Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to the Construction Veteran.
I'm Scott Friend, and this isepisode three of our eight-part
series about conqueringconstruction challenges.
If you missed the first twovideos, go back and check those
out first.
Today we're going to be talkingabout overcoming technical

(00:31):
constraints in the industry.
We're going to explore thetechnical constraints that can
arise during constructionprojects and discover some
creative approaches forovercoming them.
From site limitations andstructural complexities to
regulatory requirements, thesechallenges can test the
ingenuity and expertise of allconstruction professionals, but
with innovative problem-solving,advanced technologies and
collaboration with experts, these challenges can be

(00:51):
successfully navigated todeliver outstanding outcomes.
Some technical constraints arepretty often found in the
industry, but with carefulplanning we can easily overcome
these.
There might be some structuralconstraints, some site logistics
, like we talked about last timeor sometimes, depending on
where you're building, someregulatory requirements that we
maybe not understand yet or wehave to overcome.

(01:12):
This episode is brought to youby Aerial Resupply Coffee.

Their beans are expertlyroasted for peak freshness and a
smooth, invigorating taste.

So let's talk about designintent versus some practical
outcomes.
So sometimes and I love thedesign teams but sometimes what

(01:40):
they're putting together mightnot actually work, considering
the regulatory requirements thatwe have, or maybe there's an
existing structure that isshaped a little differently than
we thought.
The collaboration, though, iskey on this, so we make sure we
communicate with the design teamwhat the challenges are and we
collaboratively come up with asolution.
Sometimes buildings will havesome irregular geometrics that
we have to work through, so wecan use technology to figure out

(02:03):
how can we make this design fitin the space as it stands today
.
So what do we do?
We run different scenarios.
We figure it out together withthat relationship that we
already have with the designteam and the customer, to figure
out what's going to be the bestoutcome with the challenges
that we're facing.
Compliance with regulatoryrequirements is another critical
aspect of overcoming technicalconstraints in construction.

(02:25):
Our teams collaborate closelywith regulatory experts to
navigate complex building codes, zoning regulations and
permitting processes.
This episode is brought to youby Memorial Ranch, a place for
our veterans and firstresponders to find rest and
relaxation while they preparefor their next mission life

(02:46):
Ensuring that projects meetlegal and safety standards.
Safety's huge At the end of theday.
When we're calling theinspectors in to please walk our
building, we want to make surewe get the green tag to pass
that inspection.
First and foremost, they'relooking at safety.
Now, it sounds bad.
They could kind of care lesssometimes how it looks on the
outside.
They want to make sure that thepublic is safe.

(03:07):
So how do we figure all this out?
Experience and expertise?
Easy, so we go to the peoplethat have been in this industry
longer than we have or maybewe've found some better
techniques over the years and weuse those.
So you want to rely on not onlyyour design team but your trade
leaders as well People thathave been doing this for decades
to figure out hey, have you runinto this scenario before?

(03:28):
What'd you do last time?
In conclusion, technicalconstraints are a natural part
of the construction process, butwith creative problem solving,
advanced technologies andcollaboration with the experts,
these challenges can besuccessfully overcome.
By embracing innovation andexpertise, we can ensure the

(03:50):
successful completion ofprojects and deliver outstanding
outcomes for our clients.
