan (15:37):
Everybody loves it.
I mean, it is definitely and Idon't mean this as a diss it is
done so well and smooth thatit's definitely office friendly.
Yes, office friendly.
Myke (15:47):
Yeah, for sure, this makes
total sense.
First of all, I've neversmelled a Louis Vuitton
fragrance, ever.
This is our first one.
Yeah, no, you're lying.
You smelled Afternoon Swim orsomething like that.
Ryan (15:57):
Oh, from Fat Boy Fragrance
.
Yeah, yeah, that's right.
My bad, sorry.
I was nice enough to smell thefragrance that he sent us.
Yeah, we were supposed to do anepisode on it.
Myke (16:04):
You just happened to smell
it way before.
Oh my bad.
Ryan (16:07):
Yeah, ryan used to be and
he still does it.
Myke (16:10):
He gets in the habit of,
just like I, just smell
everything today.
Karson (16:13):
Oh, that would be me.
Let's open it up and get intoit.
Myke (16:17):
It's just, you know, I
want that initial reaction from
that.
Karson (16:22):
That's right.
Myke (16:22):
Look, I'm not saying it's
an easy thing to wait, I'm just
saying it's the right thing todo.
Ryan (16:28):
Okay, it was actually doug
lane, by the way.
Okay, yeah, he had said um,because he was wearing red
tobacco.
I think that's right.
So what's everybody he's?
What's everyone's spray routine?
I know some of it's just onespray per wrist and they are
good to go.
That's not me laughing emoji.
I'm typically 10 to 15 sprayswrist, neck and then down my
chest.
Today I'm wearing red tobacco.
He did like two or three, or hesaid six sprays and I said that
(16:51):
was five too many of redtobacco me, I'll legit.
You just saw, I'll do like twoon each.
Whatever this area is, yeah, your joint hair, your elbow,
ditch, I'll do that my claviclestwo or three times back, back
of my neck, then my shirt andclothes, so it's probably around
10 to 15 sprays.
Goodness gracious.
On everything Easy 10, 15sprays, because I want people to
(17:12):
be turned off by me.
Myke (17:13):
Yeah, yeah, who wants to
be overrun?
No one running in the room.
Karson (17:17):
Yeah, yeah.
Myke (17:18):
Ugh, too much of a good
thing can be a bad thing yeah.
Ryan (17:23):
Well, this smells really
good.
I don't know how you couldoverdo this, because it's really
smooth and I was going to sayit's like two to three feet
projection.
It's a nice safe projection,you know.
Karson (17:32):
Yeah, you can, and it'll
also fill up a room.
So, like in my office, they'llwalk in, they can.
Just, you know, they'll knowright away than other ones.
No, no for me.
But but again, I'm just anovice at this.
So I spray these exactly.
I'm a out of five spray.
Okay, guy, maybe I'll get tosix, that's like.
(17:54):
Unless it's red tobacco, that'stwo max.
Myke (17:56):
Yeah, for sure yeah,
someday you'll get like ryan
you'll be spraying 30 30, justyeah, you don't even need a
sprayer at that time.
Karson (18:04):
Just kind of douse it a
little bit.
Myke (18:06):
Did I tell you the Crystal
Saffron story?
No, so Ryan gets to the studiobefore me and I forget where
we're headed.
There's no job.
Yeah, but he sprayed CrystalSaffron and I came in and I was
like, oh my god, I'm like can'tbreathe in here.
I like instantly startedgetting a headache.
(18:26):
I go did you spray crystalsapphire?
I said yeah, put it on.
I only did like three or foursprays.
I was like huge lie, yeah, massive lie.
I'm like no way, no, absolutelyno way.
Then I got a ride in the carwith him.
I'm having to like roll thewindow down and I'm like dude.
Finally he was like okay, itwas way more than that it was a
(18:47):
lot.
Ryan (18:47):
I was like why I seriously
did like 15 plus on it I went
nuts.
Oh wow, that's insane hey youlike to smell yourself?
Myke (18:56):
I do, and uh stop
everybody else just spray the
back of your hand so you canever, when you want're on a
smile, just go.
Okay, yeah, there we go.
I mean, good Lord, he was legit.
