I recently attended an innovation day to support a friend and colleague who was presenting. Hanging at the back of a room I found a seat – as it turns out – right where I was supposed to be that day.

Sitting beside me was a high energy, business development and marketing professional, who seemed to be deeply engaged with his local community, and who was – clearly – a “natural connector”.

Kent Patel is excellent at seeing the big picture, and drilling down to details, organizing projects, and inspiring people to achieve desired results.

Everything he produces is built on connection, collaboration, and growth for businesses, individuals, and the wider collective.

Outside of work, he enjoys creating unforgettable moments that resonate with joy, connection, and a sense of accomplishment through his city-funded monthly workshops that focus on Indigenous Culture and Wellness.

These learning, feel good, experiences have created lasting connections and a "community of belonging” in the Calgary community of Sunalta … and beyond.

In our conversation today Kent shares how he’s been on a journey to embrace his own culture and is now passionate to connect others to their own in tangible, supportive, nurturing, fun, creative ways!
