Dan Markel was on the phone in his driveway when someone unknown to him pulled up. The person on the other end of the phone then heard something he could not explain. Next door, a neighbor worried about burglaries sees a Toyota Prius driving off. When Jim Geiger went to check on his neighbor, he found Dan Markel with a gunshot wound to the head. He dialed 911-- a complicated call which failed to save Dan's life. Now 11 years later, Dan's ex mother in law, Donna Adelson, is getting ready to stand trial for first degree murder.
