The meaning of all.
Jesus said, Mark 12, 30, lovethe Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul andwith all your mind and with all
your strength.
Let us then define the word all.
All is one of the mostfrequently used words in English
and one of the oldestcontinuously attested words in

the language, remainingessentially unchanged in form
and meaning for over a thousandyears.
The word all is defined ascomplete, total, one hundred
percent, whole, entire, barnone, every last bit of,
totality, adverb as incompletely, without exception,

all in all, utterly, only,nothing but, solely, some total,
whole ball of wax.
Finally, with this propercontext, let us, by the power of
the Holy Spirit, understand thatall other personal loves must be
rejected, hated, voided,surrendered to the cross for

crucifixion with Christ, givenup, pushed out, and emptied from
within oneself.
If we are to be filled with thepower of God's love in our
lives, one cannot love God withall when other loves are active.
One cannot be filled with thelove of God when the vessel
refuses to be empty of all otherloves.

If anyone comes to me and doesnot hate his father and mother,
his wife and children, hisbrothers and sisters, yes, even
his own life, he cannot be mydisciple.
Thus, only by picking up one'scross and being discipled by

to love others.
After all, God is love and theonly source of power to love.
All other loves are, in fact,idolatry.

Jesus made this abundantly clearby example, embarrassing his
mother before a crowd, asrecorded in the New Testament.

brothers, for whoever does thewill of my Father in heaven is