Not even he's not hammered uphere.
He was legit choking out.
Ryan (19:12):
And I was way back in that
room.
Oh, wow, and he came throughthe front door, which you saw
right here, and he's just likewhat?
Myke (19:18):
the hell?
It's way too loud.
Yeah, he blasted.
There's no reason for that.
Ryan (19:23):
Well, guys, let me hit you
with the price and trend and
let you know if it's reasonableor not.
Okay, okay, sorry.
Price and popularity.
Price 330 buckaroonies.
Woo, that is steep, that issteep.
Karson (19:49):
And I too cannot see
where you can get anywhere else.
Yeah, they're pretty.
They got that one under lockand key.
Ryan (19:51):
It is under lock and key
for sure, the popularity for
this thing is really good 4.56out of 5 with almost 6 000 votes
.
Wow, wow, that's, that's verygood, that's massive.
And I'll say, because this cameout in 2021 almost 6,000 votes.
Wow, wow, that's very good, that's massive.
And I'll say, because this cameout in 2021, almost 6,000 votes
is quite a lot of votes forthat time frame, for a short
(20:12):
amount of time.
Myke (20:13):
Yeah, which makes sense
because, like you were saying, I
see this everywhere.
I hear people talking about itall the time.
I've heard people talking aboutlayering it.
Like you, I get it.
It smells great.
It also doesn't smell like Ican't go.
Oh, this smells like boss, bottled whatever or gucci guilty
this, or it does kind of haveits own personality too.
(20:34):
It's kind of hard to do in afragrance like this, because
it's just a citrusy clean it isa citrusy clean designer let me
run something by you, carson.
Ryan (20:44):
Since you've had the most
wearing out of this, you've
gotten the most compliments.
The guys, the gals, they alllove you at work.
I'm going to read you kind ofusually we do like pros and cons
.
I'm just going to read the pros.
Okay, you confirm or deny theseallegations?
I sure will.
Okay, so three of them here.
Okay, great longevity and seaodds, which is the trail on it.
Karson (21:04):
A hundred percent.
Okay, that's one of the mainkickers for me.
It will last a 12 hour day,really.
Myke (21:09):
Yeah, good Lord.
Okay, and just to speak on thesea odds too, I bet that's how
people were smelling you, because we've seen you at work.
You're all over the place.
Karson (21:17):
I'm moving.
Myke (21:28):
We can't like Ooh, get
over there, he's not there, he's
over here now.
He's answering a question overhere.
Ryan (21:31):
Now he's back by the
computers so you're moving.
So, yeah, the siage is greatyeah, fresh and inviting scent
100 okay the girls you know, oreven the guys, any of them.
Karson (21:42):
They'll come in and walk
in like, ooh, this smells nice,
okay, yeah, now here's the lastone.
Ryan (21:48):
This is the one.
I kind of changed up the orderhere because I wanted to make
this last.
I think this is an interestingpro here, creates a positive
mood.
Myke (21:57):
Oh, do you feel like this?
Karson (21:58):
boosts your mood at all,
Maybe sometimes.
I wish it would boost it more.
I wish it would boost it moreOn that part.
I think it just lets you.
Everybody wants to be clean andfresh.
You don't want to stink.
Ryan (22:14):
That's why we're doing all
this.
Karson (22:16):
That's why y'all are
doing a podcast for everybody.
That's true.
So I think inherently it'sgoing to make you feel better.
Ryan (22:21):
but I wouldn't say Let me
put that on because I'm in a bad
mood.
Oh man, almost a thousandpeople said agree.
That creates a positive mood, that's an interesting.
I can be kind of dumb, so maybeit does and I just haven't
caught on yet or you're justtypically in a good mood, maybe,
so I don't know let me alsogive you I'm sorry that I'm kind
(22:42):
of giving off facts here, butthis is something that kind of
resonates with Carson as well, because we talked about we all
three have talked about thisother fragrance and stuff, but
the perfumer for this I thinkyou might have mentioned this
before the perfumer for thisactually perfumed, issey Miyake,
that we like so much.
Karson (23:00):
Oh no, I did not know
that.
Yes, oh, that's interesting.
Ryan (23:11):
For all y'all that don't
know.
