There are ways we can teach students emotional regulation, growth mindset, and empathy while helping them to connect with themselves, and the environment. Join Dr. Julie Leto and I as we have a dynamic conversation about using gardening to help students learn lessons that will be invaluable in school and throughout their life. As Dr. Julie points out, all students are "at-risk", so whether you work with elementary age children, middle or high school students, this episode on connecting gardening to the classroom is likely to inspire you in seeing growth through an entirely new lens.

Dr, Julie has been a passionate advocate for children most of her life. She's helped families, communities and schools improve learning and motivation for 30 years as an educational psychologist, teacher and parent coach. An expert in cognitive load – how our brains handle quantities of input - an area more important than ever in our hyper-connected, always-on, electronic world, she sees that kids process information and need to be parented differently than we were.

Dr. Julie learned that the greatest impact for students are the result of changes made by the adults around them.