Myke (23:12):
Is he miyaki?
That's a.
That's another fantastic, it isgreat.
Um, who?
How do you pronounce that?
Like jack jackass, not jackass, jac, it's got to be.
Yeah, I don't even know.
Ryan (23:17):
Jacuzzi cavalier beltrude,
something like that it's like,
it's like Cavier.
Karson (23:26):
This is our East Texas.
Myke (23:29):
Look, I'm taking Italian,
not French.
Ryan (23:34):
By the way, if we ever do
our own fragrance, I want a
picture like his.
Myke (23:37):
Oh yeah, I've seen this
picture before.
Karson (23:41):
I can see you, ryan, you
got that pose.
You can pull that off.
Myke (23:43):
And that body style hey,
don't be, can see you, ryan, you
got that.
You got that pose, you can pullthat off.
And that body style hey, don'tbe shaming this poor man.
Ryan (23:49):
He's made a freaking
incredible fragrance.
That's right.
Karson (23:53):
No, that's very
interesting.
Myke (23:54):
I would have never thought
that oh now that you say it,
though, I do smell similarities.
Ryan (24:12):
Well, let me hit you with
a couple that he's made, whether
y'all smelled these or not, butthese are kind of uh listed by
most popular.
His most popular one is simiaki, okay, okay.
Another one, tom ford's noir denoir.
Oh really, yeah, he made that,he made imagination.
He also made a couple of masonmargiela fragrances oh lord,
poor guy, I know.
And uh, bagari, you, you knowthat one ocean one that you
probably didn't like, the Aquaone, I think so, and he did the
Intense at Semi-Archive that Ilet you smell just a second ago.
(24:33):
So pretty good run of fragrances.
I would say so on the.
Karson (24:38):
Issey Miyake, did he do
the Leud de Sey Port-au-Homme?
Ryan (24:42):
That's the one, yeah.
Karson (24:45):
That's the one, yeah,
that's the one straight up, and
that's crazy.
I would have never.
I mean, I can definitely see itnow.
Yeah, it's probably what mywife loves that one too, that
one one time I came home and shesprayed that one on the pillows
so I can.
So I can see why.
Uh, you know she definitelyloved that one, but that's where
I'll say so then the hiddenjewel with that is with
imagination is when you layer it.
Ryan (25:03):
Okay, okay, oh, you can
layer that thing and you kind of
alluded to earlier, is theAventus layer with this your
favorite, or is there somethingdifferent to layer it with?
Karson (25:11):
So I would rather do the
Insidious just for the
longevity.
The Aventus will getoverpowered.
So if you were to layer thiswith Aventus, because this one
is so strong, you better do fouror five sprays of Aventus with
one of these.
Oh yeah, that makes sense.
Don't 50-50 it, or you won'teven get.
Ryan (25:29):
Aventus.
That is a really good fragrance.
Myke (25:31):
Yeah, I actually layer
Insidious.
Well, now I'm out.
Ryan (25:35):
So I'm back to using
Aventus.
Myke (25:39):
So I feel a little
saddened about that, but I layer
it with Straight to Heaven.
We went to a coffee shop oneday, and here's how well that
fragrance works.
The lady smelled both of us.
She didn't like rinds.
I forget what were you wearing.
Ryan (25:55):
I was wearing Guerlain
Vetiver.
Oh, okay, yeah, she was likeyou smell like an old lady, old
lady is what she said for him,but for me she said she really
liked it.
Myke (26:04):
But she said I'd be
curious if you would layer it
the opposite way, because allshe was getting was the
Insidious.
Ryan (26:13):
And I was like huh, I mean
, I do think that that's got to
matter to some degree.
Karson (26:17):
which one's on top, I
would say yeah, and I've done
that before, I've switched them, but the Insidious works much
better.
But this one will overpower.
It will eventually take overgotcha because of the longevity.
So this is one.
Yes, it's going to be expensive, which y'all know me and all of
you out there in the podcastworld.
I actually did not spend mymoney on this.
I save up credit card pointsthere.
(26:40):
You go and and turn them in forthis, which is great, yeah.
So just a word of the wise ifyou have any points, hey, they
make a great trade in for yourclone you want.
Ryan (26:51):
Great save so your wife
doesn't kill you.
That's right.
I come in and say, hey, I gotsomething in the mail that I put
my points in.
Myke (26:57):
I promise you, I didn't
spend anything but the taxes on
it $330?
Yeah, that's right, that'sright.
The taxes will get billed.
Oh man, I used to just get theway my points worked.
I barely could find anything touse on them, but they would
send you like a Visa gift card.
Oh yeah, so I would just dothat.
Oh yeah, that would work greattoo, but that thing's maxed out
(27:20):
now, so I'm not earning any morepoints currently.
Ryan (27:24):
Uh that's just financial
prediction yeah yeah, we're all
in it.
Karson (27:28):
So another.
Myke (27:29):
Back to these gray market
websites, gray market websites.
Karson (27:32):
Sadly, you will not find
this one.
Ryan (27:34):
Yeah, that's a shame this
is really nice well, briefly,
you said you wouldn't imagine aguy like you wearing it, because
you're over here, you'recastrating cows and yeah yeah
look, I might.
Karson (27:45):
I might even have some
cow manure on my boots right now
um right at home here in thestudio.
Myke (27:50):
I know right at home here
in east texas.
Yeah, it's from the pasturehere.
Ryan (27:53):
It's pretty deep in here,
so yeah so you see that just
this, this could be for anybodybut who do you think, if you
just think outside of your world, they're like who do you think
this is really tailored for inyour imagination here?
Karson (28:06):
and I could be wrong,
because I'm still a novice at
this, but and this by no meansreally fits me but uh, an
established older gentleman notsaying, you know, I'm still
young of course don't let thisgray for you.
Myke (28:18):
I think you're younger
than ryan.
Actually I think I am by what?
One or two years maybe.
Karson (28:22):
I think so yeah um, and
so I would say somebody that's
in the business world.
I think you could even pullthis off cocktail hour, date
night would be wonderful.
Myke (28:33):
I could see it Really
almost anywhere.
It's pretty versatile.
Karson (28:36):
It's very versatile but
definitely more mature.
You need to be a maturegentleman, I agree.
Myke (28:42):
I feel like it would need,
if you wanted to go younger,
you'd need a little bit moresweetness to it.
I feel like this is great.
It kind of shocked me because Ithought we were going to get a
little bit more sweetness.
I honestly thought it was goingto be more generic than how it
smells, but it does smell reallygood.
So I think, for a fragrancelike this, you're right in that,
as you get older, this is justa clean, sharp fragrance.
(29:05):
It has enough personality.
I'm shocked.
I really am.
I'm shocked at how different itsmells.
Yeah, and now I get the hypebehind it, but I was leery going
in.
Karson (29:15):
Oh trust me Because I
was leery going in, yeah, and I
did not even like it, but I justkept.
The layering part is what kindof triggered me.
And then one day it just, Idon't know, it grew on me and
now it's like I love this stuff.
So is this like your second orthird bottle?
No, this is my first bottle.
Ryan (29:31):
Still your first bottle?
Karson (29:31):
Yeah, I went from the
testers.
The 5 mil, 10 mil testers Wentthrough that pretty quickly.
And then, of all things, I havea gentleman that works for me
and he's a manly man and thatmight have been the one that
kind of pushed that snowball offthe edge because I walked in.
He's very much at Aventus, theMontblanc Explorer type we're
(29:53):
very similar in those fields andhe comes in and he goes.
I don't know what you'rewearing, but I love it.
I need to know what that is.
Yeah.
Myke (30:02):
So you got it from both
sides of the aisle, you got the
ladies from the office sayingyou better wear that car.
That's right.
Karson (30:07):
I don't know what they
said, but it smells good.
Myke (30:10):
You said at one point you
said there was a lady that was
upset that you didn't wear itone day.
Yes, that's 100% right.
Karson (30:17):
I'm glad you brought
that up.
One of my office ladies shecomes in, she goes.
This is not imagination.
I said, no, I'm tryingsomething a little different.
Myke (30:31):
I think I had green irish
tweet on okay, yeah, and she
just did not like that.
Karson (30:33):
She was kind of upset,
oh wow.
So those everybody talking toyou and I'll tell you this I
have not seen too many dupes forthis.
I know they're going to be outthere, but you know, a lot of
times you can find dupes prettyquickly right, I've not been
able, but I haven't also lookedbecause I haven't wanted to.
Myke (30:45):
Yeah, I'm kind of on the
fence with some of the clones
and stuff like that.
It's few and far between that.
You find just a great one yeah.
Karson (30:54):
If you like what it is,
just stick with that one.
Myke (30:56):
If you do find a good one,
like we're saying with
Insidious, you're pay some moneyto get it.
You know, to get a really goodone.
If I spend the money again Iwould not buy another bottle of
Aventus, I would just buyInsidious.
So you find something that isreally high quality, then you
know there's ways to enjoy it.
There is A hundred percent.
Yeah, I think you got this.
There's no reason to reallydupe it.
(31:18):
Yeah, I don't of it.
You know you'd lose.
Yeah, there's always a littlebehind it, something behind
there.
it's like it's like drinking,like diet soda there's always
like a little like yeah, there'sa little twinge on it where
you're like it was almost good,or that sugar-free.
Where they pull it out, you'relike, oh no, oh yeah, yeah, have
(31:38):
you seen the new thing they'redoing with?
Like the kardashian who uhlinked up with crumble cookie
and she made like a flour freecookie or something?
No, the big thing is people aredoing like reaction reviews of
it and everyone's taking bitesand just like going like like
this terrible, that would not begood yeah it's like I don't
(31:59):
know.
It's like some little browniebowl type thing.
The best is when they give itto kids who they're expecting
like some sort of brownie, andthen they eat it and it's just
like oh my why that's sometimeswith clones, you spray and
you're like, oh no yeah, that'snot what I was expecting.
Karson (32:15):
I don't even see how
they go there.
Myke (32:17):
That's unfortunately some
of the eventus clones we've.
We've dug through quite a fewto to try to find I was on.
I've been on that journey, thatthe screechiness up top, the
majority of them, you're justlike no.
Karson (32:30):
And that yellow brick
road didn't end in the inner
city.
Ryan (32:34):
Are you going to skip it,
sample it or buy it?
What are you going to do,carson?
Karson (32:41):
Well, y'all know what I
did.
I bought it.
You know when I made thatdecision.
It's how fast can I get it here?
Ryan (32:47):
And I'm going to tell you
a story on that.
Karson (32:48):
You know, ups because of
the price, they have the
discretion to have a signature.
It took me an extra four daysto get this thing because UPS
guy wouldn't leave it at thedoor.
I had to leave it because I'mgone all day and for all of
y'all out there.
My driveway is a quarter mile,so we leave the gate open.
He's got to drive to the house.
It's not like it's in aneighborhood, right, and I had
(33:09):
to leave him a note on the doorthat says please leave my box on
the porch.
Yeah, because I needed it.
I needed it.
Myke (33:16):
Yeah, oh, we feel that
yeah, we feel that we need it,
sort of a thing yeah.
Because my tester had run out.
Oh, I couldn't wait to get thisin time.
Yeah, that is funny.
Yeah, because it's not likewho's gonna who's gonna take
your box if you're that far upmy drive.
Karson (33:32):
You're there for a
reason yeah, but uh, no,
definitely buy for me now.
It took me a while, yeah, yeah,it took me months to get to
there months would you, if,let's say, you drain this bottle
, are you buying another one?
I'll always have a bottle onhand.
Myke (33:46):
Really.
Or figure out how to get itrefilled.
Yeah, oh, yeah, yeah, and thoserefillers tend to be on the
cheaper side.
Karson (33:51):
Yeah, they're on the
cheaper side.
Myke (33:52):
We've done that a couple
times.
Found some good deals, oh yeah.
Ryan (33:57):
For me it's a very, very
strong sample.
I want to wear it some more.
I want to see if I get kind oflike the compliments or at least
somebody noticing it.
I mean I love the vibe that'sputting down.
But yeah, if after a couplemore wearing something like this
I could see myself buyingbecause I got again, you don't
have to agree, but it's like aan older version for me with
(34:17):
like less of the pepper of theaqua digio kind of line.
It's very well done.
Yeah, I don't see that at all.
I good.
Myke (34:24):
I'm curious if we have.
Do we have some straight toheaven here?
Because I'd be curious to lethim try to layer it with
straight to heaven we do?
Ryan (34:31):
I don't know if we have it
in a spray thing, but we have
it in the refill bottle.
Do we have any decant things toput it in by chance?
Myke (34:40):
There's got to be one
around here, okay, so you need
to try that I've heard goodthings about straight.
Oh man.
Ryan (34:46):
Yeah, it's nice.
It's like a whiskey barrel kindof thing.
It's great man.
Myke (34:51):
For me it's a strong
sample.
The price is the only stickypart for me because it's above
that $300 threshold for me.
So I'm like only 10% salesman'scoming out of cars and over
here look, it comes in a realnice louis vuitton box you know
your girls would love it to puttheir jewelry in.
(35:12):
You don't want to throw that boxaway, oh man I think, like your
kids, my kids immediately gotexpensive taste because I got
them like that katie perry it'scalled, like kitty purry or
something like that.
It's in a cat bottle, it's afragrance.
Ryan (35:26):
It's a fragrance yeah, I
haven't smelled that, oh yeah I
got it at drug emporium forcheap.
Myke (35:30):
It's like 30 bucks they
like it they were like me and
then, and then they smell mynishane fragrances and they're
like oh, I want those.
You know, I'm like oh yeah, you're my little girl, so yeah,
I'm just a little younger thanthan your two girls.
Karson (35:43):
she's got my Wu Long
Chao yeah.
Myke (35:45):
Oh yeah, she's loving it.
Karson (35:46):
That's right.
Yeah, my oldest son, he's gotmy Mind Games Gambit.
He sneaks in there gets it allthe time that blockade.
Now my middle one.
He'll get in there and get theAventus.
He does like the Aventus, but Ido have him trained on a
cheaper, the Jimmy Choo.
He loves that.
I gave him a 200 mil bottle.
Myke (36:05):
There you go, spray it up.
Karson (36:12):
But yeah, the expensive
taste it's.
They know the finer things.
Myke (36:16):
It starts yeah, I'll try
to.
If I get down 10, 15 mil, thenI'll slide them something.
But I try to keep minesequestered off, I might start
locking mine up yeah, they sneakin there.
I'm like you've got quite acollection.
Karson (36:30):
I will say y'all it's
all because of y'all, it's uh,
you know we're at fault hereyeah, you guys, but it's a, it's
a wonderful journey, I you know.
Just to put a plug, I know itwas a couple years ago when
y'all came in on the other partof your business gonna shoot
that commercial and y'all camein on the other part of your
business going to shoot thatcommercial and y'all just didn't
even want to tell me whatpodcast y'all had.
Ryan (36:47):
So I'm like I'm going to
find out you sleuthed it out.
Myke (36:49):
I found out, I started
listening to it and I'm like man
.
Karson (36:52):
This is, you know, for a
guy like me, you don't really
want to go into your local storeand ask questions on cologne
because you don't want to seemlike an idiot.
Oh, that's true, I'd rather domy research at home, and I don't
know my dad didn't do it.
Ryan (37:06):
Yeah, where do you?
Myke (37:07):
start.
Karson (37:08):
Well, my dad, he grew up
on Brute.
Myke (37:10):
Oh yeah, I mean, I know.
Karson (37:11):
Brute, I know Brute.
You know the $12 drug emporiumdollar store, whatever.
But man, it's opened up a wholenew world.
Myke (37:27):
I more appreciative to
y'all for what you do and, oh
man, thank you so much.
Uh, being a patreon, it's, it'sworth every penny.
There we go.
Yeah, I've already won a bottle, that's right, and he's a
fireside friend, so you getaccess to those lives those live
ones.
Karson (37:36):
I gotta do more of those
and you come on one I would
love to.
Yeah, yeah, I don't know, y'allmight listen to this and be
like oh gosh, oh no, I canalready tell don't get him in
here.
Ryan (37:44):
We're gonna get uh
messages of this guy with the
golden voice and shit already ohno, you got the golden voice
that's right.
Myke (37:51):
Yeah, ryan was the voice
of your commercial?
Karson (37:54):
he sure was we.
Who is this?
Myke (37:56):
we had to flip a coin for
who was gonna voice it.
I was just like, just do itright.
Yeah, that's fine, but both ofy'all, that's my voice.
Karson (38:03):
But what you do is
wonderful, um, and I love the
authenticity of it, you know manbecause there's times you come
in it's like, oh gosh, that, that, that's horrible it's like
I know not to do that like oneof the best ones y'all did.
It was early on, it was lastyear around august, july, august
.
You did that versace erosenergy, oh yeah, okay, and loved
it so much I had to go out andbuy that, oh I remember.
(38:25):
I remember, yeah, we love itReally good Love it.
It's summertime fragrance.
It's kind of like if I'm goingto go out or even go to the gym.
You know work out.
I'm going to wear that.
Ryan (38:36):
Really good price too.
Even at retail it's like $105or $100 million.
Karson (38:39):
I found it on the spot.
Myke (38:40):
The bad places, yeah, the
bad places.
Karson (38:42):
we can't talk about yeah
, and so it was even cheaper
there.
Myke (38:46):
Yeah, yeah.
Karson (38:47):
Those dark alleys.
You know, it's almost as bad asa drug deal here, you know.
Myke (38:54):
It feels like it sometimes
.
Karson (38:55):
It does.
Myke (38:55):
You're like man it's been
a while since I bought a bottle
of Farns.
You start getting the itch forit.
Karson (39:00):
Yeah right, I'll get to
where it's like hey, I think I'm
in a good place, and thensomething will pop up.
Y'all will say something likeoh, I need to try that.
And it's down a whole otherrabbit hole.
There we go.
Ryan (39:10):
Yeah, have you ever heard
us really hate something and
still want to smell it?
Oh, yes.
Myke (39:14):
That's always the weird.
Ryan (39:18):
You know we will review
something bad and you know we
get so many people are like man, really why?
Karson (39:22):
I would.
It's very intriguing, but nowI'll sneak away to the local,
the big store around and see ifthey have it and sniff it and be
like oh they're right, that'shorrible.
Myke (39:32):
Well, you, uh, speaking of
this fragrance, you do like we
preach, which is you weresampling it first.
You got some decants first.
I mean, really, if you aregonna buy a fragrance like this
where you can't, you know, godown the, you know, into the
dark corners of the, thefragrance industry and get it,
then you better as well try it,get some samples of it, get a
(39:53):
decan of it, wear it a littlebit, see what your wife thinks,
see what your co-workers think, before you drop, you know, 300
plus on something.
Karson (40:01):
So, yeah, definitely
that's the way to do it.
You can't, you don't want tomess up on something like that.
Ryan (40:06):
No carson, thank you for
coming on the show and, honestly
, I already know in my head howthe show's gonna play out.
I know it's gonna sound good.
You did great, by the way.
Thank y'all.
We're having fun thank y'all, Ihad fun a lot of people come in
here not going to name anynames of any ickies or anything
like that, like, uh, they arenervous and they take some
minutes to kind of gel in, youknow what I'm saying, that's
(40:27):
true.
Karson (40:27):
yeah, carson came out
here freaking throwing haymakers
.
Hey, y'all make it easy.
We're just sitting around thistable in this room just talking.
Myke (40:35):
Well, that's the thing,
though.
It's hard for a young lady tocome in with a couple of really
attractive guys that you throwthem off their game a little bit
, you get Alan really good.
You know, here we're just brosjust sitting here.
That's smelling Louis Vuitton.
Karson (40:48):
It can't be you know, we
really don't want to say that
to too many people.
Myke (40:52):
Oh yeah, three of us
smelling Louis Vuitton around
here, you know, we privately metand smelled some perfume
together Smelled someimagination oh man Well man,
it's been fun.
You better come back on here.
Y'all just tell me when.
Yeah, actually we need to dobecause you got a bottle of
Aventus Absolute.
Oh, I do, I do.
Sorry, I'm going to get introuble if I say it that way
(41:14):
Absolute Aventus.
Karson (41:15):
That's right, yeah, it
comes first yeah.
Ryan (41:21):
So we need to do that,
you'll like that.
Karson (41:23):
That's a more mature,
very mature, definitely sweeter,
but that's an attention getter.
Got some clackers on it.
It does and it will.
Yes, it's got some meatyclackers on it, it sure does See
.
Yeah, that t-shirt.
Yeah, we need to do that, itwill and now it'll project.
It does not play in the sameworld as Aventus.
Myke (41:42):
It's true, yeah, because
Tony was wearing that in Italy.
Yeah, and every time I couldsmell it, I was like I really
need to get this Damn.
And that's a limited run yeah, which I heard through the
grapevine that I think they'regoing to re-release it.
Ryan (41:59):
Oh, that'd be nice yeah To
keep it just out there for a
while or just do another smallthing of it.
Myke (42:05):
I don't know, but I was in
Neiman's one day and a guy
walks up to me who worked thereand he handed me a tester strip
and he goes what do you think ofthis?
And I smelled it and I go, oh,this is the Absolute Aventus.
He goes, yeah, we're bringingit back.
Yeah.
And I was like what Do tell?
(42:25):
Like anybody else would be like, oh cool, but I'm seriously
like, tell me everything youknow.
Oh no, actually that's where Iwould be.
Karson (42:32):
Yeah, now you know one
thing that also before we go,
one thing that, uh, when I waslooking at the notes, that was
interesting on that citrus noteof here on in the imagination,
is it a?
Do you pronounce it citron?
Ryan (42:45):
and you know.
Karson (42:46):
So I didn't know what
that was, so I looked it up.
Do you know?
That's like the mother orfather of a lemon really read
that with a blood orange, acitron and a blood orange is
bred to make a lemon.
Really I did not know that.
Ryan (42:59):
What the hell's carson
coming in here making us look
stupid?
Karson (43:02):
hey man, I was already
stupid and I'm like I've never
heard of this before.
Look at this thing.
What is this?
This thing looks wild.
Myke (43:07):
It looks like a mixture of
a lemon and a banana.
The way it grows.
Ryan (43:11):
That is crazy.
Karson (43:14):
And it's a fragrant
citrus.
Myke (43:16):
Yeah, look at all the
stuff it's in too.
You know what?
Karson (43:20):
You mix a bitter orange
and citron, you get a lemon and,
speaking of notes, here justseeing this Chinese black tea.
Ryan (43:27):
You love your tea
fragrances, man.
I love a tea fragrance.
Now you see, that's where theWu Long Chao.
Karson (43:32):
That's one of my things
I kind of don't like is the tea,
but here it's in the layers soit's not up front and center.
Myke (43:38):
I wonder if you felt like
Wu Long Chao was a little too
feminine for you for it, forsure now okay that being said,
though, I could wear it, and inthe dry down it gets more
masculine.
Karson (43:49):
Yeah yeah um up front.
Hey, just don't walk out inpublic, let it dry down first.
Um, I was unashamed to do it,yeah, and ron was like boy,
that's a great fragrance.
Myke (44:00):
I I didn't think it was
feminine till I think we did the
second episode of it, oh, likea revisit of it.
When we did the revisit of it,yeah, because one of my friend,
audrey, she was looking for thistea fragrance and she smelled
it and she's like oh, that's it.
And then immediately I was likeI'm wearing a lady fragrance.
(44:22):
Yeah, I can definitely you know, but the citrus in there, yeah,
the citrus in there does kindof add something to it.
Ryan (44:29):
But hmm, yeah, I've
stopped wearing girl on vetiver
after that lady in the coffeeshop, so that's why I'm going,
lady really, for real.
I haven't worn it in a lot.
No, oh yeah, I don't know ifit's because of herb or some
subconscious things.
Karson (44:39):
Oh man, I'd double up on
it if it were yeah, you need to
go back in there and doublebarrel that thing.
Yeah, that's it.
Myke (44:47):
And just pull her in real
close, give her a big hug.
That's right.
Do I smell like an old lady now?
Ryan (44:51):
Yeah, Well, guys, we love
you.
Carson, thank you for coming onthe show and until next time,
Spray it up, y'all.
